  1. Embermane rubbed her eyes and yawned. She was very tired from all the walking she had done. She listened sleepily to the others as they tried to figure out where she was going to stay, Personally, as she'd been on the road for about a fort-night, she was perfectly well placed to just laydown where she was and doze, as she had been doing for that long. she ticked her hooves under her smell frame as she sat down on the dewy grass outside of the small town.

    embermane felt, strangely safe actually, now that her 'cutie-mark tantrum' was over that is. She settled down and just listened lazily untill she was nearly asleep.

  2. Ember's ears drooped yet again, as she looked at the pegasi. "My..." She didn't really feel the need to lie at this time, because she was so very far from home. "... My auntie told me that my mum and dad would hate me if I didn't get a Cutie mark... so I have to get one!" She cried. "I have to get one because my auntie said so! she can see everypony's future." Ember sniffled again.

    -A long ways away, a gypsy Zebra in a circus sneezes.

  3. Ember sniffled, all this talk of 'Home' was makeing her sadder then ever She began to cry again, kicking her little hooves as Razor held her by her tail. she could not go home! not untill. When the mighty winged gryphon however mentioned helping her, she brightened up almost at once, and just stared at the creature with awe. finnaly, she would know her place in her family!

    {short post is short. XD }

  4. Ember's ears drooped again. "I didn't know what was on the other side... I walked through it... " She got up on her very muddy hooves and looked around, again she was being ignored. Well, that's alright she thought, it was because she didn't have a cutie mark, and her flank was very bare. She knew this, because her aunt had told her this would happen... Ember didn't know that her 'dear old aunt' had been lieing to her...

    "I wanna go home..." Ember sniffled miserably. She knew this was not a thing that could happen, but she so longed to see her mother again. She started to walk back toward the forest slowly, while the others were talking amung themselves. She didn't want to be a burdon on anyone but there was the fact that she could not go home yet. "...but... I can't. Not untill I get my Cutie mark..."

  5. Ember just hung her head. She didn't want anyone to care for her but at the same time she didn't want to be on her own. She sniffled a few more times and thought about what her aunt had said. she perked up a bit and said to everypony around her. 'How... How do you get a cutie mark?" She was desperate to go home, as she missed her mother quite dearly, but the thought of her mother and father hateing her was the, worst. Possible. Thing. Ever.

    she stared around at the croud who seemed to be ignoreing her as she was very small and they were all talking amungst themselves. Ember's face grew hot, she had a talent for changeing her moods in the blink of an eye, She raised her voice and practically yelled. "HOW DO I GET A CUTIE MARRRRK!!?"

  6. Ember sniffled once more and wiped her eyes on one hoof, they were dry and iritated, but she could not stop crying lately. She looked toward the second pegasis and mumbled something that sounded like 'member-game' and hung her head.

    She didn't want anyone to tell her parents where she was, infact, she didn't even think they cared anymore really. After all, her aunt would never lie...

  7. Embermane sniffled as the griffion put her down, and tried not to run, not like she had any place to go that is... She sat back on her rump, that was quite bare, and flushed a bit as her stomach gave an unearthly growl. Ember hung her head, it had been a whole day since she had stopped to eat those weird flowers in the forest.

    Ember looked up at the others when she was was asked something, and her face fell again. "n-no one misses... me" She hiccupped. She knew her aunt would never lie to her... "They... hate me..." She whined then as her head drooped lower. she was in trouble, she knew it. She didn't have to have a cutie mark to know this either, Her aunt had predicted it actually, just before she'd run away from home. She remembered the words her aunt had spoken, and the look in her mother's eyes that night as well, and she had ran. And ran. And ran, untill she could run no longer.

  8. All this strange attention was too much for poor Ember, she began to cry, loudly too. She snivvled and sobbed and wailed at the top of her small lungs. She didn't want to know anything really. in the back of her mind she knew that she was sumwhat safe, there were two pegasi that she had seen before this latest fit of hers, but only slightly. there was also that monsterious beast that held her as well.

    eventually Ember's sobs that surely had soaked the feathers of the one holding her, desolved into more manageable wimpers that indicated she was somewhat calm at last.

    {sorry for the short post, at the liberary. :\ }

  9. Ember was so frightened by the large and imposing looking beast with a long beak that she could not even speak when addressed. Her ears lay flat against her head and she shook all over in the griffin's claws. She had no idea what was going to happen, and yet still had no concept of anything past the 'now' and 'now' she was just too scared to think about anything elce. Her mouth gaped as she looked wide eyed at the mighty creature before her. Ember was stareing so intently that she never even noticed that she was in the air.

    On the ground, the great manticore which was actually only a small baby manticore and not fullgrown, lept up in fright at the lightning and turned tail to run the other way back to it's home, at the edge of the forest it whined and looked back. it had only wanted to play with the small little thing, maybe bat it around a bit... stupid... mean... pony.

  10. It is said, among a certain family, that when the moon shines brightly in the week before winter begins, that a the oldest filly will gain her cutie mark. This family, has passed this tale down through many generations, and still it has never come true. While everyone in this family believes it to be true, it has never come to pass...

