  1. Hope smiled as she arrived at the trainstation with the reformed Sombra. Sure he still had quirks from when he was king (like his horn and dark magic), but she was the one who was able to calm him down whenever needed. Guards stopped them from entering until they saw she was a princess and had an invitation. "Excuuuse me, but i thought i was allowed to take a friend with me." She hissed. "We had expected someone other than...THAT" "well i had expected guards to be nice to a princess, but i don't get what i want either, now do i?" She passed through with Sombra, who had growled slightly. "I don't think they're happy to have me." She giggled slightly and he chuckled, knowing what she was going to say. "Well it is kind of logical on one hand...uh hoof. You did kind of enslave a whole empire. But on the other hoof, you're reformed. Or at least calmed down around me. So it shouldn't be a problem right?" "No it shouldn't. Doesn't mean i don't understand them." Just as she was about to say something, she bumped into somepony. "Oof. Excuse me. I was talking to my bf and wasn't paying attention." She smiled.
  2. Griffonstone. Once, it had been the shining jewel of griffon kind. It's wealth and influence reached far and wide, allowing the catbirds who grew up and lived there a great deal of prestige and pride that they could lord over those unfortunate enough to not have the grace or wealth to live their themselves. But as is often the case with history, the wheel turned ever onward; Their greatest trading partner disappeared off the face of the planet, one of their kings great treasures was stolen with their monarchs spending to much time and resources trying to get it back in vain... and while the authority of Griffonstone crumbled to dust other powers rose up to fill the void it left behind. Now, Griffonstone was little more then a dump for old griffons to stubborn to admit that the old days were over and die and those poor, unfortunate souls that were too poor to live anywhere else. The glories of the past long destroyed, outright ransacked or simply abandoned to rot while the slums in their shadows grew more dilapidated and cheap as the years passed by. But as he sat at an outdoors chair that somehow seemed to have all of its legs be the short one making it wobbly, Ridge the dragon did not see Griffonstone's distant past or its depressing present. Instead the white dragon's eye gaze was focused on a piece of parchment that the pony he had hired to confirm his suspicions had taken the time to write their detailed report on, only occasionally letting it flicker over to the sack of 'samples' that had been unearthed in the process before his attention returned to ink on paper. It was a complicated document in the fact that the terminology employed by it would have confused most beings able to read and write who didn't have a background in geology, but for Ridge it teased out a smile. Putting the parchment down, he opened up the sack of samples in order to draw one of them out to see it with his own eyes. While he would confess that emeralds were low on his personal list of favorite flavors when it came to gems (through some of them were good for decoration) the one that he held in his claw had earned something of a special place in his heart as it seemed to glow in the light, twisting the light of the sun into a rather pleasant dark green color. It wasn't big or that impressive looking, through it would easily be able to purchase a couple of the slum homes that made up Griffionstone itself, but the emerald itself was nowhere near as important as what its presence represented. Griffionstone had a future... and Ridge was going to claim it.
  3. Well, this had been an entirely uneventful day so far. Angel was lounging on a cloud over Ponyville, watching the residents go about their day. Things had been quiet for the mare recently, and while she did enjoy this town, it could get a bit boring at times. Ah well, that was part of reason she loved this town. Nice and peaceful most of the time, gives a good contrast to her adventuring. She was wearing the armor, but the blades were retracted for now and her chain was wrapped around her hoof. The pegasus zony rolled over onto her back, watching the sky for a bit and settling in for a bit of a nap unless something happened around here.
  4. "Make way, make way!" Never let it be said that Prince Blueblood didn't have a flair for spectacle and making an entrance. His showiness was often only restrained by an aristocratic sense of dignity. Some occasions, however, were sufficiently large as to overwhelm any hesitation, and this, well... This occasion was as big as the Sphinx the Prince was currently riding on the back of through the cobbled streets of Canterlot. "Behold, Citizens, the great Marvel of the Southern Desert Lands!" The Sphinx's name was Niilavin, and Blue had encountered him while accompanying the Sultana of Saddle Arabia on an archaeological dig. Apparently, one of the old Pharaohs had enchanted the great desert cat, and subsequently petrified him upon his own death. By donning the amulet that had been used control Niil, Blueblood had broken the petrification spell, and become Niil's new master. As the giant cat hadn't yet adjusted to the new norms of civilization quite yet ("No, we don't eat our enemies, we befriend them! Bad boy."), it had been decided that the safest thing to do would be to keep the enchantment going, while the Prince took Niil back to Equestria, more or less to housebreak him. Blueblood being Blueblood, however, he couldn't help but use the opportunity to show off his status. So, taking a few souveniers home to dress himself similarly to a Pharoah of old, he now Paraded down the main streets and squares of Canterlot, showing of his new pet and his new bling to all and sundry. Faust only knew what the papers would make of this...
