1. Swift Squall put aside another document, one of the numerous many that were now laying on his desk. As an owner - and for a time CEO - of three fledgling companies on Equestria southern coast he had to deal with lot of papers. Still if things could be said about noblepony, hard worker was one of them - whatever mentally or physically. Unicorn horn lit up, and he was about to reach for another page when blinding light hit his face. Swift squinted his eyes in displeasure and moved the armchair he was sitting in slightly aside. Now that he was no longer blinded it became obvious what was the source of this interruption. It was the sun, and from the looks of it, it was on the sky for some time already. The branches of the tree that grew just outside the study obscured it until just before now, which would explain why Squall didn't noticed earlier. Unicorn glanced in confusion at the grandfather clock standing under wall left to him. What he saw made his lips twist into displeased frown. Nine A.M. He unintentionally pulled another all-nighter again. It always was like this when Fire was out of Squallcoast Manor. Since Swift returned from the 'dead', his sweetheart could finally officially ditch the barracks in favor of living with him. Her presence, made his previously erratic sleep schedule much more stable and nightmares that previously haunted him almost every night, were now seldom when his love was at his side. No doubt that the former influenced by the fact that - as a mare from a Walker family - she had generations upon generations of practicing this in her blood. Squall own experience with the military loosened to such a point that, as a factor, it was non-existent. Of course Fire was still officer of REA, and from time to time her duties requested her being away. Swift of course understood - he himself was no better, his 'death' being prime example. Although what he did he himself wouldn't call a duty, rather.....a responsibility. Still that probably help from getting a mouthful from his love. After all, from the note he got from her, Squall already knew that her absence ends today. A sudden rumbling in his stomach took unicorn away from his thought. Of course, he was due to eat something by now. But as stood up, and was halfway towards the door from the study, they happened to open, and his butler - Oak Branch - walked in with a breakfast. "Stayed up late again Master Squall?" sad the old servant. It was clear it was question that earth pony already knew the answer for. "You know me Oak." Swift answered, offering no defense. Branch knew him since the cradle, he would see from any half-hearted excuse right away. "Mistress Fire will be upset. I guess her favorite Pint Noir would be in order I guess. Should send for a dinner in Hidden Dragons too. She recently expressed interest in this Long Guo cuisine" butlers mind was already at the task of uplifting crimson pegasus humor. "You already call her Mistress....." swordpony noticed Oak choice of words. "Young Master, when you will live as long as am I you will notice inevitability of certain things." earth pony answered with a smile. "There is no such thing as fate Oak." Squall said, even if he didn't minded at all turn of events that his servant was suggesting. "You always say that Master Squall." "Because it's the truth. The fate or destiny, is nothing more then excuse. One used by those fearing to admit that their actions have consequences. And some beginning lawyers. I outgrew need for both." "Of course Master Squall, you only deal with scarred grizzly veterans, who sit around the fire and tell tales about their gruesome battles in the courtroom." "Har har, very funny." Swift answered in deadpan tone. However his eyebrows rose when he noticed that Oak wasn't quite finished. "There is something else?" "Well, kind of." Branch answered and finally put the plate with a breakfast on the desk. "Mr. Bubble managed to convey to me that we should expect visitor, or maybe visitors even." Conjurer Bubble was previous owner of Squallcoast Manor, and now it's resident friendly ghost. Despite Swift reclaiming his family ancient home after it was in outsiders hooves for so long, Bubble decided to stay and help, instead of passing into whatever afterlife was awaiting him. Fire believed that Bubble may not be an actually ghost, but some magical guardian that took late pony mannerism and characteristics in some way. Swift didn't shared that belief but regardless of what he was, Bubble proved very useful and brought some 'life' in otherwise empty massive mansion. Despite being mute, Conjurer managed to communicate by using his still remaining, enormous talent in illusion to create real life rebuses. "Visitors? We never get visitors. We so out of the way that not even solicitors bother." It was true. Squallcoast Manor was so huge, and manor grounds so large that it was outside a city proper, on the cliff-side that slowly shifted towards the expanse of the Strand. While the view outside the windows were stunning - towards the sea on one side, unobscured grasslands from other and the back, and finally Fillydelphia and Manebrush River down below. Of course that also meant that it was much, much more time saving for Squall to call air taxi then walk to the city, shopping had to be done in a bulk and with hired help to bring it back home and postponies loathed when the had to visit with mail or the package. "Alright, fine. Did he...errr said what kind of visits that could be? I swear to Harmony, if that would be ninjas again I will lose my patience." despite Squall rebuke of fate, he knew better then dispute with Bubble's predictions. If something happened or was about to happened on Manor grounds, than he would know it. Ghost thing apparently. "I afraid not." "Well at least he forewarn about that much. I need to finish this quickly." unicorn glanced at his meal "And probably put on something neutral. Knowing things someone could be knocking at the front door any minute now....."
2. It was a late afternoon and the sun was still blazing strong in the sky, a young mare walks out of a restaurant wiping a morning's worth of sweat off her brow. "I'll see you all tomorrow morning! Bright and early!" she called into the establishment. The door shut behind her and she trotted along the sidewalk hearing "Seeya later BlindJester" on the wind. This made BlindJester smile inwards cause she knows she did a job well done as a waitress today, like she does any day for that matter. Her wings were spread out feeling the hustle and bustle of the city streets as she tried to figure out where to go now that she's off. Maybe to the bakery? The theater? Maybe the pool? It should be in season for it to be open she thought, but then shook her head and decided to head towards the park. The birds there love to sing all day long and Blindy loved to hear it. She likes to imagine what each bird looks like in her mind and this makes her giggle to herself. She continued to trot down the street, wings extended still and feeling for the mental marker she leaves herself to head towards to park. She wonders if she'll meet anypony on her way to her favorite hang out spot. Giddy with the thought she start to skip and hum happily to herself.
