I think this would be interesting to join. I have a few superhero characters that I have been designing for a while. Might as well start with this one.

Superhero/Supervillain Name: Titanium

Powers: Titanium does not have much in the way of powers; Her magic is sub-par (though she is able to assemble/disassemble technology fairly easily and quickly), and while she does have above-average physical strength for a unicorn, she can still be outmatched by an Earth Pony. However, her real power is her intellect. This she has used to craft the Titanium Battle Suit Mark III.
The Battle Suit is very bulky, but is surprisingly fast for its weight. This is because the armor increases her strength to the point where she can run up to 60 MPH within the armor that weighs several tons. She can use gravity-based magic gems to make the suit lighter, to allow her to fight in buildings without wrecking them, however this also decreases her strength.
Her main method of attack is through twin concussion cannons. They look a bit like miniguns due to the many small barrels, and are capable of rapid fire. However, all the barrels can fire at once for a blast powerful enough to punch through metal.
Her hooves can cling onto walls, though she has to reduce her weight dramatically to do so. The power drain leaves her unable to use her cannons.
The lens themselves have a combination of tech and enchantments, giving her night vision, echolocation, and thermal imaging. The helmet masks her voice as to prevent ponies from identifying her.
The armor is designed to soak damage without failing. She could be on the bottom floor of a skyscraper and have the whole building collapse on top of her, and she would get out unscathed.

Alias: Wrench Works is the owner of a multimillion industry that produces most of the materials used by other companies. Her company offers more benefits and higher wages than other manufacturing businesses, leading to more ponies working for her, leading to her buying out those businesses. She has also bought out several seats in the government, halting any investigations towards her monopoly.
The only pony who knows her true identity is her twin sister Spanner Works.

Backstory: Wrench Works had considered herself superior to her peers from an early young age. She used her intellect to get ahead of everypony else, and after taking several masters degrees in fields such as engineering and politics, she began working for her father's company, Whatever Works industries. She quickly got promoted to CEO, and renamed the company to Wrench Industries. Her tactics caused the company to grow immensely.
However, this was all just a part of her plan. Wrench Works is very dissatisfied with the world, viewing it as wasteful and inefficient. One notable aspect is a perceived lack of governmental security. She brought her sister into the company for research and development, and together created the first Titanium armor. She created it to be mass produced to create her own anti-super security force, but found that the suit was simply too bulky, complex, expensive, and underpowered to serve the desired function. She decided to refine the design twice until she got what she has now. She is currently working on a far cheaper version in order to create that security team, but until then she works on her own, testing it out through fighting crime... And those opposed to her interests.

Appearance: Her fur is the color of rust, her mane black and often unkempt. Her cutie mark is a gear with a monkey wrench superimposed over it diagonally. She also has a golden-harvest left eye, and her right eye is similar in design to a camera, complete with shutter for blinking. Old burn scars cover the right side of her face, though her regrown fur makes it less noticeable. Her right foreleg is entirely mechanical, and whirrs when she walks.
The Titanium armor is bulky. The design is rather boxy, with glowing red eyes. The cannons can retract into the armor. The metal is fairly dull and unpolished.

Notable Allies:

Notable Personal Villains:

General Notability:
A lot of heroes are unsure what to make of Titanium. She does fight crime, and has a policy not to kill (a promise to her sister), though she is sometimes involved in fights with super-villains that just so happen to wreck the factories and construction projects of Wrench Industries' competitors. Nothing has been proven, however.
Nopony gets along with her or her superhero persona, due to having a very cold mechanical viewpoint on the world, and other ponies.

Oooh Tech heroes are always neat! I can't wait to see this one in action :) Approved!

Just so everyone knows, The Thread I'm working on for the Opening of this semester of the Sunlight Academy is gonna be a bit late. The good news is; The grand galloping Gala is on tomorrow! Seeing as I'm going to have to keep my eyes on it for staff duties please be patient for the Academy to open, this however doesn't mean you can't start up your own threads as soon as you like!  So you know though, for the content of this universe thing Marvel cinematic universe or The Justice league unlimited or for a more recent comparison Young Justice. SO bleeding and things like that are okay but no decapitations or graphic detail of the severing of limbs or things like that...  basically keep it Pg-13!

Once the Sunlight academy officially opens I'll post the thread, until then you can go ahead and do as you like :)

This reminds me so much of City of Heroes. It was one of my most favorite games of all time. So, naturally, I have to throw a character in here!

Supervillain Name:

The Wolf Spider

Birth Name: Bruschi Bonetrotter (Dog)

Weapon Designation: X-107

Powers:

All of The Wolf Spider's abilities are either biologically or cybernetically enhanced.

Since Diamond Dogs don't share the same 'super' properties that ponies do, his creators had to improvise. His abilities are his super strength, muscles enhanced with specialized drugs to stimulate growth and rapid repair that allows him to push his body to supernatural limits. In addition, his sight and hearing has been enhanced with neurologically implanted amplifiers, making him a far more efficient hunter. Along with enhanced stamina and an artificial healing factor, it takes a lot to put him down and keep him down.

The most glaring of his cybernetic modifications is the 'spider pack' on his back. Attached directly to his spine and wired to integrate into his nervous system, he can control the four robotic spider legs, as well as their armaments, as if there were a part of his organic body. These legs allow him to scale buildings, hack, slash, and stab at his enemies with their sharp edges, and have built-in armaments that allow him crowd-control capabilities. Depending on a manually selected firing mode, the legs can be designated to fire an automatic barrage of magic bolts at 900 bolts per minute (3,600 bolts per minute should all legs be designated to this armament). They are also equipped to fire stun grenades (with magical neutralizers), smoke canisters, and specialized 'web shot' that can constrict an opponent and slow their movement. The spider pack gets it's power from a magical power pack of an unknown engineering origin, which attaches to the underside of the spider pack, giving it the appearance of a spider's abdomen. It can power all of the pack's weaponry, as well as the movement of the legs in general, for several weeks, if not months, and is perpetually charging. It is believed that the time The Wolf Spider disappears is time he takes to recharge before attacking again.

