1. Celestia rose from her bed, and went to her balcony. The moon was already sinking down, so Luna was ahead of her today. Celestia smiled softly, and her horn lit up in that glittering golden magic color. The sun slowly began to rise over the horizon, bringing light to the world and awakening it from the peaceful slumber of the gentle night. She loved the sweet night time her sister made.Tia slowly finished raising the sun into place and moved to the desk in her room. As she sat to look at the calendar, something came to her. It was her birthday. While most of her subjects had long forgotten it, many ponies near her still remembered. It was always a fun day, and she enjoyed the often festive like celebrations they held in the gardens for her. She let them do as they pleased, it was more fun that way. As she began putting on her finery, she paused to look in the mirror. Setting the gold trappings aside, she stood in front of her mirror and looked at herself. No. Today she was going without them. Her subjects knew her well enough to know it was her. She didn't need all the finery of a princess to be a happy pony. Taking one last look at herself, she nodded and moved to her door. Today was a day to be happy and she strolled the halls slowly. She looked out the windows at the guards as they went about their daily tasks and patrols. She could see that there was already a banner announcing it was her birthday, and that court was canceled. Moving down the hall she went to the dining hall. The table was massive, made to accommodate over two dozen ponies at once. But on mornings like this, it was just her and her sister. Taking a seat at the end of the table, she leaned a hoof on the wood to wait. She was pondering what was for breakfast. Maybe Luna would make pancakes, or the chefs would make something sweet and fruity. While the first attempt of her sibling to cook was not that great, Luna had kept practicing, and she got really good at it. Celestia herself was no good in the kitchen, she knew that. The best she could do was make a salad, and even then it was bland. As she waited, she started to hum softly. Her eyes drifted over the room, lit only by the light from the windows. It was lavish, and set with all manner of finery. Celestia had come to just accept it, though secretly she wanted to get rid of it all. She had come to miss the simpler time when it was just she and her little sister, dining on a picnic blanket in a flower field and enjoying the simple foods nature provided them.
2. It had been FOREVER since Cashmere had stepped hoof back into Ponyville! He'd been so busy touring the great country that he'd neglected to come home, well now was the time to do so! Cashmere missed creating, missed chatting, but most of all, he was HOMESICK, and wanted to rekindle feelings between himself and his fellow mares and stallions. The grey Unicorn was practically humming, as he threw open the curtains of his shop, and let the light in, fixing his mane with his magic in the mirror, grinning at himself as he did so, before strutting out onto the bustling city streets! Hello World! Cashmere was back and he was here to stay! The air felt so good he'd almost break into song, if he had time to actually think of one, instead humming "Winter Wrap Up" would have to do. "Good morning~!"
3. Welcome to the Python Ponies Forums! I am pretty sure that Python is considered geeky and nerdy, so I only thought it would be fitting to post this here. For those who don't know, Python is a programming language that is easy to use and really fun to mess with. This forum is for posting anything Python-related! Anything that is not related to Python will be removed. Anything inappropriate will be reported to the Administrators immediately, and may be punishable with a permanent ban from the forum. Spam and trolling-- You know what? I think you are mature enough to know that trolling and spam are childish and not tolerated. I am currently developing a game called Changeling Craft in Python, and I need a little help. It is going to be more of a collaborative project, since I am currently not funded to the point where I could pay my helpers. So, it is entirely voluntary! If you want to help me out, contact me via Skype. If you do not have Skype, send me a private message. I will be sure to reply within 5 minutes, no matter where you contact me from. The reason I want to use Skype, is because I will have a group chat for all of my assistant developers. Have a question? Feel free to ask me, I won't bite! Skype username: Sterling Ordes print("LET'S GET PYTHON-IFIED!")
4. I'm not sure if it's supposed to go here or the creative thing or whatever because it says no ads and ik not sure if this is an ad no don't get mad at me pls anyways, I'll draw your oc!
5. From the album: Scythe Chronicles

The three base Species of Pony make an excellent variety in both a Living Army... And a Dead One. Pegasi risen from their Eternal slumber can either be stripped of their wings and made much like that of light infantry. Strangely enough, those that still possess the remnants of their Winged Former selves still have the ability to fly. Making them excellent shock troopers and dogfighters. Coupled with their grotesque looks it's often said that any sensible pony would "Nope!" right the buck outta there. Unicorns Resurrected still bare limited control over magic. Some can be augmented to possess greater ability making them excellent Commandoes on the field of battle. With even a limited use of magic such as Levity and Magical blasts... This makes Unicorns a very versatile ground troops for both Ranged and Melee combatants. Earthborn Ponies are prized for their immense strength and natural fortitude. Making them not only difficult to Muster in large numbers due to the desire of having their corpses more fresh and less decomposed... But a powerful unit on the field of battle. The ideal Earthborn would be a pony equal to or exceeding Big Macintosh in size. Able to lift the heaviest of weapons in order to cause mayhem and spread fear on the battlefield. When armored.. they become a serious threat. As most undead do not know retreat and will fight to the last possible sinew. In all. The weakest of each species fall into the obligatory HORDE. Ideal specimens fall into the categories listed above. SOME COME GETCHA UNDEAD ARMY CHECKED OUT TODAY! :3
6. I have a question for everypony. how do/did you create the background story for your OC RP ponies. How did you earn your cutie marks. I got mine by helping a friend of mine find a girl friend (they have been together for 3 years and he is planning to ask the BIG question) is your ponies nature based off your real life, or completely random story stuff. I am really curious at to what everyone did/is doing. so let me know. thats my pony. Ruby Heart.
7. Hard Truths watched his Shetland Sheepdog frolic in the grass as he sat on a nearby bench to read. Peering over the top of his glasses every now and then, he made sure to keep an eye on the small, energetic dog. She may have been active and playful, but she was pretty old. His dog, Rue, had no eyes with which to see, but she didn't seem to need them with her keen sense of smell and sharp ears. That didn't keep her caretaker from worrying, though. She was so friendly that she had trouble knowing where and when she wasn't wanted, happily greeting everyone and everything she could with joyful barks and tail-wags. One might have found it odd that such a grumpy old bearded unicorn would have owned such a cheerful pet, but they seemed to balance each other out as opposites.
