1. Granola Gracie walked up to the farmhouse of Sweet Apple Acres. The sun had just set and the remaining ambient skylight was reflecting off the wet garbage along the orchard path from the week's long cider festivities. It had been a couple days since the cider rush had died down, but Granola figured the apples were prioritizing inventory before they clean up the farm. Applejack always ran a tight orchard. She visited the farm this evening in order to finally pitch to her tree-loving neighbor a new apple seed. Granola was a botanist. She loved caring for plants and flowers but also enjoyed investigating new species of fauna and even resurrecting lost plants from the ages. Recently she happened upon a discovery that would lead her down the path of possibly inventing a new species of apple. And she couldn't think of another pony that would be more helpful on this task. The brown earth pony gallantly and with a smile, knocked on the door to the farmhouse. Hopefully, Applejack was not too tired to meet with her.
2. The rooster crows at the first light. As the sun peeks over the horizon, settled fog is exposed in the valleys of the apple orchard giving it the nonverbal command to quickly disperse. Conditions were perfect. It was a relatively beautiful day with a chilly breeze to remind all living creatures of the coming holiday seasons, the first of which was to be a Ponyville tradition known by ponies far and wide. It was cider season at Sweet Apple Acres! Along the road back to Ponyville from the farm were rows and rows of tents where ponies camped last night in an attempt to try and beat the crowds. The famous cider had created an insane demand for its taste, but the Apple family way of doing things would only yield so much cider for so many ponies to drink. Applejack would always assure everypony that there would be enough cider for all as long as ponies were willing to not take shortcuts and wait for the process of making the best cider in Equestria. And even though she would always be faced with criticism of short supply, she would be right all along and in time everyone would eventually go home happy and Applejack would be able to take a few barrels of cider for her family and herself for the next few weeks. The season wouldn't officially start for another hour or so, but even so several ponies were getting restless in their cooperative lines waiting behind the great cider counter set up at where the farm paths meet the road. The counter was adorned with all the spigots and tools needed to uncork new barrels and squeeze the apple nectar into wooden tankards, which were clean ready for their first pour. Applejack allowed ponies to bring their own vessels for the cider, but if not, she had a rotation of clean mugs ready for every customer that needed them. The sign above told everything everycreature probably already knew. 'Two bits for a cup, limit one per pony per day.' "Apple Bloom, could you bring over that spare pump, I think this one might quit on us at some point." Applejack yelled lovingly to her little sister as the orange mare looked over her counter for problems to minimize. To Applejack this was like any other day, it just had the higher volume of customers and slightly more tourism. Ever since the debacle from Flim and Flam trying to put the farm out of business, a healthy coating of sympathy and appreciation covered the cider season operation, with some ponies offering their help on the back end to make more cider and clean equipment involved in the process. Of course, Applejack was more than willing to pay a fair wage to the ones who earned it. She stepped out onto the road and looked down it, seeing the long line of ponies getting excited for their cider breakfast. The low sun reflected off the luster of the Ponyville road. "Howdy! How ya'll doing this morning? You guys ready for cider season to start?" Cider season wouldn't start for several minutes, but it was still nice to have a little moment to make small talk with the colorful ponies of Ponyville to help them manage their expectations and to gauge how impatient the crowd might become this year.
3. Applejack walked into the dining room, where Granny Smith and her little sis Apple Bloom were waiting for her. Applejack had called a meeting. "Alright y'all. Here's the problem. We got a heapin' pile of extra apples sitting in the barn and they are all surplus apples from last week that didn't sell. That big party Pinkie threw for Twilight at Sugarcube Corner in celebration of Twilight's second year living in Ponyville filled so many ponies with cakes and cookies that they musta notta needed to buy their usual amount of Sweet Apple Acres apples. And it resulted in us having all these apples that wont sell and will spoil soon if we don't get them moved on outta here." Applejack was frustrated. She hated it when the farm's business hit bumps in the road. It was a lot of hard physical labor just to get the farm running at productive levels of profit, even harder when sales figures became affected by the weather, theft, wild animals, and pinkie's parties. Applejack slammed her hoof on the table. "So what are we gonna do? We gotta get these apples sellin' without just givin' them away fer free. Any ideas?" Applejack paused and looked at her grandmother and sister, both of them pretty quiet and reserved, at least for ten seconds. "Anything?"
