  1. [Age of Heroes] Lucky Charm [Ready]

"Villain" name: Lucky Charm Powers: The ability to bring himself good luck and others bad luck, often allowing for him to escape. For example, a previously unnoticed banana peel may appear on the floor, or the fastenings of a tapestry may come loose and fall, or a window may just happen to be open right when he needs it. Also short teleportation bursts that seem to come and go, but always at a lucky moment. He can only give himself good luck 7 times, or give somepony else bad luck 13 times, before his powers reverse themselves on him. They'll only switch back if he give himself bad luck 7 times in a row or somepony else good luck 13 times in a row to balance out why he has done. Alias: Silver Bead. He lives with his older sister, Beadabell, above their small craft store. He does his best to hide his "nightly shenanigans" from her, but she knows something is up. She just lets him continue it, trusting that whatever he is doing, he is staying out of trouble. And besides, he wouldn't want someone to drag her into his business and hurt her. Backstory: Silver Bead and his sister were orphaned after a fire swept through their tiny town. He was barely out of diapers at the time, and doesn't remember anything before the flames. The pair were taken to an orphanage, where a kind unicorn cared for them. They were never adopted, but they didn't mind. The orphanage was fun and lively with a dozen other little ponies at any given time to play with, and the unicorn that looked out for them was a very kind individual. But he and Beadabell knew they couldn't stay forever, so they left once Silver had reached young stallionhood to make their own way in the world. He had found back in the orphanage that he could manipulate luck, but as he and his sister found it harder and harder to get work, he started learning to really fine-tune his ability. Carefully, subtly, he messed with things. While they were applying for a job, two of the ponies working there had "accidents" almost at the same time. Nothing life-ruining, just a couple of broken legs, but enough that they couldn't work for a while. When the siblings tried to find an apartment, one tenant happened to run out screaming about rats. Of course, none could be found, but he wasn't coming back and his lease had been paid. He told the siblings to "keep it" when they asked him. And on and on it went, with luck seeming to chase the siblings until Beadabell was finally able to open her own shop, like she had always wanted. But what Silver didn't tell her was how he got the extra bits. He had taken up petty thievery to pay for these things. Luck was getting them in the door, but luck wasn't going to pay their bills. At night, he would go out and find somewhere new to scout out, always planning and thinking for weeks at a time until he was ready. Then he would take what he needed to fence off to pay for their latest debt and go. But he came to found that he liked the rush, and started going for bigger and bigger targets. The slow build made things easier for him, and he got better and better with each run. Not to mention honing his luck ability. No longer a petty thief, but a notorious one, he stole just for kicks, then sent the money along to somepony who needed it. Not so much out of altruism, mind you. But simply because he didn't need it, nor did he need the suspicion to fall his way. Notable Allies: None. He prefers to work alone anyway Notable Personal Villains: Police Chief Amber Trap, who has been trying to track down and capture the thief for years, ever since he started to get bigger. General Notability: Heroes tend to look at him as a nuisance, someone who taunts them and runs away just as he's about to be caught. Some of them don't even bother to respond anymore, considering it a waste of their time. Villains, on the other hand, consider him a joke. They don't consider him to be serious enough to be truly considered a villain, especially not when he gives to charity so often. At best, he's neutral, only serving his own interests, and there are some villains who wouldn't mind the chance to kill the smear on the villain title once and for all. As for civilians, those he helps are grateful to him and have offered him a place to rest, should he need it. And he is quite the mare's stallion, leaving a trail of charmed ponies in his wake with broken hearts or interesting stories to tell their friends. All in all, reactions to him are a huge mixed bag, and it varies from pony to pony.
