Sky knew that if this kept up.... they weren't going to make it. He looked at the ODST's, begging himself that they could look after each other if he went off. He knew that they could, he was a ODST once himself, they didn't die easy. He sighed, then he made his choice.

"Get ready to get low, im rushing the building flanking us. Il take their attention off you, with a spartan inside they should all start to pay attention to the closer threat. Keep each other alive. Once iv cleared the building il provide cover fire for you to catch up to me. ODST's protect there own"

After he said that, he grabbed both his magnums, getting up, and started sprinting as fast as he could. He heard the ODST's laying down more or less, giving them very good protection as they were to low to be hit easily, though from the lack of gunfire that he heard from them meant they couldn't shoot. As he leaped over the circle, he felt four rounds hit his shield, it didn't stop him. He heard the sound of bullets tracing him,but he didn't stop. With every step he heard about fifty shots land around him. He quickly used his evade once he was around four meters from the building, launching himself through a bottom floor window, creating a VERY loud crash. He layed against the wall, having crashed into it, thanking his luck for holding out. He got up, pulling his DMR off his back, and raised it, moving for the stair case.

"This is the recon team, we have established a firing line and have taken out a total of 17 enemies and are now moving to a new vantage point over! There is less resistance going through quadrant b7 on your tactical radar! Take that to the left sector and head to town square through the alley!!! We will lay down covering fire from above!" The voice of one of the marines crackled before clicking out.

Nova had fought her pain and stumbled forward. She didn't look right, her right arm hanging down and her head seemingly tilted to the side.

one marine saw this. His eyes watching her as she stopped and seemed to stare. "Commander? What's the matter?" He asked.

Sol didn't hear him. Her ears rang as she stared out the window and watched the fire of bullets and plasma fly. She blinked through the tint of Red on her interior visor. She was going into a spiral. One that she could get when either exilerated or terribly wounded. Images flashed back and forth between fire and reality.

Her hands gripped her flame thrower and adrenaline started pumping through her veins. The word from the comm kept ringing in her head. Quadrant b7...... Left sector....alley~" she began repeating it in her head as her feet began dragging her to the far exit. Her mind began to race.

Then the laughter started. The meniachal laughter as she kicked the door open although her body screamed for her to stop. She primed the flame throwers tanks and tore out into the street.

Flames flared and flew several dozen yards as she pushed the weapon to full power! She booted up the side fire escapes and kept up to the nearest rooftop!!

A group of enemy elites turned and aimed their weapons at the laughing Spartan as she tore forward and zig zagged like a maniac!! They fired and the shots sort of hit their mark, if bouncing off her shields were hitting.

She got too close and now it was time for her fun. Fire blasted out and wrapped around the foes. The cries of the alien warriors rang out as they burned, whipping around and flailing as they were panicked.

"ITS LIKE A BALLET AND IM THE CONDUCTOR!!!!!AHAHAHAHA!!!!" She screamed as she drew her fire bombs and threw them like baseballs at a few stragglers. The grenades exploded into fire, incinerating everything it touches.

The enemy saw the main threat and all enemies in the closer areas took their aim and began opening fire on sol.

Now even while crazed, she wasn't stupid. She giggled and grabbed a burning elite. Yanking him off his balance and taking him for a ride as she used his burning form as a shield!!! She ran to the other side of the rooftop. Firing over his shoulder with a magnum at the assult force. When close enough she kicked the elite forward and sprayed napalm with her weapon all over the enemy forces. Panicking them too and breaking their organization!!

It seemed like she couldn't be stopped. Until a random elite came up behind her. Seizing her helmet, yanking her back and throwing her into the floor of the roof! Her flamethrower slid. Her shock got the best of her and she siezed up as the elite lept on her and began to unload plasma rounds into her armor over and over till her shields broke, her armor burned and she went flat.

The alien gave a roar of triumph before throwing the weapon against her helmet with a clamor and stepped off the seemingly dead Spartan.

