Winter is Coming [Invite; Ice Storm]

Canterlot: the seat of the celestial princesses of Equestria. Carved into the side of a mountain, steeps hills were chiseled down into stony steppes. The ingenuity of a pony tribe looking to create a center in their growing culture. Though there were many ponies who settled into the center of Equestrian lifestyle: Unicorn culture was strongest high in the clouds, far beyond terra below. While the icy climates were worse higher up, becoming blistering and biting: the capital was nestled perfectly in the middle, having the best of both worlds. Gentle snow in the winter and temperate springs.

Here was where the spirit of chaos sought to pervert the peace. He had come by and by to hassle the sun maiden, but her hours spent either signing paperwork or tending to throngs of subjects quickly bored him. With fall arriving close behind the memories of summer the spirit was feeling lazy. It was neither hot nor cold, just a quiet lull. Stretched out on one of the balcony of the castle towers, the draconequus would resign to watching the peasantry addle along the streets below. His slender body was coiled out across the gold banister, tail pooling on the marble surface behind him. His paw was laid out, head rest over the furry moccasin. His griffin's claw dangled down, digits working his invisible puppet strings.

Ruby pupils were of alternating sizes so it was a bit difficult to view the chaotic spirit as anything but mad, but he has an intelligence that rivaled most mad geniuses!!

…wait…

But alas those twitching digits would assault passing ponies below with precarious pranks delivered in a myriad of ways. The acts of chaos were delivered by awkward gusts of wind tossing away work worth the whole week, landing into puddles of soapy water: said waters becoming soapy after a cart bubble water lost a wheel which tarried its way across town, creating a distressing scene at a local crepe vendor's cart. Stray animals didn't mind a free meal!!

The serpentine chimera chuckled as ponies panicked, or fluttered about on confusion. But such simple pleasures… there had to be something more challenging out there!

The spirit looked to his claws, humming softly. "The key to a pleasureable life, is living it." He chuckled as he pushed off the banister and floated just above it.

He would find himself a new game.

Oh what a perfect day it was outside today! Ice Storm was certain that it was probably a bit cool for most ponies outside considering she was perfectly comfortable outside for once without having to at least make a small amount of ice around her at all. In the summer months she had a good sized sheet on her whenever she left the house that was around her neck to help her stay cool. Today, she had nothing, which mean fall was here and winter, her favorite season was right around the corner. That meant though that she was going to be closed in most of Equestria as far as her shop was concerned. She might be able to stay open in Hoofington, and while that might not be entirely likely, a visit to see her mom was definitely in question. Ever since she started going on the missions for Epig, it's been really hard for her to find time to do much of anything with any of her friends. She hoped that the missions in the winter would be slower, but considering ice was her specialty, and there was usually a lot of it this time of year, she doubted it. Although she made a note to spend what time she could with them.

Today though, was one of the days that she was closed and was one of her days to just relax and be herself. She didn't have to go the study in the castle tonight, no epic mission to worry about, no pony to wait on in the store. Today was going to be just the day that she needed. One filled with much needed rest and relaxation. She slowly made her way into Canterlot park to her favorite spot which she could see most of the market square from. Many ponies came to and fro to get whatever it was they needed for their lives to continue at this point in time and sometimes it was nice to just sit back and watch others go about their day. This was the kind of thing that made her smile anymore because she knew this was the kind of thing she was fighting to protect and she would never, ever complain about getting the opportunity to go places most wouldn't dare to keep this tranquility as the status quo for everypony else in Equestria. She paid no mind however to the Draconnequies that was floating by the balcony from the castle whome would have a perfect view of her should he just look down.

With a soft sigh she layed her head down and just let the cool breeze wash over her and the sounds of the chatter and the business take her away. The sounds of everypony else being happy. This was her zen, and as long as she heard this, she knew that she was being successful at her job. She actually remembered back when she first came to Canterlot and how she lived on this hill for many nights before she found refuge with some of her friends that she had made early in her foal hood. She remembered everything that she had to go through to get to this point in her life now, and call her crazy, but she'd go through all of it again and more, if it meant she'd get right back to where she was now. She was a successful business mare, an assistant to one of the most powerful ponies in Equestria, and part of Equestria's most dangerous defense operatives. She couldn't be happier with how things have turned out.

Success was like a well oiled machine…. Eventually it broke down or burst into flames! The repairpony could be quite skilled at tuning the device which they had invested much into it, just so it ran well, but once gears and wires were rusted and worn, not even the best intentions could revive monotony. Once a new path had been found and was observed: returning to the old ways just seemed ineffective. Success was built on the seeds of change and for one to reach their highest point of prosperity, they had to fall back down to scrape for the coins left beneath the rubble.

The spirit was often the fire, or the wrench in the mechanics. Actions that stifled a pony's livelihood was meant to do good, more so than harm. After all of a pony continued the same path in life, day in and day out, without the creeping vines of madness eventually ensuring them. It wasn't security that put a pony at peace, but, instead, it was an ability to adapt that kept the mind stable.

Madness was a conduit of sanity. One without the other was like having spring without rain. The ephemerality existence of life was proof that permanence was an illusion: the greatest lie of the universe.

The spirit's long grey ears gave off the faintest of twitches. His twisted gaze came upon a blue pony. Hardly put of place, but his chaos senses were twitching. Stiff nobles were always a joy to hassle. That zen was about to be shattered. In a poof of confetti the spirit vanished from hid perch and reappeared on a nearby park bench incognito. At least -- as incognito as a spirit of chaos could be. Several ponies jumped in surprise at the sudden appearance. He was seated on the bench with a large newspaper in front of his face. Of course said paper had a front page story about him visiting Canterlot. Eye holes were cut into the paper's image of him as he wore a tight fitting suit jacket and a bowler cap on his qilin horn. A cup of tea manifested, floating beside him as he watched Ice.

The chaotic beast stalked his prey.

As many ponies continued to make their way to and from the park, a few friends stopping by to say hello before returning to the errands that they had to get accomplished before the end of the day, just as many left. The park was rarely full, and that was one of the things that hse enjoyed about it so much. There were days that it was busier than usual, and quite honestly she was expecting this to be one of those days where the temperature and the weather was just right for ponies to go out for a leisurely stroll, perhaps with their fillies and colts through the park and let them play. The ponies in the market remained blissfully oblivious to the fact that she was watching them. Of course she wasn't watching them with any malicious intent, but she was just simply watching. She had to be alert and pick up on things as they were happening. Her training as an EPIC member was mostly to thank for that. Ever since she got back she had noticed that her senses were a lot sharper. She was still sometimes caught off guard as she was still a pony, but somepony else had to be quite good to sneak up on her anymore.

Of course, that didn't seem to stop some ponies from trying. Some confetti seemed to have blown over in her direction and she turned to see where it had been coming from. It looked as if it had been coming over from the castle balcony. Odd, she didn't remember any sort of party being announced at the castle today. Not that the princesses would need a reason to use confetti, or be required to announce a personal party for one another. While they were princesses, it couldn't be denied that they were still sisters, and that somewhere within the confines of that castle, there was sisterly bonding taking place outside from where others can normally see. She knew that they had an image to maintain on the outside, but they were still ponies just as them. Ponies had feelings, and she was sure that they were feeling them just as much as everypony else was.

