Possible Link Between the Season 6 Finale and the MLP Movie? (Minor Spoilers)

Hello all! 

 

First of all, I'm going to give a Spoiler Warning as the following refers to the Synopsis of the Season Six Finale and the MLP Movie. 

 

With that out of the way, while we don't have much information about the Finale or the Movie, the synopsis of each that we are given sounds like the two could be related. 

 

First, here is the Season Six Finale synopsis from MLP Wiki: 

 

"Without the assistance of Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six, Starlight Glimmer must work alone to assemble an unlikely team of heroes to defend Equestria from the return of one of its greatest threats."

 

And now Part 2 of the Finale: 

 

"To rescue her friends and save Equestria, Starlight Glimmer leads an unlikely squad against one of the ponies' oldest and greatest foes."

 

Now, here is the official MLP Movie synopsis: 

 

"[A] new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity – embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home."

 

So we have Twilight and Company Leaving Equestria in the Movie to face a threat and a new team having to face a threat in Equestria with the absence of the Mane Six. Coincidence?

 

Now, the Movie is listed as being released on  October 6, 2017, meaning that there might be a Season 7 before the Movie. The question is: Will Season 7 feature this new group instead of the Mane Six? Will the Movie just chronicle everything Twilight and Company was doing while the new group was busy?

Having seen both already, I can assure y'all there's absolutely NO link whatsoever between "The Legend of Everfree" and the S6 finale.

 

If there is a link, the writers certainly buried it well in both scripts.

Yeah, that rumor was thrown out the window after seeing the Season Six Finale.