  5. OOC Star Wars The Fallen Force A dark fog hangs over the Equestrian Galaxy. War has decimated the ranks of the galaxy’s Jedi protectors. Once numbered in the thousand, only a few hundred remain. Now a new threat will emerge that may end them all together. With a Galactic Senate now the ruling body of the Galaxy, the two sisters have retired from ruling and now focusing on protecting the galaxy through the Magic of Friendship and the Force. Recently promoted Knight Midnight Oil has been assigned to a secret mission to a planet long forgotten by his old master, as well as another surprise for the young Jedi Knight. Now a young Jedi Knight, Midnight Oil, has been tasked by his old master on a secrete mission to the ancient saber forge before darkness swallows the galaxy..... Little dose the team know that a new threat is waiting in the shadows.... Midnight Oil stood the main hanger of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. His gaze locked onto the Mu-class shuttle in front of him. His heart was beating the quickest it had since he had passed the Jedi Trials only a few short days ago. "Jedi Knight....Jedi Knight....Commander Midnight..." he muttered to himself "Your first mission on behalf of Master Luna...You can...You must do this.." figgiting with his robe's hood, he would walk slowing towards the shuttle taking slow, deep breaths. Reaching the shuttles ramp, he would lean against on the landing struts, awaiting the team that had been chosen for this mission.
  6. Silverbolt made his return to Ponyville with a flapping of wings. It had been a long time since he had come back to this place, his wayward rambling and courier routes keeping him from coming to visit. He had owed his mother a visit but it would have to wait. He had heard some rumors through a rather frequent client of the courier service, Pocket Change. As he landed, he chuckled to himself. He still recalled that whole mess with the bugs and Pocket. What a fine mess that he narrowly avoided! The rumors he had heard was of some sort of old treasure or artifact being hidden somewhere far away from Ponyville but wanted to meet him here, mostly away from prying eyes and ears. There was some prudence in choosing Ponyville, it was home to Princess Twilight and still sleepy enough that as long as you avoided the Crystal Tree you could speak in relative privacy. At least that was what he could gather from his somewhat cursory overview of the town. He trotted towards the appointed meeting place, wearing his courier uniform and carrying a package. The package was shifted to his back as he now waited for Pocket to arrive. Their meeting place was at the edge of town, heading towards Sweet Apple Acres. He yawned as he now sat down, waiting for the arrival of the white coated unicorn stallion. There was definitely an air of excitement about him as he considered the potential for fame and glory. Perhaps he could hang up the courier's sack for a time if things went well!
  7. Welcome to the Explorers Society! The pub was founded many years ago by an adventurer named Bounder O’ Adventure and his fearless group of like-minded friends. They wanted a place they could hang out and talk about the adventures they had either been on or were about to start. They hoped to create a place they could hang photos and paintings of their adventures and friends. And where they could display mementos of their epic feats. The actual society held monthly meetings in an hidden room on property, but with the disbandment of the actual Society, the room had been unopened for decades. For all intent and purposes, the ‘ES’ was now basically a well themed pub. This pub still allowed story-tellers to sit by the fire and spin their tall-tales. Grateful pub-patrons had been know to send a few drinks towards the narrator, as long as he or she had a good yarn to spin. Two ponies slowly made their way through the pub, only stopping to admire the many paintings of adventurers of the past. The older pony, a red Pegasus coated mare let out a sigh as her eyes fell upon a particular painting. This one consisted of a rather heavy looking stallion adorned with an oversized white mustache that look up nearly half of his face and made him look like an elderly walrus. An neat little monocle and pith helmet completed the scarlet cheeked earth pony's 'uniform'. "This is grandpa and dad's old friend. Merry old 'Colonel Critchlow.", her voice was filled with respect and awe. "Once in a blue moon, we would pop over here and I would listen to the good Colonel's stories while dad would play cards or darts with his officer friends...And while I was told some of his stories were real, he generally liked to 'enhance' his tales....For the listener's sake." The younger pony nodded her head. Hopefully somepony would have a tale of their own to tell.
  8. Hope and optimism spring ever eternal in the minds of ponies. At least, that was what must have been so for a mare to run, for years, a wine and grape punch shop smack dab in the middle of cider country. Not that Berry Punch resented the Apple family at all! It was just that she thought there was room enough for all fruits in this town. Enough of her fellow citizens seemed to agree to keep her shop afloat, but not quite enough to make it a success. "Success" being defined as enough to give her little filly the life her mother felt she deserved. Dreams of little Ruby Pinch being Equestria's fifth Princess aside, Berry really did need help to move stock this year. And wouldn't you know it, but a new mare from the Crystal Empire came to town, one skilled in making crafts from crystals! Just the sort of thing needed to showcase her wonderful beverages. It being a slow day at her own shop, Berry felt no shame in shuttering early, and trotting down to the new mare's house, rapping on the door with great expectations...