With a shrug she turned her head back around before hearing a few ponies startle before making there away from the location where a flash seemed to have originate from. She glanced out of the corner of her eye to try to detect what was going on around her, and sure enough she glanced back into a pair of eyes that seemed to be looking at her through a newspaper. She knew of only one being that had magic like that. She wasn't really sure why he was watching her, or what she had done to peek his interests. She was sure that she would figure out in due time. Although she wouldn't be without having her fun with him either. She continued to look out at the ponies in the market place, just scanning around making it look that she was oblivious to the fact that he was sitting there.

The Game.

You were always playing it, even if you didn't know. The spirit always found ways of roping unfortunate ponies into his pacing. While old, even ancient, the hodgepodge'd wizard of wickedness was as quick with his wit as he was with his spells. On a good day one could fine themselves dressed down in absurd costumes and on truly bad days Discord was frightening enough to remove the very horn from your face, or the wings off your back. What was important when dealing with the deranged gamemaster was that all was fair in love and war. The beast always played for keeps and the only way to survive his foalish antics with one's sanity intact was to keep him guessing, and amused. A bored spirit got into trouble…

Passing days such as these were days to be treasured. When time wasn't spent hiding from the bitter cold, or staving off the insufferable heat, it was put to use. With the shops raising prices, or lowering them, to draw in more costumers with the packed and busy streets, one could begin to see the inkling of autumn on the horizon. Wreaths and other pumpkin and gourd decorations were becoming all the rage. One could not turn up the street without the scent of pumpkin and spice or the melodious hum of a wind chime catching the passing zephyrs. Laughing foals and chattering adults made Canterlot a comforting place, despite the existence of unpleasantness buried in its depths.

Opposed to the peace and harmony were those who could be considered harbingers of chaos, but Discord would never side with such crass red-coats. While he did enjoy stirring up trouble and being praised for it,  he disliked the idea of copy-cats or show sealers. He was territorial to his role as the god of chaos. It took quite a big or destruction to get where he wasn't now and a greater deal of skill to remain. Twas not something he was willing to lose, easily or not. A colorful tyrant of tomfoolery it was easy to forget that he held powers nigh comparable to the princesses of the day and night. From hypnosis to the controlling of celestial bodies, Discord could cease time and continue on the day as it didn't flow!

Discord wasn't exactly the king of stealth. If was difficult to hide a meter long serpentine body that stood a meter or more meter on his hind talon and hoof. It really depended on the day! Aside from spooking nearby pones there was also his inability to exercise caution in a crowd. We're he to give it a try he could perhaps hide in plain sight, but where was the fun in that? Buahaha! As the blue mare passed Discord closed his paper, the other him on the cover adjusting a pair of binoculars.

"I doubt she's spotted me." His newspaper visage agreed with a nod and a thumbs up. "Good." He crumbled the paper up and tossed it back into the refuse bin.

Warping out with a white flash the spirit criss-crossed between here and there before he reappeared. An old pony sat in the park tossing seeds to the pigeons. Among the many, normal sized birds, was a giant rock dove. Upon a second glance it was discord in a bird costume. His feathery wing came to his chin to stroke it thoughtfully.  Where was this mare heading? He had a reason for going after her, but that was something she would need to find out herself. The one mare held out a hoofful of seeds for the chaos-bird. He hesitated but leaned in to take a muzzlefull from the senile, old nag. He hummed appreciatively at the crunchy seeds.

"Could use some peanut butter." He critiqued before shedding the outfit and moving after Icy, warping from tree to tree, hiding behind them as he went.

Out of the corner of her eye, Ice Storm noticed that Discord was no longer sitting where he was before. She didn't know where he had run off to at the moment, but she knew that his eyes had been on her previously. Instead she spotted an elderly pony that was feeding pigeons, and that there were quite a few around her. She began to wonder what the draconequies could be up to right now, and she still had no idea what she had done to attract his attention. Well, she couldn't really think of her self as a simple pony by any means. All simplicity had left her life years ago when that spire fell. Now she lived her life on three different fronts, and sometimes four. It was tru that she barely found time for stuff like this anymore. Just taking a break, and letting the air and everything around her soak in. that said it had been a while since there had been enough peace that she didn't have to worry about something happening. Of course there was still that lingering worry that she had to always be prepared for. After all, it was often times least expected when the largest catastrophes happen.

OF course, she liked to believe herself that she really wasn't anything special. She was just a pony that she felt would have done the same thing with her abilities and her position. Any goodhearted pony would want to protect others from those whom had ill intentions right? That's what she believed anyway. Once more she looked around the market place as ponies began to disperse from the mid morning rush, a few ponies still mingling around and shop owners starting to talk more with their friends as the hung around instead of having to address their customers now.

At this point she heard a shuffle around her, coming from where the tree was behind her. She couldn't have imagined who that could be as she diced to go ahead and meet him halfway. "You can go ahead and come out now, I know you're there Discord," she as she waited for him to appear. She knew that if she turned around and looked where she thought he was he'd just poof somewhere else. She had to admit though, the more he toyed with her, the more she wanted to know what he wanted. Knowing his track record, it was probably something off the wall and obscure, but considering he was a divine being with hardly any friends, everything would be obscure. Maybe that's what he wanted, simply a friend. She shrugged, she'd find out soon enough.

Discord was pragmatic when it came to all things chaos, which was a mad concept in and of itself. Contrary and a particularly peculiar fellow: the chaotic spirt was exceedingly disinterested in the mundane politics that surrounded a pony. His primary objective was to prod, push and press a pony passed their boiling point. The steam that washed over thereafter was fuel for his games, trickery and tomfoolery. Tangling tendrils of tumultuous chaos were a binding contract of what to never expect with Discord. His very name rang beneath the whispers of harmony, order ceasing upon his dramatic entries. There was little that could drive him from his goals, aside from those very goals. Contrary being…

He stood behind a tree, paw pressed to the bark. His claws slipped from their furry sheaths to wrap around the trunk and sink into the the chipping flesh. His grey ears folded back against his stiff mane as he processed his overflowing thpughts. Griffon claw moved to scratch against his beard. She drew from the park and towards the market place. An unlit light bulb appeared beside his head as he pondered. He blinked, clarity reaching him. Just as he was about to part his jaws he reached his claw over to pull the click string, lighting the bulb before it expanded like a balloon and popped into confetti.

"What a glamorous idea!" He nickered  enthusiastically, only for his chest fur (and festhers) to puff up when he was called out. "How rude." He declared before warping out.

No sooner had Ice Storm had considered it, her ungenuine wishes came true! We're she to look he had already vanished, but the lumbering mass of chimeric parts would not herald his reappearance with his loud, racous laugther. Above Ice Storm the spirit settled himself on an overhanging tree branch. His long, serpentine body lay across the branch. His gator's claw clung to the wooden limb, his upper body rest like a feline's: paw and claw crossed regally. His hoof dangled down, as did his snaking, red tail. Said tail slung down behind Ice. The white tuft at the end of the tail moved like a grasping hand and reached up to try and tug at her cheek.