4. It had almost been a year, already. Zap was growing up so fast. It wouldn't be too long before his upbringing becomes the responsibility of other ponies living in Ponyville. In the time he has lived in the world he has learned to walk and begin talking. He even had short episodes in which he could fly before his bone mass kept him from hovering indefinitely. When harvest time came, he learned what apples trees look like and how big they are. He has learned that rosebush thorns cause pain when touched, but he has also learned how soft and warm Granny's quilt can be. He barely remembered what it was like when there was snow still on the ground until the white stuff returned, but he is well acquainted with the discomfort from being outside for too long when it is really hot. Seasons for Zap Apple were not a rhythm. To him they were just things that happened with no understanding of the concept. He remembers a strange evening called Nightmare Night, what a fun adventure that was, but he was not aware it will come again. He has experienced everything a year can offer, but he has only experienced them once. And he could not be more entertained. He was busy playing with his toys in the living room at Sweet Apple Acres. He could hear commotion going on in the kitchen, hearing his mother's voice, and Nan-nan's voice too. Big Mac was probably outside doing work, he could think, and Apple Bloom wasn't usually around until later in the day, because of something called school, but her voice could be heard anyway. It seemed like a special day, but he was not sure why. And before he could think about it further, he just had a great idea on how he can further play with his toys. For the past few days he had been trying to beat his record for how high he could stack blocks. His toy blocks, which had symbols written on them, some letters some animals, were mostly useful for stacking. A practical use need not be necessary, Zap had fun trying to stack them as high as he could. In previous attempts he had stood on chairs to place blocks higher. Another time, he stood atop Uncle Big Mac in order to reach the top of his towers of wooden blocks. This time he would try even higher, towards the height of the ceiling. He starting stacking the blocks one by one, humming a song his mother taught him while doing it.
5. "Goo!" Zap Apple uttered towards the orange caretaker. "Gu!" He had a thought. It was a thought of joy, unsubscribed by anypony who could decipher pony baby language. It was a feeling of content. Zap had no other means to express himself. Getting the attention of those around him, and smile and making noises, was all he knew to put his stamp on this existence of life. Should he not need the attention of these much bigger ponies, he might not make a noise. Zap grew to this point about a month old. He could easily trot his little legs across the floor, provided his diaper wasn't giving him an uncomfortable rash. At this moment, however, he was sitting in a highchair in the barn house kitchen, awaiting aerial food commands from his mother. Zap hadn't showed much of a mischievous personality. Perhaps he hadn't had a chance to show just how curious he could be. To his comfort, Zap's chair had no buckle, no restraint, no harness. As the feeder turned away for a moment, Zap was able to slip underneath the highchair table, and on to the wooden floor of the barn. He then scurried to the other room, a room he had explored before, but never without the supervision of those much taller than him.

7. Oh Java loved the outcome of this little bet that he and the prince had in the past. He had actually expected the prince to not even show up to the train station back in Canterlot. But something drove him to it anyways. And much to his disbelief there he saw the high and mighty prince. Through the entire trip, Java had been giggling madly to himself. He hadn’t thought he’d live to see the day when the mighty Prince Blueblood was brought down to the “boondocks” of equestrian lands for menial labor. Sure the stallion may have lost two of the bets before finally the last one. But in all honesty. The first one wasn’t too bad. The stallion had always meant to re-establish connections with his noble family. It’s just the life of high-society normally drove him away. However, the second bet he loss, was more of a kick in the teeth. To be forced to have a high society party, was something that invoked a seething rage in the stallion. But still, neither one of those would prevent him from enjoying this moment now. The stallion did his best to try and speak to the young prince. Originally intending all the nicest of intentions. But the prince seems to be rejecting any attempts of contact for the ride. So, he simply reduced himself to making the slightest of cracks. His timing for each one intentionally being as precise as possible. Just to gently remind him that he would be working in the heat, the grit, and in the open for a full twelve hours. Just as soon as he forgets that fact. And when the two had departed the train station. Java allowed the peace to stay. Leaving silence unbroken as he and the prince slowly strolled on to legendary farm of Ponyvile. There were plenty of other farms, and much harder working ones