  1. Zeig

    From the album: OC Art

Full size is best size! Felt like trying to draw something that didn't just have a neutral resting expression, because that's really my default and I don't really experiment or draw emotions and expressions that often. Always good to get some practice on expressions! Neighpon is pretty much a mix of feudalistic and modern, and I imagine the role of the Shogun in times of war edges towards the modern side for the most part, except in cases of very important, large-scale battles. And in those instances, the Shogun shows up to fight for the country. I mean, even Celestia has been shown to fight in battles before. ...The Shogun doesn't have the power of an Alicorn, true, but I like to imagine that the power of moral and leadership are just as powerful as any old Alicorn magic, kthx.

    Testu Kāten

From the album: Requests, Gifts, Commissions

Did some drawings for a couple characters a while ago and never uploaded them, they just slipped my mind. Here's one of them - Pyro's bandit character Tetsu, part of an infamous bandit clan based in Neighpon. Testu's the...second oldest, if I remember correctly? Tetsu Kāten (c) PyroBlaze
  3. From the album: OC Art

"[During the Sakura Spring Festival] Kyoma [...] becomes enveloped in a sea of pink." Quite. Literally. Might need to view full size to be able read it clearly! Bellosh pointed out an RP he was in that mentioned Ryuichi, but this line struck me harder than anything else and inspired this silly little comic. Kyoma doesn't quite reach this level of cherry blossom fun, but...it's probably a near miss. Yeah... Ishi (c) PyroBlaze
  4. From the album: Muddy's Album!

Yù Liánhuā's birth parents, a lord and lady of Neighpon that were once loyal soldiers before honorably retiring with their newborn foal before an unfortunate incident happened.
  5. Zeig

    From the album: OC Art

Full size is best size! Been a while since I tried a human!pony, and the previous one doesn't really count since that was more an RP idea. This is more focused on "what does pony look like as human," and I think I pretty much like the end result! Now that only leaves...sixteen hundred other OCs to humanfy? ...Yeah...yeah, that sounds about right~