"Well aren't you a clever girl?" Were one to glance he seemed to be wearing a brown vest with a hat atop his head and a false scar over his muzzle.

He reached up to peel off the tape that made the scar and the costume would vanish. In the blink of an eye the spirit had moved and was standing over the smaller pony. It was natural as, on his hind legs, Discord towered over most. It didn't help he hovered much of the time. Those misshapen eyes were usually the first onensaw, but with such a chaotic body eyes could land anywhere and find something bizarre. He leaned against the air, elbow of his paw resting on. I thing while his claw sat on his hip.

"Fancy running into you here…uuh." He waited for her to introduce herself. "Have we met?" Seeing as she knew his name so intimately.

He knew why though… Arrogant beast.

Ice Storm didn't really do much as she waiting for the creature known as Discord to show himself to her, with the intent to do so this time. At first he was in the tree above her as she looked up when he appeared only to find his tail tugging her cheek, talking about her being clever. "Well, to be honest, there really wasn't much to be clever about. You weren't really being subtle with your advancements. The startled gasp of some of the other ponies around you was a dead give away to where you were, so I simply followed you in my peripherals. Although it was kinda fun to pretend that I didn't notice you," she told him with a small giggle instead of having a look of annoyance taht she presumed that most ponies would have when they met the embodiment of chaos. After all, when there was Discord, chaos was soon to follow in some what. However, chaos could mean a vast array of different things. Technically, music concerts, and sporting events were full of chaos, but they were not viewed as such because they did not immediately cause a negative reaction in the lives of ponies. That was, except for whatever ponies were the fans of the losing team.

Then again, what could really be considered chaos? What could really be considered harmony? Perhaps some ponies were more content to live among the chaos so that others may enjoy their perspective of harmony, which in of itself, would mean that the pony who lived in chaos was at harmony themselves because they brought it to others. When he said that it would be fancy running into her here before asking if they had met, she giggled once more. "Well, unless you managed to find yourself in some of my dreams, some of which might even scare the likes of you, then I highly doubt it. However I am one of the ones that endures your namesake a lot so that others may inhabit the harmony that myself and the others of my regiment help provide. That's not to say though that almost everypony doesn't know who you are or have at least heard of you," she told him lifting a hoof to shake, fully expecting a shock buzzer in his hand/talon. "Name's Ice Storm, but most call me Icy when I'm not in unit or on duty."

The chaos spirit was an impatient sort when it came to surprises. While he built and designed intricate plots against his ahh, playmates, it was rare that he stuck to the rules of the game. Ponies too obstinate or unwilling to abide by the invisible rules were often victim to his impatience. Did that mean he was unable to hold back his excitement? No. Did that mean he had to? Not usually. As much or as little sense as it made Discord was a twisted creature who spewed his existence into many aspects of Pony life. So long as there was chaos in the world the spirit had a reason to exist here. Chaos was his life blood and without it -he simply was not. He loved having escapades here and there, sprinkling a bit of festivity into the mundane life cycle of the pony. When t he little blue one did not pull away he felt excitement welling up in his chest. A toy playmate that didn't run away or break easily! Most pony, given their prey-like nature, were often quite easily spooked if they couldn't out think their opponent.

But outthinking the god of chaos often led to space madness.

His expression fell a bit as she explained his spy mechanics weren't very -- stealthy. He pressed his paw to his chin as he evaluated her responses and, moreover, looked over her very existence. It was pretty rare for these carefree ponies to be so observant of their everyday environments. That implied one of two things: Ice was paranoid, or she had experienced a life full of surprises, keeping on on their hooves. Both of which he could mold to his advantage today. His paw and claw rest together as he floated in front of the mare, his snake-like body in the most peculiar position making one wonder if Discord even had a spine. He gave a snort when she made comment of her dreams being frightening. He would pffft and wave his paw. Nothing spooked the spirit -- well one thing, but that was a whole other thread now, wasn't it? He has been to the beginning, end, and middle of time, and had seen the world inside out, and outside in.

The spirit appeared behind her in a dark cloak with white mask, cut in half, over his face. He pulled the cloak over his muzzle and chuckled darkly. "I have seen things that would make your fur stand on end, and horrors only the darkness speak of!" He pulled away the cloak to reveal a small fuzzy-haired creature with a bird's beak and round ears. Was it a doll? He tossed it behind him and settled in a floating sitting position on the other side of the mare, his ears pricked forward, a thick tome in his claw. The title was his name, quite blatantly, on the cover. "Sorry to disappoint but everypony knows about me!" He smacked the front with his paw, displaying the book before it crumbled to confetti. He seemed a bit offended by such a concept.

Everypony knew the fun of chaos.

He settled onto the ground with his awkward stance and chuckled. "Well Miss Icy, it is lovely to meet you. Actually I was looking for a pony like you to assist me, a favor if you will. Seeing as Canterlot is not my -- choice visit for holiday." He leaned forward, putting his paw to his muzzle and whispered against her ear. "Natives can be a little tense after plunging their society into chaos for several years." He moved to rest his elbow (and weight, which actually was negligible) onto her back. "You could perhaps lend me a hoof. You seem like a level sort." He complimented before glancing off. "What is the best place to purchase a cake around here?" For the god of chaos that actually seemed rather mundane, but was it truly that simple with the chaotic menace?

Chaos. By it's very definition it was the opposite of harmony, and the opposite of what Ice Storm was trying to achieve with her life. However, even she understood that chaos came in many forms, and no all of it brought disharmony so to say. After all, many things can create chaos, but a lot to make harmony. With the embodiment of chaos before her, Ice Storm was most certainly aware of the fact that her little bout of harmony for the day was likely over, but truthfully, Discord couldn't really surprise her with anything that she hadn't been through before. Although that doesn't mean that his plausible request still couldn't be from somewhere off of the wall in Ponyville. Left Field would have just been way to amaturish for the omniscient deity. When she heard him tell her that he had seen things and horrors that only darkness can speak of. With that he made a... doll? of some sort that she could only presume of some creature that he had supposedly seen. "That doesn't look like a horror, that looks cuddly compared to some of the things that I've fought. Although I have heard that Onyx is quite soothing to look out of," she giggled at her own joke.

When Discord made the comment that he was sorry to disappoint, but everypony knew about him, she laughed again, this time a bit more forcefully. "Well I would sure hope so! A pony who says they haven't heard of Discord is like running into a pony who says they never heard of the sun! That pony might as well be living under a rock."

"Hey!" a gruff stallion peaks out from under a rock. "I like my rock thank you," he said retreating back with a humph.