  9. Celestia rose from her bed, and went to her balcony. The moon was already sinking down, so Luna was ahead of her today. Celestia smiled softly, and her horn lit up in that glittering golden magic color. The sun slowly began to rise over the horizon, bringing light to the world and awakening it from the peaceful slumber of the gentle night. She loved the sweet night time her sister made.Tia slowly finished raising the sun into place and moved to the desk in her room. As she sat to look at the calendar, something came to her. It was her birthday. While most of her subjects had long forgotten it, many ponies near her still remembered. It was always a fun day, and she enjoyed the often festive like celebrations they held in the gardens for her. She let them do as they pleased, it was more fun that way. As she began putting on her finery, she paused to look in the mirror. Setting the gold trappings aside, she stood in front of her mirror and looked at herself. No. Today she was going without them. Her subjects knew her well enough to know it was her. She didn't need all the finery of a princess to be a happy pony. Taking one last look at herself, she nodded and moved to her door. Today was a day to be happy and she strolled the halls slowly. She looked out the windows at the guards as they went about their daily tasks and patrols. She could see that there was already a banner announcing it was her birthday, and that court was canceled. Moving down the hall she went to the dining hall. The table was massive, made to accommodate over two dozen ponies at once. But on mornings like this, it was just her and her sister. Taking a seat at the end of the table, she leaned a hoof on the wood to wait. She was pondering what was for breakfast. Maybe Luna would make pancakes, or the chefs would make something sweet and fruity. While the first attempt of her sibling to cook was not that great, Luna had kept practicing, and she got really good at it. Celestia herself was no good in the kitchen, she knew that. The best she could do was make a salad, and even then it was bland. As she waited, she started to hum softly. Her eyes drifted over the room, lit only by the light from the windows. It was lavish, and set with all manner of finery. Celestia had come to just accept it, though secretly she wanted to get rid of it all. She had come to miss the simpler time when it was just she and her little sister, dining on a picnic blanket in a flower field and enjoying the simple foods nature provided them.
  10. By the time all the invitations were sent out, the event was no longer very much of a surprise. It was no secret that Chieftain Sigrun of Clan Askr and Vakstyra Halvard of Clan Breen had hit it off very well ever since their first meeting in the Saarvergerg Arena, and fast became more than friends. The fact that their homeland was split by a civil war, however, intruded inevitable delays on anything official. Not to mention the somewhat complicated politics involving Clan Breen’s public neutrality in the matter of the war, while Sigrun and Clan Askr were very much on the side of the Loyalists. Many tedious months of politics later, however, and Halvard had finally managed to shift his Clan’s position, and considerable resources, behind the King’s cause. As these were not inconsiderable in amount, the ceremony itself would be made a fairly extravagant affair, the marriage of the two now seen as a symbol and lynchpin of their clan’s alliance. Which meant, of course, that their wedding was now further delayed by the amount of planning that had to go into it… *Good thing I’ve never been one to shy away from logistics.* Halvard mused, smiling as he completed the last double-check of the mead supply. Sigrun wasn’t one for fancy and frou-frou, thank the gods, but an abundance of guests required an abundance of food, drink, and space. Running his eyes over the hall, and comparing the numbers on their guest list, he pursed his lips. *Well…. Two out of three isn’t bad. Hope the foreign guests don’t mind the crush.* At least the native guests wouldn’t. After all, it isn’t a party until everybou’s up in each other’s faces! Whether from joy or fighting really depended on the mood and the mead. Hopefully, this all wouldn’t be too much… ~~~ While Caribou weddings weren’t exactly the same ceremony as one generally saw in the southern lands, there was a general commonality between them, in that the groom and bride didn’t come alone. Each would bring either a close relation, or a close friend, representing all the relationships surrounding the pair that would intertwine. Halvard had thought long and hard about who he would bring, but ultimately settled on what he felt was the best, and only choice. “Are you ready, Calder?” The bull called out to the one whom he had come to think of as a son. This was not a trivial question, as the younger bull had many quite legitimate reasons for being nervous about publicly appearing back in Whitescar. Halvard had strongly encouraged him to come out with him, though; partly for his own good, to face and conquer the demons of his memory, at least in some ways. The other reason, however, was one he wouldn’t say to his adopted son, as it had to do, again, with the politics of the situation. Calder wasn’t exactly a stereotypical bull, in many ways, but Halvard felt that what he himself was fighting this civil war for was to make a place for caribou like his son. This was a public show of solidarity for the family, and the gods have mercy on any who’d have a problem with it!