3. If you were to ask Muggo' Ale why he decided to host a speed dating event at his bar, he'd give a very simple answer: "Just 'cause." So, when he closed the bar down for the general public that evening, he quickly cleaned up and reset it for speed dating. From the outside, the bar was 2 and a half storeys tall, with the half storey being brick at the bottom and windows that revealed the lower level. On the main floor, it was an average pub. A long bar stretched on the opposite side of the windows and door, and booths were spread across the walls of the room. He'd hung a sign, for the first time in a while, on a set of stairs to the left (facing the door) of the bar: "Downstairs - Darts, Karaoke, Pool Tables". Down below, it was an opened area. A few tables and chairs dotted the basement, but it was mostly home to the dartboard, stage, and ancient arcanotech karaoke machine. A place for a more quiet speed date, or to continue one with a friendly round of darts. The green earth stallion went to the door, turned the sign around to "Open", and opened the door, looking down the steps at the waiting crowd. "How's ya gettin' on? C'mon in!" he said brightly, stepping inside and heading for the bar. [Muggo's Profile contains a Minecraft build of his bar, for those interested.]
4. ((OOC Note - OOC Discussion thread is here)) Cheerilee was so excited! One of her favorite perks of being a schoolteacher, adventure and an opportunity to teach and travel all rolled into one, was the field trip! And she loved travel as much as she enjoyed teaching, never going anywhere outside of Ponyville without her trusty camera currently strapped around the magenta mare's neck. This field trip was to show the younger foals of her class all about the profession of farming. Most ponies knew a farmer or two, especially in such a small town as Ponyville, but very few of the younglings knew what happened behind the scenes at a farm unless they grew up on one, like young Applebloom. The original idea had even been to take the foals to Applebloom's home, Sweet Apple Acres, but the large farm was always so busy and didn't have the spare time to give an all-day tour - and besides, sometimes the young foals learned best when they were visiting someplace that wasn't so familiar that they'd stopped seeing it! Fortunately, Applebloom's older sister, Applejack, had an alternative - her cousin's much smaller farm outside of Fillydelphia. So several letters back and forth, the flurry of permission slips, and an uneventful train ride later, here was the small farm AJ had arranged for them to visit: Tiny Apple Valley. The farm lived up to its name - far, far smaller than Sweet Apple Acres, but no less as picturesque and charming, nestled away into its little valley with its colorful apple trees and a few small chicken coops, with the main barn standing over it all. A pony emerged from the barn doors, walking their direction, and she hoped this would be AJ's cousin Apple Bumpkin, proprietor of the farm. Before the farm pony could reach them, Cheerilee turned to give one last bit of guidance to her class - larger than usual, with several foals from other areas of Equestria coming along on the multi-school trip. "Here we are colts and fillies! Now, be sure to stay on your best behavior, it was very kind of Miss Apple Bumpkin to allow us on her farm, and we need to remember to be respectful and courteous! And pay attention - remember that you all will have to write a paper about what you learned here this weekend for homework." She could hear the groans already, but it was an education trip and she was determined they would come away a little bit wiser. Now, all she could hope was that the class would at least stay… somewhat orderly and not get into too much mischief.
5. It was warm spring morning in City of Sibling Love. Swift Squall - unofficial Count of Fillydelphia - was lounging at the hammock in impressive garden situated at the back of his uphill manor. The last two weeks proved to be uneventful. There were no serious crimes in the city at the moment, most of his friends were now busy and he himself didn't have any plans for the while. In short. Swift Squall was bored. Now that he finished his morning training routine, unicorn just stared in the sky trying to figure out some kind of activity he can get himself busy with. He really disliked doing noting...maybe some kind of tip out of city would be good idea? "Adventure" he muttered to himself.
6. Tiny Apple Valley was splendid this time of year with bare trees, the first pangs of snow dotting the landscape and covering the trees signalling that of all things baking season was upon them. All the apples had been bucked and sorted and as they started to slowly spoil in the storage, they would be left with only those for for baking. Bumpkin would have fun with that, but that told Caramel that she was about to deal with a whole host of transportation troubles that only seemed to hammer away this time of year. They were far more fragile than apples, which made her regret how well the farms had done this year in harvest. Oh well. This was the farm life, love it or leave and while she didn't necessarily love it like other members of her family, she felt the same stirring in her blood and this translated into her unique position as the main book keeper and transportation wiz. That stirring was stupid and was going to lead her into a whole mess of trouble and work this season. Better to get everything even momentarily entertaining out of the way so she could spend the coming months engrossed in work and being generally a miserable little pony. What better way to spend her last moments of tolerable personality than with her coltfriend? Muggo' Ale had proven himself an entertaining stallion and in all honesty that's what she wanted out of a coltfriend at this stage in her life. She didn't need some silly sod or a completely serious stallion, just a stallion with priorities, a job, and a sense of humor. Muggo' Ale passed that test with flying colors and that was why he was invited to the farm for another date. Caramel was ready, mane cleaned well for the first time all week and her tail significantly poofed. All she had to do was wait for him to show as the sun started to fall over the cityscape. "Bumpkin dear, are you ready?" Caramel yelled as she checked herself in the mirror once more, hoping that Bumpkin's nervous energfy that had been exploding all over the place like out of control unicorn magic was going to be corraled at some point. What had gotten into her? Almost as she thought it, Caramel rolled her eyes. Her sister was defined by that zany energy.