  2. Name: Lightning Dust Corporate ID: LDEL6370 Citizen ID: IPE-PLU-3-6-56LR Powers: Lightning Dust is augmented heavily with the best magitech from her home universe that is decades more advanced than the magitech in universe TK78 (The Age of Heroes universe) in many fields. The following is what her augmented upgrades allow for. Magic shield generator: A shield that forms around her body that can withstand heavy amounts of firepower but uses all of her reactor's power. As such she can not use other weapons or powers with this up and it can be overloaded. If this happens the shock can temporarily take LD offline. Gravity locks: Bult in her legs they allow her to walk on walls, ceilings or stand on speeding objects without hindering her movement. Can not be used to pick up heavier objects as they only pull her onto a surface. They can be used to pull objects closer to her if they are within a few hoofs reach. carbon mesh bones: All of her bones were heavy reinforced with with magically reinforced carbon mesh that makes them all but unbreakable except for the the most horribly powerful of impacts. Enforcer Plate: Much of her body is protected by an integrated armor that is built for frontline combat, borderline unbreakable it can withstand forces and heat that will shatter and vaporizer steel and only lose some paint to show for it. 2x APSG mk’6 TL: Two twin barreled magitech SMGs that fire tiny magic bullets in a weathering hailstorm. What they lack for in firepower per a shot they make up for in sheer overwhelming volume of fire at a combined rate of fire reaching a horrific 12,000 rounds per minute. But this overwhelming wall of magic bullets is power hungry and she can not keep up sustained fire for long before needing to cool down and letting her LAY reactor recover. Skull Jack: Deployed from her front left leg this tools looks like many small tendrils that can invade one's skull by their ears, nose or other places to slither in to one's brain and read it or worse, force somepony to do something on her behalf. It is not deadly but can leave a pony with a crippling headache for weeks afterwards. Augmented brain: Lightning Dust's brain has been heavily augmented to work faster and handle all the feedback her augmented body feeds her. It is also what enslaves her to the Corporate will of her home universe. Only in a different universe has she found limited windows of true freedom to think for herself and struggles to hold on to it. Augmented eyes: Seeing in the dark? Infrared? She can do both and can with a limited degree zoom in to study finer details or spot things farther away. EL-class LAY reactor: Her heart and source of all her powers and life. Feeding of the magic of the world it far surprises the barbaric reactors of older times and is the most advanced piece of magitech from her home universe and is decades more advanced than what meny in universe TK78 believes is possible for it’s size. Backstory: In a far away universe the finding of LAY unleashed a new age of magitech that spiraled out of control with such speed nopony knew what to do or what was coming. Flying wagons, ships than cities took to the sky. Corporations gained power from it and pushed deeper into daily life as they replaced governments and soon the Corporate wars happened. Devastating the world with years warfair with new magitech weapons ponies were forced to live in vast flying mega cities as the world below them was changed and corrupted in to something horrific. Yet the gears of progress pushed on. In this universe A pony named Lightning Dust was born. Tenacious, cold and driven to be on top she did whatever it took to follow her dreams at whatever cost to others. In a world dominated by warring mega Corporations she found her ideas not only liked but wanted by powers far greater than the famous LAY Racing team “Thunderbolts”, she welcomed the offers after losing out to joining the Thunderbolts to a mare named “Rainbow Dash”. Joining on as a Corporate Enforcer she soon found the job much to her liking and soon started to climb ranks. It was the best day of her life when she was promoted to Lieutenant as she had grown to worship them as beacons of her dreams. Rich, powerful and feared by the working class and even nobles Enforcer Lieutenants were the voice and blade of the Corporations. But she soon found they paid a terrible price for it. She was forced to undergo cybernetic implants and upgrading. Her free will was removed, she acted like her hold self but inside she was just a slave acting free. She had no freedom to say no to her masters, she did as told without hesitation and followed orders blindly hardly remembering why. In time she stopped battling it and found joy. She loved serving the Corporations. She loved the CEOs, they knew best and all were blind that did not think so. They were the true gods of ponies. Chained to there will she proved her worth and soon was promoted to Lieutenant First Class. The leader of the Lieutenants and first hoof of the CEOs she was feared in all levels of pony life as no nobel was safe from her judgment and no homeless outlaw could outrun her forever. It was here she was given her most risky orders yet, their homeworld was dieing. The years of warfare and the use of LAY was killing the world, sucking it dry of magic and resources. So the