Ice Storm just blinked at the intrusion before turning back to Discord. "Well, unless your that pony..." she said to him as she heard him say that he was looking for a pony like her to help him with a favor. That Canterlot wasn't really his choice for holiday. That the natives can be a bit tense after plunging their society into chaos for several years. "Well to be honest, with some of the snootier nobles, that wouldn't take much. You could misplace a cracker and they would get all uppity for weeks. I know all to well how most of the nobles of Canterlot are. That's why I do my best to not associate with them. I'll just let them live in their ignorance. As far as cake goes, that depends on the kind of cake that your looking for. If you're looking for a good basic event cake in Canterlot, You have Drops down that way, or there's a little cake stand closer to the center of Canterlot not too far from the castle. If you're looking for an Ice Cream Cake though, I'm your mare." she said proudly.

Chance was the name of the game. One took a gamble when facing the uncertainty that was the spirit of chaos. This was not even a calculated risk for one had to take a leap of faith when flirting with trouble like his. The predatory grin and monstrously mismatched parts should be enough of a warning for a pony to run away, but some ignored that deep, prey instinct. It was hardly a surprise ponies of the day stood against the instincts that made their ancestors weak. Facing danger could sometimes be a benefit, if survived. The lessons learned from experience could be passed down. As pony tribes grew bigger they grew smarter, stronger. He remembers a time where a pony only had one unique talent for the whole of their lives. These days they can learn many things, while specializing in their unique skill. Progress only came with facing the unknown and coming to understand it. These days Discord was that unknown. Wreaking havoc in the kingdom he became a regarded threat -- a danger. The princess of the sun wanted to reform him, but sometimes it was not easy controlling or predicting a force of nature. One could only hope to minimize damage by understanding it.

Discord vanished and appeared floating beside Icy. “I can assure you madam, this bipedal horror once opened a portal of chaos and madness onto this world.” He smirked, the manticore paw moving to hold out the doll.

It was hoof sewn, that much was obvious. Care was placed into creating it, bt at the same time there was a feeling of foalish accuracy to it. Long legs, striped like peppermint was likely a pair of stockings, or striations along scale covered legs. The beak, belonged to a bird and the fluffy had of hair? Well there were many types of birds with fantastical crests of feathers. But what of the round ears? It was an, overall, odd creature. But it could be easily explained by a foal or a pony who hasn’t lost their sense of wonder. A ticket dangled from its round, blue body and read: Coco. Probably its name. The doll vanished at Icy’s comment, so did all of his props, leaving just the draconequus sitting there, in the open. A number of ponies, in the distant, were whispering, others hurrying away and keeping as much a distance as they could. Discord’s ears pricked up as a pony seemed to pop out from a rock in the park.

The spirit raised a brow. “You should be a bit more sensitive with your words.” He warned, smirking a bit.

One could never guess what would happen around Discord. It was a gamble… One would have never guessed gods of time took holidays, but the bouts of peace suffered by a kingdom or a region could very well be the cause of frequent vacations. In the same train of thought sudden disasters or unexpected unrest in other places rightly could be caused by the chaotic wonder finding leisure in his travels. He was no slouch when it came to traveling. He has been around the world and back in time for dinner. He chuckled at the mare’s accurate description of nobility. It could also be causing a bit of Strife amongst the citizens because he is, historically, a known monster. Ponyville had its own sets of problems trying to settle the southern reaches of the Everfree’s edges, but Canterlot ha him to deal with, even if it had been the princesses he had qualms with. He was not a popular candidate for a reformation program, especially after his slip up with Tirek -- Though the incident in question had occurred, primarily, in Ponyville. It did more to hurt his friends than the citizens who hadn’t faith in his self-control to begin with. Even now that hurt him.

They had so much faith in him and yet he betrayed the only ponies that trusted him. It was what spurred his reformation into a more positive role.

His ears pricked up, the draconequus looking akin to a meerkat the way he suddenly perched on his hindquarters. “Ice cream cake?” he had never heard of such a thing before. “There is ice cream and there is cake, how could you put something cold and warm together. It's … it's … chaotic!” He cheered gleefully and motioned his paw. “Well what are we waiting for? Nothing like a cup of tea to go with such a treat!” Of course now Ice Storm was stuck with Discord for the day.

The only thing that Ice Storm could do when she heard Discord tell her that she should be more sensitive with her words. In truth, anymore sensitivity wasn't her strong point. She could be sensitive when the situation called for it. An example would be when she was around her fiance or some of her other friends, otherwise, her sensitivity often followed the context of the environment around her. Right now, everything was calm for the most part, but with Discord around calm was relevant. Of course she wasn't going to go out of her way to be insensitive, and it wasn't like she knew that anypony was going to actually be living under a rock in the park. Well, despite the fact that she herself once lived under this very tree when she first moved here to Canterlot for a few months. She didn't really have anywhere else to go and none of the noble class was going to slander their name by taking a non-canterlotian foal off the streets. Lass, those days were long past. Now she came to this tree for relaxation, and in all honesty even way back when it wasn't that bad until the summer months.

That is of course, she did something that she wasn't sure before now was even something that was even possible. Apparently, her comment about an Ice Cream Cake broke Discord. Had he really not heard of such a thing or was he just toying with her? Well he was locked away for a thousand years so anything was possible... Come to think about it, was was up with everything being locked away for a thousand years? She paused a moment in thought as she recollected all of the events that had transpired that had been dormant or.... hidden for a millenium. Nightmare Moon as banished for a thousand years.... Discord was stoned for a thousand years, well technically a thousand and one because of recently, and then the Crystal Empire reappeared after being missing for a thousand years... Ice Storm started wondering just what other things lay hidden in Equestria that have yet to surface with time and perhaps it was time to start paying some truth to some of the old prophecies that were floating around the legions of EPIC. That would be for a different time right now though.

As it was, it seemed like Discord was quite excited about the idea about a Ice Cream that was also a cake. asking about how you could put something cold and warm together. She giggled. "It's actually quite easy, but I can easily explain it over tea. Come, I have plenty of flavored teas at my shop, so I'm sure I'll have something that will tickle your fancy," she smiled as she started leading Discord out of the park to her shop/home.

While many viewed him as a terror, something that certainly couldn't be helped by the stories of his past,  there were also the contradicting tales of reformation contributing to his supposed acclimation into current society. Indeed he could be viewed as a proud, loyal and most diligent student of friendship, but to let such a snaking menace fool you would bring you into the strike zone. He had already hit an all time high in his lengthy list of ruinated opportunities, but to put stock into another's failures only proved the idea that one was measured by his ability to climb, whether he were a fish or not. Truly the system in place was a failure it it churned out more diligently spiteful ponies than good.

Discord would never admit Celestia's institutionalization friendship model was full proof. It went against his many creeds that involved usurping authority. In particular he humbly felt that if a pony were left to his more dubious devices as a chaos god, the pony in question could progress with just as much wholesome goodness. He did not feel that managing any aspect to life was natural. It was the Providence of a monarchy, and he just hated those! He was the higher being, after all.

Though what made him so, a god as he declared, was a simple measure, or lack-there-of, of his powers being capable of reducing any such nonsensical attempts to thwart him on par with a miracle. Which were what Celestia, Luna, and Twilight's efforts boiled down to: sheer, dishonest, luck. He was still a bit sour about it, more over he was generically distressed that Tia was too busy to be bothered by him!

To be sure though, this was luck! A pony with knowledge of cake, shy of Pinkie Pie herself! "Ohh?" He rumbled and moved to  follow the mare.