7. Being an Earth pony sucked. Not only that, being small sucked! Dodger was growing into quite the handsome young colt—not only that, but he was a Unicorn. Being a thief came easily and naturally to him. He hardly had to try. There was Black Jack, too—he had a number of talents. Black Jack could draw, beautiful sketches that the ponies in Fillydelphia admired. Jack could sell those for bits, and make an honest living. Not to mention, Black Jack could leave Fillydelphia entirely, see the world, go where he wanted... and he didn't have to live on a vegetarian diet like ponies did. He could leave, hunt, and come back—he didn't even need money. Terrence was an Earth pony as well, but he was special. He didn't have to work hard like the rest of them did. He just had to sit and look pitiful, what a lousy cheat. Then there was Pippin. Dodger doted on him, for one thing. And another was that he was a Pegasus, able to fly away and to travel much like Black Jack could. It just wasn't fair! Scout had no special talent, no wings or horn, no missing limb to make her plight seem terrible and unfair. Scout was just an Earth pony. A boring, not special Earth pony. There was nothing special about Earth ponies—no special talents, no skills. Scout was going to live her life as a second-rate thief forever. And she knew that, all too well. Scout's stomach rumbled... it was past dinner time, and she'd had no luck in pilfering a meal yet today. It was the middle of the week, a time when ponies went to work or school, and then home after that, rarely stopping to shop. On the weekends, the streets were filled with ponies bustling everywhere, but today had been rather slow. The sun was beginning to set, and Scout had resigned herself to going to bed hungry, when the chance presented itself. Somepony was bringing in his produce for the night. During the day, he'd be moving about the store and continually checking outside, to be sure that nopony was taking anything. But, after a hard day's work, one could get a little careless. She watched as the Unicorn carried each crate of vegetables or fruit inside, one at a time, leaving the rest unattended while his back was turned. There were very few ponies out now, and so the grocery store owner hadn't noticed the little filly watching him. Scout inched closer, careful not to draw attention to herself. And then, as he went inside again, she sprung forward, her heart pounding as she reached the crates. She grabbed a few carrots in her mouth, stuffing them into the book bag she always carried with her. A container of strawberries, a couple apples, and a bag of grapes. Scout had taken far too much time, she knew, and scurried around a corner into an alley way as the owner was walking out. She tried to control her breathing, so she wouldn't be discovered. But she heard a crate scrape against the ground, before there was silence again. Turning, she realized that he'd gone back inside—he'd noticed nothing amiss. She breathed a sigh, congratulating herself on her 'catch'. Not too bad, considering her failure of earlier. Scout hurried off, somewhere else where she wouldn't look so suspicious. She found a nice spot in the park, sitting down on a bench and setting her pack next to her while she began to tuck into one of the carrots.
8. It was snowy morning in The City of Sibling Love. Blizzard raged just outside of the Northtown part of the city, making already cold day even more unpleasant. The single coach slowly made its way towards Manor situated on nearby hill. Single brown pony walked out off the vehicle, opened the massive steel gate that guarded the mansion grounds and started walking towards the building. Fortunately the road leading to it was not so slippery anymore. It seems that Young Master took the care off it...with some help. The Mansion itself was not so scary as it used to be just six months ago. New wooden walls were bright and the roof was now red as fresh apple. Brow pony looked in his pockets and pulled out the key which he used to open the door. "I am back Young Master." said the Oak Branch - for it was him - when he freed himself from winter coat. "Finaly Branch! What took you so long? I was getting worried that you lost yourself in this blizzard. We are in the lounge right now." 'Young Master' answered from the few rooms away. Oak Branch followed this voice. The inside off the masion were unrecognizable from its ruined state. Floors, walls, furniture - all off that was replaced. Now the inside were filled with brightness from magical lamps and classy stuff. In the lounge Swift Squall along with the Conjurer Bubble - formerly ghost and mansion previous 'owner', now house Guardian Spirit - made some Hearth's Warming Eve preparations. "You was out all night. What happened Oak?" Old butler didn't answer at first. He instead inspected the cnages that unicorn and spirit made in the room. Glass ball ornaments, wreath, candles along with socks over the fireplace - all this items decorated lounge now. Oak Branch was sure that Young Master took care off some other rooms already. "Aren't that...little early Young Master." "We will spent our first Hearth's Warming Eve alone Oak. And don't change the subject Branch. What happened?" "He will skip dinner today." thought the old butler. "Well?" Swift reapeted impatiently. Earth Pony sighted "Museum of Fillydelphia was robbed." "What? You joking?....No, of course you not...What was stolen?" "I have no idea Young Master. The REA called for reinforcements from Stalliongrad. It seems serious. I don't know if they would accept civilian hel..." butler started but Squall wasn't even in the room anymore. "Oak Branch, I am leaving. They will need all help available. Maybe it's some syndicates doing? Neverthless I am going in." "Oh dear..." "Oh and I will skip dinner today. Don't worry if I don't come back for day or two." Swift continued as he pulled some heavy winter coat with fur collar on sleeveless jacket that was already on his body. "Later...!" quick farewell was heard before the door slamed. "....I better prepare some bandages" said Oak Branch and Bubble nodded in agreement.