  11. The Grand Galloping Gala is a grand party held in Canterlot to celebrate the birth of Equestria, it is known to hold elegant music, activities, famous ponies such as The Wonderbolts and musicians of great expertise. Of course, no pony could simply trot in and enjoy it, you have to have a golden ticket to enter the celebration which is held in the Princess' Castle. Every pony wishes to attend such a beautifully put together party... Well, maybe not everypony. Just today, Kahoot had learned about the Gala, never has she ever heard of such an event until she, as well as her theater crew, each received a ticket as well as a personal letter inviting them to the celebration, it clearly stated that the ponies of Canterlot, Ponyville, and of many other cities attending the Gala would love to see their performance. At first, Kahoot wasn't too excited considering her theater group is often invited to "small" events to perform, though, as soon as she learned just how important The Grand Galloping Gala is, she was bouncing off of walls with pure joy. The spotlights were quickly maneuvering to aim at the actors and actresses on stage, Kahoot being one of them as their show ends. They lower their heads, earning cheers and claps from the audience, roses are thrown around them to show just how amazing their show had been. While Kahoot may have wanted to remain on that stage forever, basking in the praises from her audience, it was time for the musicians to continue playing their instruments for the high-class ponies from all over to dance and feast on the snacks and food at the buffet table. Kahoot's appearance is not her usual choice in clothing and mane styles, in fact, she respects that the Gala is important to many ponies and is a chance to dress up properly, so she did just that. Of course, she can't do anything astounding considering she still had to look a certain way for her theater group's performance. Although Kahoot did bring a change of clothes, no way was she going to wear a maid's outfit the entire Gala. The change in clothing is just a simple dress, nothing as large and poofy as the other mares here, her hair isn't done in any specific way, either. You can't forget her signature retro glasses, they were in a different, more pastel shade, though. All in all, Kahoot does fairly stand out against most of the mares attending the celebration, not that she cares, considering her career she had to stand out. The Pegasus wanders off from her group, everyone seeming to be enjoying themselves. At this point in time, all the young mare wants is some sort of meal and food, especially after having such a long show to give. Even a pony as energetic as Kahoot needs some sort of boost to stay awake. She makes her way over to the buffet, picking out nothing too large, eating a lot made Kahoot tired and that isn't what she was aiming for. She picks a simple dandelion sandwich as well as apple cider with a side of apple pie, Kahoot could eat anything that involves apples, it's her favorite fruit. She finishes her scavenge for an energy boost, making her way to an empty table to enjoy what she chose.
  12. Ponyville was known very well for holding all sorts of characters, although, the usual beast that managed to scurry around aimlessly ever so often slipped through the cracks and appeared like magic. Sioux wasn't a very welcomed mare, very well known for her trickeries and weird shenanigans that always linked up to her horrible doings. Most would look up to someone who is confident and brave, although, Sioux uses her traits for anything but good - Resulting in the opposite of admiration for her. The real question is, did she care? Absolutely not. Sioux believed that friends were useless, the Elements of Harmony are garbage, and that Equestria should fall before her hooves and bow- Ahem, anyways... The point is, Sioux uses the motto, "Treat others the way you want to be treated" in a literal way, those who treat her like garbage received garbage... Those who treat her with kindness... Receive less garbage. This includes her only best friend, Platinum Flash. The young stallion was oddly different as well, not holding the same masculinity of most stallions but none the less getting on with his usual life. Platinum was fairly close to the beastly mare, whenever he was in town he would be spotted trailing somewhere near her or trying to whip up a conversation with her. The Photographer and the Beast. Quite the unlikely duo but none the less entertaining to watch whenever Sioux had enough of his babbling and eventually would scream in her shrieky voice about nonsense, if they wanted, they could probably become filthy rich off of comedy acts... Once again, they had their minds set on other things. Spring has finally sprung, the usual freezing cold weather growing to be more chilly and welcoming, although, with Spring brought heavy rays of Sun and Sioux + Sun = EXTREME SUNBURN TO THE POINT FLESH MIGHT MELT. Sioux's coat was incredibly sensitive to the Sun, as well as her mane which can very well fry upon contact to critical heat from Sun rays, hence the fact she usually wore a cloak and held a large black umbrella atop her head; just like usual, had a lanky young stallion hot on her trail ready to "annoy" her once again. Platinum Flash would be in town for the next week before traveling like usual, something the two Bittersweet Friends had in common. Although, Sioux's pride would never allow her to travel with HIM. "Sioux, Sioux, Sioux-" "WHAT?!" "Turn around." She turns and is immediately met with a blind flash, sending her nearly toppling over as her eyes burned, "IDIOT." As usual, the two- Well, Sioux was arguing none stop as Platinum cries over how picture perfect the unique mare was. Unfortunately, they failed to realize the attention they were drawing as well as how obnoxiously loud they were, although, most pony-folk do not hold the guts to confront them... Well, confront Sioux, afraid her shark-like teeth might latch onto them or the rumors of her being a cannibal are true. Stories really do travel fast, although, if it means no one will bother Sioux, she is all for it. Ponies of Ponyville always dread whenever the two are accompanying one another, they always drive away customers and visitors... Are louder than necessary, only causing critical migraines, and absolutely have no manners when it comes to common courtesy- Well, Sioux doesn't.
