  1. Compass followed suit after Rose, stretching her wings backward to allow the spray nozzles to get all around them without spreading them up or out so as to take up too much space so she wouldn't fit after making it through, she flicked the water of her wings and folded them back down, wringing her mane with her hooves, surprised at how well it removed the mud from between her hairs. As she did these things, she spoke happily in response to the others "Hey! If we go to Canterlot, I could invite my old friend to come join us!" she scratched the back of her head "I mean, if it's okay with you two. He's not a mare, so idk if that's out of the question for a 'mare's night' activity.... also, he's not really an avid theatre goer that I know of. But I just love to see him whenever I visit Canterlot." she smiled She put her hoof down and thought for a second about her response to Rose's question "Well... I've never really been all too interested in plants as a subject to research. I do see a lot of them, and could probably tell you where I'd seen any of them before, and even produce a technical drawing of any of them, but.... then again, I could also walk you down my childhood street and show you the exact cobblestone that I named Gerald once because I was bored." she shrugged, blushing slightly at the actually pretty embarrassing story that she didn't even realize she was just telling near complete strangers about, that she never told anypony else about before, until she'd already said it. "S-so yeah, I can remember your flowers and your vines and things, but It's not really my cup of tea." she tried futily to make the slip seem natural and uninteresting, hoping they wouldn't ask her to tell the whole story.
  2. Myth smiled at the sun glasses. There had been times where she wished she would've known that a simple pair of sunglasses would work to protect her eyes from intense magic. It kinda seemed so obvious, now. The sun is magic, sunglasses block the sun. Duh. She stifled a giggle at her past self as she took the glasses and put them on, striking a "cool" pose before the elevator doors opened. The door seemed to be blocked by a solid wall of magic, which myth could see was some sort of detection and dispelling field, and Icy confirmed it as she walked through it. It wasn't like Myth hadn't walked through visually solid walls of magic before, but it never got any easier. She put a hoof up and covered her face as she stepped through slowly. As soon as she was through the field, she shook herself with an audible shudder. "That never gets any less weird...." she said, he voice trailing away as she started paying attention to the magic in the room. Her resting smile faded a bit as she watched the way the magic in this room behaved. This wasn't the same free-spirited happy to meet you kind of magic she loved. This was a more all-business rigid kind. It seemed regimented and serious. Probably because of the ponies it came from. and its job. The magic seemed to frisk Icy as she spoke, checking her for inconsistencies. Then as the unicorn asked for myth to step forward, the magic in the room turned its focus to her. She'd never felt this nervous to interact with magic before. She looked nervously at Icy before taking a breath and stepping forward to the spot she was meant to take. When she was asked for her rank, her heart stopped for a split second as she thought, panicked. "What? I think Icy said.... E-6 Specialist?" she was about to speak when Icy whispered to her and she jumped a little. Knowing what she was expected to say made her relax, just a little. She took a deep breath and spoke shakily at first "S-Sargeant Specialist... Mythic... Vision..." as she spoke her voice relaxed more and her words softened. As the magic that had seemed so regimented and serious earlier frisked her she could feel it was... comforting. She smiled as she realised this is the same magic. It just has a job. A very important job. And that job was to protect her. She nodded to the magic and smiled "Thank you." she whispered. She learned something new from her friend every day. Then she giggled toward Icy "Now, that was fun." she said laughing at herself.
  3. Myth's smile he as Icy told her about payments. She really would've been happy to the research she was here for just for the sake of gaining a more intimate understanding of her best friend, magic. She had come prepared to make advancements that would benefit Equestria, and hadn't even considered getting paid to do it. She just wanted to help. When Icy said they were going on a tour, she clapped her hooves "Then let it begin!" she said, bouncing her way over to the elevator, her excitement building as she prepared herself to see what she came for. She couldn't wait to see what they had in the research lab. The prosthetic horn project was one thing, and what had drawn her here, but she figured there ought to also be other projects they're working on, and any kind of new ways that magic can be used to help ponies would be the most amazing thing in Equestria. She squealed as her excitement mounted, and the elevator doors closed.
