History: Harshwhinny was born in Canterlot of a well-to-do family. Her father, Swift Judgment (a respected judge), was a unicorn who married Stern Look, an Earth pony mare who was a factory quality control inspector. Needless to say, Harshwhinny grew up with an appreciation for both of her parent's professions. Each of them looked at life as something to be constantly critiqued so it was no surprise that their only daughter would view life in the same way. In school, the tan mare's attitude didn't win her many friends, but it did earn her a measure of respect. Often, her classmates would ask for her opinion on their homework or with their home life. Sometimes Harshwhinny's advice could be very stern, but usually she was correct in her assessments. This is because of the mare's keen eye for detail. She often discovered things that others would overlook. This personality trait was key in her receiving her cutie mark (see below). She worked hard and got high marks in all levels of her education, graduating with a degree from Canterlot University. Her parents used their connections to get her a job with the Canterlot Civil Service. It didn't take long for her to get promoted to one supervisory position after another within the CCS. Ms. Harshwhinny's record for stern adherence to Royal rules and policies got her eventually promoted to the job of Chief Inspector for the Equestria Games, a job she still holds to this day.

Cutie Mark Story: One day at her school there was an Art contest. Almost every filly and colt in school entered it, except for Harshwhinny who was secretly ashamed of her lack of artistic talent. One of the main rules of the contest was each pony had to produce ORIGINAL work. No copies or work drawn or painted by others. One of her classmates, Raw Ambition, bragged about how his painting would win First Prize and when the day came for the Art Contest to begin, his entry was by far the best in show. Boasting of where he would hang the Blue Ribbon he felt he was sure of winning, he didn't notice Harshwhinny walking over to the painting and giving it a thourough look. The sharpeyed mare spotted a badly painted over watermark signature in the right bottom corner of the painting. As the teacher walked over to award First Place to Raw Ambition, Harshwhinny galloped up to the podium to stop her, insisting that the confident colt had broken the rules by not submitting an original work. Furious, Raw Ambition flatly denied he had cheated, rallying all of his classmates to his side of the argument. It was only when the REAL artist who painted it made her way through the crowd and identified her work that the colt's father had bought from her a week ago that everyone realized Harshwhinny was correct. As the teacher thanked her for being so observant, a flash of light appeared behind her. She turned her head to see that her cutie mark, a Golden trophy cup, now graced her flanks. Harshwhinny took this as a sign that her future involved critiquing the work of other ponies.

Character Summary: Ms. Harshwhinny is a perfectionist. She lives up to her name, even when attending social functions such as operas, plays and motion pictures. In order to be a completely objective observor of life, the tan mare is often very aloof. Her strictness explains why she has never married since, in her eyes, all the stallions she's ever met didn't measure up to her high standards. Though she tries to be polite and tactful, often she comes off to others as being snobbish or sharp-tongued. However, beneath her rough exterior, she does have a kind, understanding nature. This was why, in spite of the huge mix-up with her official reception in the Crystal Empire, the unbiased and very passionate testimony of a visiting mare (Ms. Peachbottom) persuaded her to award the next Equestria Games to the Crystal Empire. This experience became a true turning point in her life. Perhaps there are more occassions she can 'throw out the rulebook' and simply enjoy the simple pleasures life can bring, like Ms. Peachbottom. Ms. Harshwhinny is still very serious about her job, but only now is she beginning to let her 'guard down' and allow herself to unwind every once in a while. A well traveled pony who has seen much of what Equestria has to offer, Ms. Harshwhinney still longs for 'new' and 'different' experiences. She is often bored with what she feels to be 'routine' and 'dull.' Her time in the Crystal Empire showed her how much fun it was to experience life through the 'eyes' of others. She learned that there was great satisfaction in taking the time to truly listen to the sincere words/stories other ponies have to tell. In many ways, her time in the Crystal Empire 'opened her eyes' to a world of new possibilities. Now Ms. Harshwhinney is more open and 'easy going', but still the strict judge she always was. It could take much time, but this mare has high hopes of enjoying life on a whole new level!

Wait a second, there's a limit to how many Tier 3 characters you can play?

No, but if you have too many, you may be asked to stop apping them or drop some to be fair. It is always good to exercise common sense. Also... the more cast characters you have, the more demanding posting becomes.
