Class was in session, and few fillies were as generally excited as Apple Bloom was to go to school. It was a nice walk and she was a fan of nice walks in the countryside and town that was built around it, the gentle air and smooth breezes exchanging pleasantries as she gaily trotted along. It was a small school meaning only a single class for her grade but that was dandy, since she liked her classmates for the most part. That small class forced them together like a bunch of sardines, though these were nice smelling and sapient, living sardines and not being eaten by some cruel griffin like in the tales her sister would tell her sometimes before bed. Sure there were some meanies like Diamond Tiara, but she had some great friends and others who she got along with. It was generally a fun time.

Her teacher was super special, Miss Cheerilee being the smartest and nicest mare she knew of. There may have been smarter, Twilight Sparkle seeming to fit the mold, and nicer, what with Pinkie Pie being a real living creature, but nopony combined those two qualities as well as she did to form a patient and loving teacher that taught more to her foals in their failures than anypony else could in success. She loved going to school and learning from her as long as it wasn't something too entirely boring, as Apple Bloom knew when she got bored her mind drifted. She considered herself a smart pony, but if Cheerilee started talking about ancient languages or something equally dull she was rather willing to lapse into the schedule for the post-school crusading. Wasn't a slight against Miss Cheerilee, she just doubted that anypony could make some subjects interesting. Math was fun though!

She finished her trot as she reached the school and cantered about into the classroom, which was starting to fill up with her likely just as excited classmates. She got to her desk and tossed her saddlebag onto the her desk and took a look around. Today was going to be great day!

(I am going to start with my character being a new student, if that's OK with you. And, for the sake of not being looked at weird, I'll... *winces* write... in third person.)

aZAoG.png

The first day of school. Twilight Shine knew very well what it felt like. Meeting new ponies, new teachers, having to adjust to a new school and possibly new rules... It stressed her out sometimes. She stopped for a second as she considered not even going, but she decided to press on for two reasons. 1. She'd have to do it eventually, and 2. Her parents would most likely get mad at her for ditching. She slowly began to trot up the path to the school, feeling more and more nervous with each hoofstep.

She eventually got to the school, what with her moving as slow as a snail. She looked around at all the other ponies, and felt even more out of place seeing that most, if not all of them, already had their cutie marks. She looked at her flank solemnly, and trotted to her seat with her head hanging low. She took a seat next to a filly with a red mane and a pink-ish bow in her hair. As Twilight got her things out, she saw the filly she sat next to always was missing her cutie mark. She started to feel happier, but decided not to say anything out of shyness, and continued to pull out her things.

Guiding Light happily skipped down the street, weighed down slightly by his saddlebags filled with books and school supplies. He actually liked school: learning new things, making new projects, and especially making new friends! The third thing was hard for him due to his shyness. It was a viscious cycle of him not being outgoing, then ponies not talking to him, then him feeling even more isolated. Plus the fact that ponies thought of him as strange didn't really help.

Light stepped inside and noticed that Apple Bloom and another pony were there before him. He gave a wave over to Apple Bloom and mouthed the word "hi" as he probably wasn't going to be able to talk to her much when the class got started. The other pony appeared new as the seat next to his was always empty until today. She looked timid like him so in order not to startle her from unloading her things for class he gave a little timid wave.

Scootaloo smirked delightedly as wind whipped in her face. The whirr of the breeze in her ears was a delightful sound, especially first thing in the morning. Morning scooter rides were the best, Scootaloo loved the rustle of her wing's feathers as they clashed against the crisp air. She loved breathing that air, right before the day got hot. Scootaloo had just brushed her teeth, and the minty toothpaste made every breath even colder and more exhilirating.

