1. (LOL So I met this guy on Omegle and I think this RP we've begun out of NOWHERE is just Amazing. Now. It has a very feudal setting. Take it at face value.) ======= (We'll use the Castle of the Two Sisters and assume it's in one piece. With a settlement around it and Walls. Think King's Landing kinda.) === It were a wonderful day to make a royal decree; the sun was out in force, shining hot across the land with nothing but a few clouds in the sky to dapper the warm, partially humid air. Golden light swathed over the floors down every corridor partial to the exterior of the grand castle. Servants of many shapes, sizes, birthrights and blood were adrum with activity. Primarily suited to the dining hall and Ball room. Outside they would be preparing the celebratory banners; in far better condition that the usual flags and sigils that hung down on less special occasions. Guards marched the grounds in force more regularly to ensure nothing would muddle today's experience. Bathtubs were filled with sparkling hot, bubbly water and kept heated for if ever the royal pair would need to wash themselves in preparation for the day at hoof. And not to mention the sheer chaos rummaging about inside! Food was to be laid out and done so to perfection. Chairs were alligned with every table. Flowers and their bouquets made up their own invading army. New candles placed into the chandeliers to be lit by Pegasi butlers later that night. Carpets rebuffed and dusted. Windows cleaned! Cake test-tasted! Wines selected! Music attuned! Paintings readjusted or swapped with new, more punctual designs! It were as modern a medieval setting could become at least with the application of ponies who just HAD to know what they were doing to have their Princesses' castle looking superior to any and ALL across the land. And after all. So many houses would be joining the festivities today. To what circumstance? They had no idea. Just that one of the most powerful houses would be hosting today... and that many if not all but the least trusted would attend. The reason being kept a secret until the wine was poured at the start of the Feast and Buffet!... Maids scurried along, carrying or wearing very fanciful dresses... Every room had some sort of flare added to bring out the colors... It was disgusting how much effort everypony was putting into this one occasion. But... If BOTH Sisters emphasized it.. and then Twilight Sparkle emphasized it... and then Lady Rarity emphasized it.. then it must be a pretty big announcement. "Now this is what I call insanity.", A rough and tumble orange mare huffed; her southern accent now non-existant as she lived in a more Feudal time. Wearing her family's more traditional battle armor/dress that did do well to bring out SOME of the feminine mystique found in a family of Free Ponies. Lands that belonged to them and not the nobles. This brought them under constant danger... but they were stubborn. The Apple Family was known for being prime fighters. Those who loyaly served Princess Celestia. "Oh Applejack darling you simply must understand~ Twilight has NEVER gone on such a tirade when she informed me that this occasion absolutely NEEDED to be perfection incarnate. This is not insanity!... This is almost feeing rushed!", the mare feigns in place, her mane done up in a wonderful bun while many, silky strands hung down over her lovely sapphire eyes, "I hardly EVER manage this much work in one day! Let alone in my dressings!..." The pompous nature of one of her non-family born friends got quite the extensive eye roll out of AJ. Rarity were a dear companion and faithful ally to her house and the Sisters... but gosh could she be a ludicrous fashionista at times, "I'm quite certain YOU aint the one doin much of anything, My Lady." "Directing all of this movement builds up quite a sweat, darling. Surely you know how it feels! The stress of commanding so many ponies at once?" "Uh.. yeah. Though usually some of mine don't come back. And they sure as hay aint settin up a Buffet.", she huffed, "What's the big deal about this festivity anyway? Ya'll never go this far off your rockers." "Thats what I'm fairly in the dark about myself now that I think about it!...", the soft white mare haltd in place, gazing up at a banner before gasping, "WHO DID THIS?!" Everypony in a servantry uniform stopped dead and looked the Ladies' way. Rarity grabbed the bottom of the long fabric.. and turned to show them a small teastain, "THIS... IS... UNACCEPTABLE!... Quickly! You You and YOU... Fetch us another! And YOU will wash this one!" They all in sloppy unison nod and say, "Yes Lady Rarity!...", grining sheepishly or frowning full of dread as they took the banner and quickly hurried off to fix the 'grievous' err. "... Really? Ah didn't even notice that!" "Oh Applejack you were FAR too busy noticing what I wanted you to notice!... Everything else is for me to spy and eliminate before somepony else does <3" There were sudden yelps and servants were hurrying quickly in the other direction as shouts and angry stomping could be heard approaching the two important ponies. Captain Nacht of the Night Guard and Captain Gleaming of the Day Guard respectively, suddenly stepped into the hall, their armour shining in and their postures radiating that of power and also an elegance only a knight could possess. Whilst there were houses that held the titles of defenders of respective parts of the Kingdom there still had to be a dedicated Royal Guard and this is where they came in. Small in number, maybe 500 men between them or so they made up for their lack of an army by being worth 10 stallions to one of them and every Royal Guard was considered a grand fighter and probably a veteran. Captain Gleaming, a tall, white Unicorn stallion with a silver mane was in charge of the personal guard that were tasked with laying down their lives for Princess Celestia and managing the general security of the palace during the day, if not specifically the city whilst Captain Nacht, a Unicorn as well with a jet black coat and a pearly white mane was tasked with the exact same job but for Luna… to say the two got on very well would be a total lie and they were currently in a heated argument. “You’re a ****ing idiot if you think that your guards are going to be manning the exits Gleaming, this ceremony takes place mainly in the night and so MY GUARD will man them. You can stick by your Princess and I shall stick by mine and that is all I will say about the matter” Nacht spat, his thick Germanic accent obvious as Gleaming, a more… Equestrian stallion in both features and tongue retaliated “The celebration was ordered by both sisters and they tell that they will both make a grand decree and so we should BOTH show presence, not just your ****ing mangey lot!” They looked as if they were about to pull swords on one another and their separate entourages looked no better as they eyed each other with suspicion their honour bound to two separate sides of the crown. “My men are the finest Unicorns and Earth ponies in the land and my Thestrals are an ancient race that easily outfly your scraggly pegasi!” he yelled, his face turning red as he locked horns with his ‘colleague’ the situation obviously going to escalate lest something was done to stop it.