"Spartan sol nova just went off and tore quite a hole in the enemy force!!! But..... She just got blasted to pieces!!! She cleared the way.... But she's dead!!!" The recon team reported.

The recon team was well, and provided them with a route ahead. All was in order. They would have to fight to cut their way there, but they could feasibly...

Mike foxtrot.

"What are you doing? Get back here." He must have neglected to properly check on his fellow Spartan, as she went on a mental breakdown and cheerfully skipped into the waiting plasma. How she ever passed psych eval, he might never know. He regarded the soldiers in the room and went to the fire exit. "Marines. Follow me, at a distance. Help the wounded to move, hang back, stay covered and keep your guard behind us."

Scout ran after her up to the roof and got to work sniping the Elites around her in order to, potentially, raise her slim chance of survival. The cold pragmatist in him was at least pleased to have an armed decoy drawing the hostiles further out of cover.

Ballet... try 'train wreck', conductor. And she did hit them like a train, but soon she crashed to a halt. An Elite warrior broke camouflage right behind her, and Scout lost the shot in that critical moment. If the ensuing barrage didn't kill her, she was doubtlessly incapacitated and critically wounded. Their armour's heat-resistant and refractive coating might help but there was only so much damage a Spartan could sustain.

When she fell the triumphant Elite warrior was the only standing target. Scout seized the chance to move up shredding shields with rifle rounds and taking his knife through the Elite's throat once in range, before he could recover.

Had to be quick now. He contacted the remaining Spartan Sky with a terse "Nova is down." Next he examined the fallen Hellbringer. Was she breathing? His HUD should show if she was still alive by her armour's monitoring systems, but there was a possibility even they were fried. Either way... damned if he let the Covenant have the MJOLNIR set, or the body. He holstered his DMR on the magnetic strip at his back, pushed the flamethrower aside and lifted Nova.

Spartans never die. It was another ONI lie, fabricated for morale in the early interstellar war when the victories were pyrrhic and losses devastating. It was later revoked and Spartans could be listed as KIA, but the saying seemed appropriate.

The path was clear, alright... with an eye on his motion sensor he carried the downed Spartan forward and spoke again to the recon squad. "Get to the square if you can but survival takes priority. Stay alive out there, recon team." And to the marines... his marines? "Form up people. We're headed for the town square through that alley. Keep watch for our other contingent over there. When we encounter resistance, keep to cover and fire at will. Assault troops focus on breaking their defence, marksmen take their heads off. Now move out, double time. Cover to cover."

Sky knew he had to move fast, and as soon as he reached the stairs, he bolted up them, DMR held ready. As he was going up, he heard the footstep of someone going down. He took a deep breath, then went around the corner, his rifle aimed. He fired three times, each shot piercing his chest, killing him instantly. Sky was insanely worried, he had just left ODST;'s surrounded on their own. He had to rush through these guys if he wanted to save them.

As he continued going up, he heard gunfire all from the floor. He stopped, looking at a door which he could hear a lot, a LOT of gunfire from behind. He took another deep breath, kicking open the door and rolling through.

As he rolled through, he looked to his left, noticing six hostiles, two elites, four humans, and two on the ground. As got up, he looked to his right, seeing another six, two of which were elites, and four more on the ground. So, one on twelve? He quickly leaped up, his rifle raised. He fired two shots, each one hitting the gun of one of the guys, then quickly let out the rest of his clip. He heard three shots ring, and he watched as one of the rounds tore through someone. The other two more or less bounced off some lucky reinforced plate on the elites.

He threw his DMR at full power at one of the UNSC's, hitting him in the head and knocking him out, probably snapping something also. He was quick to reach onto his sides, then heard all of them turn. He quickly used his evade to launch himself towards one, hearing gunfire smash around him.

"HOLD FIRE, We will kill ourselves!!" He heard a elite shout out. He grinned, leaping up, a magnum in both hands. He moved one to each side, and raised it, then started firing from both at each side. As he fired, he heard three screams, and when he heard them go dry, he noticed the elites rushing him. Four on one. So far, he had taken out four people, and a fifth knocked out, leaving him seven to deal with.

