From the album: The Character Corner (Color!)

It's been a long time since I played this pony but I'm trying to get back into the habit of playing her. Since she's found a new job recently and it's been so long, she needed a new look.

Apple Bloom fell back from the counter, wiping the hard-earned sweat off of her brow. A few customers were getting a bit antsy with their words, saying how it wasn't right how some ponies got cider and others didn't and what a waste of time it was. Yet they'd be back tomorrow and Apple Bloom'd serve 'em all the same. The Apples well knew the passions their products could easily inflame in the hearts of others and didn't hold against them the flowing filth that screeched out of some mouths. If you were denied a taste of heaven, wouldn't you be cranky? Speaking of cranky, Apple Bloom had to roll her shoulder once or twice to get some soreness out of it. Talk about a workout! "Wooo-wee Applejack, that was a good first day! Mah crank-hoof's gonna feel it once tha season's over. Whatcha want me ta do now?" the filly asked as she approached her sis, ready and willing to take some additional orders. Hours had passed and the day grew long but her energy had yet to be fully spent. -------------------------------------------------- Somecreature whose willpower for the day had been spent was Gallus, whose mouth was agape at the knowledge that the day's cider had been sold. They had all year to prepare for this and they ran out this quickly? It was busier than it had any reason to be yeah but did they really just prepare a few hours worth of cider and then pump more for the next day? That was absurd. This as absurd. Everything was absurd because he didn't have a mug of cider and he could smell it and it smelled good. Damnit! "Oh what, really? You're out already!? I thought the Apples were supposed to be good at preparing for this event!" He yelled, though it would be hard to be heard over the din. It died down quickly enough- ponies held their anger so briefly. Good on them. Good for him. That meant he'd be the one to get cider at some point. Forcing his anger to evaporate was Silverstream's excited report about a new type of pony and how excited she was to know that this line provided for something else other than fuel for Gallus' frustrations. It, for example, gave him fuel for another idea. "Yeah...well I guess we'll have to come even earlier tomorrow. Hey, Silverstream- wanna camp out here together? You might need to go and get a tent or a bag though. I don't have a lot of room," he offered, happy to spend time with a friend rather than alone. Especially with that black griffoness and her indecent floof.

Heeeeeeeeeeeey all. Decided to try this out again since I've had a grand ol time drawing other's OCs. I have some sample art below! 1 slot per person and I'll start out with 3 slots. Willing to work from descriptions! Oh! And tell me a little about your OC or just link their profile! I just need to know what they're like to help get my ideas together. Thanks for the interest! 1. Taira kept up his run on the mill, "I understand." he said with a nod of his head. He kept the response short since he wanted to save his breath for this sustained sprint. The wolf was mildly miffed knowing he'd be on longer than usual, but he gave his word and there was no way he was going to break it. If he was in this for the long haul there was no use crying about it... At least the scenery was nice. In the crowd he saw Blueblood looking his way and gave the prince a smile from the distance. He could also see quite a few interesting faces. That blue Griffin was interesting to watch awkwardly talk with that admittedly attractive member of his species. It was almost like watching himself as a pup talking to the rest of the pack on the mountain. The rest in the line that caught his attention were so fascinating looking. Was that a griffin with the hindquarters of a pony and a stallion with bat wings? There were so many he'd need to make sure to pester... someday he'd have to sneak into that school and see what the fuss was about.

RECKLESS Art by the awesome: GoldenDaze! Reckless was a liiiiitle late getting herself up and outta her tent. "Whew! What in Celestia happen-..." Her exclamation cut off as she realized she wasn't the only pony around. It was true though, Celestia only knew what she'd gotten into last night. She was, in fact, in a line... a very long line. "Why was I here again?" She tapped chin thoughtfully for a moment before the commotion further up the line drifted down to her. "Ah! Sweet Apple Acres cider!" She trotted in place for a moment, excited to taste some of that amazing golden goodness! She just wished she didn't have to wait in this dang line! The hybrid bat checked out the scene. Lots of ponies, yep, looooots of ponies. Most were run of the mill regular Ponyville ponies, bleh. Boring. Some were a bit more flooty and snooty, and some were ahha! Some were famous! She spied the pretty no, beautiful pink unicorn up at the front of the line. "Well, if I'm gonna do this I better do it right!" She ran a hoof through her mussed up hot pink mane to "fix it" as best she could. The bat pone trotted up like she owned the place, ignoring the ponies along that way that gave her stares of irritation for cutting the line. "What?" She smirked at one such fussy bottomed pony. "I'm just gonna go say hi to my friend!" A little closer and she could see that that same beautiful unicorn, who just happened to be fairly famous too, was hoofed over a mug of the good stuff! "Perfect timing!" She slowed to a calm walked and sidled up next to the fancy mare. "Hey there sweetness." Her words issued silky smooth like the feel of that perfect cider.

For all of his eccentrics, Applejack knew that Swift Squall was a good stallion. Sometimes he wanted too badly to be too good and it was too much for ponies to take. It came across more cringey or vexing than charming. She knew in her heart of hearts though that there were few Equestrians as good and decent deep down than he, and with the drive and compassion to show it. Maybe that was why he was able to get one of Equestria's finest mares to put up with goofiness enough to marry him! He was a lucky fella. If Applejack wasn't as enamored with her prismatic pegasus marefriend as she was, she wouldn't say no to at least a dinner date with Captain Walker. One of Equestria's best mares and one of her top stallions? Talk about a match made to print! "You bet yer booties we'll be thar. Apple Bloom's wanted to attend another fancy wedding ever since these two tied up. Get yer plans squared away!" Applejack said with a hearty laugh as she rump-bumped RD upon her return. "Make sure she has a nice front row seat with a pretty dress to wear, no wedding is complete without it." As she snickered to herself, she was overwhelmed by a pleasant princess presence. It was always good to talk to a momma who loved being a momma as much as Applejack loved being a momma. It was less exciting when the momma in question could crush you like a grape in her excitement. And then far less exciting when she practically did so! Applejack put on a brave face even as she felt the life being squeezed out of by an equally smiling mare. She was finally released and took a breath. As she regained herself she allowed herself to imagine an alicorn chatterbox foal and it was very scary because it was almost, almost as adorable as Zap Apple. Nothing would ever compete, but it was close. "Wowee, yer certan you ain't wrestlin' nopony on tha weekends? You've got one iron-hard hug thar, Princess!" She said as she cracked her back, eyes glistening with excitement. "Oh land's sake, he is so active now! This filly here's always flyin' about bein' all distractin; and such and Zap's always on tha move. Try trackin' down an overactive little pegasus colt as an Earth Pony- its like tryin' ta tie down a family of wild boars with a single strand of rope. Here, Ah have pictures!" Applejack said with feverish glee as she reached into her saddlebag and pulled out what, as it unfolded, could only be called an overstuffed photo album. And then out came the pictures. Applejack had never been one for keeping photography nearby because of the expense but that side of her seemed to wander off after Zap Apple had been born. She had burned through a generation's worth of photography in a few short years. Pictures of him smiling, yawning, crawling, flying, eating, sleeping, taking a bath, running from Winona, hugging Winona, flying around while a diaper was falling off, being hugged, being snuggled, being mischievous, getting caught, crying, giggling, laughing, being tickled, playing around, horsing around, wigh his toys, with Applejack's old toys, playing with with family, running from family, being pure and innocent, being a little devil, falling down, having a booboo, crying crocodile tears, sleeping with Winona, playing dress up with his aunt and cousin, dancing to songs he didn't understand, trying to sing them, trying to buck apples, trying to help pull a cart, trying to help bake a pie, helping by drawing pictures of the day's events, being propped up next to the sales stand, trying to eat the overwhelming amont of bits AJ was racking up because of him, confused with dozens of lipstick markings on him, jumping up and down in the mud, pouting when he wasn't allowed back inside until Apple Bloom cleaned his hooves up, and him proudly flying out of the family bathroom with toilet paper stuck to his hooves. Each picture had a story and Applejack was more than happy and willing to share the stories with the Princess, and always seeking out stories of Flurry Heart in the only way two mothers could.