Scootaloo reluctantly screeched to a stop in front of the school-house building, always one of the first foals to arrive. She whipped her helmet off, her fuschia mane already caught up in the wind. She felt cool and composed that day, locking her scooter up to it's rack and stepping into the school building like a rockstar. She wasn't a HUGE fan of school, sitting around all day and learning wasn't really her thing. But today felt like it was going to be a good day

She noticed Guiding Light, Apple Bloom, and a filly she didn't recognize had already arrived. She wondered where everybody else was, thinking they all should be there by now. She took a seat next to Apple Bloom, plopping her backback down on the floor.

"Hey Apple Bloom. How's it goin'?"

As Twilight was laying her head on the desk, she noticed a pegasus filly who's tail and mane style looked somewhat like Rainbow Dash's sit down on the other side of the earth pony filly Twilight was seated next to. She heard the pegasus call the earth pony "Apple Bloom".

'So, her name's Apple Bloom...' Twilight thought to herself. She took the time to study the pegasus, and noticed her flank was also bare. She again began to feel happier, but her timidness got the best of her and she, again, decided not to say anything. She laid her head back on her desk, and almost fell asleep. But before she could, she jerked her head back up from her desk. She decided to start reading as to not fall asleep. She rummaged through her saddlebag, and took out a book titled Obscure Unicorn History and flipped through the pages. She eventually found the page she was looking for, and began to read it. "Chapter 4, Star Swirl the Beared. Star Swirl the Beared was one of the greatest unicorns in Equestria history. He invented many spells, such as the amniomorphic spell, and has a wing in the Canterlot spell archives named in his honor." Twilight mutters under her breath. "Huh. Interesting!" Twilight says, reading more enthusiastically now.

Apple Bloom was always astonished at how much time she could spend in such a small school and still be caught off-guard by the volume of fillies and colts she flat out didn't know. Granted, new classmates were added over time as families moved in and out of town but she always felt as though her reasonings were more along the lines of excuses. Who was that blue filly with the red streaked mane? She remembered Cheerilee telling them something about a new student joining them the previous day so they were supposed to give her a warm welcome, but in the name of Celestia's everflowing mane she couldn't remember the name! Twilight Shone? Twilight Shined? was she related to Twilight Sparkle- maybe Twilight had actually been accidentaly turned into a filly with blue hair for some experimental purpose and was trying to hide out? It was all a possibility, most unnervingly the final one. That was a mystery she resolved to solve today, and as a fellow blank, knew it would be a pleasant experience.

Then there was Guidin Light, who was still awfully shy despite his promise to stallion up and not be so shy. Why was he waving and mouthing words like he was Fluttershy? It was frustrating. Hopefully he didn't do that at dinner ot teaching Guiding Light to stop being shy and get more sociable would be harder than Apple Bloom had intended it to be when she agreed to be his friend at Zecora's. What a silly question to ask- of course she'd be his friend! She'd be anypony's friend, even Diamond Tiara's if the snooty one would fancy the thought. She returned his wave and then shook her head.

"Hay Guidin', stop bein' so timid! Ya ain't Timid Star, ain't ya?" She giggled as spoke across the room, her unnatural buoyancy demanding action and leaving her dangling off of the side of her chair as she remarked to Guiding before pulling back and sitting down.

As she was momentarily considering these things, Scootaloo's boisterous attitude pulled her out of any possible introspection and slapped her backk to the normalcy of fillyhood. Apple Bloom smiled earnestly as she took in her friend, the only pegasus she knew of that considered the sky a mythical beast to be slain. She was lots of fun to be around, though like her fellow crusaders she was the victim of a handful of bouts of either self-doubt or outraged bursts of emotion. In other words, she was a filly.

"Howdy thar Scootaloo! Ah'm doin' just dandy and all. How about you? Why didn't either you or Sweetie come ta Sugarcube Corner last night? Ah was waitin' for a full hour!" She said with mock horror, smiling shattering the illusion. You could never have a bad time at Sugarcube Corner, or at least as long as you weren't in the throes of some unencroachable sadness. Still, her eyes told a very slightly different story as she was no fan of being dumped for almost any reason. Apple Bloom eyed her new classmate, who was snout deep in a book. She looked at Scootaloo and then motioned her head to Twilight.