than this one. But, Java isn’t to cruel of a pony. The stallion actually labels the Royal Pain just slightly under the term of friend. Even if the other doesn’t generally see it, or wants it for that matter. Java had actually grown a fondness for the prince, and does care enough for his reputation and dignity, and perhaps a lower chance of injury for being out of shape. If that was even possible. So what better way for the Prince to keep his reputation than working on one of the mostly highly regarded farms? Not to mention, with nightmare night being just around the corner, this would likely be seen as the prince simply making an appearance, and supporting his community. Plus, he would be able to keep his dignity by not being worked completely to the bone and to the point of tears at a colorless rock farm? Java finally broke the silence when the two arrived at their destination. He looked to the prince with a grin. The stallion was a little curious if the Prince had thought more about why he was here with him. His tone was a lilting mock. A playful mock. Not intent on any malice, but simply to tease the other. “Oh come on grumpy. Look at the bright side! You’d be able to get one heck of a workout, loose a bit of weight, and get some fresh air away from those perfumes~." Java paused as he lifted his head up to inhale deeply. The fresh air of the country side quickly filled his nostrils, and caused the stallion to shudder with a small hint of delight. He always enjoyed the smell away from cities. Clean air. Much more floral. It kind of reminded him of the days he'd go to Dodge Station for a family reunion. Though without the flowery smell. It was dusty, had quite a large amount of work when he decided to help around the ranches, and tended to get a bit rough during dinner time, but it was one of his happier times when he was a foal. Yep! Nothing like the smell of grit.”
8. https://soundcloud.com/l8knight/sound-effect-wolf-howl It had came to pass. The first sign of the zap apples, timberwolves howling through the woods, combined with Granny's obligatory banging of pots and pans. Applejack never understood how she was able to jump out of bed before anypony else, but what was important was the events to follow. For the next five days, the apple family would work hard to gather ingredients and harvesting tools to get ready for the mad dash that was the fifth day of the zap apple harvest. They would zap away, quite literally, if they had not been picked before the end of the fifth day. The family was never able to pick all of the trees in one day, even with a little extra help. But then never needed that many apples either. As great as zap apples were, they always had plenty to go around, and store in their cellar through the future seasons. Even if they wanted to harvest all the apples, it would be hard to find that many friendly bees and empty glass jars that could survive Granny's boot camp to be able to properly make the jam. Zap apple jam had been such a great thing in Equestria, one of the finest things to come out of Ponyville. And not only is it heard about around the world, its established Ponyville in the question, and brought business to the central zones of Equestria that at one time was barren and uncivilized next to the Everfree forest that taunted it for centuries prior. This neck of the woods would never be the same since. Applejack got to thinking on the morning after the first sign. The dangers of the timberwolves sang a song of joy and excitement, as their cries signaled the beginning of the newest edition of zap apple harvesting. Everypony in town would be excited. But was that enough? At her desk, Applejack started composing letters to send out to her relatives. Many of them had tasted zap apple jam before, but some of them haven't. And even fewer have ever had the pleasure of tasting it within those distant relatives' townships. Applejack wanted to share this glorious product with the world. It would only be a few extra hundred jars, but it should be easy enough to complete, and shouldn't cut into Filthy's profits of his obligatory one hundred first jars. So she sat down at started writing letters. Applejack sealed the letters. She would send one each to Appleloosa, Manehatten, Fillydelphia, Cloudsdale, Canterlot, and Solstice Heights. As she gave them to the blond mailmare who made her daily visit to the farm, Applejack grew happy to know that she was about to share this with more ponies, and it would prove to be the most successful zap apple harvest ever! It was the second day, and Applejack could smell the crispness in the air, and those broad yet pointed leaves showed up. Eyup, it was the second sign, right on schedule. Applejack had just finished setting up most of the baskets under the trees, and maintaining the proper water supply for the trees, but also the jam. A cartful of watering containers were set near the barn for Granny's normal singing to the water. But then, a mailmare. Applejack receive five letters at the same time. Fantastic! She ripped open the first one with excitement. Dear Applejack, I'm delighted to hear of this season's crop coming at such a fine time. I have spoken with my parents and, as importantly, the administrators of my academy