From the album: My original art.
Don't look at my bad clouds. ._. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to work on the pony version of me and decided it was an opportunity to try some new stuff out. I like it for the most part.© Art is mine.

From the album: Cast
I spent the evening tweaking my style a little. Trying out new ears and adding cheeks to forward perspective (okay so it’s more like 4/5 leave me alone!). Also trying a new way to do 1/2 perspective rather than drawing a circle, adding the nose and swooping down to form the jaw; drawing a circle, carving the nose inwards and collapsing the forhead. Featuring Rainbow Dash, Derpy, and Lyra. That uh… thing in the corner is sort of a measurement base I made for fun, the red circle is what I based the initial head circles on. Anyone’s free to take that line thing and practice on it. Black is for body and ears, blue is hair, green is accessory (horn/wings), and yellow is eye. -

Frustrated scribbles are frustrating. I wanted to draw how I think Sweetie will look in her later years. I hit a major block at her head and just couldn't get any eyes to work for her. I originally wanted a 3/4th view of her face, but she flat out refused. That's when I realized I've been totally inconsistent with my eyes, and they've been the weakest part of my work recently. My so far best piece (in my opinion) looked good because her eyes were CLOSED. Just when I start to get the body down, some other body part decides to throw a wrench. All part of the learning process I guess. Maybe I should go stalk Solar-Slash. His pony stuff is like, 80% big soft eyes. I went with the one that's closest to the show for this one, but I dunno... I'm still trying to find my own style. Something people can look at and say "Oh yeah, Kryptchild drew that!" the first time they see it. My head is probably too far in the clouds right now, but part of why I look up to artists like Joey-Darkmeat, John Joseco, Speccy, Madmax, Jitterbug, Solar, Will, Slugbox, UC77, and Egophiliac is they're not just recognizable names, but the have recognizable art styles. They own how they create, they're consistent... and it's my goal to graze my fingers across the bottom of the clouds they sit comfortably atop. I really like her mane. -

okay... so I tried using the pen tool in my making of ponies in Photoshop, and I think it actually turned out really well! I decided to make a couple of different bodies, even though all of them are pretty similar, just to experiment. I then decided to number them and ask which ones were your favorite, because I knew a bunch of ponies on here would probably have really good insight and advice. Personally, I like 5 and 6 the best. 6 is more of a stallions body, and 5 is neutral... but anyways, please tell me which ones you think came out best! Any advice would be appreciated!© AsthmaticPegasus

This thread is for artists to help each other work out the various kinks they come across with their art. Be it coloring, shape, or shading. I'll start with my current problem and hope I can get some help/advice. I've been having trouble with art continuity lately. The thing that's been vexing my artistic consistency is how I draw mares faces. Or more specifically the nose/mouth part. I threw this together because I need some help, which face style should I focus on for my current style? I left #six blank to serve as both a control and a base if anyone wants to try this out for themselves. Also, if you know a better method for drawing a mares face, feel free to use #6 to show me! I'm banging my head against a wall about this.

From the album: Pharm Party
Back legs have been giving me some serious trouble lately.,,, Why must something so simple be so complicated?!?!?! GAAAAAAHHH! I've got like, four tutorial images on back legs alone, and I still mess them up! I mean just LOOK at those! Pharm would strangle me for drawing him with those misshapen thighs... I'm going to bed. -
The city in the sky was always busy, people were always going and coming... and while it was not unexpected to see some silly pegasus foal flying around doing stunts, it was rarely welcome... When a fully-gown stallion was zipping around, nearly colliding with other ponies right and left, and laughing about it... of course at the same time, Streak had been doing this since he was old enough to fly, so it also had become a fairly normal occurrence. The residents had hoped that his new career would keep him away from the city... they were wrong... Streak zipped forward and made a mid-flight 'hop' over a cart, startling the driver who though the foolish flying pony was about to crash into it, but then he saw who it was and he just rolled his eyes. they had all give up getting angry about streak long ago... The pegasus did a reverse-corkscrew going upwards along a tower and zipping off, flying over the rainbow pools, leaving tiny ripples going all through the colors, making lovely swirls in places before the settled back down. The pegasus finally came to rest atop the dome of the weather-center, surveying the land of clouds. He loved to travel, but it was always great to be home.
