Ah, yes, a perfect visage of the mighty bloodline of heroes that courses through the veins of the Chosen few... McDerp, thanks so much for this amazing gift art! The armor detail and shine are stunning, and I absolutely adore the overly dramatic billowing of his tail and ribbon. Plus dat wing flare~ Dawnguard is totally ready to add his portrait to his myriad of in-the-works epics and ballads, for all future generations to stand in awe of!

Lookit that cheeky little grin~! Absolutely love the shading on this one McDerp - the transition of fur to snout is spot on, and the fur along the neck is gorgeous. It's like, I can literally see the lines of highlights you used all along the fur, but it gives off such a finished and polished look. And those antlers, of my! The look downright scary, like claws reaching outwards to grab at something... -is totally imagining SlenderBou right now-

Unimaginative title is unimaginative. Haven't really been motivated to draw anything recently, but I happened to get into a discussion with someone on Skype over the look of the Saddle Arabian horses shown on the show. More specifically, how I really did not like how they were designed. Someone then challenged me to try designing one, which inspired me enough to give it a try. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how he turned out (though I only just now realized he kind of uses Katsuo's hair design, only in a curly variation). Something bugs me about it though...I think maybe the head is too large for the slender body/legs. But I'm not sure. Either way, there's this guy, who may actually get apped in the future. Don't think I'll actually RP him at all if I do, but a character application? Maybe, maybe~

I will forever love how you draw eyes. So sparkly and pretty...
  5. I went ahead and edited it anyways, because a character's species is kind of an important detail to take note of. Changed the tail and muzzle to make them look more 'zebra' like! Link to edited picture
  6. Is she?! Oh man, I'm sorry - I referenced our conversation over Skype when you first sent me the request, and you said she was acrobatic, "as much as a pony/zebra can be acrobatic". So I guess I took that to mean she was a zony. My bad! I can fix it if you'd like, that's a pretty egregious error on my part. And thank you guys, for the kind words! Usually I honestly don't mind it, but for some reason that day it just got to me. Thanks for the reassurances and support, really means a lot to me!

I was feeling pretty depressed over the lukewarm response my Gala outfit uploads got, until I saw a single comment from one of my most ardent art supporters. And so, here's a little gift to show my appreciation, QueenCerali. Your comment really made my day when I was feeling quite down and upset, and I really appreciate your support. This is Cerali's...ponysa, if I remember correctly? A zebra, not a zebra/pony hybrid, like some people might believe. I didn't have much to work off of, so I gave it my best. Hope the cutie mark is correct - I tried to make the little spirals look like solar flares. (...Also, I just realized that I tend to default to this pose a lot. Character head turned one way with body facing the other, one leg raised. Need to work on drawing more dynamic poses...) Zony (c) QueenCerali

Three characters of mine are participating in the Grand Galloping Gala, so of course they all needed outfits, the third of which was a conceptualization of Dawnguard's formal outfit. This would have actually been my favorite outfit if I had come up with it by myself. It is, in fact, a variation on Owain's outfit, a character from Fire Emblem: Awakening of whom Dawngaurd is based off of. I was planning on drawing him in a tux or more traditional formal outfit, but really felt that a modern outfit wouldn't fit Dawnguard's dramatic and theatrical personality. Which is when I turned to the character he's based off of, tried to fit the outfit to a pony's body, and played around with colors. The end result looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. I've certainly received more compliments about Dawnguard than my other two characters, at least!

Three characters of mine are participating in the Grand Galloping Gala, so of course they all needed outfits, the second of which was a redraw of Inkbrand's first GGG outfit. Probably my favorite of the three outfits I drew. I liked what I had come up with on the old GGG picture I drew of Inkbrand, but wanted a newer picture in my updated style. However, as I was drawing, I felt that there was too much going on with his outfit, so I decided to tone it down. Also kept a lot more of his accessories, and a mix between his natural hairstyle and the gelled hairstyle he had in the first picture. In fact, just about the only thing I kept exactly the same was his draped scarf. His draped shimmersilk scarf~ Nah, not really. Or maybe it is shimmersilk, a gift from a very pleased customer or something. All I know is that it's a very shiny and shimmery silver scarf, and I love it to pieces.

