  1. It was evening in Ponyville. The sun had already set and the moon had risen in the sky. In town many of the ponies had already closed up their businesses for the day save for a few eating establishments. Many of the ponies were at home with a few still out in town talking to each other. Yet there was one pony who seemed to stand out in this setting. In the town square, seated on a bench, was a colt, young enough that he received his cutie mark about a year ago. In the moonlight his white pelt and silvery mane and tail seemed to be illuminated. He appeared to be deep in thought about something as he looked up at the moon. "What is my purpose," he asked himself, "I got my cutie mark, and I know my talent, but now what? What am I supposed to do with creating light other than helping ponies see?" Frustrated he put his hooves to his head. "I wish there was somepony who could do the same light magic or somepony who knew about it to teach me some things."

  3. Heading into town Clock Works looked around happily and smiled 'So this is Ponyville... Wonder what I should I do first...'. Strolling past several colorful buildings and eventually into the market place. Having normally kept to himself up in his clock tower most of the time, he hardly knew his way around Canterlot, let alone a town he had never even seen until now. But this didn't matter, he came to Ponyville to meet new ponies and to see what life has to offer, other then clocks and watches, and he was determined to make his first impression in Ponyville, a great one, now if only there was somepony to make his first impression on.
  4. Arctic Sun had closed her Ice Cream Shop for about few days while she goes and visit Ponyville for the weekend. She left for Ponyville early yesterday, and she plans to be back by the end of the day after tomorrow. When she get first got to Ponyville, she did not know anything about the town, and asked a local pony what is in Ponyville that she can go and visit.
  5. Prince Blueblood fumed inside of his private, enclosed carriage. He'd been fuming for the past few days, since he had been given this assignment. But the closer he got to his destination, the more grouchy and disagreeable he became. But, as he been told several times this week already, this was his job. He was a Prince, he wasn't supposed to have a 'job'! Besides, he had underlings that could be doing this! But when the immortal ruler of the land instructed you to personally oversee a project, you did not argue with her. The little town of Ponyville was growing rapidly in the past year. New homes, businesses, and streets were popping up at a rapid pace. Princess Celestia had mentioned the influence of the 'Elements of Rhythm" (or something like that) were contributing to the growth of the town. (He hadn't really paid much attention to that part.) But with all the growth, the palace's maps of the town were woefully out of date. Now, anypony that worked for Blueblood could have done simple maps of streets and such, but Ponyville bordered the Everfree Forest. The forest was governed by its own strange laws, and its borders changed seemingly at random. So Blueblood, as the Royal Cartographer, had been tasked to not only map out the growth in Ponyville, but to accurately plot the borders of the forest. So Blueblood found himself in a carriage on the road to Ponyville, all but one of his servants left behind, and he thought he might die of discomfort before this was all over. "Honestly, you'd think that Celestia could have at LEAST let me use her chariot!" he complained to nopony in particular... for about the fifth time. “This road is so bumpy and dusty!” “Indeed, Sire, undoubtedly a mistaken oversight on the part of Her Majesty,” replied the other unicorn in the carriage, Starched Collar, Blueblood’s butler. He rolled his eyes when he was sure the Prince was not looking at him. “How soon before we reach this flyspeck of a village?” Blueblood complained, failing to notice that the carriage was already slowing to a stop. One of the pony chauffeurs unhitched himself from the carriage, and came back to knock on the door. “Your ‘Highness’, we have arrived.” He called through the door, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Blueblood, oblivious to the tone in the chauffeur’s voice, nodded in acknowledgement. “Indeed. Starched Collar, you may announce me,” he told his Butler. Starched Collar opened the door to the carriage and stepped out with a sigh borne of long suffering. He quickly unrolled a red carpet off the step of the carriage, then took at deep breath. “ANNOUNCING HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, PRINCE OF CANTERLOT, AUGUSTUS BLUEBLOOD!” he shouted across the square. ((Your Prince is here! You may bask in his radiance! Or kick dirt in his face, either way works.))
  6. Blanca walked through the streets in Ponyville, alongside her new roommate, Turn Tables. "Are you sure I can FIND a job?" she asked. "I'm pretty sure these ponies would be afraid to have a blank-flank work in their shops. I'd assume that there'd be a desperation to get a cutie mark, such that the blank flank ends up destroying things...." She sighed, knowing that she was more than likely right. Older fillies who didn't have a cutie mark by this point would usually go and try to do absolutely everything to get it.