As the elites closed in, they all threw punches, with Sky ducking down, and putting his magnums into their holsters. He used his left hand to grab one of his knives, then quickly punched the leg of one, turning around and stabbing the knife through the leg of another. Both elites screamed, then he heard a deadly sound. The sound of two energy swords lighting up. He quickly leaped up, watching as the humans went back to supressing the ODST's. He looked back at the elites in time to see a swipe coming at him. He was quick, side stepping and catching his arm, but the force threw him into a wall. He grunted, the wall cracking from the impact. He opened his eyes, ducking within a second as a elite tried to stab him. He punched him in the gut, throwing the knife at one of the humans near him, getting it through his back, not killing him, but definitly wounding him by the fact he stopped shooting, falling down and trying to pull it out.

Sky didn't have time to grab another knife as the elite he punched grabbed him by the throat, picking him up. He quickly grabbed onto his arm, raising his legs and kicking him hard in the gut, then, with all his weight, pulled down, flipping the elite overhead and into the wall. Sky quickly delivered a power strike to the chest of the elite, punching straight through his armor. He heard two more energy swords powering up, and he heard one moving closer. He rolled off the elite, and saw a mark in the wall. He stood up, backstepping more or less into the wall to avoid a swipe. A elite laughed, walking up and raising his blade, going for a clean slice through him. Sky caught the arm, stepping forward. He punched the elite in the throat, grabbing his arm, quickly twisting it and pulling it behind his back, a energy sword cutting straight through the elite. As the elite died, dropping his sword, Sky caught it, activating it right as one had gone for a slash, the swords clashing. The impact sent Sky back a meter.

He dropped the blade, grunting as he hit the ground. He was getting thrashed. He leaped up, noticing he was right next to one of the humans. He looked at him, grabbed the back of his shirt, throwing him out the window, then kicked the head of the second, taking him out. Well, thats two more down.  The last human was on the ground. Sky was guessing that one of the pistol rounds had wounded him, meaning there was only the elites to kill now.

Sky raised both fists, ready for the last three elites to come for him. One of them was limping slightly, Sky guessing from the knife that he had stabbed him with. Another getting up, panting. He had a hole in his chest, bleeding slightly from the power punch. One of them was all good, except for a crack in his leg armor, from the punch. Sky sprinted in.

As he closed in, he turned, facing sideways and flipping, going straight into the middle of the group. He quickly grabbed the back of the good elites neck, pulling hard, not snapping it instantly, but he heard the sword deactivate as he grabbed the spartans arm to stop him. As he was pulling he kicked the leg of the one stabbed, the elite crying in pain as he dropped lower, his sword going out of his hand in pain. The one with the wounded chest went in for a stab, Sky quickly jumping, going over the slash, then when he pulled down, he snapped the elites neck he grabbed, throwing him onto the ground. He was in a crouching stance, and from here he tackled the elite, punching him again in the wounded chest, crying out in pain, Sky pulled out his other knife on his chest, stabbing it in the throat. After doing that, he cleaned the blade, putting it away. He walked over to the last elite, grabbing his head, and twisting it, taking it out. Sky quickly ran over to a body, grabbing a assault rifle in each hand.

"Its safe to engage, flank is covered, give'm hell" He said, starting to open fire on the other building, the gunfire slowing down as bullets started to hammer them. He was glad these were older models, the sixty bullet clips useful despite there weak power.

Then, he heard the radio call. He noticed that it was coming from a spartan. He wasn't aware that there was another spartan here, but he couldn't complain. He really hoped that they had good news. But, he almost died when he heard that nova was gone. That wasn't possible. He had noticed she was wreakless, but she was a good fighter...

"Copy, iv cleared a building flanking our position, sending coordinates to your hud. Were still at town square, and theres still a Lot of gunfire coming from one of the buildings, my men don't have the armor to survive that monster barrage, i barely made it here myself. Il do what i can, but i really need help clearing that building... Was it a peaceful death?"