    Untill now.

    Embermane didn't know how long she'd been wandering. It was night, and she was quite hungry. She stopped in the forest she was traveling through, to chew on some odd looking flowers by the roadside. They were chewy and tasted like fresh lemons. She swallowed and teared again, as she'd been crying for a few hours now. She began walking again as the light started spanning over the horizon. She looked through the forest and smiled. The end of the forest was near, She had not noticed in the dark. Embermane bounded forward through the trees and saw she was actually on a small cliff in the forest, the trees spanned out for a little way more, before she could see in the distance, a town, in it's middle what looked like a large tree. The timid little filly with the blank flank, didn't know what the town was, but she knew that it ment safety, and this forest was anything but safe. She took off in a trot toward the edge of the forest.

    Embermane didn't really know where she was going at first, until she found a small path in the forest, She came to a tree that was carved out in the shape of a house near mid-day, but she was afraid of the things she saw there and ran the other way.

    Embermane walked until her hooves were sore and her eyes dry, She'd cried a bit more. She layed down in the shade of a very large tree, lost again. Not knowing she was only a little way from the edge of the forest. She lay there for a little while dozing in the fading light of the sun, When there was a noise. A rustling of leaves. She turned to look, and paled. It was a ferocious looking Manticore.

    Embermane screamed shrilly and bolted from where she was, the manticore close on her heels. She Ran faster then she'd ever imagined she could, and soon broke through the trees onto the plains closest to ponyville. Ember chanced a glance behind her and still the terrible beast followed. She screamed again, and kept running.

    Right into Ponyville.

  11. Embermane mumbled her name still not quite sure what to make of these two stranger ponies. It was only now that she began to look around, ponyville was a lot bigger then it looked from the forest where she'd trekked through. She didn't know the name of it, but it had been long, dark, and full of things that made creepy sounds. She didn't fancy going back there any time soon.

    { Yawns. it's too early to be awake. =__=}

  12. Embermane's stomach grumbled it's protests again, and she gulped. Maybe it would not hurt to ask. "Um... Maybe..." Her ears perked up a bit, "Do they have banana pops?" It was her favorite food. Not really a food really, as it was more of a carni treat of a banana dipped in chocolate, but it was what she was missing most about home, exept her family that is.

  13. Embermane was just thinking about all the things she could eat when the coversation was turned to the reason she was all along. Her ears drooped. "I... don't havea..." She trailed off mumbleing something that sounded like 'cuddle-bark' and whined.

    { also sorry for shortness. BLAME MYSTICS FOLKS. :| }

  14. Ember's ears flopped pathetically as she followed in the wake of the other two before her. But brightened a bit as she stepped into the sun warmed cafe' with that, and the promise of 'anything she wanted' to eat, her mood lifted quite a bit, and she momentarily forgot about why she was so sad.

  15. ugh. Yeah. Sorry. >_< My GF wrote that and I forgot to change it.

    It's all done. and you know? Since I keep making so many changes I will change the title to just Ready. T^T

    also, I was referring to the stories about the mare in the moon, but i changed it to something generic instead. =3

  16. Ember was not sure what to make of these strangers, but as everypony knows, a young filly's stomach stops for nopony, and it gave a great rumbling that made Her flush a bit, illuminating her freckles. She didn't think these seemed like bad ponies, her mother had taught her how to tell the difference between a good pony and a bad pony, but Ember was still very scared. Her stomach gave another mighty roar or protest, and she struggled to her to feet. She was rather dirty and looked very tired as well.

  17. Ember had just closed her stinging eyes when the sounds of rapid hoofbeats rent the still quiet air of the small tightly packed pony town. She flattened her ears to either side of her head against the din and tried her best to just ignore it, and become invisible. The last thing she needed was somepony finding her and telling her parents should they really be n Canterlot at this very moment.

    Ember was just thinking she was safe again when somepony spoke, and she very nearly jumped right out of her skin! She whined again, not wanting to gaze up at the strange looking purple - blue pony, nor her bright pink companion, Ember didn't really like being this way, but everything made her more then a bit uneasy now since running from her loving mother and father.

    She flattened hear ears more and hunched in such a way that her very bare flank was exposed quite clearly and made her look all the more frightened. Being around carni-folk and strangers who visited them were fine, because she always her parents looking out for her, now she was all alone, and these were very strange strangers indeed.

  18. 'Ember' (as she was called for short) huddled in the shade of a building somewhere in the bustling small village of ponyville. She had been here only a day, as she'd run from the main city, Canterlot, hearing a rumor that a traveling circus was heading that way. She wanted nothing really more then to hide from any circus folk until she'd found someway to gain her cutie mark.

    Ember whined and lay her head down again. This was a nightmare. She had less then a week to gain her cutie mark or her parents would hate her forever! Her aunt had told her so, and her aunt would -never- lie. would she? Ember sighed and watched the other ponies walking around doing their daily chores. She saw many other small ponies and wished she too was back home. it had been quite a while since she'd seen her mother and father, but she could not go back until she had discovered her talent and acquired her very own cutie mark.