“Huh,” Flash commented as Pretezas wrapped up her story about Empress... Yu, or so her name apparently was. “You’d think Yu’s handlers would have tried harder to chase you off. But I guess not even an Empress is immune to Pres’s charms, heh heh.” The stallion gave his date a playful wink. As if on cue, Flash Sentry himself blushed in the face of the painter pony’s charm when she played up his skill as a protector. Personally, Flash knew better than to believe he could take on a party of Viking Caribou... even one alone would pose a highly challenging threat! Nonetheless, the Corporal had the good sense of projecting outer confidence by giving his companion a return nuzzle. “Oh yes,” remarked the pegasus; “They’re the caribou clan that paint themselves blue. We’ve been seeing more of those guys around Canterlot recently, especially going in and out of the Clan Askr Ambassador’s residence. Wonder what’s up with that? So Pres, did you manage to make any caribou friends on your last voyage to Whitescar?”

This land is so hot! Rin knew from the stories she read about how hard the sun could beat down on a pony, but now she could feel it first-hoof. In all the comics about outlaws and marshalls, Rin imagined of one day trotting down these paths. Having finally made it to the west she had to admit she needed time to get used to this. She could feel sweat in so many places. Her persistence in her long walk did eventually pay off. The gray ryuma wiped the sweat from her brow and turned around to retrieve a canteen from her wagon. "Maybe I can get a hat while I'm here... That'd be so useful." She took a heavy gulp of water, "So much to see... I actually made it to the west." Just being able to hear herself say those words filled Rin's body with renewed vigor as her excitement grew. No need to worry about all that mess back home. She could make a new living for herself out here! All she really had to do was make sure she got the parts for her wing's maintenance now and then. She could meet real settler ponies, Live off the land, get all tough and have singalongs at the saloon. Maybe she could make some ramen for some of the ponies here. Maybe if she brought along her water bottle she'd be good on energy for the rest of the day. She'd only just made it to Appleloosa: Seeing the sights was an absolute must. One sight in the immediate area caught her attention. Was that a kirin? One of group of the past who migrated to the west to isolate themselves? That needed some investigation. Experimentally, Rin called out the kirin bolting down the path. She called out in Neighponese to try and get her attention, "[Hello! Are you visiting too?]"

The alicon looked excited when Rex offered a demonstration, then when he did, her wing went to her face out of exasperation... and embarrassment... oh she was glad a certain one of her friends wasn't there... in her mind she could clearly hear Dash's voice laughing at her saying 'Oh he got you good!' She sighed, lowering her wing and taking a deep breath "I deserved that..." she said "always getting too wrapped up in research and possible new discoveries that I often completely miss the little things in life" she admitted, returning the parchment, quill and ink to her saddlebags "Sorry I got carried away and harassed you so much" It was at this time that there was a green flash above the cloaked pony and a dozen sheets of neatly-bound parchment fell on her head... followed by two bottles of ink (which she thankfully caught in her horn's glow before they hit the floor and broke) as well as several extra quills. She let out an awkward laugh "I guess I wont be needing these after all... I better just send them back with a note" she explained as she scribbled something on the top of the parchment, and in a similar green flash all the instruments of research documentation vanished "I'd like to make it up to you, how about since we're already here how about we get some icecream, my treat" she offered

Name: Rex Aurea Caelo Sex: Male Species: Bird people from the movie (Dunno their name.) Gray parrot. Age: Adult Eye Color: Golden yellow Character Color: Gray, mixed with white in small dots over his body Mane/Tail: His mane, as it were, is a short mohawk that flops over towards his right side, the back half being a pale yellow and the front being a dark red. Physique: He is a very well-muscled bird, indicative of someone who works out a lot and keeps himself in shape. He is of average height for his kind. Residence: Roam Occupation: Actor and painter, occasional sailor to find new subjects for his art. Cutie Mark: N/A Unique Traits: Mimicry; He is able to mimic many different sounds, on top of voices, making him very good at voice-acting or sounding different when acting in general. Memory; To compliment his mimicry is his great memory that allows him to store the different sights and sounds in his brain for later use whether that is mimicking the sound or painting a picture. Agility; He is deceptively agile, despite his musculature, enough that he is an effective member of a ship's crew, which is often how he pays his way. Combat Training; He has trained in hands-free combat, as well as utilizing knives or, his favorite, a gladius in one hand with the other empty. He mostly trained to make combat scenes more realistic and to protect himself and those around him. History: Growing up was a rather pleasant experience for him, with two loving parents in a peaceful town. He found his love for art early on, often drawing pictures of the surrounding landscapes and the people around them. Unfortunately that meant he started running out of subjects as he grew up, which drove him to explore wider and wider areas in search of more subjects for his art. At the same time, his growing knowledge of sounds made him start to explore his abilities in mimicry. The crowds he sometimes drew would awaken his desire to become an actor, and he continued to expand outwards until he hit the sea. The only way he could keep going was to become a sailor, and so he did. Life on the sea was actually pretty nice, and he enjoyed it until he found Roam. Inspired by the city and its architecture, he made his home there. He explored still from time to time, but now he always returned to Roam eventually. Personality: He is generally a very nice person, donating extra proceeds from his work to those in need and keeping only enough to keep himself living comfortably with a safety savings to fall back on. He'll often play small pranks using his mimicry, though he kept it small in most cases so they were seen as jokes. He is very patient, rather slow to anger and only really fighting when it’s necessary. Summary: An artistic bird that enjoys helping those in need.

Zap loved spending time in his airborne mother's house. It was a change of pace. Farm living was what shaped his bring-up the most, but his pegasus nature could not be overlooked and a place that was basically a floating cloud appealed to the young winged pony's internal instincts. As a plus, there was no high chair! Zap was starting to grow, much to the surprise of all the older ponies around him. They always commented on how much he had done so. He was ready to move on though. Move on from the high chairs, and the strollers, and the leash. A makeshift leash made from traditional rope Applejack made in order to keep her flighty son from getting away on what she deemed mandatory walks. Emphasis on the walk. "Hm-hmm!" Zap agreed, as he finished the last of his applesauce and stepped off his cloud chair to walk around the kitchen. Zap knew his mothers had big plans for today, but he had always assumed that he would join them. He always did. Why would they have someone watch him? And who was this him? "Who is watching me?" As Rainbow Dash continued to quickly throw some of Zap's things in the living room for activities, she mentioned his name was Gallus. "Gallus?" Zap tilted his head and spoke with a little adolescent sass. "Is that one of the Wonderbolt reserves?" In truth he was thinking about Soarin, who had been a professional Wonderbolt for many years, but always appeared to Zap as much less competent than his mother. He had met him once during a Wonderbolt social event. As Dash flew around the rooms to gather material for him, he quickly got the feeling that he would be left out, and he did not like the idea of having somepony he didn't know watch him for an entire day, while his parents had fun without him. "But, Dashie." Zap knew Applejack as mom. And Rainbow Dash had gotten regulated to the cute shorter version of her name. But sometimes a Momdash would slip. "I don't want to stay here and be foalsat. I wanna go with you and Mommy." Suddenly he heard with his mother the descending flapping of wings followed by a confident knock on the front door. It didn't have the same familiar pound that usually would come from the hard surface of a horseshoe.

