Two months later...

 

The others were outside the temple preparing to head back to Canterlot. Kane stood inside the temple in the middle of the four masters. "You have come a long way, Kane. Truly the dragon inside of you is responding well. But you still have a long journey ahead of you. It is time for your final test." Master Aegon said, whispering a word in dragon tongue and creating an image on the ground of a crown. "You must find this artifact. It is the Crown of the Stormborn, it was worn by the ancient dragon queen Daenerys. With it, you will learn the greatest of our secrets, and access the pull power of the Dragon Tongue."

 

Autumn looked at the temple door nervously. "What if he can't come home with us yet?  I don't feel good with leaving him here alone." She said to herself. "He's a fighter, Autumn. He'll be alright." Silverthorn said comfortingly.

"He'll be safer here, try to keep your mind focused on training. Kanes probably diving into his training so he's not too focused on your safety." Flint reminded her as he watched Tavi support an awake Trax. He had awoken a week ago, still in pain but functional, his other senses were heightened enough to where he wasn't completely blinded of the world around him. Hazel, with the help of Tavi's magical power, conjured and fully manifested a sword kane for him to use. "Two months huh? I may not have magic myself anymore, but I can still tell when someone has gotten stronger, and that goes for all of you. Well done." He told the younger ones proudly. Black threw up a thumbs up with a big grin, Hazel nodded respectfully, even with his magic power gone she stilm had that gut feeling that Trax was by no means incapable of defending himself.

Autumn and Silverthorn both smiled at Trax's praise when Kane suddenly emerged from the temple. He had been hidden away from the others for a lot of his training, and his appearance was now drastically different. His hair was down to his shoulders, markings in an unknown language had been tattooed on his upper arms and shoulders, his muscles had grown slightly and his eyes gave away a light azure light, almost as if it were burning in blue flames. The others were shocked to see Kane's new appearance, but Autumn, who had snuck away several times with Kane in the night, was already used to the changes. He wore a suit of black leather armor with a crest of a crimson, three-headed dragon on the chest with a hood and cloak for concealment. "Gods, Kane..." Blade said, his wounds still not fully healed but was able to take part in some of the training. "You look just like one of the ancient dragon riders we learned about in ancient magical history class." Kane nodded. "So it would seem."

Trax looked up as if to sense Kanes presence before he spoke, "Well I hope thats not all thats changed about you, Soul sent you here to get stronger and learn. He'd be proud of you, Kane."

Kane nodded to Trax in respect. "I know he would. He'd be proud of you all as well. You are the ones who got me here, and I thank you all for that." Autumn approached him nervously. "So I guess this means you won't be back any time soon?" She asked. Kane sighed. "I must find an ancient artifact that is important to our order. The Masters said it is the key to unlocking the truth about the dragon inside of me."

"Then we will not hinder you're test, besides, we have our own testing to do." Flint said as he walked up to Kane, "Congratulations Kane, keep up the hard work." He told him kindly before facing the group, "Lets go."

"Please be safe..." Autumn said softly to Kane, a nervous sound to her voice. Kane softly kissed her for a brief moment. "I promise." He said. Autumn hesitantly turned to go with the others. "Be safe. Tell everybody back at school I said hey." He told them. 

 

((So while Kane is away are the others going back to Canterlot? I was thinking they'd try to investigate why Flint turned once they got back or something.))

((Sounds good, they could all have spoken the night before without Flint and Trax to discuss about confronting him about it.))

 

Flint took the lead as he lead them down the mountain, once at a good spot, he used his magic to separate a slab of rock beneath their feet and controlled their speed as they slid down the mountain at a faster pace. Tavi glanced at Blade and the others, remembering their talk the night before about confronting Flints actions two months ago. Why had he suddenly turned evil? Trax stood still balancing with his cane, sensing the others nervousness, he decided against saying something about it. From the awkward silence, he could tell he would soon find out.

Kane turned back to the temple. Master Aegon and the other masters stood before him. "It is time for you to depart, Kane. Fulfill your destiny and return as the dragon that lives within you." Kane nodded. "I will not fail. I will return with the Crown. I will honor Soul's sacrifice."

 

((Should we timeskip to them just returning to Canterlot and Flint gets confronted for his actions?))

The groups excitement grew as the Institute came into view on the horizon. It had been nearly half a year since they last left to escort Kane to the Mountain Temple, they had stayed there for a couple months before leaving, then spending a few more months traveling back, training the entire time. As they came closer, Flint, Blade, and Tavi could feel a certain pressure coming from the Schools perimeter. A magic force field, a powerful one. Upon coming closer, Flint could also see there were people waiting for them, Una and Dossay of the Magic Prison. Once close, they singled out Hazel and pulled her away to the side. Black inhaled, "Ahhhh its good to be back."

Once they were close, several battlemages suddenly surrounded the group with their swords drawn and a spell ready in their other hand. Moonshield was standing next to Una and Dossay and stepped forward towards the group. "The others are innocent, do them no harm." He said to protect the others as he walked up to Flint. "Flint Dragneal, by order of the Princesses and Archmage Twilight Sparkle, you are under arrest for tampering with dark magic and for being an accomplice in the murder of Soulscream."