8. as the title says i was thinking of trying a Animal Crossing RP if anypony is interest say so we would be doing New leaf the newest one. it will be ponies any, and human
9. I don't have anything against people who want to have their oc have tattoos, it's just that why are tattooing pony ocs popping up faster than Cloud doing his daily training? I mean Cloud does have only one tattoo on his neck. I can accept a little ink on a pony, but I don't like seeing peoples ocs covered almost head to hoof in nothing but tattoos. It's like the oc looks more like a pony that tries out every single new tattoo design that another oc wants on their body. A little ink is fine, but a lot of ink is not okay. I'm not hating on the tattoo artist that we have here. I just wanted to get this off my chest. If I offended any of the people who have their ocs covered head to hoof in tattoos, I'm very sorry. If I made anyone mad, I'm also sorry too.
10. *Cloud is hanging up posters that says: "Looking for assassins to be a part of my creed. If not already and assassin, please bring this flyer to 3227 Equestrian Lane, Ponyville."
11. (Don't bother asking if you can join hehe it's fun for everyone hehe ^o^) Scissor Hooves and Harmony Chaser walked through town together loving that they are back in their home town Ponyville. They stopped of in the park and chatted contently liking the greenery around them. Scissor Hooves is a young mare pegasus her eyes are hazel with a hint of green going towards the middle. She has a dark grey coat that she take care of and makes it shine when it needs to. There are a couple of scars on her hooves and legs from where she was learning how to sew. Scissor's mane is dark brown with a hint of black going down the right side of the mane. Her mane is normally over her right shoulder and her fringe is swept to the side so she can see. Her tail hits the floor but the pattern is different. The black runs down the middle of her tail in a zig-zag. She is a well known dress maker in the country and can be away for weeks at a time because of her job. Her cutie mark is a pair of sewing scissors with red handles. Attached to one of the red handles is a blue ribbon tied to it flowing behind. Harmony Chaser is a young mare unicorn her eyes are light brown. She has a white coat that glistens in the sun and moonlight. Her mane is short but has dashes of midnight blue one or twice through that curly mane and tail. She composes songs for the public and sometimes performs at the castle in Canterlot and the crystal empire. Her cutie mark is a midnight blue music note with a microphone crossing over it.

Because Reasons

Yes, I've read the terms and stuff and no this isn't meant to be takenas hateful or mean or anything like that. This is not going to be me throwing around insults and trying to tear into anyone. I just want to write this because A: I have been guranteed nothing else to do because of it, and B: I want to walk through it all in my head again. So join me for a silly story about names. I doubt anyone around here noticed, aside from those involved due to me just being some nobody newbie, but recently I had decided, in my boredom, to look up a random MLP RP forum to mess around in whenever I had some extra time to kill on something fun and wacky. Now normally I avoid trying to stretch out into other forums due to how tricky it can be getting my particular character accepted due to his talent and love of inventing new machines and gadgets. I can understand this. Technology in the pony world, though randomly fluctuating at times, has been deemed by most to be relatively low in complexity - the idea of even having simple ovens and refridgerators being banned in some cases despite having seen such things in show canon before - so I try to battle this instant brushing off of my character by making clear that his work remains within the realm of already established steam punk style machinery seen within the show itself. Airships, Flim FLam, that kind of stuff. However, I never get my hopes up. I went into this forum almost ceretain that the first response I would get would be in regards to my character's affinity for technology. An immediate "Sorry, but the idea of a mechanical bird assistant seems like quite a stretch for what we've seen in the show so far, and therefore we can't accept this character until he has been toned down and such a thing is removed from his app" was surely waiting for me if I popped my head up long enough to drop off my app then bail. But, to my surprise, this wasn't what was noticed first by others on the forum, but instead his name was what they targeted and felt needed work. "Aroo?" was my first response, this coming way out of left field for me as I'd already been trying to think of a way to plead in vain for my character to slip by with a robo-bird assistant before ultimately giving up and cutting the little guy from the app. "Dang," was my next one. Turned out someone on the forum already owned a character with the same name. Well, technically their names were different in a small way already, one only actually having the disputed name as a nickname, but that mattered little in the end, this mention just being made to leave out no details and not to claim that I was correct from the get go. This was a problem. I couldn't change the name, really I couldn't, and it wasn't out of me just being a jerk about it and claiming that I should have the name just because I said I should have it and my word, even if it came from the mouth of someone new, should be treated as law around here. No, it was because the name was important in many ways to the character. It wasn't just because of how it fit him perfectly, but it also called back to his childhood, held a message about how the path set before you in your youth may not always end where those who set it for you intended, even went so far as to actually olay a part in an old event involving him where it delved into who he was on a deeper level than just it being a silly name for a silly pony. Please stop rolling your eyes. I know I sound like a pretentious jerk waxing on his own idea for a cartoon pony, but that's not what I want you to think. I just want to try and explain why this seemingly simple name change couldn't be done. This character is the oldest one I have, and with age came a cementing of who he was. It wasn't just a name anymore, it was "his" name if that makes any sense. I couldn't change it, because then I would have to change him in terms of his backstory, who he was, how he behaved, etc. It would just feel... wrong to call him anything other than what was his name as that felt like I may as well have just thrown together some new, who cares, forgettable character that wouldn't have been any fun to play or be around, ultimately defeating the point of the forum entirely. A second response was soon posted to my app with the same message about the name. Now, at the time I wasn't actually very bothered about any of this as I was actually relieved. This was a problem, yes, but I felt it would be much easier to negotiate keeping a name then it would be to possibly have to try and convince a member or two about allowing some fancy gadgets to fly. I tried to make a joke, pointing out how the name in question was in fact a nickname while his actual name was slightly different, then asked if it would be possible for the two characters to share the name as, after a very quick look, I'd noticed that this particular forum was positively full of members! Over seven thousand registered users, I believe, and that meant that, by my logic, sharing a name wasn't something that would be unheard of or considered impossible. I mean, I've known plenty of people with my name, and besides if you were to gather up seven thousand people into a single room then ask each what their name was I highly doubt you wouldn't get a few repeats here and there. My request was denied, though I think by someone not actually part of the staff around here? Or not a member of the actual members responsible for characters? I'm still not too sure and could be wrong. Regardless it wasn't going to go through. This person instead gave an example of this naming rule being put into effect, using one of his or her own characters as the example of how a change was needed as well as following up with a suggestion for a name they believed to be similar to what I wanted. Unfortunately, though I appreciate the attempt to help, the suggestion did not hold the same meaning as was evidently believed and I mentioned this in my next post to clarify that I'd listened and subsequently looked into it. What I also mentioned in this response of mine was a couple reasons why I felt a name change would damage the character, then asked if removing his nickname entirely and just keeping his regular name(which was what his nickname was only with both words pushed together) would be enough as with the space between one could, admittedly pretty weakly, argue that their names