  7. "...Flares? Check... Mortars and shells? Check... Firecrackers? Check. Well, that's it for tonight. Not many ponies stopped by to buy anythig from me. I guess it's time to celebrate my spare time!" A yellow-ochre pegasus pony with a dark grey mane, blue eyes, and a mushroom cloud cutie mark had just finished taking inventory of the fireworks he had. Sales of fireworks at the Firework Shoppe were getting low. "Although right now, I just want to take some time to get away from here for a while, and see what's up." The pegasus packed up some games and a snack pack consisting of a hay-and-daffodill sandwich, some hay fries, and a juicebox. If anything, today was just another ordinary low-business day. And so he set off, on a quest to find new friends to hang with, when he bumped into somepony else.
  8. It was a nice fall morning and Fluttershy was out bright and early. She needed to run some very important errands. It seemed that a little cold had broken out among the wild bunnies and she wanted to treat them all. So after gathering all the sick ones, and cleaning the warrens they lived in so the cold wouldn't spread, she was off to get supplies. She believed in home remedies, such as bed rest and a good bowl of soup. That always worked. Well except when trying to treat a Phoenix who wasn't really sick to start with. She laughed a little to herself at that thought. "Lets see, I've got the carrots and lettuce... oh and the herbs I need grow in my garden... ah I got the alfalfa as well... I just need one more thing..." The yellow Pegasus paused and looked down the path to her destination. She needed fresh apple juice for her soup and no better place to get it than the farm. She just hoped somepony would be up as it was rather early. "Um...hello?" she called out quietly as she walked through the entrance gate. "Ah... is anypony up?... I... I can come back later if... if I have too."
  9. Redheart was at her cabinet like always. Her day yesterday was kinda busy, as many ponies came with some kind of problems - from a simple headache to the rather more serious puking after eating. At the beginning of each day, she settled down to fill out full-fledged paperwork and some quick reference cards, for her records - she needed to always be able to quickly find what ponies had visited her, and what diseases she'd worked on. When she was done, Redheart decided to make up some coffee for herself for a little rest before the probably full day. She took a seat in her chair and started drinking her coffee a bit. She was kinda worried if there would be a lot of ponies today, or if it would be another kinda-boring day when no one comes to her. Redheart kinda missed days when ponies just came to her to talk only, instead of coming with any disease or hurted hoof. She indeed, loved healing up ponies and taking care of them, but sometimes Redheart felt lonely when no one was talking with her, and only came because they had health problems. "Let's hope that today will happen atleast, I just don't want a boring day". She said to herself, and took a sip of her coffee.
  10. The black pelted, red and black haired pegasus Darkest Dawn had just arrived in Ponyville after a long trip from his previous residence in the city of Canterlot. Dawn found himself taking this trip because he had purchased an old observatory in the humble town from whatever money he could scrape together. It wasn't much to look at from the images he had seen but Dawn saw it as a golden opportunity to continue his research in astronomy. When Dawn arrived at the town square however, he found that all his eagerness had turned into nervousness as he observed this strange new town that was foreign to him. Dawn had never seen much outside of Canterlot so he didn't know exactly how to go about this, he felt slightly 'out of place'. Dawn tried to reassure himself in his head, Just relax Dawn, nothing's as bad as you usually make it out to be. Dawn thought as he tried to feel better about his current situation. The pegasus decided that before he goes to see his new home that he would try and take in the sights of the town and maybe get to know a few ponies while he was at it. Dawn looked around at the crowded town square and looked at all the colourful buildings as he contemplated what to do next, .....So then...where first? Dawn asked himself as he scratched his head in thought.
  11. (OOC: Continued from The Photo Finish - Placements) Lyra was feeling rather content now. After having time to rest and getting her pie, she was glad to simply have a place to sit and talk. Some of the other ponies had already left. Lyra couldn't blame them; It was starting to get late, and the large tent in which the buffet and dance floor had been set up was starting to get a bit stuffy. Lyra considered going outside for a breath of fresh air, but she felt nervous about simply getting up and leaving when so many ponies were still around her. She was a sort of guest of honour, she supposed. Her ears pricked up, however, at the sound of a familiar voice. "Lyra! Lyra! I just heard you won! I'm sorry I couldn't get here sooner!" came the voice of Lyra's roommate. "Bon Bon! I'm so glad you came!" she said, leaping off her stool to go and greet her best friend. "It's okay, I know you had to work late. Oh, what happened? You're all sticky!" Lyra used her hoof to gently brush some dried chocolate from a strand of Bon Bon's mane that had stuck to the side of her face. She giggled a little at her friend. "You must have really been focused today!" Lyra then eyed Bon Bon's basket. The unicorn hoped that her earth pony friend wasn't going to try and sell her sweets from work; with the free buffet and the Apple family cart, she was unlikely to get much business at this stage. "So tell me," she asked, "what you got there in the basket?"