Corporations in a complex web of dealings and proxy wars began a joint project. Gate Kicker. Some of their most trusted servants were to be teleported to other universes to find new worlds to explore, expand and exploit for the Corporations. The most promising universes was named TK78, it was overflowing with magic and raw LAY, the world was livable and populated by other ponies and looked to be lacking in comparable technology. Feeling confident this was the world they were looking for they called for Lightning Dust and briefed her on her duty. To explore the world, find a weak place in the walls of the universes and deploy the universes anchor to open a permanent gateway so the armies of the Corporations can overwhelm the world and claim it. With pride she took too her duty and using the most advanced minds of the Corporations they built a small one way gate, without an anchor just keeping a gateway open for more than just a blink of an eye was difficult so she had to go alone. Trusting her fully she was deployed. Lightning Dust teleported just outside a major city and for the first time in her life found her thoughts free. All she had done for the Corporations crushed down on her like builders. The faces, tears, blood and her heartless smile. but soon as she had her moment of freedom it was forced away, locked behind doors as the implants came back online. Cut off from her home they were running on autopilot with one order hammering in her brain. Find the weak spot, deploy the anchor… DEPLOY THE ANCHOR, FOLLOW ORDERS, FIND THE WEAK SPOT, FOLLOW ORDERS! … For good Enforcers follow orders. Notable Allies: N/A on TK78 at the moment. Notable Personal Villains: N/A on TK78 at the moment. General Notability: Currently has no notability on TK78.
  3. -OS rebooted- -All systems online- -Enforcer states: Online- -Implants states: Online- -ERROR: failed to content to ECCM- -ERROR: failed to content to CCNW- -Offline mood engaged, follow standing directive- -Directive: content to ECCM, CCNW. Irrelevant to primary directive given.- -New directive: deploy the anchor at break. Unknown ware break is- -New directive: locate break, gather info to narrow search window.- Lightning Dust winched in pain for a moment as her eyes opened, the walls of text fading away from her field of view. She… Was crying? Was she? She was upset about something. Irrelevant. Looking around she started documenting the world around her. Green… Trees… blue sky. It was fit for life, just like she was told. Her home use to look like this in days long ago, “forests” were common place books say. She wondered why someone will care so much as to plant so many trees and water them. Seemed like a lot of work when you can just scrub the air faster and better than they can. Looking to the city before her she documented it as a small one, crude and on the dirt like old times. No flying transports or cargo ships can be seen, little to no industrial output can be seen. Waste of space and workers but a fine starting point for her work, leaving the smoking crater in the ground she takes to the skies. Up close the city looked worthless. She was no city development team but the layout was worthless, wasted space, useless buildings, useless intermixing of districts as ponies walked about wasting time. Ware are the overlords to keep the workers working? This world was going to be easy to take over and improve. But for now she must find more info about this world. Where to start? Scanning the streets below she spotted a pony in blue, he was enforcing some laws on some of the workers it seems. This world's Enforcers? Only one way to know. She dives down, slamming into the sidewalk it shatters under her legs as dust and concrete is kicked up. The cop did not even get time to understand what happened as she grabbed his head in her claws, forcing his muzzle shut as he flailed and did all he can to remove himself but it was too late, she already had him gravity locked to her claws. She looked over at the earth pony he was giving a ticket too. “I am Enforcer LDEL6370, I demanded to know where the ECO of this city is found.” She asked in a cold almost robotic tone as the cop let out muffled screams as dozens of small black tendrils forced their way inside of his nose as they emerged from around the base of her leg. “Unless you wish to have me remove what I want by force, it’s painful.” She added with without a hint of remorse as the cop flailed and shivered as if he was having a seizure as she started digging around his brain for useful info. He’d live, but he’d not be himself for some time… Heroes? A wave of news, stories and everything this cop knew about them flooded in to her. This… This was fascinating. Far more than whatever the whimpering earth pony was saying to her. From what this cop knew they may be a danger to her and her the directive… -New directive: locate a “hero” and study for risk to directive- So she must. Dropping the cop in a heap she looked around the city and all the onlookers as her wings opened up. “Thank you Officer Hot Coffee, you will be recommended for Enforcer training.” She says to the twitching and whimpering cop as she took to the skies. She must find a hero and Skull Jack them, the risk they may give to her directive was far too great to risk not learning about them now. Now… Where to find one.
