Blackwing AND Dude? Just her luck, the 2 troops of higher rank had the same idea about how a squad operates? Next time, she could make the split-second decision to have a drink instead of proving cover fire, see how they like it.

Although, hearing Dude's second sentence, she felt an all-too-familiar ice in her veins. How dare he even suggest that she wasn't smart enough to operate Recon, how dare he imply it! If he'd of done that to someone else she knew, he'd already be dead. Thankfully, she was capable of withdrawing her emotions.

"Fine, I agree" She said with her best 'whatever' voice, not pleased, but knowing this was not a battle she could win.

There was a tense few moments after she "agreed" but that was broken as doc walked in.

Dude waves to him and said "hey doc what's better? Thinking on your own on a mission and making choices based on the group or just following orders?"

doc was a bit surprised by this bit after a few moments to realizes what he was asked he said

"you always got to make the best choice for the team. Why what's up?"

Dude nods "now that we're all rested up we are going to figure out our squad roles.   Who is point man, slack man, radio man and assistant radio."

Midnight had to hide her anger, once again, hearing Doc agree with them.

"I'll do radio" She says simply, trying to keep herself from snapping at them, going to the other end of the room and making herself a drink, oddly enough, not a coffee which the other members of the team enjoyed, but a simple tea instead.

Black couldn't help but laugh, internally, when Doc walked in and agreed with them. His guess was that Midnight hadn't really been in a firefight before, sure she had shot, but from what Black was guessing, she wasn't normally being the one shot at.

"Im most comfortable at point or Slack" He says, sort of hoping for point but not really caring which.

Dude nodded "ok we're going to test out our position on a makeshift obstacle course. I'll be radio then because I don't want doc to deal with radio and one of us bleeding out."

doc went ant over to midnight and put his arms on her shoulders he smelled the tea which seemed quite nice "your British side is showing ... Hey what's wrong?"

Blackwing nodded at Chill, agreeing with him. If Doc was carrying a radio, it would be insanely hard for him to really.... well, help if one of the team got shot, and there was going to be a good chance this time round that someone would get hurt, somehow.

"Might be best for Doc to go Slack then? If he is the first one down, if someone else gets hit we are screwed" He said, looking to Doc for his approval before noticing he had walked over to Midnight, he just shrugged, turning back to Chill.

"What kind of Makeshift course?"

Midnight was a little more than annoyed hearing Dude basically ignore her offering to take the radio, but once again, turned the other cheek. She smiled slightly at Doc as she took a stip of her drink.

"Nothing much, outside that Dude forgets I offered to be radio since i'm at the back of fights...." It would be clear from her voice alone it more than bothered her.

Dude replies to blackwing; on the other side of base apparently there's an old plane graveyard. We're going to check it out ... They also said it's filled with vicious cats ... So uhh make of that what you will."

doc was a bit surprised; having not heard the conversation earlier. He Reyes to sound as soothing as possible when he said

"the way a recon team operates is that there's always 2 guys on radio. ... Works pretty nice. One guy doing crypto and frequencies. The other talking and sending photos. Besides the radios we use suck"

dude nodded "touché so let's go make out packs and check out this graveyard. Then we're going to run drills till we can work smoothly"

dude got up and walked out "let's go" he said

doc nodded but then stopped himself and said "ummm I need to talk to midnight for a minute alone." Dude whirled his head and asked "about what?" Sounding concerned

doc thought for a second "uhh health stuff" dude was satisfied and nodded "ok, come one blackwing we'll meet them at the gear lockers ... So do you have a ruck of your own?"

Midnight frowned, if they care hurt a cat.....she'd do a lot more than hurt them. She was about to grab her rifle, before hearing Dude asking her to stay behind. She turned to him, a suspicious look on her face as she waited. What did he want now?

Doc looked into her eyes and said "are you o.k; you seem a bit snipey … More so than usual" he paused and smirked a bit at his own joke. Doc then walked with her heading to the site "is it Chill? Do you not like him?" He asked trying to figure out her problem

Doc thought for a minute. Was she just like a new kid at school having trouble making new friends? Doc smiled a bit at the adorableness

"well yeah it was a bit of a dick move. But let's just give it some time. Maybe  you just need some time to get used to a new operational setting and partners?" He said trying to be encouraging

A plane graveyard? Blackwing couldn't help but be a little excited. He enjoyed jumping out of planes, and he was about to see a whole heap of crashed ones. Though the cats..... Black made a mental note to make sure he was actually CARRYING one of his knives in his hand the whole time.

Black let out the smallest of laughs when he heard that their radio's sucked, not fully believing it. When he had rolled with Black ops, a lot of the time he had gone without radio. Sure, they had earpieces at times, but due to the nature of his work, he normally didn't bother wearing it due to radio silence, besides, it half blocked his ear. He nodded when Dude said they were going.

"Best of luck Doc" He says, not fully knowing what they were going to talk about. Once they were both out of ear shot he answered Chill. Both of his questions.

"Not on me, don't know where it went, and depending on how much we need to carry, i doubt it would have really been big enough. And as to before.... No, i don't believe she did it, why do you ask? Do you know something i don't?"

Midnight shrugged simply in reply. She knew he was right, the entire system had changed from what she was used to, and she had to acknowledge it. But she didn't have to like it.

"He just needs to get out of my face and give orders, that's all I want from him..."

