I wrote another pony mad libs! I know I'm not around much anymore, but I still love you all, and wanted to share!
If you have never played this party game before, the rules are simple:
A) Write a word for each of 12 blanks in the hidden story BEFORE you see the story.
B) Open the hidden message, and replace the numbered blanks with the words you picked.
C) Post your version of the story (with your words bolded, and the whole thing in spoiler tags) for all to read and enjoy!
Parts of speech refresher:
Noun (person/place/thing): the PONY sang a SONG about a MOOSE
Noun, plural (people/places/things): the PONIES sang SONGS about MOOSE
Noun, Abstract (ideas): Your actions have filled me with JUSTICE, COMPASSION and DISPAIR.
, past tense (action): Yesterday, you JUMPEDVerb, future tense (action): You will JUMP tomorrow
(describes a noun): the QUICK BROWN fox jumped over the LAZY dog.1) Noun, Abstract
2) Adjective
3) Noun, plural, things
4) Unit of Time, Plural
5) Noun, plural, things
6) Verb, future
7) Noun, plural
8) Noun, abstract
9) Verb, future
10) Animal
11) Noun, thing
12) Emoticon/Smilie
DON'T OPEN THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE WRITTEN YOUR 11 WORDS!
It all started when the cutie mark crusaders started arguing over a(n) (11). This allowed a (10)-equis named (1) to (9) his bonds and spread (8) over Equestria. Celestia rallied the Mane 6, but the (7) of Harmony were Missing!
When they went on a mission to (6) them, (1) separated the ponies with (5) and pitted each against themselves. The ponies were disunified for a few (4), but Celestia Sent Twilight dozens of (3) to remind them of the (2) adventures they'd shared. With relationships restored, they defeat (1) and returned peace to Equestria.
And thus opens season 4. (12)
The last one as a LONG time ago : )

The sort is infuriatingly inefficient. I've observed multiple instances of superfluous questions caused by not dividing the sides into big enough groups. Progress is very slow...
For instance, I like all of the mane 6 more than Big Mac, and after it knew the order of the mane 6 for me, it compared Big Mac to my number 1, then my number 2, then my number 3, etc all the way down through my number 6 AND all those ponies that manage to trump mane 6 ponies. It should have gone from number 1, to my number 6, and then done more if Big mac were between the two. Bad programmer! No cookie for you!

If there was some other background ponies, then the list would be completely different. Sadly, they didn't mention them.Yes, poor lotus and aloe. Actually, I'm going to add them in.
The list was edited to create less confusion.I edited mine to correct a small error due to forgetting who snowflake was. I still call him "flex", though that may never have been official.

I'm glad to see others were horrified by fancy pants. This is a 100% departure from his character. The two CANNOT co-exist.
The critic was a terrible character. He sucks at his job and shouldn't have it. Additionally, he has no self respect if he pretends to change his opinion for Celestia, then goes back to snubbing it.
The art was excellent. I loved how the word balloons literally crushed or lifted her up, and did you notice the first set? Most are negative, but a few are nice! In my first pass, I missed this, as did Fluttershy. Isn't that how it goes? The nice things get drowned out.

They cleared up a few things that were bugging me, ramped up the danger, and gave more personality to the villains.
I was having a blast at this point in the last 4 comic series, so having hope of a good conclusion is a step backwards.
-
I went to pick it up, but it was delayed a week at my comic shop.
-
Looks like they took the effort to provide a high quality regional version.
From the twilight VA, in the second video "the others [beyond Twilight] all have very different personalities. I think everyone can definitely identify with one of them."
Well said.
The episode feels a bit different than our version, but not in a bad way.
when Twilight tries to get out of brunch for instance, "FINE" sounds like frustration, while the Japanese version sounded like resignation.
Good VAs: Twilight, Spike, Applebloom, Fluttershy, Pinkie, Nightmare Moon
Unexciting VAs: Applejack, Rainbow, Rarity

You are probably PST. Is the time in my post 4:46 for you? We will describe the game start in terms of PST and EST.
-
Are you talking about doing it this weekend Browneh?
That works for me, but I was hoping to give about 5-10 days advance notice.
-
Welcome!
I love your the contrast between your name and avatar.
-
The absolute minimum number of players is 7. We need to get at least that many responses before we set a date.
-
I'm in England. I think the times you posted would be 6pm-9pm for me, which is doable.
daylight savings time is annoying for calculating these things, but I think EST is currently GMT -4. That would be 5pm-7pm GMT. I thought we might shift it to eat less of your evening, but if that works for you, I'd prefer it, so I don't have to wake earlier.
-
Are all of the participants in the United States/Canada? If so, 10am PST (1pm EST) through 12pm PST (3pm EST) might work. Including Europeans is also possible but we would shift forward a couple hours. I've had a 3 hour skype with a Tenkan while he was in England, and I live in Alaska.
Saturday would work best for me, since I often have responsibilities on Sunday morning. However, I could potentially swing Sunday if we were careful.
Please, if this interests you, post here with times that would work so we can gauge the possibility.