Over his eyes, The Wolf Spider wears a special visor that allows him to track movement, identify targets, and scan his environment, able to detect magic signals at a variety of frequencies and intensities. This visor has four glowing red lenses, which give him another feature to add to his 'spider-like' appearance.

Alias: He is unable to integrate into civilian life, and must hide in the shadows between directed functions.

Backstory:

Bruschi Bonetrotter was, actually a happy subject of Equestrian-controlled Diamond Dog territory. Rather than resent the ponies who taxed their land, he realized that these super-powered allies were a great boon to his people. They prospered, and lived happy and secure under the watchful eye of Sunlight Sentinel. In his youth, he grew out of the aggressive and greedy tendencies he had as a bigger dog, and instead was raised to believe he could use his stature for good. Bruschi, while bigger than most Diamond Dogs, grew up to have a 'gentle giant' reputation among his tribe. He would help his elders with manual labor, laugh as pups climbed on him, and was always there to lend an ear when someone in the tribe had a problem. He was such a popular figure among the tribe, that when a group of scientists from Equestria, claiming to be with the Equestrian Scientific Corps, were looking for candidates to make non-pony supernatural beings, Bruschi was first to be nominated by everyone in the tribe. He was to be afforded a tremendous opportunity to do real good in the world, and make his tribe proud!

Saying his farewells, he went with the scientists to an undisclosed location to the Northwest of Equestria proper. There, his transformation began. But it wasn't at all like he expected. First, they injected him with many different experimental serums. Some made his blood boil to the point where he was steaming, crying in agony. Others made him so cold he could barely move. Some made in paranoid, angry, depressed. Some also made him stronger. Faster. Tougher. Once the positive reactions were weeded out, his 'sensitivity training' began. Day by day, he was systematically tortured, drugged, and experimented upon, both mentally and physically, all the while begging to go home, to be returned to his family and people. But his pleas fell on deaf ears, his treatment persisting until he could no longer feel pain, and could no longer register emotion. Nothing shocked him, nothing scared him, nothing angered him. His identity was stripped away, beaten and punished if he ever referred to himself as 'Bruschi'.

"You are X-107."

They constantly reminded him, until there was no Bruschi Bonetrotter. He was weapon designation X-107, experimental group 'Protocol Echo'.

By now, they had him at the very limit of natural strength and endurance. Indeed, he was the very picture of fitness, with a cold, unfeeling heart to match. But he was far from done.It was at this point the true work began.

"Remain calm, 107. We will now begin Phase 2. You will be augmented with several cybernetic devices that will make you unmatched in this world of "Superheroes". We are obligated to warn you that only approximately 15.7% of all subjects survive their augmentation. We're also obligated to inform you that you have no choice."

X-107 underwent several surgeries, in which a large, mechanical spider pack was infused directly to his spine, and a specialized control visor attached to his face, giving him the appearance he now has today. Once he awoke, the scientists seemed pleased that the procedure was a success, but further testing was still required. It was another couple of years of weapons and equipment training, getting his brain used to controlling more than 4 limbs. He practiced with each and every weapon set, undertaking months upon months of martial training until the spider pack may as well of been a part of him all his life. He was able to integrate the razor-sharp legs and their built-in weapon systems with deadly proficiency, and the visor assisted him with complex battle algorithms, feeding him tactical advice depending on the signatures around him.

He was ready. His training was complete. But they did not make him a superhero.

They made him a super slave.

X-107 was immediately sold to an unknown entity only known as 'The Mastermind', fit with a black and red uniform, and air dropped into a remote area of Equestria. His reign of terror in the name of this enigmatic 'Mastermind' has made him the stuff of nightmares, having hunted down several heroes and innocents since he first appeared. This poor, repressed soul knows nothing but the hunt, and strikes his prey swiftly and without mercy.

Notable Allies: (Up for anyone to claim to be his Mastermind, or any villains wanting to be on his side!)

Notable Personal Rivals:

(Also open for suggestions!)

General Notability:

The Wolf Spider is a killer, plain and simple. He hides in the shadows, always stalking his mark, and strikes with a supernatural coordination of body and machine. Very few can stop him, and even fewer dare to speak his name. The newspapers refer to him as just 'The Spider', just further stripping the identity of the Diamond Dog within the monster. He is hated by many, feared by more, but his notoriety is not important to him.

All he knows is to serve and defend the Mastermind at all costs.

Superhero Name: GoldStar

"Rest easy, citizens! I'm here!"

Summary:  GoldStar, going by the regular name of [redacted], is a visitor from the far away future, who came back to the past to do good. At least, that's the official version. In reality, he was kind of a screwup in his time, and so he forged a plan to use his knowledge of the past in combination with advanced, futuristic gear to travel back in time and make a name for himself. Now he's stuck in the past and just has to make the best of it!

Powers: GoldStar in an earth pony with no superpony abilities, but is has the physical prowess of a regular professional athelete. However, he brought a wide array of gadgets and gear from the future to live the life of a superhero. Among them are the following:

  • Flight bracelets: Standard issue flight bracelets are nothing special in the future, they are a dime a dozen. Though he can't rival the maneuverability of a pegasus, he is quite used to using them by now.
  • Power Suit: A full-body suit of what looks like spandex in gold and black, with a golden star symbol on the chest and his flanks. Wearing the suit amplifies his strength, and it also serves as the power source for all his other equipment.
  • Gauntlets: Mounted to each of his feet are golden gauntlets, powerful weapons that can shoot laser blasts.
  • Scanning Visor: His visor displays a wide array of information in demand, and comes with all kinds of functions. Among them things like heat vision, infrared vision, x-ray vision and much, much more.
  • Skeets: Last but not least, GoldStar brought his own, personal robotic sidekick, and highly sophisticated AI in the shell of a security robot. Skeets looks like a almost featureless, golden floating egg with a black screen on the front, but is actually covered in little hatches which hide its many tools and weapons. It contains a vast knowledge of the past and assists GoldStar in his quest to become a successful hero with it, and is also fully capable of keeping his gear in good shape.

