Cutie Mark: Heart dripping with poison. A neighboring island was in the midst of a guild conflict while Heart was visiting one of her many beaus. Using her beauty and other methods she was able to convince her beau (a prince of the island) to at least consider going out on a date with the head of one of the guilds in conflict, a lonely and angry stallion. This happened and led to the guild conflict getting resolved thanks to her beau and the guild head getting married. (Secretly on her own orders to her head over heels beau) The fact the Prince considered himself heterosexual didn't matter as long as he believed it was temporary and would earn her love and trust. He understood that to be false only when she stopped returning his letters.

History/Summary:

Heart Stopper was born to the Duke and Duchess Heart in Kastrot amidst a time of great joy. Their family's power was growing and they were seen as a steady enough force in the city to be trusted within several powerful alliances. Heart Stopper and her siblings came in quick order, seemingly proving that a family devoted to the more enticing charges of love and the commerce of passion could thrive in a city with as much backstabbing as Kastrot does. Heart Stopper was given the finest education possible and excelled, whether through natural ability or endless charm. But ponies are far more wary of her and her siblings than they are of the parents anyway.

Heart Stopper has done her part to contribute to that, seemingly manipulating others since she was born. At first her parents assumed it was due to the servants' obligations but as she grew older and her area of influence grew they realized it was anything but. Heart Stopper is beyond a natural beauty, she is nearly a carved in stone, drawn in the mind model of perfect form and function. Unlike some who would seek to not have beauty be used as a weapon or to define them, she wields it like a sword.

It doesn't help that she has always been given what she wants. Her parents doted on her as a foal but even as she has grown she has almost never failed. The line of sycophants is long and her generosity honest and true to those who submit to her will. Even those who normally would oppose her tend to go weak in the knees with her beauty, flirting ability, and capability for lies and deceit rolled together. Sometimes what she wants is simple and understandable but more than a few ponies have been caught like puppets wrapped up in string, dancing for her amusement until such a time as she has been sufficiently amused. She has an innate ability to play to the desire of others in just such a way as to eventually have them wrapped around her hoof

This has made her a tool in the political wars of the city, ones her family were once immune from but now find themselves wrapped up in. She enjoys it, actually. Watching the dance of families is entertaining and getting involved and watching the strings get caught up in one another. She has no real goal in them besides the comfort of herself and those she likes. Because of that she feels more free to play around with what she can do when she is older, forging her own secret cabal of lovelorn followers and playthings out of the sons and daughters of the other major families.

Of course, few things can facilitate her sort of playtime as the role she plays on the island. The Heart family prides itself on being matchmakers to the last and of all the neighborhoods of Kastrot what makes their island stand apart is that every relationship is put down on paper, entrusted to the family's care, and arranged by the family. While spontaneous romances are not outlawed, they must be reviewed and approved by the family and any relationships that are made by the family are considered the lawful and correct choice for that pony. Each member of the family is charged with a specific set of relationships and Heart Stopper presides over all relationships made with passion.

She got this role as part of her cutie mark, where she was responsible for arranging a relationship that put to an end a guild conflict on a neighboring island. And indeed, she is responsible for a lot of positive young love and relationships of every age being rekindled. She isn't against happiness, after all. But she certainly abuses her powers and relationship in the city's power structure. She likes to help build families but she doesn't mind tearing them apart if the parents oppose her and more than a few maids and servants have found themselves forced into relationships she herself enjoys for every reason other than their happiness. Using her power and beauty to get her way, she truly is a terror to her enemies because half the time they end up condemning themselves for reasons lost in her eyes.

To her friends and those who do well by her she is a much kinder pony. While nopony can excuse her for a truly wonderful pony, she will often shower those she favors with gifts and dreams coming true. She can be forgiving of trespasses and errors made by others if they are balanced out by doing well by her. She attracts a great many admirers based on her beauty but also on account of her ability to make the impossible a reality, or at least as close as she can. Whether it is returning a favor or going out on a limb to incur debt on another's behalf, she will go out of her way to help make true even the most peculiar of desires. Some say this is on account of her beauty, wealth, and access to any number of secrets, technologies, and artifacts. Others don't both questioning how she makes it happen and maybe that's for the best.