[Dabom, can you confirm if Nova is dead? Scout did check, and chances are it would show on the HUD.]

They had to pause to pick off smaller units on their way to the centre. With the caution he practised and established with the troops, the Spartan he was transporting and the requirement to stop and eliminate stragglers, progress was actually a little slow, but it was his responsibility to keep this contingent alive. He hauled Nova in a fireman's carry, but could draw his sidearm almost instantly in the event a swift response was needed. The M6H's similarities to the M6D were appreciated.

He would have liked if the UNSC secured more Promethean vision modules, or if R&D could crack the technology. Probably had to go through Mission Conditional Requisition to find out. He could only rely on his motion sensor and keep an eye on the streets for sufficient warning.

They had a location, good, they wouldn't have to wander around. "That's where we've got to be... we'll rendezvous in that building." Spartan Sky seemed to be under a lot of stress. According to the Yerkes-Dodson Law, he would either approach the optimal level and perform better, or worse if it was too much. It was up to him to keep functioning, in any case. "No, she's alive but critically wounded. She went down fighting. I think she's unstable. She had a breakdown and charged into a group of Elites." Hopefully the MJOLNIR's automatic biofoam injectors could keep her alive. She'd be a lot worse off if the Remnant could scavenge and field with energy daggers like those in the old Covenant. When this was over they might investigate who had allowed her to operate despite the state of her mental health. That wasn't important now, though.

He headed to the waypoint, advancing on the cleared building. "There will be another Covenant platoon up ahead, and Insurrectionist forces. Stay alert, marines." If the immediate threat began to increase, he might have to find somewhere safe to temporarily leave the defunct Spartan so he could use his rifle. "You've got a building to clear, Sky? Are you familiar with Covenant weapons? I'd try checking the bodies for grenades."

The ODST's that Sky had left behind were still alive, althought for some of them, that was putting it lightly. Out of the 6 ODST's left alive, 3 of them were wounded to the point of non-combatant, while the other 3 had wounds that prevented them from being fully mobile. Their only saving grace was that the gunfire hitting them from the flank had slowed down, then stopped entirely. But the fire from the other side, what was coming from an apartment complex, kept their heads down. As much as they hated being useless in this fight, they preferred to be alive over dead.

The Marines and ODST's left over with Sky all saw it happen before their eyes. A Spartan, the best warriors humanity had to offer, going down. Some of the Marines snapped, abandoning the mission out of fear, others felt inspired by the braveness of the Spartan and it burnt the fire within them. Others, the ODST's, went silent for a moment, to offer up aa farewell to the warrior who'd died. The ODST's took the lead while the marines scattered behind them in the buildings. The few that were remaining, only down to 2 12 man squad of ODST's and 47 marines, clustered around, moving up slowly and engaging in long-drawn out gunfights, where for every enemy they killed, they lost one of their own to injury or death.

"All UNSC forces in the area this is high command. All UNSC forces, be aware we have reinforcement on their way. UNSC Cruisers are moving in with supplies alongwith Pelican troop drops, we are deploying all forces aboard the UNSC Katamo within 5 minutes. UNSC ground forces are advised to try create multiply drop points if possible"

When Sky heard the broadcast, he couldn't help but sigh. It seemed like this would all end soon. He continued to hit the building hard, pumping sixty bullet clips into it. After he ran out, he speed reloaded, then started firing again. He had ammo from his assault rifle, and ammo on the ground so he was well supplied. As he kept up the fire, he heard the spartan calling him, telling him about using covy weaponary. He was familiar with it, a little to familiar, but he was right. More importantly, he was told that she was alive. He couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief. He knew that she needed medical badly, but he didn't have anything on him, and by the sound of it, she needed more then the biofoam her suit would give.

"Yeah, the next building needs to be cleared for the ODST's to get out safely, but i can't cross that without getting pummeled by rounds. You wouldn't happen to have any balistic shield on you would you?" He asked the new spartan over the coms. He didn't have time to get names, they had to clear that building.

"You gonna help, or are you more or a long range supporter?"

