Roleplay Type: Generation 5 Cast Name: Zephyrina "Zipp" Storm Gender: Female Age: Young mare Species: Pegasus Eye color: Light blue Coat: White (Pink Hue); wings are white, light blue, purple and pink Mane/Tail: Pompadour mane, regular medium-length tail mostly straight, both mane and tail pink with light blue streak. Physique: Athletic, agile, strong, average height Residence: Originally from Queen Haven's palace, lives in the Crystal Brighthouse with her friends in Maretime Bay. Cutie Mark: Pink and blue lightning bolt with a crown. Unique Traits: Zipp sees everything through a skeptical lens. She seeks truth in many things, is loyal to what she believes is true, and her conviction is solidified by her personal experience. History: Zipp is the first born daughter of Queen Haven, current leader of Zephyr Heights. This makes Zipp a princess, and heir to the throne. She gained a little sister, Pipp Petals, who displays more of a celebrity role in the royal family. Zipp was and is far less in the limelight and aspired to do things beyond the confines of her royal roll in Zephyr Heights. While her and her sister were still young, Zipp enjoyed a relatively normal fillyhood, albeit with the privilege that comes with being a member of a royal family. Despite her personality differences with her sister, she had a bond with Pipp that was stronger than she normally shared in public. As she got older, Zipp's rebellious youthful phase pushed her to take the contrary path away from the rest of the members of her family. Queen Haven, to her credit, allowed Zipp the space to explore different avenues in order to give her the freedom to explore her true self, something Zipp is still doing to this day. As a result, Zipp's relationship with her mother is distanced at times, but never severed. Her bond with Pipp, while also never failing, has shown more tension as the two live together away from the pegasus capitol. Despite the rift that developed between Zipp and Pipp as a result of the royals being found to be flightless, their residence in Maretime Bay has become proof of the sisters' resilience to uphold the responsibility the have as the future leaders of the pegasus kind. After pony unification, Zipp and her sister made the choice to live in Maretime Bay, primarily because they wanted to be with their friends they made during the most altering time in their pony lives. Living at the Crystal Brighthouse, Zipp expanded her talents to investigate mysteries, learn about how friendships are made and challenged, and check the health and safety of pegasus ponies living in the bay city that are trying to get used to their new magic. Because of her physical ability and willingness to be flexible, she was able to help champion the training of pegasus ponies learning to hone their skills in flying. The source of magic, the unification crystals and friendship that powers it, is something that has fascinated Zipp ever since moving to Maretime Bay. Whenever something concerning the crystals is going on, she is usually the first one to notice. Today, Zipp is constantly learning about ponies and what makes them special in the new magical world they live in. She knows her place is in the pegasus city as a Princess and future Queen, but she wonders what more it will entail now that Equestria has unified ponies wielding magic. Personality: Zipp is sporty, but not cocky. Though she seems primed for athletic ability, she is not that competitive. She is loyal to those she cares about, but skeptical of new information. She doesn't trust others perspectives very well, and prefers to see things for herself. She can sometimes jump to conclusions and lacks patience to see things through. She enjoys being by herself, but acknowledges the importance of having good close friends she can trust. She would rather have ponies resent her for the truth, than for ponies to respect her for a lie. Summary: Princess Zipp Storm is an exciting young mare who is exploring the world living with ponies of different kinds, something the previous generation of pegasus ponies never did. While living with her close friends in Maretime Bay, she learns what it takes to be a representative of the power of friendship, and how to use her thrill-seeking attitude to improve the lives of the ponies around her. And if she gets to play detective while doing so, all the better!

More practice with humans and shading, and failure...lots of failure. "When you try your best and you don't suceeeee-eeeeed...." That's when you curl up in a corner and rock yourself to sleep. Pretty disheartened about this one, to be honest. The lineart actually came out pretty nicely and I got really excited, but it all went to rubbish once the color came in. Still, better to push on through then to give up and just leave it at lineart like I was tempted to do. I also figured out that I really need to practice drawing different poses and angles. I always have an easier time drawing characters facing to the left of the frame rather than the right...think it's because I'm right-handed. Luna (c) Hasbro -