were already different. I also mentioned the number of members currently registered to the sight and my opinion of how unlikely it would be that nobody would ever run into anyone with a similar name. I was still trying to be light about it, though looking back at my posts I can see that it could have been very easy for one to misinterpret my being playfully snarky through a mention of how the earlier name suggestion failed to properly fit the character but was accurate in describing myself and the situation as just being annoyed or upset. Not my intention, but the damage may or may not have been done. The response was simple, stating that my reasons given for the name could be considered similar to those of the other character continued ending a suggestion for me to contact members of the RPH for assistance and ending with a warning that they would demand the same. Left with nothing to do, as I at the time wasn't sure who the correct people to contact were - a quick scroll up the page having been all I would have needed to find out had I not distracted myself - I instead became curious about what I'd been told so far about this rule and earlier cases. A friend of mine, off site whom I had been talking to about all of this, told me that she had actually looked up the example that had been provided and urged me to check it for myself. Being curious, I was more than happy to, and found that the name change wasn't actually as complete as I'd been led to believe. From what I saw, the character still shared the same name as another character on the forum, only with the addition of a second word after the first name. What's more is I saw that said character had actually been accepted with this small change less than a week prior to when I showed up. Or, at least that's what I gathered from a glance. I could be mistaken with the app actually having been accepted only a few days prior or even hours, but I digress. Confused, I wrote another reply addressing this, quoting the member who'd mentioned their character and pointing out how all that was needed for it to be accepted was another name added in. Wondering if this was really all there was to it when it came to side stepping this issue I gave an example of my character's name with the addition of a silly and fake middle name that would not be known to anyone other than himself and his parents, threw in a joke as I was still trying to be fun about it, and then asked if this would suffice. I also again mentioned the small difference between my characters legitimate name and that of the other character it was similar too. Now, I know you probably think that was stupid - "Why keep mentioning it if it didn't work the first couple times" right? - but at the time I was just wondering why it hadn't been enough to begin with. Technically it was a different name, just as the example they'd given me was also technically a different name albeit it much more clear at a glance, but if all you had to do to keep the name you wanted was to just pretend the character had another name then what was the point? The first response I got was from the person who'd given the example I was now talking about, though they didn't actually respond to what i'd said so much as just tell me that the guys I should be talking to were mostly at work but would surely assist me when they could. Fine. I understand that. I let it go for the time being and said I was okay with waiting by giving a cheery "okie doke" coupled with a grinning Pinkie Pie, still trying to keep it as light in tone as I could. The next post was from one of the SRP people. I knew from their badge thingy, and even now I'm just assuming it meant Senior RolePlayer, but I may be mistaken. They said that as long as the official name was not the same or a variation of one then it would be fine. This was the only message they posted and did not participate in the rest of these shenanigans. Wonderful! I could just make up some whatever middle name just to differentiate the apps and then ignore it ever existed! I replied with a declaration that he would have two hopefully humorous middle names that none but he and his parents would know, as well as three joke scenarios as to the order of the names and why he never used them. I updated the name in the app and left it there to be judged. What followed were a couple messages that were me clarifying a joke I made and having a laugh with one of the members. Light stuff, was friendly enough, no issues. Next person to post on the app was the second person to have replied to me originally, who started by congratulating me on a job well done which... looking back I'm surprised I hadn't made a snarky comment about that since it looks kind of out of place now, almsot like they were being snarky themselves and taking a jab. I dunno if that was actually what they meant, but that's the impression I'm getting now as I read the post once more. Eh. Anyway, they went on to explain that they were in fact the owner of the character that had the same name as mine which at this point was not actually news to me as I had understandably looked into it myself not long after this had all started. His or her explanation character only made me wonder why people would be incapable of differentiating the two characters even if they had the names as to me they seemed pretty different from each other. Both were from a farmer background, yes, but one was still a child while the other was an adult, one lived on a farm with her parents while the other lived on their own in a workshop in the middle of a city and one was a trouble maker while the other was an inventor. Beyond the name, and I suppose childhoods, they seeemd pretty different to me, and this only made me wonder why it was believed there could be any confusion at all even if they shared the exact same name, especially since I saw very little chance of them even ever meeting at any point in time unless purposfully arranged. Anyway, they went on to say they liked what they read in the app, which I appreciate and am thankful for, but pointed out that the name of the topic was still as I had originally written it and only the name in the app itself had been changed. They told me that if I changed the name in the topic that they would gladly pass it on to whatever the next stage was for hopeful character apps. Now, the slightly embarassing reason as to why the main title of the app hadn't been changed when I'd plugged in the extra names originally wasn't because I had intended for it to stay that way. I just didn't know how to edit the title as I was used to a different forum set up... And, yes, I do know now that the button to do so was right next to the button for saving an edit to my post. I think. But anyway, I did as I was asked. Now, this is where I believe I had made a mistake. During this entire exchange back and forth about the name, I had still been talking to friends about it, as could be expected. We joked about the name I had made and how we felt that the way of getting around the rule was kinda silly and all that stuff. Out of it, I decided I would try some and add some satire into the situation by adding not two but many new middle names to the character, which I had found funny on their own. I mean, at this point I was certain I would be accepted as I'd found clear evidence of someone else having gotten through with the same thing, and while I knew they would ask me to shorten the list of names, I doubted it would evolve into an actual issue. In my next post I pointed out how this felt like jumping through hoops, that it seemeed like they were making me make changes that ultimately would mean nothing as I would simply never acknowledge these supposed middle names my character then had and that there seemed to be no real purpose to any of it, claiming my original name with its space between words could have served the same purpose on its own. This was a mistake, I feel, because, as I should have predicted and from what I could tell, this was taken as insulting criticism. This was confirmed after the member asking for the edit explained that they had recommended the app for further analysis, as the original person to reply to my post in the beginning expressed how they believed my addition of more middle names to prove my point was mean spirited and a poor first impression to make. Perhaps. Maybe I just view things moe critically than others, but I can see how this was true. In my reply I explained how I felt that the staff was demanding I rewrite my character that I've had for a long time simply because he happened to have the same nickname as someone else. I went on to explain that I had not meant for my message and the middle names to be viewed as any kind of malicious gesture. It was meant to show what it looked like from my side, that I felt this was becoming more and more unfair, almost to where it felt like a form of passive aggressive bullying. I gave an exaggerated example of how I felt it was being handled, touching