Right at the call was made, a massive series of explosions rocked the town, and several of them hit near where Storm and Nova were. The Com lines for the marines in the town went haywire, with some begging for help, others screaming in agony and others completely paralized with confusion and fear.

"All UNSC units, this is General Hayward. We're commencing bombardment on the town! Our armoured divisions are headed into the Town Square! All UNSC forces are to create a path for our tanks!" The bombardments were made by the forces had caused the chaos, right as several Warthogs drove into the Square near Sky, guns blazing at the buildings, the marines leaping into cover and laying down suppressing fire. In the distance, the thundering roar of Tank shots and treads signal their incoming.

In the square, exiting from driving leap a UNSC Marine Sergeant, who raised a SPANKR Rocket Launcher, unaware that Sky was in the building, and fired 2 rockets right at the Spartan.

The ground shook, mud flew everywhere. Sky stopped shooting, looking from his vantage as stuff started exploding, then, he heard the coms going haywire, people panicking. He was a little worried, but then he heard General Hayward saying he was behind the bombing, which eased his nerve. Backup had arrived. Sky went back to shooting, smashing the building. He watched as warthogs rushed into the town square, putting suppression fire down on all the buildings, making him grin, but that grin was instatly gone when he saw the two rockets fired at him.

"Oh buck me" He grunts, quickly jumping out the window. As he jumped he quickly remembered that there was others inside, and he had no idea how close to the wall they were. He was quick, using the evade thrusters to boost himself towards the rockets, and using the boost, he kicked one of the rockets, making it spin off into the ground. He was relived, then he remembered the second.

Sky yelps in pain as the rocket hit the building behind him, and despite what he had done, he was just inside the blast range, the force sending him flying towards the ground. He quickly fired up the evade again, flipping and as he got close to the ground, digging his hands and feet in, skidding a metre before feeling bullets hitting the back of his shields. He quickly dived, dogging a volley.

"Stupid unsc rocket launcher with its stupid handler, doesn't he know to be careful when he bucking shoots that thing" Sky starts groaning, hating explosive weaponary. It really wasn't his thing, he rathered ballistics. He hated using explosive weapons such as rocket launchers almost as much as he hated having them fired at him. Almost.

He didn't have the time or heroic drive to give rousing speeches. So far, so good, about as good as could be expected at any rate. They made progress.

The low thunder of a classic MA5B sounded nearby. "No... no ballistic shield. Try it in War Games. Unreliable I figure, unless it's energy or hardlight." He was outside Sky's building now. "... I can do both. If you can flush them out I can pick them off. Or we could go and breach together." He was set for ammo.

Reinforcements? Those air strikes were a little too close to sound 'reinforcing'. He got on comms to command. "This is Spartan Scout. We are danger close. Severe risk of friendly fire. Advise watching our IFF coordinates, sir." Green means don't bomb it. Maybe a few Spartans and marines were acceptable losses when there was a ghost town to save.

There was a great deal more shooting out there now, so the general made good on his announcement at least. The burden of clearing out the ambush force no longer fell solely on their shoulders.

He heard another two explosions, even closer. They shook the building. He noted friendly signatures approaching on the radar. "A rocket launcher... what's your status Sky?” He broke open the back door and halted beside the doorway, his caution kicked in again. He couldn't take a wounded Spartan into that kind of fire. "Standby marines. Watch the alleys, cover each flank," he told the remaining troops with him.

Sky groaned, still pissed off about the rockets that had almost hit him. He didn't care of it was a accident, that sarge was going to get one hell of a lashing after this was all done with. He listened as Storm talked, though he missed it all until he just heard her asking his status. He was in cover, laying down behind some light rubble from the building which he had just jumped from. That hadn't been a nice landing either...

"I'm good... UNSC marines are in town square, one shot a rocket at the building, had to bail" He said, replying to him. He pushed himself off the ground, only to see the fire slowly dying. The fight was slowly turning in there favor.... for now.

