The Legend of MandoPony

A gift for the amazing and talented, 

Mando wasn't always the famous musician we all know and love. 

Here we see him at the crossroads, making the deal with none other then Spicy, the demon pony herself. 

"They say you can help me?" he approached her, his guitar strapped around his back. "I want to be the best musician in all of Ponyville!"

Her ears rang at the sound of his plea. She turned to face him, her red eyes glowing. "Perhaps, but you're aware of the cost, correct?"

"Cost?"

"Of course silly," she said, as she sauntered over, brushing her tail seductively under his chin. "Everypony knows if you want to make a deal with me, you need to have something to bargain with."

The yellow stallion fished through his pocket, "I don't really have much to offer-- how 'bout a muffin?" he grinned sheepishly, picking a bit of lint off of it.

"I'm not interested in baked goods." 

"Look, I'll do whatever it takes!"

Inspired by the legend of Robert Jonson...

According to legend, as a young man living on a plantation in rural Mississippi, Robert Johnson was branded with a burning desire to become a great blues musician. He was "instructed" to take his guitar to a crossroad near Dockery Plantation at midnight. There he was met by a large black man (the Devil) who took the guitar and tuned it. The "Devil" played a few songs and then returned the guitar to Johnson, giving him mastery of the instrument. This was in effect, a deal with the Devil mirroring the legend of Faust. In exchange for his soul, Robert Johnson was able to create the blues for which he became famous.