and have decided to purchase five cases of zap apple jam! Not only will the Oranges taste the deliciousness, but I'm hoping many of my friends- and even enemies- at school as well. With great admiration and respect, Valen Orange Five cases? Twenty-four jars to a case, that's 120 jars! Well, no big deal. Little guy probably just wants to share it with his new fancy friends. Not mention Babs probably wants a taste. Applejack opened the next letter.Greetings cuzin’ Applejack all the way from AAAAAAAPLELOOSA! That’s great news hearing about y’all having ‘nother annual Zap Apple harvest cuzin’ Applejack. Ya know, the fine folks here in AAAAAAAPLELOOSA were talkin’ about the last harvest and the few jars that made it out here during our fine town’s first year and how wonderful they were. Well now that good ol’ AAAAAAAPLELOOSA has grown like a tumbleweed, it sure be a great idea to take you up on yer offer and directly order some of that wonderfully splendid Zap Apple jam! Thinking on it, ah believe that no less than four hundred jars would be sufficient for our town fer the year, especially since w’all expect more growth in the comin’ days, especially with the new railroad and all. Don’t you fret none about that being too many cuz’, ah guarantee each one will sell here in AAAAAAAPLELOOSA! There is nothin’ like Zap Apple jam! Say hi to cusin’ Big Mac and Applebloom, as well as to our granny for me. Lil’ Apple Pie says hi to you all! Braeburn, proprietor of Buffalo Run Apple Orchard. P.S. We’ll send y’all some of our prized honey glazed apple pies! Applejack chuckled at the idea of her cousin Braeburn's way of spelling Appleloosa. It sure was mandatory for him to go that far. But, heavens to Betsy, 400 jars? Applejack swallowed nervously, the gulp resonating with her heart beat which began to pace faster and faster. She opened the next letter.Dearest cousin Applejack, While 'Ah'm flattered beyond all belief that ya'll there at Sweet Apple Acres want to share the Zap Apple Jam with me and mah kin we would need at least four hundred jars of it if'n you planned for us to sell it and be productive. 'Ah know mah sister will want some to be able to sell as well as saving some for us here at the house. 'Ah have already asked around and while 'Ah'm sorry for my late response we will in fact be needing a huge order or about four hundred jars. The renowned tale of its taste sure lured its way into mah town down here and sparked what seemed to be a buying frenzy. Thanks so much Cuz, Lovingly, Apple Bumpkin. Another 400!? This was getting out of hoof. How in the world was Applejack going to honor all of these orders? She opened another one.You wont believe how many ponies in Cloudsdale want some of our family's zap apple jam! I originally only told my co-workers over at the weather factory, but word spread all over the place. I think we'll need about 450 jars just to satisfy everypony here. Good thing you've got that zap surplus, huh? Please let me know ASAP how long it'll take to prepare the order to Cloudsdale. Your Cousin, Sugar Apple Even Cloudsdale was getting in on this! "Consarn-" Applejack cussed out loud before stopping herself from finishing it. Instead of lamenting verbally, she just ripped open the next letter. My dearest cousin AppleJack ! I would love to place an order for 450 jars of your famous Zap Apple Jam! It is a huge hit at my bakery and I am sure my customers will pay out the nose for it! The Apple Family will make a nice profit from my end to be sure! Your dear Cousin Pink Lady Applejack facehooved. What was she gonna do!? Why were all these ponies under the impression that she had this surplus of zap apple jam just lying around with no one to eat it. Well, probably because she had made it read like that in her letter. Probably should have reworded that. One more letter. Applejack cringed.Dear Applejack, I have spoken to the headmistress of Princess Celestia's School, and she has agreed to my proposal to have the school purchase 150 jars of zap apple jam. Due to the magical properties inherent with zap apples, it is deemed that the jam made from the fruit will have incredible value as a potion ingredient. I'm sure the student body will appreciate the opportunity to learn all the alchemical uses of zap apple jam. I am sure that 150 jars will be enough to cover the school's needs for up to a year. I would be most grateful if they can all be delivered on schedule. In the meantime, give my warm regards to Big Macintosh, Grandmother Smith, and little Apple Bloom. I hope everything remains well at Sweet Apple Acres. Yours truly, Auntie Marie Ok. 150. Not bad. At least some pony in this family understood moderation. Wait, what's this?...P.S.: My nephew and nieces around the city wanted me to ask you if you could ship 500 jars to them. They're confident that they'll sell well in Canterlot. Applejack threw all six letters in the air, let them fall, and she fell down in frustration. This was a nightmare. She wanted to cancel all of these orders. But how could she? She invited people to take orders, and thats exactly what they did. There was no doubt they had plenty of trees to cover the costs. But could she have enough ponies to pick apples on day five? She had to tell Granny right away.