"She's the new filly in class. Wanna go say hi an' welcome her ta Ponyville?" Apple Bloom asked, not really keeping it a secret as she spoke in a normal volume rather in the conspiratorial tones such action obviously demanded.

"She's the new filly in class. Wanna go say hi an' welcome her ta Ponyville?" Twilight heard Apple Bloom say. She began to feel nervous. 'What if she asks why I don't have my cutie mark? What if she asks why I'm reading before class even starts and calls me an egghead? What if... Oh, no...' Twilight thinks nervously. She tries to pay attention to her book and read as much as she can before Apple Bloom starts to talk to her. After she finishes reading her chapter, she puts her book back in her saddle bag for now, and nervously waits for Apple Bloom to start to talk to her.

Light saw how Apple Bloom reacted to his waving. Granted it did look strange to wave when she was such a short distance away. He mentally smacked himself in the head. This wasn't the friend or the supposed special somepony the filly was looking for, this shy thing who was far from being a stallion. He made a promise to her at Zecora's to be more confident, and by Celestia he would do that!

"Oh hi there Apple Bloom. I'm not Timid Star, silly. How's things?"

Light was then alerted, indirectly by Apple Bloom, that the pony nearby was new. He figured so, but wondered if he should proceed taking to her as she seemed shy like him.

"Um... hi there.... I'm Guiding Light. What's you name?"

Twilight notices another pony coming to talk to her, and starts to feel even more nervous.

"Um... hi there.... I'm Guiding Light. What's your name?" She heard the colt say. She highly considered not saying anything, but decided that would be rude, and decided to talk to him. "M-My name is.... Twilight Shine." She says nervously. She looked over at Apple Bloom to see any reaction to tell that she heard Twilight's name.

The sleepy eyed orangey unicorn foal was even more sleepy eyed as he made his way into school. The crickets he had collected to examine the day before were chirping all night and had kept waking him up.

He had considered sneaking a drink of that strange brown stuff the adults drink; coffee, but his parents had shooed him out the door to go to school.

At least the walk to school was walking him up, even if he felt as slow as the snail cutie mark on his flanks this morning.

Scootaloo suddenly zipped by so fast, he spun like a top in the street. Snails' eyes derped as he came to a stop, then shook his head clear. "Um, yup... Ah'm awake now..."

Snails trotted quickly to class, making it in a minute after Scootaloo and got in his seat.

He looked around to see if his best bud Snips was there yet, and noticed Applebloom and Guiding light was talking to a new student, a blue filly with a red streak in her mane.

"Cool! Somepony new ta meet!"

A stallion's voice rang out from the other side of a closed door; "Snips! You're going to be late!"

"One minute, Dad!" yelled back the blue-gray colt in front of the mirror. A flickering aura of magic surrounded a floating pair of barber's scissors. The scissors moved in slowly before taking one final snip from the colt's orange mane. Snips looked at his face in the mirror and frowned. He knew that one day he wanted to be a barber, just like his dad. This desire was borne out by the pair of scissors that were shown on his flanks. He knew what he wanted to do... he just wasn't very good at it yet. The only ponies he could practice on was himself and Snails, and last night's practice session hadn't gone well. So now his mane was much shorter than it should have been, but at least it looked normal. At least, he hoped it looked normal.

Rapidly finishing his morning routine, Snips dashed out of the bathroom, dove under his school saddle bags to get them on his back, then ran out the door. "Bye, Dad!" the colt shouted over his shoulder. He galloped down the Ponyville streets toward the school house, hoping against hope that he could still make it in time. Slipping in the door, he breathed a sigh of relief that Miss Cheerilee hadn't arrived yet. He moved to an open desk next to Snails, hoping nopony commented on his mane...

Haywire

Haywire was running late for school... again! The rust colored filly loved staying up late to collect frogs and bugs but then always tried to sleep as long as she could the next day. She was still upset over the way her older sister Haymaker had dumped her out of the bed this morning and practically FORCED her to get ready for school. Haywire preferred going fishing or skipping rocks to going to school. Galloping towards the school, the backpack wearing blonde filly jumped several fences on her way to the front of the school.