  12. The Heartland The center of Greater Equestria, the Heartland region is a land of rolling hills, vibrant rivers, great forests, and vast lakes. Here lie the many various farms that supply much of Equestria's bounty, bustling cities where ponies learn, trade, and invent, and vast forests frequented by both naturalists and adventurers. Settlements of the Heartland Ponyville - A small, unassuming town in the middle of the Heartland surrounded by apple orchards and idyllic farms of all types, Ponyville is fairly typical of most Equestrian hamlets. It is the current residence of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony and thus has gained special attention from Princess Celestia in recent days. Trottingham - An affluent vacation town on the north shore of the easternmost Nimbusgait Lake. Many of the inhabitants of the town are seasonal, arriving during the summer months to live in their waterfront houses and enjoy fun in the sun. To the north of the city are picturesque vineyards, which only add to the upscale and touristy flavor of the place. Cloudsdale - Floating home to the Pegasi of the Heartland, Cloudsdale looms above the Nimbusgait Lakes. Here, pegasi work the Weather Factories, creating the different seasons, storms, and elements that allow the residents and greenery of Greater Equestria to flourish, and flight crews can often be spotted coming and going on a near-constant basis. Vanhoover - A resort oriented city nestled in the foothills of the Hasufel Mountains between the Everfree Forest and the Great Nimbusgait Lakes known for it's many outdoor opportunities for tourists, art scene, plentiful gardens, and general bohemian atmosphere. Major Natural Features Nimbusgait Lakes - The sparkling, pristine waters of the Nimbusgait Lakes are a prime feature of the northern reaches of Equestria’s Heartland. Trottingham is situated on lake shore property, feeding and housing the seasonal influx of tourists and athletes that come to play and train on the trails and beaches along the shores of the lakes. The Lakes supply Cloudsdale’s weather factories with water to make clouds and produce rainbows-- water that is eventually returned to the lakes by rains and runoff. Everfree Forest - Largely empty of ponyfolk, the Everfree Forest covers a massive swath of ground that is the full western third of the Heartland. The region is largely unexplored, though a few safe paths and trails are marked out. For the most part though, the Everfree Forest is home to all manner of creatures from the mundane to the mystical. Because of its sheer size, age, and legendary wildlife, nature is allowed to run its course unhindered by any form of pony magic of control. It is no surprise then that the ruins of the Moon Palace sit here, its crumbling halls now only home to the howling wind and hardy plants. The Velvet Strand - The center of the secretive and mysterious Peryton civilization, these isles are nothing short of irresistible in their tranquil beauty , and all who look upon them are awaited in feelings of contentment and joy. Everything that is built is designed to be fully integrated with the natural landscape to the point that from a distance, it looks as if there is no buildings at all. Other Geographical Features The Heartland is also home to Froggy Bottom, Equestria's largest swamp and home to its own share of legendary and strange magical creatures that lurk among the dark and misty foliage. The Hasufel Mountains, with its legendary tallest peak, Dragon Mountain, once an ancient home to many dragons, the mysterious empty caves of which, still exist. Finally the tall Allacor Mountains, which separate the Heartland from the Borderlands beyond, which only the most adventurous and daring ponies climb the remote peaks of.
  13. “Oh gods I’m late!” Diomedes scrambled madly around his apartment, half fluttering, half galloping, all bumbling, trying to find all of the things he was supposed to bring, if only he could REMEMBER where he put them! Late, late, late, late, late! Dio’s mind was flying at a million miles an hour. How could he have put this off? Why wasn’t any of his gear where he thought it was? Oh how was he going to explain this to Star Chaser? “Aha! Here we go!” He said as he grabbed two bags of trail mix and tossed them both at his open saddlebags. As he turned around to grab his canteens out of the cupboard, he heard a resounding crash as his office chair tipped over, dropping his saddlebags to the ground and spilling all of his collected gear on the floor. Dio facehoofed. “I hate… everything…” ****** As he touched down at the address he was given, Dio suppressed a nervous shiver. Perhaps he’d gone a little overboard. It was supposed to be a quick flight to the foothills near Solstice Heights followed by a hike through Whitetail Wood, but he’d already gone through the trouble of getting his mane trimmed and his flight feathers preened. His saddlebags were packed with trail mix, water, and some fresh fruit for a picnic in addition to his usual survival gear. He’d even called off work to ensure that he had time to spend with Star Chaser. Their correspondence since the gala had been sparse. Star had mentioned in her letters that the bindings had since been removed and that she was in physical therapy. In fact, when Dio had mentioned “hanging out” again, Star wrote back that her doctor encouraged it. The letters also stated that the lady Pegasus would be good to fly by the date Dio had set. Dio took a deep breath as he stepped up to the door, gently rapping on it with a hoof. “Here goes nothing…”