on how I believed the fact that I was a new member may have lessened the chances of anyone around here actually caring about my desire to keep the name and just being harsh out of not having reason to worry about me. I then again went on to explain how the example from earlier in this whole situation was still confusing me as to what the point of it all was seeing how the tagged on middle name wouldn't ever be known or used. I expressed how changing the name would pretty much kill any desire I would have to play the character, leaving a bad taste in my mouth whenever I would try, which would just lead to me not having any reason to bother to begin with. I then tried to clarify that I was up to that point laughing about the situation and still finding it silly that the idea of having the same name as someone else is far from impossible to try and lighten the mood some. I never heard from that person again, and for what it's worth I apologize if I upset you. You seemed nice and I thank you for trying to help. Moving on, the next post made was from another member of the SRP. The expected response was given, the name being too long with this person saying that no pony character would have more than three names, which by itself I would say is debateable. Claiming it's rare in real life does not mean its warranted to ignore the very real possiblity as it has indeed happened before. Getting back on track, they told me the name had to be changed, which I was of course fine with. Like I said, I doubted they would let that many middle names get by - likelihood of such a thing set aside - and I was completely fine with shortening the name down to one or two middle names. What confused me however was what they said next. They told me that what some people did to differentiate their characters from others and get accepted was to add a name to the middle and end of their current names, which was by this point very well tread ground. I was aware of this, I had mentioned it several times when pointing out how such a thing had indeed been acceptable in the past and I had even agreed to do it earlier in the thread. I didn't know why this needed to be mentioned once again and it bugged me. But that wasn't as bad as what was said next. They told me that I could, instead of adding a name as I already said I would, keep the name I needed and make it a nickname - which it technically already had been but I didn't feel like arguing that - then just make up an entirely new name for the character, which I also had already explained I couldn't do. They then said that if I did choose the nickname and new name path that no one else would ever need to acknowledge or even know what his real name was as he could just go by his nickname full time. This was terribly confusing. My first thought was "Well, then what's the point?" If I could keep the name as a nickname, make up some fake name, and then just use the nickname without having anyone ever acknowledge or even know the actual name, then why not just let me have the name I need and be done with it? What purpose could that possibly serve aside from just pleasing some, as far as I can tell, unwritten rule that would ultimately change nothing in the long run? My response was curt. I wasn't smiling about this anymore. It felt like everyone trying to resolve this was just throwing out different solutions that danced around the simple fact that I would end up with the name anyway regardless of what silly thing I did on the app. I told them I already explained why I couldn't change the name. I then said I changed the name and kept one fake middle name to satisfy, further explaining that no one would ever know or use it. I then was bluntly honest about my opinion over the situation by saying it was silly. The message I wrote carried a frustrated undertone that I hadn't bothered to try and hide or defuse with fun jokes anymore. The truth was that this had gone on for so long and I had grown so tired of it all that I just wanted to get my fake middle name accepted and move on. The next post was from one of the higher ups around here. They repeated, again, that they wanted different names so as to avoid confusion in active roleplay. Right away I'm confused, as what the person before this one had told me seemed to not be in line with this kind of thinking at all. How would me making up a name for my app, but then walk around with a nickname that was the only name any other character would know supposed to avoid this same confusion? Not to mention that I had already changed the name to include a middle one to differentiate, which made this a pointless reminder. They acknowledged this though in their next line, claiming that my having added a fake middle name was not something they were prepared to allow. So... Why not? He or she then mentioned how long the forum had been around for which I couldn't have cared less about at the time, but followed up by saying that they had countless people attempt to exploit every loophole you could imagine in the past. Well, that's nice and all, but the problem is I wasn't just making up a loophole. I had seen what others had done and had decided to do the same, and if they were indeed so thorough about this then one would think they would have prevented these other players from getting their characters accepted as well. The very fact that I saw examples of the same exact thing I was doing getting a green light was an issue with this, and this wasn't even with mentioning that the owner of the other character that shared my characters name had already said that having two middle names would suffice way back on the first page of this whole thing. They continued with three bullet points. One clarified that I wasn't being bullied. That's nice, but that was still the impression I was getting, especially with this random decision that I wasn't allowed the middle name I'd added. The second was how this had nothing to do with changing my character, italicised for some reason, in any way. Except the name. And all of the things that changing the name would change with it. As I explained. Several times. The third one started with this person again mentioning how old the forum was, which is wonderful for you but still not helpful, and then said that, if anything, me coming in with my character and his name then adding a fake name was disrespectful to the other player. First off, I fail to see how that makes sense. Secondly, if that's the case, then where do you draw the line? The example I had kept going to for this, the character that had the same name as another but added a second one so as to get accepted, should have qualified under this same realm of disrespectful gestures, should it not? In the end that person was allowed to keep the name and all they had to do was tag on a second name they hadn't actually originally intended and I'm assuming didn't actually care about. Also, this directly conflicted with what the previous person had said when claiming I could make up a name then just use a nickname for everything. Wouldn't making up an entirely fake name and then just using the name I wanted anyway also be disrespectful in whatever way this new person believed it would be? Again, I would like to point out that the owner of the other character had already claimed that my adding two middle names just to seperate the characters more would be enough, so I have a very very hard time understanding how this third bullet point was supposed to make sense if the person who owned the other character had already said it would work that way. The person then went on to describe a metaphor for the situation that I didn't care for as I felt it did a poor job describing anything, so I wont get into it. They went on to say that while I may have not agreed with the naming policy, which wasn't true as at that point I actually didn't agree with what I was then ready to call them jerking me around, then explained that the application process was supposed to be a test to see if one is a capable player (without first seeing how they behave in a thread or some form of example post...?) and show one's ability to compromise and what have you. At this point I was just openly frustrated. It wasn't even all about the name anymore so much as how the people I kept talking to bouncing back and forth between what was and wasn't an acceptable compromise. One person said that adding a middle name is enough. I do it. One person says change the entire namebut use a nickname and keep the real one secret, while another said that having a middle name that was being presented as the obvious fake it was was supposed to be insulting, which to me makes me wonder why the idea of making up an *entire* fake name and using the one you want anyway wasn't insulting. My next post, which I didn't bother trying to sugar coat at all at this point, started with me saying that I wasn't the one thinking up loopholes. I said that they were the ones coming up with varying ideas on solutions that contradicted