Residence: A quaint little stone cottage grown over with ivy and honeysuckle on the outskirts of Ponyville.

Occupation: Bunny creates graphic novels for a living! She has been gaining a fair bit of acclaim in the industry thanks to her popular ongoing series called Sailor Mare!

Cutie Mark: A small white white rabbit holding a pen being cradled by a crescent moon.

Bunny was always a shy filly growing up: being awkward and narcoleptic made her feel as though she stood apart from the rest of the ponies her age in the worst ways. As a very tiny, bespectacled filly with a mouthful of braces and a tendency to fall asleep mid-sentence, she simply didn’t have much confidence in herself. It didn’t help that she grew up in Manehattan, a fast-paced city that was always bustling and felt like it was leaving her behind. She had two or three friends, but even still she always struggled to come out of her shell. So instead, she began to retreat further into it. Her family’s apartment was just around the corner from a pretty big comic book store, and it was during her first visit to that shop that Bunny felt something come to life deep within her heart.

The comics she read were...indescribable. She spent every shred of allowance she had been saving for a whole year on comics that day! Romance stories, magical filly stories, superhero stories: she devoured them all, awed by the delicacy of the linework in the art and the moving stories. For the shy little filly who was afraid to be herself around anypony who wasn’t her mama or papa, comics really brought a passionate fire out of her. And of course it goes without saying that soon after she started reading comics, she began making them as well!

At first it didn’t go well at all. She spent over a year working and working and always being frustrated with herself. She had so many stories she wanted to tell but she was never satisfied enough with her own work to make more than a few pages before throwing in the towel. She continued on like this until one day, prompted by her mother, she decided to enter the Up-and-Coming Young Artists comic contest. Her comic was a play on the Ugly Duckling story, and followed a young filly with no friends who always felt out of place. Through acts of kindness, the filly slowly begins to feel more beautiful and important, until she finally realizes in the end that she was only ever an ugly duckling in her own eyes.

Bunny moved away from Manehattan shortly after submitting the comic, and subsequently spent every day in her new home believing that even if she won a prize in this contest it’d never find her. She fretted and worried and paced and eventually gave up when she thought too much time had passed without word. She was defeated - she really really thought she could at least manage an honourable mention.

And then, a few months later, the mail she was waiting for arrived! Within the envelop was a letter and...her comic! Well, it was a copy of a monthly comic publication with her comic in it...but still! It was her comic! She squealed and immediately tore open the letter (which said that she had been chosen as the winner!) then flipped through the comic like a filly gone mad. It really was hers! Seeing her work in print like that just made something click in her heart, and with her nose shoved into the book, her rump began to shine and her cutiemark appeared! She knew from that moment on that she would make a living off of her comics one day!

History: Crystal Moon’s life has always been a quiet one, with most of her days spent locked away and drawing her copies furiously. She moved around quite a few times as a filly thanks to her father’s tendency to get restless and bored staying in one spot for too long, which made it tough to form any really lasting friendships. It gave her a great deal of time to develop her creative skills, however, and her career has seriously benefited from it. Even with all those hurdles in place from hopping around so much in her youth, she at least managed to form a form one solid friendship with a pegasus pianist named Sky Sailing! So when she finally decided to move out on her own (in one spot for a change), she had her heart set on Cloudsdale...except for the tiny detail that she wasn’t a pegasus. After researching spells that would let her walk on clouds and an unfortunate incident that almost caused her to fall up to her doom, she finally settled on Ponyville.

She’s still very new to the town, and hasn’t really come out of her house much thanks to an impending deadline, but she’s looking forward to forming new friendships with the ponies who live there! And of course she’s determined to continue on making graphic novels, especially Sailor Mare. It’s her most prized work, and it means a lot to her!

Character Summary: Where to begin? Crystal Moon is a very quirky pony! On the surface she’s...pretty boring, actually. A bit bland, with her narcolepsy (that sometimes causes her to fall asleep mid-sentence) being the only interesting quality that others can really see. She’s very friendly and talkative (especially compared to when she had braces and soda bottle glasses), but her lack of social skills is sorely apparent, especially when she speaks boldly and frankly with that bored, sleepy tone of hers.

Once somepony earns her trust enough to get her to let down her guard, however...well...then the floodgates come down and you see the real Crystal Moon. Excitable, loud, irrevocably obsessed with anything she deems cute (ribbons, candy, bunnies, love, spiders, bunnies, sweets, bunnies...you get the point!), and 100% dedicated to protecting the purity and sweetness of true love! She can also be pretty dramatic about the littlest things, and tends to be a bit clingy, emotionally and physically.

She’s also head over hooves in love! A foalhood friend whom she knew briefly in Manehattan, who she still remembers to this day as being kind and sweet to her even in her most awkward years, is the object of her affections. More than anything else she can remember his gentle smile, which is the biggest inspiration for her well-loved male lead in Sailor Mare known as Tuxedo Mustang! She refuses to believe her memories might be even the slightest bit skewed by time or her own love-o-vision, too, so trying to talk sense to her will always fall on deaf ears.

It’s also very important to know that this pony loves food: particularly sweets. Like most creative types she’s pretty awful at taking care of herself when trying to meet a deadline, and as such her diet is made up of 95% sweets. And by Celestia does she ever love them...seeing food wasted or untouched gets her in a proper fit, and can even break that flat, boring outer shell of hers! She can get the same way when the integrity of these things have been offended: cute outfits/accessories/anything, mares and fillies in love, a maiden’s pure heart, graphic novels/comics, and especially her graphic novels and comics!