  13. The homey little cottage that had been partly paid for by her parents upon her insistence of moving out felt far too large for the young mare and her little feathered companion. Upon entering, anyone would be able to take notice of how empty the little home was; it seemed almost as if it were uninhabited, if not for the bed, other furnature, and a couple of hoof-drawn posters that remained perched upon the walls. A fire crackled in the fireplace, smoke billowing up through the hole in her roof that served as a ventilation of sorts. Little trinkets lined the old and rickety wooden shelf that hung near the entrance, many of which had been brought back by her parents over years of long trips to make up for missed birthdays or forgotten holidays. Upon the bed was a pile of blankets, which shifted after a moment or so with the muffled coughs that seemed to come from within. Orchid gave a muffled chirp of concern as she fluttered over to perch upon the edge of the mattress and tried to nose her beak into the blanket fortress that was Radiant. The mare felt absolutely horrible, as noted by the small groan that parted tired lips when the light from the fire sent a painful throb into her skull. "Not now, Orchid... We'll play later." she muttered, rubbing at her eyes some and flopping over onto her other side, back turned to the songbird, whom merely shifted forward some to try and offer a comforting nudge to Radiant's back. There was supposed to be a sort of music showcase on such a day, but Radiant had declined to show up upon awakening with a relatively mild fever. Well, she would've ended up going anyway... if Orchid hadn't refused to let the mare anywhere near the door. The songbird had sensed that something was wrong the moment Radiant greeted her with a scratchy, painful-sounding voice... and the mare smelled rather... sickly? The avian would recognize such behavior from a while back. The mare had fallen ill a lot back when she'd been recovering from the incident that had cost Radiant a wing. The little songbird remembered days on end of perching upon the edge of the mare's bed, singing the few little tunes she knew in some attempt at offering comfort to her feverish friend. Grumbling, Radiant pulled the blankets around herself more securely as she heard a knock at the door. Now who could that be? She wasn't expecting any company... was she? No matter. She pushed herself to her hooves, before clearing her throat with a wince and responding, somewhat irritably, her voice scratchy and soft. "Yes? Is someone there?"
  14. Rainbowflashdash was walking around ponyville looking for friends, and is also looking for a pony he would fall in love with, why making as many pony friends as he could get, for the time being as he waits outside his home.
  15. The beautiful white streets of the castle town of Canterlot we're littered with broken glass over turned carts and ponies buckling down in fear of whatever was tearing around the streets at high speeds causing this destruction. A blur of blue and silver tore down the city's streets letting off sonic booms every time it took off or turned a corner, only further adding to damaging the royal capital. The residence we're confused as to what was happening and more than a little pissed off their belongings we're being destroyed. A jeweler was sitting in tears as the door of his shop had been torn off it's hinges and all the valuables in his shop had vanished along with the blue blur. The supersonic object approached Canterlot Park and came to a screeching halt, now it was slowing down it could be seen more clearly. The object behind all this destruction was a stallion sized blue dragon with silver spines. Digging his claws into the ground while spreading his wings to create drag assisting in breaking, a shower of golden coins and glittering jewelry rushed past him landing in great pile before the dragon in the center of the park. The dragon known as Bolt smiled zipping atop the horde he'd amassed from Canterlot's citizens. He fell back looking relaxed placing his claws behind his head his tail swishing back and forth across the ill gotten gold. "This is the life." He told himself closing his eyes letting the diamonds and rubies drift between the claws on his toes.
  16. i was a homeless pegasus stallion, with no home to go to or family as i do my best to keep my shop open, to where i can earn enough bits to get my cloudhouse back. from cloudsdale where i did until this happen, as i wait for my friends to come and helped me out, as i helped them when they needed it,
  17. Eagle Heart stood at his post, looking stoic and alert, but in actuality was very tired. The poor stallion had been given a double shift when Stout Wings got sick. Thankfully, he was nearing the end of it. He couldn't wait to get back to his bed and collapse in his exhaustion, tossing aside his heavy armor. It seemed even heavier after twice as many hours of it pressing on his wings. He longed to stretch them out. Not long now, he thought to himself, reassuringly. He almost allowed himself a smile, until he remembered that Gilded Helm was beside him. Even if the other stallion was asleep. It was only a few more minutes until they were relieved, and Eagle Heart was about to lean over and wake Gilded when he heard a noise down the hall. Was Princess Luna inside at this time of night? No, surely not. She would be watching over everypony's dreams by now. He heard another sound, and gave a soft huff. He had to do something about this. Cautiously, Eagle Heart crept towards the place where the hallway turned, and peered around the corner to see what the noise had been.
