RWBY ((OOC discussion+sign ups))

In the world of Remnant, creatures known as the "Creatures of Grimm" roam the land. Mankind had battled with the creatures of Grimm for survival since the beginning, but because of their resourcefulness, mankind had discovered 'Dust' which evened the odds against the Grimm. Since then, mankind was able to fight back and survive, using the Dust to power magical abilities and weapons. Now, young Hunters and Huntresses are trained to protect humans from the creatures of Grimm from cornering them into extinction.

We'll be in the city of Vale, attending Beacon Academy. We will be a team of four (i'll figure out the name once we know the characters). We'll be paired during the first test, where we will be launched into the air and land in the forest of Grimm and the first person we see will be our partner.

I'm not sure whether we should be ponies or humans, it seems to be weird to hold weapons with hooves. It would be handy if you know the series, somethings would be difficult to explain if you haven't watched it. Everyone would be 17.

Name: Slash Claw

Gender: Male

Race: Faunus (cat ears)

Appearance: Slash is quite tall and quite muscular, but does not have the body of a body builder. He has short, messy brown hair that his ears poke out of and emerald eyes. He wears brown cargo pants that are rolled up to the bottom of his knees wit a white belt and a chain hanging from the belt loop on the right side of his pants. He also wears a white T-shirt and an orange plaid shirt over it. He wears sports orange and brown sneakers and wraps his hands in bandages.

Weapon: Auralynx. Slash has orange gauntlets (like Yang's) that go from his wrist to his elbow. He can shoot bullets and explosive rounds from his gauntlets, they can also enhance his strength. Inside both his gauntlet, he has a rope kunai that he uses to keep his foe from escaping or to draw himself closer to things (by shooting at the ground or trees and pulling himself towards the target). When he is not in battle, it is retracted to his wrists.

Fighting Style: Slash specializes in close combat, mainly boxing or kickboxing. Even without the enhancement from his gauntlets, he is really strong as one punch can sent a man several feet in the air and through a wall. Slash uses the rope kunai to maneuver around the forest, but is not as effective in a town or building. He also uses the rope kunai to pull back his foe to keep them from escaping. His gauntlets reach up to his elbows so he could block attacks with this arm. Since he is a Faunus, he also has night vision and good hearing, he is also part cat which makes him agile and acrobatic.

Semblance: Slash's semblance (Platforms) allows him to create platforms of any size and any number. He cannot make platforms in spaces he cannot see (i.e behind walls, inside rooms with no window to look into, etc) and cannot make "3d" shapes. The platforms are somewhat able to be used as a shield, but it cannot last long. 

Personality: Slash is a mischievous, kind, and a friendly sort of person. Away from the public eye, he is actually very talkative and at times goofy. Although he is acts as if he doesn't care, he's actually really protective and cares about the people he knows. Even though he seems like a regular guy on the outside, he has many hidden skills and talents that he rarely speaks about. He also doesn't like to brag or people who do. Slash strives to be a good leader and is very loyal, also being very trusting to the right and wrong people. He is very determined and is goal-driven too.

(Anthro would be an alternative if you wanted it. To me that essentially means ponies with the proportions of humans, meaning they still had their tails and their horns/wings, and hooves for feet(or regular feet, whichever), though they would have hands. Anyways, I should be get an app up pretty soon.)

I guess, but that takes away the option of a Faunus. Since my OC is a hybrid, it makes sense to make him a Faunus.

Yeah, makes sense. RWBY races it is, I suppose.

Name: Tehengu

Gender: Male

Race: Human (unless you're willing to let him be a Faunus with wings or increased eyesight from having bird eyes, since he's usually a griffon)

Appearance: Tehengu has a large build, bigger than most anybody else he meets. His musculature is well developed as well. His brown hair hangs naturally, though he keeps it out of his functioning eye. He has a bandanna going over the ruined eye in a way that still leaves his working green eye uncovered. He wears a set of light armor painted black.

Weapon: His weapon is a large bow that can shoot arrows over very long distances, essentially making it a silent sniper rifle. It can also collapse into a large blade for when his enemies get into melee range. He is best at picking off his enemies at range, hitting them where it hurts and not letting them get close enough to fight back.

