[Ponyville] Cart Troubles

MudBug

Recommended Posts

"So, tell me again, how exactly did I get saddled with you today?"

The cart jostled with its filthy cargo as its owner pulled it, on her side a watering can that sloshed and drizzled occasionally on her feet which she used to keep the muck wet and slippery. Today was another delivery day and the resident mud lover was delivering some special mud, healthy, vitamin enriched soil for gardens and the like to feed those fresh spring flowers and growing vegetables and fruit ponies were sure to have growing at this time of year.

It seemed however that she had a tag along today.

On her back, sat just before her harness nestled around her middrift, was a small and white, or reasonably white after sitting on her back, foal with a leather riding helmet and goggles who smiled away at the filly who arched a good natured brow at the tiny passenger.

"Because my aunty was busy today...and your mommy manipulated you with her fresh baked daisy and chocolate chip brownies."

Smirking at that, she nuzzled her muzzle against the little foal's, causing him to giggle and playfully bat at her face to make her stop, which she did. She adored her neighbour, he was the cutest little kurmudgeon you'd ever laid eyes on. Like a few of the foals around here. Tossing her rose and lemon colored mane that had been stained with mud and dust, she glanced around the rows of houses.

"Hmm...hey, Starlight, sweetie, what name do we have first on our list?"

The foal rolled out a piece of paper as big as he was he glancing over the first line, only to point out the first house.

"That door with the pr-Oof!" The tiny male went flying as the cart jostled to a halt. Only to get caught by the tail as the filly held the little foal tightly, a relieved sigh escaping her to see him alright as he was gently placed down.

As the pair looked behind them, it was obvious that one of the wheels of the soil filled cart had been caught by a branch.

"What do we do now?"

Removing herself from the harness, the otherwise creme colored filly moved to glance over the branch that had ended up twisted in the wheel. Frowning ever so slightly as she tried to jostle it with her teeth, only to hear the creak of the wood as it got suck tighter in the workings of the cart and only gave up when the cart itself began to groan too.

Well that'd put a damper on things. Glancing to Starlight who looked up at her expectantly, she rubbed a hoof against her head with a slightly perplexed and anxious frown.

"Mmh...don't worry, Star, we'll get this rolling again."

Just at the side of the road, a carefree colt lay sprawled on the ground, lying on a thick, brown wool cloak. The sun felt great on his coat, giving him a warm, toasty feeling all over. He chuckled and shifted his head, letting his mane fall over his face. He'd never been able to enjoy a day like this in the hustle and bustle of Fillydelphia. It was nice to just sit back and enjoy the sun and the breeze without worrying about having to draw anything. That didn't mean he wasn't prepared to; his saddlebags full of art supplies sat next to the cloak on the grass.

He'd heard the sound of hoofsteps clopping on the road a few times before, but usually he could hear them just passing by, fading away in the distance. This time he also heard the creaking of a cart wheel, and both sounds stopped not far away from him, replaced by the voices of a filly and a little foal. They talked about the cart being stuck on a branch. Sounded like something he could help them with!

With a yawn and a groan, he stretched out his legs and slowly rolled over onto his hooves. He shook his head to clear the hair from his eyes and took a look at them. Neither of them were familiar ponies; he saw an adorable little white pegasus foal and red-maned filly with mud all over her hooves. A branch got twisted in the wheel of their cart; it looked like a doozy, too.

"Mmmph. Wow, that looks pretty well-ensconced in there. Let's see if I can do anything with it." He concentrated and tried to move the branch with his glowing horn, but no matter which way he tried to turn it, it just got stuck. It felt pretty heavy, too; he wasn't used to lifting heavy loads with his horn. He was more of a delicate, fine control kind of colt. "Great. Perhaps we should try and cut the branch. Somehow."

The young foal was going off, prancing happily by the side of the road, and hopping to the middle of the trees every now and then. A little pink bunny plushie seemed to be resting on her back, but for her, it was mounting her and entering her joyful games. It had been, of course, a creation of her own, made with the patches she had found along her way on the previous day. Little Candy just loved to explore Ponyville all by herself, even knowing she was pretty young and couldn't risk getting in danger. Her nanny was at home, tidying every single one of her hoofcrafted plushies and her own bedroom, which was usually a mess because of all of the games she played in it. She stopped, inhaling the sweet scent that danced among the breeze.

