History: Born to an affluent academic family, Trekker grew up rather sheltered, studying and reading books. Trekker’s mother is a knowledgeable mare whom works in Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns as a teacher of advanced magic. Her father is a prominent professor of anthropology at Canterlot University. Her mother got Trekker enrolled in Celestia’s school at a fairly young age. Trekker inherited her mother's knack for learning magical spells, and her father’s insatiable curiosity about the world. Trekker excelled at learning magic, especially defensive magic, being able to create protective barriers early on.

As she continued to excel at magic her father didn't just let her learn that, he had to share his passion with her as well. Whenever given the opportunity he would show her books about the griffons, different places of Equestria, and so forth. The biggest thing is that he expressed his wish for more knowledge about dragons and under-researched areas of Equestria that he was curious about. Things that were simply not studied by ponies for various reasons. The stories of these places made Trekker wonder what these places were really like. She only knew Canterlot, and that was soon becoming not enough. Then, one day in the library she found a book that intrigued her, Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone. It was unlike any other book she had read, it was exciting, and full of adventure.

During a break from school, she did the unthinkable, she ran away to the Whitetail Woods right outside of Canterlot. She wanted to experience the adventure that she had read about. She unfortunately got lost within the woods and had a problem getting home. She was away for three days. She used everything she learned, and noted what the animals ate to survive. She found her way home due to a Peryton who found her dirty and tired after barely sleeping and constant running around trying to find her way. As it turns out, she was instinctively moving her way back towards the entrance she had initially came into the forest through.

She made it back home to her worried and somewhat furious parents. When asked what happened she instantly gushed about what she had done, like it was the greatest thing she ever did, what she had seen, how she lived, and what she did to survive, and even about the Peryton she had encountered. Her mother, still furious, grounded her. That night her father went to see her in her room and asked her in detail what she had seen, if there were any ponies living there, what the Peryton was like, and so forth. When he left, he nonchalantly commented that he had noticed that she came home with her cutie mark. Despite how tired she was, she couldn't sleep due to how excited and elated she was. She knew at this point that she wanted to do that again, but next time a bit more wisely.

She began to study the world and cultures more intensely than before with her father along with magic with her mother and at school. It got to the point that she barely saw her friends anymore due to how much she was studying. As she grew older she decided that she wanted to travel and see the world whatever it took. She knew teleportation and the defensive spells she had learned would be helpful, but she felt like she would need more from her magic when faced with the more dangerous and wild creatures around Equestria and other areas of the world. She began pouring over many books of magic to try to solve this issue and even asked her mother and other teachers at Celestia's School, but never could find something that would suit her and her ethos. She decided she would need to be creative with her magic to suit her needs, whether it be protection against particularly dangerous or wild creatures or to make travels easier. She decided to confide in one of the instructors at the school about offensive spells. Trekker knew that she'd need to have destructive and nondestructive offensive spells. The teacher was true to her word, and taught Trekker everything she knew, including 'quick draw' in a pinch. Apparently the teacher did very much the same in her youth and did not want Trekker to venture off unprepared for what the world may have in store for her.

A few years later she found herself at graduation from Celestia’s School, but that left her with a slight dilemma. She already knew what she wanted to do, but didn’t know how to tell her parents. She would leave anyway, but preferred not to abandon her parents, so she had to think of a way to convince her parents, or rather her mother to let her go, as she figured her father would be more supportive. She eventually convinced her mother to let her go after promising to write and to return home at least once in a while, though never stating when. Trekker had planned on doing that anyway, she figured there would come a time when she'd need to learn more about something or need to gain a new spell for her travels, and there is no better place for study than Canterlot. The top schools for magic and general study were there, as well as probably the most extensive library in all of Equestria. After that was settled, she packed her saddle bags and left for her first great adventure. She had decided before she left to leave her academic name behind and choose a new name for traveling. "Silver Spark" wasn't the best name for a traveler, so she began calling herself "Trekker" to everypony she met along the way.

