  1. Following Seaspray and Wind Rider, Hookline made sure to keep up while looking back from time to time. Maybe Whisperpaw really did need just a little alone time, but he wanted to make sure the poor pony wasn't left in the dust as they continued on. A question caught his attention, however, causing him to look back over at Seaspray. "I'm not picky, but a cafe does sound kinda nice." He told them with a shrug, not preferring any option over another. If Wind Rider wanted to go to the cafe, that'd be perfectly fine with him. The mare's demeanor seemed to suddenly change, which confused Hookline slightly. Unlike Whisperpaw though, this was a good change since she was beaming. How do they change so quickly? Whisperpaw from fine to scared stiff (literally), then Seaspray from shy to extremely happy. Maybe she liked cafes a lot? Apparently Hookline had more to learn when it came to social interactions. The thought made him chuckle quietly and Seaspray's smile was becoming contagious, but then a galloping sound from behind interrupted. "Oh, Whisperpaw, is a cafe alright? It's probably got a nice atmosphere." He added the last part as a way to entice him, just in case the unicorn was still feeling a bit shaken up.
  2. Welcome! Awesome art (your pony is adorable xD), I hope you enjoy the forum!
  3. That last episode really gave us some nice background pegasi, haha. Pegasus: Flex (A.K.A. Steroid McHuge), obviously. xD Unicorn: Lyra Earth Pony: Rose
  4. Whisperpaw was not doing too well ever since the pegasus arrived, although Seaspray tried to calm him down a bit. It didn't seem to help much unfortunately, and his owl continued to try and comfort him. Hookline was a bit confused as to what was going on, given how nice Wind Rider had been thus far. There was nothing intimidating about him in the slightest, in his opinion. Whisperpaw needed time apparently, demonstrated by Espitola hooting at them even more. "Uh, well I could definitely go for some food. I'm starved." He claimed with a sheepish smile as his stomach made a noise. Come to think of it, he had completely forgotten to eat breakfast since he wanted to get such an early start on his day. Food might help calm everyone's nerves as well, which still puzzled Hookline. There was no point in awkwardly asking about it now, however, so he simply kept it to himself.
  5. Welcome! You get extra cool points for the 'Dinkleberg' avatar. xD Oh, and not to mention the tattoo, that looks awesome!
  6. Welcome, I hope you enjoy the forums. Throw some of your art up here if you'd like, mutated kumquat or not! xD
  7. So Hookline's suspicion was somewhat correct after all! He was worried that he'd made a fool of himself there. "Forest ranger, sounds excitin'. And yep, you got it." The last part of his statement was referring to Wind Rider's question about his occupation, which made Hookline stand a bit taller out of pride. "I actually own an aquarium down by the docks, but fishin' is a hobby. I try to teach it to the little ones when they're interested." He informed the pegasus, just to clarify that being a fisherpony wasn't necessarily his job. It was then that Hookline noticed Seaspray wasn't next to him anymore, but was hiding behind him. She was beginning to feel more comfortable, apparently, since she was slowly coming forward. If not for this, Hookline probably would have said something, but he didn't think pointing out her timidness aloud would help her confidence, so he stayed quiet about that. Her acceptance of his invitation, however, was met with a wide grin. "Oh, that's great! I'm sure the fish will love seein' a new face!" His enthusiasm was obvious in his voice, which replaced his usual neutral tone. Nothing excited him more than to show others the wonders of the sea, even if they already appreciated it. Speaking of which, Hookline hadn't invited Wind Rider! "Durin' a day-off, you can come down to the aquarium as my guest too, if you'd like." Hookline was unsure how interested the pegasus would be, but he figured that he may as well ask just in case!
  8. Smile is one of my favorite songs, simply because of how happy it is and it's message. It's cheesy as can be, but who doesn't like seeing their friends smile? Also, dat beat. xD Even though I don't, listening to that song makes me want to say hi to everyone I pass by haha.