With her eyes closed, her nose started to catch some weird scents. Flowers?Could it be? A smile formed on her sweet little face and she found out her way right in that moment: follow the road. She just had to find the source of that magnificent and earthy smell, that could give her so many ideas for plushies. Yes, it was weird to think that way, but that was the way little Candy Cotton's head worked at the time. All the time, plushies in her head.

She pranced for some more time, until she managed to catch sight of three ponies around a cart. And the cart was full of... something that discouraged her big fancy smile to keep growing. It actually smelt like something pretty different actually, something she didn't quite know what actually was. She took a few steps to reach for the small group, and poke her head in the middle of them.

"Do you have flowers in there?", she asked who seemed to be an older filly.

It was another morning and another day of having to play salespony at the Marketplace. It certainly wasn't Carrot Fields favorite job, he rather be growing the carrots on the quiet farm then selling them in the busy marketplace, this was more his sister, Purple Haze's thing. She though was in school for the day, which was precisely where he was coming from now that he made sure she was there.

As he approached the central part of town, Carrot noticed that another cart was sitting in the road facing the other way with a small crowd of ponies gathered around it who were looking perplexed. As he came closer he noticed a young unicorn colt attempting to use his magic to free a branch that was caught up in the wheel and having little luck. At first Carrot thought he was the cart's owner, but as he approached closer and notice it was full of dirt and mud, which better seem to match the dusty looking filly watching the unicorn's failed attempts.

"Awrite thaur!" Carrot smiled as he unhooked himself from his own cart, "Mebbe Ah coods help wi' 'at laddie?" Without waiting for a response from the unicorn and wanting to impress the cute filly, Carrot braced himself in front of the wheel and grabbed a hold of the branch with his teeth. The gray earth pony dug his hooves into the dirt and pulled, hard. The large branch slowly moved free from its tangled position as he backed up. Carrot looked like he was going to be successful and thought to himself "surely she'll be impressed", when there was an abrupt loud snap. Carrot suddenly tumbled backwards and landed awkwardly on his keester, half of the branch firmly in his mouth with the other half even more firmly still stuck in the wheel. Not exactly the first impression he hoped to leave on the filly, or the rest of the crowd for that matter.

MudBug was a little suprised at the ammount of attention that was given to her cart, blinking first at the unicorn colt who she was sure she'd seen sprawled out on the side of the road earlier in her ventures, but he seemed rather eager to help out now....or....well try. Watching the branch glow a soft light and barely budge an inch she smiled thankfully to the colt for atleast trying to help out with the cart.

When she opened her mouth to speak however, she got caught off by the cute little filly. What was it with kids around here being so darn cute? The question kind of caught her offguard however as she looked to Starlight who was currently sat between her legs at the new ponies and who looked back up at the muddy filly.

"Starlight, could you...?" She let the question hang as she notioned to the filly and the tiny foal nodded, moving himself to his hooves as he looked to Candy with a bright smile under his helmet.

"Hello, I'm Starlight...Muddy doesn't sell flowers I'm afraid, she sells mud!" The tiny foal smiled.

Now, back to the unicorn. And yet again, she was caught off by another pony, this time another earth pony who tried to wrench the branch out with his teeth. That...yeah maybe that was a bit too much force.

"Uhh, don't you think you're putting too much weight-" The filly cringed at the snap of the branch, watching the red headed stallion roll like a stone with a bit of the branch still in his mouth. "...on it..."

Had he gotten all of it out though? Glancing under the cart, she let out a sigh. No, infact it looked further twisted up into the cart's axel and wheels as she let out a faintly irritated snort, glancing at the two with an arched brow before she forced the irritation into her stomache.

"Atleast you both tried...my name's MudBug and this is my neighbour Starlight." The filly caught herself from falling as she watched the tiny colt slip back between her hooves once more, smiling faintly before she looked to the others.

