starswirlthebearded Posted December 18, 2014 Report Share Posted December 18, 2014 Not at all. A good vocalist and a good VA can change their voice at will. Just look at Rebecca shoichet. She plays Sunset Shimmer and Sings for Twilight Sparkle. She did double duty in Rainbow Rocks, and made both voices sound to the character. Then you have Kazumi Evans who sings for Luna and Rarity, again making the voices unique.Basically a good VA can sing in the voice of their character, and a good vocalist can do the same. It is all about changing pitch. In fact, I can't think of a single VA who has sung in a character's voice, who wasn't able to mimic the character's voice in song.