each other but all ultimately ended with someone having the name they wanted to begin with. I explained my opinion on the "insulting middle name" and how it made no sense to me. I even mentioned how having the same name could have actually been a good thing as it would have led to fun interactions if ever the characters did in fact meet. Again, for who knows how many times at that point, I pointed towards the example of the character who had been so recently accepted that had done the exact same thing I had. Up till now, I don't think any of the people in the thread had actually openly acknowledged that example, which to me either means I had missed it, or they had no excuse for it and chose to never respond. I also pointed out how the thrid bullet point contradicted what previous staff had informed me was a viable avenue for getting past this. This person's next post started off by saying that I was missing the point entirely. Maybe, but they seemed to be missing ine as well. This wasn't about the name anymore, not really, this was becoming to me more about this inconsistency between the people I thought were supposed to help with this. They then said that what was considered acceptable for older characters does not put me under the same paradigm. Hold it. Right. There. First off, I was surprised to see someone finally acknowledge that someone had done what I had and gotten away with it. Secondly, "older characters"? So, either this meant that submitting your character less than a week before mine classified you in some old category of the "before times" or he or she had actually meant "older members" and had just flat out said that veterans get special privileges. I remember saying earlier in the thread that it felt like I was being given a hard time because I was new and therefore didn't matter to the people in charge, and this line right here feels like confirmation. So I can't do it because I'm new(or in this case *barely* newer with my submission)? That is as far away from fair as I can imagine and just makes me think that this is one of those forums where "veteran" members rule. Where they get away with things that someone like me can't just because they signed up earlier and got friendly with the people in charge. This person said they keep cases exclusive to characters, even though a staff member earlier in the thread had told me what people often did to get around this, one of these suggestions having been what I had already done. Another sign of inconsistenc where one says its unique to each case while another claims people get around it with the same methods often. At this point the admin basically just told me to change the name or not bother. After this some random newly registered member decided to get involved. Since they contributed little and were wholy unpleasant, and since I still hold firm to the idea that none of this concerned him or her to begin with, I will leave their messages and my responses out of this. At this point it just devolved firther. I flat out told them they were going back and forth between what is and isnt acceptable, I changed my name again and told them to explain why my new arrangment(reflective of the accepted character that was only days older than mine) was unacceptable, one of them said that the discussion wasn't about the character but my attitude. All of this culminated in a, in my opinion, very over dramatic post from the administrator claiming that he or she loathed to think what I might do in the middle of a roleplay despite how they have never seen me in any threads beyond one where I point out how unhelpful and random they were at the time. the thread was then locked. They also fell back on the usual "its a free service we run and therefore you should never complain ever about anything" line that I've seen very amateur administrators and moderators use before when treating a forum like their plaything by ignoring its members and twisting or deleting the rules regularly to fit their mood. Am I accusing these people of doing the same? No. I'm just tired of people using that line like its a kid's magic shield on a playground It's criticism, not me trying to take over your forum, stop being so dramatic. But anyway, what do I think of this in the end? I think neither side handled it well. I think I should have made myself keep to my more playful and lighter jokes and messages in the beginning and prevented this from getting to me. I also think that th people whos responsibilty it was to handle this had actually been clear about what was and wasn't okay without contradicting themselves and giving fake advice that only led to me being road blocked by someone who didn't agree with their ideas and had decided on their own rules. In the end, this was a terrible first impression from me and a really terrible first experience on this forum. Right now I'm debating whether or not it's worth even trying to get the thread unlocked as the admin had invited me to message them about as in the end I'm just the new guy that got into a fight with staff. Despite the message of love and tolerate perpetuated by the show this forum is based off of, I doubt it's reasonable to actually have faith that such an idea would hold up after this. Those who saw the thread probably think I'm an a-hole and sided with the ones in charge, as is to be expected as they are familiar and supposed to represent the laws of this site. And those who didn't read the thread will most likely just assume that nothing I said or tried to say had any weight to it and default to a negative opinion out of heresay and assumptions. I get that no one want's me here now and that's fine. Personally I feel that if this is what I have to expect from it then it's probably not the place for me anyway, as such a fuss over a name on both sides is, as I said many times in the thread, silly. Anyway, I'll think about it. I doubt anyone will read this, possibly for more reasons than one, but I just wanted to go through it in my head again. There it is. The whole story as best as I can describe it from my end. Hope it was an interesting read at the very least.
13. Hello everypony! Flight Risk here (Risky if you prefer a shorter name to address me by), to tell you about a game idea I was hoping to run here on the Canterlot forums. Is anypony familiar with Pathfinder, or perhaps Dungeons & Dragons? If the answer is yes, draw yourself to the next question. If the answer is no and you wish to learn more, also draw yourself to the next question anyway! Have you ever seen the "Ponyfinder" rules for Pathfinder? These include several different ways to incorporate MLP: FiM into a fantasy-like setting (or a more modern one if that were preferred!) I have two links to show everypony to help them educate themselves on the subject matter I speak of: Pathfinder Classes: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/classes.html Race Guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-GH6H2O2dYpkzSViZF9uS8keNAeMeLHDHId3vBjR9iY/edit?pli=1 Something to keep in mind about races and classes: I'm really leery about allowing evil races (like the Lunar Ponies, Changelings, and Dragons) unless the players are willing to play GOOD characters. Like, the exceptions to the rule, you know?) What I am to do is get a small group of players who are interested in playing to create characters (with a little help from your friendly neighborhood Game Master) and are willing to play in a setting shortly after, or many years before the current series. So, can I have a role call of interested ponies? Or perhaps I could field some questions?
14. Ok I saw some of these happen and fail but I am trying to do one of these anyway first we will start off in the human world and then if enough people join we will take it from there I also have a question if this happen in real life if you would do it or not but more on that later so basically we are on earth something happens and you get the choose to got to equestria I don't want to get hope up just to get shot down so if more people are interest let's say about 4 others beside me I will get it started
15. The title i hope says it all. I play Yu-Gi-Oh on an online downloaded. It is a dueling simulator that is automatic, but i'm nearly sure anyone who actually reads this knows this. Anyway, on the site are tag duels, so 2v2, and i just love them. But the problem is my decks, they always hurt my teammate before they hurt my opponents, so i am looking for anyone who wants to join forces to cause pain in tag-matchs, or just have some kind of friendly rivalry with someone. If you're interested, having a skype account would make things soo much easier, and we'd use a combo of deck ideas, yours, mine, whichever looks the funner honestly. Anyway, if you're intersted, add me on skype shadowflare8 And, if anyone wants to learn, god, i'd LOVE to teach you! So if you've got no idea how to play yugioh, or are just starting, please, please, don't be scared of me. Anyway, catch ya later guys.