9. Valen had grown by leaps and bounds in the short time that he had been interned at Sweet Apple Acres. Taken under the caring hooves of his relatives for a short spell, the physicality and emotional intensity that he experienced on a daily basis in this rustic envirtonment had taken it's pleasurable toll. He hadn't buffed up or become an expert in the workings of the farm, but he had lost some of his rounded corners and the chickens no longer chased him around. Well, that was a lie. They did and the Apples still thought he was playing and having fun: if nothing else, they were a positive bunch. Perhaps a bit mental but certain mental illnesses were probably good to have when you lived in such a small town. Or maybe he was the one with an illness if he couldn't trust as easy or openly as they. He had grown. But that didn't mean he was in control. Quite the opposite, in fact. Valen had felt control slip swiftly at first and ever since it had vanished slowly and agonizingly away. Back home he was used to being in control; he knew how the city operated and how he could in turn operate on it to produce the greatest of results. But here he was a fish out of water and this fish needed a distraction that could rip his attention from the lack of control around him. And few things could distract Valen so well as a wonderful dress, and fewer numbers of ponies could claim to live up to his standards. As fate would have it, the famous Rarity lived in Ponyville and through some good fortune he had made a good order. A few days had passed and he had returned and though she had made a simple mistake on his order(one that was to be corrected that very night, which was but an hour ago), that had oddly become a secondary concern. He didn't know how or why, but Sweetie Belle had been completely insistent that he was to ask her out to a fancy dance party. He had only briefly seen the filly before and hadn't spoken to her before, which put him at a sizable disadvantage in the discussion. He had eventually asked her out to a fancy dance party, which pleased her greatly. He had always tried to make other ponies happy and indeed should have chocked that up to a success. Plus, hey, she was a cutie. There were only a few nagging problems, the least of which was that he had no idea what fancy party she was speaking about. He had asked her out to a party that, as much as he was concerned, didn't exist. He had regretted his decision soon afterwards but he doubted that anypony had the intestinal fortitude to say no to her. So, after he had arrived back at Sweet Apple Acres and put away his suit and dress(ably snuck by the Apples, he believed) and had dinner, he sat on the porch and considered his options. They were slim; they were none, honestly. The time frame was too short as Sweetie was expecting a party tomorrow. Saturday. Thankfully, the most carefree day for the Apple family. Why- -Valen stood up on the porch and gasped. A solution! He shot back through the house which was by now growing a bit dark as the family went through their final nightly games and rituals before turning in. No Applejack in the main room. No Applejack in the kitchen. Valen ran up the stairs and found her door and at a full gallop- -knock knock knock, three light and polite knocks. "Applejack, may I enter?"
