My own drawings...
This is a drawing I did last night... It is my character KindShadow dressed as the protagonist from Shadow of The Colossus. I am thinking of entering it for the contest... 'n stuff. Yesterday was my first time drawing ponies... I had some fun with it.
2 questions: y u so good! and how, just how, i can never draw something like that(unless i printed this out and drew it in my sketch book) which i wont.
Maybe you should. It might be good practice? During the Renaissance, artist openly used other people's work as reference to improve their own ability. Artist would draw sketches of classical Greek statues to improve their skills. As long as your having fun and drawing, copying another artist's work can be a worthwhile endeavor.
When you feel comfortable you can graduate from studying other artists, to using actual photos, objects, or people, as reference.
That is how I got to where I am today, and how I plan to continue improving my ability.
By the way, thank you for your kind words. It really means a lot to me. ^ ^
Another good way to improve your abilities and study other artists is to talk to them and ask questions, like did.
Asking more specific questions will probably provide better results. For example, I can tell you how I did that 'shinning horn' effect. You may be able to guess how I did, but just in case... I did it by drawing the pony and the background first (which was mainly just a lot of shading), then I just quickly dragged my eraser away from the horn in various directions, creating those streaks of light.

Not bad, not bad. You earn automatic points for SOTC included in this picture, though that part is a touch crude. The pony itself is well drawn, with amble fluidity is his cape... thing. I do wonder though. If Wander is a pony, what's Agro?