9. The Museum of Fillydelphia was robbed! Some valuable and dangerous artifacts was stolen from Magic Exhibition and both REA and REIN are helpless! Strange and unpredicitble magic of this three items can couse a great mayhem, and even worse - Hearth's Warming Eve is coming in just two days! The snow is falling and clock is ticking. Can the artifacts be found on time and would culprit will be bringed to justice before Hearth's Warming Eve is ruined?! Just as stated above. I am looking for those who thirst for some action packed and at the same time friendly adventure in city setting (think Jackie Chan movies) combined with some investigation. 10. ”Fight's a fight.” Dodger shrugged off Ardent's comment. Back to her old high and mighty self in the face of an apparent 'true' hero. But he had to agree with the other brown Unicorn—who's name he realized he hadn't gotten—the street wasn't the best place to do brawling of any sort, seeing as the local guards would soon break it up, and perhaps arrest any parties they caught. Although, this seemed like it was going to be a bit more professional. Park eh? Sure, sure, lots of room to move about... lots of unsuspecting folks with picnic baskets and purses. Any sort of fight, civil or not, was bound to attract attention. He inwardly smiled, holding a well practiced 'poker face' on the outside. “Ya, thasa place! Lots of open grass, and maybe even a few spectators.” He winked at Ardent.
11. Pieces of the landscape flashed trought the windows as train from Manehattan moved towards Fillydelphia. Swift Squall was engulfed deep in his thoughts. Paying visit to Mother was nice, even if his father - sadly - was at the business trip at the Roam at the time. Home...actually it was his parents place, he himself didn't lived with them for many years. Yet even when he resided in Stalliograd he couldn't say that his apartament there felt like home. He hoped that it will be different with him moving to Fillydelphia - especially considering the connection his family had with the mansion he bought...or maybe it would be appropriate to say 'rebought'? "I can't count on hope alone.." he said aloud. That was true...he must work harder to make the better results then in the Jewel of the North. The Army there was rather strict - harsh ponies from the harsh land...or maybe...it was him being the problem? Swift used to think that keeping the unemotinal attitude will make others more trusting. While he wasn't proved wrong that wasn't confirmed either. Trying other approch could't hurt, right? Squall sighted heavily - he was thinking too much. His horn flashed with emerald aura when he pulled his sword from his carry-on baggage. "What do you think Yaohm? Will we be more lucky there?" stallion asked his blade. It was habit he developed in Unyasi. His horn lit up once more when conservation suite followed the weapon. He was so focused at polihing his blade that he did not notice when the train stopped. The sudden bump that run trought the machine brought him back to reality however. He quickly took glimpse at the outside. "Ah, they adding cars from Canterlot"Swift muttered to himself and he realised that he was halfway there.
12. At the Fillydelphia train station, Mojo, the Paint stallion with the peace sign cutie mark, stood pacing back and forth as his friends Jubilee and Starflower watched. "C'mon Modge, I gotta stop pacing!" the petite yellow maned Pegasus mare neighed. "Watchin' you pace is making ME tired!" "I must agree with Jubilee," added the taller purple unicorn mare. "As a nurse, I must say all this nervous energy is not very healthy for you." "Sorry bout this, gals, but it's not every day me own sister's comin' to join us!" Mojo shouted in an uncharactistic show of panic. "Is me mane combed straight? Should I've worn me dress shoes?" "You look fine, Mojo. In all the time I've known you, you never once mentioned having a sister." added Starflower. "Stella's special," Jubilee explained, "Mojo's parents adopted her when she was a foal. Ol' Modge helped to raise her. She really looked up to him when the two were growing up. Stella was sad to see Mojo set out with his peddler's wagon, but now that she's old enough, she's coming to help him with his selling." "That's right, Wings. I sure hope I can still be a good big brother to her. Life on the road can be rough sometimes." the brown and white stallion sighed. "Don't worry, I'll be here to help you," added Starflower. "ME TOO!" squealed Jubilee, "she and I are almost the same age!" "Dash it all, where's that bloody train?" Mojo yelled, hitting his head against the train station wall, causing a mailbag to fall from it's hook and land on top of him. "MOJO!" the two mares shouted before the Paint stallion poked his head through the pile of mail around him. "Oh well, no use cryin' over spilled mail, right?" "At least you're not nervous anymore," Starflower giggled as her horn glowed, her levitation magic working to place all the fallen mail back into the sack.
