Dragon Age RP: OCC/Signup.

Hi. You know what this is about, so lets get into it. Check the Interest check for thing I look for in posting:

1: Effort in posts will be required. If you do one liners, please don't read anymore. No offense to that style, but i'd rather have people who put some level of effort into their posts then just quickly smashing their face on the keyboard.

2: Posting order: While I can't say for certain this'll be in effect due to unknown numbers, don't rush off ahead without the group. Will vary depending on situation ect.

3: G-modding. Pretty basic, but I'm not a fan of it. U wanna have ur guy go 1v100 and not get touched, go ahead, but not here.

4: Mary-sues: Pretty much the same as 3. While i'm all for character having backgrounds that are unique that make them different, hell i'd encourage it, don't do old staples (Dead parents means they trust no one). While i'm not looking for apps yet, having an idea of your character is a good start.

5: General knowledge of the content: I'm not asking you to know how strong BLANK armour is, but it would be expected that you know the races, social views and such. I won't say no if you've never played the game, however I do advise playing it.

6: Ask ask ask. If you're unsure, ask. Its better to ask and know then guess and be wrong in my opinion. Unsure of a races opinion on something, ask. Unsure of what to make your 'Loyalty' mission (Yes those will happen), ask and i'll try help. I want you to enjoy this!

(A general statement for now, i'm tired while writing this)

 

Anyway! If you are interested, Go right head and apply. Each application will be done over by me. If you're confused on something, please don't be afraid to ask.

For the avoidance of Doubt, the RP WILL BE ANTHRO STYLE. This means you stand on 2 legs, have hands to weild weapons. Earth-borns are physically stronger. Pegasi are born with wings but are physically weaker. Unicorns are gifted magic (And all that comes with it).

Species: (Pony races. Humans & Elves are Earth/Peg/Unicorns) Dwarves are Diamond Dogs (Since it’s unlikely anyone will pick em’. Anything else is discussable. This is flexable so put what you want and we’ll work from there)

Age: (Doesn’t have to be an age, just an age area if you want)

Gender:

Physical: (Eyes, coat, mane ect)

Class: (So their general combat style)

Specialisation (If any): (Shadow, Spirit Healer ect)

Personality: (If you’re gunna put chlique’s here, please rethink your character. Unless it helps the character, I’m not gunna deal with them. Eg: Dead parents = They trust no one. Slow to trust but when doing trusts completely)

History: (I’d like some level of detail here. You don’t have to go in depth about how their mother cooked them pasta for 5 years straight, but have something interesting, or bland. They can be a merc looking for money for all I care)

Weapons/Armour/Clothing: What you wear/carry with you.

Loyalty Missions: Now, if you’ve played a Bioware game (MASS EFFECT!), Loyalty Missions were basically fun ‘side-missions’ where you help a character doing something related to their history. Dragon age had them also, but to a lesser impact. Every character has history so use that. I request that each player has 1-2 Loyalty Missions, PM them to me and leave this section blank as I’d like to check over a few things before confirming them.

Name: Cryie

Species: Unicorn

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Physical: Cryie stands ‘tall’ at 5’8, with a soft white coat. Her eyes are a soft emerald green and her mane is a shining silver colour. Her arms and legs are of average length, but despite being past the age of maturity, her chest lacks development. Despite that, her body has its curves.

Class: Support Mage (A Support Mage focuses on helping protect/Heal her allies than inflicting harm on their enemies)

Specialisation (If any): Spirit Healer (Unlocked later). Not all Spirits in the Fade are evil, others like Justice and Compassion exist. Very few mages ever come across these spirits, and fewer still ever converse. A Spirit Healer is someone who, the spirit believes, embodies their ideal and, in turn, grants them power.

Personality: Cryie is protective of anything that is hers. Books, drinks, clothes, she struggles to share and hoards all she can for herself. While not stubborn, if she’s right, she will refuse to budge, and likes to consider herself an expert in magic, despite not understanding it properly.

Despite being only 19, she believes she could take on the world and win, as every 19 year old does. Despite growing up in a rough crowd however, she is extremely caring, compassionate and empathic. Despite her role, she often refuses to fight unless confronted and threatened. However, if one she cares about is threatened, she struggles not to intervene.

History:  If one was to look through the records of the Circle, Cryie wouldn’t be on their list. The mage’s real name isn’t known to her, not that she knows. The daughter of a small family from Terna, a tiny village in the north, being born a unicorn meant a single thing: The circle. The parents had a son at the Circle, and fearing their daughter would hate it just like he did, tried to keep her safe. Their attempts resulted in the girl being smuggled by, of all forces, Orzammar’s cartel. The dog mercs got paid handsomely to sneak the unicorn into their hideout, in the caves. What happened to her parents after that, Cryie doesn’t all. All she knew is that her parents sent her unground to keep her safe.