16. It's a new direction for Canterlot, so a new pictures thread is needed! Well perhaps not needed, but hey its a fun way for us as a community to share our favorite drawings of the ponies we love, right? Just keep to the following please: Pictures should be based around My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic somehow Only G (BBFC U) to PG-13 (BBFC 12) rated images; I know most pics are not rated, just use the aforementioned ratings as a guide. If still confused, just go with the "no porn, no gore" rule. Regular, anthro, and human pony pictures are all welcomed. I recommend using the spoiler tags to hide the pictures for easier scrolling, not a requirement though. I'll start off:
17. Premise and setting A small concept I thought up of. over the past few days of playing. Imagining what might happen if Equestria treated the Changelings as complete aliens, and how they would combat the threat. I would like to take a moment to say that there will be tons of headcannon, and tons of explanations that may not follow your thoughts, but my ruling is final on this matter. The Technology level, is quite sporadic. The most advanced weapon a pony has with them, is a pre-WW1 to WW1 Rifle (Ie, Springfield, . No shotguns, no semi-auto pistols at this point (revolvers up to the rifle era-range are permitted). Other than that, crossbows, bows and their associated variants, swords, assorted melee arms, and matchlocks, and flintlocks are available for use. Note that I don't like anyone having anything bigger than a personal weapon, so no big cannons, not "suddenly portable Gatling guns". Magic-based weapons must be cleared through me. Use of a pre-WW1 to WW1 rifle must be cleared through me. Aside from that, armour is still primitive, metal platings, or leather gear. And at this point there is nothing else. To to TLDR Tech level: Pre-WW1 to WW1 rifle is highest permitted. No Semi-Auto pistols, no MGs, No Gatling guns, no cannons of any size. Revolvers, flint/match lock firearms are fair game. As well as swords, and assorted stringed bow weapons. Armour is still Leather and metal. Magic-based arms are usable at my discretion. Advancement of the roleplay depends on how the players perform. Changelings that are brought back from the field are usually autopsied (if dead), or interrogated (if alive), just like in the game. It takes time to research and develop the new improvements, and that time will progress as while the agents are in field. The end result of the team influences what the Changelings do next, so care must be taken to not make things too much to handle. So recap: Moving the RP onwards is solely dependant on how the Players act. You can mess up, and cause the Changelings to be bold and deadly, or you can annihilate the attacking force. You can bring back tons of the dead for autopsies, or you can capture the living to interrogate. (Nb, Interrogation not available from the start, you need the tech to bring them back without an Changeling army assaulting XCOM HQ) Speaking of which, an "agent" is the character you use to join. When it comes time to make that application for him, he must seem "unique", special, and somepony that might be considered for a black-project that involves the fate of Equestria. That means, no one-liners, no short stops ("He shot the Changeling" is much much different compared to "He took aim at the Changeling's body, and fired a single shot at it"), and I will say it now, An stat system will be implemented to make it easier to compare and determine capabilities of the Changelings and the Agents (eg. Autopsy on Changeling can reveal certain stats about it). On a scale of one to 7, 3 being the average for all ponies, 1 meaning the pony is subpar in that stat, and 7 meaning it's exceptional in the stat. Strength: Self Explanatory. Applies to doing anything with physical force required. Endurance: Also Self Explanatory. A gauge for how many hits you can last. Thought you cannot die (unless you want to), the worst you will get is into a critical condition. Agility: Gauges two things, How far and fast you can run, and how well you are able to respond to enemy attacks. Dexterity: How good you are with making your weapon "dance" (in other words, how fast that sword can move, or how accurate that gun is). A gauge of accuracy if you will. (How hard you hit and if you hit at all are different) Will: For non-unicorns, it shows how much you can take before pressure sets in and you break. Also shows susceptibility to mind-magic. For Unicorns, it also determines how strong their magic is. Every Agent has 15 points to assign (4 on all for a "jack of trades, master of none" ). Everypony comes with a free point in all stats (because of your trained backgrounds). Your stat should reflect your backstory, character's physique, and Cutie Mark ability. Changelings will perform many actions that irk the ponies in XCOM, and the Royal Family. Ever since they beefed up their own screening, it has become easier to detect and identify whenever Changelings are on the move. Now that they are bolder, they tend to abduct ponies from towns, conduct terror campaigns, etc. Not to mention they have adapted multiple forms that are appropriate for their function and purpose while on the field (yes, expect big, hulking Changelings with giant claws). Changelings also have their purpose-built awesome magic that's dangerous. I will randomly decide whichever one of these is happening. The course of one activity shouldn't take many posts... if everyone does it with much detail. Otherwise things will go on for longer. I will give brief rest times inside XCOM HQ to RP you character's outside of battle, as they will also serve as a counter for developing/creating equipment and items. Test Character Sheet I welcome any comments, suggestions, and interest in this roleplay. Do keep in mind that this is basic framework, I will expand it more as I think of more.
18. Hai thar~ Just curious as to what any of you personally would think if any mare on the show became, at some point in their lives, a mother. Here's mine, but share your own thoughts as to what would happen! Twilight Sparkle As a princess, Twilight Sparkle would have to rule a kingdom, though she would make time to spend with her child. Though, maybe a little too much as she becomes a little over protective and keeps watch every second of the day. Also, for 'fun', she would make her child read constantly, making that child hate books over time. Pinkie Pie As one who parties constantly, Pinkie Pie would sadly have to give away her child to an adoption center. Though, on that off-chance that she doesn't, the child would have to be fillysat every second of the day. Either way, she'll probably always be there for her child, giving him/her the giggles and smileys. She just knows that she can't properly take care of him/her. Rarity There are two ways this can go: 1. She forgets she even has a child and thinks of him/her as her assistant. 2. She quits being a fashionista to become a full-time, loving mother. >w< Fluttershy Marries Discord. 'Nuff said. Applejack The-would-be-best-fit-mother, she would teach her child the importance of friendship. And although they would be doing hard work all day, Applejack would always find a way to make the experience fun and everlasting for her child to enjoy. Rainbow Dash At first shocked at the idea of it, she'll grow to learn that she'll love her child every increasing day. And though she knows that she would have to put her dreams of becoming a Wonderbolt on hold, she'll be happy to know that her child has what it takes to become even better than her with enough training. Derpy She would try her hardest to be a good mother, but on occasion, fail. But it would be okay, because the child (whom didn't receive the same genes from her mother) would love her all the same way, and help her out in public. Princess Celestia HA! Princess Luna Would have no previous experience to raise a child, but with a little help from friends and family, she would become a great mother. Princess Cadence Knowing that she once was abandoned as a child, she and Shining Armor will pour their love and time into the child. Queen Chrysallis She'll love her child to DEATH! Cheers~ Kodokuna Haisha
19. ZigTurn flew around Ponyville's train station,"OOOOOH,I just can't wait to get there...what was that place called again..eh,I'll figure out when I arrive!" She said excitedly, her light tan mane rushing behind her and her Maroon coat darkening her Yellow eyes. A pony yelled at her to take a seat,so she did, right next to another pony,"Umm..Hi there,I'm ZigTurn, but call me Zig,or Ziggy!" She extended out a hoof for the pony to shake. ((P.S, Derpyy is the tourguide ))
20. Figure to start a new thread of favorite FiM images. What I am looking for in posts are actual artwork done by fans of the show. Artwork from the serious to the amusing and cute are welcome, but keep it to actual art (vectors are welcome) that you really like for one reason or another; what I mean by that is no memes or demotivationals, etc. Extra rule: Just have some thoughts to go with each pic to do with why you wanted to post it, (nothing deep or anything is needed). Only other rule is keep the pictures general audience. We have a pictures thread for naughty suggestive material already. Well I'll just start off then: Fun fact: Chopsticks were a griffin invention that never took off anywhere else: This is one of my favorite Applejack pictures ever. Not sure why, perhaps it is the simple cuteness of it all: Oh Derpy, you and your silly shipping imagination: Oh Lyra, you can just ask for a hug All I want for Christmas... ;_; Show off your favs!