Backstory: There once was a young stallion named [redacted], who had dreamed his whole foalhood of becoming a superhero. In an era of professional superheros, it seemed like a dream worth striving for, but the sad reality was that no matter how hard he worked to shape his body, he was just outshone by the actual heroes. He couldn't do the amazing feeds of strength they showed, or mimic their heroics, and he was not smart enough to build equipment to become the hero he wanted to be. He fell short of his own ambitions, and landed low. After many years of trying, he finally took a regular job, working as a janitor at the Hall of Heroes, a superhero museum showcasing the brave and the bold of days past, and one of the biggest archives of past superhero's equipment in existence.

That was 2000 years into the future, and it's where [redacted] forged the plan to change his own personal future. He befriended a security robot named Skeets. Though the AI took its job quite seriously it was clear that it was a bit of a irregular one, showing signs of a free will and a hunger for adventure, in its own way. A rebellious streak if you will. It gave [redacted] an idea, a daring plan, to fulfill his dream. Skeet's help made it easy to achieve his goal. One of the exhibits that had been just brought in was a device by a time traveling supervillian, one that would allow him to travel far back in time. Once he was in the past, he thought, he could easily make a name for himself as a hero, since he had a very extensive archive of historic events at his hooftips. Now all he needed was the powers of a superhero.

There is no nice way of putting it, he pulled a heist on the museum he was working at. Skeets on guard duty left him through unhindered, and he stole the pieces of his equipment. All the things he needed. Super strength, flight, energy blasts... and a trusty sidekick of course! Once he had it all together he used the time machine to travel back, 2000 years in the past, with Skeets in tow, off to new, hopefully greener pastures.

One in the past, he soon learned that he had taken a one way trip. The time machine was useless now, and he didn't know how to power it. But that was all the same to him, he didn't want to go back anyway. He decided to waste no time and get to work. His first heroic deed was stopping a dam from bursting. Truly a classic! Knowing when it was going to happen allowed him to be there long before anyone else could come for help, and he had planned out how to fix the problem, too. From one moment to the next, he was the cheered hero he always wanted to be, and it went a little to his head. After explaining that he was a traveler from the future, it was easy to find places to stay as the list of his heroics grew. Unlike many heroes who seemed to prefer to live a private life of secrecy, he reveled in the attention, getting courted by powerful, rich ponies who hoped to look good next to him, and who were undoubtedly hoping to glimpse his knowledge of their time, but to no avail. He wasn't shy to take their money, though. He had to eat, too, after all.

He had finally made it.

Notable allies: His friend and confidant, Skeets.

Notable Personal Villains: GoldStar sometimes fears that the Time Police might do him in one day, though he doesn't actually know such an organization exists.

General Notability: GoldStar has generally a good reputation among the citizens of Equestria, since whenever he handles a crisis, he not only seems completely on top of it, but also does everything he can to make himself look good.

Among other heroes he has a certain notoriety, since making himself look good often comes at the cost of making his colleagues look back.

Superhero/Supervillain Name:

King Umbrum

Powers:

Dark Magic Master:   Sombra is the very antithesis of the Sun Sentinel and can command the power of Dark Magic.  His mastery over such a power is virtually limitless,  giving him quite the arsenal of spells that he can cast with minimal effort.   However without the Alicorn Amulet,  or the Cursed Horn his ability to use such spells would diminish significantly.  Positive Emotions and Positive Magic would weaken his dark magic abilities.  Furthermore,  it's impossible for him to cast certain spells during the day,  such as ones that could summon armies for him, or stuff like that. His very presence causes people to feel terror and he's also capable of creating constructs out of darkness,  and dark magic.

 Gear:

-  The Cursed Horn of Calibast:   The Cursed Horn of Calibast is a Magi-tech relic that can be used as a horn replacement. This replaced his regular horn. It massively boosts the magic he's capable of shooting out,  but has a side-effect.  It makes him more and more evil the more he uses it.

- The Alicorn Amulet:  The Alicorn Amulet amplifies the negative emotions of the individual,  but also massively boosts their power level to where even an Alicorn would have a hard time fighting them.  This has been implanted near his heart.

- Extended Lifespan:  As long as he can be cloned,  and regenerated he'll have a very long lifespan.

Alias:Silas Sombra - Wealthy Pony, and CEO of Eclipse Incorporated.

Backstory:

A company known as "Crystal Empire Limited" wanted to create what to them was going to be the perfect Unicorn, one who possessed few of the limits that regular Unicorns had. Most of the regular ones could barely even do telekinesis spells properly or participate in magical duels. This irritated the higher ups of the company. Motivated to create what amounted to a 'Super Unicorn' they decided that they would engineer one. So DNA samples from all sorts of Unicorns were taken, but none panned out. Eventually they found the remains of a War Lord named Umbrum The War Lord had attempted to battle against the Sun Sentinel and the Moonlit Knight in the past. Of all the Unicorns he was the only one who could actually pose a challenge to them given his mastery over dark magic.

Using the DNA samples and DNA from several above average Unicorns they were able to revive him. When he was revived, he forced them to retrieve the Alicorn Amulet with a mind control spell. Once it was brought to him, he modified it some and then fused it inside his body. With the amulet inside him, he decided to train himself and prepare an army of ponies who could be his loyal minions. To do that, he took control over Crystal Empire Limited. Using their resources he created a fake identity as "Silas Sombra" for himself. However one of the scientists attacked him when he was asleep and sawed off his horn, removing it from his body and breaking it. Not one to let a minor set back like that hassle him, Sombra threatened some of the other scientists into making a Horn for him. Using what little magic he could, he infused the prototype horn with dark magic, and his new horn was made. Since he has gotten his horn, he has done nothing but train with his dark magic, and hire a publicist so that he can make a backup scheme, to appear to be a goody goody in his civilian identity. Due to lacking his full power presently, he's working on regaining his power.

Notable Allies: N/A

Notable Personal Enemies:

- Sun Sentinel

- Moonlit Knight

General Notability:

Lord Umbrum is a horror story and nightmare to every hero.

