  1. PrinceBlueblood

    Sphinxmaster (Pretzel, Dusty)

Sand. Sand everywhere. For the third time since coming out to the dig site, Princess Bluebelle tried to discreetly cast a little spell to banish every bit of grit from the interior of her fashionable khaki clothes. Her self-cleaning magic, developed over the years as the neat-freak of a unicorn royal dealt with the unavoidable contacts with the dirt and dust of the real world, was usually quite effective, but she felt now that there was always at least one bucking grain that was lodged somewhere sensitive. Perhaps it was just a psychosomatic reaction to seeing the vast plains of sand outside the habitable areas of Saddle Arabia. Normally, the Princess would never venture outside of the beautiful gardens, lush fields, and picturesque streets of the horse Sultanate, but as one of Equestria's most prominent diplomatic ponies, her visits usually were spent in the personal company of royalty or major leaders, the Sultana in this case. And among the duties this Sultana took upon herself was the ceremonial dedication and tourings of the many archaeological digs delving into the history of her country. And that history was fascinating, of course, but Bluebelle still silently lamented the geography. Still, ever the premier diplomat, she did not let her good grace or smile falter as she accompanied the ruler. "I'm afraid I haven't read too deeply into the myths surrounding this dig; your country just has so many. Wasn't there something involving some kind of... sphinx, was it?" Bright, curious eyes; interested smile, and temporarily pristine coat gave all present the impression of the Equestrian tourist, of the more respectful and respectable kind, of course!
  2. Good Evening Equestria, this is your 0600 hourly broadcast come'n to you live from Canterlot Keep. In tonight's weather, Her Majesty's Weather Wing continues in its efforts to ward off the winter freeze. A reported assembly of over 50 cumulus have been gathered and flown North from the plains; bit of an early Hearth's Warming gift from the South. The second wave of this years collected warm front is reported to consist of another 40 nimbus expected to arrive some time in the next coming week, and not a moment too soon as wild storms from the Everfree continue to pile on the snow from both the North and Northeastern districts. For this evening's news, the number of perimeter conflicts continue to climb as the Everfree finds its own way of getting into the holiday spirit. The scientific community is continually baffled by the forest's shiny new toys, a collection of winter adapted wildlife both hostile and otherwise. For those of you tuning in from Froggy Bottom, keep your head's warm and down... ...Speaking of the scientific community, old developments in Ponyville are brought back into the spotlight as a formerly canceled search has been revived. Doctor Petalwing, seen as the town's natural observer, was reported missing over a year and a half ago having entered the Everfree with her team in early spring of last year. Having little friends or family, funds for the search effort were short. Reports say that after a few days the search was officially dropped by the Ranger Corps stationed in Ponyville, sparking a wave of disapproval about how future search efforts should be handled. You ask me, nothing comes for free now a'days... ....Either way, in a surprising turn of events, a press conference was held last weekend to address the up shoot in border conflicts and disappearances. During proceedings it was announced that as a show of concern for the situation a number of cases would be reopened and addressed under direct order of Her Majesty, the first of which was said to be Ms. Petalwing's. So, despite a lack of payment, it seems the Ranger's of Ponyville are in for a not-so-quite Hearth's Warming Week as the preparations for their outing are reportedly underway... Your listening live to the one and only DJ Pon3 on LUN-FM, here with you all night ever night...now while the Spectra lasts, let's get back to the music Welcome to the realm of Nightmare Moon, an Equestria far different from the one we know and love. It's the dead of winter and the eternal night continues to stretch on, as does the continually expanding Everfree forest. With a new ruler, comes a new ethical outlook as the citizens of Equestria have become a colder bunch. With harmony removed the wild forces of the Everfree have been unleashed on the world and the forest closes in. All that stands in its way next to a few thinly stretched border guards, are the Rangers. Conducting operations within the forest they use the newest technologies (something rather developed in Nightmare Moon's Equestria) to bring out those who are lost, or push back whatever comes through the trees. You will play as a new recruit, hastily brought in to assist with a difficult search through the frigid depths of the winter forest. Myself and Whitetoast will be your guides (as we have planned this thing out through the last week) as we move from objective to objective and eventually uncover a whole new case, one that may determine the fate of Equestria as we know it. Construct your applications below...

    Days Ahead ~ 95 PE

BOOM BABY I'm back! -95 Post Empirical A hundred years have passed since the return of the Crystal Empire, Ninety nine have passed since it was invaded by Equestria, and Ninety five years have passed since little under half The Grand Equestrian Guard came walking out. And with them, came the ruin of the old world. Magic: Arguably the Lifeblood of the Harmonic Age, or as it's now called the Empirical Era. There were always stories, cleverly woven tales of its great importance or volatile nature. The latter was usually spoken of by veterans, the old 'Chrome Domes' of the war. But beside its uses, a new debate has arisen; the question of its existence. Seems the stories are getting old, and the minds of their elderly equally so. So, whether fact or fiction, the ears of the world turned deft to the fairy tales and penned a new history. This one, rich in both innovation and conflict. Stepping back to the tail end of the greatest conflict in history, The Crystal War, the legions of both monarchs were battered. When the fighting finally came to a close, resulting in the deaths of both King Sombra and the Equestrian Nobility, leaders became scarce. A large portion of the remaining guard wandered into the East, mingling amongst (more squabbling really) with the Griffon populace. The remaining Equestrians limped back home and left a shattered empire and its people to pick up the pieces. The welcome home was not a warm one. Almost immediately hostilities rose against the remaining Equestrian nobles, those who opposed them claiming that they were responsible for the last four years of devastating conflict. Within the year, Equestria found itself again engaged in open warfare. Due to the poor nature of its exhausted forces, rebelling forces in the South and East quickly overran Equestria's borders and through a series of treaties gained independence. Thus, giving birth to the three western Equine powers... Saddleveil, The Eponnine Alliance, and United Equestria In the East, things appeared more stable, at least at first glance. The Griffons and immigrant ponies, though different in many ways, did manage to remain one state. With the influx of horse power the shrunken nation of Aquellia quickly regained territory lost in the Crystal War, even pushing North with the creation of small 'colonies'...not too far North though. The former Crystal Empire did not recover as well as their Griffon counterparts, or their Equestrian cousins. The pieces never seemed to find their way back together, with a large group of subjects turned isolationists fleeing to the North Eastern island of Whitescar and establishing a nation of the same name. Those who did stay however, took to the wilderness. Scavenging tribes dotted the frozen North, continually fighting for control over the wilderness. Others took to a nomadic lifestyle: roaming from sanctuary to sanctuary in rather large caravans. The only natives who truly reestablished themselves were The Leota Clans, mainly setting up residence in the mountains of the region as to stay above conflict. Throughout the molding of this new world, along all borders, conflict became a staple part of life. Whether attempting to free themselves from the shackles of an ancient monarchy, or reclaiming lands held by their ancestors for generations, the new nations of the Earth began to see past the horrors of war. Having been hardened by the past they approached the future a more determined, yet colder people. Understanding and embracing that some had to be sacrificed for the greater good, these new territories traded humanity for advancement. Days Ahead 95 P.E. Ok, so now that that's all said and done; this will be an rp based around combat (because what else have I ever posted). You will be entering a world very much unlike the Equestria you know to solve an age old mystery while also trying to keep your unit alive. This unit, which will be unaffiliated from any country above, can be made up of any species in the mlp universe whatsoever (with the exception of supernatural beings and probably dragons). The fact that the group is not attached to any official military unit also means that gear wise, you can mix and match from all sorts of wear. We'll be pulling our gear from late ww1 and ww2 styled aesthetics and weapons (as that's how I pictured this time period looking). The world will also be heavily influenced by real history, with each country vaguely resembling a country involved or affected by the conflict. Besides this though, the world will also have an industrial steam punk kind of feel to it, as this is still a world based in fantasy. That being said, Magic isn't a thing anymore...that's just how the story goes. BUT DON'T WORRY! UNICORNS WILL STILL HAVE A PURPOSE! As far as any other info about the world, this'll all be covered in the rp by observing ones environment. I also encourage you all participating to add to the world, nothing to drastic, but definitely feel free to add to the experience. Explain the reputation of a city in your characters eyes or describe some awesome steam punk technology around you, this won't be MY world it'll be OURS. Apps need to cover the basics of your character, don't worry about adding too much back story or personality as again a lot of character and world building will happen in the rp. Don't add any gear to your characters yet, that'll be a whole other stage that we'll take care of once everyone's locked in and their apps are submitted.
  4. You know, I like to write. Whether its to better my own roleplaying style or perhaps I like to create fun little stories. I often write to keep my skills up or when critique comes along, I use it to better myself too. So please if you think something is bad, please tell me. I can't improve myself until I have an outside perspective. However, if you think it's good enough, maybe I will make a roleplay surrounding this idea. So give it a quick read. It won't be a long one...that I can make no promises, I do tend to get carried away. ^^' So this idea revolves around my OC, Astral Star and Spike the Dragon. Of course this isn't canon although their relationship had developed a long time ago for years, a rather slow burn until the two became inseparable. Here's one of their adventures together shortly after Astral temporarily leaves Princess Luna's employ in the Night Court. As the title suggest it's in the surrounding tundra around the Crystal Empire where Astral does find something very peculiar after looking through old records before King Sombra's reign of the Crystal Empire. Without giving it away, Let'sa Go~!