The hippogriff's feathered ears fell back at the unfortunate news that according to Applejack, the meal vouchers the students were given were completely worthless outside of the school's campus. Her smile left, too, her beak curling downwards to match the trajectory of her mood. As Applejack expressed her understanding that her customer had no real money, Silverstream looked down with embarrassment, thinking subconsciously about how she would have to explain this to the gang. But then, the apple mare gave her an out. Silverstream would have to earn the money used to buy the apples herself in the near future, and she would have to take a class on money. Things were looking up, and Silverstream was immediately pleased with this kind of deal. She didn't even want to be blamed for trespassing onto the farm but now she would have a work-related reason as to why she would come here to come across inevitable new discoveries. There was only one thing troubling the pink birdpony. "That's sound's fair, Professor Applejack. But um, I just have one question." Silverstream perplexed herself on the hearing of a phrase that seemed randomly thrown in by the earth pony. Could it have been a mistake? Does Applejack even make mistakes? "You said something about kisses on the cheek? Is that some sort of Ponyville expression?"

"Oh, the project went great! Gallus and I weren't sure if we should focus on the integral foundation of Appleloosa or the rise of Ourtown's individuality resolution. We ended up doing a presentation on Appleloosan society since there were more written accounts on the settlement. Plus, when trying to ask some of the school staff about Ourtown, I either couldn't find the ponies I was looking for or they seemed to not want to talk about it. Sugar Belle wasn't at the Ponyville marketplace like she usually is, and Councilor Starlight suggested we shouldn't do a project on Ourtown. She didn't say why." Silverstream shrugged, knowing only so much as to what the result of her findings were, while at the same time having little clue as to the context of such a circumstance. Silverstream reached underneath her right wing and pulled out six pieces of folded paper. "Um, I'm not sure how much forty bits is in meal vouchers." Silverstream put all six vouchers on the counter. Each of the vouchers had an identification stamp on them. One from Gallus, one from Smolder, one from Sandbar, one from Ocellus, one from Yona, and one from Silverstream herself. "Is that alright?" The students that came to the school were sponsored by their kind who enrolled them. The cost of their attendance to the school was often dealt with without the knowledge of the students as to how. They were given rooms and meal tickets and most other amenities at the school were provided to them. Silverstream was lucky to get any spending money from home as an allowance, but she wouldn't be sure what to do with the bits if she had them, or what they would be worth. Being in the royal family in Seaquestria already provided the situation of a young hippogriff not having experience with the use of currency. Tack on to that the lack of financial responsibility in a young student and you have a cute pink hippogriff unaware of the value things to buy and sell at. Gallus was rumored to be poor and without a family to lean on financially, but he also had meal tickets like any other student at the school. And so to Silverstream, she thought of herself as equals among her fellow classmates and hadn't thought of wondering what the going rate of a bushel of apples was. Sandbar probably knew.

As the Hexxer managed to bind the cyborg and try to disable he she sensed something amiss. Some spark of life had returned! Inaddition to some activity of consciousness on the par to her bound victim, Lus was going to retract the shadows... but then a blinding blast of furious flame burned away her bindings and gave her body a mean burn. Hexxer leapt backwards reflexively. The shadowconjuring mare stare down Nerezza as she cradled that pony, "I'm generally not in the business of ending lives and believe it or not, I've not met the sentinel." She looked to the pitiable creature in the dark mirror of cadence's hooves, "I'm sorry for hurting you... If you need help getting your mind and control back, I can send you to someponies who can do more with technology than that Dimestore princess can ever hope to do with you." "Lightning Dust... Don't look directly at her, There's an even better pink pony who can help you out I'm sure... one that puts this one to shame!"

Magnus simply returned the female griffon’s nod, looking around at the rest of the line. Was that Blueblood back there? Huh, well that’s fine. When the line devolved into a mob, he growled in annoyance before starting to fight his way to the front. If they wanted to play this way, he was more than willing to reciprocate as he pushed through the crowd.

"Why you......!!!" Ossia started, when the 'smoke bomb' gone off. Alicorn knew immediately that pest was untraceable by magical means. Worse yet, she was simply o busy to do this by ordinary means. It seems that she will have to let this one slide.....for now. "Cheeky little pest...." di Nerezza gritted her teeth before taking a big sniff "....a Neighponeese pest. Enjoy the life you have quilin. You will never know when I will drop by to end it. And visit I will." the pink mare gave her threat into the empty air. "Now then...." Ossia turned around in the air before descending. Just in time to witness what Hexxer was doing while she herself was distracted. And what a sight it was! "Ufufufufufu....." Ossia chuckled while applauding the dullahan. Did Hexxer knew that what she was doing amounted to torture? Or was she trying to finish cyborg quickly. Well, even if intent wasn't there, it was the deed that counts. "....Superb! I didn't thought you had this in you Miss....Ufufufu....I don't believe you introduced yourself to Me. You still surpassed my expectations." alicorn complimented the headless mare before turning towards cocooned LD.... "Normally I would wait until you're done tearing off the wings from this iron butterfly..." di Nerezza mused while her magical aura flared up "...but business should come before pleasure...." With that Ossia launched the blast of amaranth fire, one that 'peeled off' the shadows from Dust from it's sheer intensity. ".....Sentinel should teach you that, right? Unless she's as great teacher as she is sister. Talk about faulty education." pink mare giggled, amused by her own dig at Celestia before she walked up to now freed cyborg. Nerezza picked up the helpless pegasus from the other wold with her magic. It was time to interrogate her where the gateway was. "Rise and shine Tin Mare! Now spill up what you know and I won't spill up your...." Ossia started but quickly stopped. Not because Dust obviously didn't heard anything. No, the look in those eyes was.... "I am not talking to the Puppet anymore am I?" alicorn said under her breath. Ossias's horn flashed up again, but this time the spell she cast was pleasantly warm, revitalizing - enough to make cyborg aware of her surroundings. And it cleared the drugs from LD's system. Necessary seeing she had to be lucid for their conversation. "Hello Miss Mare-In-the-Machine, we haven't had a chance to talk yet. I know you are a little...confused...but I need you to really focus right now hmm? Enough that you can make your pick...." di Nerezza said before flashing a slight less sadistic smile. "Choice number one is: You refuse to cooperate and decide to stick with whoever made you into....this. I will smash you head like a pinata and give whatever mix of mincemeat and scrap remains to this gravekeeper here..." Ossia waved at Hexxer "...And leave her and whatever weirdos she hangs with to get answers from this salad that remains of you to solve this mess." she added with a shrug.... "Choice number two...." di Nerezza smile widened. "...You can start working for Me, seeing that I am actually higher on the pecking order, unlike those snobs in business suits that put the strings on you. You will show me where the gateway is, and in return I will give you 'inside your head' and individuality back. Perhaps add few upgrades here and there. I picked a few things in various places...." alicorn raised one of the limp mechanical limbs. "Places you can't imagine." "So, do we have a deal Miss......? And I mean your real name here, not whatever serial number was stamped on your metal flank when it was forged. You have one of those, right?"