"Time to sneak through the winder agin. Hope Cheerilee don't notice I'm late," Haywire said as she leaped up, grabbing the windowsill as best as she could with her front hooves and slowly pulled herself inside. Losing her balance, the blonde filly tumbled through the open window and landed with a loud thump on the floor.

"So much fer sneakin' in quietly..." she said, looking very embarrassed.

Neon Scratch hung low as he flew at a pace slower than a turtle's. Oh how he hated that school was starting again already! He dreaded school, he loathed school, he despised school, he, well, he hated it. He would've just slept in had it not been for his sister pushing him out the door, and the fact that his best friend was currently out of town made it so that he would have nothing else to do anyway.

So with a sigh and another groan, the neon green colt landed in front of the school. He watched as his classmates filled inside, he couldn't believe that a lot of them actually looked happy to be there! With a small shake of his head, he began to make his way inside.

"Never fear, Neon is here!" he announced loudly with a grin as he entered the classroom, as he always did. He strolled inside wearing his sunglasses, showing off how cool he was , as normal. He sat down in his regular seat close to the window at the front of the class. He was basically well-known by all of his classmates. With his reputation of being a silly, slightly cocky, trouble-making, prankster, it was hard for most fillies and colts not to know who he was. Unless they were new, of course. He lets out a sigh as he glances around the room, rubbing a hoof through his orange and black mane boredly.

Oh yes, this was going to be another typical school-day for Neon. Well, so he thought. When suddenly, a filly stumbles out of the window and onto the flow in front of him.

"Haha, fall much?" he snickered at the blond-maned filly.

It was a beautiful autumn morning with the sun was shining brightly, the birds were chirping happily and there was hardly a cloud in the sky - the peagasi had decided to make today a perfect day for Celestia’s sun. As Cheerilee left her small, nondescript home on the edge of town, she took a final once-over of her saddlebags to make sure everything she would need to bring for today’s activities were there; extra pencils, paper, string, glue, scissors, all check. She was ready to teach her wonderful students once again! Time to head to school!

As Cheerilee trotted along, she mentally reviewed the previous days - and she remembered the notes she'd received in the mail from Ponyville’s eccentric gray mail mare. There would be two new students starting today! They weren’t little foals starting school for the very first time, but new transfers from families who just moved into town; Neon Scratch and Twilight Shine. Hopefully, the students at the school were already making them welcome!

It wasn't long before the schoolhouse came into view, and she could see movements through the windows - most of the ponies were there already, she was cutting it quite close. She was so very proud of her little students, to get there so early, even when their teacher wasn't! Sure, they could be quite the hooffull and cause more than their fair share of mischief and mishaps, but deep down they were all great ponies.

Cheerilee trotted in, smiling, “greetings, class! We have a busy day ahead of us, my little ponies, so I hope you all are bright and bushy tailed this morning!” Cheerilee picked Haywire up onto all four hooves without skipping a beat. If one had taught as long as Cheerilee had, it was not in the slightest bit unusual to see a foal splayed awkwardly on the ground. As she came to the front of the class she pulled off her saddlebags and walked up to a large rope hanging down from the ceiling in one corner. “Now, class, I hope you all have your book reports ready! As you remember, last week you had to find a book that inspired you about what you hope to be someday and write a report on it. It is due today, and each of you will be giving an oral report in front of the class!” Cheerilee gave a bright smile and then grabbed the rope with her teeth, pulling, the school bell rang loudly to tell any late foals the school day was about to begin!