Floating along, the serpentine mage tucked his forelimbs to more easily twist around. He looped over the snow blue mare and turned his snout to her, nearly cheek to snooter with her. "So you have a shop? I'm surprised. You don't seem like a native Canterlonian." Moat of them were stuff, and hardly content to deal with him, save for the cafes.

He was a regular at the one nearest Rarity's shop. He he did admire the fashion of these youthful pones, but the garish cost to have something hemmed and tailored to his size was a difficult tax to swallow. It was one of the few civilities Discord enjoyed or took leisure in, though it also came with a considerable amount of odd circumstances such as floating tea and self serving dishware.

"By the way Ice," he called. "What is it you do?" He couldn't imagine such a unique shop in Canterlot, though Rarity and Pinkie has certainly solved past problems regarding that.

It seemed that Discord was quick to pick up the fact that she was not in fact a native to Canterlot. A brief pause in her though made her wonder if he was like the rest of the upper crust nobility here and would scoff at anypony that wasn't born in the city despite their accomplishments. Although from the way he said it, it sounded like he was more surprised that they let her open a shop than anything. She couldn't really say that she was surprised either, but she just shrugged. "Yeah, you're pretty quick to catch. I was actually born in Fillydelphia, but a long strain of family issues left me here in Canterlot from an early age on my own. I am very aware of how the upper crust treat those who are not native here for the most part from my first tenure in Canterlot. I honestly prefer ponyville, as it's much quieter and much more relaxed, but one of my professions requires me to be here in Canterlot, and now I have many friends here was well as my fiance so leaving isn't an option," she explained.

"As far as what I do, if you're talking about just my shop, I sell frozen treats that I make with my magic. If it's frozen and eatable I sell it. I also do like frozen sculptures and statues, and the like s as it all comes easy to me. As to what I do in general, well, I'm a front-line support mage for one of Equestria's primary defense fronts, the name of which I can't really disclose, I'm also the master Ice mage at Canterlot's magic Guild, as I have completely mastered the art of creating and manipulating ice to the point where I can bend the element to my will and I'm practically immune to cold. Lastly, when I'm not running my shop, or doing anything thing with the guild, or on a mission, I am one of Princess Luna's Stewardesses and I study a lot of astronomy and I have permanent access to the Canterlot Observatory and astronomy library," she explained to the draconnequis as she lead him to her door. "And here we are," she told him.

The exterior of the building gave of a very wintry vibe as the shape and design was that of a large block of ice. The windows had a slight frost to them but could still be easily seen through. Inside, the landscape changed entirely. It felt as if a pony were walking straight from Canterlot into a frozen tundra with a small bit of the ocean in front. Felt a bit like it as well with a sudden temperature drop that was felt when they entered the building. The floor fit seamlessly into the walls and the terrain around them. The tables and benches were made to appear as ridges and ledges of ice that came from the ground or the water, and the counter looked like a large iceberg floating across the surface. "This is my shop, and my home Frozen Delights!" she smiled proud of her work.

It wasn't difficult for him to discern her origins. She hadn't the prude pride that moat Canterlonians suffered from. He always said they were infected with smug. They were always trying to be better, rather than be different. If not for Rarity and Pinkie's interference it would have been he who looked to paint the town red as it had become impossible to discern one restaurant from another. It has become monotonous. Their nosy quest had, in fact, provides the district with a structured sense of chaos. He has never thought he would use those words, congruently in a sentence, yet there it was. Fillydelphia? He had never been there. But it did not seem like it was all a friendly place. His paw tightened into a fist, pressed to his feathery chest.

Floating along side Ice, the spirit perked his ears at her tale of tribulations. He couldn't find it in him to have sympathy for her. He was still, after all, learning to cope with the complexities of these mortal creatures. He did not see a reason a mother or father to be important in a foals development. As far as he understood they learned from school, their neighbors, and quite rarely: parents. So they were important in the process of birth, but what after that? It wasn't something he had ever chance to witness. After all who would let Discord, spirit of chaos, near a newborn foal? Well it hardly seemed fair since they allowed Pinkie Pie of all ponies to be alone with newborns who acted short of her own maturity.

"There are always options." His voice did not raise above a soft murmur, which it seemed to be such a wordless sting of sounds as, in the same time of speaking it, he raised his head to scratch at his throat, rumbling softly at the relief his egale's claw brought. "It seems rightly peculiar to me." He would add, a bit more clearly.

Discord knew he probably had parents. How else was he created? Magic seemed a logical answer, but he knew better. Nothing about him made sense in a pony's realm. It was why his was separated from their own. It was not inaccessible by any means, but having an open mind to proceed through it as if one was crossing the street takes a different kind of pony. She seems short of mastering world peace with how she went on. Medals, ranks, awards. His muzzle scrunched up as a fiber of jealousy curled through his spine, causing him to arch a bit as he dashed to the side like a snapping whip. He kept pace with the mare, occasionally fluttering forward whenever his drifting thoughts dragged his momentum.

He had half a mind to contest her busy ways, but the chimeric fiend was struck with a repulsive shock of cold that rippled down from his neck to his tail tip. It was hard not to see how the spirit was struck by the sudden drop in temperature as his body stiffened in a rather angular stutter. It had just been cool! A nice autumn's afternoon! The spirit locked up as he heaved back a breathe.

"Ahh… ahh--" His long neck curled back as his forelimbs tucked to his body, face twisting amusingly. "Ahh pbblt!" As fast as the sneeze was expelled, Discord had manifested a scarf, cap and a mitten on his paw while a glove was pulled over his claw. "Oh bother. Are you one of those that never turn on the heat?" He reaches his mitten covered paw up to rub his muzzle.

Icy declared her shop with vigorous joy. He floated about the entryway, inspecting this and that. She had quite the shop. And it sold cakes that were also ice cream? A treat he's never partook in Ponyville. He looked to her as he lowered to the ground. Since his hoof was longer it touches down first, followed by that reptilian gator claw which touched the ground and digits expanded out to stabilize his awkward stance. The red dragon's tail pressed to the ground and was just another leg for him.

"Ponyville is hardly quiet. Maybe on Thursdays." He offered. "But hardly. Why you want to live in such a place that is quiet and secure…?" By the way he removed Ponyville from the equation of slow or boring… he had to mean someplace else. "Canterlot is dreary, too many unable to find something." He looked to the blue mare. "You've so many accomplishments, yet you haven't done much of anything, have you?" He would ask.

It wasn't at all the same. Accomplishment and doing were hardly comparable. Work, self image, competing. It even seemed she had a little shop she had to contend with against the others by being -- unique. He perched himself on the ground, wearing still the winter gear in early fall. Though it looked a little ridiculous, he was quite cold in the shop. His words were not meant to demean or discourage, but instead liberate the mare of a distilled concept: achievement. Surely even with all those things under her hoof, there was something she was compensating for.

"Have you ever painted something? Or perhaps wrote a song? You are far too busy being all these things, I can't say I understand what you even are. What is your special talent?" He leaned his elbow on a table and looked to her, awaiting his tasty cake if ice and creme.