    General Interest Check

Anyone out there interested in a roleplay? Just a little 1x1? I have many ideas but to tell them to would be a disservice to all of you. I think it'd be better as a surprise instead of you know what would go on and the like if my character is anything to go by. Anyway, drop me a line if you're interested. Oh! Forgot to mention, in addition to my own character, I will also be playing as Spike. Not sure if that's allowed but I assume Free For All meant anything at least regarding that...maybe I should've asked. Oh well, I'm sure someone will correct me on it. So please if you're interested then send me a message. ^^
  6. The north had a charm of its own to Daedalus. Maretonia’s seaside geography near warm currents meant he rarely saw snow at home, though travels throughout Equestria had rapidly dispossessed him of that deprivation. Being near the Crystal Empire capital of Crystal Spire had given him nearly enough snow for the rest of his life. But the airship had rapidly cleared the frozen wastes and passed the alpine forest of Leota. The Spring heaths grew green and the forests tall, every bit of flora and fauna in full display. But above the tree line, snow still capped the peaks of the mountaintops of the Webwings. Were it at any other time, it would have been a fine vacation. But as life was wont to do, vacation was curtailed with work. The Keepers never slept and while Daedalus had found his stipend more than adequate to spend on his downtime, he had found such time lacking as of late, especially with his recent commitments to EPIC and the investigation of WRAITH. So Daedalus trotted along the bank of the Corusca River, following it toward its headwaters. The airship had dropped him off at one of the last known secure clearings in Leota before they entered changeling territory. He was to follow the river until it intersected with the Webwing Mountains, then begin his search. An airship had crashed somewhere in the area several days ago, an artifact bound for the Canterlot vaults in its hold. Though he was given little in the way of official literature, he was certain there was something important on board. After all, he was not alone on this trek. Twilight Sparkle had not been satisfied with sending him on assignment by himself, instead electing to accompany him herself. Whether she could or would fill him in was still up for debate. Though the sun still shone, one last bit of winter chill lingered in the air, forcing Daedalus to keep his cloak and cowl pulled close around his body for warmth. He paused for a moment to look upriver. “We’ve got a few hours of daylight left before we’ll have to make camp for the night. I’d like to see if we can make it a few more kilometers upstream. Do you still have hike left in you, Princess?”

    The World of Remnant (Closed)