Looks like Inkwell wasn't the only pony who noticed this filly's cart troubles. A gray colt with an odd accent approached the cart and offered Inkwell his help. "Help? Sure, I could use WHOA, careful!" The other colt just started yanking the branch out of the wheel, pulling with all his might to get the branch out of the wheel. Inkwell started to worry that maybe he'd pull too hard and yank the spokes out in the process, but fortunately, that didn't happen. "Well, um, at least you got part of it out," he said, wincing at the rest of the branch. Now it wouldn't budge the slightest bit; it might as well be a part of the wheel now.

The filly, named MudBug, seemed a bit irritated as she introduced herself and her young companion. Inkwell couldn't help but smile as the little guy talked to another little foal about MudBug's mud selling. "Nice to meet you two. My name's Inkwell. I think I might have another way to solve your problem, but I'll need to concentrate."

He peered a little closer at the branch, practically touching his nose with it, and looked for a weak spot that he could saw through. He'd been studying some spells at the library, and while most of them gave him headaches just trying to concentrate on them, he did get a little cutting spell down, or so he thought. His horn glowed as he concentrated on the branch, slowly sawing through it like he used a tiny saw. One misstep and he'd damage the cart with it instead; hopefully the other ponies would respect his request not to be disturbed.

Candy felt relatively sad when she was told there were no flowers in there. She could use quite some of them to embelish her plushies, crafting them with natural elements. But when she caught sight of another foal like her, she took a few steps in his direction and smiled widely at him. She knew he was feeling embarrassed and pretty shy, but she loved everything in new friends. Specially in those of the same age as hers... She cocked her head to the side and smiled. "Starlight? I'm Candy Cotton.", she said, cocking her head to the other side and then looking at the plushie over her rear. "And this is my little bunny.", she said, making the plushie jump a bit on her back. She looked back at the rainbow maned foal. "What seems to be the neigh all about huh? Something wrong with this mud cart?", truth was, she hadn't even realized there was some sort of a problem going on in the spot she had just arrived in. While she awaited an answer, she looked around and saw another stallion she still hadn't seen, looking at him closely. "Wish I had magic in my own horn that could help you out with... whatever it is.", she said, sighing as sadly as her honest heart told her to.

Little did she know how wrong she was. When she looked up at the stallion, his red mane had tickled her small nose, which made her twitch it quite some times and try to avoid a sneeze. However, it was helpless. A huge sneeze -for her size that is- came out, making her be projected backwards. But it wasn't the only thing that had happened with that sneeze. A little ray of light came out of her blue horn, hitting the branch on the wheel just in the right spot, but without Candy's control. It broke into tiny pieces, disappearing right away. The young filly shook her head in amaze, looking around.

Carrot felt like the biggest fool. Sure, he cleared branches from the wheels of his own cart almost every day, but without fail - but put him in front of a filly and he'd break the branch, fall on his keester, and look like a total klutz. He shook his head, his tail flicking to brush the dust off his rump, as the young beige unicorn colt was giving it a second go.

Suddenly, there was a burst of light, a tiny little squeak of a sneeze, and the remaining branch was reduced to toothpicks. While Carrot was glad the wheel was finally free, it made him feel all the more a klutz watching a foal do better by accident what he had been able to do while actually trying. He gave a snort, and winked at the little while Pegasus foal, trying to glaze over his self-consciousness by joking about it. "Well, see, that'll teach me t'try t' show off, dinnae it? Oi guess she has a real knack for magic".

Carrot turned back to his own cart to get back on his way, feeling a little awkward about the whole situation, but stopped after only a couple limping steps. He paused, then started again, more slowly, his right rear leg stepping very lightly. "Well that is ginnae stay with me fer the rest of the day; good job genius".

Watching the red headed stallion get a grip on his hooves, she was about to speak when she was cut off again. Only this time it was more a shock than anything. When that little ball of magic started flitting about the group like a rocketed firefly after the little unicorn had sneezed, the filly had to rear up in suprise before settling her hooves protectively either side of the little colt who was now shaking underneath her.

