  2. Luna took a moment to stop reading the plethora of field reports piled next to where she was sitting and looked up. She let out a deep sigh "well my sister has said everything that needs to be said, though I will say that if you have any more of these kinds of plans in mind, do inform us before you go off and put them into motion. I don't think I can handle anymore of these surprises...not to mention I have to deal with the captain when she gets back." She said using her fingers to rub her forehead. "Just hope she finds what she's looking for down in that tomb." She whispered under her breath.

Berry Punch and the Quest for the Crystal Goblets! (OPEN)

Smiling at having her recollection confirmed, the burgundy mare nodded eagerly at Toboe's question. "Yep! I always help little Pinchy with her costume; she was the Bride of Ponystein that year! I don't usually have time for my own, though; I'll definitely have to check out that shop if it's here again next year!" She was about to ask her for a drink order, when all of a sudden, the shop was invaded by a pink progenitor of prodigious partying! "The usual, eh Pinkie?" She laughed, turning around to grab the bottles behind the counter. "Coming up! Ten cups of the good stuff. You want them all separate, or do you want to try them all in a punch?" Berry looked back with a gleam in her eye. She rarely suggested this sort of thing, even though her full name suggested a particular application of this talent. Her parents had raised her to appreciate ingredients in themselves before bringing them together, drawing a parallel to inter-pony relationships. Each needed to know and respect themselves before they could do justice to another, a lesson which Berry took more to in drink than in ponies. After all, every time you met another pony, you couldn't help but mix, right? She laughed again at Opal's formalized hesitation. "Well, it might be, if it hadn't been so long since the last one. Pinkie builds up so much party in her, that if she doesn't let it out regularly, they become real blow-outs!"

Opal listened to the story. She's never heard of a "Okami" before, she'll have to ask when its her turn to speak. Also in the Crystal Empire she's never heard of "nightmare night," perhaps it was similar to their harvest festival. All of a sudden she saw Ms. Pie happily come in the door, and the next thing Opal knew the pink pony was sitting next to her. She ordered a very large order of juice. Was she going to drink it all? That's a lot of sugar. Also Opal thought it was just a grape juice and wine shop, hahahahhaha. Even though Pinkie was a bit overly hyper for Opal's taste in company, she was quite humorous to observe. Opal shyly smiled with a very light chuckle, "Oh hello Ms. Pie. Ummmmm I really enjoy Vanilla cake with a layer of raspberry filling and then chocolate icing on the outside. Hahaha. Also fireworks? Sparklers? Isn't that a bit too much for a welcome party?" Opal kept respect in her voice, she was extremely grateful for the party Ms. Pie offered to throw. She can only guess they go all out for parties in Ponyville? Parties were not held often in the Empire while Opal grew up, just small gatherings up until it was saved by Princess Twilight and her friends. Thinking of those depressing times made Opal frown slightly.

Berry Punch and the Quest for the Crystal Goblets! (OPEN)

Toboe's ears perked up at the whistle and strangely familiar disposition of the stallion approaching. Getting used to the lack of status she had in this country was a trial, but not an unwelcome one. She'd complained to her friend Nensho for years about the 'Yes-Mares' back home so when she was finally free of them in a foreign land... she'd be some sort of hypocrite to whine about their absence now. "Can't say I do. I've heard good things though." The pony sniffed at the air a few times, "Whatever she has in stock smells very top of the line. Are you looking to just get a taste of her product as well?" Before the curious looking earth pony could answer quickly, the door was opened. Toboe dipped her head towards berry, "Thank you very much... and, well I was here for nightmare night. " She chuckled only slightly awkwardly, that night had given her quite a scare after the princess disappeared. Thank goodness it all turned out to be an elaborate joke involving some old wolf. "I was in ... a very useful Okami costume most of the night. That stallion... Masquerade I think his name was: sold it to me. was a bit of a pain to get out of." She chuckled warmly, "Were you there for it? Was quite the event..." And soon came along a pink earth pony. She smelled incredibly sweet, sort of like candy. If Toboe had to guess she must work with confections of somekind or regularly spends time there. If she was connected to some place that could give her some pointers on preparing dishes for the bar... maybe this aspiring Bar owner could introduce herself as well.