2. in a dark room in an old, creepy looking cottage there was barely a sound being made. The only continuing rackets that could be heard was from the constant scratching of a quill on parchment, some rather disturbing giggling that occasionally devolved into a whimper. Alone at a desk there was a pony hurriedly writing something down as a dark and ominous aura began to glow around them. Just as the author of the letter finished the last sentence and powerful wind blasted through the house and sent the paper flying far out the window… Not long after the gust there was a loud sound that could have been heard all the way from Canterlot. Following it was a surge of mysterious magical energy that erupted from the lone shack and spread all around it soon engulfing the entirety of the town this house was adjacent to in addition to some of the woodlands nearby. Around the borders of the magical anamoly there began to form a thick fog, dense enough to completely obscure any attempts to peer through it, magical or otherwise. Just outside the borders the wind brought the written message to a mailbox just as a mailmare came to it… ---Canterlot, Spellbound Guild Hall--- A fairly loud snore was ‘gracing’ the guild hall this afternoon. The owner of this snore being a cream colored unicorn with a straw hat covering her face and resting in a hammock she’d set up a few minutes ago. Presteza had tuckered herself out from the long night of magic practice the guild had. Spellbound hosted a whole bunch of magical experts with unconventional talents owned by sometimes even more unconventional ponies. There were equine here who if given enough time, could built an entire castle made of ice. a mare who could level entire buildings in a matter of seconds. A student of the arcane sciences who could dance like a ballerina whilst teleporting all around the room. They had one member who could summon up and dance with flames. There would probably be even more impressive individuals to join the guild’s ranks one day too… The impressive displays she’d seen the other night had stoked her creative furnace, The snoring mare had spent the better part of night sketching pictures of the various members at work honing their skills… something she should get around to doing sometime. Soon there was loud couple noises, a rumbling noise and three sharp knocks. The mare was shocked out of her sleep and slipped out of her hammock on to the floor, slamming her face into the floor. “Ow…” She said rather flatly before getting to her hooves and rubbing some of the sleep from her weary eyes as the knocking continued. “OI! Keep yer bloody shirt on, I’m comin’!” Shouted the mare, a bit grumpy from having her rest interupted. Soon the door was opened, “Alright, wot’s the hurr--” *Boom!* The painter stood there a moment as a wind carried over a piece of parchment that hit her square in the face. Once she took the article from her visage she looked around and saw everything looked fine outside… where the hay did that explosion come from? The mare slowly stepped back inside the guild hall and shut the door before scanning over the letter… Her eyes widened suddenly before she looked back to the depth of the guild hall and shouted, “EVERYONE! C’MERE, YA GOTTA SEE THIS!” ---The Area Formerly Known as Hollow Shades--- The letter had said that Hollow shades was in trouble and colt did that seem to be an understatement. The area were the town stood as now engulfed by deep, dark, intensel thick looking fog. Every few seconds there was a series of purple electrical arcs spreading over it’s surface before vanishing into the banks of the -for now- unmoving bank. Around it there were various ponies, many of them scholarly looking and with magical instruments trying to discover the nature of this event from outside. So far there were quite a few things that were observed by the ponies who just stuck a hoof into the fog; one pony who had done so froze in place and once the hoof was withdrawn, a cut on it had fully healed and the pony’s mane had grown a bit. Any of the pony’s who had left the borders of the fog bank would notice that suddenly their entire sense of timing was now either slower or faster than they had been before, although this eventually healed itself. The trip here seemed strangely quick to those who had joined them, fortunately Hollow Shades wasn’t very far from Canterlot (probably why that boom was able to be heard from there). The ponies who had come were, Javasun, Moondance, Presteza, and Pocket Change. Moondancer was the leader and founder of the guild. Javasun was an exceptionally intelligent engineer. Presteza was a prodigious and prolific painter with some unusual magic at her disposal. Pocket change was a junior archeologist and experienced adventurer. The Artist of the group gulped as she looked over the sight before her, “S’pretty forebodin’ ain’t it?”
3. Bulk Biceps was busy in his gym, lifting. Granted, this was usually what he did in his gym in between helping train ponies to tone their muscles and build their strength, but this time, he wasn't lifting weights for the sake of lifting weights. No, in this case he was lifting entire pieces of training equipment, at least, leveraging them onto a small cart so he could shift them around the floor area of his gym. Luckily he still had a decent amount of room in his business space to be able to shift things around and add new equipment, which was precisely what he was planning to do. He'd ordered some additional new apparatus from Baltimare, and though he didn't expect it for several days yet, he figured it was best to be prepared for its arrival early so he could quickly get it set up and ready to build some muscle. His own muscles taught as he moved the equipment about, he stopped to look about the room, wondering where to put the next piece.