    Rakuen Ryuichi

    From the album: OC Art

I'm finding a new love of Ryumas...this makes my third one total. Not that I'm complaining, because I really like how he turned out. Rakuen Ryuichi is the Shogun of Neighpon who's got big hooves to fill. His approach to ruling is practical, almost clinical, but still with an empathetic sense of protection that seeks to better Neighpon as a whole. He's also going to need a lot of help, meaning plenty of open positions in his household! Want to app a character of influence and power in Neighpon, and confer closely with the Shogun in RPs? Check out the relationship planning thread I have for him, to see what sort of positions are open (or to toss out some of your own ideas)!
  7. Taiyou Hibana If you don’t put a bit of yourself in the machine, it has no reason to follow your lead. Name: Taiyou Hibana (“Sun Spark”) Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Ryuma Coat/Body Color: Azure. Fetlock tufts and scales are goldenrod yellow. Horns are ash white, usually adorned with metal sleeves to compliment her piercings. Mane/Tail Color and Style: Ash white with a streak of goldenrod at the front, usually done up in mohawk fashion. The rest is trimmed down to her coat. Eye Color: Violet. Physique: Petite, but toned from heavy lifting done in golem shops and her own personal projects. Style remarks: Engraved metal sleeves worn on her horns. Piercings adorn her ears and she wears a small silver stud in her nose. She bears two heavily stylized tattoo sleeves, one of a Gojira-style kaiju on her front right leg and the other of the Yamata no Orochi snaking up her right hind leg. Hibana has a preference for flight jackets, flier’s scarves, and aviator sunglasses when not clad in a work shirt, welder goggles, and machinist’s apron in the workshops. Portrait: Residence: Kyoma, Horshu. Works in the golem hangar on palace grounds, but keeps a modest apartment in one of the outer wards. Occupation: Kansei, chief engineer and caretaker of Raiju, Shogun Ryuichi’s personal golem and master of all matters pertaining to golems and golem accessories. Cutie Mark: A violet gem superimposed over a golden sun, signifying her affinity for magitech and the passion she puts into her machine creations. Unique Traits: In spite of her humble roots and her rough-and-tumble presentation, Hibana is well-educated and well-spoken, being fluent in Neighponese, Long, and Common Equestrian, having encountered all of them in her upbringing. Language is second only to engineering in her talents. Her dragon breath manifests as a burst of blue flame, with which she can use to ignite her aether torch, warm up a lukewarm drink, or clear slag from her workbench. In a pinch, she can also use it to defend herself, though she finds a hard left hook much more satisfying. Her combat skills lie not in martial combat or use of a sword, but in dirty, practical fighting with a bar brawler’s grit. Hibana is a golemancer prodigy, a combination of both intensive study and her natural knack for putting together magitech machinery. She treats her creations as pets, believing that while they lack sentience, the spirit of the machine will eventually return the favor if she cares for it well. Hibana is rarely found without her personal assistant golem, Riko. Riko is a small, snake-like construct that rests around Hibana’s neck when not in use. It can fly, hover, and lift small objects as well as providing illumination with the aether lamp in its head. Despite being an artificial construct, Riko displays animal-like intelligence, being able to self-navigate and solve basic problems to complete its tasks. Its usual function is to retrieve tools and take notes while Hibana’s hooves are otherwise occupied. Character History Hibana was born in Dosanko to a large family full of fishers and machinists. The family professions demanded physical strength, mental acuity, and intense cooperation to not only succeed, but to succeed before the hard winters set in and most in the village were housebound. Hibana learned early on to work with her hooves on nets, boats, and the mechanical devices that pulled their hauls in and kept the boats safe. She was also taught to fight, as the ever present threat of rogue caribou constantly loomed over the island. When she could, however, Hibana would sneak a book or two from the neighbors, with which she began to slowly teach herself Long and Equestrian. Personality Hibana’s punk proclivities are not merely cosmetic. She is snarky and sharp, her acerbic wit always ready with a comeback or mocking jab in response to criticism. She never hesitates to take a shot at an authority she deems incompetent. Hibana is proud, but shrewd, reveling in a job well done, but at the same time knowing someone else might do the job better; someone she had best learn from to avoid being taken advantage of later. Growing up with many brothers and sisters, Hibana often had to shout or shove to be heard. As a result, she tends to be confrontational and quick to correct others when things have gone wrong or when she suspects someone is lying. She is difficult to convince that she is wrong, but will correct herself if given incontrovertible proof. Her bluntness and cavalier disregard for seniority or authority is often seen as rude and impudent by strangers, but her siblings and those she worked with in the Dome appreciated her ability to get to the root of problems with surgical precision and hammer it out with unbridled enthusiasm. She laughs with just as much gusto when among friends as fury against enemies and is always one to enjoy a wild night out on the town. She holds her few true friends in high regard and will defend their character and integrity to the death. Those friends she does have lie outside the palace, with perhaps the sole exception of Shogun Ryuichi himself. Hibana has amassed over the years an enormous collection of both local manga and Equestrian and Aquellian adventure novels, from which she draws inspiration for golem mods and designs. She is also a fan of kaiju films and has posters plastered all over her workshop, apartment, and personal workbench in Raiju's hangar. Character Summary Hibana is a hot-blooded golemancer prodigy in charge of Raiju, the Shogun’s personal battle golem. Her humble upbringing gives her perspective on the nature of hard work and frugality, driving her to live modestly despite her generous stipend as palace staff. In spite of her cushy position in the employ of the Shogun, she still has an itch that can only be scratched by stepping into the Dome to command another golem fight.