Berry Punch and the Quest for the Crystal Goblets! (OPEN)

Pinkie Pie pronked proudly about, passing ponies perkily with permanent pleasure. She was always so happy to meet new ponies from around Equestria and when they were coming to Ponyville to make it their home she was double super excited! Just earlier that day she had run into just that sort of pony. A Crystal pony by the name of Opal Frost, coming here to live amongst the delightful denizens of this small town. Talk about a good decision! She'd recommend Ponyville to anypony who was anypony and you never knew what anypony could be somepony, so she just made sure to make everypony feel like THE pony! It never failed. Well, maybe it did. She didn't know. She didn't feel like it failed and that was enough for a pony who motored about with feelings as the primary driver on just about everything she thought, felt, or mused about! But speaking of Opal Frost, there was something that she was nescient about and it was eating her up inside. She was gonna throw a party for the newest addition to Ponyville but didn't know her likes and dislikes. Pie? Cake? Chocolate? Strawberry? Ice cream? Doughnuts? None of that, maybe some wheatcakes? Who was she to judge- as long as ponies had fun what else mattered? More information was needed, so she pronked her way to the store that the new arrival ran, but plot twist: Not there. Not that far away though, she saw Berry Punch walking and talking with her. Pinkie Pie followed and it was not very long until they came to her juice bar. Oooh, talk about a fun place. She could do with some great juice right about now, and she knew for sure that Berry Punch was the mare to give it. As she drew closer, two new figures entered into the fray. One was a Neighponese pony, she could tell. Something about the way they smiled was just a little more impactful than an Equestrian's smile- not nicer or meaner, just seemed to have a bit more verve to it. The second was a stallion with scars and markings, obviously somepony from a distance away. She could almost taste the dusty roads and hard work on him, reminding her of the rock farm. Beakbreak City, maybe? She could be wrong. Not that it mattered where the stallion or the mare were from. They were visitors or more to this town and were going to be taking up a solid bucket of her interest soon. When Pinkie finally arrived though, she had a more pressing matter to attend. The sight of the stand had made her thirsty! “Hey there, Berry! I need two Orange Juices, two Grape Juices, two Sugarcane Juices, and four Strawberry Juices, pretty please with candy canes on top!” She said as she came in to land next to Opal Frost. “Opal, I'm so glad I caught you. I went to your store but didn't find you there! I had a question for you. Several, come to think of it. Pie or cake? Strawberry or chocolate? Fire works or those little sparkler thingies?”

    Changeling Times[Private: ATTN: Blueblood]

Ice Storm gave a small smile to the guards they had apparently recognized her from her previous visit here. She remembered the last time that she was here. It was quite a relaxing trip, and one that she spent mostly in the spa and sauna. It actually surprised everypony that she knew back home when she told them that she was in a sauna. It generally got her the reaction of, "You were in a hot place and you didn't melt?". She had to admit there was merit to their concerns. For all of her power and affinity with ice, she was equally as vulnerable to fire and heat. Shoot, an average summer day in some of the hotter parts of Equestria could hospitalize her if she wasn't careful. Of course she had ways of dealing with the heat to make sure it never affected her, but they were usually magical counter measures that wasn't always something that she could rely on. She heard the changling greet her and look everything over, noting that everything was in order. She gave a smile but noticed that his smile faded a bit when he asked if she wasn't bringing a plus one. That Chrysalis had been hoping that she would. Ice giggled and nodded. "I did! She's probably still getting off the train. She's a bit dazzled by the sights," she said with a smile as Raven walked up next to them. "Ah, here she is now," she answered as Raven confirmed what she had just said to the changling. When she asked if they were in the same plane, Ice shook her head. "Likely not. After all, Equestria only has one sun. However there's nothing to worry about too much here... other than eating too much... gotta worry about that. The food here is amazing..." she said with a giggle and totally wasn't speaking fro previous experiences with the buffets here...