"Actually, believe it or not, I'm kind of allergic to heat," Ice Storm told him when he asked if she was one of those ponies who didn't turn the heat on. It wasn't like she had much choice in the matter. Well, she didn't but what was considered warm for her was still considered quite cool for everypony else. A small side effect of being an elementalist mage. Sometimes they developed an affinity for their own magic, that it transforms into a weakness against it's opposing element. Well, except for Fire Heart, but that was a different thing entirely. She actually paused for a moment to try to think about when her fiance might be home and remember where it was that she said that she was going. The events that had transpired today had made her forget. Oh well, it wasn't a huge deal. She'd be home when she got home.

When she heard Discord comment that Ponyville was hardly what he would call quiet, and asked why she would like to live someplace quiet and secure. "Because ponies need that sense of security in order to feel happy, protected, which is the very essence of my primary job. I wouldn't say that I've made a name for myself, but I do have a few accomplisments that I hold proud of, including saving Princess Twilight during the events of the Crystal Faire. Not to mention after being on the front lines, I don't mind having a bit of quietness when I come home that's away from the fighting. Canterlot is the epicenter of Equestria, so it's naturally the place where ponies want to make a name for themselves, but accomplishments and the like mean nothing if there's no pony around to cherish them with. I don't really need to do much of anything because what I do isn't for fame, it isn't for bits, and it's not for glory. It's for the donut shop down the street, the ponies who play in the parks, For everypony else. I don't care if my name gets put in a history book, I don't want a monument build in my name, I don't want anything in return, except for the safety of those I've sworn to protect," she told him

"I in fact have not wrote a song, and I've tried my hoof at painting, as one of my best friends is a painter, but it's really not for me, but I will go out of my way to make sure that her painting is not interrupted. What I am is a pony, first and for most, and my occupation is what ever it is needed to be for any point and time. As far as my special talent goes, I can bend the raw elemental power of ice to my will. I have mastered the arts of creating, and manipulating ice in almost all of it's forms. That's why I run my shop, that's why I study the stars, that's why I'm a guildmaster, and that's why I'm a frontline mage," she finished as she made her way behind her counter. "That said, is there any particular flavor of Ice Cream that you would like me to use in the cake?"

Allergic to hear? So she couldn't handle a bit of temperature? Hoo. "Well I shall be sure not to knit you a sweater." He grinned.

That was a novel idea, and a foalish jab. There was no question she meant more severe instances. He wasn't a stallion for cold weather. While he had a nice bundle of feathers and fur the rest of him was covered in scales which wasn't too good for the cold. None of him was built for the winter. A nice scarf and winter cap kept him cozy. The mitten and glove he kept were a fashionable match. Like a big dragon he preferred the warmth of a hearth or napping with friends cozied up in blankets. Though perhaps the was merely the comfort of company…

He sighed, looking bored as he rest his face in his larger paw. It wasn't that he was actually bored, but perhaps a sense of pity. Discord listened to her exploits as he pondered just how much she did, yet how little she has done in the same. Maybe it was just him, who had never before been a selfless pony. Security was nice, but what did it mean when you were too busy to enjoy your accomplishments or if you weren't even remembered for them? Was it arrogant? Maybe, but he couldn't help but feel that she was compensating. Always busy…

What was she running away from?

He really couldn't understand what drove ponies to do so much with their short lives. Why not enjoy it? Sure their special talents allowed them to find a unique skill that made them special, but if you constructed your life away from that skill were you using that skill to build yourself up, or rather diminishing the talent by crossing bridges away from it as they burned behind you? It was a serious thought for him. He never had reason to care.

Because he has never seen ponies before.

He saw mortals.

When she requested him the flavor he wanted he sat up. His paw and claw rested on the counter as he lowered himself to the seat like a foal ready to be rewarded for a good deed! "Chocolate!" Was one expecting much else. His ears perked as his let his claw move, making nearby kitchen utilities float about the mare. He was bundled up so was able to settle longer than he would have in such a chilly place! "You seem to have done a lot, by this place is awfully empty." He noted.

There was silence on his part. He tries, does. It wasn't always easy. Ponies saw him as a monster or knew his legends. He never though he would be remembered, let alone for that. He was used to being a creature forgotten, passes by. In just a link he was something new! But these ponies remembered him. He wasn't somepony to really to create suffering or impede progress. After his … reformation he could see he was a pony that was an enemy to order… not good. It was different. But in the same verse he was worried about making friends because he always turned out the same… eventually. He was chaos.

Didn't they understand?

He looked to Ice. "Do you want to be friends?" It was a simple question, but one that brought an infinite number of questions, worry, problems…

Ice Storm nodded when she heard discord mention that she'd done a lot for her shop to be so empty. "Well, if you're talking about the fact that there aren't any customers here right now, that's because my store is closed or by appointment only in the winter time because frozen products aren't generally in high demand when it's all around us," she told him. With the temperatures as they are, most ponies are far to cold to be able to eat or drink something that is frozen. On the flip side, it was cold enough to ensure that they could take it with them wherever they went and it wouldn't melt or go bad. "The only thing I really offer during the winter time are Ice Cream Cakes, and Ice Shaping. Even then, the Ice Cream Cakes are made to order, so usually require advanced notice so that I can have it ready by they time they need it," she smiled. She was proud of her little store, and while not a hot attraction, she still did a good amount of business, and did so at every location that she had. In fact, she had just received a letter from Seattle wanting her to open a fifth store in it's northern beachfront location in addition to her inner city location.

"Although that said, if you're looking for awards, medals, ribbons or anything of the like for my accomplishments, you won't find them. What little bit I have gotten because of my shop I don't post because I'm just doing my job and serving ponies to the best of my ability. I don't need a reward for doing my job, and likewise I don't fight for glory, titles, fortunes, or anything of the like. As I said. I fight for freedom, and security. I don't need a ribbon or award for that. The fact that you're here talking to me, and that I've assured that this can be allowed to happen, is more than enough for me. I don't like boasting my accomplishments. Besides, it's not tactically sound either. Too much boasting puts a target on your head for your enemies and then makes you a liability rather than an asset," she finished. as she set the actual cake part to bake. When he asked if she wanted to be friends, she smiled. "I think a friendship would be delightful. That said, would you like some tea while we wait for the cake part to bake and cool?" she asked.

He looked around as she spoke. The detail of the shop would be upon his memory. As much else he has experienced it would become part of his malformed existence. He would carry visions of the world to other worlds and the ones next, forming an ideal sense of de ja vu that crept along as he crossed these familiar roads. Portraits sometimes became distorted and often times architecture twisted beneath his savvy intent to create something unique, but there was never anything in the world's he creates and corrupted that were not recognizable. The pieces to his discordant puzzles were simply placed out of place. They were never meant to exist in the same place as it had been.

A new creation a new place.

The shop may have been a better destination during the summer months, this autumn weather nipped at his tail and neck. Exhaling one could easily mistake him for a proper dragon as spirals of his breathe exhaled from the tips of his nostrils He never did like the cold. It reminded him of a place he no longer had memory of. All his fur and fluff didn't account for much. Sure he was much heftier than your average pony, but he was quite lithe and noodly. Muscles didn't provide much room for fat.