  14. CRASH! KABOOM! The weather team had really outdone themselves this time; it was still early evening, but the sky was already darker than Nightmare Moon's dreams, save for the ocassional flash of lightning ripping across the skies, illuminating the billowy black clouds and silhouetting everything on the ground. The rain poured down in buckets, creating small streams in the dirt, smacking the leaves in the trees and creating an awful racket. Tatatatatatatatatatata... Most of the inhabitants of the peaceful Ponyville had long since made their way indoors to avoid the torrential downpour; after all, a storm of this magnitude could hardly be stopped at this point, it would be much too dangerous to fly into a lightning storm! Still, a lone carriage made it's way into the storm-besieged town, drawn by one pony, and strangely enough being pushed by a second pony. The pony at the back was a strange sight in the peaceful town; a pegasus fillie garbed in a set of bulky, clunky iron armor, chipped and dinged, rusted in places (certainly the rainstorm did little to help this) and now caked in mud. The wheel of the carriage appeared to be cracked, and so the fillie had taken it upon herself to help the travellers safely reach the town. "We can take it from here, ma'am!" The pony drawing the carriage shouted over the downpour. "Thank you so much for your help! If there's something we can do to repay you..." "It's no problem at all, just doing my duty!" The fillie replied. "Safe travels!" With a nod, the driver took the carriage on down the road, leaving the armored stranger standing in the rain. Her name was Kite, and as she watched the carriage proceed down the road and get lost in the haze of the downpour, she wondered nervously if she'd done well; after all, it was the duty of a knight to help others, and her dream to be a knight! Standing in the rain, she certainly felt good for helping, but she didn't feel anymore knightly than before; if anything, she was just soaked. A REAL knight would have gotten them to town before the brunt of the storm had hit, after all. Looking around, the wannabe knight sought someone else to help out, though it seemed that the storm had scared the population indoors. "I wonder if maybe I could stop the storm... certainly the townsfolk would appreciate that..." She looked up at the sky, which seemed to grumble ominously in response. "Eh... maybe not..." Kite shook the idea from her mind; what she had in desire to become a knight, she certainly lacked in confidence and self esteem. The pegasus instead averted her eyes from the sky, looking for shelter; standing in the rain was helping nobody, and she was tired and sore from her journey from Canterlot. The fillie could barely see her own hoofs in the downpour though, and instead opted to grab shelter under a nearby tree, hoping to wait out the storm. From the looks of things though, it was going to be a long, stormy night!
  15. Continued from Gatecrashing! Apple Bloom had just been plotting and planning with her cohorts in the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and another pony-a unicorn named Sunrise Beach. The yellow filly with the giant bow and her friends (some old, some new) had been sneaking around Tea Cozy's cottage, none too subtly, in an attempt to sneak off the the Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot. All the foals, fillies and colts in town were staying with the mare as parents, and older siblings attended the Gala. The CMCs and a few of the other youngsters thought that with Tea Cozy's hooves SO full of foals to take care of, that she wouldn't evne notice that they were gone. When Apple Bloom looked around to make sure nobody was listening in, she looked up to discover that maybe Tea Cozy was a little more on the ball than the fillies suspected that she was. Caught in the act! "Busted.", thought the filly sadly, resignedly she turned to her unicorn friend. "Sweetiebelle, can you please pass a pair of those cardboard wings?" Apple Bloom sighed a deep sigh. Those were the breaks. But with a quick change of plans, and some time with her best friends, and this night could be salvaged and turned into something fun. "We might as well hold our own Gala HERE. I'm pretty sure that's what Sweetiebelle would want anyway", she added, nuzzling Sweetiebelle "Is that Ok with you, Sunrise?"
  16. Spitfire and Soarin' landed in front of the school house just a few minutes before they were scheduled to speak at Ponyville Elementary. It wasn't really anything special, they'd done this sort of thing numerous times. But it did always put a smile on Spitfire's face to see their little wide-eyed faces and awed expressions that THE Wonderbolts were there to visit. She was glad that it was herself and Soarin' who tended to be the representatives for the team. It meant they got to spend a little bit of extra time together. At least, until they arrived at their destination. They were still professionals, and definitely had to conduct themselves business-like way. Many of the parents came to the school to meet them as well, they knew from experience. Spitfire paused before knocking on the schoolhouse door. She turned to Soarin'. “You ready?”