    Fuyu Tsuki

    From the album: OC Art

I realized the other day that I had no female characters who were competent fighters. All of the girls I have fulfilled niches that had no physical conflict involved in them whatsoever. So I decided to make a ninja character, to compliment my samurai. Tsuki is generally an agreeable sort of Ryuma, but she's got some grand ideals about getting vengeance against the Imperial Dynasty for 'destroying' her family's way of life, way back when her ancestors migrated from Long Guo after its unification. She'll be using her ninja training to try and subtly sabotage any Long Guo workings she can. ...We'll see how that goes for her.
  9. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Tsuyo Yamabushi (roughly translates to "valiant mountain-fighter") Sex: Male Age: Middle-aged Stallion Species: Ryuma Eye Color: Yellow Physique: Taller and more thickly built than the average Ryuma. Most of Yamabushi's thickness comes from muscle mass, although he's developed a slight potbelly in his middle age. On account of his wanderings and his early military career, the Ryuma's body overall appears world-weary, and bruised in many places. Coat & Antlers: The coat is a dullish, light shade of earthen green; while the scales are light beige. The stallion's light grey antlers are thicker than average, remaining straight after initially curving back like the normal Ryuma horn. Mane/Tail/Tuft: The hair is dark brown in color. Yamabushi's mane is worn in a traditional "top knot" style characteristic of Neighponese samurai. A well-groomed beard and mustache grow on the stallion's face. Attire: A plain kimono of a purplish-red color. Occupation: Ronin (a masterless samurai) who performs bodyguard and escort services throughout northern Equestria. Residence: Currently works out of Seaddle. Cutie Mark: Crossed katanas; blades pointing upwards. They represent his devotion to the Way of the Warrior. It was a warm summer's day, and little Yamabushi was outdoors swinging a stick around pretending to be a soldier. Nearby, a group of disreputable youths tricked one of the local kids into playing a rigged dice game. When the unfortunate colt couldn't pay up after losing, the other scoundrels started shoving him around. That's when Yamabushi stepped in; despite six-to-one odds, the young Ryuma commanded the dishonest ruffians to cease their wrongdoing at once. The resulting six-on-one scrap ended spectacularly poorly for Yamabushi, but the bullied kid he risked himself to defend successfully managed to flee the scene, and that was what counted. As an onlooking old mare intervened to attend to Yamabushi's injuries, the lady revealed that she had once been a samurai — the elite warriors of Neighpon — and she praised the little boy for displaying conduct that exemplified Bushido: the Way of the Warrior. Fueled with encouragement that he too could had a shot at becoming one of the celebrated samurai, Yamabushi came home that day not just with bruises, but with a new cutie mark on his flank. Unique Traits: Yamabushi's most dependable ally is his custom-made katana; the sword he's owned since his induction into the ranks of the samurai. Like most other samurai weapons, Yamabushi's katana is magitech-enhanced. When the katana's user blows a certain breath spell on it, the hilt sends out sonic pulses through the blade. These ultra-high speed vibrations allow the katana to shatter weapons and penetrate armor far more easily than the average weapon. Yamabushi's backup sword, a shorter wakizashi, is similarly enhanced. Although his prefered weapon is the sword, Yamabushi is proficient in most other weapons of war. In a pinch, he can wield a bow, spear, staff, club, and his bare hooves to good effect. However, Yamabushi becomes a legendary figure when armed with his katana. Although heavily built, the samurai possesses deceptively quick reflexes with his hoofwork; quick enough to even deflect projectiles! Combined with his brute strength, any foe of Yamabushi that commits a mistake rarely gets a second chance. Like most Ryuma, Yamabushi's dragonbreath lacks the innate potential of a Kirin's. In certain situations though, the ronin can call upon a huge gust of air from his stomach. It's proven useful many times to throw opponents off-balance, especially when Yamabushi is in danger of being overwhelmed. Afterall, fighting bravely does not call for fighting stupidly. History: Tsuyo Yamabushi came from humble beginnings; the eldest child of a husband-and-wife pair of farmers. Early into Yamabushi's life, his mother suffered a crippling injury that left her permanently disabled. Although the colt's relatives were able to pick up most of the slack with the farming and housekeeping, it fell mostly upon Yamabushi's shoulders to look after his younger siblings. It was the boy's filial duty to teach them the ways of farming, clean up their messes, and keep them out of trouble. Because Yamabushi had responsibility thrust upon him from such an early age, the young Ryuma developed a natural tendency to defend others without regard for one's self. This virtue would serve him well throughout his life. As the boy grew older, Yamabushi yearned for a life greater than that of a simple farmer. His desire: to join the Order of the Samurai, a military fraternity (part of the Neighponese Army and open to anybody from all walks of life) upholding the warrior legacy of Neighpon's pre-unification nobility. During free time, Yamabushi learned the basics of sword fighting from