((We are on an airship that is flying to Beacon Academy. Feel free to mention some backstory or interact with other soon-to-be-team members) Slash stared out of the window of the airship as thought about the guy that he had encountered when he was shopping for dust. The man had been robbing the shop while Slash was looking at weapon magazines. He was completely unaware of it at first since he was so interested at the different weapons in the magazine. He only noticed when one of the orange-haired guy’s men tapped him on the shoulder. “Yes?” Slash asked with an unamused look in his face. “I said put your hands in the air, now!” he yelled, pointing his blade at him. The Faunus’ cat ears twitched as he asked, “Are you trying to rob me?”. The man furrowed his eyebrows and glared at Slash, “Yes!” he said with an annoyed tone. “Ah” Slash smirked as he knocked his blade out of his hand and punched him in the gut, sending him through the wall. The orange-haired man signaled another to attack Slash with a gun, but he tackled him and crashed through the window. He did a back-flip to get back on his feet as the other men looked through the broken window, watching as Slash’s orange gauntlets unfolded up to his elbow, clicking in place. He looked up at them and smirked, waiting for their next move. “Okay…” the man mumbled as he smoked on his cigar. “Get him” he said with an annoyed tone as the rest of his men charged at Slash. Slash waited for them to come closer, punching the closest one through the building and out from the other side. He stood on one hand and swung his foot across a guy’s head and used his other leg to kick anther guy from behind the legs. He jumped back onto his feet and shot the rope kunai from his right gauntlet at a tree, then pulled it off so he could use swing it and knock the rest of the men against the side of a building. Slash retracted the rope back to his weapon and turned his head towards the orange-haired man, who mumbled to himself for a while before looking at Slash, “Well cat prince, I think we can all say that it’s been an eventful evening. And as much as I’d love to stick around…” he said, pointing his cane at him, “I’m afraid this is where we part ways”. He shot an explosive bullet at Slash, but he managed to block it with his gauntlets and land back on his feet. Slash couldn't remember what happened next, something about a chasing the man, a jet and…a huntress. That’s right, a huntress had jumped in to save Slash from a dust explosion. She would've been prettier if she dropped the glasses, but she was too old for him anyways. Suddenly, they were attack by…a really powerful woman. Slash wondered what her face would've looked like if she wasn't behind the shadows, she looked quite young. Slash found himself pushed out of his comfort zone. He wasn’t used to long range battles, which was probably why all of his shots where deflected by the red lady. The woman in the red dress suddenly shot fireballs at them, “Whew, she’s feisty” he thought as the huntress continued to fight her. The woman suddenly shot a wide range attack, making the huntress take Slash’s wrist and run out of the way. The jet flew away as Slash got back onto his feet, Auralynx folding back to his wrists. “So, you’re a huntress” he said as he smirked with a half-lidded gaze, “May I take you on a date?” He soon found himself in a dark room, seated at a table while the huntress scolded him. “They were the ones who started it” he said with his unamused face. The huntress snapped some more before taking a deep breath and said “But there is someone here who wants to see you”. A well-dressed man with grey hair walked in and handed him a plate of food. “Slash Claw…” he said as he leaned toward him, “...do you know who I am?”. And that’s how he got into Beacon Academy. He turned away from the windows and rested his elbows on the rails, looking at the other new students that were on the ship.
  8. In the world of Remnant, creatures known as the "Creatures of Grimm" roam the land. Mankind had battled with the creatures of Grimm for survival since the beginning, but because of their resourcefulness, mankind had discovered 'Dust' which evened the odds against the Grimm. Since then, mankind was able to fight back and survive, using the Dust to power magical abilities and weapons. Now, young Hunters and Huntresses are trained to protect humans from the creatures of Grimm from cornering them into extinction. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We'll be in the city of Vale, attending Beacon Academy. We will be a team of four (i'll figure out the name once we know the characters). We'll be paired during the first test, where we will be launched into the air and land in the forest of Grimm and the first person we see will be our partner. I'm not sure whether we should be ponies or humans, it seems to be weird to hold weapons with hooves. It would be handy if you know the series, somethings would be difficult to explain if you haven't watched it. Everyone would be 17. App: Name: Slash Claw Gender: Male Race: Faunus (cat ears) Appearance: Slash is quite tall and quite muscular, but does not have the body of a body builder. He has short, messy brown hair that his ears poke out of and emerald eyes. He wears brown cargo pants that are rolled up to the bottom of his knees wit a white belt and a chain hanging from the belt loop on the right side of his pants. He also wears a white T-shirt with his symbol (cutiemark) on the bottom left of his shirt and an orange plaid shirt over it. He wears sports orange and brown sneakers and wraps his hands in bandages. Weapon: Auralynx. Slash has orange gauntlets (like Yang's) that go from his wrist to his elbow. He can shoot bullets and explosive rounds from his gauntlets, they can also enhance his strength. Inside both his gauntlet, he has a rope kunai that he uses to keep his foe from escaping or to draw himself closer to things (by shooting at the ground or trees and pulling himself towards the target). When he is not in battle, it is retracted to his wrists. Fighting Style: Slash specializes in close combat, mainly boxing or kickboxing. Even without the enhancement from his gauntlets, he is really strong as one punch can sent a man several feet in the air and through a wall. Slash uses the rope kunai to maneuver around the forest, but is not as effective in a town or building. He also uses the rope kunai to pull back his foe to keep them from escaping. His gauntlets reach up to his elbows so he could block attacks with this arm. Since he is a Faunus, he also has night vision and good hearing, he is also part cat which makes him agile and acrobatic. Personality: Slash is a mischievous, aloof, and an unpredictable sort of person. Away from the public eye, he is actually very talkative and at times stupid. Although he is acts as if he doesn't care, he's actually really protective and cares about the people he knows. Even though he seems like a regular guy on the outside, he has many hidden skills and talents that he rarely speaks about because of the many different jobs he had. He also doesn't like to brag or people who do. 1: Tehengu (PyroBlaze) 2: Midnight Blossom (Shadowbolt0) 3: Andrea Indigo (DreamySunday) Hoping to get joiners! I'm so excited that i'm going to do a cover art for this!!
  9. Rainbowflashdash was walking around ponyville looking for friends, and is also looking for a pony he would fall in love with, why making as many pony friends as he could get, for the time being as he waits outside his home.
  10. Neighpon. It wasn't all that long ago that Ice Storm had found herself here. Even still, that was roughly a year ago, and on not so legal terms on an island other than this one. One of their operatives had been taken by their enemy, which they had found out had been working in the region. That wasn't the only thing that they discovered, but the main mission at the time was rescuing Pathfinder. She can still remember that rainy night. The rain was good, it covered their tracks well, and made it difficult for enemies to hear them. Still, it wasn't without danger and conflict. Conflict that she wasn't expecting on this trip. That was on the Island of Ryushima, and right now she was on the Island of Horshu, just a ways north of Kyona. The city was great but she really came to Neighpon to take in some of the beauty that it had to offer. Right now she found herself in a small almost village like area that she couldn't pronounce the name of to save her life, but it was quiet, pretty, and the noodles were amazing! She always looked forward to lunch and dinner here. That being said, it was actually right about lunch time and she was already starving. She had skipped breakfast every morning just so that she can get the most noodles that she could. She eagerly sat at the outdoor cafe and and awaited her waiter. Thankfully, they had menu cards that she could fill out because she still wasn't all that great with Neighponese yet. she circled the veggies that she wanted in the noodles and then circled the largest bowl and put the number '2' next to it. She gave the menu back to the waiter and smiled before signalling to wait a second. She had almost forgot to circle her tea, which she liked the red clover tea with strawberries and honey. It was delicious. Once she finished that, she simply awaited for her food to arrive and looked around to the countryside. The weather was a tad bit overcast but nothing that she disliked to be honest. Not that she would ever tell Celestia this directly, but she wasn't a very big fan of the sun. in the mornings and evenings if you even looked in a certain direction you were blinded, and if you needed to look up for a pegasi or anything during the day, you were also blinded. It was an issue that most ponies easily work around, including herself, but she still didn't like being blinded on occassion. Cloud cover prevented those situations. As she looked out, she could see a very, very faint breeze blowing in the distance through the treeline of the forest. She wanted to venture in it, but she had no knowledge of the layout of this land. For all she knew she could get lost in there or worse. She only have a vague idea of what predators could be lurking as well. Nothing really worth the risk of sightseeing. Though she had heard about some tours through the safer parts of the forest. She might look into those. Not that she couldn't defend herself of course, but she was here on vacation. She'd much rather not have to fight some big predatory thing because of a situation she needlessly put herself in.
  11. Most of Equestria is filled with places that can be both magical and dangerous for ponies. A standard side effect from living in a world where magic is at the whim of most creatures. Very few decide to use their magic to help others, and most non-sentient beings with magic is more apt to use it's magic to try to kill a pony for food rather than help you out of any dangerous situation that a pony might find themselves in. One of these places, is the Frozen North. In fact, it's dangerous enough that many ponies wont even attempt to go out into it. Not because the don't want to... well, okay, a lot because they don't want to, but also because of the temperatures. It gets it's name for a reason and the frigid temperatures can make an unprepared pony suffer from hypothermia in a very quick manner. This applied to most ponies. Ice Storm on the other hoof, simply used her ice armor as a wind breaker. Her affinity with ice making her much more resistant to extreme cold, but she still came prepared herself. It was likely that the deeper parts of the tundra would force even her to use some provisions of warmth to survive. She was still a pony after all and not a god. However, the fact that she could sustain herself in these conditions much easier than most ponies could was why she was one of the ponies going into the tundra. Aside from the fact that it was where the Crystal Empire was, and the area south of it had been pretty well tamed, everything north was still uncharted. In fact, She had very little information to go off of for what she could even hope to find. The only thing that she could find about the Frozen North in any records that she could find, is that they cold was dangerous, and it's where Sombra was once imprisoned. Otherwise, there was absolutely nothing to go off of. Herself and a few others had taken it upon themselves to venture into the dangerous Frozen Tundra, just to see what was out there, and what they could bring back. Considering that most ponies can't or won't come out here, this place must still be very resource heavy. These resources would go a long way to helping Equestria in many ways. The group that she found herself in was a simple one. A unicorn that she presumed was from the far east, judging by the name but she never verbally tried to guess where he was from. She though she remembered his name as being Nensho from when they first met up for the expedition. One of the other companions with her was a changling. She had met quite a few of them in her time and overall had a rather fond experience with them. there were a couple that seemed to be a bit too skiddish to really interact with, but none of them were hostile. This changling was the same way. In fact, she was a medic. She didn't know how hearty a changling was in regards to cold climates, that the hard carapace would be a benefit or if it would make them easier to freeze. but she supposed that they were about to find out. Naturally of course, they would always have a shelter if things got to nasty weather wise. she could almost instantly summon an igloo for them to stay in and shelter them from wind and provide warmth. The last companion that was with her was an Earth pony named Kappi. She couldn't really say that she knew him very well, but he came to her as a navigator and was interested in coming along. A navigator in a place that a pony can easily get lost in, was very much appreciated. She wasn't a total novice at it herself, but having a pony who's entire thing is navigation rather than a pony who read a few books on how to navigate is much better. Knowing her luck, she would end up getting lost and then EPIC would have to seen a regiment to try to find her. At least she hoped that they would. She looked around to everypony else as they sat inside an igloo that she had made for the first night. Enough holes in the door to let oxygen in and a small fire under the chimney way kept the igloo warm for the other ponies. She made sure to sit as far away from the fire as she could though. "So, where is everypony from? and what made you all decide to come with me?" she asked trying to start a conversation for the evening.
  12. One day rainbowflashdash was flying around doing some cool tricks, until he saw some ponies watching him do those tricks, as he lands in front of them and say hi there ponies like the flying tricks i was doing for fun. Until i crash into a mountain, trying a new trick out.
  13. So, I came with this idea a while ago, and began to write a fan fic about it. I wanna sort of play it out in a roleplay! Now, the idea here is that the mane six are old, and feeble. They can no longer protect the land from trouble, and their enemies know this. Darkness threatens the existence of all Equestria, and it seems nopony can stop it from happening... Until...One day, a group of five friends have wandered to the vary spot Nightmare Moon was defeated by the elements of harmony. The band of ponies, unknowingly awaken a power within that vary place, that can save all Equestria from the dark forces that come... Lightning strikes, and opens an ancient doorway to the Armory of The Elements! It is said, that when the six ponies who embody the Elements of Harmony eventually grow old, and incapable of defending the world, that the Knights of The Elements shall be chosen, and Darkness will tremble before them! This is going to be race open, you can play as anything you wanna be! This will be feral, so... yup!
  14. Somewhere deep in the slow, eternal dance of the heavens drifts a land known as Equesrtia. And among the colorful population of this planet is a team of incredible heroes, destined to save the universe from itself! Join us as we blast off for an intergalactic adventure. Plot: One by one, stars have been disapearing from the night sky and Luna fears the worst. She has asembled a team to search the cosmos for answers and if possible, return the night sky to its former glorry. The ship was made quickly so there is no "warp drive," "lightspeed," or "quantum tunnling." There's also a notable lack of weapons on the ship, but that's fine. There's probably nothing dangerous out there.. right? Roles: Captain, pilot, copilot, mechanics, researchers, medic, assistant, ect. This is a basic list of jobs and it can be adjusted based on who/how many people are interested. Feel free to pitch and idea of you think it could work. 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... BLAST OFF!