Eyes settling on the ball of light once they could focus, she watched as the branch practically exploded before her eyes settled on the little filly reponsible.

She did that?

MudBug just had to stare for a moment or two before letting out her words that mingled with a soft chuckle.

"Hehe WOW kid, that was awesome!" Looking briefly to the colts, she couldn't help but notice the embarassment on the red head's face and how he was interacting with Starlight.

Said little colt just blinking slightly before offering the tiniest of smiles, still nervous of all the ponies but slipping out and looking at the candy maned unicorn particularly.

"How did you do that? That was amazing!" He blurted out, tiny tail ticking away.

Whilst Starlight socialised, MudBug tested the cart, sliding back into her harness and wheeling it back and forth. A sigh of relief escaping her as it moved smoothly before glancing to the others. She'd have been totally in the pits if not for this lot.

"Thanks, you guys saved my flank, I'd have never been able to deliver my dirt without all your help." They did help. The little Unicorn may have zapped the branch completely but it was an awesome team effort.

The bad news is that he is concentration was interrupted, but the good news is that it didn't matter. He'd sawed through half of the biggest part of the branch when that little unicorn foal accidentally vaporized the whole thing. After a brief check to see that his little saw spell didn't damage any part of the cart, he stood back up and shrugged. "Oh well. Thanks for the save, little lady," he told Candy Cotton.

Seems that the other good Samaritan wasn't so quick to shrug off the pointlessness of his efforts. "The important thing is that you tried," he said as Carrot walked back to his own cart. Seems that he hurt himself in his attempt to help Mudbug! "Um, need any help?" Inkwell asked, walking up to Carrot's side and putting a hoof on his shoulder. He looked back at the other three ponies, who looked happy to be able to transport their special mud now.

Candy shook her head once again, sniffing a little bit and still not quite realizing what had just happened. Truth was, she had never been able to control her naughty horn very well. But she couldn't wait until she was an all grown up filly and she could be able to control it. Because most of the times, it ended up messing up with her craftings or even with her playtime games. And the worst moments were when she had a cold, and kept messing around with her house. Which amazingly made her nanny laugh truly hard.

"This messy horn starts to gimme lots of trouble...", she mumbled, taking a few steps to reach for Starlight. "I still can't control the lil ammount of magic I possess.", she said, her ears perking down for a moment and a little frown showing up on her face. Even though she knew she couldn't quite take a hoof on her magic, that made her feel embarrassed when her horn worked out when it shouldn't. It was hard to get used to it... But she had to pull herself together and show she was no scaredy filly and it wouldn't be because of her almost helpless magic that she would hide from the world.

She smiled soon after and her ears perked up again. "But I'm glad I helped!", she squeaked, hopping in her spot for a moment. "Now the Mud Miss will be able to see her mud!", she then added, sounding even happier.

Carrot did his best to hide his limp; he obviously landed awkwardly on some rock or something. He didn't want to show that though, remembering how the "auld man" would snarl at him every time he hurt himself on the farm and how "real stallions wark through it!" However it seemed neither his injury nor his effort didn't go unnoticed when the beige unicorn colt offered encouragement and assistance.

If Carrot was his father, he would have dismissed the young colt's offer of help coldly, but he wasn't like that, and he wasn't going to be like that either. Carrot smiled kindly back at the unicorn and nodded, "Cheers but Ah hink Ah will be alrecht, Ah best be gonnae thocht".

He looked over his cart of carrots to sell and the telescope that he always brought, just in case. He looked back at the other cart with the filly about to start again and sighed. Nae wait ... mebbe Oi kin make a guid impression efter aw! Carrot turned around, his flank twinging a little, "Umm, ho ye miss..umm, Ah am sorry Ah dinnae catch ye ur yer yoong friends' names"

Chuckling a little at the 'mud miss' comment, she had to smile at the little unicorn filly before her eyes wandered over to Carrot, worry slowly pealing over her features as she took a few steps closer to the unicorn who was currently trying to aid the other. Leaving Starlight in the company of the other little foal.