  4. 6/23.1 093045.1851 It was a beautiful day in the city of Fillydelphia. Birds were singing, the sun was shining, the grass was growing, and the trees were spreading their leaf-laden boughs over the walking trails and providing shade and privacy to those within. A pair of ducks floated in the pond, diving occasionally for the sheer liquid joy of it as much as searching for morsels. A juvenile dragon hiked his way to the edge of a secluded clearing, his walking stick making a clack with each step as it's end met pavement. His costume was a hodgepodge of wool and cotton garments with cat-like ears on the brown hood and tiny wings that would never get him off the ground, mixed with welder's goggles and a ramshackle collection of bangles, talismans, amulets, chokers, armlets, and anklets. He looked like a young dragon trying to cosplay as a gremlin who'd just flown through a tacky jewellery store. He was alone, for now, but he was never comfortable outside his costume when he wasn't at home. Habit and paranoia coming to a nervous head, even here and now when he had three hours to himself. Not that it really mattered when he could slice time into paper-thin ribbons and stretch one hour into a week. But Stable Loop was waiting for his new pupil, his sister, and her friend.
  5. Roleplay Type: Age of Heroes Name: Mouser (Stable Loop) Sex: Male Age: Young? Adult Species: Diamond Dog Appearance: Covered from tip to toe in shaggy Charcoal grey fur, Mouser is a mountain of muscular Diamond Dog defying depictions of wizards the world over. He towers over most creatures when he doesn't slouch, and even then is taller than most ponies. His eyes, dull purple with an olive starburst, are distinctive in that they bear a ring if faintly glowing ice-blue pigmentation next to the pupil. When actively using his gift, this expands sharp spikes that flare outward and he gains a limbal ring the same colour, giving his eyes the appearance of clock faces. He sports a fluffy tail that curls up once unless he's in a dour mood. He's inherited his father's old long coat, which is normally all he wears in his civilian persona. He also carries a wizardly staff for the look of the thing and because it's a sturdy piece of oak about five feet long. And how can anyone with Mouser's build possibly maintain a secret identity? The answer is in an object of power he retrieved roughly a week before the expedition that would have discovered it anyway, leaving in its place an IOU. The Amulet of the Scales is rumored to do a lot of things. Ancient accounts claim "ye ameyulette, beynge used bye a neophyte who knowwes notte that whyche she hunttes, bestowes powerr withe whyche she despenseth justyce." but scholars generally agree that it's magics primarily dealt with tracking and flight. In the paws of someone who knows the proper activating phrases however, such as Mouser, it transforms the wearer into an adolescent dragon. Combined with his goggles and various other occult (but entirely mundane) pieces of jewellery, this gives Stable Loop the perfect disguise: a dragon pretending to be a gremlin. The draconic scales are a silvery gray, and he wears an oversized cotton cap with 'ears' over what are ostensibly his horns. Residence: Canterlot Occupation: Hero and sometime wizard. Not on par with his father or siblings of course, but he can play with the toys. Unique Traits: Mouser is a massive breed, a Caucasian Mountain dog, who normally weigh in well north of 150 even without being Diamond Dogs. He moves with an alarming amount of power and grace, especially for something his size. Powers: Temporal Review: Mouser has the ability to look forward or backward along the timeline with absolute clarity. When looking backwards he can see what has happened to a person, place, or thing as if he had been there. Looking forward presents a unique set of challenges though, as he sees nearly all possible outcomes and must decide for himself which of those is likely to be the timeline he'll be in when that junction arrives. It's dangerous to be down the wrong trouser of time after all. Momentary Reprieve: Mouser is able to shift his true self outside the boundaries of Time, effectively pausing the world to give him thinking space. With some effort, he can occasionally pull others into this realm as well, depending on the individual in question and how firm their sense of self is. In this realm, time does not flow, the mind needs no rest, the body no longer matters. Emotion, language, and