    life after death

11 hours after the quarantine. Camp whip military base Doc walked down across a street and into a large building. The inside smelled of bleach, lit with harsh lights and grey tiles. He checked a quick directory on the wall and headed up stairs into an office. The office had a nice rug, there was a desk and a small table filled with metals and memento coins. On the desk was a candy dish filled with cigarettes. He sat down and waited. After a few minutes Rock walks in “hey doc!” he says happily giving him a bro hug! “good to see you sir! How was prance?” Rock sat down and put some papers aside. “lovely actually. Got to go the beach every weekend, best deployment I ever had!” doc nods “you know anything about the zombies?” he asks. Rock shakes his head. “it’s a … I just got back from a meeting with shining armor. We can’t send a huge force in there to find the missing elements. Those zombies will be cured if we can fire the elements off, but what will it be for if we kill most of them.” doc leans back “I suppose that is a problem. …. Zombies man; its not scientifically possible. It just #$%^ me off, because it feels like were not doing anything about it” Rock nods “I know; right!” “that’s why I called you both here!” said a voice behind them. A tall purple pony with a long red mane stepped in. “Voltaire!” they both said happy to see them. Voltaire Alltiree is a special requisitions officer in the military. And close friend to both of them. He seems almost mystical at times. Showing up exactly when needed, with what you want. He is a bit odd. He has a strange yet alluring voice. And hardly anyone knows anything really personal about him. “its good to see you both, my friends.” He says sitting down. “I have a special mission for you. of course in regard to the current crisis.” The stallions both look at each other, then back to Voltaire. “I have approval for a hot team. They want reconnaissance. I want to end this! I can make you a team and give you everything you need.” Doc nods “I’m in. just tell me what to do.” Rock thinks for a bit. “this mission, you want us to go in there, and get the elements. Right?” Voltaire nods “exactly. Ill handle the logistics, and cut the red tape.” Rock slowly exhales “weapons .. we going lethal?” doc says “I here that non lethal weapons. Aren’t effective, nothing can pacify a zombie. Only by rattling up the brain can really stop them.” Voltaire spins in his chair. “Its up to you. Ill have you briefed on effective tactics before the mission.” Rock pulls out his phone and texts his wife “all right; ill join. “ Voltaire gets up “excellent! Meet me tomorrow at the staging area in new Brunswick! Ill get you the best of the best for your squad mates!” Voltaire gets up an dashes off, Disappearing. Rock and Doc get up and walk to Rock’s car. “I bet you want some time to talk to your family. …” rock nods “my wife hasn’t slept since she heard about … them. she terrified. My son is too, but … you know him.” Doc takes the driver seat and starts it up “ ok lets go see them. then we can drive to Brunswick.
  17. The mountainous areas that Canterlot were built upon was peaceful and serene during the time of night. The cool winds blew and gave a soft chill, the stars twinkled in the night sky as the moon shone down it's bright white light to the lands below, and groups of fireflies flew around the grassy plains while their bodies glowed green. Meanwhile, in the royal city itself, groups of wandering ponies were beginning to end their daily routines by heading to the safe confines of their homes, preparing for bed and ready to start anew in the morning. However, there were a small number that chose stay awake for the night, not minding to remain active during dusk hours. Suddenly, outside of Caterlot's large moat, a ball of spiraling energy appeared without proper reason, and exploded. The explosion only left a couple meters worth of grass to be burnt into a black crisp, but it was loud enough to be heard from miles. Once the smoke has cleared, a form of a creature became visible. It was tall and bipedal, standing to be six feet in height with a slender-like build. It wore a strange, orange, rubbery suit that was covered in holes and burns that emitted small streams of smoke. The being's head seemed to be completely made of metal and was slopped in shape. He didn't appear to have a mouth, or an actual face for that matter, but a singular 'eye' that looked more like something from a flashlight. After some time of regaining his senses, the being began to turn and look around the environment he was in frantically, his mind filled with worry and fear as he acknowledged that he was in a completely different world. Despite looking like a golem of some sorts, his movements and mannerisms seemed very organic. "Mother?" He called out loudly as he continued to look around the environment in confusion and worry. His voice sounding very reminiscent to an organic. "MOTHER?!" (Here's the link to the discussion thread about this rp to anyone is interested in joining. It's never too late, and I's appreciate more people coming in. )
  18. Its been so long since I have had a good idea for an rp, but looking back on some of my old stuff, I think Ill bring back an rp I have been itching to do an RP in the world of The Elder Scrolls, where a new race of mortals, known as Equestrians, are just discovered. They are a quiet people, not wanting to leave their home in the side of The Throat of The World, fearing anyone who would enter. This is the tale of two friends, who consider each other brothers, having to find a new home, after a series of strange events that cause the Equestrians to leave. Heres a little bit (the starter, actually) of the RP, just to give you an idea. The cave of Equestia. A vast and deep cavern in the side of the great mountain known as The Throat of The World. The secluded sanctum was like it's own little world. What with the river running through tufts of vegetation that is suited to such a life spreading across for its inhabitants to enjoy. Said inhabitants often living in small clusters of villages. A peaceful sort of place untouched by the world above. There was already talk among the villagers. Murder in their fair town? Preposterous! Blasphemous, even! Though it happened 2 years ago, it was still the main topic of discussion in the whole cave. The parents of a Masquerade Quasoia, were found with slashed throats in the morning of mundas. The poor boy was devastated. Masquerade became an odd boy after that. Having moved on after two years, moving in with his grandfather at the hall of the dead. He was quicker to be angered than he usually was. Threatening to kill bullies and such, whom always would over power the short boy easily, making him even angrier. It happened every morning. This morning was no different... Masquerade was being held down by two colts as one named Blackbird Vicici punched away at the poor Masquerade's face and stomach. Whom cursed their family names. I wanna do this with someone who can type at least two good paragraphs of text, with good English skills. Goodbye, and I hope you will do this with me!