First and foremost, Take a step back and think about this. Aren't all the powers and abilities you've given him a bit much? All these artifacts combined with all the power at his disposal, is there a way he could conceivably be beaten... if you're play a villain or a hero you need make it possible for them to lose otherwise the story or battle their in has no weight to it.  Why does he need immeasurable magical power in addition to several powerful artifacts, the alicorn amulet might be okay but the eyes, the mechalimb and the heart too? why couldn't those themselves be his powers or special abilities? Does he really need a yellow lantern ring? I mean it's possible the various corps could be nodded to in future threads but this isn't a straight up crossover universe its supposed to have some original things in it. It's okay to have a powerful character but you need ot balance them out, for instance. Sunlight Sentinel is at her strongest in the sunlight but she's learned how to finitely keep a charge of solar energy in the night time so she  can be beaten by toughter heroes if they forced her to expend that power. AT that point she is basically just a tall pony and with wings and a horn with above average magic...

Okay, in regards to to the losing their magic thing, that kinda falls under the production of lore that effects everyone. Besides the govt of Equestria was supposed to have commisioned a group of skilled mages and all the immense advancements in casting and magical methods should have made the raisin g of it and the moon easier to do... And in the show there was no mention of the unicorns in the history of equestria when they were doing the raising  ever had such an issue. As for the genetic engineering I suppose that could work to a point. There has to be a limit to the amount of power he can expend if there is any realistic chance of him being defeated and if his body has no limiter as to what is channeling all that extra power how could he really be alive without something else to channel that and how would he have been beaten in the past? In addition to all these abilities, why and how was he able to make such a huge coperation after all that has happened to him? with all the implants and magic and things I cant imagine him looking very normal and with all the damage done to his mind how could he manage to run it effectively or avoid the notice of either the sentinel or the knight?

You also seem to imply he did this all in the course of a short time as a baby, how does that work? one of the last criticism I'll have to add is that... well this is pretty dark for an origin story in this universe. I had said before in this thread that things are to be kept pg and playful, content wise think young justice, Justice league (unlimited) and the modern marvel cinematic universe. IPlease keep that in mind, alright?

I do hoever liek the idea of a villain working to empower other villains while hiding behind a company doing shady deals and stuff though. :)

Alias/Name:  Prince Blueblood, a.k.a *ROYAL PLATINUM!*  (An alias that would fool exactly no one, if not for certain other details...)

Powers:

Money -  Wods of wonga; enough to make the world go 'round twice with enough filthy lucre left over to swim in.  His inherited fortune has benefited immensely from generations of compounded interest.  This was the only real 'power' he was born with (unless you count stunning good looks), but he has since used it to acquire a few useful things to at least stand some kind of chance against the more powered individuals of Equestria, such as...

Henchponies - Money can buy loyalty, along with a battalion of battle-maids.  You would not believe what some of them can do with a feather duster...

Relics - The true source of Royal Platinum's 'powers,' the Prince will attempt to get his hooves on just about any of them he can, by either theft, exploration, or purchase.  Whether or not he can make use of them is secondary, and has often led to a few embarrassing situations and hasty retreats...

Only a few see regular use therefore, and are listed below.

- The Garnet of Glamour: This gem allows its wearer to become the most attractive mare in sight, captivating the glances of all ponies, and infusing every action with an amazing panache that tends to slightly sap the will to resist the wearer's requests.  The fact that Prince Blueblood is a stallion does nothing to hinder it's effectiveness...

- The Star of the Sea: Actually a small golden compass, set into a pendant.  This grants the user certain powers over water, able to affect it's salinity, and the choppiness of nearby waves on a surrounding surface.  This sounds unimpressive, until you hear the plumbing start to rumble...

Backstory:  As mentioned above, Prince Blueblood was born without any powers.  And, indeed, without any real power at all.  While his royal lineage would have in earlier times practically guaranteed his seat as the Unicorn representative in the national government of Equestria, time and progress had marginalized his family, politically at least.  While those with money like his could always be sure of some influence in affairs, it all felt strangely... hollow, to the Prince.  A life tied to the social calendar, trying to manipulate the world indirectly over wine or coffee, all filled with a kind of quiet desperation.

Matters became worse after his parents went missing in an airship accident.  With no more living relatives, the only thing he had that was even close to family was Princess Celestia, a.k.a. Sunlight Sentinel, a.k.a. The Mare Who Had No Time For Anypony Not a Criminal or Student In Her School.  Yes, in a case of history repeating itself, Prince Blueblood felt jealous, not so much for the adoration of the populace poured on his 'auntie,' but all the attention spent on them in return, with nary a drop left in it for him...

He never let it show, but it rankled under his impassive, handsome visage until, finally he hit upon it.  The Idea.  He needed powers, but was born with none.  But perhaps, surely, with his fast fortune, he could afford some?  So, he hit the black markets, looking for a suitable relic.  Rumors reached him of one that seemed to fit perfectly with his natural skillset: A Gem which vastly increased one's attractiveness, style, and persuasiveness towards all ponies.  After a furious few months, he tracked down the Garnet of Glamour, and with welling excitement, put it on.

And by golly, it worked!  Instantly, Prince Blueblood transformed into easily the most attractive mare Equestria had ever seen.

Apparently, his Royal Highness had failed to read the fine print.

Fortunately, the transformation could be reversed by simply taking off the gem.  This also suggested in and of itself the perfect means of securing his secret identity.  After all, who could possibly expect the paragon of masculine handsomeness and the epitome of feminine charm were truly one and the same pony?

And thus began the Career of Royal Platinum, searcher and user of magical relics, stager of impressive head-line grabbing schemes... and neglected niece/nephew.

Notable Allies:  Discounting his/her henchponies, (Deus Ex) Machina

Notable Enemies/Rivals:

-In a way, Sunlight Sentinel.  The Prince's new career of public villainy is really an attention-grabbing venture, but Royal Platinum's schemes are rarely of the competence, and almost never of the scale that would warrant the alicorn's attention....

-On a more even level, Pathfinder.  The two mares often find themselves competing to lay their hooves on the same relics... though, coincidentally, Prince Blueblood is often seen as the sponsor for Pathfinder's expeditions...

General Notability:  By her very nature, Royal Platinum is much talked about.  After all, if you saw a mare as gorgeous as her, you'd never shut up about her!  Of course, her looks are considerably more noteworthy than her deeds up to this point....