13. Gray Lexis sat as his desk inside his untidy, overstuffed bookshop, a bored look on his face. For all the countless books around him in his vast collection, nothing was really grabbing his interest just yet. In all the thousands of books he had, there wasn't one he hadn't yet read, and he was running low on ones that would be particularly compelling to read again. This troubling situation called for extreme measures for the part time author, part time adventurer and full time eccentric. He needed to plot a new adventure. It had been quite some time since the last. A good spell in the field would do wonders to cure the old stallion's boredom. Perhaps he would find some new books? Or maybe he'd be inspired to write another himself? Maybe he'd find a nice younger mare or a general good time? Maybe he'd just find something great he'd never seen before? That alone could be worth it. Regardless, whatever he did find in going, it was about time he went somewhere. But where would he go? Another trip to Las Pegasus, though fun, would hardly be called an adventure at this point. To the far north maybe, to see the Badlands and what was beyond them? Down to the south to explore the wilds of Unyasi where the zebra roam? There were so many options, it would take a while to plan. He'd need something to do in the meantime... "Spirit Flame!" he called out, back into the shop. The sleepy eyed filly, almost ghost-like in appearance with hew wispy white mane, stepped forward from between tall stacks of books. Gray had found Spirit on an earlier adventure; she was a filly brought up in the wilds of the Everfree Forest, away from pony society. Since finding her, Gray had been focused on teaching her all he could. As the years passed, the filly learned well and he grew fond of her, coming to think of her almost as a daughter. She also served him well as his most trusted (and only) assistant. "Yes, Mr. Gray?" Spirit started, as she moved toward her beloved teacher, tilting her head. "Open up the shop! Let the customers in!" Gray said in an excited voice. Customers were what he needed to fill the time until he had a plan drawn up for the next adventure. Who knows, maybe the exact sort of book he was looking to read would arrive right on his doorstop without him having to go anywhere. "Customers?" Spirit spoke, shaking her head. "But there never are any... whenever you open the shop, nopony ever comes..." "Ah, but my dear Spirit! Just because the number of customer's we've served in the past is so very small it can hardly be measured does not mean today won't be the day that fate guides just the right pony through my door!" Gray said. It was a rarity they let customers in. Though his collection was more or less setup as a bookshop, Gray loathed to part with his books, all of which were quite rare and valuable, so the shop generally stayed closed off except in a rare case like now where the old stallion actually wanted to deal with customers. "But that will never happen if the shop remains closed!" "Okay, Mr. Gray." Spirit said with a nod. She opened the door and flipped the sign for the shop to the open side, glancing it over as she did: Gray Lexis' Wondrous Archive of Recherché Tomes: We BUY and on very rare occasion, if we feel like it and you have a lot of money to spend SELL books of: rarity, worth, significance, obscurity, exiguity, oddity, unconventionality, exoticness and intrigue. Please do not waste our time or yours with common, ordinary, everyday books you could find anywhere, we have zero use for them here. Now Open Gray nodded as the filly returned. Customers would surely respond better to this sign then the last, which had said similar things but had been twice as long and a single consistent font. Gray hoped so, at the very least.
14. Bass had only just arrived, and had failed miserably at making small talk, when he heard a voice from behind him. He looked, and saw the pink earth pony who had just arrived. He listened nervously as she spoke, and replied, his own nervousness staining his words. "Oh, um… hi. Yeah, I don't work here. I uh… just stopped in to uh… see what was here, now. I'm Deep Bass, by the way. Bass for short."
15. Apricot was already shivering by the time he stepped foot in the cafe, from his ears to his hooves, he was the very epitome of 'wet', his mane was flattened against his fur, heavily dripping with rain water and making a fine trail of large puddles on the floor with Dunder trailing right behind him. But that was the LEAST of Apricot's problems, he didn't mind getting wet, yeah... actually he had a bit of fun in getting himself drenched but getting wet AND dirty whilst wearing his Uniform? Not so much. Looking down to his uniform, the Stallion could only groan as Dunder was a bit 'busy' calming down the manager, and poke and prod at the mud stains that decorated the once white fabric that was so comfortably snug around his hooves and went so well with his black vest. Feeling it 'squish' beneath his hoof and into his chest, Apricot made a face and stuck his tongue out in disgust. "NOW. Me and Apricot are going to go to the back and clean up, and get back to work. Does that sound good? Quickly following Dunder into the locker room, Apricot shivered as his mind was brought back to how cold he was from the rain. Spreading out his legs, Apricot braced his hooves against the ground and began to shake, his mane tossing this way and that as droplets of water began flying in every direction as he tried to dry himself off. Grabbing a towel from his own locker a good minute later, he stuffed his face into the soft fabric, sighing in delight at the feel of it before moving on to wiping down his soaked fur. "Heyh, Duhndher.." He spoke up with a mouthful of towel. "Dho yoo knowh ahny goohd lauhnderhersh in Cloudshdale...?" Pointing to his ruined uniform, the Earth Pony began to slowly peel it off of himself whilst nudging his locker open a little wider with a hoof to show an extra uniform that hung within.
16. Mane Event's Traveling Wrestlepalooza... a feast for the eyes and the ears, hosted by the namesake himself, Mane Event. Traveling from town to town, he performs feats of strength to the awe of the crowd and demonstrate his toughness by taking on challengers in the ring. At a first glance, one might take this as a seemingly innocent and well meaning performer... but the ugly truth, was that the show was nothing more than a front for the insatiable ego of Mane Event. He didn't care about the enjoyment of the crowd... he only cared for one thing. To deliver a clear and simple message. It was all about "M.E."