Though his craving of sweets did increase to change this, as well as the increasingly slothful tendencies encouraged by the winter season.

He cocked his head. "Ice shaping?" He looked her up and down. "With your magic?" That would be impressive as such a thing took the fine tuning of one's abilities be it to hold the tools or to physically reshape the ice itself. "That seems something only a noble would ask for on the cusp of winter." The very idea brought a glower to his eyes!

She went on to explain that she found reward arbitrary. He found it annoyingly altruistic of her. When ponies carried the instead ability to be selfless it was a bit harder to expose their weakness an corruption. Not that he made it his life's work to dispel any sort of goodness from ponies, but sometimes they hid secrets so deep inside themselves that they could no longer see it. Witnesses your own perverse nature was often the only way to become stronger. Accepting your faults had to be akin to godliness. God's didn't make mistakes often, but owing up to them did provide a state of… superiority. He had to tell himself that sometimes. It was the only way he could justify his weaknesses. It made him stronger.

Even now it still bothered him.

Even now the idea of being given something for his actions.. disgusted him. He thought it was a gift, a heart warming gift, but it turned out to be junk. He has, for a moment in his life, had a sense of belonging. It was taken away so cruelly. Though the ponies gave that back. That feeling of belonging. This one felt a bit more genuine. He did still harbor a sense of regret, but he kept those feelings, as well as many of his other more vulnerable ones, more sheltered. He looked up as she ended her explanation and he perked up seeing the cake part go in the oven.

He rest his paw and claw on the counter. "So you excel in ice magic?" He rest his chin on his paw, holding out his claw to manifest a tiny little Ice Storm shaped snowflake that sparkled softly. "Does that mean you can manifest ice creme or you have to make by hoof?" He would like to see that.

Blowing the snowflake out his palm and let it float to her muzzle.

The motions of Discord while she spoke didn't go unnoticed. He seemed to peer around the store looking for something, yet nothing in particular at the same time. His face showed him to be deep in thought about something but she wasn't quite able to place it. He was a god after all, so there could be any number of things that could be filling his mind right now. She watched, and noticed that his breath was actually showing every time he exhaled into the room. A testament to just how cold she actually kept it in her shop and home. Though she would have to make sure to keep it a bit warmer in the coming months once her fiance moves in with her. Being a mare of fire, and one that is susceptible to cold, they would need to find a happy medium where they were both comfortable.

She then heard him ask about her ice shaping and further inquired if she did it with her magic, and then further asked about what she could actually do with her magic and whether it mean she could manifest the ice cream of if she still had to make it by hoof. "A bit of both actually. I don't really use my hooves so to say, but I make everything fresh right in front of my customers. At least in this location anyway. My magic lets me create and manipulate ice to my whim. I can reshape it, restructure it, change it's density," she replied as he gave the assumption that only nobles would ask for an ice sculpture on the cusp of winter. "You'd be surprised. I mean, I have sold mane to high end Galas, and even used one in the Gala I hosted myself earlier this year. But many others ask for it as well. In fact, nobles are lowest populace of ponies that I actually serve. I mean, I know many of them, most actually outside of Canterlot. This type of treat doesn't really mesh well with them. I mean, I do get a lot of ice cream sales from them, but the basis of the shop more or less revolves around the snow cones and the smoothies. My main goal when I opened this shop was to make everypony that came in leave with a smile. A goal that I still live by to this day." she smiled.

She paused for a moment though when she watched him blow the snowflake out of his palm and watched as it floated towards her before landing on her muzzle, her body actually cool enough, and so naturally in tune with the element of ice that it actually stayed as a snowflake even as it landed on her. A small nod in of it's own to her power. She gave a small smile to Discord as she noticed that the snowflake was actually shaped like her. It always amazed her how something so delicate actually held so much raw potential. "Would you like to see a small demonstration of just what I'm capable of?" she asked her new friend before looking back to the snowflake and then back at him. True it was but one simple snowflake, but all she needed was one.

As she explained the spirit’s ears twitched as he waited to enjoy his chocolate treat, patience not one of his virtues so he eyes the oven often enough. He held it clutched in his paw and claw, the mismatched limbs fiercely clutching the snack. Restructure ice? It was a far cry from how he changed things. Density, water -- none of it really made sense. Ponies sure had a wide range of magic, yet at the same time they were so highly specified. While one pony may be good at warping items, another was good at tilling soil. Strengths and weaknesses were so varied that he was baffled when they hadn’t the capacity to solving some of the major problems concerning their world. Like boredom, or order. He supposed had they no order it would eventually become the order and something he would have to resolve by bringing order to in some insane paradox where he was a bringer of harmony because he was the prince of chaos. It was all very contrary.

Just how he liked it!

As far as he understood that dream was far met with the Canterlonian citizenry. But perhaps he could speed it along. “Well earning a smile from your customers isn't your problem dear.” He chuckled a the fork levitated to his muzzle and waggled it impatiently. “What you need to consider is expanding beyond the borders of Equestria. There are plenty of regions sweltering and in dire need of your below zero influence~” he cooed as his forked tongue pulled up to wrapped around the utensil.

He was not wrong. There were plenty of places beyond Equestria that she would get more business. But, moreover, she could perhaps expand her potential. Such a limiting factor like weather should have no bearing on a pony's ability to expand on their horizons and really go for the gold, though in this case: the cold. He felt it was his job, no his destiny, to pervert Celestia’s little paradise that she's built for her little ponies. It was a bubble of harmony that was difficult to penetrate. Even he couldn’t topple it, though -- he never really tried. It had been just a game. And his games were foiled by the luck they had their magic stones and friendship. But he was a special case, no ordinary troublemaker who had been easily relieved with friends. No - it was up to him to teach these ponies that in the face of chaos -- nothing was scarier than being unprepared.

He was about to eat the fork, but gave pause when Icy offered her -- demonstration. “Oh? A taste of this power? Do show my dear.” Since they were friends!

He vanished and reappeared floating over her, naught left of him on the stool but the fork standing on end.

When she heard Discord tell her that she needed to try to expand her business beyond Equestria and that there others that would love to experience her treats and that would need them desperately, she shrugged her shoulders. As much as she would love the profit. She couldn't really afford to put a store in anyplace other than Equestria. The fact that she could be called upon at anytime meant she had to be in Equestria at any time she wasn't on a mission. However, when he agreed to her demonstration, she smiled. She would get to show him why she was one of the first responders to most situations.

"As much as I would love to expand to some of those regions, I know my own limitations as well. I am very intolerant to heavy heat areas. Comes with my affinity to ice. My weakness to fire and heat is about as strong as my ice and resistance to cold," she started to tell him as she took the single snowflake that was on her nose and levitated it in the air. Using a constant source of magic, she morphed the single snowflake, making it much, larger, until it was as bit as she was, but still a single snowflake. Then slowly the flake started to take shape and almost appear to inflate, as the flake started to take on the dimensions of a pony. Once it had the proper shape, it began to fill in before a small flash turned it into a very solid, very dense pony made of ice. After it set, she levitated Discord a hammer. "Go ahead, give it a whack and see what happens," she smiled. She only knew of one pony that could actually break her densest ice, and that was only because destruction was her talent. She was eager to see Discord's reaction when the hammer left the ice almost completely unscathed.