4. Informally known as "The Low Society," the Bohemian Club has long had its headquarters in the Veiled Garden pub south of the University. Its membership and clientele largely consists of painters, writers, musicians, singers, journalists, and other impecunious scoundrels. It is about as disreputable as social scenes get in this town without being actively criminal, but if you don't mind the company, you're almost always in for a good time... ~***~ So! It's been a while since I actually started a thread in WOE, so I figured I'd start this one up. This is essentially a way of expanding the social circle of one of my first characters, Earth Writer, right after I finished his revamp. As a journalist, he would be a new member of the club, there mostly to see if there were any new or interesting talents worth some space in the paper. All ponies of artistic talents and ambition are welcome as members of the Bohemian club, and in many cases, talent may be done without. Otherwise, you're always welcome as a paying guest at the Veiled Garden. You never know who might show up...
5. Hello! I'm sure all of of ponyville foal roleplayers are absolutely loving the classroom thread with our favorite teacher, but all foals need a break now and then wouldn't you agree? Well here's my idea! This thread would take place either after or during the class is in session thread (preferably after imo) where everypony is eager to to give their brains a rest and just have fun and socialize! I'd welcome pony's normally from other cities or towns but you must give a legitimate reason to why your pony would be in ponyville now. Like maybe they're visiting relatives or something like that because of things going on back home. So what does everyone think? Wanna see what kinda trouble our foals can get into when not under the watchful eyes of their teacher?
6. Brianblackberry and I have been working on some possible rules for a Hoofball League, and thought we'd go ahead and share them with the boards, for the benefit of some Ponyville Area Youth Hoofball Organization (PAYHO) or Junior Hoofball threads we'd like to do! The basic idea is to come up with some game rules that would benefit all three of the races, and allow them to use their special talents and strengths without overshadowing the other - so allowing flight and magic without leaving the earth ponies feeling useless. As folks chime in with their own idea for rules or caveats, flavor, terminology, or what have you, I'll go ahead and update this initial thread with what we (or at least, I) agree sounds good. There is a 10-pony team in play (more for substitutes), a soccer-like goal at the end of the field, and a soccer-like ball. On this 10-pony team, we have: (1) Goal tender. Whose job is to protect the goal. Flight and magic can only be used inside the goal zone. (5) Ground Team members: Can be any race, but no flying or magic use. The balance between offensive players and defensive players is up to the individual teams, and can, of course, change over the course of the game. (3) Sky Team members: Pegasus ponies, of course (and the very occasional unicorn pony with a spell to give themselves wings, but most wing spells rarely survive a match). The role of this group is to fly overhead and provide backup where the game needs it most, and often end up on the ground with the earth team. They dive down for powerful offensive moves and dramatic defensive saves. Technically it's possible for them to juggle the ball downfield completely in the air, but in practice it rarely works with six pegasus ponies jostling for the ball. (1) Striker. Usually a unicorn (sometimes a fourth sky team member) this position is an 'anything goes' style position and is often the star of the team, since their unique abilities will give the team their flavor, and the team's strategies will usually be worked around the striker's special talents. (In YHO games, and many Junior Hoofball games, the striker is essentially a sixth ground team or a fourth sky team member, what with the foals having so little use of magic.) Of course, every team can have its second-stringers, though several teams don't consider their secondary striker truly 'secondary' and will swap their strikers out for sudden and severe strategy shifts to throw the opposing team off-balance. A game can be very active, and ponies swap in and out frequently, without needing to wait for a break in the action. Virtually no ponies play through an entire game. Rules: 1: There are three 'zones' to the game. Each team has a zone around their goal zone, and the central, neutral zone. While the sky is often referred to as the 'sky zone', those pegasus ponies in the sky zone are considered to be part of the zone they are flying over. 2: If at any point in time a team has more than three ponies in the sky zone, they wil get a penalty: "Too many ponies in the sky." The goaltender is allowed limited flight in his very small goal zone. If more than 10 ponies are on the field at any given time (except for a few seconds surrounding player substitutions) there is a "Too many ponies in play" penalty. 3: Each player will wear a jersey denoting their team's colors. Each team will have two jersey colors: their team color, and white. If, by the referee's judgement, the team jerseys are too similar and would create confusion for the referees, then the visiting team will swap to their white jerseys. 4: There are three 'shifts' to the game, representing the three races. First shift, second shift, and third shift. Each shift is 20 minutes long, with a five minute break between them. (15 minute shifts for YHO games) 5: If, at the end of the third shift, the two teams are tied, then there will be a fourth, 10-minute overtime shift. (YHO and Junior Hoofball leagues do not have an overtime shift) 6: If at the end of the overtime shift there is still no winner, then the game will move to a kickoff. Each team will have three shots at the goal made by three different players. If tied, it will continue to repeat. (YHO and Junior hoofball leagues go straight to a kickoff.) 