Trekker decided to head back to Whitetail Woods directly after she left home, sort of an unfinished tale from her childhood, the adventure she wasn't able to enjoy or finish. It was the closest destination she could start her adventures. She followed the path of her childhood travels before she got lost. When she got deeper in she found an injured sliver fox, with a silver coat similar to her own eyes only darker. Feeling bad for the poor creature, she levitated him and went to the nearest veterinarian she could find in Canterlot. The vet after finishing his work suggested that she didn't need to pay, praising her for the kindness she showed the fox whom was obviously wild. She returned to the woods with the fox thinking he would go back to his pack, but he persisted to follow her. Trekker took a liking to the fox and decided to call him "Chrome" for his silvery coat. She sought to find the Peryton that had helped her as a child, but never succeeded, even with the help of Chrome aiding in tracking. After finishing her exploration of Whitetail Woods, Chrome became her closest friend and companion in her travels. He would even help her with the cleverness of a fox, helping her whenever he could. He would help with foraging things she can eat, or scouting potentially dangerous areas warning of anything that could cause her trouble. And of course being "someone" to talk to when she got lonely traveling long distances. Naturally he couldn't reply to her normally, but he would reply with gestures and various vocalizations common to foxes. They seem to understand each other to at least some degree. They would continue traveling the world together, going to everywhere they could to see the world and the many creatures, ponies and places.

Character Summary: Trekker is a foolhardy adventurer through and through. Stubborn to a fault, if she decides to do something, nothing can stop her. She’ll either find a way to do what she set out, or force her way through. She has an issue with learning from her mistakes, especially if it is walking into someplace that is dangerous, or dangerous situations, taking things as they come her way. She considers every new place and every situation as new and different, even if they are outwardly similar to a situation or place she had previously faced. Though her past experiences affect her judgement, she is prone to making the same mistake twice, if not multiple times. She has a knack for being intuitive in tough situations however. She tries to think her way out before forcing her way through always, but sometimes rushes in even with forethought, relying on instincts to survive.

She is loyal, keeping in touch with her parents sending letters with her magic, mostly her father whom loves to hear of her adventures, as well as friends made. She refuses to stay in one place too long, staying no longer than she needs to learn about the place or creatures she is exploring, but has no issues returning after some time passes to see how things change. She does this because she is afraid to get too comfortable in one place, thus ending her travels.

She always helps a pony in need when she can if it is necessary or she finds it particularly interesting, otherwise she doesn't like interfering with the cultures or lands when unnecessary, though she is in no wayt adverse to participating in new and interesting traditions. She most often uses her magical skills and knowledge to help when she does. She is foremost a traveler and an observer. She prefers to keep it that way when she is not helping a pony, and sometimes creature, in need. Her goal is to always learn whether that is in doing or asking. She is not afraid to ask questions, but knows to hold her tongue when a comment may be taken poorly by the hosts of the place she is in. This has allowed her to make lasting connections and friends the world over. Though she always makes it a point to mention to anyone she meets or befriends that she prefers not to interfere with the culture, though occasionally getting involved for her own reasons. She loves learning things first hand and recording them in some way, often in her letters to her parents.

Additional information about Chrome: He is a silver fox, and can be self-sufficient when necessary, though Trekker takes care of him more often than not. He is clever and completely loyal to Trekker. His pack abandoned him when he got injured, and the kindness that Trekker showed to him lead to an unbreakable bond between them. He can get defensive when he feels that anything is threatening Trekker, whether it be pony, griffon, or otherwise. Normally Trekker calms Chrome, as she doesn't want to create trouble for anypony and would rather ask questions than intimidating or scaring anyone or anything. Though sometimes doing so is not possible, and she prefers to escape with Chrome by her side if there is danger. Due to this, Chrome quickly got used to sudden teleportation when Trekker would make a quick escape from a dangerous situation.