Had he hurt himself? She felt a little bad now, if he'd hurt himself trying to help her she was feeling a little guilty now despite the fact he was trying to put a strong face over his pain.

Starlight watched on from where he sat next to Cotton, smiling at the filly briefly as she mentioned her magic and then spread out his tiny wings to flap them weakly.

"That's okay, I can't fly properly!"

MudBug blinked as she was adressed by the hurt stallion and then smiled faintly, atleast he was trying to put on a strong face infront of the foals. Briefly resting her hooves on the cart whilst she was asked her name, the filly offered a small smile towards the other.

"Name's MudBug, and the little fella over there is Starlight, what's your name tough guy?" She smirked playfully.

Inkwell blinked and gave Carrot another look. He... thought he understood what Carrot said, but that accent was so thick you could use it to roof a house. All Inkwell needed to do was pick out the word "alrecht", though. "So be it. I just wanted to make sure." He nodded and walked back over to the other cart, where it appeared the two foals were bonding nicely. It was a picture-perfect moment, and before Inkwell knew it, he had his sketchbook out and was making a framework of the muddy filly and her young companions. The drawing didn't feature them in the exact positions they were in now, but he improvised.

Carrot moved past him to talk to them, and Inkwell managed to snap out of his trance just in time to step aside. After a brief pause, he decided to add Carrot and himself to the drawing, too. He gave himself a chuckle at the hint of feistiness MudBug displayed, addressing Carrot as "tough guy."

The young filly took a closer look at the other foal's body. So he was a pegasus! She had always been jealous of the ones that had wings, and that could wander around the clouds. See rainbows up closely, watch how everypony down there seemed to be so small, just as small as an ant! What a life. Candy Cotton had never lifted her tiny hooves out of firm soil, and even though she loved the opportunities she had down in Ponyville, but with a sight of the skies... she could possibly craft even more plushies of everything that habited in there. That could be such an amazing experience!

She shook those thoughts away and smiled widely. "Wow, you have wings! That must be so amazing!", she said, "I bet that when you manage to fly you'll be the best flier around!", she then added. She was that happy for meeting a true pegasus, even more for being a pegasus that met her age.

Carrot smiled as he walked over to Mudbug's cart, just the slightest limp to his step.  He didn't want to make the large bruise out to be anything.  He wasn't sure if that was why she called him a 'tough guy', but he hoped instead it was merely a compliment.  "Ye kin call me Carrot Fields, oon it's bonnie t'meet ye, Mudbug."

Carrot lowered his head and upper body down so to be at Starlight's level, to appear less intimidating, "An' giddae there, Starlight, bonnie t'meet ye too, lad!  Quite th' cap ye got there!  Ye must be one fast flyer!"  Looking over at the young unicorn, "Oon yer friend here has quite th' magic touch!"  He winked and smiled before standing back up, looking over to the cute filly once more.

Carrot blushed and shuffled his forehoof while looking sort of downward, "So, ummm ... Would ye  and umm, yer lil' kin here need more help deliverin' yer umm...", he looked over to see what exactly she *was* delivering, "Umm, yer dirt? Ye a dirt farmer?"

Starlight noticed the older unicorn as he was apparently drawing, his head tilted at him and then to the little filly with a faint blush to his cheeks. And it just GREW when the red haired stallion adressed him, shrinking into his shoulders slightly as one little hoof shyly scuffed at the ground and glanced to his neighbour who watched the proceedings.

With a coersive nod from the older filly, the tiny colt gulped and pushed himself up on his hooves. Looking up at Carrot curiously.

"I-I can't fly, sir...."

There was a smile on Mud's face, atleast he was trying. She had to give him that and seeing the little foal all shy and nervous made the filly smile brighter before her eyes turned back to Carrot. Help?

He wanted to help her and Star out on her deliveries? Her smile grew a little and she looked over her mud with an arched brow, could you be a dirt farmer? She supposed you could be, but she didn't really consider herself to be on ein the long run.

"Huh? Oh no, I enjoy working with mud, I find different vitamin and mineral enriched soil deposits in specific area's for ponies or landscape for them, it's my talent to work with dirt."