10. source "Thanks for foalsittin' Apple Bloom for us, Carrot. You're a true friend, you know that?" Applejack walked up to the barn, which was already being darkened by the lack of sunlight. Celestia's sun was setting and a musical orchestra of nighttime crickets could be heard chirping their individual songs. "Especially on such short notice, too. I don't think there is anypony else that would be willing to help us out like this. I owe ya one." Applejack nudged Carrot Fields with a front hoof, displaying her affection to a true neighbor. Applejack counted herself lucky. She knew that any pony with apple blood on the farm would be willing to do anything at anytime, but once you left the Sweet Apple Acre gates, it became increasingly difficult to convince someone to help watch Apple Bloom. She couldn't ask her friends. She knew that Twilight was out of town visiting the Princess. Fluttershy couldn't do it, because the yellow pegasus had said something about taking care of a sick homesick seal earlier in the day. Pinkie Pie would be a disaster, Applejack thought, even though the Cakes trusted her with their twins. Rainbow Dash was also too risky, as the rainbow-maned friend couldn't do anything without being extreme about it. And there was no point in bothering Rarity, as Applejack figured she was probably busy with dress-making, and that because it was already getting late, she was probably already down getting her beauty sleep. Applejack had to ask Carrot. But she did trust him very much, more than most ponies she knew. It gave Applejack a headache thinking about what she was going to do. She had gotten a telegram today from Baltimare that was a little emotional. It described in colorful language the displeasure of not receiving a shipment of apples that they had ordered, and that if they didn't have the apples they ordered by morning, that they would cancel their contract of seventeen bushels of apples a week. This loss would be a huge blow to even the most profitable of orchards, and Applejack was taking it more personal than it was financial. She could not lose a sale, not for the sake of the profit, but more importantly, not for the sake of losing good reputation on their service and relationships. However, the local mail service office said that because it was after the delivery trucks had already taken flight to their destination for the day, there was a 20% chance that it would get to Baltimare on time, that is of course, assuming it passed the 20% of arriving there at all. Applejack couldn't take those odds. And because there were so many apples, she would need help to deliver them by hoof. Big Macintosh was ready to go as soon as Applejack was. Between the two of them, they should be able to arrive at Baltimare on time and save a sales contract from being broken. Easy as pie. The real problem though, was that Granny Smith was out of town visiting her brother Apple Strudel in Germaney, and there was no one else at the farm to watch Apple Bloom. Sure, Apple Bloom could watch herself, she was a very independent pony for being so young. However, being grounded seemed to change the ability for a foal to watch herself. Maybe if Apple Bloom hadn't decided to try and get her cutie mark in archery and shoot flaming arrows straight at one of the storage sheds, she might have had the whole farm to herself for a day. But even a loving sister can balance easily the discipline of her younger sibling with the importance of business. And Carrot was the hero who got to carry on this unpopular tradition for the night. Applejack swung open the door to the residence side of the barn, welcoming Carrot into their home. "Come on in Carrot. You've never been here before, have ya?" Applejack decided to give Carrot a quick tour. "This room is our living area place, to the left is a larger area, where we usually talk serious farm business, heh heh." Applejack chuckled as she nudged Carrot. "Straight ahead is the stairs that leads to all of our bedrooms, and to the right is the kitchen. If you get hungry, help yourself to anything in there that you can find. Please, make yourself at home!" Applejack took Carrot's saddle bag off, and set it on a nearby table. She then motioned Carrot to follow her upstairs. "This room on the right is my bed room, straight ahead is Granny's room and big brother's room, and to the left here is Abby's room." Applejack opened the door to reveal Apple Bloom lying on her bed, bored out of her mind. "Don't worry about Abby, Carrot, she's had a few sour apples today." Applejack cleared her throat and looked at her sister. "Apple Bloom, Carrot is going to be watching you tonight through tomorrow morning. I want you on your best behavior, ok Mis- What?" Downstairs, Macintosh was yelling to Applejack about hurrying up. "I'm comin' Big Mac!" Applejack looked back at Apple Bloom with angled eyes. "If Carrot tells us you've been a bad pony, you can say goodbye to that toy stable set you said you always wanted to have for Hearth's Warming." Applejack dropped her expression for the sake of Carrot as she turned back to him. "Thank you so much for doin' this. Do you have any quest-" Big Mac belted again. "Oh, horseapples, I gotta go, Carrot. Thank you so much!" Applejack ran downstairs to meet up with her brother. "Ok, big brother, lets do this. We got everything? Ok. Let's go!" Applejack walked with her big brother outside and locked the door. They fastened themselves with gear to the carts with apples to be pulled away to their destination. They would walk on foot to the train station where they would load their delivery up and take the midnight train towards Baltimare. Hopefully, they got to Baltimare before the sun rose.