  18. Tsuhebi was a bit of a mystery, in and of itself. Because while a simple walk was still doable, the medium sized harbor town was famous for the canals that ran all throughout the village, remnants of the rivers that ran down from the mountains before emptying into the vast ocean. Though there were ample areas to set paw on earth to walk around, it wasn't an uncommon sight to see homes and businesses set right on the border of some water, complete with those wooden boats they used to traverse the canals. In fact, most of the ponies used said boats to get from one side of the village to another, and walking was considered a leisurely activity to do in one's spare time, rather than the accepted way of moving left to right. Uncommon, but not wholly responsible for the anomaly that was the once small village. Perhaps the crown jewel of Tsuhebi, however, resided in its famed floating market, a spectacle that was, to his understanding, boasted near world wide. Where boardwalks and bridges did not boast vendors, boats and floating merchandise did, as did the boats that moved to and fro around the market, advertising their wares and sometimes stopping the trade with other vendors. Villagers and tourists alike made the floating market more alive than the myriad of different products, produce, and whatever else the ponies deigned to trade little gold bits over, and the number of lanterns that would light up as the sun descended would make the water across the entire village shine like so many gems in the darkest of caverns. Truly, the attraction had turned the once-small harbor town into one of the world's most visited areas. Once, a beautifully cared for and magnificently grown willow tree had been the entirety of Tsuhebi's boast to the world. He remembered visiting it when the town was asleep, laying beneath the willow and feeling the earth around him. Now, the willow was all but invisible, the very tips of it sticking up a ways in the distance as the buildings around it commanded more attention and girth. It may as well never have existed. Kamikakushi no Shinrin studied the tip of the willow tree from his spot just outside the floating market and next the water of a canal, paws crossed over one another as the bustle of a village just beginning to wake up surrounded him. Underneath the shade of a few smaller, recently grown willow trees, his form seemed to shift and snake, his innate magic ensuring that most eyes glanced over his resting spot without truly seeing. Only a pony that directly gazed at this spot with purpose would take notice of his form, but Kamikakushi no Shinrin highly doubted such a thing would happen. If there was one thing he had learned since integrating himself into the pony world, it was that ponies were always moving and going places, and rarely took the time to simply sit, and stare, and ponder. All the better for him. Taking a shifted form was easy enough to achieve, but grew tiresome to maintain. Even an Ōkami needed to rest every once in a while. And to ponder. The harbor town had a small port, similar to the great city of Polohama that lay close to the south. But being much smaller on the grand scale of things meant an easier time securing passage. As busy as Tsuhebi had been in the recent years, it would be less of a hassle for his disguise, well known and well photographed, to barter passage across the seas. Money would be no issue - those bits of gold he received from his modeling more than ensure that. It was, all in all, a very simple thing to plan out. So why was he filled with such dread? Perhaps the idea of being so very far from his home forest is what drove him to lay down his head, seemingly prepared to stall for yet another day. He'd traveled great distances all over Neighpon, this was true, and his power had never deviated downwards to an extent that had worried him...but would that change overseas? Would he board a ship, only to feel his disguise weaken the further they sailed away? He was an Ōkami, and Kamikakushi no Shinrin had full confidence in his abilities - but that didn't change the fact that he simply didn't know, and there was no use denying the fact that his power hailed strongest inside and nearby his home. He wondered if this venture was worth the risk. Finding answers...fulfilling the yearning that kept him coming back to cities and walking into studios and surrounding himself with ponies that praised his looks or skill in front of a camera...there had to be a payoff somewhere, through someone or something. He just needed to find it.
  19. Cog carver was enjoying his first day off in months, his shop was closed, he had nothing to worry about, as he had some friends set up a security spell to alert him if the store was broken into, he could just relax. He sighed contently in his unfolded reclining beach chair and enjoyed the breeze from the lake as he let his worries fade. He had a red colored eye, with one being a milky blue from being blinded at a young age, he smiled as he felt the breeze against his bronze brown coat and blonde mane. "Ahhh, this... I could get used to this..." he then looked around, wary for any hint of Pinkie pie nearby, as he was quite used to her appearing out of nowhere and scaring the living tartarus out of him.
  20. The life of a small-town shopkeeper is full of a very pleasant kind of business; there is always something to be done, but every bit of work you do is for your and your family's own good. You don't have to sweat for your boss' bottom line, or stretch yourself to afford status symbols to impress your neighbors. Solid, sensible prosperity, that was the ticket! Berry Punch had to laugh at her own internal monologue, as she arranged all the bottles on the shelves in preparation for opening. Who'd have thought the hard-partying mare from Canterlot would have come to this? Still, having a foal can change you, and she wouldn't have traded her life for any without Ruby. That young filly was at school now, while her mother stayed home, running the wine and juice store that filled the first floor of their house in town. It was a pretty good business, if she did say so herself. Good wine at reasonable prices for the adults in this town, who weren't so caught up in snobbery to pay top-bit for a bottle label, regardless of the quality within. The juice, of course, was for the little colts and fillies who weren't old enough for that yet! While much of the wine was imported, Berry tried to make the juices herself, or at least to get them as fresh as possible. Her upbringing as a grocer's gal gave her an eye for good fruit, which she prided her self on putting to good use! Oh my, ten o'clock already? Well, time to unlock the door! Trotting over to the entrance, she pushed it open to test the jingle of the little welcome bell, turned the sign to 'open' and sauntered back in, just waiting for the first customer of the day...