Hogo-sha couldn't help but think about what the Jarl had said, there was a grain of truth to it. The only way this wolf thought that it may not fully apply to him was because 'Breeding' was not something he thought positively of. Hogo-sha's desires lead to him surpassing his breeding and being better than his father. To be a figure of renown whose story would be shared for years upon years. Perhaps going around as he was could be more interesting to try in the future. Soon, the topic went on to the Bull's pitch. It was a tempting offer on some levels, but repulsive on others. A chance to fight in great battles against strong warriors? That was entirely up this dog's alley. Raiding vessels and stealing from others, that was not something Hogo-sha could live with however. Rather than speaking immediately, Hogo-sha turned to his new acquaintance. She seemed very excited by the offer. Unreasonably so in fact... there was a story there, one he hoped to one day learn about. The fact the Jarl's Lupine guest was so quiet, likely betrayed his hesitance. "Jarl. I will admit, the chance to exercise the power one has trained and gained is a tempting one. The opportunity to fight against the best opponents of this world is very enticing on its own." He cleared his throat, "But... I would rather take what power I possess can grant me on my own terms and without raids on those who have nothing to do with this country's internal issues. Most importantly however: There is a great issue that I could not get past if I aided you in your endeavor." The wolf smiled at the caribou across the table, "That issue being: I wish to defeat you in combat one day." He momentarily glanced to the silent caribou then back to the Jarl, "You see. One of your ancestors who warred wth Neighpon along with other caribou clans once was defeated by my father. If I am to step out of his shadow, defeating you will always be a high list on my agenda. Serving you with such a desire would probably not suit your needs."

Applejack was pleasantly surprised to see the mare who came to her stand next was none other than Tempest Shadow herself! She was a strong mare. Combative and blunt, having led a rough life that didn't seem to play easy with her so she didn't play easy with it. New scars told Applejack that she wasn't keeping her nose entirely out of trouble but she had been keeping her name out of the papers. Small steps for big mares may not seem all that special but Applejack knew you had to take what you could get with some of the more fighty ones. And Tempest sure did qualify under that bracket. Luckily she did eventually crack her cold demeanor with a warmer smile and a question that tugged at Applejack's overplucked heartstrings. “It's been real good down here. Same stuff day in, day out! Zap Apple's been good. Why, he has started countin' his numbers real good-like. He's gonna be tha smartest stallion in tha whole wide world Ah reckon,” she said with a mighty chuckle, though her look of pride needed no augmentation. She really did think the world of her little stallion and knew that this opinion would be shared by literally every last pony who ever met them, Celestia help those that thought otherwise if she knew about them. “Ah hope you've been doin' well, Tempest,” Applejack said as she washed her stand top once again, partially out of nervousness. “Got worried 'bout ya. Happy ta see ya here again!” She said with a mighty big smile as a capper. She then spread her forelegs out over the stand. “So, what we got here is a nice deal. Five bits an you get yerself a bushel of fine Sweet Apple Acres apples. Not only that, but you get a big kiss from lil' ol' me,” she said with a wink. “So, what'll it be? What sorta apple's got yer name on it today?” *Tempest Shadow* Kissed 1-10 11-20 21-30 31-40 41-50 51-60 61-70 71-80 81-90

Earth Writer was a little taken aback by Sugar Apple's blatant dismissal of what had been his longtime watering hole, even during his student days. "I never thought it gentrified that much." He said, leaning slightly back as her words forced him to look back and try to re-contextualize his experiences. "I was welcomed even when I was broke student. Didn't even have to pay for my drinks half the time. Everypony always tried to encourage me, said I might make it on the wall of greats who hung out there-" He struck the table with his hoof as realization struck him. "Darnit, that must have been it! They were aiming to use me as much as Heart Stopper was! And once my career as a journalist went down in flames..." He slumped in his chair, one more set of false friendships made clear to him. "Sorry, I didn't mean to... go on like that." He drew himself back up to listen, attentive as he was to any interviewee. Honestly, from what Sugar was beginning to tell him, here was a little slice of life that not many ponies knew about, but would likely be interested in. Very much worthy of a story in the Chronicle. It was a pity that only he would hear it, but that made it no less worth listening to. Perhaps more so, in fact. "Huh, yeah, I remember hearing about that from some of my relatives in the southern Strand, but I know it had to be worse up here." He pursed his lips a bit at her wording. "Hurricanter? Is that the term for your team... or is there a tropical equivalent of a Windigo that you have to battle every summer?"

The rooster crows at the first light. As the sun peeks over the horizon, settled fog is exposed in the valleys of the apple orchard giving it the nonverbal command to quickly disperse. Conditions were perfect. It was a relatively beautiful day with a chilly breeze to remind all living creatures of the coming holiday seasons, the first of which was to be a Ponyville tradition known by ponies far and wide. It was cider season at Sweet Apple Acres! Along the road back to Ponyville from the farm were rows and rows of tents where ponies camped last night in an attempt to try and beat the crowds. The famous cider had created an insane demand for its taste, but the Apple family way of doing things would only yield so much cider for so many ponies to drink. Applejack would always assure everypony that there would be enough cider for all as long as ponies were willing to not take shortcuts and wait for the process of making the best cider in Equestria. And even though she would always be faced with criticism of short supply, she would be right all along and in time everyone would eventually go home happy and Applejack would be able to take a few barrels of cider for her family and herself for the next few weeks. The season wouldn't officially start for another hour or so, but even so several ponies were getting restless in their cooperative lines waiting behind the great cider counter set up at where the farm paths meet the road. The counter was adorned with all the spigots and tools needed to uncork new barrels and squeeze the apple nectar into wooden tankards, which were clean ready for their first pour. Applejack allowed ponies to bring their own vessels for the cider, but if not, she had a rotation of clean mugs ready for every customer that needed them. The sign above told everything everycreature probably already knew. 'Two bits for a cup, limit one per pony per day.' "Apple Bloom, could you bring over that spare pump, I think this one might quit on us at some point." Applejack yelled lovingly to her little sister as the orange mare looked over her counter for problems to minimize. To Applejack this was like any other day, it just had the higher volume of customers and slightly more tourism. Ever since the debacle from Flim and Flam trying to put the farm out of business, a healthy coating of sympathy and appreciation covered the cider season operation, with some ponies offering their help on the back end to make more cider and clean equipment involved in the process. Of course, Applejack was more than willing to pay a fair wage to the ones who earned it. She stepped out onto the road and looked down it, seeing the long line of ponies getting excited for their cider breakfast. The low sun reflected off the luster of the Ponyville road. "Howdy! How ya'll doing this morning? You guys ready for cider season to start?" Cider season wouldn't start for several minutes, but it was still nice to have a little moment to make small talk with the colorful ponies of Ponyville to help them manage their expectations and to gauge how impatient the crowd might become this year.

