    "Sure, why not," Jed said.

    "No," Jed simply replied. The figure continued to watch them.

    The dark figure reappeared, merely observing them. Jed didn't take notice as the observer watched their little conversations and observed their every move.

    Jed followed Halla, but suddenly had the feeling he was being watched.

    "How about now? I really don't have anything else to do," Jed said.

    "Yeah, sure, sounds good," Jed replied. In the distance a dark figure watches for a few seconds, then leaves. Jed didn't notice it.

    "What?!" said Jed in response to Ryan's ridiculous ideas.

    "Great, could you bring me there?" asked Jed.

    "Well, Jed was just the first name to come to mind. Wait, alicorn?" He felt his head, and sure enough, there was a horn. He had already noticed the wings. "I'm... royalty?" he asked himself. He wasn't sure what to think. Then he came up with an idea: ask the princesses for information! Yes, surely they could help! "Do you by any chance know how to get to Canterlot?"

    "Darkness... I only remember darkness," Jed said, and looked to his flank. "I have no idea what this means," Jed said. His cutie mark appeared to be a circle with a sickle and keyhole inside. "Oh, and uh, call me Jed by the way."

    "Listen, I need to find out, well, who exactly I am," Jed started, "I just woke up in that forest, and I can't remember a thing. Who can help me?"

    Jed shook Showboat's hoof. "Uh, hi. Listen... I'm kind of lost here," Jed said to the pony.

    "I ... don't know. I can't seem to remember... well, anything," replied Jed. He looks over to the town. "You from around here?"

    "I can't seem to remember..." the alicorn thought about a name to use for the time being. "Jed. Call me Jed."