  4. He smiled. That was a pretty common first question. "I'm only half changeling. It used to be more risky for me to reveal that, but ever since Queen Chrysalis was first defeated, I've been able to really let my guard down." he frowned "It wasn't too long ago, tho, that I've had some.... unsavory reactions." after a second, he shook himself away from those thoughts and smiled "It certainly doesn't hurt my acting career, right Director?" he nudged Stage Lights who had gotten engrossed talking with somepony else. He looked over at Flaire "Yes? You are speaking with me?" Flaire just laughed "I have missed a ponish joke, again? I am sorry." Flaire patted him on the shoulder "You're fine, Director. I was just saying my changeling abilities were helpful in acting." Stage smiled "I knew from the moment I saw him in Manehattan, years ago, that he would be a star, one day." he looked at Flaire "And just look at how far you have come. Je suis fier, Dramatic Flaire, I am proud." Flaire blushed and looked away "Anyway, all I can do, really, is change my colors and voice, but it comes in handy all the time." he smiled and looked at the unicorn again. // French translation: Je suis fier = I am proud //
  5. Myth smiled, hers wasn't really a simple invisibility spell. but that was more complicated to explain than had warrant at the moment, and a magic barrier that dispels illusions would work just fine anyway. Although, it would make entering the office odd for her each time, having to step through an opaque wall. The paper that had been glowing dimly this whole time, which she only just noticed started to glow brightly, and she covered her eyes for a half second before her eyes adjusted and Icy spoke. "I, insert name-" she giggled then corrected herself in a more serious tone "I, Mythic Vision, do solemnly swear to pledge my allegiance to Equestria. I pledge to assist her and her allies, and all creatures that reside therin in time of need. In the event that I am called upon to protect my great nation, I will do so to the best of my training and ability. We are the few, the proud, and the elite, we are STAR Force," she smiled and continued as the paper kept glowing while her hoof was on it "And I also pledge myself to Ice Storm and Raven Shadowfire, and to the ponies and creatures in need that my research will benefit. May my efforts be for the benefit of all." she winked and put her hoof down. As the glowing subsided, her added words scrawled themselves like a nearly illegible side note in the margin. "I hope you don't mind. I recognized the spell and couldn't resist." she winked then giggled "I've never tried that before, did it work?" she peered at the paper, its magic faded back to its dull glow, invisible to the light-sighted, just maintaining its enchantment for later verification, but the words on it written in ink that Myth couldn't see. Myth frowned when she heard that she couldn't share her discoveries outside of the organization, but then realized it had the caveat that with Icy's permission she could, and she decided that was okay. She wasn't sure why, but for reasons she didn't understand, she felt like she could trust Icy. More than she had with any other pony. She smiled as she decided it must be magic reassuring her. If her best friend trusted her, then she could definitely trust her. She wasn't sure what an "E-6 Specialist" was, but- "Wait, I'm getting paid?" she allowed the surprise to show on her face "I would've done this for free, but..." she stamped her hoofprint on the paper quickly. "you've already offered me the bits, so it's too late for you to back out, now." she winked at Icy. Then she laughed "Assuming you told me everything right, that is. There's no way to tell I'm not being bamboozled." she smiled and said more seriously "I'm kidding, of course. I trust you." she nodded.
  6. Myth giggled as Icy reacted to her appearance. She walked back around her to stand where she was meant to in front of the desk while she spoke "Sorry, I had to. It was too easy." She smiled at Icy's words "I was born ready." she winked. Then when Icy got out a stack of papers, myth frowned "I... hope you don't intend me to read that.... she pointed "papers are.... kind of useless to me." she chuckled nervously, scratching the back of her head.
  7. // oof I need a smaller one of those lol // Myth was so very excited. She couldn't wait to see the sights of Las Pegasus. With all the lights and shows and stuff there was bound to be plenty of magic to see as well. She bounced up and down in the hot air balloon "can you believe it?" she asked the balloon operator "Las Pegasus! And an honest-to-celestia magic research project!" she bounced again. The balloon operator made a face "Yes, very exciting. but can we please not try to bust a hole in my balloon's basket? Reweaving straw isn't fun. Plus, I don't want to have to fly down to catch you." Myth giggled. "Sorry," she said calming down a bit "I'm just really excited! I've never been to Las Pegasus." she squealed. the pegasus groaned "So you've told me about a hundred times..." she mumbled "Look. Miss Vision, we're almost there. can you-" Myth interrupted with a high-pitched squeal and started dancing around in the balloon. "Here we go again..." ===== After landing in Las Pegasus, Myth wasted no time in exploring the wonders the city had to offer. So much more fun than stuffy old Canterlot. She looked around at the magic that swirled around the city so freely. It was like a party! The ponies all seemed so happy and the magic seemed to be having fun too. She bounced happily "It's exactly how I imagined it!" she screamed, drawing amused looks from the passers by which she either didn't see or ignored, nopony could tell. She ran down the street and looked at all the lights and the- "Oh my gosh! Is that a fire breathing street performance?" she asked nopony in particular. She watched as the magic manipulated the fire, at first the magic was rigid. just going through the motions to get the effect the caster wanted, but then when she arrived, it seemed to stutter for a split second before it started