Mane/Tail/Other: Chitin's mane is dark green and spikes over his head, hanging in jagged strands in front of his eyes, his tail is long and has one little tuff sticking out at the top.

Physique: Chitin is a changeling in his prime, lean, fast, and strong

Residence: The Changeling Hive primarily but is currently taking residence as a shop owner's apprentice in Canterlot

Occupation: Proud Soldier and loyalist to his queen

Cutie Mark: Only the foolish ponies show off their talents on their flanks

Unique Traits: Chitin has the unique ability to sense if another changeling is in disguise, this is helpful on the battlefield so he will never strike an ally down on accident. If a changeling is say, living among ponies he'll never give their disguise away, but he'll tell them in private that he does know.

The ability works as a sort of "X-ray" He feels a twinge in his forehead that one of his kind might be close (due to his strong connection to his own kind), so he focuses and flicks his horn to cast the "detector" spell, it will make the disguise "transparent" for his eyes only and reveals the changeling underneath, it only lasts for a couple seconds, just long enough to be sure. In battle he doesn't hesitate to cast it often so he doesn't mistakenly strike a comrade ! But he does fail to use it consistently, and the end result is a slight headache from overuse.

History: Chitin was born and raised in the hive, he fights for his queen always and never wavers in his loyalty to her and to her cause! From his youth he looked up to the soldiers that flew off with the queen and found them food, delicious delicious love! It was hard to watch them go hungry when food sources were low...When the attack on Canterlot happened Chitin was just a rookie and stayed behind to instead help with the young and other such tasks.

Chitin never really liked to stay in the hive, hence why he took the role as a scout, scouting territories and reporting them to the hive, in his travels he's actually gotten a liking for ponies! So unique and diverse, while changelings did have their differences but were mostly the same..Ponies had so many colors, and Chitin decided he liked colors...with the hives permission he set out to live among ponies for a while to study them more, the more information the hive has the better off they are right?

In doing so Chitin learned of many other delicious emotions they could feed off of..fear..which was addicting and so delicious, but was like junkfood..sorrow, which was bitter and yet refreshing..and his favorite of all..passion. A passionate pony gave off a aura that was purely delicious, so spicy and fiery, it set Chitin's heart and soul alight, and he wanted to feel what they did, that passion they had, a passion in their work, in their goals!

After one taste he was hooked and he decided to stay among the ponies that seemed so passionate, fearful, and joyful, he decided to live in Canterlot.

Chitin was also very attracted to shiny and beautiful gems, and he could use his magic to cut them splendedly, so using this he decided to create a ponysona as it were "Diamond Dust" to study, to learn, and to above all else, feel passion.

Character Summary: Chitin is a two sided coin, you have Chitin the loyalist and Chitin the curious! Chitin at his core is loyal to his Queen, his hive, and his kind, and is more than willing to put their needs first in all that he does! He's cocky and likes to toy with victims of the hive, by making them angry and deterimed to strike him down, it makes the defeat so much sweeter! If the Queen herself asked of him to lay down in a puddle so she may cross he would do so without a hesitational thought!.

On the other side there is his natural curiosity, his love for the world around him, the interest in the diverse, the different, the ever changing! That's why he's currently living among ponies! To see them thrive, to see how they manage to all be together, and yet be so different, to see what drives them on, and maybe just maybe have a little taste of that independance himself.

Unique Traits: His magic is amazingly good at cutting and perfecting gemstones for settings and pieces.

History: Diamond Dust is Chitin's disguise to live among Ponies, he claims to be from Whitetail Woods, with two loving parents that have long since retired and want their son to move on to greater things! After he outgrew colthood he had moved on to strike it on his own in Canterlot! Taken under the wing of a kind jewelry shop owner , Diamond Dust worked hard to harness his talents, and to produce quality work!

Character Summary: As Diamond Dust, Chitin is kind, and optimistic, and friendly, always concerned and ever patient, very quiet and meek, and always willing to lend a hoof, in a way it's a polar opposite to how he is normally, it's a lil freaky but he has devoted hours and HOURS of time to perfect this ponysona of his and he's rather fond of it.