Remember when Twilight Sparkle was just a unicorn and didnt throw the community into civil war as a result of her new Princess status? Yeah I can't either. Controversy and lols aside, I needed something to do and to get out of this art slump. Plus I felt rusty. So I decided on a quickie of Unicorn!Twilight Sparkle. I have felt boundless joy and pitiless despair. I have seen many things, but in the end I know that my kingdom stands because of the love of its people for this land and for each other. This I vow to protect, to guide, and to prosper. Name: Celestia Sex: Female Age: Adult, though ageless. Living for lifetimes longer than the average pony has given her a unique perspective on the nature of life, the world, and the whims of the aether. Finally, she has personally fought wild beasts, bandits, and villains in the lawless time before the establishment of the Equestrian nation. Suffice to say that Celestia is not a combatant to be trifled with and very few are willing to challenge her full unbridled wrath. Character Summary Mentioning the city of Canterlot immediately evokes images of towering alabaster spires trimmed with gold and appointed with finery both arcane and mundane. Inevitably, any conversation about Canterlot turns to the monarch and chief occupant, Celestia, the Princess of Ponykind. Like the seat of her government, Celestia is shrouded in finery and steeped in arcane mysticism. The debate over the origin of the Celestial sisters is a perennial topic of Equestrian history conferences and a subject of intense study at Canterlot University’s History and Arcana departments. The only agreed-upon point of discussion is that the arrival of Celestia and Luna in Equestria substantially predates recorded history. Celestia herself has said little on the subject, preferring instead to focus on her current duties both as monarch and shepherdess of the sun and moon. What is known is that she was crowned the sole Princess of Ponykind shortly after using the Elements of Harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon and abruptly end the War of Night. In the years since the end of the War, Celestia has continued to shepherd the Equestrian sun and moon, maintaining balance both in nature and the aether. Under her guidance, Equestria has prospered, building great cities, taming the weather, and making the land bloom. Celestia has taken steps to build relations with neighboring Aquellia realms and to foster communication between all species. Recent days have seen their shares of ups and downs. Equestria is at peace with its neighbors, but trouble can come from within as well as from without. The return of Nightmare Moon was heralded in the books of prophecy for centuries; even Celestia knew that the spell of banishment would not be able to hold the entity forever. When the seal was broken, Nightmare Moon would return only with vengeance in mind. Celestia knew that she could not fight Nightmare Moon directly. Though she wielded enough arcane might to destroy the construct outright, the battle would likely destroy half of Equestria and in the end, her sister as well. Instead, the Sun Princess elected to be clever. Celestia allowed herself to be captured by Nightmare Moon and through subtle conversation, manipulated her into challenging Twilight and company with tests of their wits and their friendships rather than outright killing them. The rest, as they say, is history. Nightmare Moon was defeated, Equestria was restored to balance, and Luna was given a chance for redemption. Discord’s reign predates the War of Night by potentially centuries. Historical documents indicate that he was defeated by the combined effort of both Celestial sisters wielding the Elements of Harmony. As merciful as she was, Celestia did not outright destroy him, instead trapping his essence in a prison of stone. His most recent escape and the trials of Twilight Sparkle and company have reopened old wounds and serve as a reminder to Celestia that her decisions sometimes have unintended consequences. The Sun Princess knows that despite her powers, she is still far from perfect. Her age also gives her a firm sense of accountability and responsibility. As sorrowful as she was after defeating Nightmare Moon, Celestia knew that the consequences of Luna's actions justified her sentence. Perhaps in time, the ponies would learn to forgive Luna for her prior transgressions. In a thousand years, the hate and fear would have had time to fade, giving Luna the chance to start anew. Though she occasionally indulges those who ask her about her history and the years before the War of Night, she politely declines to go into great detail. Her memory of those events is perfect, but old wounds do not close easily and history is easily twisted by those who do not have the clarity of countless eons of existence. The Sun Princess firmly believes that her place is in the present and that her visions should be set upon the future, rather than reliving the sins of Equestria’s past. There are times when Celestia wishes she were merely a normal pony. In spite of the passage of time, the tumultuous events of the past thousand years still weigh heavily on her mind. Still, Celestia believes firmly in the strength of her people and knows that their connection with both the land and each other will allow them to persevere. As a result, Celestia demonstrates a very down-to-earth attitude in spite of her godlike powers and a warm and friendly demeanor in spite of her executive authority. Despite—or perhaps because of— the heavy responsibility of her occupation and the incredible power she wields, Celestia still finds time to have a little fun. Her playful candor manifests readily in less formal settings, such as when spending time with her sister Luna or her protégé, Twilight Sparkle, and at times when addressing members of the general public in a more intimate setting. I've often spoke out about who is the best princess (vs favorite princess). This isn't going to be about who is my favorite princess (but it isn't wholly unrelated), but rather whom I feel is the best overall princess and why. I'm going to take into account everything I've read and seen across all media for this. Starting from the bottom... Princess Luna, probably the most popular princess, is also, in all likelihood, the worst princess. To start with she is overly tied to emotions. While this makes for a very engaging character, it makes for a poor leader. It has caused her issues in the past and present. Her emotions are what lead her to be taken by the nightmare force, and try to kill her sister. Furthermore, she nearly cancelled a popular holiday merely because she disliked it. Yes, she helps individual ponies with nightmares, but that does not help the overall masses. She also lacks the experience her sister has (though that is mostly the fault of being banished which was her fault for letting her emotions get in the way of doing her duty for the ponies she guards) Cadence would probably be next, but it is rather close with Twilight, but that is mainly due to lack of information, so a lot of this will be conjecture. Even in the book explaining her ascension to princesshood, we really don't have much to go on. That said, she has been shown to be at least a somewhat effective leader in the Crystal Empire, putting the well being of her subjects before her own. In fact she nearly passed out trying to protect them from Sombra. While she hasn't had much screen time it is clear she places great value on those around her and will do anything to help, whether it is individual or group. Twilight would be after... While her time as princess is short, we have seen her attributes countless times over the course of the series. From each of the main big bads from season openers and closers to times like the Winter Wrap Up. She has shown that not only can she lead but she's willing to when it is required of her. Naturally though she is reluctant, and we have yet to see where the "Princess of Friendship" path will go, and we likely won't until Season 5. But still, she has shown that she is a true leader and will put the well being of others before herself. The only reason she exceeds Cadence is due to the plethora of information as the lead character. And at the very top is Celestia. This isn't even really a contest. From the start she was exalted above all others as a great ruler, all the way back in the first episode. But let's forget hearsay and focus on what we actually know of her. First is that she thinks of everyone, even when it is painful to her. She continued the Summer Sun Celebration as if nothing was wrong despite it being greatly painful for her as it was a reminder that she had to banish her sister. It can be postulated that she had similar feelings about Nightmare Night. Though Nightmare Moon was just a character to many ponies from an old ponytale, to Celestia it was always her sister that went astray. She kept peace and prosperity, alone, for around 1000 years, and was in a position of power long before that in all likelihood. She is also the princess most likely to make decisions and stick by those decisions even among other princesses, even if that decision is tough or possibly controversial (eg Having Discord face off against Tirek, knowing full well that sending anyone else would have likely lead to disaster, despite it being a decision that did not sit well with the other princesses). She may not be seen doing much anymore in the way of actively protecting ponies, but it is clear that she acts as an ambassador personally to other lands, having gone to Saddle Arabia and likely heading the talks with Maredonia. In short Celestia is an actual leader. If something happens in Equestria she is the one everypony runs to, including Luna, Cadence and Twilight. She has the experience, poise, and most importantly she has all the qualities of a great leader, including ability to inspire, confidence, commitment and a positive attitude (not to mention that she has a sense of humor). While it is easy to see why others prefer one princess over another as a favorite being characters, however the question of best princess is a simple answer. Celestia is clearly the leader of Equestria, other princesses defer to her, her subjects are most likely to come to her for issues concerning Equestria. While it can be argued that the other princesses may be better characters, or at the very least better developed (most of Celestia's characterization is from hearsay rather than from what we actually have seen), it cannot be argued that she is not the true ruler of Equestria, and therefore the best princess.