Guiding Light was a pony that didn't seem to get the finer arts of sarcasm. It could have been the fact that he was a colt, but she was taught not to think of it. Still, was it always a coincidence that every colt she ran into seemed so off-kilter and every filly had her head on straight? It was something for sure she took note of and didn't know how else to explain it other than colts were entirely silly creatures. It was better than thinking Guiding was sorta dumb, anywho. The only other options were that he either didn't catch the joke or he was playing along to make his own joke. She wasn't confidence those were likely. Still, she replied with a smile as he fumbled over his words in response to her.

"Just dandy, Guidin'. A real shame ya couldn't come over fo' dinner last night. I promise Ah'll get it set up proper next time, okay?" She offered, referencing the third time when he was supposed to come over so she could better teach him to not be such a shy pony. Was that another colt issue? Colts had lots of them, it seemed. She continued on smiling as she turned back to Scootaloo. Just as she was about to ask her again if se wanted to go ahead and say hi to the new filly who was already being accosted by Guiding not a moment or five after she had turned her back on him, welcoming the new filly to school. Somehow this made Apple Bloom a little uncomfortable. Before she could get more involved, however, another classmate fell through the window in some silly method of entering class. She pulled herself back up and looked sheepish, but in the end, no worse for the wear.

"Why'd ya come in through the window? That's just plain silly," Apple Bloom offered up with joyous confusion, a smile and worried expression playing with one another on her face. She didn't bother getting up which was in all likelihood the right decision as some fast-talking and seemingly rude neon pegasus made his way in. His cocky aura shot out all of the wrong vibes and he certainly backed up that set of misgivings as he proceeded to mock the filly's failing. That was mean and if Apple Bloom had any feelings on the matter, it was that a mean pony needed to be stood up to. Apple Bloom looked indignant and rose from her seat just as Miss Cheerilee came in. Immediately, the calm aura of a teacher devoted to her charges set itself to barricade's Apple Bloom's outrage. It didn't hurt that she helped the fallen filly up.

Immediately, Cheerilee set the tone and mentioned the book report. Apple Bloom nodded silently to herself, knowing she had done one heck of a job reporting on...well, she had forgotten the book. It had been almost a week since she had read it in a day and she hadn't bothered to pick it up since as it hadn't captured her interest. Still, she knew she was finished. She sat down in her seat and brought out the saddlebag, pulling her report out and dropping the rest of the bag. She had no will to be the first up and would prefer to spend as little time talking as possible- never one for public speaking- but if nothing else, she was confident that she would get a good grade(as was her norm, oddly enough).

"Howdy thar, Miss Cheerilee! How're ya doin'?" Apple Bloom asked, always taking a somewhat unhealthy interest in her teacher's life.

"Nice to meet you, Twilight," Guiding Light said with a smile. He didn't want to overwhelm the new pony too much with conversation as she looked very shy. Light knew what it felt like when he was bombarded with conversation during his shy moments.

Just the Apple Bloom mentioned dinner. Light wanted to have dinner with her ever since talking to her at Zecora's place. Yet things in their life had prevented the two from seeing each other. He hoped that Apple Bloom didn't see him as such a hopeless colt that she would give up on him.

"Oh I still want to come over, so hopefully it will be soon."

The conversation between him and Apple Bloom was halted by his teacher, Cheerilee, entering. She was a nice teacher, encouraging and teaching him through his lesson. The teacher mentioned the book report about what he wanted to be when he grew up. The research part was a snap for him as he loved to read.

Then his teacher mentioned it: an oral presentation. He wasn't aware of that part and was definitely not a speech giver. Light could just picture standing there, sweating and stuttering as many pairs of eyes were there staring at him.

"I'm doin' alright, Apple Bloom. Sorry I couldn't make it to Sugarcube Corner last night, Rainbow Dash had a race and well...I lost track of time watching her. I'm not sure about Sweetie Belle though."

At mention of Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo turned in confusion.

"Where IS she anyways?"

Scootaloo, after a few seconds of pondering, turned to the new foal Twilight Shine and greeted her with a friendly smile. Then Scootaloo noticed something very exciting: Twilight Shine didn't have her Cutie Mark yet!!