to dance with the flames giving myth her own private magic show and actually improving how the act looked for others a bit as well. Myth smiled and nodded in the performers direction, acknowledging the effort her best friend always made to give her a show. When the performance finished, she clapped her hooves and pulled out some bits with her hooves to give the performer, nodding happily to him "Very good show, both of you." she winked. The performer raised his eyebrow puzzled , looking around to see that he was indeed alone as he'd thought "Um... thanks?" Myth just laughed in response "Have a good da-" she stopped mid sentence as she saw the sun's position in the sky "oh, celestia! I'm late!" she galloped forward for moment before she skidded to a stop "Wait..." she facehoofed "Where am I going?" she cleared her throat "Does anypony know where the Ice and Fire Casino is?" she yelled A random pony walking by laughed "You're standing in front of it miss. Don't you read signs?" Myth laughed back "Not usually." she waved a hoof in front of her face and laughed "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" she laughed more "You're fine!" she dismissed "Thank you!" she walked into the casino. ===== Myth approached the reception desk and looked around. The receptionist seemed busy with something else. Normally, she'd just wait patiently, but she was late. She cleared her throat, but the pony ignored her. She frowned. Her horn glowed as she created an illusory service bell and made it ding. The receptionist fumbled his newspaper and nearly fell out of his chair "W-what? I didn't know we had a bell..." Myth giggled and dispelled her bell "Now that I have your attention, I need to see Icy- I mean Ice Storm. She's expecting me, and I'm late." she smiled wide at him, and he frowned "That seems unlikely...." Myth's smile remained unchanged as she just waited for him "But I guess I could call her office phone." he reluctantly finished. As he dialed, he asked "What's your name?" Myth smiled "Call me 'that crazy pony who thinks she has super powers and wants to help you save the world from imminent doom'..... or... you know Mythic Vision works too." she giggled. The receptionist rolled his eyes. picked up the phone and waited for a second. "Yes, ma'am, there's a pony here asking for yo- yes ma'am. Yes ma'am. I'm sorry, ma'am. I'll send her right up." he looked at myth who just had the biggest "I told you so" grin on her face and he just sighed. "Over there. Elevator 1. Press the 'O' button, it should take you right to her." Myth giggled "Thank you, sir!" then she paused on her way to the elevator and turned back around "Um.... I'm gonna need you to show me which button says 'O'..." ===== Myth waited on the elevator as it ascended, then just before it arrived at the office floor, she got an idea that made her giggle, evilly. Just before the doors opened, she used her magic to turn herself invisible, and entered quietly, stifling a giggle at Icy's reaction to the empty elevator. She came up behind her and turned herself visible again "Hey, Icy. How's it going? Nice armor."
  8. "When it comes to magic, it would be tragic if somepony licked me, especially Trixie" ——Zecora in "Magic Duel" That's right, the age old question "Do Zebras have magic?" I was just randomly thinking about this scene (really the whole episode), and wanted to hear what Canterlot's consensus was. I've heard people who agree that Zecora definitely seems to have magic, and those who say she's just talking about her knowledge. My thoughts are thus: So obviously, we have very little canon from the show/movie that tells us much of anything about zebras or the "distant land" they come from. Zecora herself is similarly shrouded in a good deal of mystery. What we do know is that Zecora is very knowledgeable about a lot of subjects, fauna, flora and even arcane. She's a shaman of sorts. In the quoted episode, however, we get something new and... kind of strange seeming. She mentions that "it would be tragic" if someone went against her in magic. The obvious assumption is that she means tragic for her opponent. So the assumption is that she's very skilled in magic. Which she casually demonstrates by refilling her teacup. If you ask me, all signs seem to point to at least Zecora, if not all zebras, having some level magical ability. Her casual boasting implying she has a great deal of skill. Then again, it could be that zebras don't normally have magic, but she's in fact so knowledgeable and practiced that she's overcome that boundary and can use just a little bit of magic despite not being a Unicorn. It would be very nice if this was expounded upon in the show, but as we know that's not going to happen. So it falls to all of us to decide. What are y'all's thoughts on the matter?
  9. Cornsilk Lavender His story was interesting. basically, his little sister (who's an earth pony) saved his life from a rampaging bear that almost killed him. His hind legs are permanently paralyzed but he's alive thanks to his sister (who he used to hate for reasons i won't go into, unless asked). Edit: His cutie mark is one of my more creative ones, if I do say so myself lol
  10. Novella Chronicle. I'm thinking about making an app for her, but I need to give her a backstory first. I like her design, but she's not much more than that. She has a rare genetic condition called Waardenburg Syndrome. Among the symptoms she has from this condition are hearing loss, pigmentation deficiencies in an area around her left eye that affects her coat mane and iris (resulting in discolored coat, grey forelock of her hair, and the one blue eye), and that same eye is permanently dilated.
  11. Idk if y'all know of Ponyfest Online, the first fully online pony convention that was created in response to conventions shutting down for the 'Rona, but they have two pony characters that they use for their thing. Bit Rate (left) and Neutral Net (right). I made this thing of them. Neutral Net is basically an AI that just exists, somehow, on the computer, and Bit Rate is their best friend who interacts with them via gaming.