The Night Watch (Open to anyone)

While Taira managed to slip away from the rest of the group (but not too far) he'd found himself browsing the older spell section of this particular shelf. So many thick tomes with long words he didn't know ... and being Neighponese didn't help his lack of understanding. Suddenly her twitched his nose when he recognized a very familiar scent. That pup Nensho must have stopped by! Taira had caught wind of the wandering bodyguard's scent during the events of Nightmare Night, along with at least one other wolf that seemed a bit familiar... and maybe a fox? No time to dwell on that though, The old wolf walked over to the corner of the bookcase nearby with the intent of giving the young disguised yokai a silent greeting. The Kirin that did come around the bend was definitely not who he suspected. Taira's eyes went wide as saucers and... perhaps having forgotten his disguised status blurted out, "R-Ranu?!" In his normal voice, one that at least one mare in the room may recall from the running of the leaves. Thankfully he was tucked away in the corner with his friend, so none managed to see the spectacle of a genuine talking dog. Taira hushed his tone and spoke quietly to his old friend, "Ranu? It's been... well a dog's age since I last saw you. I'd been hoping to run into you actually... Have you been well? Was your search fruitful?"

I like this idea actually, Steel! I say we go ahead with it. As For the restarting of Gatekicker, I'm good with that too. I'll get to work figuring out a list of the active heroes.
  12. Raven steeped hesitantly off the train, looking at the alien skies, before seeing that Icy had already wandered over to deal with what had lead to this trip. A changling was apparently their point of contact for meeting with the queen... She had to admit, she'd never been this far out of Equestria before, her parents only traveled within it's borders. She couldn't keep the slight shudder from running down her back, but trusted Icy, who said they were nice. She finally approached, a slow walk that still had her taking in her surroundings. "So... Sorry, It's my first time here... and... and I was just admiring the area. We're not in the same plane anymore, are we?" She couldn't stop herself from asking that last part, her interest in how it was accomplished overriding her instincts that warned her of how dangerous the changlings could be...
  13. T Twister entered the base, deep in thought. -- Having devised something that vaguely resembled a plan, T Twister went to the base's locker room to stow her bags. She'd recently received a care package from her parents in Canterlot - homemade snacks, and a magazine from her father. Tales Of The Almost Unbelievable, Issue # 472. With stories with titles like 'The Human That Fell Into The Sky', 'Hayburger Zombies', 'How a Street Thug Beat A God', and 'Orange Frogs and Poodle Teacups' "I don't know where dad finds these things, but they're always a hoot !" she chuckled to herself as she put it in her bag. "Okay you two - no funny business until I get back !" she stated to Ace and Deuces. Ace gave her a salute, while Deuces sort of half saluted, yawned, then went back to sleep. T Twister went to the gym for yet more training (alongside the rest of the 'fodder'), and waited for someone to show up.

World of Equestria: The Age of Heroes!