"Hey Twilight Shine! Nice to meet you! You don't have your Cutie Mark, either?! WOAH!! I don't, and my friends Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle don't either!"

Before Scootaloo could continue, she noticed the best teacher in the history of Equestria enter and begin to speak. The orange filly turned around once more to listen. Soon Cheerilee had started talking about an oral report. Shoot. Scootaloo didn't have anything prepared. Her mind immediately started racing, hoping Miss Cheerilee would go in alphabetical order. She had A-R before her! That was enough time to write a book report. Right?! She could make up a book title in her head, she could create an authors name. Scootaloo was good at this kind of stuff, VERY good.

Snails grinned and waved at Snips as he came in through the door and quickly took a seat "Yay! Ya got here just in time, Snips!"

He looked over at Haywire, puzzled, when she came in through the window, but somepony he had not seen before razzed Haywire for it before he could ask why she came in the window. "Umm Miz Cherrilee aint here yet Haywire..."

Just then the teacher arrived as if those words had brought her, and told the class to get ready to give their book reports.

The book report? No problem! "Good mornin' Miz Cheerilee!"

Snails was getting excited about the chance to tell about the book he read, from the educational mini-series of guidebooks to science and nature under the Daring Do banner. Of course the one he read was on insects of Equestria. This was going to be fun, with plenty of icky pictures of bugs to show off as well.

Haywire flashed Cheerliee an innocent smile while being helped up by her teacher. She too, was used to being picked up off the floor. The blonde filly watched as Cheerilee walked over to her desk to address the class.

"NOW ya tell me," Haywire whispered back to Snails.

"Tell me about it," she replied to AppleBloom as she rushed back into her seat. Hearing Cheerilee's announcement sent chills through the rust colored filly's spine as she sat and thought to herslf.

"Book report? Oh horsefeathers! THAT'S the thing I fergot to do yesterday! If'n I git called on fer mah oral report, I'm sunk faster than a boat made outta rocks! I gotta think of somethin' real quick er else I'm gonna be to big trouble!"

Sweetie Belle was running as fast as her little hooves could carry her. She was gonna be late, and then Miss Cheerilee was gonna think she didn't care about school! And then what would she do? And there were the first bells! If she didn't get there by the second bell! She lowered her head and pushed herself as fast as she could, her saddle bags bouncing on her back, mentally preparing her apologies for being late.

She let out a sigh of relief as she slipped into the one-room schoolhouse, and her apologies started spilling out even though she wasn't actually late yet! "I'm so sorry I was almost late, Miss Cheerilee, but I tried to make my sire and my dam some breakfast in bed this morning and I was going to make my new fantabulous recipe of oatmeal fruitsplosion brulee a la flambee, except when I was mixing up the oatmeal it wasn't thick enough so I added more and it still wasn't thick enough so I added more and then it was fine but as I cooked it more it became too thick and I couldn't even stir it anymore so I tried to make it less thick by adding vegetable oil and more vegetable oil and then it started being not-solid and I could stir it again and I poured it into a serving bowl and I put on the sugar and I put on extra sugar because dad likes it extra-sweet and then I added the vegetable oil and lit it on fire for the brulee a la flambee and the sugar started burning and then this big black snake started coming out of the bowl and setting the table on fire and it wouldn't stop and we couldn't blow it out the black snake just kept growing and growing and there was lots of smoke and then the fireponies came ringing their bell and THEN"

Sweetie paused here to put on a really, really indignant expression as she got to the part that *really* upset her! "And then they dumped water all over breakfast and completely RUINED it!" She cried, her voice cracking. "And then I had to start all over again! So that's why I was almost late!"

By this time she had reached her seat next to Apple Bloom, and almost sat down on the filly who was already sitting there! "Oh! Sorry! I, uh ..." She stood there in confusion for a moment, not quite sure what to do, and then hurried over to the still-empty seat on the other side of Scootaloo. She loudly 'whispered' across to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo both, "Sorry I couldn't come to Sugarcube Corner last night! Momma wouldn't let me out of the house till I finished my book report!"