  17. One day, in Ponyville, Twilight tried to get Applejack's attention. "Con Sarnit!" Applejack had just realized she forgot her engagement with Twilight Sparkle. But she had no time for it now, for she had to get back to the farm for something urgent. "I'm real sorry, Twilight. I need to hurry about somethin'. Don't worry, heh, I'll be right back" Applejack hurried herself over to Sweet Apple Acres. How could she be so forgetful? She was so worried about Granny Smith's whereabouts that she completely forgot to pull her apple cake from the oven. The cake was surely burnt. But Applejack was just hoping that that was all the trouble her day would have. She was not prepared for the moments that would soon to pass. For on this day where Applejack seemed to forget everything, the events would soon turn to unforgettable. As she ran up the hill on the south side of Ponyville where she can get a glimpse of the farm from afar, she saw a pillar of black smoke rising from the top of the barn. "Land sakes! There's a fire in the barn!" Applejack hurried towards the farm to try to savior the estate's most prominent building. "We already had to cut a big whole in our budget rebuilding the barn after those pesky parasprites ate it all. I'm not gonna lose the barn this time," she determined. She had hoped that Big Macintosh was already trying to put the fire out. But since the fire has already started, it was possible he was away on business as well. As Applejack pulled around the front of the entryway to the farm, she could see the damage already done. The barn had yet to be engulfed. But it was gonna take a strong effort to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the property. The fire was spreading from the second floor of the barn, where they had a storage area with the normal fixin's a farming family would have. Fortunately, the place where the family members sleep, the Carrot Cottage, was untouched. Map of Sweet Apple Acres: http://fc08.devianta...esh-d3ki8nj.png courtesy of Aurebesh from deviantART.
  18. Big Macintosh Name: Well, the names Big Macintosh, but reckon ya'alls can call me Big Mac. Some even use Big Red, but plain ol' 'Mac' works too! Sex: Ah'm pretty sure ah'm a Male, last ah checked! Age: Ah'd be grown 'young' Stallion, Eeeyup, an' still very much at mah best condition, too! Species: A proud earth pony - A real 'Salt of the earth' kinda pony, an' wouldn't change that for anythin'! Pelt Color: Looks to me like a nice apple red...heh, s'pose life jus' kinda has a sense of humor that way, eh? Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Ah'd hazard a guess at A kinda weird brownish blonde...Ah'm no arty pony, though, so s'hard to say. Did you just ask how Ah Style mah mane? Pfft, this is an apple farm - Ah got no time for fancy manestylin's! Ah prefer to jus' go out rough'n'ready in the mornin's, an' it works for me! ... Well, okay...Mah tail *is* trimmed regularly t'keep it outta the way of mah workin' on the farm, but that's it for me! Eye Color: Heh, whaddya know...Gala apple green! Cutie Mark: Well, it's half an apple - but that don't mean I put half-flanked effort in, let me tell ya'all now! Physique: Workin; on the farm can give a stallion quite a workout...Now ah don't like t'toot my own bugle, but Ah'm quite the stocky male - certainly don't think there's many ponies who look quite like ah do, even if that's just my say so! Origin: Well, what'm I gonna say here? Born n'raised on the apple family farm - didn't know much else beyond what the ol' folks wanted from us...sure, ah went to school an' got an edumacation there, but other than that, pop wanted me t'follow in the family ways, way even before applejack was a twinkle in an eye. Ah worked mah rump off alongside pa an' ma an' helped buck apples from the trees, tended to the other crops we plant now an' then, as well as helpin' around wi' anythin' else they wanted me to do at the time - when they finally retired to other pastures new, ah offered up to take over the general maintenance of the farm in their stead alongside Applejack...an' it's been runnin' jus' fine ever since - minus a few l'il hiccups here an' there, o'course! Ponies ask me about mah cutie mark a lot for some reason - well, Ah'll say this much about it:- Ah was brought up as an apple farmers son, on an apple farm, plain an' simple. Ah've Been buckin' apples for jus' about as long as mah hooves could be on the ground an' keep me up, so it wasn't any surprise t'see that on one day when ah was asked to buck a full day on mah own, Ah did it fast an' I did it better than anypony coulda seen comin' for a youngster mah age. Ah get back to the farmhouse, an' on mah rump it turned out that the hallmark of the apple family, an apple-centric cutie mark, had appeared. Eeeyup, it's not big or fancy as a story...but that's how it happened! S'just the tale of a pony who took up the mantle his family had born him into. Heh, Sorry if that ain't excitin' or anythin' for ssome of you ponies, but that's the way life slices the apple sometimes! Roleplay Type: Mane RP, Ah reckon! Occupation: As ah said before, mah role is the general upkeep an' workin's of Apple Acres - anythin' that Applejack doesn't normally take care of, you'll usually see mah rump taking care of. Eeyup, She's a real trooper, that one - but a mite bit stubborn at times! Motivation: Mah motivation, ah guess, is to keep th'farm runnin' right up 'til ah'm old an' grey - the ponies in ponyville buy a lot of our apples, an' it's a major source of both food for them as well as bein' our vital source of bits. As for mah own motivation...well, The thought of the farm bein' left to rot is a notion ah don't like to entertain if it can be helped, so mah personal goal is t'just do everythin' possible t'prevent that from happenin'. As for anythin' else beyond that, Hmm...Ah guess I'll jus' keep mah options open for right now... The future's still a'comin regardless either way, after