7: No pony can make an action which tries to seriously hurt another pony. (Offense: Unnecessary Roughness) There are a number of sub-rules about this (Offenses: Grabbing, stabbing - offensive horn use, hobbling - deforming the field under a player's hoof) but they're involved and complicated and cause arguments amongst the fans as to whether or not a call is valid. That being said, hoofball is often a rough sport and a little bit of shoulder-checking, bodily contact, and other such activities is common and appreciated by the fans. Exactly how much is allowed is somewhat dependent on the referee, but referees who are too strict are usually booed by the fans. (YHO games have much more limiting rules concerning player interaction. Junior Hoofball, it starts to get rough, but still not to college or professional levels.) 8: The ball can be juggled and kicked with any part of the body, but not carried. (Offense: Carry) Sky team members can technically juggle a ball all the way down the field completely in the sky zone, but in practice, with three pegasus ponies on the opposing team all too willing to bodycheck you to return the ball to the ground zone, this rarely works well. 9: The ball cannot be directly affected by magic. Opposing players cannot be directly affected by magic. (Offense: Illegal use of magic) This means that, for instance, teleporting ponies can teleport to the ball, but cannot teleport away with the ball, because that's directly affecting the ball. They cannot use spells on the opposing team ... but CAN use spells to boost their own team, like giving a strong wind to make their sky team fly faster. They cannot make a wall of magic to block the ball, but they can make a temporary wall out of earth to block an incoming ball (as long as it goes away again right away). Remember that only the striker and goalie can use magic in-play. 10: The ball cannot go out of bounds. Whichever team caused the ball to go out of bounds loses the ball to the other team, who can then pass it in. If it cannot be determined which team caused the ball to go out of bounds, there will be a new face-off. (Offense: Out of Bounds) 11: Magic cannot be used to utterly destroy the field. Any magic that deforms or reshapes the field needs to put it back within a certain time limit depending on the nature of the deformation. (these rules are very detailed and lengthy and, in RP, are dependent upon the Rule Of Drama.) (Offense: Destruction of Field) 12: No pony can enter the opposing team's zone unless the ball has already gone into that zone. Once the ball leaves the opposing team's zone, they have 10 seconds to leave the zone themselves. (Offense: Invasion) If an Invasion offense is called, then the ball changes possession. 13: No pony can make a shot on the opposing team's goal from their own zone unless they already have a player in that zone. (IE: the ball has been out of the enemy zone for less than 10 seconds.) (Offense: Longshot) 14: Each shift is started off with a face-off. This consists of two ponies, each standing outside a ten-foot-radius circle in the center of the field. The referee places the ball in the center of the circle, and then backs away. As soon as the referee does not have a hoof inside the circle, the two players can dart forward and try to take control of the ball. (In YHO and Junior Hoofball games, they have to wait for a referee to blow a whistle.) 15: Out-of-bounds penalties are handled by having the ball passed in from out-of-bounds. All other penalties are usually awarded with a free kick on the goal from anywhere in the free kick zone. Players who incur too many penalties, or grossly attempt to injure another player, are removed from the game. This is left to the referee's judgement.
7. Zecora had decided that now was the time...She had been in Ponyville for quite a while and wanted to explore more of Equestria! She packed her saddlebags and stepped on to the train, riding it happily to Canterlot...She had never ridden a train before and the experience was so exciting! Zecora was deeply fond of new experiences!..The looming peaks of the Canterlot buildings drew ever closer and soon enough her train had stopped. Zecora stepped out of the train and glanced up, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of the massive city that lay all around her! It was like a jungle in it of itself! Zecora was eager to see all the wares the shop keepers had to offer! To taste the unique foods, to hear the music! But for a moment Zecora felt like a little filly all over again, very small and very lost, and it was for a second that she stood there doing nothing! But just like that she shook her head to clear it "No no no! This will never do! Zecora behave we have exploring to do!" After giving herself the kick in the butt she needed, Zecora continued her walking, a nice paced, quick trot so she could cover as much ground in one day as possible! Oh this was so exciting!
8. ((This open to all)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Acrylic wasn't a very patient pony to begin with, but this noble pony he was painting was a noble paint in the flank. "Maybe I should try this side, after all it is my best side..." The aristocratic pony mused to himself as Acrylic's eye twitched, painting took time, that he didn't mind. But what he did mind was narcissistic ponies such as this one. He sighed shaving a bit, getting ready to explode at any moment. "How about... We try this again next week." He suggested but when it seemed that the pony didn't hear him he just got up and left him there. After packing his things Acrylic trotted down the streets of Canterlot wanting to get his mind off of that stallion and his blood to stop boiling with anger. Acrylic sighed once more trying to calm down before he blew up on some innocent pony and looked around at the city wondering what to do. Acrylic had been rubbed the wrong way by the pony at that moment he didn't even notice that he was outside without his cloak on in all his spotted glory.