  20. Hello to anyone reading this! I am very new to this site, and I would like to start off an idea of an rp that's been in my mind for some time. While this is an rp in the FFA category, I would like it (and need) for anyone to play the roles of the mane six (plus Starlight Glimmer) and Princesses. Here's a brief overview of what's going on. A self-aware, semi-organic robot by the name of Gabriel was trying to escape from a pursuit with his creator and adopted mother, Eleanor. They were being chased by members of an organization that previously supported her scientific projects; such as trans-dimensional travel. Desperate on trying to find a way to get away from their pursuers, Eleanor activated a portal that was still under construction, and attempted to input a trajectory that would only "teleport" them to a random location outside of the facility they were in. Unfortunately, due to the portal's framework still incomplete, it didn't work the way neither of them wanted. This forced the two to become separated from each other, and end up somewhere in Equestria. Now, separated from his best friend and closest thing he has as a mother, he is alone and desperate to reuniting with her as he is trapped in a random location in Equestria; close to Canterlot. So, anypony interested? I'd appreciate the help.
  21. First there was the faint cawing of seagulls, then the soft crashing of the waves and bubbling sound as they receded into the ocean. That fresh salty smell of the oceans flooded her olfactory senses as their owner slowly regained consciousness. As the three toned maned pony began to move her extremities she took notice of the grainy feeling on her hooves as the sand shifted wetly beneath her form. Soon her eyelids began to lift, exposing her bright purple irises as they scanned and acclimated to the heavy sunlight. The landscape was fuzzy at first but as she gained focus she found her presence of mind seemed to be matching her vision's clarity as it became more vivid. "Ohh... mah head..." the Ivory mare rubbed her forehooves to her temples a few times before she looked around, "A beach?" The pony pulled herself to her hooves and looked at her surroundings, in front of her was a lush and vibrant tropical forest, the calls of various birds and animals present that seemed almost musical. She looked behind her to see the ocean, waves crashing against the shore and then pulling back into the deep blue waters. On the horizon of the water, she could see what looked like a violent tropical storm drifting just out of view... "That's right. there was a storm... Ah was on a Boat..." Soon her mind drifted back to the memory of what her publicist had told her; she needed a vacation. She'd been producing a great deal of short stories so fast the printing presses weren't able to keep up and then suddenly she'd hit a bad case of writer's block. Go on a cruise in the gallopocus, she said. It'll be fun, she said. She was gonna have quite a talking to when Foxglove got out of this situation. Wiping some sand off her face and the rest of her, she looked around for her favorite accessory; Her Umbrella. She looked around and then noticed something black hanging from one of the various palm trees at the edge of the shore. She sighed, somewhat annoyed and thought to herself, "Well, at least it's close. ah'll have ta come back for it... fer now, Ah should look ta see if anypony else had luck like mine." With that she began to stroll down the beach, her hooves leaving her mark in the sands. As she walked she made sure to keep a bit of distance from the tide so the water wouldn't wash her tracks away. "Anypony Here?" she called out, her voice echoing a good ways down the coastline.