21. "Tonight is the night! All of you lucky ponies will have the once in a lifetime offer,Turning into wolves! You will see the moon, and howl on it too!"Delilah yelled out as she was getting her magic ready,"Who's ready to turn into a wolf?I wanna hear who does?!"She yelled out even more.
22. Peaking from the hills on the horizon, the sun shined with its piercing lights to begin the day. The rays tickled Equestria's surface with its warmth, and provided substantial illumination. The sun was much brighter than any light or any candle. As the sun rose higher into the sky, the dark which fell upon the Foothills seemed to retreat. The sky, once a navy, began to lighten in its tint to a nice bright blue. It was easy to notice the puffy clouds in the sky, spaced apart from one another and white against the suns rays. The clouds would provide a nice shade, and it was seen already that the weather would involve no rain showers. As the sun continued to rise, the brightness of the massive star seemed to shoot its beams through a closed glass window which belong to a particular pegasus' cabin on the outskirts of Baltimare. The beam touched the edge of the pony's bed, and made its way up to shine directly on the ponies face. The warmth, and the light of the sun caused the pegasus to stir, where she was laying on her back, she rolled over onto her stomach. Except, by rolling over onto her stomach the mare fell directly onto her wooden floors.Thump. "Ugggggh..." Musica moaned from the pain on her legs, and face. Cold wooden floors wasn't the best thing to wake up to. Bending her legs, the mare tried to push herself into a stand, having the weight of her covers and maby even her pillow on her body to fight against her. Placing all of her hooves against the ground, Musica pushed against the surface of the floor and lifted herself up into a stand. The covers seemed to shed from her body and slink onto the floor, the pillow somehow falling back onto the bed. Shaking her head, the pegasus tried to wake herself up from the groggy state she found herself in. "This is the fourth time this week this has happened..." Musica muttered, complaining to herself. Her chestnut locks moved, frazzled and tangled and far from tidy on both her mane and tail. Taking her time, Musica mosied on over to a clear place in her room, and began to stretch. She would bend each leg, then extend it outward. Her head tilted and rolled to and from each side, and she flexed and expanded her wings, rotating them in a circling pattern as she stood in place. It was rather quiet in the cabin, though outside the birds were singing and speaking to one another. The mare finished her stretches, her eyes surveying her room for anything to straighten up aside her bed. Nothing. Nodding to herself, she moved to her bed and leaned down, picking up the corner of the blanket with her teeth and jerking it upward. The fabric seemed to flare out and neatly fall over her bed as Musica directed it, making up her bed with ease. She fluffed the pillow and set it against the headboard, and moved to her vanity. At the vanity, Musica didn't spend a lot of time. She grabbed a hold of a wooden brush, running the bristles through her wavy chestnut mane first, then her tail to rid of the tangles and to brush her locks into their place. Her sea-green eyes stared at her reflection in the mirror quietly, finding herself satisfied with her looks, though she wished that she didn't feel so average. Her looks wasn't a problem, despite the fact she found herself often bored with it. Returning the brush to its home on the vanity, Musica moved then to her wardrobe. Opening the doors with her front hooves, she grabbed a different ensemble from her usual colours. Today, she chose to wear a orchid/violet purple pinstripe vest with a matching pinstripe bow. The colour was so majestic against her cream coat, she normally only wore it if she was going to be exposed to a lot of ponies eyes. Throwing on the vest, and tying the bow into the back of her mane, the pony finally departed from her bedroom. The sound of her two pairs of silver bangles bounced against her hooves as they rested above them on her left front leg, and right back. She pranced through her living quarters into the kitchen, and grabbed an apple from a basket for breakfast. Musica had not much time to spare after she prepared herself for the day ahead. With no lessons to teach that were scheduled in the morning, the pegasus was free of all responsibilities. It had been a while since she had been to Baltimare, and it was time that she paid a visit to the city. Eating the apple, and hunting down her white saddlebag, the mare left the house with ease to begin her day. She lived on the outskirts of Baltimare, near White Tail Wood... but it shouldn't take her too long. With a smile on her face, she went about her way.
23. Hello all you bronies and pegasisters! It's me and I've decided to take on the fun personal task of spilling my own ramblings for everyone to see. I know!! Exciting right? Anyways, I have chose to start three different blogs. This one I will dedicate to my own personal ramblings of things, probably brony stuff. I will feature opinions and ideas in this section and give my viewpoints on happenings around the fandom. Since we're in ponyless Summer mode, this will update when I have things to say, hopefully about once every month at least. My other two blogs are a music sharing blog, and a RP tips and tricks blog. My music blog will be updated three or four times a week, and feature short ramblings about some of my favorite music I have found. The RP tips and tricks blog will be dedicated to refining ones writing skills as I take my amateur experience in the role play realm and offer my best knowledge to those who seek it. For my ramblings blog, expect updates for certain events like Fiesta Equestria, which is a convention I plan on going to in Houston in June, and when season 4 starts, I will probably bring week-to-week reviews of things I see in the show, and probably dedicate a paragraph(s) to how great Applejack is. This blog will contain the freedom of lacking a specific topic, which means I may even talk about things non-pony. But I assure you, I will do my best to present things that will only be fun and interesting to read. So until my next update, enjoy my new blogs!