9. Canterlot, the city of the rich and glamorous, was bustling down its main street. People across Equestria have come to watch the races. These flying-aerodynamic races were an exciting and uplifting event for the ponies of Canterlot. The masses of ponies were the largest audience the racing games had in years, possibly because this was the supposed race of a century according to Canterlot daily presses, in which most of the community would read and depend on for any of its local news. If it wasn't the encouragement of the newspapers to bring about pony folk to the games, it might have been the appearance of rather well-known celebrities. Diva Daffodil, Top Knot, and even the famous Peppy Peppermint; just to name a few. Among the stars that made an appearance to watch the spectacular race, Fimble Harmonia. Fimble poked her head out from the giant blue balcony, looking at the scene of flyers prepping themselves for the race. She tried keeping her excitement to herself, her hooves shaking. Fimble was never a sporty type, but, having a clear view of everything with the comfort of champaign and the luxury of comfortable chairs it made it hard for her not to try and go to these events on a daily basis. The only downside of this is having to keep a reputation around her civilized friends/company that rather talk among each other than sit back and watch the actual game. She always thought it was silly and pointless they'd do this. Almost disrespectful really for the hard working athletes that try and put on a show. Fimble laid herself slouched in her side chair. her pink sunglasses nestled on the top of her head, bracelets dangled on her hooves, champaign close to her; she was now comfortable for the game. "My, my Fimble." an unfamiliar stallion, coat white but hair a dark brown slicked back. his curled mustache tweaked by his hoof. Fimble gave an absent gaze at him, but after a sip of her drink she smiled and waited for the possible senator/duke/actor/whatever he may possibly be to speak to her. She mentally prepared herself for the usual boring conversations that stallions seemed to only want to talk about. The key thing she recognized to do, no matter what they are saying, is to just smile and nod in between every break of their sentence. This has saved her from coming off as rude when she never knew what to say/do. He tweeks his mustache again and takes a few steps towards her. "It's quite a surprise a mare like yourself comes to these games often. Hmmmmm. Do you have a charity fund for these games? I mean, such a generous pony like yourself that has donated to the filly-colt orphanage must have a said charity in many places, hmm?" His accent was obviously fake, his Hoofington tongue cutting in and out. Fimble having to meet many, upon many ponies in her line of work could catch where a pony came from just through speech. It made her giggle a bit this stallion was trying so hard. She thought back to his question and looked up to the sky to think, rubbing her chin. She has donated so much in the past year she had forgotten. She wouldn't be surprised if she did, considering she came her often. She did her signature nod and smile to confirm his question. A sip of her drink once again. She felt uncomfortable that she did not know this stallions name, especially since he addressed her out of the blue. "Oh, may I ask your name?" she said, trying to lean in with slight interest. A brow raised and her glass set aside. "Oh, pardon me, I am Duke le Ensemble. I make the finest of stallion suits in Canterlot." a smile and another hoof graze of his mustache. Fimble nodded but glanced away with already disinterest, her interest back to the race. It was now about to begin. The Pegasuses lined themselves at the line. Snorts and hooves kicked the plank they had to stand on, wings lifted up, preparing for speedy flights. The announcer called out the count down, everypony became quite, well the ones that sat in the stadium, along with Fimble which eagerly gritted her teethe. "Have you placed a be-" "Shh" The stallion flared his nose at Fimble's shushing. He turned away with head in the air, commencing towards the crowd of mares that were eating at the small snacks. Fimble smiled that he was finally gone, she now could allow her hooves to rattle at the edge of the balcony. The unicorn announcer fired light into the air with his horn, and now the games were off. It has been 5 minutes and the head of the race by a long shot was a pure black mare. Fimble's tail was shaking with happiness. She didn't care who won, she didn't even bet. The fact alone that the flying itself was becoming more and more intense is all that pertained her interest. She could smell the excitement and disappointment the crowd below her were bellowing out. She giggled loudly, Ponies behind her glared from a distance, she caught herself quickly, a hoof over her mouth, cleared her throat and tried watching the race with collective calmness. She winced at herself for being a bit rowdy and uncivilized. Letting the excitement get to her around company like this wasn't the greatest for her rep. Another 20 minutes in and the mare has won the race. The crowd went even wilder, flags shot into the air. The announcer announced the mares name proudly, a medal is placed around her neck. Another good game won. The gentlecolts and mares that were on the balcony finally glanced at the race as the excitement down below could be heard clearly from atop. A few mares would absently say "Oh that was a good game." or another would say as their snout still stood in the air, "I say, wasn't that thrilling". As for Fimble she kept her commentary to herself as she felt her insides jumble with excitement, refraining from prancing about and singing. This was impossible for the young mare. "Oh~ ♫ What a game, a race of honorable steeds~ ♪" she now twirled in her chair, the others tried walking away slowly. "Oh no, not this" a pony remarked before ducking their heads away from the musical scene that was about to bestow. "Oh~ What a game, what a game~ ♫" her voice sang gracefully out towards the spectators and athletes, which all became startled and looked up at the balcony where they find Fimble twirling and singing. Lots of ponies below whistled and enjoyed her rhythmic voice. "Dashing and thrilling the game is to mee~ ♫ Oh what a game indeed~♪ the winner takes their rightful place at the wonderful game~ Oh~ What a game, what a game~ What a race, what a raaaccceeee~♪~♫" as she twirled past the staring civilized company she danced and twirled about as if she was in her own setting. She jumped and twirled mid air on the edge of the fountain that was displayed on the balcony. The ponies around her began to watch her in awe, as if this was the entertainment... "Look around and you will seeeee~ ♪the awe that transpired from the great race before theeee~♫ What a game~ Oooohhhh What a gaaammmee, a race fit for meee-" Suddenly as she does a graceful step off the fountain and to the steps down below, a camera flashes in her face. She stops in mid step and almost tumbles over, before her were journalists and a long stretch of reporters. She stood frozen, she gasped. The immediate thought that raced through her mind as her eyes focused in and out of the powerful flash. "Oh no...! I probably look terrible! I-I can't have pictures now! I'm an embarrassment!"