  21. Its been so long since I have had a good idea for an rp, but looking back on some of my old stuff, I think Ill bring back an rp I have been itching to do an RP in the world of The Elder Scrolls, where a new race of mortals, known as Equestrians, are just discovered. They are a quiet people, not wanting to leave their home in the side of The Throat of The World, fearing anyone who would enter. This is the tale of two friends, who consider each other brothers, having to find a new home, after a series of strange events that cause the Equestrians to leave. Heres a little bit (the starter, actually) of the RP, just to give you an idea. The cave of Equestia. A vast and deep cavern in the side of the great mountain known as The Throat of The World. The secluded sanctum was like it's own little world. What with the river running through tufts of vegetation that is suited to such a life spreading across for its inhabitants to enjoy. Said inhabitants often living in small clusters of villages. A peaceful sort of place untouched by the world above. There was already talk among the villagers. Murder in their fair town? Preposterous! Blasphemous, even! Though it happened 2 years ago, it was still the main topic of discussion in the whole cave. The parents of a Masquerade Quasoia, were found with slashed throats in the morning of mundas. The poor boy was devastated. Masquerade became an odd boy after that. Having moved on after two years, moving in with his grandfather at the hall of the dead. He was quicker to be angered than he usually was. Threatening to kill bullies and such, whom always would over power the short boy easily, making him even angrier. It happened every morning. This morning was no different... Masquerade was being held down by two colts as one named Blackbird Vicici punched away at the poor Masquerade's face and stomach. Whom cursed their family names. I wanna do this with someone who can type at least two good paragraphs of text, with good English skills. Goodbye, and I hope you will do this with me!
  22. The sky was a beautiful with it's pastel pinks, dark purples, and vibrant orange all cast by the rising sun. A pink mare lay relaxed half submerged in a river that was very close to ponyville and she sighed happily enjoying the feel of rushing water on her lower half. It was rare when Candy Shimmer was allowed to just enjoy herself and the nature around her. Trying to become a popular or just a known singer was hard work and rarely gave her time to herself or even with others. She sighed once more at that thought, she's been in ponyville for a little over a month now and hasn't made a single friend. Tracing circles in the dirt with her hoof she wondered what she could do today to change that she could go to the local shops and chat with ponies there, but she doubted anypony would talk to her while they were busy shopping. She pondered more and more the best way to make a friend and came up with nothing that stuck out to her as a good idea. Rolling onto her side she sighed again and decided the best way to go out and make friends is to do just that go out and do it. By the time she decided what she'd do it was already a little before noon. She partially dragged and partially levitated her lower half to her wheelchair that an inventor made for her in Melodia before she left for ponyville. Ah Melodia she thought to herself as she trotted as best she could towards the center of town to decide her next move. Melodia was a lovely city with ponies and creatures alike. It was very nice and all but Candy felt like she had needed a change and heard the wonderful things about ponyville and just had to have a second home in it. She was closing in fast on the center town and felt herself begin to panic slightly, what will she do? Just stand in the middle of ponies and hope somepony will talk to her? No she'll have to be assertive and friendly. Open with the townsponies of Ponyville, so in her head she practiced what she would say. Hi! I'm Candy Shimmer and I'm a new here, would you like to be friends? She repeated this over and over in her head until she made it to the heart of the town, then the words escaped her. What will she do now? No pony would want to make friends with her! She was an oddball in a town full of ponies. Whatever was she thinking moving to a place so different from her home town. While all this was going through her mind she was just standing in the middle of the town eyes darting back and forth wondering what to do. Will somepony be her new friend?