So the idea is to do a bit of this in a more comic-book esque manner. And by that I mean having post number limits on threads, naming titles and threads a certain way, etc. IE: "Applejack, The Equestrian! Issue #1 (Blindsided Part 1)" would be a thread title, and it would have 22 posts. Then the next thread would be ready and be called, ""Applejack, The Equestrian! Issue #1 (Blindsided Part 2)", have 22 posts, etc. and then you have one-shots, annuals, 'limited series', etc. How would they operate? People can, as always, if it involves just their characters, write alone. In effect getting to 'update/run' their characters and plots without waiting. However, several people can instead work together on any single issue/arc/series. Maybe they think the other character is interesting and want a crack and the two work out a quid pro quo for the other person to come help write the second person's own thread. Could work on joint posts, or post one after the other. Then you have team 'books' which can be a lot of fun, and also easy ways if allowed to make sure characters being played by inactive/infrequent posters remain involved. They also can be larger collab efforts. You also have Style books (IE; "Adventure Comics") that may heavily involve one character, but can also bounce around and be more open to a range of characters than a set team or single character. None of this is intended to replace threads as we have them now, but rather supplement them. Consistent storytelling with our characters outside of the pacing of threads as they are now can be good. And by replicating the pacing of comics themselves, the demands of posts in comic-book emulating threads can be varying. Sometimes you have a splash page with no dialogue, a mood setting panel or six, or a fight. Other times, yes, you have tons of dialogue and back and forth. Point is that while sometimes a post in one of these threads may take a while, other times you may see multiple posts in a single day depending on comic style. Combined, I think this does several things: 1- Allows people to expand stories and canons for their characters faster, whether or alone or through collaboration. 2- Keeps characters not otherwise seen in rotation. 3- Helps flesh out our world through more consistent storytelling. I have three 'comic lines' thought up for The Equestrian, Shifter, and a style comic with Lady Adventure. Beyond that, I also want to do the following: Get a listing of active players and their heroes. Get a listing of less than active players that we can still contact to get permission to use their characters. Formulate teams. Get the villain side of the order organized better using the first two methods. Once we have that done, I think we can start really pumping out some good stuff for a wide variety of characters.
  16. “Yes of course Princess, I will not tolerate any disloyalty from or new warriors.” Apollo answered politely before turning to Luna to hear her input. Triton took another sip of his wine listening and analyzing every second of his time with Shadow. To him this was how he got to know people. Not so much focusing on what they have in common but how the Silent Fang member present himself and th way things were said. He sensed no dishonestly just as he expected. Triton set his cup down. “I appreciate you allowing me to speak with you. I don’t tend to be as warm and friendly as the others but I assure you, I am not an enemy.” Triton allowed himself to relax a little bit as the two continued in talking.

"A psychology book? You must be quite more educated then i am then." Lockhart smiled facing the two as they conversed with each other. "I wish it could be that simple." He chuckled "I will most likely do the latter, Things are peaceful enough around here, but i don't like taking chances." He explained, listening as Tranquility explained her sensory spell. "Well i certainly wouldn't mind trying." He said pondering it to himself for a little bit. "No one seems to pass along our history here, I have no idea why. Our origins have become somewhat lost to history except for stories and rumors. It is storied that our wings came from your pegasus pony kind, And our deer likeness from our cousin White tailed deer." Placidity did seem to have a interesting, theory, all tho that was not for him to judge whether it was truth tho. "Surely." Lockhart smiled and turned away motioning for them to follow him with his hoof. Being the way the Peryton lived, Large multi roomed hotels didn't exist. Insisted little homes where dug out of the hillsides just like the Peryton's homes where. Walking along the small dirt path they passed several shops and homes. Crossing a small wooden bridge over a little stream, the stocky Peryton leaded them towards the shore of the lake which was on the edge of town. A hill rose just a little ways off the shore, following the small path around the hill it was found that the side facing the lake shore had a few homes dug into the hillside. Some where at the base of the hill, and some where closer to the top. Their fronts where mainly made out of stone. with one large window, and a doorway. The upper level homes where set back in the hill to make room for a path. The homes weren't much to look at, but the view of the lake made up for most of it. Looking behind him to make sure they where with him, He headed up a set of stairs leading up the hill which where made of simple logs that where split in half and imbedded in the ground. "Will this do for the two of you?" He asked with a smile gesturing to one of the homes with his hoof.