    Camp Half Blood-Heroes of Equestria

OOC discussion thread: http://www.canterlot.com/forums/topic/22420-camp-half-blood-heroes-of-equestria-signups-ooc-discussion/?page=1 Eclipse woke up to another old day in Camp Half-blood. Being alone in her own cabin is normal as Nyx didn't have many children and all of her siblings were either yet to be found or already dead. Being alone in camp is also normal as she has a hard time making friends, all thanks to her trust issues and naturally glaring eyes. Eclipse got up from her bed and got ready, putting on her armor and hair clips before going out to get breakfast. It's been like this every day for the past ten years she's been in camp, but it didn't bother her. Waiting for another visit from her mother was usually enough to keep her looking forward, as her last visit brought her hope and a new weapon...along with some warnings. Speaking about Nyx, thanks to her, Eclipse always has to watch her back twice and hope that Hades doesn't send something to kill her. Regular demigods have celestial bronze weapons that can kill monsters and mortals, but the blade and the spear butt of the halberd is made out of stygian iron which can only be used by descendants of Hades. The reason why Hades was so nit-picky about who can use stygian iron weapons is because it can kill monsters, mortals, and immortals. Not exactly the perfect gift to give to your daughter whom you haven't seen in twelve years, but Eclipse was still grateful. It is also because of this that Eclipse has been afraid to go on quests even though she is one of the best when it comes to fighting. She arrived at the dining hall and got her food, scraping a little of it into the fireplace as an offering to the gods before she sat down at her cabin table, which was empty too. "I've just about had enough of this" she thought, setting down her fork. "At combat practice I will make a friend...or two!"
  23. -I know i've just made this ooc discussion a while ago, but I wanted to restart the roleplay. If needed, please remove the previous ooc and rp thread. Thanks!- A crossover roleplay between the Percy Jackson series and MLP! We will be roleplaying as ponies and this would take place in Neigh York (see what I did there) I know this has been done before (thanks Bluelight), but I did miss this crossover very much which is why I want it rolling again. I'm not really strict when it comes to greek mythology, so you can be a child of Artemis (a virgin goddess) -Some knowledge of the Percy Jackson series and/or Greek mythology is recommended. -I don't think we'll have someone playing as a child of one of the big three (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- App form: Name: Gender: Species: God parent: Claimed?: Appearance: Weapon: Fighting style: Personality: My app Name: Eclipse Gender: Female Species: Pegasus Goddess parent: Nyx Claimed: Yes Weapon: Eclipse uses a halberd with the blade made out of stygian iron and a shaft of celestial bronze which she had received from her mother. It also has a butt shaped like a spear head also made from stygian iron. When she isn't using her halberd, it collapses and splits into her hairclips. Fighting style: Eclipse isn't good with long nor short range attacks, which is why she prefers to use a halberd in battle. Her weapon allows her to attack targets in-front and behind her Personality: Eclipse is cold towards strangers and ponies she had just met. But once trust is built, she is friendly and caring. She tends to be blunt and gets to the point as she doesn't like to waste time avoiding the main point. Eclipse is also serious when it comes to serious matters. When she is with her friends, she becomes clingy, loving, and cheerful, as if she is a different pony. Others: Since her mother is Nyx, her conscience can go into people's dreams. She has tried to attack ponies in in her dreams, but it doesn't do anything but give them a nightmare. She is also able to fight better in the night as it clears her head of other problems and is also able to communicate with nocturnal animals and soon will be able to control them. She is also able to control shadows, but she has yet to unlock that ability. She doesn't have much of a connection with her mother, but she does respect her and always hopes to see her again. 24. ----------------- This was going to be a drag. Or would, if no one actually showed up. Fabled Archives, scion of the House E'athr and one of the most prominent citizens of Maretonia, couldn't help but chuckle slightly as he thought about the ruins deep within the jungle, wondering what his parents might say if he keeled over and died from some trap or another while making his way through them. They'd probably shake their heads and talk about "that boy" of theirs, off on his wild chases and stuck in the past, rather than looking towards the present. The thought made him depressingly nostalgic. Still, despite his smarts, Arc couldn't just...leave. Even if no one answered his messages and showed up to help him through the ruins, he would just go by himself. The Legacy of Yemaja...finding the birthplace of her nation? Legend though it was, it was Abadan. And all legends were based on some truth. This legend of a legend could reveal new secrets to the Abada themselves, their civilization, their origin - their demise. It was simply too good an opportunity to pass up. "Though I can't say a spike through the skull is as exciting a prospect," Arc sighed to himself, tipping his chair back even more as he looked out towards the jungle from the hollowed out tree. It was one of the lesser meeting trees in Mti Nguvu, lower than the main council tree and easily accessible by the pulley system along its branches. The scrolls in front of him rustled in the soft breeze as the Unicorn gazed outward, waiting for even a hint of a newcomer. ----------------- Being the mediator of a nomadic tribe, she knew she could not call herself adverntrous, at least in the truest sense of the word. And unlike many other ponies in her tribe she never really explored outside of it, in fact she never really wanted to. She had found her place among her tribe. Then something strange happened... A message was received by her tribe about an expedition to find the Legacy of Nebaja. This piqued even Kutula's interest, every colt and filly has heard the story of the lost birthplace of the nation. She debated heavily on whether or not to go. And then some of the other tribes members, seeing her uncertainty told her she should go. As one who has not been away or seen the world on her own, she owed it to herself to have at least one adventure, as no one should feel tied down. It would almost like be a quest to discover herself. Most adults in the tribe had done so at least once in their life. Being thuroghly convinced, she agreed that it was time and decided to go. She asked her tribe the best way to go, and what to look for and feel from their position. The path was easy and so she set off. The trip was long but not difficult, and it took two days of travel, but she made it in Mti Nguvu. She quickly found the hollow tree that was to be the meeting place. There was but a single equine inside. "Greetings to you. Might you be Arc who called out to those for a search for Abadan, the supposed place of the birth of the nation? I am Kutula, a zebra of a northern nomadic tribe, and I would like to assist you on your quest." ----------------- Stormstride had been nearby. A depo between villages, only a day by flight. She was resupplying for her own journey into the jungles when the message came through. She began checking her notes. Yes. The name of the city had come up more than once in her research. IT was definitely worth her time to investigate. She had her own reasons, but this would at least prove a chance for the mare to get there with a safer means than just wandering aimlessly through jungle with nothing more than a map she had made off of visual reference notes from past explorers. And so as she sued her wing spell to take flight, she could not help but be enthused by this. By the time she arrived at the destination, which was thankfully well known to many zebra she asked, she was a bit tired. Landing softly she quickly operated the pulley system with her magic to pull herself up. Once she was there, she saw two ponies. Smiling she set her pack on the floor with a heavy thud. Her clothing was more robe than anything. But it was light and airy. "Hello. I was looking for a pony that sent out a message about Nebaja. I have an interest in this myself and was hoping I was not too late." She dismissed her wing spell, and came to a seat. She smiled sweetly, pulling her hood back some. Her robes were made for cold weather. The kind one would see far in the north. Fet Loch was the insignia her robe bore, But as she sat, the robes parted and revealed armor. She was prepared for something dangerous. ----------------- Being a pegasus had it's perks. Distances shrunk when jungles, winding roads, and mountains got out of the way. Though, flying over the jungle while carrying all his equipment was a task in and of itself. Especially to a part of the jungle the pegasus had never been before. Thankfully the locals knew where the meeting location was. A city hidden in the jungle, not even on the ground, in the trees. No pyramids though. Navigating through the city was a challenge too. His mind wasn;t so used to not being able to see where paths led, and every tree looked similar to the last. After enough wandering, though, the meeting place was found. Dunder dismounted the basket to further