Personality: He is generally laid back when he's not on a mission, nice to his friends and allies. He is fiercely loyal, willing to do what is needed of him. He will not abandon or betray his friends and allies. When he is on the job he becomes serious, focused on getting the job done while not letting his friends and allies die.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to have fully anthro (fingers and toes) be the stand in for humans. Semi anthro (leg hooves and other animalistic traits?) For the faunis

It's better to keep it full anthro with both since having more than one animalistic traits would make them more animal than human. They also do this in the show.

Gender: Female

Race: Faunus

Appearance: Small for her age, she has long dark blue hair that her ears come out of, along with amber eyes. She is lithe in build, her arms looking like they don't possess much strengh, her legs the same and herself looking small to the general observer. She'll often wear a black shirt, with a long trench coat and tight pants, and boots, all in black. Other times she changes her outfit, but in the field, she'll always wear the same.

Weapon: Midnight carrier two large blades, that she has the holsters for on her back under her coat. The first one, Judgement, is a long black blade with a hilt that is extremely advatagious in use of combat against other blades. The second one, Requiem, has a modified blade, allowing her to use it in assoaition of Dust if she has access to it. The blades can be connected to form a duel-hilted weapon, or held in each hand seperately.

Midnight doesn't believe in carrying a form of firearm, instead simply having a whip and her own abilities to get close to her enemies and finish them off. If all else fails, she can use Dust attacks from her second blade to attack her enemies from a distance.

Fighting Style: Midnight doesn't carry a weapon that allows her to attack from range (Outside her blades, Requiems dust attacks) meaning she relies heavily on her own speed and agility, plus her weapons, to get in close to engage. She is extremely powerful with her blades, but her hand-to-hand fighting technique is custom and very powerful. Often times she'll think about her engage, when she has the time or isn't emotionally invested, going from a stragtegic position. If left with little choice, she will use Dust to engage her enemies at range, but often uses it as distractions to keep her enemies occupied in order for her to get in nice and close and finish her enemies.

Personality: Known for often keeping to herself, Midnight enjoys the company of books and herself. She doesn't make friends easily, and hence often doesn't bother trying to make them in the first place. She'll often never do something without personal gain, and never usually on a whim. Unknown to many, she loves to sing and take care of wildlife, animals and plants alike.

 

Sembalance: 'Prediction' - Midnight can 'see' the projection of any object that is thrown at her/in her direction. The objects speed doesn't matter, however she is unable to 'track' large objects such as planes/gunships. She can see the lines from the moment the object begins to move, however if the objects tragetory changes, the lines she sees change with them (Meaning she can see its new location, not predict if it keeps moving)

Name: Andrea Indigo.
 

Gender: Female, she-her pronouns
 

Race: Hugh man.
 

Appearance: Being only 5' even, Andrea is quite short with a slim yet toned build. Her hair is a little longer then shoulder length, and is a light shade of pink. Her eyes are turquoise. Traditionally, Andrea wears a smokey gray hooded coat that goes down to just above her ankles. Under this robe, Andrea will usually wear a pair of black high wasted leggings, a white mid sleeve shirt. a dark blue vest, and a pair of black lace up military boots.
 

Weapon: Andrea keeps a concealed blade attached to a small gauntlet that she wears on her forearm hidden under her sleeve. This gauntlet is capable of quietly launching the concealed blade at a middling range. Because of this, She tends to keep spares ranging from 10 to 20 depending on the mission. Andrea, also carries around a short sword for head to head combat. She has been known to add elemental dust to both of these weapons for added spice.

 

SemblanceFerrokinesis, the ability to control all metals with ones mind. With this Ability, Andrea is able to command any metal that she has made contact with. Whether that be with her own hands or an item that is under the effect of her spell. Once the item is under her spell, she is able to move it, bend it, break it, throw it, spin it in any which way she desires. this ability usually requires her concentration but some techniques such as picking basic locks, and levitating her own weapons have become second nature to her. Andrea is able to manipulate certain objects without touching them provided she has been in the presence of these object for a long time and has become familiar with their metallic signature.
 