all! Likes: Well, for a start Ah like books - Jus' cause mah life is on a farm doesn't mean ah don't try an' get cultured. After that, I reckon ah'm a big fan of music, alongside a good healthy dose of applebuckin'...some ponies may see it as hard work, but for me there ain't nothin' more fulfillin' than knowin' ah can buck them apples down hard an' fast! { An' perhaps ah have a bad habit of makin' bad apple-related jokes sometimes - but secretly, ah kinda like doin' it! } Dislikes: Ah don't much care for lazy ponies - it can irk mah nerve when somepony shirks their work...heck, ah've even shooed off that pegasus from Ponyville a few times - ah think her names Rainbow Crash...Oh, wait - Rainbow Dash...from atops a few trees before when she's taken a snooze up there whilst on weather duty. Also, mah sister Applejack can be a l'il hotheaded - ya'all saw what happened a while back when she tried t'take on the whole apple orchard, so ya'all know what she can get like! Bad apples, too - ah'm not fond of when bad apples ruin things...an' you can take that as figuramatively as you want! Character Summary: Ah'm a fairly Stoic Stallion, for the most part - ah let actions tend to speak the loudest for me...sometimes ah guess it's pushed too far, 'cause it was mah overworkin' that led to that whole injury (That's mah story anyway, an' ah stick to that!} Tried t'keep an eye on mah personal pacing after that, but ah jus' don't like t'be inactive for too long...bein' a workin' farm stallion, there's usually somethin' for me to be doin'. 'Course, if there's somethin' for me to say, Ah'll let it be known - ain't no point bottlin' the important things up... Overall, mah life is pretty good - ah keep an eye on Granny Smith as well as l'il apple bloom...an' with lookin' after the pair of 'em alongside Applejack, as well as lookin' after the farm, ah guess mah hooves are pretty full at times. But Ah'll always remember the phrase mah pa' told me as a young colt...an' it helps me keep mah bearings! " When life hands y'apples, make apple juice - Everythin' works out for the best in time if ya work hard at it! "
  19. "OH-MY-CELESTIA! This is going to be exciting!" Koda squealed, "This is going to be so exciting! I've never had a sleepover before. Well, I sorta did with the families my family traveled with...but that doesn't count!" Koda had spent all day decorating her little house in preparation for the guests and making yummy things to eat. "I really hope everyone shows up! I'd hate for all of this to go to waste," she said as she started placing all the dishes on the table. "ACK! It's almost time! Everyone's going to be here and I'm not ready yet!" and with that, Koda ran to her room to get ready for the night.
  20. "Homygosh! Homygosh!" Exclaimed the honey colored mare as she opened her eyes. "I slept iiiin!!" Those bright blue orbs looked out the window and there, off in the distance was the sun rising. Squealing she leaped out of bed, leaving her blankets in array along the floor. Those black hooves clopped against the wooden flooring as she ran over to her mirror and looked to the brush, then to her hair, and back to her brush. One thing about Honeycomb, was that she never cared just how her hair looked, and today was no exception. Shaking that wild mane of hair she decided not to, and took off out the door of her bedroom/home, and jumped the length of her stairs. When she landed the first thing to do was throw on all the lights. The shop lit up with a sweet golden glow. The walls where lined with shelves of jarred bubbly, thick, sticky, goo. There were display tables, topped with a fine red cloth, and there sat some with hard candy, some tables with lacquered jewelery, some with more jars. The whole place was made of dark wood, which mixed with the gold of the honey and red accents, the place was very warm and welcoming. Even with sunlight coming through the large windows. Off to the side, sat the counter, where she took orders, and a glass case of cakes, breads and fruit sat, though right now, it was just a tad bit scarce. "I need to make the fruit!" Honey said as a bee snuck into the back door of the shop and buzzed about. In the kitchen was a whole other story. It was white, clean and well organized, pots hung from the ceiling, a fridge sat happily against the wall next to the counters. The fridge was the first place she was to go, and there she pulled out strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, bananas, apples, blackberries, peaches and nectarines. Once everything was on the island, she dashed over to a cabinet and pulled out various bowls and plates, a knife followed, and then a group of her friendly bees came in with a whole new jar of fresh honey. "Oh thank you, my friends! It looks just perfect!" Honey praised as she smiled at them, letting the swarm fly about her head before darting off outside. It was a careful procedure, the right fruit had to go with the right plate, and had to be paired with the right contrast of fruit, and the right amount of pure honey had to be applied. She loved watching the sticky goo dribble over the apples, or the strawberries, it was a delicious sight to see. It took about an hour to prepare all the fruit to perfection, and then she placed them carefully in that cooled case up front, shifted the honey cakes and cupcakes about, removed the bread and put it on the back wooden shelf to sit. It went without saying, Honeycombs shop smelled just as sweet as the honey tasted, and she liked it that way. The last touches to the morning routine was to jar up new honey, mixing fruit and herb flavors into it, and restocking her shelves. It was around ten thirty that she was finally finished with everything, cleaning off the cafe tables, and adjusting the chairs, shooing off any bees that took to lounging about. "There! Now I'm open for business today!" Honeycomb exclaimed as she walked to the door and flipped the sign over from "Closed" to "Open".