Name: Pursuer

Alias: Eureka, a minotaur scientist

Powers: Beyond being unusually intelligent, both in terms of understanding of physical and magical theory and in terms of a more animal cunning, Eureka has no special abilities.  She does have a lifetime of experience to draw on, but her primary tool in combat is the suit of power armour she always wears when out in the field.  In addition to providing protection through both plating and a serious of small shield generators covering selective parts of the suit, it also has a number of micro-thrusters which though too small to manage flight, can add speed and distance to a leap or force to a melee attack.  The armour can also help her lift objects and hold them steady, which she uses to wield the various heavy weapons she uses in combat.

Her weapon of choice for the moment is rainbow cannon: after observing a number of heroes in action, Eureka attempted to replicate their abilities through devices.  She failed, but in the process discovered a flashy but horrifyingly effective means of 'energy delivery'.  The resulting weapon she made is said to be able to puncture dragon hide, although the rumours are unsubstantiated.  The weapon is bulky enough that Pursuer needs her power armour to wield it and retain any mobility.

Finally, after joining up with the REA Pursuer was given access to an airship and crew, the former of which she has commissioned a number of changes to and even made a few modifications herself.  The Aozora Nine is primarily a reconnaissance craft, equipped with a number of stealth and sensor systems.  After transporting Pursuer to a combat area its typical action is to hover silent and invisible in the sky and feed sensor data into Pursuer's helmet, although it is armed and can be pressed into combat if the situation is sufficiently dire.

Backstory: Eureka came from a long line of hunters, which traces back to a time when food was acquired with a spear in the wild rather than money at a supermarket.  The need is no longer present, but for a particular group minotaurs the pride and tradition remain.  Eureka was one such individual and while she initially chose a very different career path, one of scientific research, that tradition was very much a part of her life.  She always made time between her studies to head off to the wilderness in pursuit of prey.

However, she eventually encountered a problem: as she grew older, and carried on the tradition, she naturally improved.  Her ancestral quarry did not however.  Eureka began to grow bored, and she faced a dilemma.  Losing interest meant that she would either cease her practice altogether, or at best continue with no passion.  Either would be a disservice to her bloodline.

While pondering this dilemma, Eureka came to another discovery.  A research firm she'd been contracted by it turned out was being funded and used by a villainous organization, and Eureka only discovered this when a few heroes came kicking in the front door.  Her colleagues either fled or surrendered immediately, but not the minotaur.  She was resolute, and using jerry-rigged prototype she managed to just barely fend off the attacks by one of the heroes, the rest having been occupied elsewhere.  Though battered, she found herself exhilarated.  This, this was the excitement she'd been looking for!

Now she had a new sort of prey in her sights.  Suddenly more motivated than she'd ever been, Eureka scavenged equipment from the ruined laboratory, which she used as a the basis for her first battle suit and weapon.  And then the hunt was on!  Eureka spent a good deal of time 'tracking' a number of super beings, she quickly found both sides to be equally impressive prey and began hunting both, finding what information she could through various means and creating plans to bring them down.  As was typical her prey usually found a way to escape if not gain the upper hand, but she did bring down a few individuals of note, and what's more her exhilaration at finding such worthy adversaries far outwieghed any disappointment in her own showing.  And with lab work no longer a viable option, Eureka took the the name Pursuer and sold her services as a bounty hunter and more rarely a mercenary to maintain a livelihood and fund her ongoing hunt.

Over time however, Eureka began to see the risks of making an enemy of heroes, finding her status as a villain to be bothersome for a number of reasons, even if she was listed as merely a minor one.  It became more and more tricky to do simple things, such as hold conversations or purchase mundane goods.  And what's more, to her own surprise she found herself more and more reluctant to pursue heroes, having repeatedly witnessed their dedication and strength of character through her own thorough observations.

Eureka knew that something had to break eventually, and decided to preemptively resolve the issue.  She made made an offer to the REA: she would provide her skills as an engineer to them, subject herself to their oversight, and would limit her hunting to those that would threaten Equestria.  In exchange, she would receive a legal pardon for past actions, and access to their supply lines.  The REA excepted.  And while other heroes of the time were wary, Pursuer had a reputation for generally avoiding civilian harm and collateral damage, and thus other then a few possible grudges this was seen as a practical way to remove the threat of the huntress.  As an irregular in the REA, she was eventually given the ship and crew that she currently employs as support.

Notable allies: [Information classified]

Notable adversaries: [Information classified]

General notability: The public has a very limited awareness of Pursuer's existence.  Her attacks were often focused on super beings who were momentarily isolated, and her actions were generally obscured by the presence of other super beings necessarily in the area.  Any signs of her own particular methods or involvement were usually misidentified as arising from another individual.  What sightings exist are often interpreted to be some nameless lieutenant in either the REA or some villainous organization.

A number of heroes and villains, have heard stories of a power armoured soldier who appears without warning wielding a giant weapon which detonates whatever it hits, only to disappear just as quickly once the situation is resolved.  Those heroes who actually know of her or remember her history tend to be wary, not so much of her skill as of her specialty: she has extensive experience observing and hunting heroes, and she is one of the first called to fight a hero gone rogue.

As usual, I'm open to people adding allies or adversaries for her.

Super Hero/ Super Villain Name:  “Machina” And under certain circumstances “Deus ex Machina”

Alias: Java

Powers:

Machina does not have any sort of supernatural power, or at least one that he does not know of yet. Instead he employs the use of his wits, technology, and general earth pony advantages to make short work of the upcoming adversities.

Mechanized prosthetic legs: His primary set of gadgets, Machina’s bread and butter,  and the core of Java’s Machina persona. All four of his mechanical legs share similar functions. Each one equipped with a suitable version of a stun lance, a chargeable concussion canon, and talons.

Gadgets: Even hero’s with mechanical legs need some sort of back up plan. And Machina is quite capable of manufacturing them for the occasion or for other heroes.

Drones: Flying automated robots. Usually mimicking some sort of creature. When Machina is out in the field, he usually brings only three with him. These usually aid him in the supportive role that he often prefers to take. Often by creating barriers, acting as surveillance, medical protocols… etc etc.