examine the 3 figures iside the room. 2 ponies, 1 zebra. Only other armored. All were probably armed. "Hello. Is this the meeting place for the expedition for Nebaja?" He said. The pony himself was armored, chest plate, shoulder pauldrons. Rapier at his side. ----------------- Well, that was about three more bodies than he had been hoping for, so he was counting it as a win. Arc couldn't help the pleased smile that lit up his face a Zebra first entered, seeming perfectly at home in the tree city. Lucky him - he'd been contemplating hiring some sort of guide to get through the jungle, but a Zebra would undoubtedly be all the assistance he needed on that front. The Unicorn didn't have time to the do much but nod in return, however, as she was closely followed by another Unicorn, then a Pegasus fellow, both of which looked like the adventuring sort that was used to traipsing through dangerous ruins and jungles. Doubly lucky! Though something the last two said struck him as odd, causing him to shake his head in some self-deprecation. "My messages must have gotten a little lost in translation," Arc said nonchalantly, a wry grin on his face, "but yes, this is undoubtedly the meeting place. Thank you all for coming - please, take a seat." This was said with a wave at the chairs situated around his table, before the tan stallion leant backwards in his own chair, critically appraising the other three. "So, introductions are in order," he began, careless grin tilting up one side of his mouth. "I am Fabled Archives of House E'athr, for whatever that's worth in these lands. Please, call me Arc. Now tell me - what are your names, and what have you heard about the Legacy of Yemaja?" ----------------- Kutula nodded at the go ahead to take a seat. She tapped the floor with her hoof revealing the locations of the seats and proceeded towards one. The call for introductions... Kutula looked forward, not directing her muzzle at any pony in particular. "I am known as Kutula, of the northern nomadic tribe." Kutula paused "As for the Legend of Yemaja, every colt and filly in an Unyasi tribe knows of the legend. If that is the goal than it is an elusive goal at that, but might lead to other things worth our while." ----------------- Storm nodded softly, taking that in and then taking out her notebook. making notes as she listened. her magic held the quill. Then he spoke. "I am Stromstride the Lesser, Cloud family. Decended from the ancient weather mages of Maretonia. I hail from Fet Loch. I know very little of the legend itself, or the culture surrounding it. My interest is more close to home. There are rumors of shamen that controlled weather using the power of an artifact I found in my research. That artifact is something I am interested in. I have bee gathering the artifacts of my ancestors. I have been lucky enough to recover two so far. I came, thinking that there might be another here in the jungles." She took a moment to catch her breath. "I am well versed in magic, and combat. If you would have me, I would offer my sword in exchange for this artifact. I mean no disrespect to your ancient kin, my good zebra. But that artifact belongs with my family. And I intend to have it back and protected from those that may misuse it, or destroy it to prevent it from even being misused. As valuable as it is for history and culture, I can not allow it to be misused by those that do not understand what such an artifact is capable of. That said, if the rumors prove false, all finds are not my concern. You can do with them as you please and I will have no worry in that matter." ----------------- Dunder listened and examined from the portal. The unicorn stallion, Arc, was certainly the ringleader of the operation, calling the shots as he asked for introductions and knowledge on the Legend of Yemaja. The zebra acted bizzare, tapping the floor with her hoof, navigating to a seat after doing so. A nervous twitch? Or something more? She introduced herself as a zebra from the north. She was leading herself on to be nothing special, which made Dunder all the more suspicious. The unicorn mare, Storm, was the most outwardly suspicious. Demanding already dibs on an artifact that may or may not be in a place that is already in itself a legend. "You claim that you need this artifact to keep us safe, how will we know you won't use it for bad yourself?" Dunder butted in. "Anyway, I am Dunder Blust. Professional sword. and I have read of the legend, and heard it in passing. Always seemed more of a tall tale than anything real. Certain details changing each time I heard it..." ----------------- Well this was certainly an...interesting mix. Still, Arc couldn't very well complain now could he. What was that saying? Dock workers can't be choosers? He certainly wasn't a dock worker, but he from his position facing the carved out entrance of the tree, there certainly weren't any more adventurers clambering to join in on a deadly deadly expedition. The other Unicorn was the most surprising however, causing one of Arc's eyebrows to raise mildly even as he nodded in acknowledgement of Kutula's knowledge of the legend. No surprises there - Abadan though it may be, the Legacy of Yemaja was as highly recognized amongst the Zebra themselves, though whether or not the majority actually believed it was something Arc couldn't hazard to guess. "You'll all be paid for your services, of course," the tan Unicorn spoke up again, still leaning backwards against his chair, "but any artifacts we happen to come across will be staying with me - at least until I can discern their relativity to my current areas of interest," he added, with a half-apologetic smile towards Stormstride. They were going to be on his time after all, not their own. "But!" he continued abruptly, slamming the legs of his chair back onto the tree trunk, "no use counting our chickens before they hatch, eh? Plenty of time to do that after we catch the chickens...or the eggs. Whichever comes first." Arc rummaged around his prepared travel pack, before pulling out four sheets of paper. "For now, assuming you're all still interested...familiarize yourselves with this." One paper was given over towards each individual, the last placed in front of himself, as Arc looked over each of his companions' faces. "What you're holding is a copy of the complete Legacy of Yemaja," he explained, indicating the paper each pony now held, "transcribed by the best linguists and historians to date. Tell me," Arc said, turning his pale blue gaze onto the Zebra, "what do each of you make of it?" ----------------- With a smile the zebra listened intently to the introductions. The first was Stormstride the Lesser, from Maretonia... She had heard of this place from travelers whom have passed through her village before. She didn't know much about it, but she did know this. No one could lay claim to any artifact. They were artifacts because they were ancient. The lineages were wrought with complexity, and the danger or safety of these were not up to just anyone, nor did that matter much. The pony sounded confident though, very sure of themselves and their abilities, however many have seemed this way and have fallen short. "No disrespect was had, just misunderstanding. No one can truely lay claims to anything so old. The lineages of family are like a spiders web, Starting at a point and branching endlessly. I can say this for certain, the owner might be of your lineage, but it is certainly might also be that of another. The power of that artifact is a troublesome one, but its place is in its ancesteral home of Unyasi, if it truly does exist" The zebra responded to the direct words of the 'researcher'. The next was a selfproclaimed "professional sword" named Dunder, who seemed to have similar concerns as herself regarding the artifact. Hmph payment. Kutula was not so sure what payment would do for a nomad like herself, living off the land. Sure if she decided to leave Unyasi one day to travel outside it would be useful, but really she was not here for material possessions, but to see if the legend was true for herself and to perhaps find herself through the hardships of being out on her own for the first time. She nodded at his declaration and subsequent. "I am not so sure removing such an artifact would be wise Mr Arc, however, we can discuss that if we find the legends to be true. Such matters are not to be settled lightly, and surely a mutually beneficial solution can be found for all." And then he produced four sheets of paper, and asked what they all thought... Had he not noticed? Kutula knew she hid it well with her movements and her ability to see without seeing, but still, most ponies when they saw her eyes knew almost immediately... Still she smirked, she was not without a sense of humor. He explained that it was a transcription of the legend itself. "It sounds like a sheet of paper. And it feels like it is a very nice piece of parchment at that. However, what is contained upon it, I cannot say." Kutula was not going to spell it out, but was rather interested in what everyone's reaction would be after they realized. And she had said what she did after feeling the paper and returning Arc's gaze back towards him. ----------------- Stormstride lifted her helm off. Setting it down gently as she looked at the pony. "I doubt she would need the papers." she said softly. "The blind often see more than we with sight ever shall. My own daughter is deaf, and she hears far more than I." Looking over the papers she flipped open her notebook. Adding information as she went. Her pen moved without her looking at