Dude shrugged "unfortunetly I don't. Just what I thought you were heading for the way you asked about them both. ... Umm this way." He said heading towards a rather desolate area of base. They walked theu the dust and once they passed a corner they saw a large fence with barb wore on top and behind it was a big rusty plane.

"huh ...well how about that." Dude said a bit surprised it was really there.

doc held her shoulder and gave her a quick peck on the cheek "we workbdifrently in recon; you'll understand soon enough." Doc followed the tracks they made in the sand and caught up with them at the fence "whoah, he said as they found the hidden part of base.

Dude nodded seeing them "yeah so camp promenade was built of an old lailand base that they used, as an airfield, supposedly this area is all that's left. It will be a good place to drill some manouvers. Let's not waste time finding the entrance."  He said as he climbed up to the top of the fence and held the barb wore on top down with his foot for the rest of the team. Doc waited for midnight and blackwing to go in case they fell he could treat them immediately

Midnight knew he was right, it would take time, she just didn't like it. She blushed brightly at the kiss on the cheek, returning it and, even as they arrived at the fence, the flush on her cheeks would be clear. Seeing the situation, she questioned why not just go through the fence, but was silent. Captain made the call, over the fence, so she obeyed, climbing over the fence without incident.

Blackwing shook his head. He didn't believe or think that she had shot him. Before he could think more of it though, they got the the yard. He looked at the planes, semi laughing.

So this is what happens when we demo planes....

He climbs over, making sure not to prick himself. He looks at the planes, then quickly checks he has his knives on his legs, and chest. Big cats, he didn't want to be unarmed in case there was some.... insanely big ones here.

"Alright... so what first?"

Once he saw his team on the other side doc crawled up and pulled the wire down himself crawling over it. Then they both dropped down.

dude walked between them and said "ok; so let's try this; blackwing as point man, doc as slack following him, myself and then midnight. ... Yeah this could work"

dude de went to blackwing "as point man it's your job to navigate us and before missions its you who decides the route. On top of knowing your directions, you also need to be on 100 percent onservation. We will be able to help you but your eyes are first. Your pack will be the lightest so you can move faster too. Got it?"%

Midnight listened to the role. While she didn't like the idea of her being point, given she was a sniper, it made sense. Directions, easy. Oberation, easy. Being the first one if a close range gunfight? Eh. On the Brightside, she'd be at the back, at a distance, where she could bring the pain. That's where she was unstoppable.

She stayed silent however, words were pointless plus Dude was making the orders which meant she was silent and listening. She moved to the back, bringing her weapon out and checking her clip. She took a deep breath. Time for boring training to begin.

  • 4 weeks later...

Blackwing listened to what Chill said, quite quickly feeling the similarities of what he was used to doing, except normally it would be a little more..... different and with a different team set up. He thought back to his old team, wishing they were here with him now. But they weren't.

He moved ten feet ahead of the group, raising the Scar he had brought along to the training. He looked around, then turned back towards Chill, looking at him with a little of a confused expression.

"Anderson?"

Dude paused and whipped his head him a gesture of disappointment in himself

"Aussie; right, my bad so alpha pattern means we are all in a line; Anderson is the same order and formation except we stagger out a bit to the sides. Alpha is good if your trying to keep a low profile and think you might fight. But Anderson allows you to see more, and we can all find individual hiding spots if we see something." He said as they walked in formation.

Doc doc began to treat it seriously. He didn't bring a gun, but held his hands as if he did. Ever couple of paces he looked behind himself.  Keeping note of his allies and surroundings

"when your heading towards a destination try to place your self in front of a covering object; so that way if someone is on the other side they won't see you; we call it a screen." He said as he spotted an old engine that would make a good one.

A screen isn't a peice of cover but instead just something to keep you out of sight. Because if you are stalking or aproching an enemy it's easy to spot something movie from side to side. But not something coming towards you

there seemed to be some rustling movement in an old biplane to the north west that they were aproching not far from there destination

Midnight dropeed to the back, her beloveded sniper in her hands, loaded. She didn't understand the conversation Doc and Blackwing had, about someones name apparently. She shrugged it off and did her job, her footsteps silent as she slowed her breathing. That's when something rustled, and she took action. Crouching down onto one knee, she raised her rifle and pointed the 50 calibar weapon at the bushes where she'd guess the next rustle could come from. While in reality she doubted it was anything dangerous, it was worth keeping up appearances.

Blackwing made sure to take notes of everything Doc said, mentally. He understood it all, it was pretty much the same as he had learned, just a little different. He was used to working with a bit of a bigger team.... or a smaller one. He kept moving through the planeyard, his eyes scanning every bit in his sight line. Then, he heard the rustling.

Blackwing halted, his rifle going up quickly, aiming towards the biplane. It was from there somewhere.

"See anything Midnight?"

"No" her voice was cold, detached and strictly professional "Need a thermal scope to see through that. Might be a cat thought..." she says simply, not moving from her position crouched down with her rifle raised.

As they aimed at the  biplane out of the turbine two gold eyes apeared and out of it walked a large snarling cougar!

"holy!" Doc whipped out his knife and took a step back

dude smiled "ok looks like we've been compromised, what do we do? We got lots of options. We can do a show of force scare them away, we can shoot it and ensure our own safety, or we can back away and hope no one gets hurt. You two are on point and have to make this choice!" He said calmly