There characters of mine are participating in the Grand Galloping Gala, so of course they all needed outfits, the first of which was Mei's cheongsam. I was originally intending to use the picture I drew of Mei in a hanfu, as that is a more traditional outfit that would have better fit her humble and traditional upbringing. However, I realized that the hanfu really would have been a royal pain to walk around in. Plus, given that most mares wear large puffy ballgowns, I thought a short cheongsam would make her stand out more in a crowd. My favorite part was probably designing the patterns on her dress. Very abstract, I just kind of took a brush and made some vague flower and branch shapes~
  11. Aghdflselkfsdfds McDerp. The coloring on this is stunning. I love how the overall effect is a deep blue, but then you have the highlights of purple and some pink and aquas and just...just.... *awesomeness overload*
  12. From the album: MLP Characters

Obviously not a MLP character, but I'm putting it in this album because I want it to go with everything else, nyah ha. Theme image for the Eastern banner, with a nameless Qilin welcoming all to explore the lands of Long Guo, Neighpon, Polyneighsia, and Hesperia. I actually like how the design for this random Qilin came about - maybe she'll go up for adoption in the future, it'd be a shame to have her around only until a new banner replaces her.
  13. From the album: MLP Characters

The theme image for the GGG, featuring a rather sly looking Twilight waving about some invitations to entice ponies to join the party. Seriously, join the GGG, it's a pretty big event! Again, tried to copy show style as best I could, and I think I did a pretty good job of it. ... Her wings are there, somewhere. They're just...hiding, underneath the dress. ...Yeah. Yeah that's it. Twilight Sparkle (c) Hasbro
  14. From the album: MLP Characters

This one was easier than the GGG background, mostly because the shapes used are more vague and less defined. Inspired by the Guilin Mountains in China, though I really didn't do them any justice! (Because seriously, look at those mountains. So, majestic.)
  15. From the album: MLP Characters

The background used for the GGG header. I tried to copy show style as much as I could, so I basically took a screenshot and copied all the colors, and tried drawing everything exactly like I saw. Show style is not easy, lemme tell 'ya...though I think I did alright, especially for a background, which are not my forte.

I started drawing in the hopes of turning out a picture to use on my profile, and got really carried away with it. As one does. A brief glimpse into a section of Inkbrand's Tattoo Parlor, with Inkbrand kicking back and looking bored while he waits for some customers. I sped through the sample tattoos hanging on the walls because I really was just out to practice drawing Inkbrand and some posing, but they are part of his shop and I couldn't just leave them out. As an aside, Inkbrand's probably going to be renaming his parlor into something more thematic than just, "Tattoo Parlor", soon. Have a few ideas in mind, but I'm still mostly brainstorming...if anyone has any good ideas, let me know!
  17. Hey what that's over there -steals Wind Walker and makes a break for it-
  18. From the album: OC Art

No idea how voluminous and fluffy hair is suppose to work with those holes...but they do. Don't question it, just enjoy! Just a quick draw and color of a Changeling Foal...or whatever young Changelings are called, playing around with some color schemes. She turned out pretty cute - might app her in the future, might just put her up for adoption, but for now, I just wanted to play around with a large, fluffy hairstyle and some pretty colors.
  19. From the album: OC Art

Been a long while since I changed my avatar, so I decided to sketch another human!Inkbrand picture for it. I think this is actually my favorite rendition of a human Inkbrand of all my attempts - he looks like a young adult, not too young and not too old, with good musculature without being incredibly beefy. Might go back and add some basic shading to this, but for now it was just an hour or so sketch 'n color. Sketching the face seemed to take forever though, definitely a weakness of mine. Think I'm going to try practicing more humans in the future, though which character should I practice on?... -steeples fingers together and leans backwards in chair-

Eeeee, look how sinuous and twisty he is~
  21. Heya, just in case you missed 'em, you're up in Endings and Equestrian Skies again!

  22. I really like this color scheme, for some reason. I think because of the gradient on his hair, going from deep blue into teals and yellows. Nice drawing!
  23. From the album: OC Art

Really lazy coloring and shading on this one, but that's okay, because this was just a random idea that popped into my head, hard enough for me to want to chug it out in one go. After I posted a picture of Dubstep's character Yu Xin, a couple people immediately contemplated one of their characters becoming interested in her. Cue this idea of a bunch of guys vying for her attention in a classic "one girl surrounded by romantically inclined guys" anime pose. Thought whether one, or any, of these guys are actually sincere in their attempts is a mystery. And of course, Yu Xin enjoying all the attention she's getting, lulz. Human!Yuri

    From the album: OC Art

Another "I felt like drawing but didn't know what to draw" evening, so I decided to try practicing humans again by sketching a MLP character of mine I've yet to "human-fy". I like how she came out, though her expression looks a little bland. Though I'm not good at conveying expressions with this semi-realistic style, it's just something I need to further practice with. But otherwise, yeah, not too shabby. Her hair was especially fun to draw, trying to translate that waving, hair spine onto a person. I think it'd be neat if I was able to eventually conceptualize all my OCs as humans at some point. At this point, Yuri makes...five? ...So that's like, ten more human drawings to go, lulz.

Got a notification today that it was Dubstep's birthday (or rather, it was Dubstep's birthday a couple days ago, and I didn't realize it because I wasn't on Skype for the weekend). So, I decided to draw some gift art, featuring none other than this crafty Qilin. Really love her color scheme - simple, but all the colors mesh really well together. Happy belated Birthday, Dubstep!