the old mare who first identified him as samurai material along with the Eight Virtues of Bushido: Courage, Duty, Compassion, Sincerity, Honesty, Courtesy, Discipline, and Honor. When he came of age, the Ryuma enrolled in a military academy to train further as a samurai. There, Yamabushi's instructors constantly tested his martial prowess and his ability to uphold the Eight Virtues; with each Trial, the young stallion succeeded. Graduating from the academy, Yamabushi went on to enjoy an illustrious career in the Neighponese Army. During his service, he saw plenty of action against Viking Caribou, Polyneighsian rebels, Hesperian corsairs, and on one occasion, even a kaiju! Those who served with Yamabushi regarded him as a surrogate father figure; a guardian who'd always put his neck on the line for their safety. Numerous times, he never hesitated to charge through the Enemy to save his comrades from great peril. The samurai stallion earned himself a plethora of wounds and numerous decorations, including praise from the Shogun himself. After several years of overseas deployment, Yamabushi was recalled to the Home Island of Horshu to instruct future samurai as an academy instructor. Yamabushi had everything a Ryuma born to simple farmers could want in life: a well-paying posting, a luxurious estate on Horshu with its own private hot spring, a spouse and child of his own, the respect of an entire nation... and access to good food. If the stallion had a glaring vice, it was his love of food and drink. He was always known for having a large appetite (it was no accident that Yamabushi's spouse was a renowned chef), but now that he had the means and opportunity to fulfill his gluttonous fantasies.... well, it doesn't take much to imagine what happened next. Over the next several years, Yamabushi squandered his money on eating at the most fanciest restaurants in Neighpon and hosting lavish all-you-can-eat banquets. The situation became untenable once the samurai couldn't pay off his debts any longer. Due to his gross failure to exert Discipline in his life, Yamabushi had severely violated the Code of Bushido, hence he was kicked out of the Order of the Samurai, his instructor position, and his honor. All the shamed stallion knew how to do was fighting, but few opportunities for warriors existed in peaceful Neighpon. Yamabushi also couldn't bring himself to return to Ryushima Island and let his siblings know of his shame. Lacking any other options, Yamabushi left his family behind to search for new opportunities abroad. This quest has led the masterless samurai to the northern borderlands of Equestria; a place where lone warriors can still hope to make a decent living. With time, Yamabushi hopes to earn enough money to pay off his debts and demonstrate his steadfast commitment to the Way of the Warrior, thereby proving worthy enough reinstatement into the Order of the Samurai. Only then will the ronin regain his honor..... Character Personality: In nearly all aspects of his life, Yamabushi fits the profile of a perfect samurai. He is brave in the face of danger, helps out those in need, performs every assigned task with equal dedication, never lies or loses his cool, and treats both friend and foe with respect. Quick to boisterous laughter when amused, the Ryuma always appreciates a good joke or a funny story. While not someone who actively initiates conversation or seeks out friendship, Yamabushi prefers never being far from the potential company of others whenever possible. The way to Yamabushi's heart is through his stomach. Despite attempts to better maintain self-discipline, the sight, smell, or the mere mention of a well-prepared meal is enough to make the stallion salivate in almost any situation. When appropriately triggered by edible stimuli, Yamabushi will drop whatever he's doing and incessantly ask to be served as well. The longer he goes without eating, the more fiercely the ronin will crave a hearty meal and thirst-quenching drink once triggered. The more Yamabushi eats, the merrier he becomes. On the other hoof, Yamabushi does not suffer fools lightly. If anybody asks him about how to become a samurai, the ronin would strongly discourage that individual from living a warrior's life altogether. Even in his best of moods, Yamabushi keeps silent about his samurai past, lending his exploits an aura of mystery. Although not usually prone to rash decision-making, the promise of wiping away his debt may lead the ronin towards questionable acts without bothering to think things through first. Nothing is more important to Yamabushi than restoring his honor Character Summary: He may be cursed with an insatiable appetite and the desire for honor, but no one will find a more worthy brother-in-arms than the veteran ronin Tsuyo Yamabushi.