  23. Winter would be horrible without Hearthswarming. In fact, without Hearthswarming, Winter would probably be eternal! It had been so long since the days of the Windigoes running wild that most ponies tended only to think of winter as a time to play in the snow, feast on stored food, and cuddle up with loved ones in a warm house. And, when that got old, they just got up and made winter go away. Just how amazing a triumph like that actually was could all too easily be taken for granted. And up until recently, Prince Blueblood had taken it for granted. Just one more day in the Canterlot social calendar, with associated duties: go to see (and be seen) at the Annual Play, attend all right parties, give just the right amount above the expected amount of bits to various charities, and the like. Recent years had changed that. And changed him. Not only was he striving to be a better pony than he had been, but he’d traveled wider, and gained new perspectives. In particular, his recent diplomatic trips to Whitescar had shown him just how much open doors, open hearths, and sticking together actually mattered, when one couldn’t simply wrap up winter. So, this year, Blueblood had decided to pull out all the stops. He’d take a page from the aristocrats of old, and hold a feast open to all comers, whatsoever their class, nationality, or species. A bold step, for a pony noted for their snobbishness, but certainly the right move if one wanted to improve their reputation after being so noted. Upon mentioning this plan to his marefriend and Honor Guard, Star Crusader, she suggested that Blueblood use her own family seat in Fet Loch to host this gathering, as the country setting would be slightly more appropriate to the old-fashioned celebration that he was planning. And thus, the Prince set off for the northern marches of Equestria… ~***~ “Is everything ready?” It was the seventh time today that Prince Blueblood had asked that question. And the answer was the same as it was the past six times: the cook was in the process of whipping up the feast, the Duchess’ manor was ready to receive any influx of guests, and the weather pegasi had the snow falling right on schedule for a white Hearthswarming. But… the guests weren’t here yet. Had he not sent out enough invitations? Had he not made them obvious enough? Public posters had seemed a little vulgar to him for this sort of thing, and it would have been folly to put them up in Canterlot if a diverse group was what he wanted. But surely, ads in the major papers would have been enough to get the word out. Maybe ponies just didn’t want to do this sort of thing anymore? All the old celebrations and rites, the Coverly dance, climbing the greasy pole, snapdragon and plum pudding… had Equestria left such things behind? *Or is it just me?* If the Prince had to be perfectly honest, that might be the reason he hadn’t seen guests yet. After all, perhaps being snowed into an isolated house with Blueblood, of all ponies, wasn’t their idea of a good time, especially for Hearthswarming. Or maybe he was just being paranoid. After all, the holidays had barely begun. Time enough for the guests to arrive for the festivities...
  24. In all the annals of Equestrian History, few dates are as significant as Hearthswarming Eve, for it is from there that the history of pony unity is said to begin. While this originally meant unity between the tribes, traditions later grew that would encourage unity between the classes, as well. For example, in literature and legend praises were sung of the lords and ladies who would throw open the doors of their great houses to all comers for feasting, song, and revelry! Sadly, with the decline of the aristocracy into a class of rich urban snobs, such great traditions seem to have fallen by the wayside. Regretting the passing of these old and better days, Prince Blueblood has decided (partly as a way to rehabilitate his own reputation) to revive the tradition of the Grand Hearthswarming Feast! With the assistance of the Duchess of Fet Loch, who will more or less play hostess to the comers, the halls of the great country house shall be bedecked with holly and thronged by ponies (and non-ponies) of all stripes and classes, to celebrate the great winter holiday. Such, at any rate, is the plan.... So, I basically got the idea after reading a bunch of 19th and early 20th stories centering around English Christmas traditions, and though it would be a good idea to start up a thread centered around them! Think of this as a sort of mini-semi-official-event, open to spin-off threads and the like. I just wanted to have something on the site about the holiday coming up. Hopefully, I'll have the OP up sometime around early December, ready for everypony who wants to get in on some winter festivities! I'd like to gauge interest here, as well as take suggestions for what sort of things people would like to see and do here.
  25. “Three cheers for the New Lunar Regime! Huzzah!” Silence. “Huzzah!” Silence. “Huzzah!” Silence. The silences were just as crucial as the shouts. They combined to set the scene for a confrontation with an enthusiastic, pompous ‘collaborator’ with Nightmare Moon’s ‘takeover.’ The uncharitable would have said that this was a role that Prince Blueblood was born to play. The more complimentary would still have to admit that it was a role that the alabaster unicorn played rather well. Or… not quite a unicorn right now. Thanks to some clever costuming work, and a little magic courtesy of Starlight Glimmer, Blueblood was now also sporting a pair of magnificent white wings! After all, even Princes dressed up for Nightmare Night, and this year, Blue was going for the big one; an official alicorn! The story being, of course, that ascension was the price of his loyalty shift. He stood elevated on a platform, posing and preening like the prissy pretty colt pony prince that the tabloids loved to class him as. He cut the exact sort of figure that you just wanted to shove into the nearest body of water. Which was extremely convenient, given that the platform Blueblood perched upon was suspended over a tank of water. Attached to this platform was an ingenious device which, when struck with a thrown baseball, would drop the platform and dump the Prince into the tank! “Haha, you shall not pass! After all, who among you can pitch so as to soak the newest member of the exclusive club of alicorns?” It was a feat that would take skill, but determination could see a pony throw surprisingly well. Especially when that pony was motivated to wipe a certain grin off a certain face. Success would be met with a gratifying splash, as well as a chance to raid the royal candy stash for tribute. Of course, the fewer throws it took a pony, the more candy they could get! “Well? I’m wai~it~ing~!” OOC: Rules for the Dunk Tank Event- -There will be a line for this event, as only one pony may toss their dunking balls at a time. -You only need one post for all your throws; success will be determined by a die roll. -While early successes will award more candy, all participants will earn at least one piece. -Extra pieces will be awarded for clever trash-talk, especially if it’s in-character to both your costume, and the event as a whole!