24. Okay,so this Role Play is based on the Inheritance Trilogy/series Well, in this Role Play,we will explore Alagaesia and be riders, magicians,or even characters from the books! We will start off in the book of Eragon, the moments will not all be the same as the book, but the subject will be alike. Okay, let's get cracking, here are the Characters that you can apply to be: Eragon: Murtagh:(Eragon's half-brother) Myself,I called being him Angela:(Witch, pretty much): Solembum(Angela's werecat): Meow Saphira(Eragon's dragon): Rawr Thorn(Murtagh's dragon in the second book): Rawr! Brom(the storyteller): l[]l Rowan(Eragon's cousin): :fish: Ajihad(leader of the Varden): Arya(courier elf): I also call being her Galbatorix(ruler of Alagesia): The Twins(along with the varden, one RPer for each of 'em): N-asuada(Ajihad's daughter): Urgals(bad guys): Kulls(big urgals, bigger than man,bad guys): Orik(Dwarf who helps Eragon around Tronjheim): Those will be the only characters, simply because we already will have tons of players Another thing,no over RPing: Not ALL roleplayers will be on,so if we leave off on a subject, and it is someone's turn to reply, just wait, don't skip over or speed ahead,if you do,you will kindly be asked to revoke your character, and leave the RolePlay,OR I will just give you a warning, you can get 3 warnings, until you will be asked to leave Now Then, whenever you speak,if you are either Thorn or Saphira(dragons) you will speak in italicized words, like so: You too little one, just NOT in bold letters though! When roleplaying,it is wise to know little to all information on Eragon, cause if you do not know, then you will get lost in this role play very quickly! So read up on Wikipedia or any other resources on Eragon,so you will have some common knowledge. Okay then, here is the Application, which of course, you will post here, when all spots are taken,I will post and state once more, who is who, then I will start off the role play Other important news: NO GODMODDING,if you do so,I will kindly ask you to leave the RolePlay, depending on the extent. If we are ever put to battle by some of the bad guys, don't just block every attack! Let yourself be hit,so we can keep this Role play Alive and up and running at a good pace! If you know of the Ancient language in Eragon, then use it! Just be sure to right in parentheses what it means, for some players will not know what, for example, what Brisingr means,so you would write something like ex.: "BRISINGR!" (Fire) Yelled Eragon as he released his arrow..." Like so,got it? That is it,so let's get this going!

Weather Ponies

Here's a bit on how I think the weather works in Equestria; feel free to comment if you feel like something doesn't quite fit with canon or if your ideas differ greatly from my own. I figure that managing the weather for a gigantic nation like Equestria is no easy task. It's probably a huge operation composed of many teams and departments, and it's mostly government funded. The centre of these operations is Cloudsdale, though Canterlot has some say in the operations as well. First of all, the Pegasi don't have to control the weather. In Aquellia, for example, the weather is left to its own devices as it is in the Everfree Forest. The clouds do form naturally and move at will. But the Pegasi can control the weather due to ancient magic and have been doing so since the days of the three tribes. It started out that they just pushed the naturally-formed clouds around, but they later developed methods to create the clouds themselves. Sometimes being a weather pony involves collecting and arranging clouds to form showers, but a lot of the time, it also involves clearing the clouds. Sometimes these clouds were made in Cloudsdale and have just escaped the storerooms, but a lot of the time these are stray natural clouds that have formed and cause problems. Pegasi have access to magic of their own: the magic that allows them to fly, for example, also affects the weather. They can use this magic to slow or speed up winds, raise and lower the temperature of the air, and cause or prevent thunderstorms, hurricanes and tornados. Because the forces of the weather can be dangerous, there are various levels of teams involved in the management of the weather. At the top, you have the meteorological engineers. These are Pegasi who are highly skilled in weather magic as a result of having a university degree in the study of the creation and formation of meteorological phenomena; both how it works naturally as well as what Pegasi can do to modify these natural behaviours. My OC, Whirligig, dreams of one day becoming a meteorological engineer. And then you have the various teams beneath them; field weather ponies. A university degree is not required to be a field weather pony, but an apprenticeship is. If the meteorological engineers are the architects and designers of the weather, these guys are the carpenters, electricians and other manual tradesponies who make the weather happen. They are often broken into teams and sent to towns all across Equestria. Each team has a supervisor who makes sure everything runs smoothly, as well as five or six ponies who form the team itself, though the size of the team varies based on demand. Ponyville's weather team is supervised by Rainbow Dash, but there are other Pegasi underneath her who also help out, as seen in look before you sleep and Hurricane Fluttershy. My OC Stormwing is a field weather pony for the town of Trottingham. Then you have the weather factory and its workers (as well as various levels of management within the factory. Obviously there are going to be some Metorological Engineers overseeing operations here as well, and then department managers and quality control). A lot of Equestria's weather starts life in the factory. Here clouds of all types are made in addition to Rainbows, Snowflakes and electrical systems. There is also a great deal of testing and research done in the factory in close association with the University of Cloudsdale. This research includes the formation and operation of tornados, as well as the containment of storm systems. In between the factory and the field teams, there are also delivery ponies who work with the factory. These are teams of Pegasi who 'carry' the weather systems created in Cloudsdale to all the towns in Equestria. Clouds are usually corralled and transported that way, with special measures taken when it comes to electrically active clouds. Rainbows are tinned and carried in this manner. When a rainbow is to be used, a field weather pony has only to open the can and pour the liquid rainbow across the sky. The story of Snowdrop fits in nicely - snow began life in the same way rain did. It wasn't until Snowdrop came along that hoof-made snowflakes were introduced to Equestria. Clouds are made in the usual manner, then infused with hoof-made snowflakes before being sent out to the rest of Equestria. I'm still trying to work on my wind theories. I've read a few fanfics where there was a tornado creation section in the weather factory, but Hurricane Fluttershy suggests that Tornados can easily be made in the field with a lot of wing power. I'm thinking maybe tornados are made in the factory and then, like rainbows, somehow transported to the rest of Equestria when needed. I don't think they'd be needed often though, except maybe to assist with moving water when ponies aren't keen on breaking records by doing it the old-fashioned way. Obviously the use of more dangerous elements would be heavily monitored. Cloudsdale itself doesn't have weather systems the same way the rest of Equestria does. They don't have gardens so they don't need precipitation the same way, so they like keeping their clouds in tact (I figure a lot of rain in Cloudsdale would damage the clouds the city is made out of. Cloudsdale does have its own team of weather ponies, but their sole responsibility is keeping the stray clouds out of the city.) Anyways, I just felt like sharing this. I'm not trying to create lore for the WoE, and I don't expect everypony to agree with me on this, but this system will probably be referenced by OCs in some of my RP posts. - Jane