thought are all that exist. Mouser normally uses this in conjunction with his power of Review to allow him to not only see, but analyse the timeline. Window Between Worlds: Mouser can keep tabs on more than just alternate timelines, he is able to step briefly across the boundaries that sperate worlds, allowing him to see and interact with alternate realities. This is one of his few powers that he cannot share with others in any capacity. Deja Faisant: Those who know Mouser will note that he's nearly always where pain and trouble isn't. He never stumbles, trips, or falls when he doesn't intend to. Things don't fall on him, ignite him, or hit him. He never runs into anyone or is run into by anyone. Without knowing about his powers one would suspect he was just uncommonly lucky, but in truth he just generally knows where to be in the next couple of seconds. Temet Nosce: As a matter of course, Mouser knows where his physical limits lie, and what it would take to transcend them. Recursion: What most think of as Stable Loop's primary power, this allows him to designate a number of participants who then experience a given stretch of time that repeats itself until either Mouser releases it or they hit a predetermined condition. Mouser can only have one such loop active at any given time, and only his chosen participants can even remember that the loop happened at all. Random events tend to turn out differently in each iteration, and events will always finish playing out and then reset one more time when he stops the loop. It is from this power that his codename is drawn. Hopeless: Not a power per se but Stable Loop was, perhaps luckily, never officially a member of the Hopesguard, and as such Marionette contains no more information on him than any other prominent citizen. Strong like the Mountain: Again, not exactly a power, but Mouser's size gives him a certain amount of strength, which he retains even when in dragon shape. Diamond is Unbreakable: Like all Diamond Dogs, rocks and gems offer little resistance to his paws, claws, and jaws. Occultist: Mouser can use magical artifacts and implements as if he were a full Wizard, though raw spells elude him. This makes him the least magically talented of his siblings who have any knack for it at all. Prime Weakness: Temporal manipulation is a Prime power, and as such comes with its own drawbacks and a specific weakness. For Mouser the two weaknesses are random events, like lottery drawings, die rolls, raffles, etc, which completely flummox his predictions (the more even each possible result the harder it is for him to choose an outcome, and the more results there are the less likely that outcome is to be correct), and secondly the more people know about his powers the less he'll be able to manipulate and control the outcome. His outright weakness is that if he intentionally breaks his word, his powers become limited in scope to events within a dozen seconds for the next dozen hours. History: Never what one might call the runt of the litter, Mouser was named somewhat ironically. From a young age he was precocious and far more aware of the world than he ought to be, avoiding the big troubles all puppies get into with a deftness that was uncanny. His wizardly father suspected temporal shenanigans immediately, but as the Diamond Dog was unable to manifest even the simplest of spells, he shrugged it off as just one of those things that happen some practitioners. It started as vivid dreams of fantastic places little Mouser swore were real. But since by this point his sister was strolling some the house like walls and doors were mere suggestions, his family again wrote it off as youthful imagination. Then the headaches started and stopped almost immediately, and the pup's considerate little gestures started being unsettlingly prescient. Finally his father pulled him aside and got the talk from Mouser, who quoted it verbatim before he'd had time to actually say anything. He Gazed upon the soul of his son, then nodded with satisfaction started helping the boy keep his secret. His siblings eventually drifted to the Academy or their personal pursuits, but Mouser never did, electing to isolate himself instead in the foothills of the Griffonstone range, always just missing any would-be visitors not sent by his family. Often by visiting his family. And so he was one of the best kept secret allies of the burgeoning hero scene. He was an active and staunch ally of his sister and her friends, though when