What's the deal with Tattooing ocs nowadays?

Recommended Posts

I don't have anything against people who want to have their oc have tattoos, it's just that why are tattooing pony ocs popping up faster than Cloud doing his daily training? I mean Cloud does have only one tattoo on his neck. I can accept a little ink on a pony, but I don't like seeing peoples ocs covered almost head to hoof in nothing but tattoos. It's like the oc looks more like a pony that tries out every single new tattoo design that another oc wants on their body. A little ink is fine, but a lot of ink is not okay. I'm not hating on the tattoo artist that we have here. I just wanted to get this off my chest. If I offended any of the people who have their ocs covered head to hoof in tattoos, I'm very sorry. If I made anyone mad, I'm also sorry too.

Please, don't ever apologize for having an opinion. People are way too sensitive these days.

I think they just do it because they like tattoos. They might not want full-body tattoos, but at least their OCs can have them. My OC's "Cutie Mark" is a tattoo symbol from her "clan," so to speak. It's not full-body, and I don't even really like tattoos, but I think it looks kinda cool. That'd be another reason to have a lot of tattoos for your OC. Those excessive designs remind me a little of the Japanese Yakuza, though, which isn't really a good thing.

I'm sure no one would get angry at you for saying this.

Speak for yourself.

I don't care that you personally don't like OCs with a lot of tattoos. I personally think grimdark is disgusting, and dislike OCs based off it. Opinions are opinions - everyone has them, it's inevitable that some are going to be different than others.

But deciding something is "not okay" just because you personally don't like it rubs me the wrong way, especially since you felt the need to call me out. If you don't want to offend anyone, maybe next time don't tell people that their opinion is "not okay" because it happens to differ from your own.

Well, gee, I guess I was wrong.

At any rate, we all have our opinions. I think ponies (specifically OCs) are a means for many people to express themselves. But you can still dislike an OC or its design without disliking the person who created it.

It's perfectly fine to say "I'm not a fan of tattoos"

It's NOT fine to go " Having tattoos beyond what I find acceptable is wrong and bad and terrible"

I wasn't calling you out in general. I was just stating my opinion.

He was saying that in the realm of his own opinion. To him having too much tattoo is bad. It doesn't have to apply to anyone else.