  10. Roleplay Type: WoE Name: Fuyu Tsuki, translating into 'Winter Moon' Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Ryuma Eye Color: Vivid red Coat: A dark blue that straddles grayish tones. Mane/Tail: Silvery-blue, with a metallic sheen that makes them shimmer and sparkle under the right lighting. Physique: Like most of her Kirin and Ryuma kin, Tsuki is lithe and slender, her body more resembling the supple frame of a white-tailed deer than that of ponies. It is obvious to anyone with eyes that the Ryuma keeps herself in great physical shape. Residence: A modest, one story house in Rainbow Falls. Occupation: Professionally, Tsuki is a self-proclaimed geisha, an entertainer with a speciality in performing complex dances with her twin fans. She doesn't do much with hosting, though she does know how to act as a hostess if the situation calls for it. Unprofessionally, Tsuki is a kunoichi mercenary who will take nearly any job that pays well enough - most especially jobs that actively hurt the Imperial Dynasty of Long Guo. Cutie Mark: A folded tessen with swirls of breath magic circling around it. While poking around her family's belongings one day, Tsuki discovered some old documents and journals written by one of her ancestors, who lived through the formation of the Imperial Dynasty and subsequent relocation of Ryuma and Kirin to Neighpon. In those records, Tsuki read about a conflict that had left their family destitute and broken, and had driven them from their homeland to fight for a living on the islands of Neighpon. Uncovering even more documents and belongings, the young Ryuma learned that her ancestral family had once been a formidable ninja clan that had subtly gone to war with the Imperial Dynasty, in an attempt to destroy the regime and restore Long Guo to its rightful state. Tsuki was floored to uncover this history she'd had no knowledge about, and was equally quick to question her parents. Even when they tried to accurately explain history however, citing old grudges and perceptions as setting the biased tone in those old journals, Tsuki became engrained with an idea - that her family had lost sight of their true heritage, and that Long Guo and the Imperial Dynasty were to blame. She became determined to follow their family's forgotten history as a ninja clan, and vowed to become a ninja master in order to restore her family to their mainland heritage, prompting the appearance of her cutie mark. Unique Traits: As a successful kunoichi, Tsuki has picked up a knack for various weapons needed for her line of work, from long-ranged weaponry to up close and personal combat. At a distance, she will more often than not will utilize her bamboo fukiya. She uses her blowgun, in combination with darts dipped in various poisons, in order to affect enemies from a fair distance, whether to cause them to fall asleep for a short time or to spread poison through their veins. Tsuki is also skilled with various throwing weapons, including shuriken and kunai, and always keeps a healthy supply of them on her body. For close range, Tsuki sports a pair of tessen that have bladed edges, allowing her to use them both for blunt force and as deadly weapons. She can hold her own in a hoof fight, but tends to lag the longer the fight drags out, often prompting a quick retreat. Unsurprising, given her heritage, Tsuki has also mastered the art of stealth, and remaining undetected. Her lithe and nimble body makes her naturally agile, built more for fleetness than strength, and what she lacks in long term endurance is made up for by sheer speed and reflex. While well versed to slinking through the shadows and utilizing unconventional pathways, the Ryuma is also skilled with blending into broad daylight. With a keen eye for disguises and mannerisms, Tsuki is capable of pulling off convincing acts that tend to have her go unnoticed, whether she is passing for an unremarkable maidservant or a humble delivery mare. This ability to blend in as an everyday Joe often allows the Ryuma to infiltrate whatever building, organization, or party she is after, often to their detriment. While she is no master of the art of breath magic, Tsuki is still relatively more skilled than most other natives of Ryushima, thanks to her sensei. While she is moderately capable with water school of breath magic, her real strength in the art lies in specific spells she has worked to master. Due to the brilliant shine her hair and scales tend to give under moonlight, Tsuki has cultivated a breath spell to cloud herself in, one that sucks in light instead of reflecting it. The spell dulls her colors and casts her in a shadowy pall, which in turn lets her sneak under moonlight without becoming a shining beacon to everyone in her path. Tsuki is also capable of breathing out a wood breath that spreads out around her, and detects life sources in the area, allowing her to essentially "see" where nearby living creatures are for a short while. The last spell she has spent significant time investing is one the Ryuma herself refers to as the "Moonstep", which utilizes a breath spell to give her a brief burst of extreme speed. She tends to use this spell to perform blitzkrieg type attacks, either dropping out of the sky on top of her target, or streaking across a stretch of ground to put herself closer to the threat. History: Born on the Kirin and Ryuma heavy island of Ryushima, Fuyu Tsuki almost immediately began causing a ruckus in her household. With her mother a stay at home wife, and her father a humble farmer who didn't own land of his own, Tsuki was pretty much given free reign to steer her life as she so chose, much to her delight. Said freedom cultivated into a polite interest in ceremonial fan dances, after watching a performance hosted by her town's academy of arts and entertainment, and Tsuki began taking to the art of the performer. She quite enjoyed it, until one day, after poking around some of her family's old belongings, discovered an ancient journal that was written by one of her ancestors long ago...he contents of that journal would forever change her life. Though Tsuki easily nodded her head at her parents words of warning, her young mind had already sowed an idea, one that called for her