The spirit was a connoisseur of suggestion, a prodigy of persuasion, but it seemed without his spellwords the young mare was impervious to his overreaching suggestions. His head shifted, ears swiveling forward for their down facing position. He looked to the mare as she explained she had limitations, but it was not something the chaotic spirit could believe. Limitation was such a taboo word to him, if even he knew what taboo meant given his personal habits and tendencies to terrorize younger lifeforms. After all he has traveled the stars and seen some of the most impossible events in this time and the future! He had watched ponies defy and even defeat him, though only in due to his burdening talent being in underwhelming use in their collective presence. He could admit there was occasion he underestimated their tenacity, obnoxious interference, and sometimes baffling tendencies as mortals, but never aloud.

“So you become a little tepid in steal weather!” He would say manifesting a straw sun hat, a overly large floral shirt. In his paw he had a cup of lemonade which he slurped f on and a paper fan in the other. “Besides you could do with a bit of a tan. You're looking blue in the face.” He teased before releasing his objects from his magical claim.

He watched her weave her magic. The spirit blinked and folded back his ears. Floating still he leaned forward. The movement caused his rump to lift back and head to tilt forward. His narrow muzzle stretched as his not twitched. The chimeric overlord’s paw settled over his snout's top as he watched the mare create a dense ice sculpture. It was quite lovely but to destroy it? After she worked so hard to create it? How divine!

“Well if you insist…” he acted humbly, for inside he was rolling with cheer at the prospect of chaos! Ahahaha!! “Tally ho!” A mallet appeared in his paw and claw as he raised his forelimbs over his head.

A pair of stomping boots appeared on his hinds. He rest one on the ice sculpture and the other dug into the counter as he whooped and swung down onto the object. Of course it did not help Discord didn’t have much in the way of physical strength either. Much of his bravado came from magic. After all what all-powerful wizard needed to learn how to box? The spirit wouldn’t be much pleased to find he could not destroy the figure, but that in itself was a little chaotic as well! Upon landing the blow a dull, ringing sound rattled from the mallet and shook across his forelimbs and down his body before exiting his tail in a puff of smoke. He rolled back, tumbling off the counter. The mallet vanished as he hit ground.

“Pffbbt!” He raised a paw and pressed it to the surface of the countertop, pulling himself up. That angular, equine-like head of his peeked up, eyes spinning from the result of his assault. “O-oh m… that is a rather difficult to crack bit of ice.” He rumbled, shaking his head clear of the twittering birds who dispersed from the flock around his head and flew away.

As he settled back to a float his stomach would rumble, indicating time for the cake to be ready! He was eager for it and all that physical activity only made him hungrier!

Ice Storm couldn't help but let out a giggle when she watched Discord try to break the statue only to be treated to a show as she watched the shock travel through his body after he had hit the ice. Once he pulled the hammer back from where he had struck, he would notice that not even a crack appeared on the sculpture where he had hit. The density of the ice made it much more malliable and much less brittle. It didn't fracture or break like normal ice, which was why she could use it as armor. However with as thin as her armor is, it still breaks on a heavy blow unless she uses more magic to reinforce the density and essentially repair the ice as it's breaking, but at that speed, that's extremely hard for her to do. It's easier for her to take the blow and fix it after the fact if she had to take a blow at all.

When he commented about her being a bit tepid in steal weather, she nodded. "Unfortunately for me, like I said, I don't tan, I burn. So I don't stay very long on beaches. Give me a deserted frozen tundra though, I'll be fine for days," she giggled as she moved the sculpture to her counter for a bit. It would last a while in here with the temperature as it was.

Just about when Discord sat himself back down, the time for the oven started going off. Perfect timing! For most ponies, to finish making an ice cream cake, they would have to put the cake in the freeze so that it would cool, so that they could put the ice cream on it without melting, but since this was her specialty. she instantly superchilled the cake and started mixing cream with chocolate, freezing it near instantly into a thick ice cream frosting over the cake before presenting the entire thing to discord. "Wala!" Ice Cream cake!" she smiled.

Discord inspected the ice block. He could just turn it into flower blossoms with a snap of his claws and send it to the wind, but he was rather impressed that it was so tough. Not that such meant very much given the draconequus wasn’t all that tough himself! He settled back down in his seat and scratched at his beard thoughtfully. Setting his paw and claw on the countertop he pushed off and gave his stool a spiiiiin before coming to a stop facing the mare. She was a funny lass, to be sure. Not many ponies were willing to show off for him or give him the time of day. He was pretty infamous in Canterlot and Ponyville for his heroics. ANd while that had not spread far or wide: he was content where he was and being able to have fun with many new sorts of friends. He still liked causing a bit of chaos now and then… but that was a whole other story!

“Oh tanning, burning it’s like cake. Sometimes you do it juuust right and other times -- you don’t.” He mused as he wiggled his claw thoughtfully. “If you can handle the ice I am sure you can still get a little frost burn.” He pulled his paw and claw up in a dismissive motion before he turned his attention back to the mare.

When the cake was popped out the oven he pulled his head back and took in a deep breathe! How fabulous this was going to be a delightful meal! As he breathed in his body fluttered up before plopping down as the mare prepared the treat for his consumption. He would be a difficult guest to satisfy as he was a god of chaos and held up to the most absurd standards! He was impressed with her focus of magic. In the stead of the boring old ways ponies used their talents the little ice blue pony seemed to show it  off with flare that the theatrical draconequus could quietly appreciate. And it had to be quiet! After all the chaotic noodle was enamored by the display. He had never seen a pony make a cake from scratch and then create its components from magic. Knowing him he did all at once with magic and other plot holes that made one wonder if he could really cook or just cast false perfection into his meals!

When the delicious-looking, chocolate ice cream cake was presented the spirit looked quite ready to dig in! The moment it hit his tongue -- “Oooh! This is just -- mmm! This would resolve so many bad days!” The spirit was absolutely sparkling. It was as if he was having his first bite of chocolate all over again! “Really, you have a skill to define the ages. Nothing better to end, or start, wars.” He would speak through muffled cheeks.

Bow that was a thought. Had she ever causes conflict with her cakes? He bet she could create a wonderful discrepancy against more afforded bakers in Equestria. He pondered the implications. Baking events, ice sculpturing, and competitive ice cream scooping! So many fun paths to take. He would convince the little Icy pony one way or the other. But he had to find just what it was she would be lured by…

“Have you ever considered entering your cake into competition? Canterlot has many of them and Celestia herself often comes to try them.” He mused. “I bet you can get reputation for your cake and get it attention.” He tempted her. Though it wouldn't be easy for a mare who has everything. “But, more over, you'd be perfecting this recipe. As delicious as it is… *something* is missing…” he said as he wrapped his forked tongue around the utensil.