There we go. Inkwell managed to get down a basic enough framework for his sketch; the basic shapes composing Muddy's cart and the five ponies in the picture were still visible, but he could always erase those later. He caught the three more grown-up ponies in their own conversation, and the foals in another; he was especially proud of the facial expressions he gave them. Now to talk to them for real.

"A pleasure to meet you, Carrot Fields. My name is Inkwell." He approached the two foals when Carrot did, and lowered his head as well, though Inkwell wasn't quite as big as Carrot and probably couldn't have intimidated a foal if he tried. "I'm sure you'll learn how to fly eventually, little guy! It took me a while to learn how to use this horn, too!" He couldn't help smiling in the presence of this shy little foal; he was adorable!

Then his attention turned to Mud's talk of enriched soil. He didn't even know a pony could base her life around mud and soil, but he guessed it made sense the more he thought about it. "Yes, I can see that you have a rather intimate relation with it," he noted, glancing at Muddy's soiled hooves, which were starting to dry out and become caked instead of dripping with mud. "Does that include the fancy kind of mud that spa ponies put on their face and/or bathe in?"

The little baby colored filly smiled at everypony else, loving to hear them talk so happily. She then caught one of them sketching, and she hopped happily to his side. "Oh, oh oh! And I am Candy Cotton, plushie crafter sir.", she said, proudly raising a hoof and taking it to her chest while she stood on her back legs. That was something she was truly proud of. She was that young, but she had a grown-up job, just like she kept telling herself. And her smile grew even wider everytime she presented herself, even if she wanted to look serious.

After her proud presentation, she took a sneak peek at the drawing, giggling a bit in her filly-ish way. "You draw very well, sir! I wish I had your talent so that I could be able to come up with some new ideas for my plushies!", she said, almost wanting to ask him to teach her. Of course she wasn't brave enough to do such a thing, but oh well. She was happy just for watching the shapes and facial expressions he had been drawing.

((Sorry about the long time I took to reply everypony... I wanna make her cutie mark appear on this roleplay, if that wouldn't mind you :P ))

[[OOC - Kalpira, I don't mind that in the slightest ;) ]]

Carrot smiled, "Aye, ye must be pretty popular with th' local farmers and gardeners! Would that be who ye are seein' now?" He smiled inquisitively, hoping to make the filly feel more at ease. He didn't have much in the way of intentional charm, and he wasn't good at flirting, but at least as far as he figured, he could still be helpful and at least get to know her. "Oi, umm, Oi ask 'cause Oi'm new t'the area an' a farmer, moiself. Carrots, t'be exact, an' Oi would love t'have yer expertise on th' soil in moi farm. Maybe, umm ... ye can stop by my farm sometime. I cannae pay ye in bits yet, but Oi could pay a few bushels of carrots, if'n y'all are top with that. That is, if ye are nae too busy, and if ye dinnae mind."

Carrot turned to Starlight wanted to assure the little guy. Smiling softly, "Well, wit' at yer get up, Oi bet ye're practicing really hard and will be flying fast in no time at all. In fact Oi wouldnae doubt it if yer cutie mark will be about speed, ye'll be sae fast!", he winked. "Maybe ye'll impress all the fillies, like the little cute lassie ye have here wit' the amazing magic?" Looking over to the young unicorn filly with the colt who has been quietly drawing this entire time, "Ah am sorry, Ah ne'er caught yer nam lass".

((Don't mind Kalpira))

Smirking a little at how lively the foals were, the older filly couldn't help but chuckle good naturedly to herself before her attention was brought back to Carrot and she arched a brow slightly. He really had an out of town accent, but it didn't bother her, just meant it took longer for her to analyse what in the hay he was saying.

Eventually though it all started to ring together nicely and she understood it all, ears flicked forward at the farmer bit as she smirked to herself. Yeah, she supposed she was. She often helped out now and then with the acre's soil, soft, loamy, but firm under a few levels so the tree's didn't go uprooted.

Glancing briefly to Inkwell, she let out a soft 'pfft' and waved a hoof gently in his direction.