I got bored and decided to draw Luna in an Ushanka....and then a trench coat...and then I made a Soviet Style flag...and ended up with this...sorry about the colours being a little off, I don't have a scanner so I had to take a picture with my cell phone, and this being a spur of the moment thing at 5 in the morning I had to work with the coloured pencils I had around. I'm not really happy with how the Ushanka came out...so I may attempt another version of this later, who knows. Feel free to critique the actual artwork though, just please leave out the colour, I know its off. Thanks. In Lunar Equestria Art draws you! Alicorn OC. A princess with dominion over storm and lightning powers I guess. Pretty interesting OC. Her horn is a in the shape of a lightning bolt (in case its a little hard to tell) and her mane and tail are dark thunderclouds! According to this OC's owner she's the lonely brooding type. Wants friends, has trouble making some though poor thing. I dont know who she is in relation to Celestia,but Im willing to bet that she's just a long lost cousin a couple times removed.© Art is mine, OC does not belong to me.

Today was the day,Princess Celestia's birthday! She was hosting her birthday party at Phillydelphia for this she said was going to be the biggest and brightest one yet! Everypony was excited, including Sub Zero,Delilah,Thunderbolt,Dusk,Leif Green (New character ),Light Harmony,and Care Package, plus many many more!They had all arrived, dresses well and ready to party,"I can't believe it, today, The Princess's bithday!"Delilah was so excited she couldn't stand herself,Thunderbolt was just messing around with Sub and Dusk and didn't realize exactly why they were even there.They saw a pony standing alone in the middle of all the action,she was new to Phillydelphia, although she lives in PonyVille,she was quiet, and was a light pink colour with a green mane, 2 green coloured mane atleast, she was wearing a more country look, somthing AppleJack might wear, She stood quietly with her ears down and wings tucked in, you couldn't tell if she had a horn or not, so that was quite questionable.

I get alot of inspiration from songs for starters. I listened to a dubstep version of "Coming Home" with lyrics from Skylar Jones, and the lyrics spoken in this version reminded me of Luna coming back from exile and free from NightMare Moon, and ready to come home where the kingdom awaits. This was a fun project, plus I wanted to work more with light and shadow. Didnt take too too long, maybe about 5 hours finishing the lineart and colouring. I still cant believe it took me nearly an hour just to get the wings sketched. Darn my random moments of "cant draw a particular part today grr!" . xD And look!