  21. The following broadsheet was found posted on a storefront in the town center. Anypony looking up could see the massive airship floating overhead, swaying gently in the wind in the midst of a siderweb of thick mooring lines. The massive cargo doors were open, and a fenced platform had been lowered to the ground from the gondola. In front of this platform some tables were set up displaying a sample of the exotic wares onboard- fine Griffon metalwork, spices from far islands, bulk sacks of flour and grain and many other necessaries and trinkets. Behind these tables is a bored looking Griffon, his coat a dirty gray save for the pure white tips of his wings. Another is at work on the platform, fussing over some mechanical part. This one would be a light brown if he wasn't covered with grease, engine oil and coal dust. He's wearing goggles and a tool belt covered in wrenches and other mysterious mechanical bits.
  22. ((It'd be cool if this here thread wass the general market place involving all the store fronts and carts and stuff, not just one interaction. So if anyone has a cart or whatever, you could put them in here. If you want. Y'know. ALRIGHT THEN)) ~Carnation Split Carnation took a deep breath, shutting his eyes to to focus on the scents. The smell of the market place was always different. Today it had a more cinnamon-y aroma. It made his mouth water. He sighed, looking around at all the carts and ponies and other things placed around. The market place was pretty overwhelming at first, especially when you didn't have a plan. And not having a plan was Carnation's specialty. He smiled, thinking about which place he'd go to throw his bits at. He wanted to find where that cinnamon smell was coming from, he wasn't in the mood for an actual meal, but something sweet would hit the spot. He looked down at the white pegasus he was with. "Just speaking up if you see something you want, Lucky." He said as he advanced into the Market Place.
  23. "Three. Two. One. Touch down." Thought Issi Cloud as he slowly descended in front of Master Prickle's workshop. Master Prickle had bee patiently waiting for him at his door step, bearing the largest grin his face could bear. "Howdy! You must be Issi, my new assistant!" Prickle Woods exclaimed just as Issi touched down, "Pleasure to meet you! I'm Prickle Woods, the local wood artisan. Thank Celestia you came, we've been as busy as ever around here and could use an extra hand." Master Prickle suck out a hoof for Issi to shake. "Uh... Hi, I'm Issi Cloud. I guess you already know that....," Issi said timidly, as he slowly put out his hoof to shake Master Pickle's, "you can call me Sigg if you want...". Issi was obviously intimidated by Prickle Woods's excitement and affable welcome. "You must be tired, let me take you bags," Prickle said as he made a gesture to Issi's bags, "let me go a head and take those inside for you." "No, it's fine. I've got them." "Nonsense, let me take them. I can set up your room while I'm at it." Issi had almost forgotten, his house wasn't ready yet and his stuff was still on its way in form Cloudsdale. He was going to have to stay with Master Prickle for a few days, a week at most. "Are you sure? I mean, I can help," Issi asked as Master Prickle began to take his bags. "Oh sure, it's perfectly fine. Why don't you go take a walk and get acquainted with the town? Go introduce yourself to a couple of ponies." "Are you sure? It sounds like you have a lot of work to do. You really don't want my help?" "I am sure. Look there is a group of ponies over there," Master pickle gestured across the alley to a group of colts and ponies, "they're new themselves. Why don't you go introduce yourself?" "Oh, I'm not sure if that is a good idea. I mean I'm new here, and I have a lot of work, and...," Issi's excuses began to ramble on into a inaudible mutter. "Nonsense, go introduce yourself right now!" Master prickle said kindly as he put Issi's bags down and slowly pushed the unwilling pegasus to the group, Issi dragging his hooves leaving a streak in the dirt underneath him. "Well here you are, have fun and good luck!" Master prickle said as he left Issi several feet away from the group, then quickly trotting off and leaving him to deal with the group. "BY THE WAY, WELCOME TO TOWN!" Prickle said as he galloped to his house. Issi turned around in disbelief, staring at Master Prickle as he galloped away. Was he really going to just leave him there, in front of a group of ponies that he didn't even slightly know? It was too late for him to do anything now, he was already there. "I might as well try to make some friends while I'm out here...," Issi thought to himself after realizing his only other option was to lie to Master Prickle. Lying was simply not Issi's style. By the time Issi looked back to where the group was they had dispersed, leaving one pony behind. "Well they we're fast...," Issi commented to himself. He was just buying some time before he actually had to walk up and introduce himself to the pony. Issi wasn't too keen at introduction, mostly because how shy he was. Issi slowly made his way over the pony, half reluctantly and half eager. This might be the first friend he would make in Ponyville..... Hopefully. "Um, hello... I hope I'm not interrupting, but I'm Issi Cloud. I just moved into Ponyville and thought I should introduce myself and get acquainted with the town." The timid tone in Issi's voice echoed like a bell as he spoke his sentence.