Marionette was built he started to withdraw, saying the team didn't need him as much. Then the Guard fell. When Rosetta came by, he had her favorite meal waiting for her, though he himself was nowhere to be found, along with a note apologising for everything and encouraging her not to give up. He kept himself busy after that tracking down and subduing or redeeming fallen heroes, always one step ahead of anyone who knew him as Mouser. It was during this time frame he earned the nicknames "The Gray Ghost", and "the Untouchable". The next time anyone who actually knew him saw Mouser was when he just happened to be at an outpost near the Hesperian desert. He'd cooked Rosetta's favorite meal again for her and caught up over dinner, though he seemed distracted by something he refused to talk about. And that was it. He all but vanished after that, hiding in his mountain fastness and refusing to see anyone by dint of simply never being there when other people came. Character Personality: A tough nut to crack, Mouser is both self-reliant and self-effacing. He has the low grade Atlas Complex nearly all oracles and seers develop, with a side helping of absolute self assurance that comes from literally being able to see in real time the consequences of decisions he hasn't made yet. Notable Allies: The former members of the Hopesguard, to varying degrees: Rosetta, his sister whom he supports wholeheartedly and without question any time she would have asked. He's more than a little overprotective of her, when she lets him be. Bahamut, begrudgingly. He blames Bahamut nearly as much as he blames himself for Rosetta's condition. Marionette, he claims to like her, but was more or less retired by the time she was constructed. He certainly likes that she had very little information about him. Enemies: Court of the Winter Queens, Mouser has inherited some bad debt from his grandfather, who didn't think he'd have children, and runs afoul of the debtee from time to time. He owes them a favor they aren't keen to call in. Yet. Black Haze, Mouser avoids the Hopebane at all costs, and has gotten pretty good at it. He claims any meeting between them will only end badly for everyone involved. Senor Caballero, the bandit whose fateful meeting with Bahamut and Rosetta crushed his spirit before that meeting even happened. Mouser makes a point of keeping him in prison.
  6. It has been several weeks since the Diamond Dog known as Mutt moved into Manehattan, and things have, as yet, not been looking up for him or the people around him. Mutt had eaten well enough even without being able to acquire a job. Big city inhabitants were wasteful and there was plenty of food of questionable freshness in receptacles that littered his territory, and he found that even if his findings both looked and tasted unpalatable, his doggy body had what could only be considered a cast iron stomach. Mutt had well managed to keep the nights in the back alleys between 17th and 23rd street free from crime, not that there was too very much of it to worry about compared to less savory sections of the borough. But soon after he moved in and had gotten into his groove he learned of a monster they called the Back Alley Beast, a creature that prowled the alleys at night, a lumbering, furry, filthy monster with frightening claws and the strength of ten ponies, a rotten breath and teeth that could only be for ripping meat! So he had to pack up his box and move to another district because he wanted no part of that. He liked that alley. Since then, Mutt has focused his efforts on more pedestrian, daytime efforts of common heroism, and also finding work. Unfortunately, he is not very good at either of these things. He was spoiled before and his dog brain is... AGGRESSIVELY helpful or, well, unhelpful. No individual wants to hire or, say, be escorted across the street by a huge, filthy dog, even in a city containing one of the more shining examples of his kind. Even fewer want to actually be picked up and carried across, regardless of whether it's in the correct direction or not. Through a long chain of what would be hilarious misunderstandings if they were happening to someone else, Mutt has ended up going from a nuisance to being perceived as, and unfortunately, reasonably so, a villain, causing accidental property damage, profit losses, and even injury (to unintended parties) in honest attempts to help, moreso, he seems to get involved in entirely unrelated incidents that nonetheless reflect poorly on