"This is Delta 116, requesting medivac for wounded ODST's. Numbers unknown, we have a Spartan in critical condition. LZ is hot, but we need to get them out of here. Town square" He calls out for before pulling one of his magnums out of their holster, reloading it and running over to where the sarge was, crouching down behind the warthog, taking cover.

The sound of rushing water continued in the blackness that was Sol's mind. Her torn body was in a whirlwind of pain and neardeath. A faint crack of gunfire echoed in the void, a yell, more gunfire.

Sol floated in the dark. Peering around as more gunfire echoed in the dark.

"So you went and got yourself critically wounded again little sister?"

sol stiffened. "E~ ember?" She squeaked. Her brother walked out of the dark. He was a Odst in the unsc at the time. Though he was a higher rank due to his time in the military.

Being a twin of hers he looked exactly the same except male. He looked at her with a dissapointed look. "You don't deserve to be a spartan with the way you act. You think it's all a game that you can just play for fun."

sol winced. Her brother was rough but this was starting to creep into cruel. "Brother....."

"Shut it!! You failed baby sister!! Because you were reckless!! You deserve it!! And if you don't die you now have wounds that will make sure you take things seriously!! Remember father? Say goodbye to your voice sis! Say goodbye to being fully healthy with your other wounds you got now. Those are yours to carry. Maybe it's for the best." He growled before dissapearing.

"Brother?" She squeaked before her world came crashing down in a rush of energy.

Ahe gasped and came too. Her world roaring with gunfire, she was concious again. She squirmed with a jump as she fell out of the other spartan's grasp. Hitting the ground and giving a silent scream. That's when she noticed her voice was completely gone! The pain in her body and throat very prominent.

"Delta 116, this is command. We read you, however the LZ is too hot for an exfil of any kind. We need that square clear of all hostiles and the local buildings secured. Once this is confirmed, we can send in the medics and set up an FOB (Forward Operating Base). Command out Spartan"

For Storms message however, it was left completely unanswered by command. However the marines and ODST's around him hear the orders, moving into the alleyways, a few firing off surpressive fire to keep the area for the injured Spartan clear. They only had to exit one of them and they'd reach the exfil point, but the issue being the square, despite the reinforcements, was still under heavy fire by occupants in the surrounding buildings.

Staff-Sergent Cryie was having, without a doubt, the worst day in her caraer. She'd been forced awake to take a Phyc test because her surperiors were worried about her mental state, then she'd been deploted with the forward units, the units with the highest morality rate, and told to clear an opening. So far she'd estimated a dozen kills as she put her rocket launcher on the ground, grabbed her LMG and fired away at the buildings. It was only then she noticed a Spartan coming up to her. The white-haired green-eyed Sergeant smiled weakly at Sky, unaware she'd nearly killed him moment ago.

"Dammit...." He sighs, a little pissed that he couldn't get the wounded out of here faster, he just had to hope that they could hold on. He didn't reply, just making a mental note NOT to ever put people in situations where they would get smashed in, he hated feeling like he had set some marines on a path to die. He stared at the Sarge, watching as she put the rocket launcher on the ground. He was about to get a little pissed off when he heard more gunfire, remembering that this was not the time or place.

"Do you even know the words 'friendly fire" He said, deciding not to say much more then that about that dam rocket until after this sh1t show was over. Peaking his head over the cover only to have rounds smash right in front of him, hearing them wiz over his head. "I count around thirty plus, you able to provide me cover fire to get into the closest building" He asks, pulling out both of his magnums, reloading them. He didn't have anything else on him other then two spare clips, and two grenades. He needed to get those buildings cleared

Sky was fine. Scout felt a twitch of a smile. It wasn't every day you barely brushed over an untimely end by a UNSC warhead. With how close the bombers had struck, he could say he knew the feeling. "If they are firmly dug in, it may be best to... storm the building. I think first I'll hit the exposed ones shooting from the windows. All I need is a good angle and some cover. Would take some attention off of the approach, too." The windows or doorways were a good place to start, he assumed, going by the notion that most of the hostiles wouldn't just be standing around deeper within the building. Now, if only he didn't have to look after this great burnt lump.

