Nhhhnnnhnnnneeeighhh! Whilst adjusting a ceiling fixture, a Pegasus intern's ears pricked to the horrible noise coming from the entrance to the studio. Eeeeeennnnhhhhnnnn! "Isn't the music studio down the road?" The Pegasus muttered to herself, trying once more to concentrate on her work. Rrrrgh! She couldn't take it any more. While the studio was busy as ever, she couldn't stand that awful screeching. Disgruntled, she made a beeline for the doorway to find a beige earth pony, the handle of a large noodle box clutched between her teeth, her saddlebags stuffed with similar items. This must have been the team's order of grass stir-fry from the Shining Gong. The Pegasus cleared her throat. The earth pony emitted a muffled, but undoubtedly loud neigh, rearing up onto her hind legs. After a short while and an exchange of long, blank stares, she calmed, sheepishly placing the box in her teeth onto the ground to speak. "Sorry about that. This is the order, yes?" She spoke fast, but with many pauses between each slurry of words. The poor intern responded with a nod, after which the beige mare proceeded to reach into a saddlebag for a clipboard... Only to quite ungracefully trip right over the box she had placed on the ground before her, her hooves like dominoes, tumbling to the ground in a messy heap of pony, cardboard, noodles, sauce and grass. Indignantly, she wrenched herself from the ground, only for her legs to buckle once again, sending her straight back into the mess she'd made of the food she'd meant to deliver. Her deep blue eyes slowly met with those of the shocked intern, looking as if she was about to soil herself. "I'm... Going to tell my... Boss that this order and the order after are going to be free now..." This poor, incompetent mare was none other than Fortune Cookie, arguably one of the better cooks at the Shining Gong, but also the likely cause of most of the restaurant's profit loss. The lucky charm coins emblazoned across her flanks got her the job, but the true meaning behind them would surely be the cause of her losing it. That, and her miraculous ability to mess up a delivery to such a painful extent.

The character's coming along fine, but I really want to keep the whole horn growing into the head thing since to me, it doesn't seem that gruesome. Age and disease can also kill a pony, and it's not as if anyone could see what's going on in her head. At present, I'm working on the pictures and am tweaking her backstory to be a little less Mary-Sue-ish.

Yep, it most likely will be the end of her eventually, but there have been people and nonhuman animals in the real world who've survived half their brains being blown off so perhaps her horn may be angled weirdly in there. Nonetheless, I apologise if it seems a bit dark, but honest to Celestia I am by no means tacking that on as a "quirk" or anything just to be cool. I... But... Okay, you may or may not believe this but I am actually half way through writing an app for a pony with the exact same thing. Wow. I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry ^^: Fair play to you, you got there first after all. I can always tweak my app so don't think I'm mad or anything. Well, maybe a little Just felt like pointing out a weird coincidence. I won't comment much on the app; I prefer to leave that to the RP Helpstaff, but I will say that we do have Derpy Hooves who is... special... so there is at least precidence for this kind of thing. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Fortune Cookie Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn, though her outwards appearance suggests she is an Earth Pony. Pelt Color: Pale pastel yellow Mane/Tail Color & Style: Pale pastel blue. Her mane is often piled on top of her head in a messy bun held together with a single white chopstick; her bangs fall over her face and her tail appears to have been docked. Eye Color: Dark blue Cutie Mark: Three lucky coins with a red ribbon through them. Fortune gained her cutie mark relatively young, as a result of a jellybean guessing game - somehow, every student in her class except for Fortune herself guessed the exact number of jellybeans in a jar. Fortune was known for having strange things happening around her, then the day following the jellybean incident, it showed up right there on her flanks. Having been the first in her class to get a cutie mark, she at least had something to brag about. Physique: Fortune appears to be a regular Earth Pony, due to her horn growing into her skull rather than out of it. However, she is slightly smaller and lighter than the average Earth mare. Residence: Manehattan Occupation: Cook at the Shining Gong. Motivation: Fortune has dreams of living the high life, though is unsure as to how to achieve this. Parents: Teriyaki (Mother, Earth Pony), Chow Mein (Father, Unicorn) Foals: Wonton (Daughter, Unicorn), Sashimi (Son, Earth Pony) Likes: Sweets, money, pretty things, stallions, gross-out humour, sleeping, being with her friends, sculpting. Dislikes: Prunes, scary movies, loud noises, sudden movements, being bored, sitting still, soggy hay, math. Character Summary: Fortune hails from a faraway eastern corner of Equestria, having moved to Manehattan quite some time ago for reasons even she is unsure of. Her own parents were an earth pony and unicorn, with Fortune appearing to take after her mother, but was later revealed to possess a horn - which unfortunately couldn't be put to much use. At present, her two foals are being communally raised by her extended family. Fortune has no obvious magical abilities, and even lacks the basic telekinesis inherent to unicorns, though appears to have an uncanny ability to attract copious amounts of concentrated misfortune whilst miraculously avoiding any serious physical harm. Her very presence can cause things completely out of the ordinary and unexplainable by any non-magical means to happen, seemingly for the sake of something unpleasant happening. Whilst all this may be dismissed as coincidence, her occasional bouts of utter misfortune have been found to be followed by streaks of good luck in random individuals around her. It is suspected that her unicorn talent may be, as her cutie mark indicates, to bring good fortune through luck spells. Unfortunately, as her horn happens to be on backwards, this ability is triggered involuntarily, exchanging her own fortune to dampen negative effects on others. Sadly, she doesn't and cannot choose on whose behalf she suffers misfortune and hence the good luck streaks which result from her random bad luck spells often end up happening to complete strangers. Whilst cognitively impaired in areas due to brain damage caused by her malformed horn, Fortune is still a sweet, kindly pony who is always there for her friends whether they want her there or not. She may at (most of the) times come off as annoying, but she means well and merely wants to love and to be loved. Unfortunately, like everypony without a completely spotless mind, she does at times do less than savoury things such as using her looks to get what she wants and exaggerating her difficulties to get out of doing things she has deemed to require more effort than she could be bothered giving. Luckily for those around her, she is a terrible liar and can be weeded out by even the worst judges of character. Fortune has a fairly juvenile sense of humour, which may come off as crude to other ponies. Nonetheless, she enjoys cracking jokes, even if they aren't necessarily any funnier than they are wrong on various levels. Despite appearances, Fortune is a very creative and resourceful pony, though has extreme difficulty with hard logic, mathematics and also has a tendency to trip over her own hooves at times. ...Okay, so that was really sudden. I recall reading the species list over and over and over, then suddenly it's edited so a Hydra is specifically listed as unacceptable to be RPed by non-staff. This makes me really mad, since I waited two months for this app to be considered, my hopes were put way up by some of the feedback and it really hurts to have a concept just stomped into the ground like that after so long. I know you're only doing your job, and I respect that. It's nobody's fault but my own, but just understand that it's hurtful and can even be construed as slightly insulting. I know it sounds like I'm just some noob groveling and being upset over not having things go her way, but I really do believe I can do this right if given a chance. I mean, not that I'm really expecting a chance at all, but I'll try and make a more acceptable character concept and maybe one day get to RP with you guys.