... Mane Event. The strongest... the fastest... the best Equestria had to offer. -------------------- Mane Event had done it yet again... he had reigned supreme over yet another pony. Standing above the fallen foe, he raised a hoof in victory, smirking all the while. He was smugly proud of himself... but a part of him felt unsatisfied. It was almost too easy. The fans in attendance weren't applauding as one might expect... they were booing... and who could blame them? Not only did he just demolish a pony in an unsportsmanlike manner... but he'd spent the previous ten minutes berating Fillydelphia and the fans in attendance to boot. M.E, the egomaniac that he was, didn't seem to register the booing for him. In his mind, they were booing the effort of his weak opponent. Mane Event decided to give the fans what they wanted... at least in his mind. He raised a hoof, silencing the crowd... and shouted for all to hear. "Fillydelphia... mark this day on your calendar and hold on to your ticket stubs, so you can tell your grandkids where you were and what you were doing on this day... because I'm about to make a once in a lifetime announcement! Normally, I only take on and defeat one chump from the crowd... but for one time and one time only, I'm going to lay down the gauntlet... and take on ANOTHER pony! That's right... without pause for breath and with as beaten and battered as my body is... I'm going to take it to another pony! So who's it gonna be? Don't be a coward! Put your skills to the test against a REAL stallion!" Mane Event surveyed the crowd who surrounded the ring. A mix of fearful and angry eyes stared back at him. Mane Event claiming to be beaten and battered was a clear lie... the pony he'd faced had never even laid so much as a hoof on M.E, before the stocky stallion had steam rolled over him. "Is there no pony else who thinks they have what it takes to take me on? No pony at all? I'm sorry... I thought I was in Central Park... it turns out I must have made a wrong turn, and wound up at at a nursery... because all I see are a bunch of babies!" Mane Event sucked on his hoof, mocking the crowd. "Oh, pwease don't let the devilishly handsome and oh so strong Mane Event get me Mommy!" mocked M.E. in a childlike voice. "I can't help dat I'm a baby who still shweeps with his blanky and needs a nighty wighty! D'awww! The fact that I'm also a gwown stallion is especially embawasing!" Boos... and lots of 'em. It all went in one ear and out the other for Mane Event, as he began to get frustrated with the lack of another challenger. "Fine, nopony wants to step up? Then I'm done! The show is over! And you know what the best part about the show being over is here in Fillydelphia?" "Does it mean you're gonna shut up?" shouted a voice in the audience as everypony laughed. "Who said that?!" shouted M.E, caught off guard. If there's one thing he hated... it was being made a fool of. "No, smarty pants. The best part about the show being over here in Fillydelphia is that I'm that much closer to leaving Fillydelphia! Good night everybaby!" Mane Event bowed, as ponies continued to boo, some even throwing garbage into the ring. Mane Event ignored it, as he stepped through the ropes and headed up the ramp, into his tent. He waited it out in the tent, until it seemed like the crowd of ponies had dispersed. One could say he was waiting for everypony to leave, because he was scared of the backlash he'd get. In Mane Event's mind... he just didn't wanna be mobbed by his adoring public. Some time later, Mane Event decided to head downtown and pick up supplies for his trip to the next town of ponies he'd leave in shock and awe. As he left the tent, he felt like he was being watched. "A challenger not wanting to be embarrassed in front of a crowd?" Mane Event thought. He trotted along the street as he felt the prescence follow him. It was really starting to get on his nerves. In a flash, he spun around and raised his hooves in preparation for battle. "Ah-HA!" he shouted, attempting to catch the stalker off guard.
17. OoC: Room for perhaps three more than myself and Doc Hoof MD Starscape Quill didn't think she was a workaholic at all. But still, the friends she ran her observatory with had marched her out of the observatory to a waiting coach with packed saddlebags of clothes and other necessities, enough bits to last her a good while away and her favourite small folding telescope, not to mention putting her sunglasses on and her favourite hat. "'Take a break, Starscape. You've been working too long without taking a holiday.' " She snorted at the remembered words as she winged her way along the countryside near to Fillydelphia. Her work wasn't 'work', to her. She loved it. The stars and the night sky were amazing. She grudgingly had to admit, though, that the break had done her some good. The last three days had been very nice, and the very nice mare who ran the very small hotel she was staying at was very nice to the gangling, awkward and more than a little strange Starscape. Starscape looked at the horizon and noted how low the sun was in the sky. Winter days were not very long, and hadn't she promised...? Starscape started and few closer to the ground. She had promised the nice mare that she would sit down with her and share a cup of tea - apparently she knew Starscape's mother, or uncle, or aunt. Starscape hadn't remembered which one it was, but she liked her nonetheless. She veered past some trees and past a small outcropping of rock, in thought. She might just make it back in time if she flew really fast, and the cold was starting to get to her a little- Something appeared right in her vision and she saw stars a moment before things went black. The next thing she knew, it was night time, she was lying in a pile of tangled limbs on the ground in front of a tree, her right wing hurt terribly, and everything was swimming slightly. She shook her head and regretted it immediately, rubbing at her head. She righted herself and stood on shaky legs, sitting back down straight away before they gave out. "Ugh. Ouch." She muttered and looked herself over. Her legs were fine, though she wasn't sure she could walk very far, and while her head felt like somepony had hit it really hard, there didn't appear to be anything too wrong. Her saddlebags seemed fine, though some things were scattered around, having fallen out. Walking wouldn't be a problem as long as she could flap... her... wings... Hmm. Starscape looked to her right and found her wing trapped somehow beneath a large and heavy branch, and on top of a large flat stone. She stared at it a moment. How in Celestia's name had she not noticed it before? Tried pulling her wing out from under it "Ow!" She shouted as pain lanced through it. She tried pushing the branch off, but couldn't summon the strength, nor would the branch budge if she tried to kick it, which only worsened the pain. And it was starting to get a little cold, thoug she did have a cloak in her bag at least. Starscape wiped the tears of pain from her face and took a deep breath, shouting. "Help!"
18. ((This is a continuation of "Bobbing for Fun" during the Harvest Spooktacular event.)) http://www.canterlot.com/topic/3720-bobbing-for-fun-open-to-all/ Applejack blushed too. She hadn't expected any romantic displays to come from such a childish party game, but as long as they were having fun, she didn't really mind. However, she knew that Snails probably thought it was pretty gross--if he wasn't too oblivious to notice, that is. "Good job, Snails! You can pick a candy apple of your choice too!" Still, talking to Snails, Applejack gestured towards Martini, "But wait for Mr.- uh, I mean, Mrs. Capony to pick hers first." With a heavy wink, Applejack assumed that two ponies with this much love to share could only be engaged with one another. Applejack then wondered if they had ever planned on having the wedding in Ponyville, and if they did, if her newly refurbished barn and the large rustic yard that surrounds it would be a suitable for a couple ponies who seem to have a little adventurous tastes. For the moment, though, Applejack kept the thought to herself.