Cyber suit: A powered body suit that acts as both the pony’s armor and his costume. The cyber suit only covers the barrel of the stallion’s body and his head, leaving the mechanized limps completely exposed. The suit features a helmet with integrated software, and a single thruster jetpack on the stallion’s back. Lining the back of the suit are also closed ports to allow him to interface correctly with his power armor.

The helmet’s software includes an AI assistant named AIDA, and a multi-functioned visor equipped with a targeting UI, and several information based protocols such as scanning, analytical enviorment lab, and database inquiries.

Project Deus: Project Deus is a modular power armor that Machina had developed with the all intents and purposes of creating an incredibly destructive force to be reckon with. His reasoning was to provide a fall back plan in the case of a dire emergency. Standing at twice the size of a pony, the armor does have a few flaws behind it, namely that once activated it begins to quickly degrade and fall apart as long as it’s active. The suit also has a safety mechanic that locks some of its functions away until certain conditions are met. The stallion quite literally can never find a reason to justify using it, so it just collects dust in the academy’s hangar.

Backstory: There was a stallion who never thought he’d get involved with the super hero crowd. He was more interested in keeping to himself and competing with his cousin’s lab through feats of engineering. The two cousins always tried to one up each other. But there was always a few rules to their battles of the brain. The most important one was that these creations must solve a problem. And the last creation made by Java would lead to the start of Machina.

After watching ponies of amazing feats and powers constantly save civilians, destroy cities, cause havoc. Or restore the order, something did dawn upon the pony. What would happen when an incredibly powerful hero goes rogue? Or mighty villains cropped up, but nothing could stop them? The simple solution was to create something that could be used in such emergencies that it’d keep them in check. And thus Project [Redacted] was created.

The device was created with pure power in mind. Very few limiters were added to it, and no expense was spared in it’s creation. But when it came to testing, the device performed beautifully… but was in capable of correctly shielding it’s power, thus irreparably damaging it’s pilot, Java, and destroyed his legs.

His cousin was the one that created a new set of legs for Java. And even though his exploits had backfired on him, it never quite damaged his optimism. Instead of being dismayed at the addition of prosthetics and some implants to his body, he just saw it as a new chapter and took on the persona of Machina. After making some quick modifications, he joined the Academy as a contributor. Doing so by using his position as a head engineer of Eclipse Aerospace Laboratories to craft and donate equipment for use by the students and officials.

Apperance: Earthy brown fur, and a darker brown hair to boot. The stallion really doesn’t have much speaking for him about his natural color pallet. His metallic limbs are a shade of a cool bluish gray with a stone like finish. The limbs affix themselves to the sockets of the original limbs and have small plates that climb up and over the shoulder plates and hips and end at the spine.

His Cyber Suit, which has the same cool blue-gray finish looks nearly mechanical in design while flushly fitting to the pony’s body. The fabric ends just under his jaw line, and runs down the barrel of his body to his flanks. But does not cover up his legs. Metal plates were attached to the suit, and were carefully milled in a functional design. Both to allow for ease of movement while providing ample protection, and to allow for small emitters to poke out of the armoring.

The back piece is a single flush chassy of metal that only goes a few inches past his shoulder blades, and holds a single thruster.

His helmet covers the majority of his head, but leaves his lower jaw uncovered. His eyes are shielded by a blueish-green visor.

Notable Allies:

Royal Platinum : It’s hard to explain the relationship between these two. Friendship wouldn’t probably be the best word to describe it, though it’s close. And the two’s motives are too different from one another for them to be true allies.

Notable Enemies: [Unknown]

General Notability:

Machina might often be mistaken as a sidekick, as he often prefers to stay in the back and fill a supportive role. Also acting as surveillance and recording information on both heroes and villains. However, he’s fully capable of handling himself when it comes to it.

The pony also has a massive number of tricks up his sleeve with just his standard equipment alone. Such as firing the cannon’s in his hooves to “Rocket Jump” off of solid surfaces or to increase the impact of his punches. And overcharging his stun lance to create an ionized sword.

While in combat or giving chase, his preferred method of transportation is using the thruster on his back. While not a full jet pack, it’s primary use is to allow Machina to power slide or skate his way to the finish.

(man, I hope I am not too late for this but dubstep told me you can use some Supervillains! So here's hoping I am not late to the party!)

Name: Ember Ashwing

Ember.png

Supervillain Name: Harbinger of Tartarus

Embers outfit.jpg

(Will have colored art soon, wanted to get this app out sooner then later!)

Powers: Fire manipulation/creation, fire/heat immunity, strength (maximum of five tons -10000 pounds / 4536 kg- lifting force or punching force), supernatural durability (Not to be confused with Invulnerability.)

Weaknesses: Water/ice powers, extreme weakness to magic based attacks as her durability does not stop magic damage, blind in her right eye.

Alias: Ember the blacksmith. Ember works as a freelance blacksmith and takes great pride her in craft. She lives her with mate, a caribou named Kave Rangifer that has no clue his wife is a Supervillain. She is shy and hardly goes outside her shop duo to her horrible scarring.

Backstory: Ember was born in the coastal city of Seaddle to a single mother named Gothic Iron. A freelance blacksmith who created armor and blades. Thanks to this Ember and her mother found her powers early on in life as the young filly played with the flames of the forge and hot steel. Fearing Ember may end up an outcast or even hated and feared, Gothic Iron trained Ember to hide and suppress her powers.

Going to school was not easy for Ember and she spent most of her classes sleeping or trying to restrain herself in gym class, the young filly was often shy and reclusive. This only grew worse after bullies started to pick on the odd bat filly. Too scared to defend herself and reveal her powers she was easy prey. But it was in this time she made her best friend for life, Kave Rangifer the caribou. The two feeling out of place and often picked on grew to be close friends as they helped one another stand up to bullies.

Ember’s fillyhood became more normal over time but she never felt like she belonged and as the years passed she grew a deep seated anger for the “normal” kids with their pumped up kicks. But her friend and mother kept her in check. But Ember was a pressure cooker ready to blow if one part failed. This failure came in in the final year of high school as a battle between an untrained Superhero and Supervillain came crashing into the school. In the chaos that followed Ember found herself trapped between the two super powered ponies and in fear unleashed her powers as flames raged to life around her.