You do not need a mic for skype. You can IM on it as well.
In a normal game, you pass to the same person each time, so, conceivably, each person could be in a drawing room with the person before them, another room with the person after them, and simultaneously on skype with EVERYONE. The MC could make sure the game moves along and that we stay together.
The bigger trick is convincing people to all get online for two hours at the same time.
-
Though this comic might add a little fuel to those that think Luna was trapped ON the moon rather than in the moon.
heh, I had forgotten about that.

-I would like to see our new alicorn stay the way she is, but oft forget she has wings.
Heh. That would be funny.
I can already see Twilight scratching her nose with a wing while saying, "But how could I get up there?"

Maybe we could use a combination of FlockDraw and Skype, but then again I'm not sure everyone would appreciate being forced to draw digitally.
Doodle or Die is another option but again, it'll force everyone to draw in the digital medium once more.
Ah true, that would be tough for me. Ideally, I could draw at a desk, quickly scan it, and send it off. However, I would try to draw with a mouse for the first time if that is what it would take.

Fantastic round scamps, and good job hosting 2 games at once Weesh!! I really liked having the dual rounds going on at once
Thanks!
I haven't decided yet if it is a good format, or if we just got lucky to have so few misses. Nearly every player got exactly what they signed up for this time, but who knows what will happen if we do it again? Only one player was forced to do a pic when they signed up for line/line, but Phil was a great sport about it and turned in the picture very quickly.
One nice thing about dual rounds was that a game could slow to a crawl, but because it was in the lead, I gave it plenty of grace, and it didn't feel like the game had stagnated. Or at least I hope it didn't. This happened about 3 times, and probably the only time it was noticeable was when both games slowed down simultaneously. Well, you can contradict me if you noticed. In either case, I tried to post everyday and say something to let you know the game was being pushed, even if there wan't progress. Perhaps I over-communicated?
I am still hoping for a "hard-core" mode in which all participants participate every round, just like in the paper version of the game. Perhaps there is a website that could make such a thing easy, and we could all get together one afternoon for it?
-
I meant to say this earlier, but Starstorm's winking spike cutie mark is one of my favorite aspects of this round : )
Also, I've been sending these to my sister, and she has expressed interest in joining a game : )
Now to delete a few score of PMs to make room in my inbox...

From angie:
...my favourite part was the picture after my AJ/RD one, and the line after it.More people be loving on Accellerant, and Sparkleheart!

I couldn't see StarStorm's pics in the post, but I was able to see them by opening them in a new tab.
I added the thumbnails to the game posts.

Kudos to the line writers for really helping to push this game in interesting directions (SparkleHeart's "Spike is so manly it's downright terrifying." got a good laugh from me!)
Yes, the line writers definitely kicked it up a notch this time around. While it was fun to see 10 spidershys, it is more fun to see evolution.
I was a little surprised that both the lines I got involved Spike. I was wondering if both games' original lines were about Spike.I wrote my line, but then I had the opportunity to examine Imagination's line before I started the game. So I squinted my eyes, opened the spoiler tags and ran my eyes across it in one rapid pass. The only thing I got out of that pass was that Twilight was the subject. I had resolved to use my second choice line if Spike was the subject of Imagination's line, but that wasn't necessary.
If you look closely, you will see that Spike entered game 'A' with Accellerant's pic. At this point, Accellerant had already participated in game 'B. I wonder if consciously, or subconsciously, that inspired the super manly spike. This implies that perhaps we were NOT playing two simultaneous games, but ONE major game in two parts. If the games have an effect on each other, that adds another layer to the experience.
And well done to Weesh for running two simultaneous games!Thank you!
What was that experience like for you guys? One of the disappointments of the normal games for me was that I pay very close attention to the game for two weeks, but I only actually get to participate once. I was hoping that this would keep people better engaged and make the wait seem easier to take. The primary drawback, i.e., the inability to firmly pick line or picture, turned out to be a non-issue this time. In fact, Fawkes was relieved to get a line for game 'B'.

Sometimes it is best to let these speak for themselves...

Fawkes and I had a chance to discuss the games. He obviously loved them, and was particularly impressed with Accellerant's pictures.
I appreciate that spike found his way out of the game that started with him, and became the feature of the one that didn't start with him. Is that a coincidence?

LOL!
That turned out much better than I hoped!
I've still only made about 5-6 of these (3 of which were BAD), so I still worry that they will flop.