10. Hiya everyone! The devastation of Hurricane Sandy left a huge impact on me. I grew up on the Jersey shore, and pretty much anything you know as being a unique quirk of the ol' Scotchie came from my time living in Keansburg (as a matter of fact if there were no trees in the way you could see my childhood home one block beyond the water tower in this photo.) During the holiday season I was supposed to help with cleanup efforts, but due to a communication breakdown with my brother I was unable, and couldn't bring myself to even GO to the town because there was nothing I could do to help besides donate (and, well, cry). But it reminded me that I have characters I have never RPed, and having a fitting RP while I am still emotionally healing from the damage to one of the places I have the most sentimental nostalgic attachment to might help until I can get back down there and shovel some sand myself. One of my characters, Saffron, Inherited a small boardwalk amusement park in Hoofington (now keep in mind this lore is not fully approved forum lore, but since the boardwalk is small, maybe 2 acres including the strip of bathing beach, and my character's place of residence and business, this portion still stands). The first store to open was Calliope's. Things to know: Everything is in disrepair except the carousel house, and the attached building that used to house a primitive, giant steam powered calliope that now houses Calliope's boutique since When I say "arcade" I mean a building with a large open hallway supported by arches and shops and games crammed into either side of it, not a place full of video games. All rides are powered by horsepower. There is a little ferris wheel, the carousel, pedal powered bumper cars, and a giant slide.. Even the carousel is horse powered! The carousel is a little different than an ordinary one though, ponies dress up and stand on little platforms that move up and down, instead of riding on horses. They ARE the horses, with the exception of four stationary ones that are evenly spaced apart that are seats for very young foals. You can be: a volunteer who is just helping fix the rides, stalls and other buildings. Just lemme know who you are in this thread. You don't have to be a character who is helping out because they have a business on the other side of "The Loop" or otherwise locally. Ditto for just letting me know who you are. A character who wants to own a business in the boardwalk proper and wants to help out. If you want to do this, please let me know and I can work with you after you submit your app since essentially Saffron would be your boss by default. There are various game stands, hokey fortune tellers and other amusements that can be filled here. I would LOVE for someone to build a spooky "in the dark" ride or "haunted house" type attraction! You are welcome to also make a business of this type nearby, off the boardwalk grounds themselves but I would play Saffron, in character, always kind of stand-offish to your character. I am also OK with this because it would be a good character dynamic. Play will be slice of life, of new ponies coming together to help a neighbor rebuild something good for the community. There may be periods of tension, where something collapses, but ideally this is meant to be socializing Please keep in mind that this RP will mean a lot to me, emotionally, so I would really welcome anyone's best RP effort.
11. The Colosseum, how some ponies call it, is the Arena in which a lot of competitons are held. Currently there are no events schedulded and yet it is filled with pegasi. During those times the Arena serves as gym for the pegasi of Cloudsdale. Here they have a place to stay fit, compete with their friends in obstacle courses they can create with the surrounding clouds and meet other ponies interested in wing-focused sports. Occasionally you even meet a griffon or a hippogriff here. It is said that some love stories started here too. An eventful place it is for sure, maybe even more between competitons than during them. During this late afternoon Nocturna decided she could use some exercise to stay fit for her occupation, which is certainly asking for a lot of practice. But that is not the sole reason. She prefers to fly apart from the crowd, meaning she is usually flying alone and not in a place like this, but today she felt like she could really need the company of other pegasi, wether they are interested in flying as much as she is or not. Everypony needs to socialize from time to time. It fits rather well that she is in such a good mood today. The sun was already turning red and nearing the horizon, but still quite far from touching it. "What could be more satisfying than a wonderful sundown while flying here?", Nocturna asked herself, "haha, except for flying in the night." She wanted to sit down at the border of the Arena and watch the sundown, but remembering what the reason of her coming was she decided to look around, trying to find somepony that looked interesting enough to talk to - that is of course if they won't come at her by themselves.
12. It was another brand new day, and the sun was high, and all the birdys sung while the hay bacon fried merrily in it's skillet, Ginger was humming a merry tune to herself as she finished making her breakfast, which was quickly downed in one gulp. After eating she brushed her mane and slapped her hat on, brushed her teeth, and smiled her best smile at the mirror "Yep, yep yep, t'day is gonna be a good day for sure as shootin!" She fluttered her wings and headed down to the cafe part of her shop, perched on a big fluffy cloud near the weather factory! She hummed as the coffee pots started to perk, and she put in some fresh baked goods in the display case, whistling as the windows got open and all the resturant sparkling once she gave it a good cleaning! Yes siree Robert! It was a great day to be alive! Once the first coffee pot of lite brew coffee was finished she poured herself a cup, added just a little cream and sugar, and took a sip, making her teeth brushing..er null and void... she let out a content breath once she had finished her sip, perfect ! Just how she liked it...one thing left to do now! She flew over to the window and flipped the closed sign to open before hunkering down behind the counter and took another content sip of her coffee.