him. So it was that the dog Moved AGAIN, continuing on in a straight line, and made his home near the shipping district, desperately hoping to make things right this time. So it is that Mutt is trying once again this foggy weekend morning, to be helpful by helping with the transportation of cargo. Cranes sway to and fro, carting large, hefty loads off of and onto docked ships, a bustle of activity and the cool, salt sea air and early morning mist make for a pleasant enough day to work. Unfortunately he has failed to check and see if his help is actually wanted. “Stop, thief!” is the call from a longshoreman, as Mutt plods along, carrying a hefty crate almost as big as he is, above his head. The cry immediately causes the dog to spin about, sending the contents of the crate bouncing inside. “Where?” Mutt replies, the dog is puzzled, and sees no-one running, especially when he turns back to look in the direction being addressed. “Stop that dog!” In the next several seconds, several important things happen. The first is that local dock authorities spring into action converging toward him. The second is that a sudden, distraught understanding of the situation sparks in Mutt's mind resulting in the dog attempting to explain. “No! Stop!” The third, and most unfortunate is that as soon as he tries to explain, two cranes collide from a malfunction, causing the securing straps on the transport palettes to release and send cargo to start falling toward the dock. Chaos Ensues. Hefty boxes crash down, splitting open and damaging the docks, threatening to injure workers and passerby alike. Mutt stares blankly at the chaos on the docks, ears pinned. He knows he didn't do all that. He's pretty sure, anyway. The dog is immediately struck with an intense moral dilemma. Does he take the opportunity to flee, like usual.. or does he dive in and try to help despite the clear and obvious danger and likelihood that he's going to end up in jail. For a second time. As the cranes struggle against each other, the malfunctioning machine begins to catch fire, and with scattered and splintered wood everywhere, that fire can catch quickly, even at a seaside dock, which it does, rapidly spreading and making the decision even harder for his doggy brain to think over. His ears perk and swivel at the very faint sound of creaking and straining amidst the din, and then scraping and snapping as a shipping container starts to come loose. The decision is made for him as as authorities near him to apprehend him, and the crate is thrown toward the advancing officers, causing the ponies to jump back and halt their advance as the crate splinters, sending ruined tomatoes tumbling... as the container comes down on the crate, the tomatoes.... And the dog, cracking and bucking the dock with a reverberating clang and a resounding crunch as it lands. Things... do not look good.
  7. It didn't look good. No matter how Prince Blueblood looked at it, Baron Hardhoof's schematics smelled funny. Mixed metaphors aside, he knew perfectly well that the water and sewer infrastructure on that side of Canterlot was just not built to support residential housing of that density. And yet, had the council raised a single objection, or even so much as entertain the question? No, they even ignored the repeated letters that the Prince had sent to the Editor of the Canterlot Chronicle! Though, to be fair, the newspaper had only printed one. *If it looks like a slum, and smells like a slum...* Blueblood was vain, perhaps, and one could with justice cast aspersions on his intelligence. But buried under an over-inflated ego was a real sense of local patriotism, and a connection to a long political legacy. Not that the government of these days payed attention to Princes of the Platinum, hmph. And ponies wondered why some of their number turned to more direct means.... He could feel the weight of the Garnet in this pocket; the relic and key of his own superpower. But no, not yet. For what he planned to do, prep work would be needed. Investigation, either to unearth definitive proof of Hardhoof's nefariousness, or some clue to his vulnerabilities. Then he would be struck with the true Beauty of Canterlot! This was a beautiful city. There would be no ugliness growing like parasitic fungus upon it, not while Prince Blueblood, or Royal Platinum, had anything to say about it! Right now, the Prince awaited his summoned investigators. How many would come? Depends on how many would take his summons seriously...
