From her very early stages of life, CT loved to sing, no matter how much it made her parents and classmates cringe. As she grew older her vocal chords grew stronger, as did her joy in singing and performing, until she developed a foalish interest in becoming a wildly famous pop star. CT dreamed of rocketing into stardom, even as a young foal, and her school's annual talent show seemed the first stepping stone to that dream.

CT became obsessed with winning the talent show, possessed with the desire to be noticed or recruited, to the point where her routine occupied nearly every waking thought in her mind. So noticeable was her drive that her parents began to grow alarmed, especially when CT's normally genial and cheerful demeanor gave way to a drama queen insistent on her parents buying her the perfect costume, or demanding her friends to practice the back-up dancing every day. She became a veritable Windigo, utterly possessed by her desire to win.

CT was so aggressive in her drive that, when the day actually came, she was burnt out from all her preparation, and ended up fumbling through her performance. She was angry from the failure and embarrassed for it - but she became heartbroken when her friends approached her to give her a home-crafted trophy made from macaroni. CT realized she hadn't needed to become such a brat to achieve her dream, not when she had the support of her friends and parents despite how badly she'd treated them. Her cutie appeared there on the back stage, a gentle swirl of cherry blossoms giving bloom to her all-time love of music.

History: Though CT sometimes feels like her foalhood was one action-packed adventure leading up to her departure from her parents, it really wasn't all that spectacular. Born and raised in Canterlot, CT was quick to realize her love of singing, and even quicker to fall in love with celebrity pop singers that passed through the town, often performing at events or making an appearance for the grand opening of such-and-such store. Their glitz and glamor appealed to the young foal, and her passion even drove her parents into getting her enrolled in private singing lessons, helping her develop mediocre falsettos into a rich and powerful voice.

Academics were never her strong suite, but the Unicorn did alright throughout her learning years, enough to get her into advanced schooling. She enrolled to obtain a degree in the performing arts, but the core classes soon proved to be a thorn in her side. Eventually she was able to receive help in the form of a tutor, who guided her through the more difficult classes while she focused on developing her musical skills.

Unfortunately for CT, the music program was more focused on the classics than pop culture - students of the program went on to become singers in Bridleway, or pursued careers in music education, neither of which appealed to the Unicorn. She wanted to become a famous pop star and sing out to a cheering crowd with pounding bass at her back, not sing acapella to a silent and still recital hall. CT finished out her degree so she could have it, but floundered afterwards, unsure of what to do.

Eventually, with support from her parents, the Unicorn got herself a small apartment in Canterlot while she continued her search for fame and fortune. Though she takes almost any job that involves singing, performing in bars and night clubs still grates on her nerves from time to time. Still, CT was grateful to have a hoof in the door of one of the most influential cities in Equestria, and she holds out on the hope of one day getting discovered, breaking out a record deal, and becoming the next big thing throughout the country.

Character Summary: With aspirations of fame and fortune as a pop singer, CT was quick to fall into the role of the outgoing and extroverted pony. Genuinely cheerful and sociable, CT expresses a warm and approachable air that sets herself up as a hip and cool singer. The Unicorn is often jaunty and animated, seeming bubbling with self-confidence in herself and her voice, and she does not shy away from new experiences. Definitely a extroverted pony that enjoys being with others rather than being by herself, CT flourishes when she has others to interact with. There is a gentler and calmer side to the Unicorn as well, one that is generally expressed when with close friends and loved ones, and despite the trappings of popularity and 'cool' that CT layers on herself, she is a genuinely kind and sensitive pony.

Her attempts to reach celebrity status, however, can impair her good judgement at times. CT is susceptible to social status and the observations of her peers, causing her to bend to the force of the group rather than her own standing at times. Having generally grown up within the "popular" crowds in school and afterwards, CT is very sensitive to what other ponies have to say, including what activities she partakes in and who she hangs out with. She is not mean or malicious in her attempts to keep social standing, not does she blindly follow what others say and do. But peer pressure definitely keeps CT on the tips of her hooves.

Luckily for her - or unluckily, depending on who is asked - CT intuitively and almost always fits in with the cool crowd, wherever she is. With her foalhood lesson of tempering aspirations with grace and gentleness still lingering over her, CT has never again become quite so obsessed with achieving her dreams - but that doesn't mean she hasn't taken steps to improve her pop star image. Lamenting her given name as being too elegant and delicate sounding for her goals, the Unicorn was quick to adapt her stage name of Cherry Treble, a more stylish and hip sounding name that she often shortens to 'CT' for an extra edginess. She also tends to sport unique and edgy mane and tail styles, keeping up with a fresh look to support her image.

Like with all ponies though, CT sports some issues underneath her edgy and confident exterior. She suffers from some insecurity complexes, mostly stemming from her stalled dreams of becoming a celebrity pop star - a dream that is mostly stalled because of her lack of understanding of the entertainment world. CT has a great voice and knows it, and for some reason thinks it enough for her to rise to stardom. The fact that she has to sing in the odd bar or perform in the random show grates on her nerves from time to time, and can sometimes leave her feeling put out and frustrated with herself, wondering why she is not good enough to be recognized. This insecurity, in turn, can sometimes project into other areas of her life - her appearance, relationships, love life, even her voice.

Overall however, CT has no problems maintaing a cheerful and agreeable outlook on life, genial and outgoing with almost everypony she meets. Driven and determined to become a pop star, her aspirations are ambitious, and only time will tell how much of herself CT is willing to give up to fulfill her dreams.