Cryie grow up from a young age surrounded by Diamond Dogs, knowing only comfort of the stone above her head. She trained for years in medicine, having books and staffs smuggled in for her to learn. She soon developed a natural affinity for healing, a trait that made her an extremely valuable recourse for the Carta. Even as a young girl, she was expected to hold her own and make her keep, causing some stressful moments with fellow Carta members. The girl continued to develop her protective magic, and even created a few offensives ones in case. Aged 16 and armed with knowledge, she began exiting the office, and assisting with raids into the Deep Roads. She’d been forced to fight Darkspawn, and while she found their appearance frightening, managed to hold her nerve after several encounters with, what she saw, as demonic beasts.

Aged 18, she became the envoy of the Carta. Despite being a mage, a warning she didn’t understand, she began traveling to the surface with an escort and trading with others. She didn’t have much contact with the surface world, just enough to stop looking up at the sky in fear of falling into it. A year later, the rumours floated around. Darkspawn leaving the tunnels, a Blight beginning. Raids in the Darkspawn tunnels increased, but the carta wanted more. Needed more.

So that’s how Cryie, along with 12 of the best trained Carta agents, were dispatched. Armed with a map, they headed south to Lothering. The town didn’t interest them, but they had a contact in the town. A contact who specialised in magic tomes and books, and Cryie didn’t want to risk losing access to a precious resource.

Weapons/Armour/Clothing: Like many mages before her, Cryie wears robes practically screaming to the world she uses magic. Her robes are a light red and white, that split in the middle to reveal a black shirt and pants. Her robes also comes with a hood. She wears tight-closed boots.

She is armed with a single wooden staff. The staff has metal handles across its middle, and the tip is shaped with a metal attachment in the shape of a small dagger pointed outwards.

Loyalty Missions:

Mission 1:

Daemonic Possession: All Mages are capable of corruption by Demon. It is why the Templar order was created and carefully monitor all mages, for if a single demon inhabits the body of a mage, untold destruction could come of it.

Description: Having never completed a ‘Harrowing’, and living in the protection of Orzammar’s rocks her life before, Cryie has never had to defeat the daemon that wishes to possess her. She will come face to face with that she doesn’t understand, and be forced to choose. A decision that, if done wrong, will leave her dead and a demon in possession of her body.

Starts: Mage in Party discussion. OR Circle Of Magi Discussion. OR Random Night Camp.

Mission 2:

Dish Best Served Cold: Revenge is something everyone can attune to, after all, it’s part of being alive. When someone dear to you is stolen away, it’s only natural to want to inflict pain back. The question is; how far are you willing to go? And when you get there, can you truly take a life?

Description: Cryie has lost her dearest friends, and despite everything, loses herself to pain and misery. Not only must the mage bound back from the pits of death, but she embarks on a quest that take her far from home and challenge her morals and heart.

Starts: Lothering

Other: Cryie loves the company of small animals, and currently owns a cat she calls 'Jinx'. The cat travels with her in her backpack or on her shoulder.

Name: Dolor

 

Age: Adult

 

Species: Minotaur

 

Gender: Female

 

Physical: She is rather buff for a female her age, rather talk as well. Her fur starts as black around her head, turning into a cow pattern past her shoulders and ending with completely white fur by her knees. Her eyes are a blue color, and her horns are black and stick out forward a little bit. She also has two thick braids of hair that fall on either side of her face. 

 

Class: Warrior

 

Specialization: Templar/Berserker 

 

Personality: Dolor is very friendly with her allies and friends, usually trusting them quickly after they show they are not enemies. As for her enemies, she will show them no mercy, protecting others by eliminating the threat and putting herself in the way. She is not the smartest girl out there, but what she lacks in intelligence she makes up for with toughness, determination, and strength. She also generally has no concept of social filters, or sayings, and will take most things very literally. 

 

History: Dolor lived out her entire life with the same tribe from the Exalted Plains. She grew up around them, they may as well have been one big family. The Warriors of the clan though, she was always drawn to them. They protected the clan, and she worked hard to join their ranks. As she got older, she passed into adulthood and took her place as a protector of the clan, traveling out to meet threats before they reached the tribe. 

 

Unfortunately, there was one threat they missed while they were out, and that group from a rival tribe ended up ransacking the camp and harming most of her tribe, including her parents. After that, she swore revenge and left on a journey to find the culprits, eventually reaching the country she now finds herself in.