The Superhero that was battling a villain that used fire, misidentified Ember as his rival and believing the the supervillain was going to unleash fire on fleeing ponies, unleashed a powerful magic missile at the flaming mare and struck Ember on her right side. This accident forever deformed Ember as the magic warped her skin and completely burned away her right wing. Blinded by pain she never felt before Ember failed to see the Superhero rushing to her aide, shocked and horrified as to what he just did. She bucked him in the chest with all the strength she had in her and kicked the Superhero clear over the top of a neighboring skyscraper.

The Supervillain named Spitfire saw everything and feeling some small kinship in the mare that had fire-based powers moved in and unlike the hero, came in from the front. Using calm, motherly words she calmed Ember and took her back to Spitfire’s hideout and helped doctor the wounds. The two had a long discussion about what happened to Ember, Spitfire explained how she grew up feeling the same way but found that hiding did nothing, bowing down and groveling at the hooves of weaker ponies gained her nothing but pain. Ember found truth in Spitfire’s words, all her life she was holding back, lying and losing races just to look weak to make normal ponies feel better. Why?

Spitfire took Ember back to her home and dropped the mare off in the dead of night and told her; “If you want revenge, just go to my lair and tell me. I need a sidekick as strong and powerful as you.” Her words hung in Ember’s mind even as her mother greeted her with tears and worried hugs. Ember’s life was never the same after that moment. Scarred by the magic she refused to go back to school to be bullied even more for looking horrific. So she cut herself off from the outside world and poured all her anger, hate and rage into a new hobby, blacksmithing.

Kave Rangifer was the only one other then her mother she allowed to be around and talked to. He spent much of his time with Ember and soon the two found they may be more the friends as he made every effort to help the injured mare. It was not long before the two were dating. With her life starting to grow more stable Ember found the words of Spitfire coming back. Blacksmithing was just a hobby to distract her and Kave filled her with love, but he never had the power to make her feel like she belonged or was normal. One full year after Spitfire offered to take Ember in as a sidekick she took the offer up and went out to meet Spitfire at her lair.

Spitfire made good on her offer and took Ember in as a sidekick and started to train her in combat and how to master her control over fire. Soon Ember took part in her first ever act as a Supervillain by helping Spitfire in a train robbery to steal some technology. At first Ember was scared as they blew open the doors, stormed in and started fighting guards. But the fear gave way to joy as she smacked guards away like flies, ripped doors off hinges and sent ponies running and screaming with waves of fire that danced at her whim. It was empowering and for the first time in her life she felt truly alive and knew there was no going back.

From that day on she lived a double life. Ember the blacksmith who lived with her coltfriend and her Supervillain life, full of crime and heart pounding battles with Superheroes. It was exhausting at times but Ember stuck to it learning all she could from Spitfire for the following two years. After one battle with two Superheroes that Spitfire and Ember won by the skin of their teeth, Spitfire told Ember she had nothing more to teach and it was time for Ember to be far more than just some sidekick. She was ready to be a Supervillain by herself. The two spent the following days saying their farewells as Spitfire wanted to move on to a new city and pass Seaddle on too Ember’s flaming hooves.

With Spitfire gone Ember took a short break from crime to deal with some important factors in her life. She married Kave Rangifer and opened up a blacksmithing shop down by the coast named Ember’s Forge where she built custom armor and blades for ponies along with metal jewelry. After things settled down she got to work in secret to build a suit of armor to act as her new disguise for she was no longer just some sidekick, no she was… The Harbinger of Tartarus!

Notable Allies: None

Notable Personal hero rivalry: None

Friends and family: Gothic Iron, mom. Kave Rangifer, Mate.

General Notability: She was only known as Spitfire’s Sidekick and has yet to make a name for herself under her new name as the Harbinger of Tartarus.

If Pretzelpony approves, I'm thinking of retooling EPIC (Equestrian Protection and Investigation Command) into this AU's version of SHIELD, led by no other than Director Pummel (based off my General Pummel OC). :D

Superhero/Supervillain Name: Morpheus.  Daedalus does not use any sort of costume or catchphrase and does not purposely conceal his identity; however in most underground circles he is simply known by the moniker Morpheus for his ability to manipulate the mind.

Powers: Extremely intelligent and highly practiced in the use of dark magicks, including but not limited to mind manipulation and suggestion, illusions and conjuring, teleportation and portals, and fear and charm spells.  Recent pursuits include study in necromancy, reality-warping, and summoning, among other magical taboo subjects.

Weaknesses: Physical harm.  Most of Daedalus’ tricks involve avoiding harm in combat by deceiving, disorienting, and the decimating his foes.  He can also throw up shields and blink to escape danger.  His physique, however, is merely average and somewhat frail compared to the superpowered enemies he normally confronts.

Alias: Daedalus of House Sardonyx in Maretonia, a freelance mage and ritualist.  Daedalus is a charming, handsome unicorn who is highly educated and extremely dangerous when cornered.  The suave and polite demeanor hides the magnitude of his powers well and can open vulnerabilities for his manipulation techniques.  Despite the nature of his abilities, Daedalus still tries to maintain some semblance of a moral compass.  He sees evil in the world and actively works where he can to undermine it, even if at times his actions are legally questionable.

Backstory: The son of a Maretonian politician, Daedalus was groomed from birth to enter the Maretonian court and play the games that would keep his family in their good graces.  After he discovered his affinity for dark magic, however, he left home in self-imposed exile, as he knew that following that legacy would bring grave consequences upon both himself and his family.  He now travels as a mage for hire while practicing his craft and gathering allies for the day that he might return to Maretonia to face the Assembly.

Notable Allies: (awaiting discussion)

Notable Personal Villains: The Assembly of Heads in Maretonia.  Though they bring stability to Kastrot, the Assembly is known for its oligarchic tendencies and willingness to go to great lengths to eliminate perceived threats to their power.  It is only a matter of time before they catch wind of Daedalus’ activities abroad, decide he is a liability, and act to eliminate him.

Other villains may include anyone who has fallen victim to his powers, lost artifacts/intel to him while working for a rival employer, or companies/people wanting to tie up loose ends after a job completed by Morpheus.