Cheerilee smiled sweetly to Apple Bloom. "Oh, well, I suppose things have been pretty quiet lately for me, Applebloom; just been doing a lot of reading." She reached up as she said so, ready to ring the bell for the actual start of class - it had been about five minutes since the last bell. Most of the students were there, including one little white unicorn that made it in by the tip of her horn. Cheerilee wasn't going to make mention of it, given she *did* show up on time, but Sweetie launched into one long barrage of an explanation of why she was almost late. Cheerilee just listened with a stunned look on her face, attempting to squeeze out meaning from Sweetie's breathless explanation - something about breakfast, snakes, and fire. Having no idea how that all worked together, she did the one thing she could; she smiled awkwardly and nodded to Sweetie Belle, "I am glad to see you managed to get to school just in the nick of time, even with your snake ... oil ... project? Catching on fire and all." Was this another 'crusader' stunt?

Cheerilee walked over and sat at her desk smiling, today was going to be one of those days that was all about activity instead of the normal lectures. She certainly didn't mind lectures, they were all valuable lessons designed to help mold her students into well-learned and responsible Equestrian citizens, but she knew they needed an occasional break from them. And the fun little projects were still educational! First things first, the oral presentations; she was sure they each found something really interesting to read. "So, who would like to volunteer to go first and tell us all about the book they read this week?" Hopefully somepony would choose to go - she didn't relish the idea of having to pick some poor foal from the class.

"Really? You guys should, like, start a club for everypony who doesn't have their cutie marks! But... what would a club like that be called? Umm... The Cutie Mark Crusaders, maybe?"

She asked herself, turning her head to the teacher's desk. She heard the teacher mention something about book reports, and wondered if she had to do one, being a new student and all. She started to feel nervous about possibly having to get up in front of all her classmates, and having to talk to them. All those eyes watching her.... She started to sink down lower into her desk, hoping she didn't have to do anything.

"Er...."

Scootaloo mumbled, not sure how to react to Twilight Shine's conclusion. But that wasn't all too important, considering Twilight's attention had already been turned to Cheerilee. Thats when Scootaloo remembered: BOOK REPORT.

Scootaloo immediately began to brainstorm, pulling blank papers from her backpack. Luckily, the young filly was creative enough to come up with SOMETHING on the fly. What did she want to be when she grew up, though? She didn't even have a Cutie Mark yet! That's when a brilliant idea hit. Rainbow Dash was the coolest pony in Ponyville, who didn't want to be her?! Scootaloo would write a book report about how she wanted to be Rainbow Dash! It would win...whatever it was they were supposed to win. After all, wasn't everything a contest? Rainbow Dash always said that.

"Rainbow Dash says everything is a contest...."

Scootaloo began her report, messy hoofwriting already looking more like scribbles.

"Like Sorry I'm late!" Silver Spoon exclaimed as she ran into the classroom moving to get in her usual desk, smoothing her bang out of her eyes" "There was like a problem at my daddies shop and he like totally needed me to help deal with it"With that she scooted her butt a little in her seat before smiling one of her best smiles, not having the usual air of smugness she usually had before glancing over at AppleBloom, moving to elbow her slightly and slipped her a tiny square box that had a bit of red ribbon on it "Psst this is like...a thanks for ya know..."SilverSpoon saw some new students but didn't seem interested, placing her hooves on her desk and making the centers of her hooves touching as she got comfortable.

A white pegasus followed after SilverSpoon, also a little late, her face was a little flustered "Oooh I am so sorry I got lost on the way here!" RoseHip exclaimed as she came in, quickly moving to get into her seat, a hoof moving to adjust the green glasses that rested on her face, She was really new having just started coming today, but was living in Ponyville with her older cousin being her apprentice ! She eagerly glanced around the classroom, there was opportunity to meet tons and TONS of new friends! However that would wait till recess since poor RoseHip felt she had disturbed the class enough as IS!