 

Weapons/Armor: For armor, she wears heavy plate, and for a weapon she uses a large hammer. Both are rather crude, but effective, attesting to her roots as a member of her tribe. 

 

Loyalty Missions:

Vengeance: Revenge and Justice can be the same thing at times, especially when the crime is personal. 

 

Description: It had taken her years, but now she had finally found them, the Shadowcallers that had attacked her tribe. Now it was time for them to pay. Nothing will get in her way of dispensing her justice..

Name; dancer estrago a.k. "the harmless harlequin"
Species; Pegasus 
Age:20
Physical; dancer is average height for a mare. But she has long legs making her appear taller. Her fur is dark red, and her mane and tale are pitch black. She has golden eyes. She is very attractive with slight tone to her limbs and stomach with a large breasts. 
Class; rouge. Acrobatic fighter- flips around the fight gaining positional advantages. Also skilled in the use of hammers for heavily armored opponents.
 
Special; dancer will at first appear as a clumsy harlequin who is very dim witted to put her enemies off guard. However she is acually very intelligent and agile using knives, daggers or other short blades combined with her acrobatics to kill or disable her opponents. When faced with a heavily armored foe where a blade will do little, she will switch to a hammer. And use a Drunken Fist like style where she uses her awkwardness and stumbles to fake her opponent and open them up to a vulnerable strike. 
She is also good at infiltration and stealth. But would rather use her harlequin disguise to just meet and socially infiltrate places.
 
Personality;
A loyal intelligent bodyguard dancer has no shame, and has chosen to literally play to fool to do her job better. 
In character of the harlequin she is loud clumsy and always making bad jokes and commentary. She laughes and jokes always trying to bring fun and smiles. She has no shame and constantly embarrasses herself. 
However this is all an act so she can observe the area, she is always on guard. 
When out of character and being her actual self she is actually rather reserved. And enjoys wine and books.
 
History; dancer was born into a circus family. And grew up in the family business. Her province was saved by some brave knights and as thanks they performed for them and there liege. In the midst of her act "a comedy knife throwing gag" she spotted a shadowy figure approaching the liege and tried to save them by throwing her knife. Turns out this figure was actually a shadow guard, a body guard who protects from hidden spots and makes there presence unknown. Impressed with the display. The shadow guard offered to recruit her. Already having good athleticism and acrobatics from being a performer she was a perfect recruit!
 
Dancer then learned how to be a body guard and further her own acting abilities. She and her trainers decided that she could use her previous circus talents to good use and be a jester and bodyguard. Someone no pony would ever suspect as being a hidden protector!
 
Dancer eventually finished her training and took the persona as the harmless harlequin. She used theatrics and acting to make herself look like a silly fool when in reality she was being observant and protecting everyone. For example she would come in and pretend to fall over her own feet but on the floor she would check under tables and other hiding spots for enemies. She could get weapons into pretty much anywhere "oh these there just my juggling knives, wanna see?" And had an excuses to always be around her clients. She would appear harmless, find her enemies and strike before they even acted!
 
Clothing; the harlequin usually wears some face make up, making her look pale white with rosy cheeks. And keeps her mane behind a two tailed jester cap, which is half black and half white. 
She wears a white skirt with gold trim that is far too short for her (part of her acts and gags) and a puffy jacket of purple and black with lots of pockets for her jokes toys and weapons. 
 
Sometimes she will switch to her battle gear which is leather body suite with some extra pads, She initially painted it white and red like a jester costume. But the whole thing was too hot and uncomfortable to be inside all day while dancing around.

Dancer has had success as a shadow bodyguard. However there was one instance where she failed and her client a dutchess was killed. It wasn't her fault at all given the circumstances. But it still eats away at her to this day. She swore that before she dies she would find the assassin and get revenge and solace for her failure!

Reminder, we need at least 1 Grey Warden. I can control 2 character so if neither of you want, i'll summon a Warden and play em, if not, then I won't.

 

Also be aware, much like how you can in DA, you can recruit NPC's (Controlled by me) during the RP. These characters are sometimes obvious, other-times, less so.

I am currently writing up the intro post, however since we are lacking any Wardens, I am in the process of creating a Grey Warden. If anyone who wishes to join wants to be a Warden Also, please do, I am not limiting the number of Wardens we have.

 

Due to this creation process, he will not be there at the beginning, so explore the town and locate eachother, and hopefully everything will resolve itself as he arrives.