I am still interested in keeping this character (these characters?), since I've always been fascinated with those mythical multi-headed lizard things. That giant yellow Hydra was the best part of Feeling Pinkie Keen, IMO. I've edited my app a bit, made the girls illiterate and a little closer to bestial to go with what little of the FBB Hydra we've seen in the show. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that a Hydra in the FiM-verse would not be quite as bright as a dragon, but still sapient and capable of speech, given the fact that it's a giant dragon-like lizard and there are talking dragons and sea serpents who appear in the show. I really, really hope this gets in. I really want to RP, and I will try my best to play my characters in a way that makes at least a shred of sense.

[ Creature Related Character ] Name: Georgette, Lola, Jessica, Peri Gender: Female Age: Child/Pre teen Species: Hydra Eye Color: Cyan Physique & Colors: The sisters stand at twice the height of a stallion, even taller with their necks outstretched. Their shared, pastel green-scaled, stocky little body bears a slight resemblance to that of the Froggy Bottom Bog hydra, though their feet and tail bear more pronounced aquatic traits. Their four sea green finned heads are equipped with venomous fangs, though these are small and more for stopping prey from struggling once it has already been caught. Their back is lined with tiny, blunt ivory spikes and their webbed feet and tail transition into the same bluish green as the fins on their heads. Residence: A lagoon in the Everfree forest. They can sometimes be seen roaming about large bodies of water near the outskirts of Ponyville. Occupation: None. Likes: Georgette: Pulling pranks, exploring, Pegasus wings, scaring animals, messing with her sisters, laughing at others' misfortune, "playing" with her prey. Lola: Food, sleeping, being comfy, relaxing, fish, getting away with napping while her sisters do all the work. Jessica: Being told to shut up, ugliness, getting dirty, problems she cannot solve via logic or mathematics, losing arguments. Peri: Having no privacy whatsoever, shallow individuals, Georgette, being bored, her sisters mocking her for her idealism. Character Summary: The four sisters are believed to have originated from Froggy Bottom Bog, where another Hydra resides. Since then, they had moved onto another area of the forest, a clear lagoon oft used by feral ponies as a watering hole. Unlike most hydra, who tend to stay around their own territory, the sisters are known to wander, sometimes toward civilized areas - such as the outskirts of Ponyville - where they have been suspected of being responsible for disappearances, nightmares and unexplained illness in ponies. Citizens of nearby townships have reported that those who went missing after sightings of the sisters were mostly wounded pegasi and the occasional unicorn foal. Even healthy, fast-flying pegasi are claimed to have been taken by the monstrous foursome; for there were tales of the winged ponies being snatched up by the tail mid-flight. Rumours and old mare's tales aside, the girls are in fact a rather decent bunch with more in common with four fillies than with the monsters they were made out to be. However, that isn't to say they aren't still wild beasts with predatory instincts beyond their control.