She thought it was a good idea. Applejack trotted out of the barn and she pulled out with her a large wagon. She had gotten some suggestions about what sort of activity she could unveil for this year's Nightmare Night festivities. She wanted to lure as many ponies as possible in order to better entertain her guests. And she agreed with her friends that the most important thing the party was needing was a nice relaxing hayride around Ponyville.Tonight, Applejack was wearing sticks, all around her legs, wrapped around her mane and ears, and even placed carefully in her teeth. These sticks together was her costume for the event. She was a timberwolf. After being criticized that Applejack's original plan to be an apple wasn't scary enough according to her friends, she decided to change. That, and someone else she knew was already dressed as an apple. Applejack arrived near Ponyville's center with her well-stacked hay wagon and shouted out to all the ponies around. "Hey you all! Come get a free relaxin' ride around Ponyville! And to all the ponies who ride all the way back to the Sweet Apple Acres barn house, there is a sweet surprise waiting for you!"

That big day where Ponyville doubled it's pony volume. Today, ponies would be filing in off the train station, trains coming from all corners of Equestria. Today was the annual Apple Family Reunion. Applejack was always flattered that her distant relatives had always agreed to come to Ponyville for the reunion. Besides it being one of the biggest landmarks in all of Equestria, it had made its name well known to anyone who loves apples. Sweet Apple Acres was also conveniently located as a central meeting place--a visit to Ponyville was never too much of a trek for most anypony. The spacious orchard grounds that fell in the apple barn's shadow was all set up with picnic tables, several paralleled pits of horseshoe tossing, and barrels of apple cider. Some of the community tables in the lot were empty to make room for any special apple recipes relatives decided to bring. There was sure to be enough food for everypony. In fact, Applejack and the rest of the family had always counted on non-family members to join the fun. Applejack sat at rest under a tree in the shade next to the entrance to the farm. All of the family should arrive any minute!
13. Being a member of the greatest family in the history of Equestria and beyond had many responsibilities and rewards associated with it. First, you had to work your flank off, and the Apple family didn't work in any office building or in some froo-froo business. They were orchard folk, farm folk born and raised. Beyond the physical labor, being an Apple meant you were part of a tight-knit unit. Apples were never as open and honest as they were with each other, never as friendly, angry, sad, happy as they were around others. It was a fact of life for most of the others that they were honest and consistently dependable in matters of the heart around each other, frankness and honesty valued above whitewashing and gentle feelings. To Apple Bloom, she chalked it up to another responsibility, and one she had some difficulty adhering to at times. But that was just the start of her responsibilities. There was a mighty large list of them, though she preferred to think of them as just chores. Still, there was an equally long list of rewards for adherence. The fist was just being able to be around her family, the sort of reward that she would selfishly cling to no matter what. Big Mac could be a bore, but if there was anypony else in the world with a bigger heart, she would need to see proof. Granny Smith had once made her somewhat uncomfortable, maybe ashamed, but now Apple Bloom couldn't imagine a day going by without a story from her. Applejack was simply the greatest sister in the whole wide world and didn't need much more than that to describe her. And another reward was that best big sister's after-dinner activities. Applejack was sometimes too tuckered out to play or do anything, but after dinner and as the family retired to go and do what they needed to do before they laid their heads down and gave in to the sweet release of sleep, Apple Bloom and Applejack could spend quality sister time without fear of interruption or worry. Well, at least when Applejack was up to it, which was most of the time even when she didn't feel like it since Apple Bloom was both incredibly adorable and took, "No" as a suggestion. "Hey sis, whatcha wanna do?!" Apple Bloom said, the heavy soup in her stomach not seemingly having affected her in the slightest as she bounced up the stairs to the second story, where both of their rooms were located. Best part of the night was sister time!