The Spartan over his shoulder grew restless, not good, if she moved around too much it just might finish her off. Scout cursed as she comically hopped out of his grip and clattered to the paving. "I'm supposed to get you out of here you know. If you really wish to leave orbit in a bag, by all means wriggle your way through death's door. Or... you could relax." His typical caution was reaffirmed in the image of the critical Nova. She was not careful, and the fire consumed her too. Supernova.

Now, at last, he did something productive. The cleared building was confirmed to be relatively safe, then, if a little worse for wear, and with a word to the marines to follow and fire on the enemy from the house, he brought Nova inside and left her close, but out of the way. "Sit tight there and, uh, don't die. I'm going to do my thing." His thing, in this case, was a spot of sniping. Cover, vantage point sorted. He steadied his rifle, aiming at the enemy position, the red above those flashing muzzles, and placed his shots. Lightning. It couldn't be long, he imagined, until the windows were acknowledged as a dangerous place to put their heads.

Cryie frowned at the Spartans comment, not putting it together that she'd shot at him as she fired her LMG at the windows. The square itself was becoming safer, but there was still plenty of gunfire being thrown at them. The Tanks were still on their way, and her team had been reduced from 30 marines down to just 11. All of them were pinned down while she was stuck out in the courtyard! She heard his orders, to provide cover. She nodded her head, placing her LMG on the ground and moving to the back of the warthog.

"Tell me when sir, i'll use the Machine Gun on old Ruffy here to keep their heads down" she replied, a strong country accent in her voice "Even take my rifle, you clear that buildin', I won't be needing it" she said, pulling out her own pistol and firing a few shots waiting for the sign to go. She looked around. She hated the order, get on a machine gun in an open court-yard and pray she didn't get hit, but the Spartan needed that building clear for the evac birds to come in.

One team of ODST's from Storm group, ones who had acted first when the ambush had occurred, organised the marines while the Spartan took care of their own. The surviving marines were in position to slip into the main hold-out building and flush out the rebels firing into the court-yard, simply awaiting their orders from Storm to move in.

"Delta 116, this is Overwatch. We've lost visual contact with the landing sight from the ship. Confirm it is clear for the Pelicans to begin their flight over?" Asked the calm voice over the radio into Sky's ear.

Sky noticed her moving towards the gun, and he was pretty quick to shiver. She was willing, to get, on THAT GUN, in the middle of this fight? He was pretty impressed with her bravery, though he wasn't going to let her do it. When he said cover him, he meant with her SAW. He picked the gun up, peaking his head over. There was a lot of gunfire, he would have to risk it. Wasn't like he hadn't done crazier stuff before.

"Your not getting on that gun, look around you, your men are dropping fast. But, the gun gives me a idea" He replies, putting the LMG on his back. Looking at the warthogs machine gun, he couldn't believe he was actually going to try and use it to do this, but he didn't have much choice. He needed to pin them down at least a little, and he WASN'T risking more lives then he had to, she got up there, he knew she would die.

He then heard Overwatch calling him, making him curse. The square was messed up, it wasn't ready yet, though the thought of pelicans gave him a slight idea, he knew it was a long shot.

"Negative, square is NOT clear, but is getting hit hard. Reinforcements are taking casualties. I need smoke coverage to deal with the buildings and to allow the rest of the marines to get into better cover then the warthogs at town square. Is that possible?"

"This is Overwatch. Pelican drop ships are on their way, they'll provide support. Smoke bombs are equipped to them. We're receiving a distress call from a Spartan IFF signature, Sol Nova. Can you confirm the state of the Spartan over?"

After nearly a minute, they finally arrived. A dozen Pelicans flew over the town, raining down a barrage of gunfire on anyone who wasn't in cover or wearing a UNSC IFF tag. After the initial attack, several pelicans swamped over the Square, miniguns blazing into the building as smoke was deployed to cover the square, giving Delta 116 all the cover to approach the building.