Fighting Style: Andrea does not like to fight in open combat, She prefers to take her opponents by surprise, usually from above. When forced into open combat though, She prioritizes escape. Failing that, Andrea will try to keep her distance using her semblance to fling and slash with all her blades. Andrea will also grip onto any metal nearby to get some sucker punches and surprise hits in. If she can, Andrea will attempt to make contact with the opponent or their weapon to use her semblance to immobilize them. Thanks to her sister Beatrice, Andrea has incorporated elemental dust bombs into her inventory. She tends to use smoke and flash bombs to assist in her sneaky misadventures, but is not above using incendiary grenades or just straight up fragmentation grenades. 
 

Personality: Andrea is brash, arrogant, rather smug, and a tad aggressive. She sees others as nothing but a hindrance or an audience to impress. Andrea will usually fight with a lot of showmanship and flamboyancy when allies are present in an attempt to show off her perceived superiority. Andrea is also very insecure about her emotions, preferring to knowingly or not, put up a front, of anger or annoyance to hide feelings of fear, sadness or love. Andrea has a great appreciation for people she considers family and would be willing to do anything for them.

 

 

Name: Beatrice Indigo.
 

Gender: Female, she-her pronouns
 

Race: Hugh man.
 

Appearance: Beatrice is 5'7" with a lean and dainty build and pale skin. Her black hair is about chin length in the front, shortening out a bit in the back Her eyes are Dark blue. Usually, Beatrice will wear a Thigh length Forest green trench coat who's insides are coated with hooks and racks that hold all of her bombs, casings and bomb components. Along with this she wears black slack pants and heavy duty boots. Underneath her coat, Beatrice wears a bomb proof armoured long sleeved vest. Beatrice, also wears reinforced leather gloves,leg and knee paddings.
 

Weapon: Beatrices weapons of choice are bombs. She carries all sorts of different bombs for different situations. For offense she has: Incendiary, shrapnel, freeze, lightning, cherry, and Gravity pulse. For defense, she carries: Flash, smoke, noise makers, hard light, bolas/net, and wirling bombs that orbit her. Beatrice isn't always so direct though, she has many tricky options with her bombs as well, such as: Wind for disrupting traps, Proximity mines for traps, Noxious gas, and high shockwave propulsion bombs for high speed movements. She also carries various empty casings and bomb components to make new bombs on the fly. When all else fails, Beatrice will use her semblance and resort to using her good ol' reliable fists and feet.

 

Semblance: Toughness. Beatrice's Semblances is the amazing ability to withstand all kinds of physical damage and attacks. You could strike this woman in the solar plexus with a steel bat and she would hardly even wince. The Semblance is always active and will not turn off so long as Beatrice has access to her aura whether she is awake or asleep. 

 

 

Fighting Style: Beatrice attacks relentlessly with her explosives, instantly analysing the current situation and picking the right bombs for that precise moment. All the while, Beatrice will attempt to think her opponent ahead, to catch them in a corner, preventing them from fleeing, or to catch them in a trap. Beatrice will utilize her toughness to sore herself through the air with her bombs to close the gap as she believes that the closer the bomb is from the sender to the target the harder it is to dodge. Beatrice unfortunately has an over reliance on her semblance using it to take unneeded hits to create openings in her opponents tactics. despite the strength of her semblance, If one was to outlast it, of disable it, she would be in serious trouble.

 

 

Personality: Beatrice is, unbeknownst to everyone else, a worrywart and very empathetic. She cares deeply for the happiness and well being of others and especially her sisters, who she would be willing to die for. Beatrice cares deeply for settling depts and repaying favours, even if they aren't her own as she believes in justice, fairness and showing kindness to others. Beatrice does not know how to confront her fears and is far more liable to freeze or flee. Thankfully she isn't afraid of much though Beatrice is very ashamed of her past actions considering herself irredeemable and part of the old guard of hate that needs to be eliminated from the world. All of this is hidden behind Beatrice's natural deadpan and monotone voice, buried deep within her heart.

It should be fine. Usually there's only one Faunus on a team. If there was to be two, They would be half of different animals. This is my first RWBY RP, so it won't matter.

I'll do the cover art once we get started. I'd probably draw them as humans instead of ponies, so I won't be able to upload. They'd probably look cooler as humans with their weapons XD

From what i remember, team names are composed by taking the first letter of each team mamber (Hence why RWBY is is Ruby, Whice, Blake, Yang)

So we have TMSA (Unless we bend the rules to make a better name)

I can't think what it makes right now, but that's what (I think) we have to work with.