  12. This is my ponysona, Paige Scribble (or Scribbs as she's affectionately called by her close friends), who I'd kind of like to app here on Canterlot, but... honestly, she's just a ponysona. She doesn't really have her own story, she's just... pony me. lol Her mane was quite an adventure to make. It took me hours to complete lol. I think my favorite part of her is her cutie mark (which I've pictured separately).
  13. This one is of my own OC Cocoa Nut. She's apped here on Canterlot, but, as with a lot of my characters, she's pretty different outside of Canterlot canon (in fact, i think Cocoa is the most different). Her story (content warning: violence) is quite different from her app here. And this art is from a part of that story. Spoiler: TRIGGER/CONTENT WARNING: BLOOD
  14. The title says much of it, I suppose. Looking for somepony (or somecreature) who needs a sail. I kind of want more excuses to play my sailor character, Windward Breeze. He goes all over, so he could feasibly have reason to be basically anywhere that isn't land-locked. Although my character is supposed to be pretty well versed on lands outside Equestria, and their customs, I'm not. So if you do join me, you'll have to give me some leeway for mistakes, but I'll be 100% open to your criticisms. non-pony creatures are very welcome, and starting anywhere there's a harbor. His home is in Baltimare, but he travels. He's not physically impressive, but he holds his own, and he's actually got a little something of a name for himself for it. He also has a reputation for being abnormally friendly for a sailor. You can introduce yourself as having heard of him, or not, and we can even talk about having had previews interactions if you think it's at all likely.
  15. Compass started getting up from her own bath, but laughed and almost lost her balance "Honestly, I'm not entirely sure, myself! From what I have seen, it seems to involve a heavy ball and wooden clubs of some kind. From the number of ponies with cutie marks that have these things in them coming out of the building, I thought it was popular in Ponyville. I might have been wrong, but in any case, it's really caught my interest." she climbed out and hung her wings over the bath to let the mud slide off them before she folded them up beside her "Sometimes, I feel like I'm missing out on so much that ponies get to do and what they know about. This 'Bowling' is one of them." she frowned "It can feel like my race is a huge hurdle to getting to know ponies." she mused then she smiled "But with Princess Twilight's new school, and the non-pony creatures that have been coming and going, I have been feeling more and more comfortable with showing my face more often. Honestly, the work that she's done to spread the joy of friendship is nothing short of a miracle. She's really a blessing to Equestria." she smiled wide and scratched the back of her neck "Sorry, I tend to get a little bit carried away talking about the princess. I've never felt somepony deserved to rule as much as I do for her." she laughed "Which sounds funny coming from an Aerion when it's not about Princess Luna, but that's me. I've never really fit in all that well with the rest of my kind."
  16. Flaire puzzled for a second then laughed a little "Oh, did I lose my eyes? That happens, sometimes. Too bad the other pony didn't stick around a little longer, her question is about to be answered." he reached back and undid the hair tie holding his braid in and his mane began to recede to its normal length. Then he focused to shift the colors in his coat and mane so that it faded from top to bottom changing from dark orange and yellow to a semi-dark grey and neutral purple color while he shook his head to get the braid out. he sighed with relief and stretched his hooves to scattered applause from the one or two ponies who were watching. "Tada!" he said in a tone that sort of half mocked himself. He bowed and laughed. "That's right. That's right. Try to contain your amazement." then he smiled at the unicorn "It's okay to ask questions, I get them all the time. I'm sure nothing you have for me will come as too much of a shock." he chuckled. "I've heard them all." and he winked. Meanwhile, Stage stood beside him and just shook his head smiling in a "That is Flaire, for you" type manner.