Sugar Apple had been to the Veiled Garden on several occasions back in the day; it had been Earthy’s favorite hangout, after all. He even convinced Sugar once or twice to let her travelogue photos be put on display during the pub’s amateur nights. That was all fine and dandy, but the blue-collar mare with the country accent and weather factory job had always felt uncomfortably out of place whenever she went to that establishment, although she lacked the heart then to tell Earthy that. Like the classic stereotypical depiction of Canterlot, Sugar found the so-called “Bohemian Club” to be filled mostly with snobs who looked down on everypony they deemed too pedestrian... although without vast sums of riches to back up their elitism, such clientele weren’t much more in the grand scheme of things other than impotent hipsters. “...Wif it makes ya’ feel any better hon,” the pegasus offered in sympathy, and the need to get the morbid vision of Earthy in a ditch out of her system; “Ah never did like thet snotty club, anyway.” And now it was Sugar Apple’s turn to play the role of sorrowful storyteller. “Ya’ can say thet again,” she wearily commented as she chugged down a large amount of hot coffee, somehow not scalding her throat in the process; “When ah first took this jerb down hyar, ah thought it’d be all be sunshine an’ loungin’ around on th’ beach at th’ end of ev’ry workday! Boy howdy was ah wrong; well, it was paradise for th’ first several months... before mah first Hurricanter Center rolled ‘round..... Funny thing about late summer near th’ Equator; thar’s no need t’ keep VaporDep online this time of year ‘cause Mother Nature will stir up a storm for ya. Dozens of them in fact, including hurricanes! When Hurricanter Season comes, it’s all hooves on deck ‘cause when hurricanes come, the hurricanters tend t’ follow.....”

Bravo let out a proof smoke as he watched a passing car, long fancy and screaming power and riches. All of this place did that. It was so different, so alien and unbelievable. Yet there it was. And maybe that was what was most hard… or was it letting go? He did not know, it seemed to change every day. But he was a hunter of the Enclave, he lived years in the wasteland. He can make it. Turning to look at the door as it opens he saw Blue. His eyes looking up and down a few times as he looks over the details and after a moment's time speaks up. “%@#$.” He mutters the swear on smokey air. “You really are him. Just like the postcard… Nice to meet you sir.” With that he stands tall, wings close and tall up tall as he clicks his four hovers together, bows a head than looks up well shooting one giant wing up skyward. One can not underset how large his wings were to a normal pegasus. “SSgt Castle Bravo, Hunter 6th squad of the 5th fleet, Raptor, Frozen Skys.” He spoke fast as he held that pose and did not move for a few more moments before dropping it, standing like a normal pony. Well, normal as one can in his getup and with a scorpion tail behind him. “Java has done his best. It seems we all know him. He did not tell me this… Not shocking. I know him well… and know his great, great grandson from my timeline. It helps us break the ice more easily. Luna bless him, insane as he is he’s done all he can to make this %#@$ %@#$@ #@$@#$ of a deal more easy.” He says with all the charm of a wastelander. He takes in one more deep pull on a cigarette. “No smoking inside?” He asked with a frown, none vocally showing how much he did not care for how many hated smoking.

Lol Honestly, I don't even know. o3o Windward Breeze is a sailor pony who spends most of his time as a fisherpony, but is also known for being a spectacular freelance sailor. I just saw she was related with the sea, and thought "cool. I have one of those, too." Lol

Oh, Canterlot.com has their own map of Equestria (and others) that they use to establish the canon for this site. On this map, the southeast is the Seasaddle Bay area. Anywho, if you upload a copy of your map, I wouldn't mind going by it, instead, for the purposes of an rp with Salty. [edit] There is a bay between Itaily and Prance that isn't labeled. That could be Horseshoe.

She looks older then in her prior pictures. Which makes sense I guess? She's much more experienced mare after all. To be honest, it will take me a long time to think about her with that mane color, but at the same time, I approve how much more like her mother she now looks. Overall, high quality, as always.

Once the comic was in it’s place, an assortment of magical lights appeared and disappeared. In moments, the three were no longer in the room, but they were staring at the first page of the comic with the “Blood Death Manor 2” logo and the image of a creepy old house. Both the dragon and cat’s eyes light up as they saw the home. “Oooh!”, Knife was the first to react. “I know this place! Oooh!”, the dragon bounced up and down. “This is the creepy Haunted Stables ride at Whinny World!”, this caused the cat to react in surprise. “My big brother Dagon and I rode it a bunch of times.....”, she was very happy to see the old house, “Mom and Dad took us to Coltifornia for one of their conventions, and let us go to the nearby theme park...And while they had Sploosh Mountain which was fun, we kept coming back to the creepy old house.", There was a small set of instructions by the flat image of the house. "This is really cool. This couple move into this big mansion and one finds out.....", she was quickly cut off by the cat. "Hey!", she growled. "Don't ruin it..", she pointed at the rules. "Not sure if Daze has been on the ride yet....So don't spoil it.", she pointed to the board. "This is one of the comics that gives us extra points for playing our parts as this isn't just us going to a haunted house, we are playing characters from the original, family-un-friendly version of the ride that Claude Goats wanted...Spooky, but they watered it down a bit to make it suitable for every creature", she sighed. "Claude later published his original story in both book and comic book form." The three were now wearing different clothing than before. Daze was now wearing an horizontally striped yellow and blue t-shirt and blue short-pants, with white socks and red horse-shoes along with an red cap with a blue bill. "You're now Golly Hooves. An happy-go-lucky teen with a dream of playing it big at Hoof-Ball. You're super brave and more than ready to take on a bully and give him 'what-for'." The dragon started to chuckle. "Heh. Golly Hooves." The cat continued, "Knife, you're his little brother, Bratty Hooves.", this caused the dragon to let out a groan. She was wearing similar clothes to her 'big brother', except her shirt was white and red. She also wore her cap backwards! "You're an rambunctious kid who is kind of er....", she was trying to find the right word. "Er. Dumb. You're more than happy to blunder into trouble, which only your big brother can pull you out of." "I am.", she glanced down at her clothing. She wore an plaid pleated skirt, with a pair of white bobby socks, a pair of Penny Loafers and an nice dress shirt. "Just says I'm the girl...Ugh. Golly Hooves' number one girl.", she cringed as the name was read. "Boopsy Belle. Oh sweet mercy.", after giving the dragon a horrible glare, DARING her to laugh, the cat continued to read the instructions. "We get more points if we act like this characters. And this story was written years ago..Back then when ponies would attend sock-hops and said "Gee-Whiz" a lot. So Golly. You're a hero.", she turned to the Pegasus pony. "You're always saving our useless behinds from all kinds of danger and you're full of Pep and Vinegar. Whatever that means. While, I'm the 'Girl'. I'm actually a good deal more useless than Bratty...Everything scares me, and I have to whine constantly....Bratty.", she looked over at Knife. "You're not afraid of anything and will constantly go running towards spooky sounds, creaky doors and squeaky floors. If you see a ghost or other monster, you have to charge towards it while shouting, "Let me at 'em" "To win this comic, we have to survive the house till sunrise. We loose a ton of points if Bratty or Boopsy dies...But if all three of us die, we lose. Got it?" Once Daze was ready, they entered through the first page and into the comic.....