19. Fillydelphia. Easy on the eye, I suppose, an innocent pony might even call it a haven before the wilds of the untamed desert. Unsuspecting, the city rests on the last jut of green plains before the grand expanse of the Leading Ocean, the last true marker of the Equestria's civilised lands. Shame really, to ruin the illusion. But where ever you go, no matter how peaceful and wholesome things may seem, there's always a secret. There's always a crime. A pony's just got to know where to look. A dark alley. Cliche but true. This is the kind'a place. Sickly iridescence from guttering street lamps paints the scene in a tableau of deep shadows and greyscale walkways. An hour normally reserved for a 'special' kind of street life chimes on a distant clock tower, whose face looked down upon a city of both virtue and sin. Through this noir oil canvas drifts the scent of fresh rain, musty hay and rhubarb smoke. And the sound of shattering glass. There's always a story. In some ways i's never stopped being told, but this is where we pick up from. -- 'Everypony has their price, what was yours?' Betrayal. The words came back first, her words, deadened sound filtering through the fog in her head. Nothing felt right. Tingly needles ran down her legs and wings as the world swam in a pool of sluggish inebriety. Hot breath on the back of her neck laced with cooling tears falling through her mane. Rhythm akin to a pounding heartbeat filled the remaining space, leaving only the gradually crystallising moment. Limbs numb from a hard sprung mattress, a swamping soft embrace of bed sheets filling her watery reality with an intrusive pressure. Congealed senses piled up in vivid strata, floating through her cotton wool thoughts. Through the humid gloom a voice, familiar in nuance and passion, spoke an undeniable answer. "...Cherry. I'm so sorry." Instinct. A snap of hooves against flesh, the window filled her clouded vision. Prismatic shards fell with her tumbling form, wings unresponsive as livid pain cut through the hazy vale of drug addled existence. Adrenaline rushed in to fill the space left by the relieved pressure, the street below meeting her side on and shaking the breath from her burning lungs. Nothing felt right. "WAIT! DON'T-" Voices. Loud, angry voices from high above cut through the pain and revealed the darkened ally into which she had fallen. Light sprang into focus, spilling across the red brick that framed the bridleway beyond. Shaking and aching legs lifted the Pegasus up against the rough wall as she tride to make sense of her surroundings. Someway behind her a door was flung open. From its arch a thin needle of brilliance lanced into the darkness, strobing briefly as winged figures stepped through the aperture. Operating on some lower level of consciousness, she broke into a haphazard gallop, heading into the street. Breath catching in her dry throat and fog crawling across her panicked vision, Cherry ran, the wings of her pursuers beating close behind. Warm lights of business and late night venues flooded the street far ahead. But here only the dim lamp light lit the avenue, and the burst of strength that had propelled her thus far was slipping away with every laboured step. The wings bore down upon her. A stifled shriek escaped the mulberry Pegasus as she felt the strike of hooves against her flank and keeled uncontrollably into the side of the street. Skittering away from the assailant, the young pony looked up at the two heavy set shapes that alighted on either side of her fallen form. Still she tried to escape, unable to stand and simply pulling herself away from the shadows. “Come on kid, don't do this." She couldn't do this. "There ain't no where to run no more." There was nowhere to run.
20. (ooc): This is a continuation of the Lakes RP "Get Up, Stand Up" although anyone is welcome to join in! A brown peddler's wagon reaching the outer gate of Fillydelphia, pulled by an unlikely pony team. One is a Paint stallion with a peace sign cutie mark named Mojo. The other is a taller, older light blue unicorn mare nurse named Starflower. In the 'front seat' of the wagon looking down on the pony team are two young Pegasi. The petite blond white Pegasus named Jubilee and the other, a light pink Pegasus named Whirlwind who the trio saved in a field the previous night and were now riding into town. "Here we are ladies, Fillydelphia! The city of brotherly love!" Mojo neighed. "Hey, you two alright up there?" Starflower asked as she craned her head upward looking back at them. "We're fine, Star!" Jubilee shouted down. "What do you think of the big city, Whirlwind?"