  17. Compass laughed a little "Night is certainly easier for me. Though it would be selfish of me to expect my friends to always accommodate my needs. How about nights every third week, and days otherwise. I can always wear my sun hat." she giggled "Besides, there's much more to do in the day, in Ponyville." She clapped her hooves when Rose asked for recommendations "I was hoping you'd ask that." she smiled happily "as a matter of fact, I have a list of places I've seen at night that I've always been interested to visit in the day. The spa was just one of them." she drew in the mud with her hoof not really making any visible shapes, but it helped her to visualize what she was thinking about "Around the corner over here, there's a theater. I've never been to one of those before, and although it doesn't have to be daytime, I've just never had an excuse to go before. Over here, there's a bowling alley. Bowling just seems so weird, and I just have to give it a try! Then there's a couple flower shops that seemed like fun. One of them is focused around food flowers, and I know I could just get flowers to eat at home but... I don't know, I just had a feeling about going to visit." she giggled excitedly "Sorry, it's just really exciting to actually talk about this with somepony instead of just writing lists and drawing up directions." she blushed "N-not that that's... all I do in my spare time..." // PS: Theater referring to the one the CMC visit in the Babs Seed Episode and then the Bowling Alley from Slice of Life. The flower shop, tho, refers to one that another of my OCs owns. Not as popular as the canon one, but it has my character in it. o3o (also i couldn't think of other places Ponyville has. just imagine she gave a slightly longer list lol)//
  18. Bolts Quartermane Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Bolts Quartermane Gender: Stallion Age: Young adult Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Green Coat: Brownish grey Mane/Tail: Brown, always well kept, and brushed meticulously smooth. Physique: Fit, but not athletic. Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Architectural Engineer Cutie Mark: A single bolt Unique Traits: Bolts is a math genius. He can do complicated mathematical formulas in his head like no other. He know what works and what doesn't. He's very analytical, and evaluates everything with a technical mind that just doesn't quit. History: Bolts and his twin sister Nuts were born on the same day to their parents Mr. Edward and Mrs. Lila Quartermane, successful business owners in Manehattan. From the beginning, their parents tried to teach them good business sense, hoping they'd follow their hoofsteps and one day take over the family business. Bolts was very receptive to this teaching. He felt it was very useful information that he could really learn from. Even tho, business wasn't really what he was interested in. He was more interested in learning the way things worked, and how he could get things to do what he wanted. Specifically structures. He was enamored with the feats of architectural engineering that surrounded them in Manehattan. He was always thinking about ways he could improve upon the designs of buildings and structures and loved to work with his sister on her crazy ideas, making them into things that could actually work. // This is a summarized version, the full version can be found in Nuts' app if you're interested, since the story is the same // One fateful day, Nuts came to him, in the middle of the night, with some design ideas to build a treehouse. She thought this was the perfect way to save the only tree for several blocks in Manehattan and simultaneously earn their cutie marks. Bolts agreed to help draw up the blueprints. They worked all night on the blueprints, and brought them to a friend who worked in construction so he could build it. They oversaw the construction of their tree house and upon its completion, they signed their names on the blueprint and earned their cutie marks. Also saving the lot. Which remains untouched to this day. Since that day, Nuts and Bolts devoted their lives to their talents in architecture. Bolts went to engineering school, and Nuts to design school. Though they went to different schools, they were never more than two hoofshakes away from each other. They were simply inseparable. These days, they work together on some pretty big projects, designing buildings that ponies from all over Equestria get to see when they visit Manehattan. Character Personality: Not as outwardly energetic as his sister, but he has his own kind of energy. He prefers to show his excitement in a little more subdued a fashion. He is highly cynical, analytical and leans toward skepticism. He keeps his eccentric sister grounded. Character Summary: Bolts works closely with his twin sister to design architectural marvels, that he then heads, with his sister, the construction project to build in Manehattan. He's a bit of wet blanket at times, but his sister keeps him on his toes. He likes to figure out the mechanics of things and analyze the logic of what he encounters. His cynicism and skepticism is often challenged by his sister who is by his side every step of the way. Pics:
  19. Stage Lights spoke first "Why thank you, Miss Flux! We all work very hard to make sure our performances are as perfect as they could be! I didn't get as much practice as my actors, so my singing was a bit off." he laughed "Flaire is definitely our star! He's a talent all his own." he nudged Flaire and smiled Flaire laughed "Hey, you did just as good as me, Director. Besides, the others were all great. As for my costume," he gestured to the dress he was wearing "we get custom costumes from a seamstress in Manehattan. I usually play the lead female roles because of my feminine physique." he closed his eyes and adopted his character's voice again "And I can do the voices pretty well, anyway, if I do say so myself." when his eyes opened again, they'd changed from his character's green to his own blue color, as he was starting to lose focus on his still shifted colors. "Acting is my passion. I'm glad that you enjoyed my performance." he smiled at the unicorn. // I was just reading old rps and realised I'm playing Stage Lights differently than I have in past.... I'm too lazy to fix what I've already typed, but if he speaks again, I'll do it right. lol just thought I'd say why he's changing suddenly lol //
