Princess Luna made her way through Ponyville. She wore a dark hooded cloak, which lay over her back and wings. The hood shrouded her face, although her horn protruded out from under it. To anypony else, she could have been mistaken for a normal Unicorn, despite her tall and lanky appearance. The first attraction Luna came upon was the Corn Maze, and decided that this would be an excellent place to hide out while she worked up the nerve to join in some of the more eccentric and social activities. She tried to keep a low profile, but at the sound of somepony approaching, Luna scrambled to hide in a patch of corn. Unfortunately, after the pony went by, Luna found that she was stuck! The corn stalks were grown high and very close together, and Luna was wedged between quite a few stalks. The corn leaves tangled into her mane and tail, Luna reluctantly realized that she wouldn't be able to get out of this herself. Oh horse apples! Luna send to herself, struggling to break free of her veggie confines once again. “Can somepony help me?” she called out. “Is anypony out there?”
Gilda had a huge grin on her face as she waited in the darkness. She really did love this time of year. She could totally get behind the spirit of this so called Harvest Spook-Tacular. Any event that had at its heart scaring the stuffing out of lame ponies was alright in her book. She personally couldn't wait to do her part ensuring certain unlucky ponies would get a fright they never forgot. That's why she had flown deep into the heart of the corn maze. She knew there was a haunted house set up, but for her money at this time of night, this had to be the creepiest place this festival had to offer. It was sprawling, desolate and provided this wonderful sense of isolation. The thought of getting lost here was surely enough to make anypony go timid. Gilda was determined to make it even worse. She had painted herself up really good. There was black makeup around her eyes, which gave them a sunken look. Glowing neon green dye coated most of her feathers, creating an otherworldly effect. Her fur was dyed pitch black, allowing it to blend into the darkness of the night. To make it even better, she had streaks of red painted trailing off from her beak, mimicking the look of blood. The look was sure to terrify any pony. Heck, this far east most these ponies had probably never seen a griffin in the first place and would be terrified even without the dyes and make up. Gilda hovered just above the corn watching intently for how it moved, waiting for a target. This was just going to be great. She snickered very quietly and then flew back down into the maze at the slightest sign of movement. Hiding entirely, she watched for the approaching pony or ponies, waiting for the perfect opportunity to give them a scare they'd never forget.
The sun was starting to set as Northern Lights approached the Corn Maze. Her saddle bags were already full of goodies and treats. She almost never left the Everfree Forest, except to go back home to Canterlot, but the festival in Fillydelphia was a family tradition when she was a little foal. Her sister informed her she was too big for that little filly stuff anymore, but Northern is nothing if not a foal at heart, and couldn't resist. The dark blue unicorn mare's horn glows as she pulls out her fair map. "So, I wanna do the haunted house after dark, and I don't want to carry a pumpkin around, so I guess next is the maze, eh, little guy?" She tosses her shaggy, unkempt mane out of her eyes and grins as a small brown nose peeks from her bags. Her hedgehog friend, Ipsum, was happily eating some toffee, a small golden crown perched on his head. Cap bells jingling, the pony giggles. "Oh, greedy King Ipsum, if you eat too much of those, you'll get a tummy ache!" Her costume is a court jester, with a two pointed cap and a red and black harlequin outfit, all bedecked in bells. She never had much time for spooky outfits, preferring fun and playful. And what is a court jester without a king? Ipsum wrinkles his nose at her, then peeks around. The little quilled ruler rarely got to eat candies and he was taking full advantage of every minute. Heading to the maze entrance, she pays her entry fee and starts to wander. After a few turns, she's already well lost, the tall corn cutting off her path in front of her. "Rats... stuck already.. any ideas, your majesty?" she asks, turning to peek at Ipsum in her bags. But all she finds are empty candy wrappers. She checks her other saddlebag, but no hedgehog. Oh no! Did he climb out to try and find more treats? Biting her lip, she looks around frantically. The little fat hedgehog would never be able to find his way out of this maze on his own.. he's certainly lost. "Ipsum... IPSUM!" she cries, dashing off through the stalks.
~The Corn Maze~ Don't get lost! The corn maze is full of twists and turns and dead ends. If you get lost, you could be stuck in here for a long while! Although, being lost with somepony special might not be all that bad... However, as the night grows darker, the maze gets spookier, as the moon becomes the only thing to light your way through the dark maze. Some ponies are liable to play pranks and send you in the wrong direction, or jump out and scare you! Watch out!