13. The morning sun was a glorious sight, glowing cheerfully upon all of Equestria. It was the dawn of all life, its rising the most dependable and guaranteed thing on the planet. The golden pearl rose to a fanfare of yellow starburst, receiving the passed torch from the moon and its pedestal in the night. Ponies took solace in its appearance, knowing that Princess Celestia still loved her subjects, and delivered them the ultimate necessity. It was even easier to appreciate its true beauty in an area unperturbed by equine society. The sun’s rays cast long, snaking fingers of warmth unto all it surveyed, the light glinting like diamonds in the morning dew as it rolled off the many rows of trees; The stretches of shadows peeling off every hill, plant, or animal, a mirror of swirling darkness of our realm... Yes, a pony-free world was truly a muse to behold... Well, almost pony-free. But what impact did one humble little log cabin, containing three ponies sleeping blissfully, have on the general serenity of the Whitetail Wood? The natural symphony of life - The rustling of leaves as the breeze rolls by, the pitter-patter of woodland creatures emerging to face a new day - still marched on as ever. The house did not have the forebodingly tall smokestacks of a factory that billowed black smoke, nor spew a toxic sludge of waste into the nearby river. In fact, it did quite the opposite. White Pine and Samara built that cabin together, with the sole purpose of making as little adverse effect on the environment as possible. Sick and tired of the ways modern Equestria was hogging the resources to themselves and for their benefit, and even corralling the other sentient creatures into pens and milking their produce, the couple quickly married and escaped the grid, to start new life in the Wood. And, just as the natural life cycle occurred around them, they soon found themselves with a bouncing little foal of their own, a vibrant gleam in her deep blue eyes and a vivid crimson-and-pink mane. An autumn child, the filly was born directly in view of a maple tree, its foliage a spectrum of colours - from butter yellow to a most gorgeous shade of red. As a sentiment of their gratitude to the Cosmic Matriarch for giving them this opportunity for life, the new parents named the foal Maple. Many years passed, and Maple grew into- Oh? It seems I’m going to have to cut this detailed exposition a tad short. Our ‘heroine’ appears more than a little anxious to begin the act. However, as not to busy her with recording every little thing she or anypony else does or says, I will still be her faithful narrator. Now kick back, relax, and enjoy the show! Oh, and please don’t call the Fourth Wall Police on m-*BEEEEEEEP* {• • • • •} ~ping111 and Andifferous present~ A FIRST TASTE OF BUSINESS Cast/Characters: ping111 - Andifferous - And many more zany characters to come! 14. Lady was bustling about for the visitor that was to arrive any minute now! All the farm chores were tended to, the apples bucked, the store front closed, and the house smelling of delicious baked goods! The guest bedroom in the airy loft had been cleaned to perfection! Overall she was ready for her visitor to arrive, and what an unlikely house-guest it was indeed! That Gryphon whom everyone else seemed to dislike at the Iron Pony event had seemed to get along beautifully with Lady and a friendship was in bud between them, which was strange because Lady was a very pretty and proper pony, not to mention an earth one to boot, so it was strange that a cocky gryphon and a polite earth pony seemed to mesh together so well. Maybe it was opposite forces attracting, maybe it was the fact that Lady didn't scold her like a child, or maybe it was some form of destiny linking the two together... one could never be sure but the two had hit it off and now that the event was over Lady was looking forward to Gilda's visit! Since they were near Canterlot she had gotten them two tickets to an airshow that she was sure Gilda would love! It was for an all gryphon flying team and they were very hard to get! After that she figured they'd just relax and do whatever they wanted. "I hope she likes it here" She said to herself.
15. Once in a lifetime, perhaps even a millennium since we're not even sure how long they live, the Perytons all over Equestria gather together under the moonlight in a special clearing deep in the Whitetail Woods. These normally solitary creatures come out of their shadow-y glades and meet en-masse discuss woodlore ....and sometimes PAAARRRTYYY! Nobody knows how they are called, why they are called and who calls them, but it's always to the same grove, in the middle of summer, every time. Maybe it's a mutual shared ancestral longing. Maybe it's an alignment of celestial bodies It's never even at a set interval in time, so many younger Perytons might not even know it's happened in the past, and nobody will ever know if it will happen again. So you don't want to miss it! Word has it, one of the oldest Perytons in Equestria, the great Skye Bluedeer, will make an appearance and shower them with his wisdom* from atop the ancient stump, now carved with stylized figures of Perytons that rests in the middle of the clearing. And we want you to join us, Peryton friend! A few things about the RP: It is going to start in Mid-August (so I am drumming up interest now). And be rather slow-paced and easygoing. if you expect to be able to post every day, this might not be the best RP for you. No ponies or other creatures sorry. Not even ponies spying. This meeting is a secret, and Perytons are very adept at simple, quiet magics that keep them unseen. We haven't figured out what to call the meeting itself yet. Suggestions welcome! Word of warning. This will be the first time Chotchkie lays her eyes on another Peryton. You are totally welcome to make offshoots of this if you want to. I won't be mad *"wisdom" in airquotes, and some pretty heavy sarcasm.