  20. Nuts Quartermane Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Nuts Quartermane Gender: Mare Age: Young adult Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Green Coat: Brown Mane/Tail: Pink Physique: Fit, but not athletic. Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Architectural Designer Cutie Mark: A couple nuts (the metal kind) Unique Traits: Nuts has the ability to see things differently than other ponies. She's an expert at thinking outside the box and coming up with unique solutions to her problems. History: Nuts and her twin brother Bolts were born on the same day to their parents Mr. Edward and Mrs. Lila Quartermane, successful business owners in Manehattan. From the beginning, their parents tried to teach them good business sense, hoping they'd follow their hoofsteps and one day take over the family business. Nuts was always far too distracted fantasizing about new and unique ideas. She'd doodle in her notebook, drawing fantastical structures and crazy buildings that didn't seem all too realistic. Her parents didn't want to stifle her creativity, but they were concerned about her not getting anywhere if she didn't get her head out of the clouds. // I'll have a summarized version of this part in Bolts' app if you don't want to read the whole thing, since the story is the same // One night, Nuts nudged her brother awake "Bolts!" she said "Bolts! Hey! I was just thinking. Remember that old lot down the street? With the tree?" Bolts frowned "Yes, Nuts. Of course I remember the tree lot. Why are you waking me up in the middle of the night?" Nuts laid out a large sheet of paper she'd been drawing on. "I found out mom and dad bought the lot last week. They want to build a new building for the business." Bolts groaned and rolled over "Buuuut!" Nuts grabbed him and rolled him back over "What if we get to it first!" Bolts glared at his sister "Nuts. Be realistic. Mom and dad need that space for the business. Otherwise, they wouldn't have bought it." Nuts frowned "C'mon Bolts. It's the only tree for blocks around. We gotta save it." Bolts groaned again "And exactly how do you plan on doing that?" Nuts smiled wide and gestured to her drawings "With this." Bolts reluctantly got up and looked at his sister's drawings "A tree house?" he said cynically "really?" nuts bounced up and down "Hear me out! What is the one thing mom and dad love more than their business?" Bolts gestured for her to answer her own question "Us!" she said excitedly. Bolts thought about it "Well... I guess that's true... but that won't mean they'll keep a children's playhouse over a new business building...." Nuts giggled "Unless we got our cutie marks designing it." she winked. Bolts thought for a minute and started to smile himself "You know what, Nuts? That.... might actually work." Nuts laughed maniacally "I've got all kinds of ideas. and I already asked Rumble to help build it after you give my ideas more direction. You're my brains, Bolts. Make my ideas work." Bolts smiled at his sister "Well, yes. I do have the mind for structural engineering." he looked over Nuts' drawings and pointed at one "That one. That looks like something we can feasibly do." Nuts smiled "I was hoping you'd pick that one." Bolts climbed out of bed "I'm going to need my blueprint paper, a ruler and a compass. We need to make this perfect, if it's gonna get us our cutie marks. Nuts. Get me some of dad's coffee. I need a pick-me-up." Nuts squealed, clapping her hooves excitedly. Later that morning, Nuts and Bolts were working tirelessly together, tweaking and redesigning their treehouse. Sometimes, Bolts would shake his head at something Nuts suggested until she explained it again and he smiled and nodded. After several hours of work, they finally had something they were both happy with. Bolts held up the finished blueprint and Nuts bounced excitedly "Hey. Hey. Hey Bolts. How does it feel to finally design something we're really gonna build?" Bolts smiled "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Nuts. We still need to put hammer to nails." When they arrived at the lot, Rumble, a young adult stallion who worked construction, was already there with a big pile of lumber and set of tools " 'Eeeeey! If it ain't my two favorite little foals!" he tousled Nuts' mane "You sure you got your parents' permission to build 'ere?" he asked Bolts glared at his sister but she just nodded emphatically "Good enough for me!" he laughed "Let me see what we're doing!" he looked at the blueprints and smiled "Oooh! very nice! The neighborhood will really benefit from this addition, you two. I think it's a very noble thing you're doing." he looked at Bolts "This blueprint is very neat and well-organized, Bolts! Great job. Both of you!" Bolts smiled proudly. "Just let me get to work, and point out anything I need to change, or answer my questions. That's your only job, now." he tapped the blueprint "You've already done the hard part." he winked. At home, Edward Quartermane was reading his newspaper when he noticed his coffee machine was missing. He frowned. He knew exactly what this meant. He knocked on the kids' door and opened it. The kids were gone, and the room was strewn with papers and drafting tools. One paper was taped to the bed post with a note written in Nuts' hoofwriting "Out to make you a surprise. Meet us at the tree lot at noon. —Nuts and Bolts" Bolts looked up at the sky "I don't know, guys." he said skeptically "It's almost noon... if we don't finish in time..." Nuts waved her hoof dismissingly "You worry too much Bolts. We'll be fine." Rumble stuck his head out the door of the treehouse "Just one thing left, you