to settle an ancient grudge against the mainland. Filled with visions of her family being restored to their lost honor, the Ryuma was quick to latch onto the idea of ninja, elite warriors specializing in subterfuge and infiltration. To the consternation of her parents, Tsuki began actively acting like a ninja, loudly challenging other foals in the marketplace and attempting to break into places. Her parents were near apoplectic with rage at her behavior, and that might have been the end of that, if Tsuki's proclamations hadn't drawn the attention of an old ninja master living on Ryushima. Whether he took a genuine interest in Tsuki's desires, or simply wished to preserve the outdated practice of ninjutsu, was unclear - he simply requested to teach the young Ryuma the art of being a ninja, and hoping her training might curb her youthful energy, her parents agreed. Tsuki trained with the old master for several years afterwards, devoting just as much energy to learning the art as she did to her fan dances. She was even fortuitous enough to run into a visiting Qilin from the mainland, who, after amusedly listening to her babble about her family's honor and visions of glory, agreed to teach her some useful breath magic he had picked up on his travels. As she grew older and more mature, Tsuki's burning desire to restore her family to its rightful status and throw down the Imperial regime mellowed out into more feasible goals, such as earning the title of a ninja master. With her sensei's blessing and a farewell to her parents, Tsuki, now a young mare, packed up her belongings in order to fulfill her wish. The only problem was figuring out exactly where to begin. Tsuki struggled with this for a short while, but news suddenly reached her from the mainland - the Imperial Dynasty was, after so many long years, making overtures of friendship with the land far to the west, a country called Equestria. Years of youthful and wanton hate began rearing their heads inside Tsuki again, though they were more well-tempered and controlled. Despite herself, the young Ryuma couldn't help but wonder what Long Guo was hoping to accomplish by allying itself to Equestria...and also wonder what she could do to prevent that from happening. With her mind made up, Tsuki shipped herself off to Equestria. She hopes to learn more of the country that has obviously garnered Long Guo's interest, but if any opportunities arise to sabotage those efforts of friendship and peace between Equestria and her long hated enemy...well, Tsuki is certain that someone will be around to capitalize on them. Character Personality: A smooth and sly Ryuma housing an internal war against an entire country, Fuyu Tsuki seems to embody her name to its fullest. Mature and generally amiable, Tsuki is a confident young mare who, at a glance, is of a genial and cheerful sort. She carries an easy sort of conviction within herself, one that allows her to carry through most interactions with hardly any problems. She gives off the air of a dependable and reliable older sister, willing to help out others and provide wisdom, and tends to become quickly informal with those she meets, easily lapsing into yapping quips or casual touches. There is a definite mischievous flair to her however, one that usually as her serene face breaking into a sly or knowing smile, and Tsuki will often subtly inject biting insults disguised as gentle teasing into her interactions, similar to an elder sibling who attempts to assert their dominance over younger ones. Sometimes they are harmless, sometimes they are not, though whether she is actively being malicious varies from situation to situation. Usually, Tsuki does so unconsciously, simply for the satisfaction of mentally placing herself higher than others around her. This desire to feel a sense of superiority stems from her foalhood, emblazoned with the idea of the Imperial Dynasty taking everything from her family. Despite her maturity, Tsuki is still exceedingly passionate about her goals and desires, causing her to flare up and sputter out in turns. A highly competitive Ryuma, the young mare doesn't understand the meaning of "quit", and can get highly enraged or infuriated at being shown up. Tsuki is eager to prove herself, both as a daughter of her family and as a ninja master, and this shows in her frustration when she is beaten at something she feels she should have come out on top in. Underneath the friendly and cheerful exterior lies a fierce kunoichi that will scratch and claw her way to victory, if provoked. The Ryuma is not above using under hoofed techniques to getting her way, either - a facet of her ninja training, anyone and anything is a tool to be used, and whether it is winning a competition or soliciting the trust of some one else, Tsuki has no qualms lying, misdirecting, or outright cheating to obtain her goals. She is dishonorable in the most blatant sense of the word, and with her larger than life goals of getting revenge against the Imperial Dynasty forever in the back of her mind, Tsuki knows she can't afford to be honorable. Character Summary: Any random pony meeting her on the street will agree that Tsuki is an affable and agreeable young mare, who delights audiences everywhere with her performances and spectacles. Despite this new life she has made for herself however, Tsuki hasn't forgotten the reason why she traveled to Equestria in the first place, and eagerly awaits for any opportunity to undermine the repressive Imperial Dynasty.
  11. Pretzelparty