Several apple orchards should exist all over Equestria, as not only do Apple family ponies live everywhere, but apples are one of the most popular fruit for ponies, too! Other than the name of Sweet Apple Acres and the events and likenesses that have taken place there in the show, all of the following developments for the purpose of canterlot.com world of equestria role play is designed to be an extention of this canonization but yields to future possibilities and canonizations that may and probably will occur in the future of Friendship is Magic. Sweet Apple Acres (Ponyville, Equestria) Crops that grow on Sweet Apple Acres: -Apples (several types) -Lemons -Grapes -Corn -Cabbage -Carrots Animals on the farm: -Pigs -Sheep -Chickens Farm dog: Winona Buffalo Run Apple Orchard (Appleloosa, Equestria) Buffalo Run (originally called Palomino Run) Established a little over two years ago by Braeburn (as of season 3, which I assume some time has passed since Over A Barrel), the orchard was originally named Palomino Run, but was remained Buffalo Run after the events in Over A Barrel. The orchard sits just down the main bridle path from Appleloosa’s main street. Despite being the largest apple orchard in Appleoosa’s area, it is still dwarfed by Sweet Apple Acres, which is double the size. Currently the farm is considered a sole proprietorship, owned and primarily ran by Braeburn with the assistance of his little cousin Apple Pie. Buaffalo Run’s borders are mostly irregular, following the natural contours of the hills and dry creek beds. The only straight borders follow along one of the bridal paths out of town and the edge of Appleloosa itself; other than the town itself, Buffalo Run has no immediate neighbors with the other smaller orchards spread sparsely in the area. The orchard itself sites on low rolling hills, the highest of which sits the pride of the orchard, Bloomberg, donated by the relatives from Sweet Apple Acres. The only other major physical feature of the land in the orchard is the wide buffalo path that roughly runs through the center of it; this path is used by the local Buffalo tribe for their ceremonial stampedes, although most of the time it is unused. Crops: -- Apples – this is what some 80% of the land is used for McIntosh Granny Smith Honeycrisp Red Delicious Gala Fuji -- Wheat -- Alfalfa -- Almonds -- Pecans -- Barley -- Sunflowers In addition to the above, there is a smaller more personal garden that holds are variety of vegetables and flowers. It is for personal use though and doesn't produce anything for sale. Tiny Apple Valley (Fillydelphia, Equestria) The Tiny Apple Valley sits just outside of Fillydelphia towards the Southwest end. On the farm there is a small garden of exotic flowers that is maintained by the three sisters who live on the farm. The three sisters are Apple Bumpkin, Caramel Apple, and Apple Cider. As its name states, the farm is not that big, and the focal point for the farm is the massive farm house almost right inside of the farm gate. The three Apple sisters who live her are very fluent in the language of business and trade and as such did a few 'repairs' to the farm house to make it more presentable to customers. Unlike other Apple Family farms, this farm does not have a farm dog. Tiny Apple Valley, like many farms located near highly populated areas, has a very set border. It isn't very wide, but has great depth. To the right of the large farm house is the chicken coop and barn, and to the left is a storage silo and shed. Directly behind the farmhouse is a single utility building where most farm equipment is kept. Behind these buildings, across the width of the farm, lies the relatively small apple orchard as well as the well-organized crops. The orchard is planted on the side of the property behind the chicken coop and barn, with the crops taking up the land behind the silo and tool shed. Directly behind the barn is a garden of exotic flowers, planted and maintained by Bumpkin. Crops grown on Tiny Apple Valley: -Apples (of course) -Hay -Carrots -Zucchini -Corn -Wheat Animals on the farm: -Chickens ______________________________________________________________ This thread will continue to be updated to remain current with the ever changing board canon and RP activity. 15. Applejack puffed as she scooped apples from off the ground to the closest harvesting pale. "Babysit? Nao!? When there's a swarm of hungray caterpillars headin' this way. I gotta get all these apples picked before they get swarmed on!" Applejack's regrets to the Cake's couldn't really be heard well. But her intention was not to sound selfish. After all, there wasn't much more important to her than the well-being of the apple orchard. Except family. But Applejack was sure that somepony would help them, and since Applejack was a dependable family oriented pony, she was pretty sure she was one of the first the Cake's asked. As the Cake's left saddened by Applejack's regrets, the orange mare noticed a bouncing Pinkie following them. I sure hope if they ask Pinkie she knows what she's doing. Applejack, rushed a pair of harvesting saddlebaskets full of apples to the barn door. She kicked open the door and threw the apples into the barn and shut the door. Winded, Applejack knew that as long as the apples were in the barn, there was no way the caterpillars could get to them. The barn was well made and designed to keep critters of all sizes out. However, Applejack also knew that in order to get all of the apples that were currently on the tree into the barn, she and her brother would have to work extra fast and hard all day and since she hadn't seen Big Mac yet, she was getting a little annoyed with his absense. "Big Macintosh!? Where in tarnation are you at!? We need to get these apples off these trees pronto!" Applejack stamped her hoof as she shouted at Big Macintosh's window.