two." Bolts started sweating and Nuts jumped excitedly "Ooh! What is it?" she asked. Rumble smiled at them "You need to inspect the treehouse, and sign the blueprint. After that, it's officially done." Mr. Quartermane walked casually toward the lot smiling to himself about what he'd seen in the bedroom. He'd never seen them work this hard on anything, before. He was sure whatever surprise he had waiting for him at the lot would be something that would make him proud. Bolts sighed "Okay. I guess you were right, Nuts. Everything looks good. We're all set." he took a quill, and Nuts took hers, but before they could sign, a voice came from behind them, clearing his throat "And just what do you two think you're doing on company property?" Mr. Quartermane called out. Nuts and Bolts turned and looked at their father, then looked back to see that Rumble had flown off "Good luck, you two!" he called back. Bolts rolled his eyes "I knew it was too good to be true." Nuts looked around nervously "I-I can explain!" Mr. Quartermane laughed "It's alright, guys. I love this surprise. It's very sweet. Did you design it?" he looked at the treehouse and smiled wide "It's very nice." he saw the blueprint on the table they were looking at "Ooh! A blueprint? Let me see." he reached for it "Wait!" Nuts called "It's not done, yet. Bolts and I need to sign it!" Bolts made a face "I guess we might as well." Nuts wrote her name all swoopy and big and Bolts wrote his neatly inside it. Just then, both the children's flanks shone brightly and their cutie marks appeared! Nuts screamed with glee jumping up and down "It worked! It worked! I knew it would work!" she nudged Bolts repeatedly "See? See? Didn't I tell you? Huh? Huh?" Bolts smiled at his sister "I suppose you did, Nuts." Mr. Quartermane clapped his hooves excitedly "Well, I guess that settles it! There's no way I can develope this land, now." he smiled "You guys will never cease to amaze me! Wait until your mother sees this!" Since that day, Nuts and Bolts devoted their lives to their talents in architecture. Character Personality: Energetic, outgoing, fun-loving and just generally a ponies pony. Character Summary: Nuts works closely with her twin brother Bolts to design architectural marvels, that she then heads, with her brother, the construction project to build in Manehattan. She's a bit of a loose screw and she's kept grounded only by her brother who is by her side every step of the way. Pics:
  21. Just in case it didn't notify you, I've made the post and tagged you. ^v^
  22. // Gratuitous tag: @PyroBlaze // // This first part is really more story than rp. you can read it or skip it. I won't be offended. I'll put a page breaker at the part that rp comes in, so you can find it easier. // Dramatic Flaire enjoyed nothing more than participating in the performing arts with his family in the Tour d'Equestria traveling theatre, so when the director (and his father figure) Stage Lights announced that they'd been asked to come back to Fillydelphia to perform again, Flaire was over the moon. He loved the ponies of Fillydelphia. They were a great audience. Some of the bigger towns they went to may have more bits to spare, but Fillydelphia really seemed to know how to appreciate hard work. He smiled as he remembered one corn farming family who had apologized for not having more bits to give, and gave them several bags of corn instead. They ate nothing but corn for weeks after. Such generous ponies. "Hey, Flaire!" Lilly Quille called across the caravan, interrupting his thoughts, "How does this look for the poster?" She levitated her drawing over to him. It was a drawing of the caravan emblazoned with Stage Lights' cutie mark. Over that was written the stylized words: Stage Lights and the Tour d'Equestria present: Hinny of the Hills Along with some time and location information. Flaire smiled wide "It really is amazing that Stage was able to get their okay to do their play on our stage." Lilly laughed "I know! I'm still very nervous! Anne's been practicing the dance steps non-stop since we got the news!" Flaire laughed "If anypony doesn't need to practice dance steps it's her." Lilly laughed back "But you know Anne. 'Everything must be perfect. Ve have a reputation.'." she imitated the Germane pegasus' accent with a smile. Flaire smiled and pointed at the poster "I think Stage will love this poster. You really are an asset to this theatre, Lilly." Lilly laughed "Look who's talking!" she nudged him "Thank you. I do try my best." Just then, a loud stomping sound could be heard just out the front of the caravan, and Flaire stuck his head out "Yes, Thunderhoof, we could never forget about you. Nopony else could pull this massive caravan by themselves." Lilly yelled out to be heard over the wheels "We would be lost without you, Hooves!" Thunderhoof smiled proudly and nodded. Then he made a gesture with his hoof and stamped three times. Flaire nodded "Okay, I'll let them know. Thank you, Hooves." he went back inside and, just then, Stage Lights had come up and was admiring Lilly's art. Flaire spoke up "Hooves says about thirty minutes before we arrive. He didn't say, but he looks pretty beat." Stage thought for a second "Well, he can rest backstage when we get there." he called out so Thunderhoof could hear him "I'll take care of setting the stage, today, Thunderhoof. You've done enough work, for now." a thunderous stomp of approval could be heard, followed by slightly picking up the pace. Flaire laughed "I guess we'll make that 20 minutes." Stage smiled then turned back to Lilly "So just those two things, and that poster will be perfect. Thank you, Lilly. Now, I'll go let Anne know about the time. You two make sure you're ready for dress rehearsal in 20. It's our first musical, and I want to be sure we do it right. The author is doing us huge favor giving us this play, so let's make them proud, yes?" Flaire took a stance and his coat faded dramatically from grey to a dark orange, while his mane faded to yellow and grew longer. When he reopened his