1. Heyo I'm looking for tumblrpones to have crossovers with for my own pony tumblr - the Ask The Exalted Ponies which runs in parallel to my story on fimfiction (both are linked in my sig) I'm chiefly looking for three different types of crossover participants: 1) Ones where Cash Charmer (The wealthy, charming and mind-controling stallion) either hits on your OC and drama ensues (Cash will do anything that walks...) - and he's really not ashamed of what he does. He'll offer money, try to use mind-control charms and magic... none of which necessarily has to work, but part of the point of these crossovers would be to portray Cash as a scumbag. These can be NSFW. 2) Ones where Sunrise Glow (Selfrightous, sanctemonious, always-hooded, holier-than-thou adolecent almost-but-not-quite mare) looks for ponies to recruit as cultists to worship Celestia (Who is more of an actual god and not a ruler of the land in my setting) Will ask nicely first, but like any zealot the end justifies the means - so she'll ultimately gladly use mindcontrol charms to get your OC to tag along, and she'll really whip out the mindcontrol charms for actual cult services. Basically your OC could, for example, resist her charms and start wondering "Why are all these ponies here acting like brain-dead zombies..." since your OC will be the only one with free will. How your OC wants to handle things after that is a little up to you, could simply flee, or confront Sunrise, or try to save the cultists. Lots of options. 3) Bright Machine Speaker (Old former military doctor now super magic doctor and craftspony) - if your OC has any kind of medical condition he can fix it. And I mean any. Limb regeneration, a cure for allergies, mental issues, unicorn horn broke off, mutations (Poison Joke, curses and whatnot), visual imparement (If you don't want your OC to wear glasses anymore...) - basically, there isn't the thing he can't cure. This is kind of tumblr crossover will be much more easy-going than the two others. And don't mind Speaker's very posesive shapeshifting girlfriend, even if she helps him by occasionally molding flesh as if it was wet clay. Any takers? I should note that I only really need one taker for each of the two first ones - while the medical clinique can have multiple visitors.
2. Just a fun little thing I discovered recently while trying to find a way to read pony fics AND play games at the same time: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/speakit/pgeolalilifpodheeocdmbhehgnkkbak Its an app called SpeakIt - it makes an icon up where you should have your AdBlock icon, and you just highlight text on a page, click the SpeakIt icon and it... speaks it. Makes for wonderful story-reading, even if it does fumble a little on some ponyfied terms and whatnot, but that's par for the course for text-to-speech programs. You can fiddle around with its settings to change its voice and whatnot. I just find it really handy for when putting on a good story and listening to it while playing Planetside2 or drawing.
3. Oh the last episodes were incredibly helpful for my story pony soldiers holding spears in their hooves changelings feeding on love? Fits perfectly with exalted's fae that feed on emotions, will and virtues... This is awesome
4. Third chapter is up thoughts anyone? I know its a bit gruesome - but I never intended to sugarcoat anything.
5. http://www.fimfictio...-Exalted-Ponies And its up for public viewing chapter one is up As soon as I proof read the second chapter I'll post that as well any feedback would be lovely. I know my sentence structure tends to be a bit too long - I'm working on that, but its a quirk. Also, how well does the first chapter introduce the basics of the setting? Is the exposition done well, or is it too telling, not showing
6. ok, first chapter is done and uploaded to FiMFiction - pending approval... What I had planned for the first chapter became the first two chapters - 20 pages were a bit much for one chapter... I'll post a link here when its approved for public viewing
7. Posted this a couple hours ago: http://www.canterlot...-crossover-fic/ basically I'm looking for input and ideas for this fantasy RPG crossover fic. I guess the biggest problem with asking for help and input for the story is that I don't think there's that many fans of that particular RPG here. Oh well, there's a link to explain the setting in the thread anyway. Silvermint - if you don't mind advice from someone else: It sounds like you know fairly well what to avoid. That's a good start. You could always go for a montage with a lot of descriptions of emotions. Make the reader feel and understand the gradual decline in your character's spirit. Generic example: It started out so innocently. When the door-hinge snapped when he came home from work, leaving him unable to close his front door properly, he took it in good spirits: Sure, it'd be freezing cold in the morning, but it was late now and he couldn't get the door fixed until the next day. Indeed, the next morning wasn't that fun, the floor being really cold, and rain had seeped from the busted door and ruined the carpet. Ok, not fun, but it happens. A few days later when it was all fixed he breathed a happy sigh, but that happiness was quickly lost when he got to work: A big order had come in, so everyone had to pull overtime. So much for that concert ticket he'd been saving for. The foreman apologized, but said that there was nothing he could do. This annoyed our hero, but still he simply shrugged: It wasn't the end of the world. For two whole weeks everyone at the workshop worked overtime, from dawn till dusk, to get enough units made. It was both backbreaking and monotonous, but the overtime pay should make up for all that, right? There was pride in good work, and our hero took solace in