History: Garnet was born to two loving parents who it seemed knew that their son was going to be quite a hoof-full. From the time he could could crawl, the pony always seemed to be exploring new things, often unintentionally getting into trouble. Heeding advice was also a struggle that the two ponies would have to face after hearing Garnet's first word which was "no." Above all they found that their foal was very curious, always interested in seeing and doing as much as he could. Seeing this as hopefully a phase, they tried their best to teach him how compromise and share, concepts that even today the pony hasn't fully grasped yet.As he grew older Garnet experienced several event in his life that shaped his personality while living in the Crystal Empire.

While starting school the teachers quickly learned that the black Crystal Pony didn't care much for authority, perhaps believing that he knew what was right for him and that teachers were just there to spoil his fun and chance to learn things his way. This caused headaches as the red manned pony seemed to do homework and projects his own way and to their amazement often doing well. Group projects, however, were times when Garnet didn't do well at all, believing them to be a waste of time as he felt he could do what was asked in less time than having a group do so. In terms of his classmates, Garnet proved to be a mystery to them. Some saw him as a pony who stood up for them. Others saw him as aloof and cocky, not taking much seriously and seeking to only do things that mattered to him and nopony else. Still he managed to make a few friends that trusted him and as a result he strove to protect them.

It was his the way that he wanted to do things on his own that made him and others realize his desire to do something memorable, something that he could be remembered forever. It was in this revelation that Garnet learned that the way he acted wouldn't help other ponies liking him. He resolved to let others help him, although he still kept his aloof and cocky behavior. His desire to be remembered also related to his catch phrase "Got it memorized," something he used frequently to get ponies to remember. Despite trying to be remembered, Garnet wasn't a pony to want to get his cutie mark too quickly, feeling that it would come someday.

Garnet doesn't like to talk much about the time when King Sombra ruled the Crystal Empire, although when pressed to tell he smugly says how he was a thorn in the king's flank. In reality he was forced to serve the mad creature just like the other ponies and that his vain attempts to defy the king left him with even worse treatment and more work. Because of this time, Garnet reverted to some of his old ways of not trusting adults and it resolving that nopony would tell him what to do. Naturally things became strained with him and his parents after Sombra's defeat, but Garnet knew that they were his family and resolved to listen to them and trust them. With the return of the Crystal Empire, Garnet seeks to see what else is out there in the world while seeing what new things he could discover and new ponies to meet.

Recently, with new information and ideas streaming in from the lands outside the borders of the Crystal Empire after its return Garnet became interested in two things that to this day he fancies. One day while playing during recess, Garnet saw a pony playing with a Frisbee he got from a trip to Canterlot, and after basically bribing the pony to do his homework in exchange for learning this new toy, Garnet soon became a master with the flying disc. He began doing his own tricks like arcing a Frisbee around a corner, across long distances, or even causing it to return back to him by bouncing it off certain objects. Another past-time that Garnet became interested in came from his parents who gave him a special present during one of his birthdays. It was a wooden yo-yo that had a unique spring mechanism that allowed it to rewind on its own. Soon he was learning many new tricks with the toy and along with two Frisbees he would carry these where ever he could to make sure he was never bored. While not even he could explain the allure of these items, he could only guess that because he could ply with them on his own where ever he chose that appealed to him. The fact that others liked what he was doing was an added reason. Now Garnet continues to practice in the hopes that he would be remembered for his skills and even perhaps get his cutie mark.

Character Summary: Garnet has always been considered a complex puzzle of emotions by ponies around him. On a first glance, the black Crystal Pony is seen as calm and mysterious. Yet knowing him more one can seem that he appears frequently aloof and unfazed by things happening around him. Some may see this as lazy, but this is far from the truth as he is a very active pony. He just is focused on what he wants to do and not what he is forced to do.He has a cocky and sometimes sarcastic attitude that adds to his aloof appearance, but it is less of trying to be annoying and more of him trying to show in his own way how he prefers not to mind the small things. He is also stubborn at times, being unmoved by anything but his own thoughts. Despite this, he is a very dependable pony when he wants to be, and after building trust with a fellow pony he will defend and help them as much as he can.

With adults he feels that they don't have his best interests in mind and that they are trying to stop him from being his own pony. The more that deadlines and demands are pushed upon him, the more stubborn he will become. It is only through allowing him to do a task without pressure that will make him feel less encroached upon allowing him to go with the flow of things where he prefers to be in. He is a very bad liar though as he will look away when not telling the truth and acting very nervous. For some reason, Garnet feels girls are "a double dose of complex," as all ponies are complex and adults are and extra dose of complex. This could be a phase as there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to this thought other than something he believes through his own observations.

Beyond his love of discovery and playing with his Frisbees and yo-yo, Garnet has a fancy for ice cream, a taste he acquired as a foal. Although he never would admit it, his fear is of being placed in a position where no pony will be able to or want to help him. He also is afraid of being forgotten, just another nobody lost in a crowd. In general Garnet is a pony that walks to the beat of his own drum and hopes to see and do as much as he can while being remembered.

When exactly did your OC learn about frisbees? Note that they couldn't exist a thousand years before, so you need to specify that your OC got skilled in it once the Empire returned.

Rearranged the part about frisbees and yoyos so that it would come after the Crystal Empire returned.