16. Starlite Mint woke with a jolt, instantly sitting up in the sock-and-other-stuff-infested nest that passed as her bed. Several escaped the clutches of the suddenly-disturbed disheveled blankets and escaped to the comic-book strewn floor. One Fair Isle hock-sock in shades of pink clung to the pale green mare's forelock for a moment before a hoof yanked it down in a crackle of static and placed it to huddle with the rest of the pile on the mattress. She listened a moment to sounds on the street below her window to see if she could hear the telltale muffled sound to the bustling activity that indicated that it had snowed in the night. To her delight, there was nary an echo from outside. Quite a blanket of snow indeed from the sound of it! All the preceding week it had been warm, rainy and muddy. Not really the ideal snowfort building weather, and it had her in a funk. Even the task of matching her socks had left her with a lack of enthusiasm that resulted in them being scattered all over her room and integrated with most of her bedclothes. But that was all about to change with the promises of a fresh coat of powder! "Today is going to be awesome, I can feel it in the air!" She announced out loud, prompting her mother to inquire if she was ready for breakfast. Jumping out of bed, she realized she had not quite had enough caffeine to enjoy the physical enthusiasm that she usually employed, but still fluffed out her mane, threw on a subtly patterned grey and white scarf and some warm coordinating wool socks ("just like little hugs for your hooves!" she thought while pulling them on), before skittering down the wooden stairs into the part of the kitchen of the coffeeshop that her parents owned that was employees only. Skidding, or at least trying to given her thick wool socks, to a halt at the counter, she saddled up to the plate of pancakes and wolfed them down with great relish, and rather poor table manners. Chasing it down with a quadruple shot CocaMochaMintaChino (a concoction of coconut, mint, chocolate and coffee that her father made especially for her when she snow was particularly good). "Thanks, Mom, breakfast was amazing, and Pop, thanks for the wonderful weather report!" She shouted, as she tossed her dishes in the sink with a clatter. Wiping the counter off while waving to customers who were greeting her, and then grabbing her magenta galoshes, which really highlighted her mint candy cutie mark, and a set of goggles she was ready. On her way out the door Minty smooched her mother on the cheek as she held the door for her excitable daughter Minty stepped out onto the sparkling daylight...and was immediately pelted by dozens of snowballs from all corners of the street. From the benches and bushes to the balconies and steep-pointed roofs of chalets across the street, ponies, pegasus and unicorns were reloading for another round. "It...is...ON!" She bellowed in mock-rage towards her firing squad, her cry muffled at the end by the blanket of snow that had just come cascading down her very own roof to bury her. She emerged from the snow like a wrathful beast hatching from an egg and peered at the blue pegasus atop her parents house chortling with glee. Shaking the crystal flakes from her coat, she prepared to scoop the mini avalanche that had fallen on her into a makeshift fort until she could regroup enough to retaliate. In her frantic scooping her hooves hit a hard square item. A second pass revealed her name on it, written in neat cursive. "WAIT! WAIT! TRUCE! TIME OUT!" she shouted, pulling the package from the snow. "I've got ..A PACKAGE!!" Well, in the tiny isolated village of Marelia, the occasion of one of your pals getting any kind of mail that was larger than a letter was a rare one indeed, so her once-tormenters gathered around to watch her open the box excitedly. Voices murmured around her as she unveiled the contents to reveal the most intricately patterned knitted socks she had ever seen, with green ponies with pink hair and exact replicas of her cutie mark worked in to the motifs of cuckoo clocks and snowflakes. Metallic thread had been woven into them, so they sparkled like actual snowflakes. "What is it?" "Aw, Minty, howcome you got a package, it ain't your birthday or nothin'!" "OOOOH! it's SOCKS!" A little tag was attached with a poem that read: Hugs for your hooves, or matters of heart Your childish ways must soon depart. A silly young filly, now a true mare, Of childhood eternal, truly beware. Now don these sweet hoof-hugs And your heart will soon know The wonders of true love. And they'll help you to grow."Ooooh! These are BEAUTIFUL! I wonder who sent them! Maybe I have a secret admirer with all this love-talk!" Minty beamed, as she carefully pulled them over the socks she was already wearing and put her boots back on. "And how funny. I was just thinking to myself about how socks are just like hugs for your hooves! But all this growin' stuff seems silly. I LIKE having fun!" ((OOC, in a nutshell, some misguided unknown pony has sent Minty a pair of magic socks that make ponies think they are in love with her, because they think she's childish and needs to get a boyfriend and grow up. Also, look at the tags to see how well this is going to go.))
17. The sun glistened overhead, filling the windows with multi colored lights due to the tinted glass to give the inside of the store a night club like quality to it, there were old school headphones, records, magic powered microphones, Vinyl records, Record players… everything a budding musician could need, there was also stacks of sheet music, quills and ink designed specifically for the Sheet music so it was water and run resistant, There were guitar strings, there were cleaning kits, everything a musician could ever need. All wrapped up in a hole in the wall style store that had a glittering sparkly black floor that looked like the night sky, HC was very proud of her store Mystic Spiral (but she’s thinking of changing the name) and was finishing setting up the window display that had pony mannequins wearing various DJ Equipment , including goggles and messenger bags designed to hold records…She was pretty pumped for the day customers...but tonight was when the party was going to come alive. BUT that was for later, right now it was all about getting people into her store and getting their heads into some awesome music to make them go “Oontz Oontz Oontz!” so to get their hooves tapping while they shopped she put in a record , and moved the needle over to get it to start playing… “Here we go hopefully the hip cats can pick up on my jive” She grinned.

19. I've looked through the threads, and while there's the School for Gifted Unicorns, I havn't seen any other Canterlot schools for colts and fillies. I wanted to run a school based RP for my new character Clawee (think young filly aged Pinkie Pie the Griffon with sports and games instead of parties as her thing). I want to watch the fun as she tries to fit in at some fancy high falutin' Middle school, probably one that takes both boarders and day students. If there aren't any, is it okay to roll up my own, and provide NPC teachers, and possibly students? I'd prefer other player character foals, but I'll take what I can get. The boarders and day students thing would allow charactewrs from other places than Canterlot to take part.