  9. I'll submit one of Hookline when I get the chance, I like this idea.
  10. Welcome, I hope you enjoy the forums! My personal favorite is Fluttershy. xD (but after the song Smile, Smile, Smile, Pinkie is a favorite too haha)
  11. The comments from both Seaspray and Whisperpaw made Hookline feel overjoyed. Not only did they both sound interested, but they even sounded like potential visitors! "I do consider myself lucky. Doing what I love everyday doesn't seem like a job, honestly." Thinking about his duties, his occupation wasn't all that difficult. Taking care of the fish was easy to him, it was the business-side that threw him for a loop. "I get a fair amount, but I'm always looking for more ways to bring in people. I'm no business pony." He admitted with an embarrassed chuckle. "Maybe the two of you would like to visit sometime...? Uh, free of charge of course! As guests of mine." Inviting people and then forcing them to pay a fee wouldn't sit well with Hookline, which is why he made sure to add that last part. Part of the reason he was such a bad business pony was because he cared more about sharing the wonders of the ocean with everypony than about the money he could make off it. He always made enough bits, but he could probably be making more as well. As long as others enjoyed themselves though, he was more than content. Whisperpaw answered his question also, essentially telling Hookline what he guessed based on the context he used the job's title. It seemed similar to Hookline's job, although it was more all encompassing and didn't confine him to a single building. Despite his love of all water life, Hookline focused on taking care of mainly those living near his aquarium, since that's what customers would see. "Sounds like you enjoy your work too." He told the stallion with a grin, before being distracted by a familiar shadow. A pegasus pony drifted down to them, simply giving a nice greeting. The familiarity was bothering him somewhat, and he was beginning to feel bad for it. "I'm sorry, but have we met? I'm terrible with faces." That was a bit of a white lie, because Hookline was actually quite good at remembering ponies. There was just something that Hookline was missing, and he couldn't put his hoof on it.
  12. (OOC: Didn't even realize it's been my turn, sorry for the wait! Hookline will be leaving since the vest is mended and to make way for others to join. Thanks, it was fun! ) Guiding Light and Apple Bumpkin introduced themselves, and the mare had a lot to say (much to Hookline's delight). The fisherpony could empathize with Guiding Light, as he understood how difficult carrying on a conversation could be. Apple Bumpkin went on about visiting her cousins and about her reason for being in the shop. It was reassuring to know that no one was particularly antsy to put their order in, because even though Hookline was patient as can be, he knew not all ponies were the same as him. The mention of Rarity's status peeked his interest, considering that was mainly the reason he had come down as well. "I had heard the same, it's why I had to visit the shop. My vest pocket ripped and I didn't know where else to go." Not knowing how to sew wasn't a big deal, at least not until you actually need something stitched up. Rarely did Hookline find himself in dire need of these talents, but in situations like this, he was grateful to know someone like Rarity was around. He was getting his vest fixed and a suit design. Technically, the vest was fixed already, as Rarity came over to inform him. It brought Hookline much joy to see his vest in a fine condition. The pocket was mended, and could once again be used for carrying his bait. "Thank you Rarity, this vest and I have seen some good times. Would be a shame to get rid of it on a account of a silly pocket." Hookline put on the vest, touching the pocket just to be sure, then inspecting the rest of the vest with pride. She hadn't done anything to it other than fix the pocket, but nonetheless he felt it was looking better than ever. "I'll be sure to check back on that other order later. For now, I'm going to go fishing." The last part of the statement was said with a lot of enthusiasm, ready to test out the 'improved' vest of his. Plus, he needed try to see if he could catalog any more of the marine biology around Ponyville. There wasn't much in comparison to Hoofington obviously, but if he had missed anything, he wanted to make sure to find it. Before leaving, he made sure to turn around and give his acquaintances a slight smile. "It was nice meeting you both as well." The noble and Rarity's sister seemed to be having a conversation, or ending one, so he thought it best not to disturb them. He then headed out of the boutique, a spring in his step as he went back to work.