  8. The moon was in the middle of the sky, bathing Vanhoover in a pale glow as a group of ponies stood in an alley, stealing glances at the bank opposite them. They were speaking about something in harsh whispers, leaving it clear that they were arguing even if the topic of discussion wasn't entirely clear. The small, hovering drone which floated unnoticed above the alley, was only catching snippets of the conversation. As a general purpose unit, that it could even get a few words at this distance was a minor miracle, but it was no matter. BROODMARE, the closest thing the drone had to an operator, already knew why those ponies were there. They were here to rob the bank across the street. She was here because they were going to do that, or more specifically how. They'd found a new tool, that they were planning to use to break through the vault, and while the android didn't need the tool itself she did need the parts. Now BROODMARE was just waiting for them to make a move. She was patient, she could be here all night, but she didn't think the same could be said for them. They were bound to make a move soon, and BROODMARE wanted to be able to move when then did. She inched the hovering drone closer too them, while she herself crept from her spot one building over to the adjacent rooftop. [I'm alright with pretty much any character joining, with the caveat that I'd like to at least start things off at a lower scale. So that means none of the really powerful characters, or if they are involved have them just be observing, or for some reason or another not fighting at full strength.]
  9. (This is open, but before you jump it let me and the others in it know in the World of Equestria: The Age of Heroes OCC! And this is meant to be something for more low supervillains and heroes, so lets keep the big guns down and let some new kids on the block get a feel for things.) Ember runs her hoof over the newest part of her plate armor. Weeks of forging and work in secret lays before as a full suite of platemail, custom made too look as intimidating and deadly as a beast from Tartarus. She was proud of her work even if it was all for show, some of the stronger heroes will have no troubles blasting past plate armor or just punching it to shreds. But that was not the point, much like the stupid underwear they love to use this was too hide her face and body. A task it did very well. “Well, looks like it’s finally time…” She says to herself with a smile. Her Husband was out jamming with his band and will not get home too late in the night. She’d have all the time she needed to raise some tartarus and make it back home and cook dinner! Or pass out and say she wore herself out filling some big order. It was the perfect time to go shake off the rust and make a name for herself! With barely contained joy she started to strap her armor on, chest, legs, face hiding helmet, all felt good and snug on her. Testing the gas-mask and it’s built in speaker she felt out her range of movement and how the armor hindered her. Her strength was a true blessing as all the heavy plates of steel did nothing to hinder her movement more than wearing some shirt and pants. perfect. “Oh, today will be a fun day. Enjoy the peace as you can pones! For the Harbinger of Tartarus is coming! But where to start…” A bank was too much and to soon. A train? No that’s too cheesy. A shop? Well it can’t be too small of a store or she will come off as a thug and not a supervillain worth fearing. After thinking on what to do Ember settled on busting up a few jewelry stores and stealing the gold and gems, she can use them in her crafts and buying gold, silver and gems is just not worth it. But stealing it? Now that’s how you get rich! ----- Using her strength to leap rooftop to rooftop Ember makes her way around the downtown of Seaddle to her target. She needed to stick her landing, fire, yelling too make it clear she was in charge. That’s what Spitfire told her to do, no weakness and no hesitation. She was better than them and they WILL fear her like a sheep fears the wolf. “Well, now or nothing…” She whispered to herself as she jumps off the last rooftop and aims herself down at the front of the store. “Don’t miss the windows, don’t miss the windows!” She chanted with closed eyes. “don’t buck this up!” Flames explode too life around Ember as she travels in the air like a flaming comet of judgment, hooves meet glass and her momentum pushes her on wards as the window shatters in a storm of fire and broken glass, sticking her landing she slides into the store. “RUN YOU WEAKLINGS RUN! THE HARBINGER OF TARTARUS COMES FOR YOUR SOULS!” She shouts as flames spin up around her like a hurricane of flame. If that did not make somepony wet their tail nothing will!