eyes, they'd changed to green, and when he spoke, his voice flawlessly matched that of the main character, Teresa, in a practiced but still improving Itailian accent. "I shall do my very best, Singor Lights." Lilly clapped her hooves "Your accent is improving, Flaire." Flaire bowed "All thanks to you, Miss Quille." he changed his colors back, but kept his hair at length, and spoke in his normal voice. "Could you help me braid my mane, Lilly?" Stage smiled "I have been very nervous about this, but knowing you've been working hard on it helps me to relax, just a bit. Be sure to get some singing practice in, too. This is a musical, afterall." he took a deep breath and turned "I'll be sure to practice as well. Our Baldasarre couldn't make it and dropped last minute. I'll be taking his place." Flaire frowned a bit then sighed "Well, if anypony can pick up a part last minute and totally kill it, it's you, Director." he winked. Stage smiled "Thank you, Flaire. Your vote of confidence is just the boost I need." ———————————————————— //////////////////BREAK/////////////////// ———————————————————— The massive caravan had been standing in the field just outside Fillydelphia for the past week. The posters that Lilly Quille had designed and copied had advertised the return of the Tour d'Equestria with their new play. The well acclaimed work of a Canterlot author who'd lent the script to the theatre to perform where they went. There were plenty of excited ponies waiting to see what the troupe had to bring to this play. Thunderhoof waited beside the caravan for his cues. Inside, Everypony stood waiting in a shoulder-to-shoulder line, in costume, for the stage to open, when Stage double tapped the wall of the caravan. Thunderhoof started stomping, growing in volume until it reached a loud thunderous rumble, quieting the audience, then reducing to a volume sensible as a sort of drumroll. Stage used his magic to amplify his voice and project it outside the caravan, while also unlatching the caravan wall to ready it. "From across the mountains," Stage began his introduction "and over the plains. From all over Equestria and beyond. I, Stage Lights, bring you the talented ponies who make this traveling theatre possible. Ladies and gentlecolts. From the creative minds at Manehattan Theater, The Tour d'Equestria presents..." Thunderhoof kicked the side of the caravan, and the wall facing the audience pivoted on its bottom edge, falling slowly until it landed parallel to the ground, supported by a couple legs that had been attached on the outside, the wall becoming a stage, backed by a red velvet curtain behind which the cast stood waiting. The curtains opened and the cast all walked out to the middle of the stage. "Hinny of the Hills!" Stage Lights finished, leading his cast in a bow to the applause. "Starring Dramatic Flaire as Teresa" he gestured to Flaire who stood forward and bowed, then Stage stood forward "And myself as Baldasarre." he bowed. The applause slowly died down, and all the actors except Stage Lights went back behind the closing curtains. "Please. Enjoy our first ever musical performance. Our actors have all worked very hard to bring you only our very best. As a courtesy to their hard work, I ask you to save your applause until you see the curtains close, and keep conversations to a quiet minimum. Thank you." he bowed and backed up to disappear behind the curtains that just finished closing in front of him. ============ // sorry, lol, not about to type out a whole play haha // ============ After the performance, the curtains closed on Flaire as he sang the last note of the final song, the applause growing until the curtains were fully closed, staying so for only a half second before reopening with the entire cast standing shoulder to shoulder giving their final bows. When the applause died down, the actors all came down from the stage to interact with the fans. Flaire and Stage stood beside each other as their characters, chatting with ponies most of whom wanted to congratulate them on their portrayals of their characters, or on their skilful singing despite not having done a musical before. One pony came up to speak to Flaire "Dramatic Flaire?" she asked to which Flaire diverted his attention and replied in Teresa's voice "Yes, that's me." he cleared his throat and continued in his own voice, still donning the colors of his character "Sorry. Yes, that's me." The pony smiled "I don't know how you do that. Your voices are so perfect! If I remember correctly, the last time you visited, you played Princess Twilight?" she asked, to which Flaire nodded "That was one of my favorite roles to play." He adopted the princess's voice and quoted her " 'There will always be darkness in the world, but there will also always be those who find the light!' " The pony clapped her hooves and continued "Impressive range! How do you color your coat and mane, if I may ask. Looking up close, it doesn't look like you're wearing any paint." Flaire smiled and spoke in his own voice again "Trade secret, I'm afraid. But if you come to enough of our plays, you might be able figure it out." he winked. The pony laughed and nodded to him as she left to let others have their turn.
  23. Well, then, a long as she comes up to initiate contact, I'll have it sorted. I'll make the thread later. I'll be busy all day, today, but when I'm done, I'll make it. ^v^
  24. Haha gotta love contrivance. Cool. I have some ideas, I'm just not sure how to initiate an interaction between them. He's not a fan of changelings (seems ironic but he has his reasons), so if he knows she's one, he'll avoid her. But if she were to pin him down, he'd be polite and not ignore her.
  25. Cool. So he app says she's a nomad Where are some of the places she likes to be? How long does she stuck around in one place? And most importantly, is she into theatre? o3o nauseous just if there was a traveling theatre troupe in the area performing a play, how likely to stop by and see it is she? and how can we get her interested in making Flaire talk to her?
