Lady in the Water

Kudalyn

Tried a bunch of things.... like different painting types and such....

Still didn't get the right effect I was going after. I was trying to get 'haunting beauty' not whatever the heck this is.

Oh well. Practice makes perfect.

Water is annoying to draw.

Might keep fiddling with it.

I think the shiny parts on her nose turned out real nicely. :) Perhaps it might have been a tad more haunting if there was an ambiguous shadow of the rest of her body, just hidden beneath the surface?

Heh... well, the impression I got, though it might just be from the stuff I watch and read - is that old spirit of a lady that lures men into the water so she can drown them...

you did a really good job with the floating hair.

@Ginger: Yeah, I tried doing that, but I probably shoulda made the shadow a lot darker.

@Bramble: Actually, that's also a part of the legend of Kelpies - irl lore kelpies take the shapes of normal horses or beautiful women to lure men into the water, where when they touch them they become glued to them so they drown. Then the kelpie eats their prey :P