    Shiori Rin (Ready)

Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Shiori Rin Sex: Female Age: Young Adult Mare Species: Ryuma Eye Color: A dark brown Coat: A dark greyish blue with flecks of periwinkle scales dotting her cheeks, back, and flanks. She had a more solid series of scales and more dragonish underbelly. Mane and Tail: Black and usually kept up in a bun on top of her head. Physique: Due to her extensive training and experience in her clan’s work. Rin is covered in lean and toned muscle. Her build, while mostly built for speed still pack a good amount of strength. Her wing (the organic one anyway) is well muscled and her feathers allow her to move silently regardless of the speed she is flying. Residence: Wherever her current job is, that is where she is. Occupation: Ninja bodyguard for hire… still hoping to find permanent employment with someone worth protecting. Cutie Mark: A shuriken with shadowy wisps drifting off of it. Many members of the Shiori clan get their marks during sparring sessions. Rin was just another one of these cases. Even as a filly she proved to be very good at sparring in the in the past but one day she had trouble fighting a particularly tough and boisterous opponent who was the heir to her clan’s leader. When she was up to bat at this arrogant Ryuma she suffered several losses from him. He seemed to be able to shrug off or easily counter any traditional martial art or movements she attempted. This changed when she began working on her speed rather than brute strength as she felt she wasn’t going to be able to ever be able to beat him there. Instead she focused on moving faster and striking vulnerable areas and dodging his attacks. Her practice paid off one day when at her latest match went on long enough that the sun began to set. When her back hoof managed to land in a shadow and seemed to disappear while the challenger was in a hold that had him tapping out before he knew it. Unique Traits: Shadowspeed: From her years honing it, Rin has more or less perfected a technique that has allowed her to move faster than even the most advanced mind has immense difficulty processing without magical assistance, and the average or lesser minds she can seem to have outright teleported. While using her speed she seems to be able to severely weaken how the air reacts to her presence. When she moves past or behind anyone there is no gust that hints to her presence. There is a downside to this talent though, as in order to be flying at her fasted she needs to start moving from a place in the shadows or just the slightest bit shady. Without that she has to really on a normal flight speed of a Ryuma who regularly exercises. One sunny days or well lit rooms she’s at a considerable disadvantage. Even when she's in the shadows she's only in her undetectable state for the duration she's moving. She must be in the shadow of something order for her to use this technique. Hoof to hoof and weapons training: Her years of training have resulted in a knowledge of fighting that few can hope to match. Her muscles having been trained and taught many movements that have made her a difficult creature for regular non trained ponies to defeat easily. Her primary method of fighting is using pragmatic tactics and feints, and regularly attacks the most vulnerable areas of anatomy, and having studied many potential species she could wind up fighting at some points she’s knowledgeable of pressure points and spots to hit when the moments present themselves. In her life she has learned how to effectively wield many small edged weapons, her favorite being a small Tanto that was given to her by her grandfather. Poison arts: Rin as one would expect of someone in her profession is very well versed in the knowledge of poison brewing. Despite the knowledge she has she has only ever used non-lethal, fast acting paralysis brews and regularly coats most of her weapons in the same concoctions… over the years she has been working on giving herself an immunity to such poisons and proven only half successful. Stealth training: Rin's use of stealth is in no way magical. Her methods of using it mostly involve dark clothing and positioning herself in the shadows so the unobservant aren't able to see her... without her Ninja garb on she's just as awkward looking as any creature you'd see trying to hide in corner of wall. Breath Magic: Rin's immunity to changes in the wind when she is moving through the shadows is actually based on an advanced breath magic technique in relation to her talent. It is what allows her to prevent the change in air pressure that can alert most skilled to her presence and prevents her from causing great gusts with her speed. While she has specialized in her own unique way to use her own magic, Rin has been taught some abilities in other schools of basic elementalism magics of her kind. She cannot hope to match a Kilin's breath with her own in terms of raw power or quantity, but she has learned some useful techniques to help her along. She has taken time to learn moderate flame based magic so she can breath fire and take opponents off guard, While she has learned how to manipulate she is still having a bit of trouble fully holding in her flames at times... usually a sneeze can accidentally set off her flames but it's usually not anything that a fire extinguisher can't cure. She has learned some basic sustained lightning magic, while that may sound impressive... it has terrible range and the only way she's found a good way to use it would be to channel it into her Tanto to non-lethally electrocute the one it makes contact with. She has also learned some useful magic in order to strengthen the weave of her clothes; this means she has been able to make her cloth armor have the properties of tough leather instead of a thin sheet. History: Born to a secretive ninja village clan in one of a rural areas in a secluded plain nestled in the mountains of her lands, Rin was more or less set up to have a much-less-than normal life. Despite the lack of normalcy, Rin took to her fate as a member of her clan with gusto. Since she was a small Foal she had heard tales of many heroic exploits that her clan took part in back in their “hayday”. Back when they served the highest offices in the lands… until something happened that got them disgraced and with the changing of the times they began their work as mercenaries. Grandpa Hanzo was a substandard former member but he knew the basics of combat and taught all he knew to his granddaughter despite her parent’s protests. She spent many days skipping school and practicing, until she finally made