"Yeah yeah, later though, come meet Gallus." Silverstream acknowledged her brother's desire to speak with her on what seemed to be a private matter, which she would dwell on in the back of her mind for the time being. But she didn't want to delay including Gallus in on the conversation due to him being a complete stranger to all things Seaquestria. Once Terramar had issued his official greeting of the fierce seagriffin, Silverstream took this time to grab a couple kelp chips. She would continue to put food in her mouth while her brother and Gallus conversed pleasantries until there was a moment where she felt she had to say something, which was likely only a few seconds at most. "Wait. Is it day? I could have sworn the sun was setting when we arrived." Silverstream looked up at the distance airy surface to detect the amount of light coming in from above. From what she could tell, most of the lighting was coming from the aquatic luminescence of Seaquestria, and from the underwater disco party that was happening right in front of them. "Terr, you must have been partying so long, you lost track of time," she snickered as she jabbed her brother lovingly in the fin. Silverstream had to rearrange herself mentally to remember all the things she wanted to show Gallus while he was down here. "It feels like we just got here, but we did the transformation, that was fun. We talked to mom who was at home at the time. And then we saw the whales, and we did some shell-stringing, and then we d-danced, heh." Silverstream got momentarily nervous when she uttered her last word, but then interrupted her own hesitation to divulge on the feelings with more ideas. "Oh! We should take the flow! I hear they redirected it this year so that it goes faster for seaponies to ride!" The flow she was referring to was an underwater current strong enough to send a swimming creature more than twice as fast as their swim speed and serves as an underwater theme park ride during events like these. When the party is not in session, it's used to get other places near Seaquestria proper in a short time.

Rainbow was happy to sit down and eat. She was happier still to be able to get herself a glass of wine, a jug of wine, the entire wine room if it meant calming down her nerves which played havoc with her. The normally clean and precise wingwork that she was known for was slowly vanishing under her rising stress. When she was younger, just a few years ago even, she crashed all the time. Into open windows, doors, trees, the ground, if a pegasus could crash onto or through something you could count on the daredevil in blue to do so. She had hurt herself many times while becoming the best precision flyer and acrobatic in all of Equestria and she hadn't really crashed a lot since then. But right now? Right now she felt like that energetic, overeager filly she used to be. She was happy that she was sitting down because she was certain that if she flew around she'd make a fool of herself. And she was already sure that they were both making fools of themselves and the foolishness needed to stop somewhere at some point. At least that was the idea. A bowl of shakshouka in front of her, Rainbow allowed herself the sweet relief of some good food. A spoonful later and she realized that...it wasn't half bad. Not the best either but good enough for panic work like they were doing. "This is good. Reminds me of what I ate as a filly," she said as she ate greedily. "My mom would go crazy trying to perfect this and then dad would tease her and say something tasted off. Then she'd bend down all worried and ask what and then he'd kiss her and say now it was perfect," she laughed, "Ahhh, my dad is a dork. How are your wings feeling? Any stiffening yet?" She asked, still keeping the focus on her friend's previous activity. She didn't think that Twi would but pegasi who didn't get proper exercise could experience a lot of wing pain after an extended flight session. She had been busy enough to ignore it but as they sat down to eat and drink, Rainbow wasn't confident that this would remain true.

“I’m pretty sure that ‘Gunter Glieben’ bit was from that one Abyssinia rock band.", the mare tried to move her wing, but only received an rather nasty bolt of pain..."Deaf Leopard...Ow..... gonna start a fire...come on...rise up gather round...rock this place to the ground.", she sang-groaned. Seeing that the pain wasn't going to go away anytime soon, Pocket Change broke out his first aid kit and grabbed a few bandages along with a small red bottle with Princess Celestia's sun on it. "I'm an student over at the University Of Fillydelphia..", she started to point to her sweater, but it was in such bad shape, she realized the logo was now unreadable. "I'm a business major...All on a TEMPEST scholarship. As long as I keep my.....", she paused as the helpful unicorn went about patching up her wing..."Chee....Grades up...I'll end up with a job at one of Fillydelphia's largest companies...", she squirmed, "My dumb ex was just a dumb jock who also attended the same school.....He's a good drinking buddy and Culbatizing pro...heh.....ouch!", she turned and glared at the unicorn before turning her attention back to the big dog. "I don't have any issue with that...", Pocket Change finished up bandaging the Pegasus pony's wing. "Also, don't use this...Like for at least a day...And Mister Hogo-sha....Please tell her what we're looking for."

Twilight watched with an even, satiated expression as the process unfolded. Her eyes would glow a certain shade of white as she cast her own aetherical sense so she could more accurately piece together the minutia of the mechanics behind the process. She shouldn't have bothered doing so. It was a mess, though one she properly understood. The granting of wishes and the taking of something in return were what was dubbed in Equestrian circles as Acute Auric Transferance. The magical energy given as part of the wish granting was, in all actuality, no greater than the energy it took from the subject. It was reshaped and reforged and given new life, but the mechanically exchange was nothing too untoward. It was still fascinating to discover that even with such strange artifacts and foreign methods that the basic laws of exchange still worked out. She was so wrapped up in minutia that she almost missed the bigger picture. Aetherically it as a flash, but the flash was for show. It was like watching two souls formed out of one, and then an auric rearrangement to give one prominence under conditions. And in this case it was a female Okami, a rather more excitable and feral version of the proper masculine warrior who had entered earlier, who made her presence well known. It made sense, did it not? Beings of great magical power could easily power incredible feats of transferative prowess. The evidence was right in front of her. She took a deep breath and approached. "Kanshi-in, a pleasure. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle- or do you already know? Are you him, or are you new?" Twilight asked as she took the paw, looking her over. She could only wonder why she was so feral-minded though, so canine. Was there a difference between the female and male Okami? Did the aether have an impact? Her mind ran with questions but she couldn't really ask them, at least as easily as she wanted.

The indignation Sugar Apple felt on his behalf couldn't help but buck Earth up just a little, enough to lift his head up and give a little smile, as well as take a little food. The food seemed to help, too; poor stallion had probably been getting a little low on his blood sugar. But with nourishment came equanimity, and despite the soiling of his reputation, Earth Writer was still enough of a journalist to be able to see both sides of a story. "To be perfectly fair, at least to the editors, it's hard to argue that I deserve a second chance when so many hungry writers with potential haven't even gotten their first yet. Especially when all I've got to show for my recent work are stub articles in trashy tabloids. The things I do to eat..." He let out a breath that tried and failed to be a laugh. Even if he was being a fair critic of himself, he still felt hard done by. "So, I don't blame them so much. But being barred from the Veiled Garden? I don't know if I did anything to upset the proprietor personally or what, but whatever happened there, so many half-truths and lies sprung out of that situation that it's pretty much killed most of my social connections. Which, for someone trying to make a living as a writer already precariously, is pretty much career-killing." He sighed again, returning to his food briefly before looking up again. This time, able to meet the mare's eyes. "It's let me know who my real friends are at least. Didn't have as many of them as I first thought, but I still have some. It's why I'm not dead in a ditch right now, frankly." Even though, if he was honest with himself, he sometimes wished he was- No, shake that thought. Sugar didn't deserve to deal with that baggage. "So... how have you been doing? I don't want to take whatever time you have just for my troubles; you don't look as if you've had much for yourself lately."