General Notability: Morpheus’ magical prowess is well-known in the back channels and the underground; he is the one you call to handle problems that non-superpowered individuals cannot, or alternatively problems that need to be dealt with discretely.

Alright,  I  believe I've edited sufficiently. If my changes are not enough,  please let me know.

I've been dwelling on my thoughts on his for a while... Honestly the thing is that you're app focuses almost entirely on what he can do and how he was able to achieve it... you haven't told us much of anything about his personality or any thing unique or different about the character... a lot of this is revolving around the power and fear he brings to the world and honestly you seem far more interested in the power and things he could do rather than taking him anywhere interesting as a character. IN addition to all this, with all his power and resources... how  often do you think he could get involved in anything and still have dramatic stakes. I don't mean like constantly fighting the sentinel and the knight ... mostly because the sentinel and knight will mostly be similar to like they are in show but likely much more busy , having to leave world and deal with cosmic level threats that  will take up their time. I honestly don't want to play the sentinel all that much except for future story based things, she's not going to be a regular appearing force in every other ponies story... So who else would really give Sombra a challenge?

For the time being I think This AU might not need a Sombra character for now. Would you be okay wiht apping a lower level villain or character, or a hero?

Identity: Pummel, Director of the Equestrian Protection & Investigation Command (EPIC)

Physical Description: A towering, grim-looking gray Pegasus approaching his senior years

EPIC Call Sign: "Papa Bear"

Powers: None per se, but Director Pummel is trained in hoof-to-hoof combat and the use of numerous magitech weapons, and is usually equipped with a life-saving gadget at all times for "emergency reasons". Pummel's secret weapon is a cybernetic right eye (his real right eye was lost in combat a long time ago), disguised with an eye patch, which provides X-ray vision. If all else fails, Pummel can still pack quite a wallop with a strong punch.

Backstory: Coming from a Stalliongrad family, Pummel came from a rough neighborhood. He learned how to fight on the streets to defend himself and his younger brothers, which served him well when he enlisted in the Equestrian Army. Pummel proved to be a natural leader and an especially good soldier, his military career culminating in earning the Medal of Valor for risking his own life to save a squad from an ambush by Empowered rogues.

That heroic feat put Pummel on EPIC's radar, who recruited him into the clandestine government agency. It was during this time that his reputation as the world's greatest soldier grew, constantly accomplishing missions in the face of poor odds. Soon enough, Pummel was the stallion training EPIC's recruits, as well as helping to plan out EPIC operations. After years of dedicated service, Pummel was an obvious choice to take the reins of EPIC itself.

About EPIC: EPIC is a secret government agency charged with using espionage to investigate potential threats, and to defend Equestria from said threats. Much of EPIC's personnel are non-Empowered ponies of a highly talented nature, although some Empowered superheroes also work for the Agency. As a government organization, EPIC has access to a vast amount of resources and funding; much of it kept secret from the public.

Notable Adversaries: Since its inception, EPIC's greatest foe has been WRAITH: a ruthless terrorist organization determined to conquer the world by any means necessary. Like EPIC, WRAITH members consist of both Empowered and non-Empowered, and has access to significant espionage and paramilitary assets. Nobody knows for certain who currently controls this renegade outfit; many leaders have come and gone over the decades, yet EPIC is still no closer to killing "that which is already dead". Like the kraken that serves as the symbol for WRAITH, if a tentacle is cut off, two more shall take its place.

General Notability: Director Pummel is a highly polarizing figure within the superhero community, along with the rest of EPIC. One side believes that EPIC is a necessary safeguard against Empowered enemies of Equestria. The other side chafes at EPIC oversight, correctly pointing out that there have been several instances when the Agency erroneously believed that a superhero had gone rogue... and not to mention all the morally questionable things EPIC has ever done in the name of Equestrian liberty.

Despite his old age, Director Pummel is still regarded as a living legend; the greatest soldier of his generation. Those who have either served in a military, paramilitary, or mercenary outfit regard Pummel with the highest respect.

So... it looks like there are two entities that are looking to keep heroes and villains path of destruction in check.

Machina - Who mostly watches over fights and collateral damage in person. Operating mostly under the influence of the Academy and his own motivation.

And EPIC - Which is an unmanaged organization with some methods that are over the law.

Now we just need our own version of XCOM.

Also Dio; Machina will be keeping his eye on Morpheus.

So when do we kick this off?

I nominate Pursuer for being a member of Equestrian XCOM.

And I think it starts whenever we want it to start, at least sort of.  I've got a tentative thread I want to run, but I want to have a couple of villain finished before I get started on it.

Call Sign: Arcus

Alias: Tehengu, EPIC agent

Physical Description: He is a large, well muscled griffon, and his body is mostly brown. His claws and his beak are black, while his eye is green. The left eye is ruined by an old wound and covered by a bandanna.

Powers: The only real powers he has are the ability to duplicate ammunition and the ability to infuse it with various elements to cause different effects. Ice would lock down the target by freezing them in place, lightning would chain between targets and possibly incapacitate them, air would help with penetration by speeding the arrow up, fire would be extra damage over time, and earth would be straight up more damage but it wouldn't penetrate at all. Everything else is skill, his skill with the bow, his skill at sniping, his skill with his greatsword and knife.

History: Growing up was a good experience for him. His parents were loving, and even though his father was quite different in that he was a chamerosh (don't remember how to spell that), and quite possibly had powers, they got along wonderfully together. He learned how to use the bow from his father, though he was horrible at aiming at the time.

It wasn't until he left home and joined the military that he truly became good at aiming the bow, and he acted as sniper on many successful missions. It wasn't to last though, as on a dangerous mission one of his squadmates decided he had enough and betrayed them.

The traitor killed the rest of the squad before Tehengu knew what was happening, and injured him before he could do anything about it. After a hard-fought battle, Tehengu emerged victorious thanks to his newfound abilities and escaped the battlefield, but he had lost everything. After that, he left the military, turning to mercenary work and honing his skills and his new abilities. Eventually, he discovered EPIC, and joined them to make a difference in the world.

Notable Allies: EPIC and everyone that works in it.

Notable Enemies: [Unavailable]

General Notability: He is known in merc circles at least for never failing a job, though he is likely not known to the general public.
