Mark your calendars, pony fans! “The Friendship Express” is slated for release this Tuesday, February 28, 2012. You can still pre-order the DVD on Amazon for $9.99. The set includes the following episodes: Friendship is Magic, Part 1 (Mare in the Moon) Friendship is Magic, Part 2 (Elements of Harmony) Over a Barrel Hearth’s Warming Eve The Last Roundup According to the Friendship is Magic Wiki, the DVD will also include MLP sing-a-longs, “Meet the Ponies”, coloring pages, and the first episode of Pound Puppies (“The Yipper Caper”). Equestria Daily has released a review on “The Friendship Express”. Delicious Season 2 screens from a press release found here. The top three are definitely Season 2, while the other three are kind of vague, and could be season 1. (Update - Gasping picture below in HD). Also randomly found in the press release, general character bios. See after the pictures after the page break for a copy. The above picture is something you really want to look at. The other pictures (for the moment) are LD, where as someone found an HD version of the above. Someone was pointing this out on /co/, but take a look at the stain glass windows. Now maybe I'm crazy, but this is probably a very good insight on the first episodes. The first thing you're going to see are dragons. One brown one (on either side). The next window is the same design of the brown one, except white, with what can only be assumed as Celestia and Luna circling. Go further, the window on the right side, extreme front, shows the mane 6 below some sort of symbol. On the left side, three windows back, you see something that very much resembles puppet ponies, three of them. Now this might be stretching it, but isn't the colors very close to Cutie Mark Crusaders? You be the judge. Indie game developer Mane6 hosted a 1 hour preview of Fighting is Magic, an MLP:FiM fighting game.  Sadly at this time we don't have any text details of the game, I am currently checking to see if any of the staff was watching and could report (long story short, my internet has crapped out on me, can't youtube or stream...). So the only thing I can report on is what I heard from my usual haunts.  General review was positive, and it seem the game flowed like a classic fighter should.  Heard a few things on little details, such as feathers coming out of the chicken coop when someone got ground slammed near it. The livestream itself netted over 3,000k viewship.  I also heard some grumblings from some fans about the fact someone is developing a fighting game (since its somewhat anti-moral to the show).  But from what I've seen from the PreAlpha a month or two ago, its sticking to your classical fighting game, there is no blood or gore (Street Fighter over Mortal Kombat).  I could see if maybe Applejack was literally kicking the head off doppelganger AJ. Equestria TalesAn exciting new game project has popped up, a really neat looking 3D one. This game is currently being worked on by Byrpheros, and still in very early development. He's gone ahead and compiled a Document of Q&As that answer a lot of questions about the project. The characters available for play will be all 6 of the mane cast, though you will be limited to which ones you can be until a certain point has been passed in the story. Minigames are also being planned, possibly some where you can play as other ponies for a short while. The world itself, according to the creator, will be a limited open world. The world will be almost completely open for exploration, except for areas directly relating to the story, areas you're not supposed to go to until later on. ~ The current 'expected' release date of the Full completed game is sometime around June or July 2012. Though don't worry too much, the creator is expecting to finish sooner than that, it's just hard to put a final date on a project so early on. In the end, it's way too early to say too much about the project, but hopefully there will be a lot of updates along the way. It's a great looking project that we're already excited for. Its kind of like fishing, you wait around long enough, something interesting is bound to pop up. Earlier today Lauren Faust released 14 sketches from the 2008 series that would become part of the "FiM Bible" on her DeviantArt account. It includes a few "what could have been" things which are interesting. The above is something someone noticed, Mortimer the Mouse, aka the original concept of Fluttershy's companion character. The rest of the dA pictures if you haven't seen them (HA.....) is behind the page break. Also included are quotes from Lauren Faust (the ones with the da green backgrounds). Enjoy! To address worry that things would be too scary, I skewed the dragons kind of pretty at first. Might have been an interesting direction.... When I submitted the premise for the pilot, there was concern that facing a Manticore would be too scary for kids, so I designed him kind of dopey to help ease worry. Imagine my surprise when I got the note that he didn't look threatening enough!! It's not often that you're happy to get a note, but I was. I like the final one better. These were just random Fillydelphia residents. I wanted Ponyville to be Fillydelphia originally. Obviously that didn't pan out, but I was glad we got to use the name somewhere else. Her original name was indeed Appleseed. Ran into some copyright issues, and now she is Apple Bloom. In the original bible, she was solo in her quest for a Cutie Mark, and "seed" signified that she still needed to grow. CMC's Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were developed later. MLP Online WebsiteMLP Online is a fan made My Little Pony Friendship is Magic MMO, currently being produced by Urimas, Salty Justice, and their team of programmers, spriters, and other members in a custom made C++ engine. The project has been in development for a while now, and when finished, will be 100% free to play. The MMO is still in its early stages, but a lot of the features are already nearing completion The game currently has eight different movement directions, functional NPCs, flying, bucking (Kicking objects around) and several maps. Currently, the sprites are a major developing point in the project, many different sprite sheets have been made for the mane cast and many other ponies who will be in the game. You can find a demo showing the current progress of the game HERE. The battle system is currently being worked on, you can play a short demo of what it might look like HERE.