Here is the Grey Warden. I'll allow you guys to step yourselves up before Buccanner Armstrong comes to play. And yes, if you understand where Buccanner comes from and who he is based on, then i'm happy and you watched the correct version.

 

Name:  Buccanner Armstrong

Species: Human Earthborn

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Physical: Standing tall at 6’0, he is a mountain of Muscle. He has a white coat, amber eyes and the raw appeal of strength you wouldn’t mess with. His mane is black, and tied up into a single ‘ponytail’ which he lets lose.

Class: Warrior

Specialisation (If any): Champion

Personality: A career soldier to the end, he follows his orders and leads him men. Survival of the fittest and he believes that with his heart. He, like many, distrust mages, and despite his mentality to give all a go, struggles when it comes to magic. Tough but fair, if asked, he would walk through hell itself to get his job done.  

History: As a young boy, he loved order, he enjoyed the security of it, so it was only natural he joined his local army in the wintery north. Nicknamed ‘The Wolf of the North’, he became a legend among his area. Leading by example during times of conflict, he was the first in and last out, and so earned the loyalty of his men.

When the Grey Wardens visited the North, he was their first option. While reluctant to leave his post, he placed his faith in his men, and joined the Wardens, showing the same level of determination and leadership, rising through the ranks.

The battle at Ostargar wasn’t his first encounter with the Darkspawn, and he survived only due to a king old women mage, thing. Now traveling to Lothering, he hopes to make sense of what happened in that battle, rally his allies and other Wardens, and continue his quest. Stop the blight.

Weapons/Armour/Clothing: Buccanner is a soldier and so, wears heavy armour is rarely removes it. In his right hand is always a large blade, and his left is always a mystery. Sometimes he’ll have a shield, other times, an axe, attached to the armor itself. It is a deep blue heavy armour.

Loyalty Missions:

Loyalty is earned, not given: A warrior hardened by the cold, Buccanner is a simple man. You want his respect? You earn it. You want to tag along? Prove you can handle it.

Description: Down in the dumps, Captain Buccanner of the Wardens isn’t about to quit. He must find allies, and fast. Lothering is his first stop, will he find forces he can rally, or will he walk a lonely road in his quest?

Start: Lothering.

Other: If you hear a rumour that involes a ‘Bear with a mohawk’, it was Buccanner.

Name: Tehengu

Species: Griffon

Age: Adult

Gender: Male

Physical: He is a large griffon, with a well-developed musculature born of his years in combat. His body is brown, with green eyes and a black beak and claws. His left eye is ruined by an old wound and he wears a bandanna over it most of the time.

Class: Rouge (Archery)

Specialisation (If any): Dragon Age 2 Assassin (As long as it's fine to use the later version of it since the original was only melee.)

Personality: Tehengu is very loyal, not going back on his promises unless there is a very good reason too. That being said, he doesn't make promises he doesn't plan to keep or that he knows he can't keep. He is nice to his friends, and his allies to a lesser extent, except for in battle. In battle, he is all business, his focus entirely on finishing the fight with the least amount of casualties that he can.

History: Tehengu lived his early years peacefully on the edge of a small town, his father preferring more nature than town. When he was old enough, he left home, traveling and trying to find his place in the world. He joined the military during his travels, becoming good friends and essentially family with his squad. Well, all but one of them. That one betrayed them during a mission, getting the entire squad killed and injuring Tehengu before he could take the traitor down. It was hard, but he managed to escape the remaining enemies, and he left the military out of grief.

After that, he became a mercenary, working for whoever would pay as long as he had no problems completing the job. He did this for a while before he was approached by one of the Gray Wardens. He joined their ranks, working hard to protect people from threats. 

He wasn't part of the battle that turned the Wardens into targets, but he knew about it very quickly. Since then, he has been moving from place to place, searching for surviving wardens.

Weapons/Armour/Clothing: He wears black leather armor, and carries a longbow, a dagger, and a sword.

Loyalty Missions:

Consequences: Every choice has ramifications, there is no escaping them.

 

Description: Tehengu has failed missions before, but this one had been by choice. He had been on the job to kill a unicorn for someone, but he saw no reason to at the time. Now though, the stallion was working for Logain, hunting down his enemies and the wardens with no remorse. It was time to take up that job once again and finally complete it.

So far no isseues, i'm excited to see his loyalty and such.

 

Just an fYI, i'm seeing my friend this weekend and she doesn't have internet at her place apparently so I won't be able to post for a day or so. Be aware the post i'm working on is sorta big since it'll be Buccanner meeting Dancer and their 'recruitment', assuming it is played correctly (Yes, bucc will leave them if it isn't done corrently, so be aware), yaeh.