it into her clan’s private Ninja academy hidden beneath the mountain. It was actually rather interesting, they had classes in various subjects suited to both Kirin and Longma to make them into great mercenaries and experts in sabotage, kidnapping, and bodyguard work. During her time there she’d spent most of her time studying and working hard in all her classes. There were many different paths that her fellow students took. It was fascinating to hear all the nuanced ways that her clan had made use of themselves since her grandpa’s story’s took place. There weren’t as many traditional ninja as she’d hoped. Some of the stuff she did learn was pretty useful! Including poison making, mostly paralysis, sleep and disorientating stuff. Once she approached her teenage years she began the more trial based missions including sabotaging merchants in their lands from getting to where they needed to go and stealing their supplies. On one particular mission she made a very costly mistake and the merchant carriage belonging to some griffins. One of the carriage’s guards got a very damaging hit on her wing… a hit bad enough that she was going to be out of commission for a while. The damage done had resulted in her left wing needing to be replaced with a prosthesis. Given the land she comes from and the support and resources of her clan. It was hardly a problem to get. Within a few months The mare was back on her hooves and in the field again. However her belief in the clan became shaken when she learned their clan’s leader: A dangerous, cunning, Ninja who was known to all other clans only as “The Jorogumo”. Was actually selling her clan’s services and providing agent’s to a shadowy organization named W.R.A.I.T.H. not long after the attacks on the Crystal empire in Equestria...This shocked the young shinobi to her core and she left her clan, in the hopes of finding assistance to help her stop this travesty and restore her clan to the way it was… like the noble-hearted, but pragmatic ninja of the past. It was shortly after she set off on her own that she realized the chances of her being able to topple one of (if not THE) most powerful and influential Ninja clans in the land were… calling them slim would be incredibly generous and nearly nonexistent just being charitable. So instead of seeking to topple her home village she decided to establish a clan on her own… and while she’s at it learn exactly how she could do that. For now she felt she should start with the basic way her grandfather told her the clan began… with a cunning and talented young warrior of their past offering their service to a young lord who promised to repay them for the times they have saved their life with lands, and status of her own that would allow her to bring in more kirin and longma and go from there! … and now the hunt for a “Lord” or a “Lady” is on! Character Personality: Rin seems to have two settings: One being her ‘professional but passionate” mode, and the other being her “Awkward, nervous, stammer-ridden” mode. One her times when she’s not hidden behind dark clothes and an ornamental mask she often remarks she feels naked and embarrassed… despite the constant lack of clothes in many races. To deal with this she tends to wear yukatas, usually ones long enough to hide her cutie mark in places where it might stick out. In civil settings, Rin is far from an expert socialite. Her interactions are usually plagued with instances of surprised looks when someone makes contact. Despite what may be appear to be a negative reaction to an attempt at social interaction, The young Ryuma is actually rather civil to all people she meets by her clan’s standards. Amongst almost everyone she tends to use Honorifics in the context of how she has known or gets to know them. Rin has enjoyed quite a few pastimes one of her favorite hobbies has been sewing. While she’s not particularly good at it she keeps trying and was the one who wove her Yukata; although any seamstress worth her salt could tell that the handiwork on it is amateurish. In addition to sewing she has a strange fascination with comic books from Equestria… especially some of the more silly silver age ones and has an additional love for “Western films” produced by that country as well. Her love of these forms of media having started back when she was a filly and one of her friend’s at school showed her some film reels from Equestria. When she wears her costume and make, Rin can almost seem like a different person than the embarrassed and occasionally gushy mare that most people meet. She plays her role as a shinobi from the lands to the east very well and does her best to not let her employer down, although she has been known to turn on employers and side with others because they either pay her more or her ideals in regards to the current situation tend to line up better than her current arrangement… that or she just lost slipped up or lost a scuffle. While Rin is indeed a promising little ninja from the lands to the east, she has been proving to be strangely picky of those she works for and despite the quality of her services never faltering she has shown a tendency to quit shortly after if she feels those who are employing her are not on the up and up by her standards. There have been a few instances of her switching sides mid-assignment and as a result of her scruples she has often found herself having to do various odd-jobs in her travels to make ends meet. Another flaw of hers would be the fact that she is a terrible liar and infiltrating if talking is involved; one story still told in the academy back home is that in a test where all she had to do to pass was say something with a straight face… instead she practically shouted from the top of her lungs, “I’MNOTASHINOBI!” and throwing a smoke-bomb at the floor before darting out of the room. Another flaw she has is a terrible sense of direction and can get lost very easily in many situations. There are many things Rin holds dear to her but four things she always carries with her include a straw hat and Ornamental Tanto from her grandfather Hanzo, The Uniform she got when she graduated from the academy, and her prosthetic wing which while she is still slightly self conscious about, has grown to love despite it’s quirks and occasional inconveniences. Despite the hardships she faces in the world as she works to restore her clan to the honorable group it once was… even if she has no idea how at the moment, she refuses to give up on that goal. She believes deep down that once she finds the “Lord” or “Lady” she is looking for she will be able to make it as she goes from there.