that. Unfortunately then one of the drills broke down, which delayed the whole production line. One of the drills simply snapped due to overheating, sending sharp bits of steel flying everywhere. One of the shards hit our hero, but at least it was a clean wound. Still, it hurt, but not enough to excuse not coming to work - but that did slow down the healing quite a lot. At the end of the two weeks it became painfully clear that the deadline wouldn't be met. It became very difficult to get up before dawn and trot to work, knowing that no matter what your work wouldn't be good enough. Damn drill, damn overtime, damn wound. Our hero would return every night tired, hungry and with a dull ache where the shard had dug in. It itched every night, and our hero simply didn't have the energy any more to not itch back - which only made it worse. At the end of the two week run our hero was miserable. It certainly didn't help that because the deadline wasn't met he lost his job, due to downsizing at the workshop. Sitting alone at home, with this damned new rug that cost too much, and new door that'd probably break again if you just looked at it wrong. Our hero was no longer a happy camper. It was a few days later that the door knocked. Our hero stuck his head out and barked out a sour: "What?" And that's how you can go from happy to grouche in... a couple of paragraphs. Again: Put emotions into it, tell us what the character feels. Is work hard and getting him down? Write that. Bad luck? Do tell, and why does that bother him? How does it bother him? Did it cause him to miss breakfast? Or be late to work? Many things can get a person down.

9. Greetings bronies Some of you may remember me from a months ago when I asked for various opinions on things like "What does it mean to be a brony" and "what don't you like about bronies" well... about a month ago I finished my work, got my exam done, and now I have a masters degree. Go me. so... wanna see what I made? http://psitech.keens...loneComplex.pdf Its 116 pages, contains metric flankloads of internet psychology, observations of the effects of anonymity or pseudonym-use on the internet, as well as all the other fun things one might expect a master thesis on internet anthropology to contain. But you want a TL:DR, don't you? Sorry, can't do that. There's a reason this is 116 pages, not 3 pages. But, I do have a copy of the presentation video i made for my exam. it is 7 minutes long and explains fairly well what my work is about. You should quickly be able to see the connections between my theories on Standalone Compelx Communities and the bronies (1:45) But beyond that, what's this good for? Very simple: It explains how bronies work. It explains that there are no brony leaders, no brony membership lists, no 'true' way to be a brony - it explains how being a brony is, for the individual, a very subjective thing, while at the same time the entirety of the brony community can seem to be a deceptively uniform entity. I make roughly the same conclusion for the furry fandom and that of Anonymous. As always, I will be answering questions.
10. Thanks yall - keep 'em comming And Ashton: you're right - I am all over the place... at least when it comes to bronies, furries and even Anonymous. I don't do in much outside of that, but that still covers a lot.
11. why thank you what can I say I know all the traditions of the internet
12. Greetings Bronies I am doing a master thesis on trying to explain the nature of various internet subcultures, including bronies. mMy focus is trying to explain the often decentralized concurrent non-commital participatory nature of such communities, to which I have found the bronies to be a very good example of this. Or in other words: I have found no true final definition of what it means to be brony, beyond a shared interest in MLP:FIM and MLP material in general - there's no leaders, although some members of the community do have more power than others (site admins and mods, con and meetup organizers, that sort) - but ultimately no one can say "your way of being a brony is wrong, my interpretation is right", at least not in any way that can be enforced, allowing anyone to be a brony, should they want to be so. Indeed, the many different interpretations of how to be a brony is quite interesting to me in this context. I mean, I've seen stained glass windows, clay figurines, costumes, loads of art, even more reports on meetups. There are apparently many ways to express one being a brony. With this in mind I would like to ask you the following questions, which you can either copypaste and answer in this thread, or copypaste into an email and send to me at aluthj09@student.aau.dk Ideally you should answer via email - it is much easier for me to index and go through responses that way Please try to keep your answers personal, without any bias for what others might write in the thread. I only ask for your age and general location on the planet for statistical use - I do not need/want your real name or any personally identifiable information. 1) How old are you and on what continent do you live? (europe, north america, australia, africa, south america...) 2) What does it mean, to you personally, to be a brony? 3) Are you a brony? if so, for how long? 4) How do you personally express being a brony? (through art, roleplaying, give your car rainbow stripes, socializing with other bronies, etz) 5) Are there any aspects of brony culture/communities/expression that you do not agree with/like? (something you don't like, or dont feel match the way you understand it is to be a brony)
13. Now that's an interesting spider-GIF there. *saved* welcome? both to me and the other new guy? *flutter-yay*
14. yay - a 'hi I'm new here thread' that I can post in Glorious welcome to the foxy ninja? most definitely