  24. Everypony knew of the house at the edge of town, the one nopony dared to enter. Rumors had surrounded it for years. It was haunted. Of course the stories were all different. The land was cursed, there was a horrible magic accident there, spirits from Everfree Forest possessed it... whatever the case the outcomes were always unpleasant. Needless to say nopony lived there. It had been empty for many many years, even the 'for sale' sign was from a house seller that didn't even exist anymore. Or it use to be. One morning, just before dawn, the sign was gone. A couple moving trucks had pulled up, dropped off all their goods and quickly moved off again. Even with the promise of pay, they didn't want to stick around long. So much of the furniture had been left out on the overgrown front lawn. Though slowly, item by item, box by box, things vanished. Somepony apparently moved them, but hadn't been seen doing so. Then again it was so early, nopony was probably up yet. By the time the sun rose for the morning, the once empty home now had a dweller. The currents that had been closed tightly behind the cracked windows had been tied back to let some light in. It gave a small glimpse inside, but all there was to see was moving boxes. And some furnature that must have been left there from the last own, all covered with seats, and years upon years old. Who would move into such a place? Didn't they know it was haunted? Surely the mayor or whoever actually sold the home would have said. Yet all the same somepony was there. A shadow of a Unicorn passed by one of the front windows then faded into the darkness again. The old windows were so dusty making out anything other than a silhouette was impossible. So it was rather ghostly to just see the image move by then vanish. Perhaps nopony had really bought it after all... maybe the house actually had a ghostly resident that finally was making itself seen. Either way, the once activity free house, suddenly wasn't anymore.
  25. The sun was shining high as Dubstep left from FIllydelphia, "OK you've got your map right?" an older pony asked him checking the pack on his back, "Yeah dad, I got the map, it's right..." Dub said as he began to fiddle with the pack, "Uhmm right...Ah, here it is!" he said reaching into a pocket on the side, "I swear, you'd lose your head if it wasn't attached son heheh." his dad laughed slipping an extra map into another pocket, "Now I've wrote down the path for you, there's signs along the path too, promise me you won't take any of your 'Shortcuts'? Dub's father said giving him a hug, "Yeah dad, I promise. I mean, c'mon, Ponyville's not THAT far away." he smiled hugging his dad back, "Let mom know I promise to write when I can!" Dubstep hollered to his father as he left the gates of Fillydelphia. A few hours passed and Dubstep arrived at a crossroad, "Ooook, lets see here." he said to himself pulling his map out, the map was rather new and a neatly drawn highlighted path ran from Fillydelphia to Ponyville, "Hmm, map says to take a small detour around The Everfree Forest....Maybe if I cut threw I could make it there before noon!" he said to him self before thinking, "Oh...Or get eaten alive by some kinda giant critter lurkin in there." Dub pondered, "Hmm, I don't think I'll chance it, much as I love the thought of being a hydra or a manticore's snack, I'm gonna take the safer route heh" he laughed to him self placing the map back into his pack, the wind blowing through the fields and the trees made a beautiful melody, the sounds of varying animals added to the chorus of nature, the rushing of the streams was almost like the conductor, "Ahh, I think I'm gonna like Ponyville!" Dub sighed happily, putting his headphones on to listen to some music. A little while later, Dub finally made it to a hill just outside of Ponyville, "Sweet and still plenty of daylight left too, though if I took that shortcut I coulda been here hours ago." he said sitting down to take a rest, "Oh my aching hooves, haven't walked this much since I was in school." he groaned thinking about his old gym class, sitting down on the soft grass of the hill, Dubstep gazed over the town, so many opportunity to meet new friends and make new music, Dub smiled as a cool breeze swept across the hill, 'Mmm, I suppose a little rest won't hurt.' he thought to himself, taking his backpack off and placing it beside him, kicking back Dubstep began staring up at the sky, watching what little clouds there were and the occasional Pegasus float by overhead.