    Changeling Times[Private: ATTN: Blueblood]

In truth, 'just off the Equestrian Shoreline' was an inadequate way of describing the location of the resort land Chrysalis had acquired from Discord. In one sense, yes, it was but a short sail from the Strand cities to her pleasure port of call, in another, one could hardly call it a part of the same dimension. The two suns were the biggest clue in that regard. So far, however, no random storms of chaos had messed up the Queen's ambitions to use the place to harvest love in a less evil and more successful manner than before. Now that issue of her Hive's immediate survival was taken care of, she couldn't keep her scheming brain quiet. But what could she get up to that wouldn't be counter-productive at this point? Well, perhaps she would get a good idea from her meeting today. An old hoof at espionage, whispers of things happening in a certain mare's life had reached her ears. A mare who was a repeat customer. Possibilities brewed in her mind, leading her to sending out an invitation. Not that she greeted the mare at the docks; after the grand opening, the 'Island Queen' no longer made a habit of personally welcoming the ships. Now, her drones did so. Undisguised, now that her 'secret' was out. She had assigned the more charismatic and sensitive members of her hive (rare among the unreformed 'lings) to guide each customer to the sector of the island most suitable to their fantasies. Kahz, a diminutive, slightly bent out of shape, but utterly charming was the one greeting Ice. "Miss Ice Storm? Lovely to see you again!" Smiling, he took up the scroll in his magic, glancing over it. "Looks to be in order; be glad to take you there!" His smile dipped a bit as he saw one of the last lines of the scroll. "You're not bringing a plus one? Her majesty had been hoping you would."

Berry had been about to nod and pack it up once again, but then she heard the little dingle of the bell over her front door. Customers! "Hold that thought for now, I've got ponies to take care of." Smiling at Opal, she was positively beaming at the shaggy-maned newcomer. "Yep, that's me! Come on in, ain't seen you 'round these parts before, I think?" She tilted her head, trying to place Toboe on the rather vague memories she had of a similar-looking mare. "Or weren't you here for Nightmare Night? Yeah, I think I remember seeing you there." Not just that, but another customer was coming in right behind! Ooh, an exotic-looking earth pony; mama like. "Well there, handsome, the nice thing about wine is that it comes in so many varieties, you can find one for any taste! Whether you like them sweet and fruity, bright and zesty, smooth and elegant, or dark and rich, I got one for all, and even more! And if you don't know what you like yet, I'll give you a sampler tasting for 5 bits! You won't find a better deal this side of Canterlot."

[Age of Heroes] Come one and all! Heroes get equipped!

It may have shocked Hexer but it did not unnerve Shifter much. Shifter wondered why that was. The easy answer was that Shifter had once a similar reaction stretched over what felt like years when the body of Valen Orange was destroyed both physically and metaphysically. Being alive and not alive, existing yet not, was an existential crisis that had done a number on the former colt's mind. Even now Shifter would fail to describe the sensation of what not-being and aware felt like. Words very literally did not exist and once words did exist to describe the despair they were not words Shifter was given to revisiting. Shifter was not shocked at Bravo's reaction, but Shifter was sympathetic. Shifter knew that there was nothing that could be said to assuage such grief. In time, perhaps soon, the mere act of walking about would guarantee a level of safety and familiarity that may breed a better life for Bravo. The idea of a tour was a good one. For now, Shifter gave several gentle pats on Bravo's back and left him to his own world, as distant as it was. He would improve soon. Shifter had a good feeling about it, but knew that outside help could not come until Bravo was ready to receive it. Time would not heal the wound, but it would soon allow others in. That was enough. "When he is ready, Hexxer, I think that idea is just dandy." Which meant, at least briefly, Shifter could focus on why Shifter had been sent here. Gear. The basic idea that Machina had come up with was sound, but it needed modifications. "The idea of some sort of stealth suit is very interesting, yes. Of course, it has to take into account how my powers work. When I transform into another creature, the clothing changes as well to fit who I am turning into. I can also turn into inanimate objects and animals. So whatever I wear has to take that into consideration, too," Shifter said. Giving a small demonstration, Shifter turned into a small falcon that flew around a bit and then landed, before turning back into the maid from earlier, complete with uniform. "The only issue is that my memory recall is perfect. I do copy them in such a way that I do have their memories, but they are at best fragmented, and it takes more exposure or study for me to 'unlock' more of their memory and personality. A suit that can help with that with information gathering and remain useful during transformations would be very helpful."

