Mustangia - Where Ponies Roam Free

 

Mustangia is an especially fertile region of plains land in Southern Equestria which adjoins the greater Saddleveil Plains. It encompasses the entirety of the peninsula by which the White Calf and Suntrot Bays are formed. It is of significant importance to Equestria for the viability of its farmlands, and peculiar for its lack of major settlements aside from the city of Fillydelphia which sits at the far north of the region.

 

The ponies who live there are mostly earth ponies and in most cases have family histories tracing back to the region throughout the ages. These ponies are proud of their identity as mustangs and also of the deep relationship they share with the open plain and all the creatures that can be found there. Most live as small, independent farmers, but there are some who live simple lives just grazing from the land and enjoying the vastness of the natural world around them. The difference in the mustang way of life is sometimes great and can be hard for mustangs to overcome when they choose to visit other locales in Equestria. Some mustangs who live mostly out in the open, are made uncomfortable even by just being inside a pony built structure.

 

Mustang crops are taken to Fillydelphia to sell and trade so that they can reach other parts of Equestria. These crops, touted as being grown with the truest earth pony spirit and ethic, are considered some of the most premium to be found across Equestria. The savviest of mustang farmers are quite successful and find lucrative business. It is a common problem in Mustangia, for a mustang to have more bits than they with their modest, down to earth life styles know what to do with. As a result, mustangs can often times be found taking long vacations, exploring and seeing the larger world.

 

While the mustangs love of vast open spaces and sparse, down to earth living would surely mystify ponies in some of the more bustling Equestrian cities, in Mustangia, all attempts to change or modernize life in the region have been rejected outright. The mustangs simply see no reason to build cities and structures close to each other, believing instead that the best life is one lived as unconstrained and naturally as is possible.