Pinkie giggled as Cheese came in for his landing. "Perfect landing!" She proclaimed, holding up a big judging sign with a 10 printed on it. "OOoooooo!" She squealed with delight at the offer to help with the baking. "I'd absolutely love to have some baking help! Gummy and I can usually handle it on our own buuuut, he might need a little nap after all this excitement." She glanced up at the gator who had fallen fast asleep in her mane. She patted him lightly. "You can just stay right there and nap away buddy!" She felt super proud of her kitchen and double proud to show it to somepony as special to her as Cheese Sandwich. She hadn't really ever told him that she thought he might be her very best friend. Maybe she'd do that at some point when it felt right. But right now it felt like... "Time to bake some cupcakes!" She turned into a pink blur as she gathered the regulars for cupcake mixes. "Flour, butter, sugar, eggs, baking soda, milk!" Zoom, zoom zoom! All of those things clattered to a rest on the large counter in front of them. "So!" She eyed him mischievously. "Any ideas for what flavors these bad boys should be?" Pinkie was always full of excitement, her heart always beat like a hummingbird's but, something felt well, different when she was with Cheese. Like her heart could hardly handle anymore when he was around her. This was so much fun!! What a perfect day and she hadn't planned it at all which made it that much more special!

Rainbow flew close to her little guy, proud as she could be! He was already a strong flier for his age. Yep! He was probably better than she'd been at his age! He would definitely make a great flier someday. Her heart soared with the possibilities. He could be more than she ever was and that was all she could hope for. Of course she also wanted him to follow his dreams. She'd share her' dreams with him slowly over time and in the end, he was free to choose what was best for himself one day. Of course she did hope in flight tournament trophies and Wonderbolt colors but she'd let him have his own choice when it was time. Up, up, up they went. A little at a time until they past the roof lines. Wow! He didn't start to slow down until they had almost gone above all the trees! When she could see he was beginning to flag she flew under him and bolstered upwards. This would make him feel like he was climbing higher on his own but also he'd know she was right under him in case anything happened. This way they'd be able to progress safely and at a good rate. The pair continued on, into the brightness of day and towards a very special place Rainbow had in mind. It wasn't long until the outlines of that place came into view...the Wonderbolt training academy! "Almost there Zap! You still feeling good? You're flying is great!"

"Oh thank Harmony!" Squall expressed his relief. It seems that spell put hm back to...early teenage body? Very early teenage body. Swift always was well developed kid, but this reminded him how tall he got, seeing that armor was quite too big now. "Right, sorry. You want some potions? I certainly have some painkillers among the elixirs...." noblepony said while clanking with his armor, trying to reach satchel with aforementioned concoctions.... Which, unintentionally but his helmet visor in the correct position. Ad getting a good look at his companion. "Oh.My.Gosh...." Swift whispered....before wobbling to Sparkle, grabbing her in his front hooves and lifting - probably very surprised - purple princess into the air. "You adorable! Princess Twilight Sparkle - Fun Size Edition!" he said while admiring her youthful form. "This makes me want to have daughters even more. Fire thinks I would break at seams without having a son, and I am not opposed to an idea. But since getting together, I always wanted us to make pair of cute little fillies so I can spoil them rotten." swordpony admitted. Then he blinked. And again.Ooooooh...... "Errrr sorry." he apologized while slooowly putting Twilight back on the ground. "I don't know what's gotten into me! I was just unaware of how you now look and...." Squall started to explain himself, usually tough stallion becoming very flustered. Quick, change the subject! "Still....this feels...way different then when Gramps did the same." noblepony said while lifting one of his legs and waving with it. "Back then it felt like my adult self was...stored on the shelf of sorts, memories and all. But now everything's in order. At least mentally." he mused. "So, how long we are stuck like this? Long enough make some commemorative photos when we back on the surface?" Swift asked. Twilight of course was quick to form some theory, but right now he wasn't really hot on doing the same. "Have you considered him simply being...you know...a jerk?" Swift said in a deadpan tone, but this didn't stopped the Twilight. The conclusions she came up to were sound, although Squall couldn't say they sounded encouraging.... "Yes you can.....if it wasn't highly amoral that is. I get what you saying - 'He got his adult students and altered their auric signatures after temporarily turning them into kids!'. But Sparkle....adults usually don't - you know - attend schools. Or at least shouldn't. And if they do, they don't admit that aloud...." Squall said before shaking his head. "This is getting us nowhere. Investigating the golem room should give us some more insight about nature of teaching - and experiments - that were conducted here. Lead the way."

Gallus felt himself deescalate along with his Professor. Yeah, truth be told he had started to feel a little heated. Not at her, not even at the implication he took from her, but from himself. Something needled him from within where his defenses were weakest and no front could be provided and it told him that she was right. It was only a small voice because his swagger was not all for show but it was there. It was there and he didn't need much doubt for it to grow into a problem. Luckily, Professor Applejack didn't feed him any of that claptrap that passed for fuel to the kitten inside. Allowing him to just focus on Zap Apple or Zap Crackle or Dap Fapple or whatever his name is would help ensure tat he didn't have any bad news to return to the doting mom. Was she doting? She seemed the type. More so than Professor Dash. Was there any truth to the legend that pegasi would leave weak foals on the ground and to the elements? He wouldn't ask and would just assume the answer was yes. Class wrapped up swiftly afterwards. Most Professors had a signoff they'd use from time to time but Applejack was the most trident about it. Nocreature could accuse her of saying it for the sake of saying it though. Everything she did only ever reinforced her image of the most trustworthy and honest Professor a griffon could ask for. "Be true to your friends and know when to help. But most importantly, be honest with yourself," Gallus recited along with a few others even without meaning to, the habit and tradition of it rubbing off on him in some small ways even if he didn't always live up to the words themselves. His attention was soon stolen by Silverstream- as it often was- as she suggested they meet up in the library with the others. He was about to answer when Professor Applejack came back around and got to the pair. She gave Silverstream the information she needed to successfully complete the most time critical pie delivery this side of the market and then she leaned in and promptly gave Gallus the...motivation...he would need to accomplish his task. His first inclination was to snark back. After all, threats in Griffonstone were a dime a dozen. Then he remembered that ponies rarely threatened, and she was very much an honest sort. All Gallus could do was nod in response as Silverstream tugged at his mind, driving him from the pit of fear that had just now been dug. “Yeah. Yeah, lets go. I...need to do some reading,” Gallus said as he took flight with her, waving nervously back at his teacher as he started to create a list of foal-rearing books he needed to study on tonight.