Flint went grim, Tavi and Black flinched, Trax stood still and unmoving. Flint slowly brought up his hands and held them out, "Good to see you too." He said softly with understanding. Trax felt eyes starring at him from up ahead, "Caesar..." As soon as he spoke, Caesar flashed behind Flint, facing Trax, with Flint suddenly falling unconscious to the ground. "All will be explained, for now head inside and get some rest, you deserve it." He told them strictly, a tone that was uncommon from him. Trax met Caesars gaze with his pale blue eyes, "Where he goes, I go." He said firmly. Caesar narrowed his eyes, "Careful, Trax." He warned as he noticed Trax had slightly drawn his sword cane. Tavi and Black both took steps forward but were stopped as Laxus laid hands on their shoulders, "Best not to intervene, the situation is fragile, please just go with it. Times are different now." He told them urgently. Trax and Caesar held their glares a little longer before Trax finally sheathed his cane sword, Caesar smirked and gave him a slight nod of acknowledgement, it was a good bluff on Traxs part.

 

Up atop the wall, Sun watched patiently, she had several magical circles at the ready just in case there was a problem. But now she was stunned, "I... I can't sense any magic from Trax... at all."

"Take him away." Moonshield ordered as the battlemages lifted Flint off the ground and carried him off to a holding cell. Twilight was nearby and watched Flint as they took him away, the pain in her heart from the whole situation still fresh. She approached the group and pretended to be composed. "It's been a long time, friends. We're relieved to finally see you home. Are any of you seriously injured or anything?"

"Only my eyes from watching my friend being treated like a war criminal." Black said icily. "Hush yourself!" Tavi scolded before walking up to Twilight, "Obviously there are some things that need to be settled, we were going to confront him on what had happened, but not like this." She told her.

 

Hazel turned from watching Flint be carried away, back to Una and Dossay, after they had explained Oakly's escape from Prison. "You two have a history, and we need to know that if he contacts you, you will report it to us. No exceptions." Una reminded her sternly, and obvious fire of hate burned her eyes. Dossay glanced at Una nervously, wondering if she was taking this a little too far, afterall no one was injured or killed in the breakout. Hazel met Una's glare evenly, "I won't make any promises, but I will be wary of his whereabouts." She said stone faced, Una grit her teeth in annoyance, "Your other friends were more forthcoming than you, ironic how that is." She hissed before turning away, Dossay dipped his head apologetically before following Una back to the gate. 

 

Caesar walked up to Trax and handed him a list, "The new Circle Members have been added, though with you're recent development, your position is hazy. You know the rules of the Circle." He told him lazily. Trax looked at the list; Notcing Caesar applied magic to translate the writing in brail so he could read, He and Blade were of course there, Tavi had also been added, along with seven others he didn't recognize. Probably those with hidden talents and skills.

Twilight sighed and looked away from Tavi for a moment. "Tavi...he was there when the love of my life was murdered. You know how jealous he was of Soul..." she stopped herself before she said anything else. "I'm not accusing him of anything, I just...I need to know the truth. He will be given a fair trial." 

 

Blade left the others and returned to his room alone. He stared down at his desk with all of his notes about the stones on it. He felt rage inside of him that they were stolen from him. "This isn't over..."

"Trial? Twilight, you heard what Trax and Blade said, he wasn't himself. Flint may have been jealous, but he would never do such a thing as murder Soul or help in anyway. We have a lot of questions that need answered, I get that, but treating him like a Criminal?" Tavi pleaded, Flint had helped them alot with their training, barely focusing on himself during that time. Selflessly looking after everyone.

 

Black got to his room dropping his bags before slamming his fist against the wall, instantly forming an icy blasting, "This is Bull!" 

 

Hazel went her rooms window and folded her arms, "What are you doing Oakly..."

 

Trax took to the Circle Chambers, greeting  the butler Zao with a dip of his head, "Whiskey, on the rocks, please." Zao had the drink ready in seconds before sliding it to Trax, even without his eyesight, he could hear the glass slide towards him and caught it with ease. "Thank you." He said before taking a sip, which then turned to a gulp finishing half of the drink. "Gonna be one of those days..." he said nostalgically as Zao went ahead and set the bottle on the counter for him.

 

Flint awoke with an icy chill as he was submerged up to his neck in icy cold water, his hands and feet bound by magical chains to negate magic. But the real line of defense, was the invisible cubed barrier that surrounded his cage, set by none other than Caesar himself. He felt a slight hint of betrayal but also understood at the same time, He'd do the exact same in their place. Especially for a Monster like him.

"It's out of my hands now Tavi...I'm sorry." Twilight said with sadness, dipping her head in shame to keep people from seeing the tears in her eyes. She composed herself before speaking again. "Where is Kane?"

"Stayed behind at the Temple, the Masters there are training him. Soul was right, they were expecting him." Tavi told her before sighed reluctantly, sometimes you just have to flow with the river of life. "I'm gonna go wash off, then we should go get a drink. I'm sure Zao won't mind sneaking us some wine since we're not apart of the Circle." She suggested softly. "Not the case anymore Tavi, as of now, you are an Official Member of the Circle. Congratulations." Sun spoke as she rolled up to them, Tavi looked at her weirdly then went wide in shock, "What? How, when, ... why?"
