No wonder this season only had 13 episodes. The entire budget went into song production.

She's back. Everything's gonna be okay.

The main thing I learned from the episode is that Pinkie Pie has glasses of water stashed all over Ponyville.

Also, I remembered something. Who caught the Lou Gehrig reference during Twilight's speech?

It did feel slightly rushed but I love this episode. Much liquid pride was shed. Celestia singing and Derpy showing up just topped it all off. Now just have to wait for Season 4.

Also: Before I forget for the 5th time... I think there a painfully brilliant, if insanely subtle joke that I simply love. Rarity's Weather PATTERNS. Not sure if it was intended to be a joke or not....but.....daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang.

Care to explain? Horse's nose and albino zebra, both with sunburn. It can totally happen. This hasn't quite been made canon, since it has not technically been put into an episode, but Faust Herself explains:

I like that. Kinda like the first episode of MLP. They uses there skills to sovle the problems they face when saving the filly from the robber.

What if.. The first two episode of season four is about Twilight being corrupted by some nefarious force and fighting that corruption. Why? Because a piece of Sombra was left behind in her when she used his magical techniques to open the hidden passage way. It would be epic and you know it!

Or how about that the OCs learn a little about each other's skills and duties (based on their cutie mark if they have one) ?

There's a lot of stuff there. You can check the Feed the beast wiki if you want to take a look. Twilight forest is a good one to jump into first, its easy to gain access to.

I think there are different types of Princesses in Equestria, both of status and office. Cadence and Twi are younger compared to the "celestial" Princesses. We're still not exactly sure how Princesshood works (outside of Twilight's coronation) or how the life cycle of one works. We'll see more exploration of this, maybe, as we head into S4.

Lets get too complaints out of the way first: 1) I knew she was going to get wings. I try so hard to avoid spoilers, and I got the news from not less than 6 different sources unsolicited and inappropriately. I'm a little bitter about this. 2) The dresses at the end were substandard. Otherwise: WOW! You guys have already had many great observations, so I will try to add a unique perspective... Pinkie's take-a-drink-so-she-could-do-a-spit-take killed me! The animals cooking rainbow dash into stew was sooooooooooooooo cute! My worldview has room for ponies that are all three types of ponies or only two types. I haven't decided what Twilight is yet. magic MUST rhyme to work right? Interesting tid-bit I am glad Twilight's proportions didn't change. I was afraid that she was going to get taller. Tons of great effects, from the eyes rolling memories, to Celestia's special Celestial hall of memories... Celestia had a few lines that MADE the episode for me. Upon becoming an Alicorn, Twilight's first thought was to ask Celestia if she was going to lose her mentor. The response was twofold: 1) she wasn't losing her relationship with Celestia but 2) it was changing in a new and special way. If that was the only thing that happened in the entire episode, I would have loved it.

Just finished watching this episode again. It's even better the second time. Also "A True, True Friend" is my favorite song of this season. So good! I wonder if the bandage around Celestia's middle at the Royal Coronation was part of her attire or an actual injury? It was hard for me to figure out because it didn't seem to match the rest of her attire.

That's what I said! That aside, I was deeply moved by the finale. And I couldn't help but wonder... now that Twilight has essentially become a god, what direction is FiM going to take now?

That was magical. I couldn't stop smiling. I had some reservations early on, but... nope, this sold me in the best way. I seriously love the songs. A musical episode was an amazing idea and M.A, Larson delivered with a fun set of songs. The highlights were probably the two songs that had all the mane six singing, but you do not know how much I cheered when Celestia started singing. This needs to happen more often. Seriously. Yeah, this really just delivered for me. It wasn't just cuteness, the humor was good too. Seeing the ponies try on each others talents was really nice, especially given they were mixed up well. It was all executed wonderfully. This was my favorite episode of the season easily. No joke. All hail Princess Sparkle, may she bring us lots of cheerful smiles in season four!

For a second or two, the purple-coated mare debated whether to carry on with her plan, or whether the stallion would really appreciate. But as her mind flashbacked to that Running victory celebration where Earth had given her that “parting gift”, Sugar surmised that her companion could use a taste of his own medicine. With Earth Writer leaning close to her now, Sugar Apple swiftly closed the gap between her and the stallion to plant a kiss on his cheek. Sugar didn’t anticipate that her heart would beat so ridiculously fast over such a simple task, but then again, it was normal for somepony’s heart to race while performing a sneaky deed like this one. The mare’s peck only lasted for a brief second, but it was enough to satisfy her thirst for “revenge”. Lying back on her hospital bed, a blushing Sugar Apple winked and simply said with a giant grin; [colour=#800080]“Got ya’ hun.....”[/colour]

I think this fandom will have longevity. There's too much creativity in it for it to just fizzle out completely. And of course, as I was saying in the other thread, we've helped to rejuvenate this core property of Hasbro in ways that they couldn't have anticipated. The end of FIM is not the same as the end of MLP, and Hasbro I think would see it in its best interests to repeat that success and not move backwards. Pony fandom might live on into whatever G5 is.