Sombra followed the other stallion on silent hooves, watching the guard pony closely on their way towards another intersection in the hallways. None of the few rooms they'd passed seemed very interesting, and only seemed to be empty or filled with decrepit furniture from what glances inside showed him. Even some of the wooden doors were deteriorating with age. It looked like it'd been quite a nice castle in its day, and it was a shame it was all coming apart like this. His attention quickly returned to Heart Shield, drawn back by the stallion's voice responding to what he'd suggested. "Maybe," Sombra replied, sounding less than interested. There was only so long he could contemplate about the whats and wheres before he started to get bored. Besides, he had a feeling the library was somewhere around here, somewhere close.. The stallion paused, watching as Heart Shield was startled by something off in the shadowy corners of one hallway, sending the guardpony skittering back and right into his side. Sombra hardly budged, but he did have to move a hoof to steady himself against Heart Shield's weight running into him. An eyebrow arched and Sombra leaned his head forward, peering off at what must've scared the poor pony. From what he could see.. nothing, just what looked like a suit of armor or.. a statue, perhaps? A snort escaped him and Sombra reached over to pat Heart Shield's shoulder with a low chuckle. "Jumping at shadows now, are we? It appears I won't have to do much just to scare you," Sombra teased, stepping by him and picking the hallway to his right. Summoning a werelight with his magic, a low oddly colored flame, he shed some light on the hall ahead, and he was sure he could see something. Exactly what he'd suggested, perhaps- tall, important looking doors, and one of them cracked open from the last ponies who must've breezed through here. The umbrum trotted towards it, intrigued. It had to be the library, at last! He'd guessed from the ruin's shape, that it had to be somewhere on the castle's right side.

Silverstream walked up once the grey pegasus had excused himself. She smiled as she returned Applejack's greeting. "Hey, Professor Applejack! Um, I need to fill this wagon up with some apples. I volunteered for snack duty for study group with my friends." Silverstream unhooked the hitch of the wagon off the collar she was wearing. Other than her shard of the pearl, it was strange for her to wear anything at all. But unless she wanted to airmail three times her weight in apples to the dormitory, she had to settle for a wagon that Sandbar lent her. Sandbar pulled the wagon with a typical pony girth, but the girth was too large for Silverstream. And instead of getting her own sized girth, she decided to get a well-fashioned collar to hitch the wagon to. It was a stylish thin black collar, a long toss comparison from the heavy duty plowing collar's many of the farming stallions wore around Equestria's countryside. She decided against the standard metal girth because she did not like the feeling of her wings being clamped by the cold steel ring around her waist. Also, Professor Rarity said she looked fabulous in the one she ended up wearing.

Zap was born in a barn to earth ponies. He spent a great deal of time inhaling the rustic air that blew through and around the apple orchard. And mother Dash was there, too. But almost like a visitor. Zap understood that his pegasus mom did not live where he lived, but he never knew why. His imagination might have brought him to conclude that Rainbow Dash never sleeps and thus never needs a place to lay her head. But that would be proven incorrect as a few times he saw her napping on a cloud, the same way Granny Smith did in a rocking chair, albeit with a little less grace. So the excitement in Zap Apple rose as he realized he was going to visit the place where she lived. Was this house a place where he could sleep? Where there toys there? "Oh. Kay." Zap muttered as he tried to ready himself for a high flight. He knew how hard this was for him, but he only needed to trust his mother to help him get to the destination. He started to flap his wings quickly, at first with irregularity and then consistently. He hovered slowly up and attempted to increase his speed upwards. He dared not look down, knowing that even if he doesn't fear heights, that he gets distracted by how excitingly far away the earth had become. He was able to flap his wings without strain by the time he could see the tops of all the buildings in Ponyville. Zap Apple started to grimace as he started noticing the tops of trees underneath him. His ascent would continue but at a slower rate.

Not wanting to push the little guy too far on his lessons, Dash figured she would take him to see something that had inspired her as a budding flyer back in the days of her youth. It would involve a trip up to Cloudsdale but that wouldn't be a problem. Zappers had been up there quite a few times before, and had even been baby sat at her house one time. She blanched at the thought of getting her mess of a cloud house ready to accept not only her son but a babysitter too! Thankfully today it would just be her little guy and he didn't mind a mess. "Ok! We're gonna go up to Cloudsdale. Got something for you at my house and then..." She winked. "There's something super awesome to want to show you!" She would allow him to buzz as far up as he wanted and when he started to show signs of getting tired she'd bolster him up the rest of the way. "Let's get going!" She flexed her wings and did a few flaps, letting him move at his own rate. Someday he'd be able to make the trip all by himself but that would be a while still. Rainbow watched him with loving eyes, not wanting to miss a minute of time with her special little guy.

The commotion towards the front of the line was picking up some. Cain couldn't exactly identify the ponies and other creatures in question, as he'd likely never seen them before, but at least a couple looked somewhat familiar. Not his problem to be sticking his snout into things he didn't understand, of course. Instead of listening in on the chatting, he simply sat back, leaning against his cart slightly and breaking off the bottom piece of his candy. This was technically considered eating his own merchandise, but. . . Who was going to tattle on him about it? The stallion was startled out of his thoughts by a young voice. He whipped his head around, eventually identifying the source as a young orange dragon. . . Who Cain also couldn't place. Welp. This was what came with ignoring your surroundings and becoming lost in your own little world for your entire life. Oh well. It was always nice to meet new folk anyway. Cain hastily put the candy away, realizing how nervous nibbling on it made him look. He made sure that he was the one the dragon was talking to before replying, glancing about. "Oh, no, Miss. It's just a habit of mine when I'm thinking." The stallion paused. Maybe now was a good time to ask. "Say, I don't think I've seen you around before. Then again, I don't see many people around. This little hobby of mine tend to be very time-consuming, you see. A pleasure to meet you. The name's Candy Cain. Who might you be?" Another thought occurred to him as he spoke, and he nearly cut himself off before the question faded from his mind. "Also - I was curious. I've only just arrived in Ponyville this morning, you see. I was on my way here anyway, and well. . . The long line caught my attention. Is that out of the ordinary at all?" Cain wouldn't have been surprised if it wasn't. The apples here were the greatest, after all. "And, what sort of delicacy is an. . ." he added after a pause. he'd originally considered asking what the Apple Kisses were, but it seemed better to be surprised than to just ask. Cain had no allergies, so he wasn't exactly at risk there. ". . . Never mind. I think I'll see for myself. I needed to get some bushels anyway. I'll try one once I complete that task."

"Oh my..." Fluttershy watched as the rescue went on to get their leader out of the quicksand. Sombra was actually trying to help her and the kind pegasus didn't forget to note it. She had always been a believer of the baddest of beasts having a glimmer of goodness. Maybe she had been wrong about Sombra being a monster. Maybe he was just like the baddest beasts. Even the scariest of ponies could have a tiny spark of good. That was all she was willing to offer him though. She'd heard to much about his past to give him any more credit than what she was seeing in the moment. "Just a little while longer friend." She spoke as she hovered above the deer. The little squirrel was doing her part still sitting in the deer's antlers and patting him on the head. "Once you're out of here I think you'll have a new friend!" The squirrel blinked up at Fluttershy and chittered. "I'm sure it won't be long now, don't worry..." She glanced over to the side of the sand morass and watched as Ali was offered the rope from above. "Where is Applebloom?" Fluttershy got more and more nervous as she realized the little filly wasn't with the others. "Oh my..." She tried her best to keep her worries to herself as she waited for the Captain and maybe even Sombra to help get the deer out of the sand.