it. Though her eyes roved the pages. After a moment she set them down. "All in all, this is not some fairy tale. Many times I have come across similar legends about places my own ancestors once inhabited. Though I doubted them, I found them truthful." As she set her notbook aside she looked at Arc. "Keep your coin. I have no use for it. My interests are purely academic, and if the artifact I seek is there, protecting ponies from what it can do. Too many times I have seen power corrupt. I think not that any pony should possess it. My intent was to disenchant it. Let it remain just as it is. An artifact.... assuming it even exists." Her tone hinted at something. Something she knew and wasn't sharing just yet. SHe shed her cloak. The armor was that of Fet Loch design. It was made for cold climate. But this armor was adorned. Like it was for ceremony, not combat. Gems dotted some spots. Others had intricate carvings. As she sat again, she spoke. "I believe... There may be something in this. We should proceed with caution. Slow and steady as we go. Trusting not our notes, but our instincts. These types of ruins were often protected, even after they were no longer inhabited. Could be common animals. Could be ghosts. I would rather all four of us make it there and return intact rather than in wooden boxes to be placed on funeral pyres." Storm opened her notes. Looking them over, she made notations and footnotes. Her writing was quick as she spoke. "As well, we are likely to face environmental hazards. Water supply I can handle easily enough. Though we will need help knowing if foods we find are safe to eat. I an not familiar with jungle vegetation. My own travels have taken me from my home in Fet Loch to Maretania and back. Across mountains, through caves and into deep forests. But never desert nor jungle." ----------------- Dunder leaned on the wall by the entrance, listening to them all talk. He was amzed at how much ponies and a zebra could get excited about something that might not even be there. Then again, he could understand getting excited about ending a search. But he knew none of these characters, they all were equally untrustworthy. But Storm's confidence in aquiring this artifact demanded attention. And it would not be in vain if this artifact was as powerful as she claimed. When Arc summed the four parchments from his bag, Dunder got up from the wall and slowly cantered over and snatched one up in his wing. While he trotted over, he examined Storm's armor and instantly recognized it as Fet Loch. But it also appeared to be ceremonial, encrusted with jewels. Maybe this pony didn't know hat they were doing. Or maybe it was specialized mage armor. When he heard the zebra mare's comment, the pegasus chuckled. "Can't read Equestrian? I understand, it's pretty confusing, actually. I could read it aloud to you, if you like." ----------------- Arc was out of the loop. Arc hated being out of the loop. After all, being in the loop, especially concerning old legends, mythologies, and ancient history, was sort of his thing. And even more especially, his current thing was pertained to the Legacy of Yemaja. What in Equestria sort of artifact were they all going on about, that Stormstride seemed so certain she would be able to find on this venture? It was going to get very old very fast, if she needed to be constantly reminded that they were being hired for his operation, not her own. "So long as everyone remembers why we're here," the tan Unicorn said mildly, with another nod towards the Zebra's admittedly wise caution against removing artifacts from deadly ruins. "I'm after the supposed birthplace of Unyasan kind - we won't be taking any detours." Kutula spoke up again however, momentarily diverting Arc's attention as his ears swiveled in surprise. The Zebra was blind? Buck, he'd completely missed that. The grey Pegasus Dunder Blust apparently had as well, or at least confused it for something else. "Please, allow me," Arc spoke up with a toothy smile that the Zebra could not see, and levitated his own parchment upward to begin reading. When he was done, Arc set it back down to look back over the other three ponies once more. "So, now that everyone's heard it, one more time - what do you all make of the legend? The legend mind, not our future venture," he clarified, with a pointed look towards Stormstride. She'd given some sound advice on how to proceed, but not on the actual words on the paper. "It's a tall tell, true, but the Abada from this particular region of the Brakenweald were notorious for encoding their legends with cryptic advice, hints, and otherwise nuggets of truth." ----------------- 'Read Equestrian?' That was a silly inquiry. If it was not yet clear that Kutula was not of the 'seeing' sort, then this would be a very interesting trip indeed. This did not bother her and before she could reply to the offer the leader of the expedition took the initiative and read it aloud. "The legend is just that... legend. In fact in our tribe it is a story we tell foals." The zebra paused trying to recall all the details, truth be told each adult of the tribe seemed to have their own variation, but it was more or less the same. "Your legend seems to be a combination of the tellings. I cannot say if it is true or not, but it is in the experience of the zebra tribes that all stories have some grain of truth to them." The idea of traps and other dangers were brought up. "While the Abada have been said to set up traps, it is something that we can help to avoid, or even set off before we are in danger. Ghosts and the supernatural are things to be weary of, especially for those whom wish to disturb their slumber. If the intent of this endeavor is pure, than I am sure we will be granted safe passage." ----------------- Stormstride kept quiet for a bit. Her eyes were moving across the group. Sizing each up. Though she finally spoke. "I hope you are right my dear zebra. I hope so." She ran a hoov across her chest plate. Tapping it softly. The look on her face changed. She was remembering something unpleasant. After a moment she looked at her notes again. moving her hoof over the page she kept silent. "Aside from what you said, I have to agree with her. The legend is just that, but there is a bit of truth to every story told." She sighed as she closed the notebook. Tucking it away again she sat still. Brushing some of her mane from her face, she revealed a large scar running the length of her cheek. It ran almost to her eye. "That said...." her eyes locked on Arc's. That stare. That was a battle stare. "You are the brains. I will let you have my notes as you need them. But I am not here for coin....if it were about coin I could have made plenty in Fet Loch at my guard post. Plenty of coin to be made for custom weather and spell lessons. I am merely some brute force when needed." Her gaze left a few unsaid things, but she kept quiet and softened her look. She turned her eyes toward the Pegasus. She was sizing him up. He was physically stronger than she. large wingspan. Decent looking as far as proportion of muscle went. He was a seasoned fighter at least. Trained in some form of combat. And he looked like he was able to take care of himself. He would be reliable in a fight. Then she looked at the Zebra. No way to figure out a zebra without asking directly. They were always good ponies though. She had never met a bad one. As she looked back at the papers Arc passed around, she kept her thoughts to herself about what may be found there. Hopefully, nothing. She had come of her own accord to find this place herself anyway. Traveling with them was just helping ensure she would get there faster and safer. And she was not intent on causing any trouble. But she was not going to allow the artifact she was looking for to be in the hooves of another pony. She would destroy it first. ----------------- Dunder tried not to show it, but he was mildly upset that Arc would steal his thunder. But, it was Arc's expedition and writing after all. Instead of protesting, Dunder trotted around and grabbed a seat, between the zebra and Fet Loch mare. He pulled his buckler off his sword belt and laid it on the table, boss down, idily spinning it while Arc read the passage. When he was done speaking, Storm spoke up again. When Dunder turned his head to look at the speaker, he saw the scar in it's breif moment in the light. Maybe this mare was more seasoned than Dunder initially thought. In almost the same breath, she expressed no interest in coin. "If she won't have her cut, I'll take it. Or we could split it." Dunder said and motioned to the zebra. "And I'm going to handle the cooking. I've been in enough jungle to know what will be needed initially and then what we could take from the jungle." ----------------- [[ TBC ]]

    FoalNapped!

Foalnapped was an old project of mine on my old forum, It was liked because of it's well difference to everything else, it was liked because it was the story of brother attempting to rescue his sister from the Foalnapper, who was rampaging throughout Equestria stealing small children and adults from their families, I have now brought it here in hopes of it finally finishing and the Foalnapper being brought to justice. If this ever does get off the ground I will be using the only Oc I have on this site Ember. so the story will be changed slightly to allow for her gender and only childness, so it'll be someone that she knows who has had their child or partner taken, that part could be played by you sir or madame viewer! or it could just be a NPC who just tells who the kidnapped was.
