I was thinking maybe you could meet my character, Drake Whistler, on the road somewhere. I have no idea where yet, but he wouldn't be a permanent addition to the group unless everyone wanted him to be.

Drake was busy hanging up and hoofing out flyers for a little meeting he was holding tonight. He had rented out a meeting room in a spiffy hotel, which he had to rid himself of quite a few bits. Not that he minded. It was all for the greater good of science and his research. The flyers read, "Greetings! I, Drake Whistler, have arranged to have a meeting set up for the discussion of the topic of dragons. I find them very interesting, and would like to discover what you think! Any piece of information or gossip or even personal experience you have had with dragons would be greatly appreciated. The meeting hall is located..." It went on after that to give the specific details of the meeting. Hopefully, the majority of the ponies would attend later this evening, but he had mentioned that anytime that would be convenient for each individual pony would be fine. It was currently just after noon, and he needed to make his way back to the meeting hall. He hung his last flyer and nodded, satisfied. He turned around, scooping up the rest of his flyers. Sticking them in his pack, he made his way through the throng of the Canterlot Plaza. He found the hustle and bustle slightly comforting, Sometimes it was like this in Cloudsdale, his home town. Though most of the ponies here were more... refined. And sometimes snooty. But that was none of his concern currently. That is, until he suddenly bumped into someone, dropping his pack. Papers had spewed everywhere. He shook his head. "[colour=#daa520]I apologize for that. I should've been watching where I was going.[/colour]" He began picking up the spilled documents. He was so focused on the endeavor, he hadn't bothered to look at the other pony. He finished gathering up his papers, stuck them back into his pack, and was about to continue on his way when he heard a unfamiliar voice say, "Excuse me? Sir?" He turned with a "[colour=#daa520]Yes?[/colour]"

Drake had been wandering the trails for about a week now. He had grown accustomed to longer trips but it still bothered him when his hooves ached so. Currently, he was reading through his notes. "[colour=#ffa500]While there are the main types of dragons, I conjecture that each has its own subsections of classifications. I will research more about this later. In the meantime, I need to find a city or town with some delicious food.[/colour]" He looked up from his book to realize that he had already entered the town of Trottingham, and find he was standing right in front of the Three Lakes Cafe. "[colour=#ffa500]Oh, finally! An eatery![/colour]" He put his notebook away in his pack, opening the door to the cafe with a jingle of the bell above the door. There were already many customers within, and the smells, oh, the smells! He couldn't hardly keep his composure. He walked up to the counter, gazing at the menu for a solid minute before making his decision. [colour=#ffa500]"I'd like a cup of tea and an Orange poppyseed muffin, if you'd please"[/colour] He took a seat at a nearby table and pulled his sketchbook out. He began drawing the inside of the Cafe to occupy himself.

I have changed all of the things you have suggested. I was just wondering if I adjusted the statement on dragon lore well enough, or if it needs to be removed completely. I added a little bit more to the personality section as well. Time to play the waiting game.

I added more to the history section and a little bit to the personality, as well as correcting any errors I saw. I also added links to his general appearance and his cutie mark as well, so you may have a more detailed/adequate image to think about.

Name: Drake Whistler Gender: Male Age: Stallion Species: Pegasus Eye colour: Light blue Coat: His coat is a bright orange, and he can sometimes be seen wearing a travelers coat. He has freckles on his face, and a red diamond on his forehead. His hooves are also dyed red, and he wears bangles around his front left and back right ankles. Mane/Tail: His mane and tail are.. .pointy, to say the least. His mane is arranged in a Mohawk fashion, while the shape of his tail could be compared with a sythe of sorts.It is arranged in an alternating pattern of purple and teal. Physique: He is generally skinny, and very tall. He is built for speed in air, as opposed to speed on the ground. He can lift an average amount of weight, meaning he's not weak, but not strong, either. He studies dragons and dragon lore. Fairy tales, documents, whatever he can lay his hooves on helps. Cutie mark: His cutie mark is blue book bearing a yellow dragons head upon it. When he was a colt, he would fly around above Equestria, and every once in a while he would see a dragon or a group of them migrating. After a while, his curiosity was piqued, so he went back to Cloudsdale's library and looked for books about dragons. To his astonishment, there was a lot of information, but still many mysteries about dragons. He read tome after tome of known dragon information and, being so enthralled, he read the entire section of the library within 2 weeks. Some time later, while he was flying around the skies, a weyr of dragons was flying along the same path as him, so he cautiously joined them. When it looked like one of them was about to get aggressive he began whistling one of his favorite lullabies to calm it. To his surprise, it began humming along with him. When he went home to tell his parents about it, they pointed to his flank and said "Oh, look! You got your cutie mark, Drake!" He looked, and indeed, there was his cutie mark. Well, not born so much as adopted, though he likes to think of himself as actually related to his adoptive mother and father. Anyways, as he grew up with one sister, and his parents. His sister is a little bit older than him, and being of a generally same age, were compatible and almost never fought. He and his parents always got along because of his general nature. He hated making ponies mad, so he just did what he was told within reason. If he couldn't do something, he worked it out. As he grew up, he gained a lot of friends for the same reason. He went to Hoofington after he finished school. He got some new friends in Hoofington after a short while. Being a very diverse town, he heard a lot of different opinions on dragons and many tales as well. He got some leads, read some books, and went off after a year or so. While he was there, he met with many other researchers, sharing details. He bought several notebooks, and has now filled up 7 of them. They are filled with drawings, information, and he also has a separate few for rumors he's heard, so that he could prove or disprove them if he ever unlocked all the secrets of dragons, which he probably wouldn't. He is now currently on the road, talking with travelers, and gathering information everywhere he goes. Character Summary: He is a very kind pony, who always looks out for other ponies before himself. He also memorizes things very easily, which is handy for his research. He is bold, but not so much that he puts himself in danger. He is also very empathetic towards others. He is a very open-minded pony. He is also very cunning. While he can be extremely energetic, he can also be calm and patient. Overall a great pony to be around, and very friendly. On the other hand, he hates being alone or having other ponies hate him. It really irks him, because usually he has done nothing wrong and is always willing to fix it. Some things he is good at would be retaining knowledge, whether it be in his head or in one of his several notebooks, and drawing or sketching, whichever he feels like at the time. Drake's current dream is to create the largest encyclopedia on dragon lore that there ever was. One of his weaknesses is talking to mares that he likes. He just can't muster up the courage, and when he does, all he can talk about is his research. He has a habit of whistling to himself.

For some filler, I figured I'd put these up. All I was take a 3x5 note card and draw a large eye on it. then I worked from there. A cat and a dragon. Looks good, if I do say so myself!

I have Twilight, AJ and Fluttershy finished, but they are at school. I'll have to get them in next week, because I am currently on Spring break! But hopefully I'll remember next monday. XD