"Oh wow, That's so interesting, When i came up here i figured it was some kind of strange weather phenomenon." Night Breeze said with a bit of enthusiasm. "I am mostly certainly going to have to learn more about this place." She said with a smile pausing for a moment as Taira seemed to have a sneeze coming. "You must have learned a lot about this place in your time here." She said standing up again. A thought entered her mind, Why did he live at the top of mountain ? He said that the mountain had been his families territory for quite some time, and this mist appeared somewhere around a hundred years ago. Could his line of family been living here before the mist appeared? Maybe she was thinking to deeply into this, She dismissed the thought. "That definitely sounds like the first place to go!" She smile stepping to follow Taira. "I'm sorry if i may seem a bit too over caring at times. Its part of what i do, and I enjoy caring for others, and i would hate to make you do anything, especially on a day that you aren't feeling well." She tried to explain, She just hated to see anyone not feeling well. "I hope you don't mind me taking inspiration from some of the features of you home land here. I have been saving up the bits to build my own spa, And i thought maybe i could theme some of it after the landmarks around here." She added on with a smile thinking to herself, as Taira stopped when he heard mention of her healing spell. "Ah, Yes, I have a healing spell i have used before on scratches and scrapes, and other physical pains, But never on Illnesses before" The unicorn said explaining as Taira turned to face her. She was happy to hear that he didn't mind. "Its actually quite rather simple. All you have to do is stand there, and I cast the spell. It may take a moment to fully work tho." Night Breeze looked Taira over. He was rather quite stocky in size. The healing spell she used always seemed to wear her out a little, But It might take a bit more magic to work on somepony of his size, than she had ever done before. She was all to happy to help tho.
  25. "I am indeed. It's a psychology book. I'm not sure if I should bother boring you with all the details, but it focuses primarily on the Equus genus. Perhaps in a sort of sequel book I could delve into other species," Tranquility explained before turning to her sister. "Unless of course, you want to start writing it?" "No, I think I'll leave that up to you," Placidity replied. "I would suggest taking your entire herd along with you, but that begs the question of how big your herd is anyway. I'm guessing you're just going to wait until you're older when you have an heir to continue on your work." "A sensory spell could help visualise the magic aroma and it's directional flows. I say could, but really I don't see why it wouldn't work since it's still magic and thus shouldn't be that much different," Tranquility explained trying to remember her sensory spell. It was in there somewhere. "Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about the whole salt thing, there clearly isn't anything wrong her that could possibly warrant bringing salt around to these parts." "All stories you say and no certain facts? Does no one here record any of your histories, anything that could certainly tell us what possibly happened?" Placidity would have exclaimed if she was a regular pony, but her artificial tone stayed the same. "I do have a theory that your current magic is somewhat overriding your flight capabilities. Your magic seems to resonate mostly with the environment and thus wouldn't atone much to the sky to give you flight as other creatures. Flighted creatures generally have massive proportionate wingspans alongside aerodynamic bodies or magic that interacts heavily with the air." "Enough talk I would say for this moment," Tranquility cut in fake coughing. "Would you help aid us in finding a place to stay for the coming week?"

Lockhart smile when he heard they would be staying for awhile, giving a curious look when a mention of a book was made. "Your writing a book?" He asked out of curiosity. "I don't know if we would affect salt water, None of our kind has wandered far enough to come in contact with salt water that we know of." He said thinking about it for a moment. "I myself wish I could go to visit other places in equestria, But it is my job to protect the herd, and i do not wish to abandoned them." Lockhart added on, He had heard so much from visiting ponies from across Equstria about various places that would seem nice to visit. "A sensory spell?" He asked with the tilt of the head at the thought of it. "Yes we peryton are incapable of flight, We may have at one point, But I am not sure. I have heard stories of our origins, and whether or not we ever did fly, But they where all stories and rumors. Nothing solid." Lockhart said realizing that no one in the herd at least had ever passed down their history to one another, and it made him rather curious. "Well it's certainly good to meet you Placidity and Tranquility." He said with a smile.