21. The Strand (G.E. South) The southern coast of Equestria's main continent is framed by its famous white-sand beaches and dotted with fishing hamlets. Here the great open prairie and breadbasket known as the Saddleveil Plains lies dotted with splendid cities such as Fillydelphia, and Hoofington. Celestia's domain spreads even further south with the various exotic tropical Gallopocus Islands that extend almost to the lands of the Zebras. Cities of the Strand Fillydelphia - Sitting in the middle of the vast Saddleveil Plain, the city is a transport hub between the Heartland of Equestria and the Griffon lands beyond, Fillydelphia is a mid-sized urban area populated by artisans, small business, and light industry workers. With its old fashioned look and feel, Fillydelphia occupies a comfortable middle ground between the big-city bustle of Manehattan and the small-town charm of Ponyville. Baltimare - One of Equestria's preeminent ports, the affluent city of Baltimare is regarded as a major center of trade with Unyasi and the Gallopocus Islands. Tourists come to the city to board luxury cruise liners and see the famous Baltimare Boardtrot. Corralwood Corral - Equestria's ultimate tropical resort, Corralwood Corral is the most significant center of population in the Gallopocus Islands. Famous for its perfect beaches and upscale resorts, Corralwood Corral is well regarded as a prime spot for tourists. Major Natural Features Saddleveil Plains – A vast, rolling temperate grasslands punctuated by small islands of deciduous trees, the Saddleveil Plains stretches the entire length of the Strand. Most of the land is fertile and well watered, making it ideal for agriculture with all manner of farms spouting from the nearly featureless landscape. West of the Manebrush river, the plains become drier and are much better suited for grazing; many buffalo tribe wander this otherwise very sparely populated portion. Gallopocus Islands - A large grouping of islands several miles off the coast of the mainland, the Gallopocus are dominated by mountains, the greatest of which is the now extinct Thunderhoof Volcano. Hardened lava and black sand beaches play host to a wide variety of tropical flora and fauna, while small pony and hippogriff settlements adorn the coast of the various islands, the largest of which is Corralwood Corral, which serves as the central trade hub and tourist playground for the island chain. Mustangia - An open prairie that holds the richest soil in all of Equestria. Here the ponies choose to live simple lives eschewing cities and modern amenities instead deciding to be farmers or simple individuals who live entirely in tune with the wild. Okeanos - An ancient city lost to a devastating storm and submerged beneath the ocean, Okeanos is said to be full of mysteries. Adventurous ponies are known to seek the city out in hopes of unearthing its secrets. Other geographical features The coast of the Strand is punctuated by various bays. The largest of all of Equestria's bays, the Seasaddle, sits just north of the Gallopocus Islands. Known for its abundant warm, clean water and rich fisheries, Seasaddle is also the busiest body of water in all of Equestria. In addition to the largest, Seasaddle, there is also the much quieter Suntrot Bay, as well as the White Cafe Bay, the outwash for the large Manebrush River that services Fillydelphia. One of the most scenic locations in this coastal region is the Bridleback Shore, a vast beach area between Suntrot and Seasaddle that is home to many ancient ruins of mystery and legend. Another famed feature of the region is Mount Fire Foal, unlike its taller cousin, Mount Thunderhooves, Fire Foal is still an active volcano, and offers a spectacle of flaming light and color in both day and night as bright lava regularly spews froth from its fiery crater; fortunately there are no nearby settlements in danger from this cauldron of lava.
22. The sun was high in the Fillydelphian sky, as Mesmeric headed out for his morning jog, an activity that he had once long ago enjoyed with his fiancee, but one that now had become more of a hassle than a joy, "I don't...see why you insist we continue to do this, no one acknowledges me anymore...at least not like they used to..." the hypnotist murmured to himself, before responding in a different tone, "It's to help keep your spirits up lad, not everything is as doom and gloom as it seems! The sun rising in the morning it proof that every day is a new start in life! One that's full of opportunity and blah blah blah, he gets it, you go on the same rant every morning and frankly? It's getting old, ya windbag!" a third voice chimed into his self conversation; this one more gruff sounding than the others, "If you wanna live life, grab it by the horns! Jogging is nothing but boring exercise! Time that could be spent doing other things, like, hypnotizing a few folks outta some change so we can get something to EAT! I for one am STARVING!" "Now now, we all know that stealing isn't the answer; perhaps we could look for a job that Oh, yeah, right, 'How many positions are you applying for?' 'Oh just three, one for me, myself and I!' Yeah that'd go over really well...IN THE CIRCUS!" the two different voices argued on for several minutes before Mesmeric himself chimed back in "Enough enough enough! Stop arguing it's g..giving me a headache...I just want a few moments to myself, can you both just STOP bickering and shut up for a few minutes, please?!" he snapped at himself; to passersby, this was surely a strange sight, though lately, it had become the norm when seeing the poor hypnotist. Taking a few calm breaths and seeing if Levi and Athian shut up, Mesmeric breathed a sigh of relief before starting back on his jog; he had no destination in mind, but even though he thought it pointless, running seemed to ease his mind, if only for a little while.
23. “Alright…let’s see if that’s everything.†Big Time held a checklist up and used the pencil in his mouth to check off everything he had. Snacks, a dance-floor, beverages, a DJ that knew more about new music than he did, and last but not least, the proper lighting to really bring the atmosphere of a party. “That should do it…†said the blue Pegasus as he eased his pencil into the grip attached to the clipboard. “Now all this party needs is…well…guests!†The party Big Time had planned cost him a large sum of bits. The venue itself was in the thousands. However no price, be it large or small, could stop the confident stallion from finding what he was looking for. His “Friendship Party†was disguised as a way for all the ponies in Fillydelphia to meet and get to know one another, but his true intent was a bit more money-oriented. The party would allow Big Time to find himself some new clients. Even if he could get ONE pony to agree to his contract, the cost of the party would be worth it. Right now, however, all the Pegasus stallion could do was wait and see who shows up for this little gathering. Until then, Big Time adjusted his sunglasses and cued the DJ to start playing the dance music.
24. After months of traveling around Equestria and going to raves, Beat Match decided it would be a good time to head to her hometown of Fillydelphia and relax for a while. After 2 days of travel, she was finally home! It was all just as she left it, the atmosphere, the people, even the sidewalks were the same! "It's great to be home!" The mare thought to herself. After getting some lunch, she immediately set out to get an apartment. After 2 hours of apartment hunting, she finally found one she liked. It was Apartment #40 at The Grand Mare. Despite it's name, it was about as impressive as any other apartment out there but Beat liked it because of the acoustics in the rooms. After some mental debating, she decided she would rent the apartment. After she rented the apartment, the landlord told her she would have some roommates. "Roommates?" Beat thought to herself. "I don't care, I'm always open to meeting new ponies!" The mare said. The landlord then gave her the key and she went up to the apartment. No pony was in the apartment at the time so since Beat had a long day, she figured she'd meet her new roomies tomorrow and hit the hay.