"That's about the only mud those prissy filly's like to get their hooves stuck into, but yeah, they ask for special mineral mud."

Her attention was returned to Carrot for a moment before she smiled, a bushel of carrots for payment? Hmm. Raising a hoof at her chin in thought and dusting it with the cake of her mud.

"Well I'd love too! Always good to get your hooves in new soil!"

Starlight watched all of them, a little overwhelmed by all these new ponies and Carrot's comment made the tiny white foal blush ever so slightly. He'd be fast maybe...but he just wanted to fly. Being fast didn't really matter to him.

Inkwell turned back to look at Candy Cotton, who just about melted his heart. Maybe he just had a soft spot for foals in general. She made stuffed dolls and sounded rather proud of her job. "Well now, I'd love to see some of your work sometime! And thanks for the compliment. Maybe we could work together sometime, and I could show you the way around a pencil." He went back to work on drawing Candy some more, giving her a big, beaming smile.

And of course MudBug's defiant attitude towards the more well-groomed ponies in town made him smile, too. "I've heard it does wonders for the skin. I should really try it sometime." He wasn't the sort of pony to let himself get too unkempt... unless something distracted him from grooming, which wasn't unusual.

Candy Cotton's face lightened up even more when the stallion told her he could teach her how to sketch. Well she didn't need to be a professional like him, but just the fact to know how to throw a few lines into a piece of paper made her feel happier. Within her heart, she was throwing a huge party and screaming inside her lungs. Her eyes were now sparkling like Princess Celestia's crown, and she had a huge silly smile on her face. "Reeeeeeally?", she squeaked, not realizing the stallion was already talking to the other pony that went by the name of Mudbug. "That would be AWESOME!", she then squeaked some more.

Leaving her spot, she started jumping happily around and circling them, trying not to get too far away. "Yay! Candy Cotton will learn how to draw! I will draw plushies! Plushies for everyone. Yaaaaay!"

Carrot gave a sincere and soft smile to the cute earth pony. Even though she seemed happy, he wasn't sure a few bushels of carrots would really be enough for what he was asking of her - that sort of help could really improve his crop. "If ye dinnae mind, like Oi said before, Oi could help ye with yer deliveries, if ye like, as another bit o payment fer yer help." He rubbed the back of his head with his forehoof shyly - it would seem no matter the subject he would be shy around a pretty filly, "Umm ... that is, if ye and yer lil' friends dinnae mind a whit."

Looking towards Starlight, he smiled as nicely as possible as he lowered himself again to be at the little Pegasus' eye level, glad that the pain was already starting to recede from the bruise. "If yer bonnie companion is aeright with me help, ye kin ride standing on me back, then ye'll be a little higher tae th' sky! Spread yer wings tae feel th' wind, an' ye'll be flyin' in nae time, lad!" Waiting on the little white Pegasus' answer, Carrot watched the young unicorn foal bounce around the whole lot of them, singing in glee about how she was going to learn how to draw. Looking back at Starlight "You have quite the enthusiastic little girlfriend", he winked.

Before getting back up he looked over at the unicorn still busy drawing away, "Joining us as well?"

Watching all the peeps surrounding her cart, she couldn't help but feel a little amused. How chaotic this all was, but chaos was good, in small doses, like crowd chaos or playtime chaos, that sort of chaos...not the super bad chaos. That could get a little messy and not the good kind either.

As she looked to Carrot, MudBug gave a soft smile at the thought of a new, muddy track of farmland to play around on and getting her hooves into some fresh new dirt. That'd be fun. Something new. But the shyness in the stallion made her muzzle purse slightly in a giggle that she stifled quite expertly, making her snort ever so in her stifling.

"Sure, I got quite a few deliveries and you guys did help me out a lot." The dusty maned pony said with a smile.

Starlight blinked his large eyes up at Carrot, going a little red at the girlfriend comment. She wasn't his girlfriend! That's silly.

But the thought of riding on another's back made him smile a little impishly...wow he really was small. Never the less he nodded and stood beside Carrot before wondering...how in Equestria was he meant to get up there?
