(Sorry for the really short post: I'm not quite feeling it today, and we're rather pressed on time Event-wise.)

Although Cadence would always be hard-pressed not to gulp at the sight of a love-starved changeling, her reflexive horror was significantly mitigated by the snow-white appearance of this winter queen. This hadn't been the first time the love alicorn and the ice unicorn had crossed passed, but this was the first proper opportunity for Cadence to witness Ice's Storm's full cryomancy powers to the fullest. To say the lyre-equipped presenter wasn't disappointed was a severely huge understatement, to say the least.

"Oh my," the bard of love joked; "Now we're really in for a cold winter this year. In that case, we better get Honeywing and Glitzen Glamour up on stage before the real snow starts falling....."

Honey strolled onto the stage and extended a hoof to Glitzen from centre stage, striking a dramatic pose. "Mi Corazon~." he said in a smouldering tone, giving the other pegasus a come-hither look that threatened to light the curtains at the edge of the stage on fire.

Wasting not a moment Glitzen strode onto the stage. No, strode was the wrong word. Glided would be more apropos, almost as though the stage were still as icy as it were when the last contestant took the stage. Their steps made nary a sound as he made his to his beloved, a small and almost unnoticeable smirk of satisfaction on his face "Mon cher~"

Honeywing placed a gentlecoltly kiss on GG's hoof. Then with no further preamble he steps into a ready position beside Glitzs, staring deep into the other's eyes while waiting for the music to start.

With a slightly glance off stage, towards the stagehoof who handled the music, Glitzen gave a little wave. "Lurch, if you would please?" the stagehoof chuckled to himself before letting out a groan in response before starting the music. The Pegasus locked eyes with Honeywing and took his spot as the music began to play.

Given his costume especially, not that it wouldn't apply without one, Honeywing took the lead on the tango that started up. He was trained to dance, of course, but beyond that the two pegasi had practiced their routine for weeks, and it was a fairly simple tango. For now...

The last time Glitzen had danced, had truly danced, was probably back in high school. But one doesn't forget, merely gets rusty. That's what the practice was for, and it certainly paid off in spades. Where it not for the costumes they wore, the stallion would nearly forget that they were on stage and it weren't just the two of them and loose themselves in the romantic moment. But the two had tricks up their sleeves that would soon show the real spark to their routine beyond a simple tango for two.

Keeping his eyes firmly on his partner, Honeywing went through the steps of their dance. He matched the tempo and led Glitzen through a couple of flourishes, dipping him once or twice in the middle of a step. There was a pause in the music, and the stallion paused with it and asked "Ready, mi amore?" with a waggle of his eyebrows.

The subtle smile on Glitzen's face grew ever so slightly, his eyebrows raising just so. "Always, mon cher~ Shall we?" and the tempo suddenly returned with a vengeance. Not merely a measured tango any longer, it became a swift Nuevo. Honeywings steps became exaggerated, if no less graceful. It started with a broad step forward, dipping Glitzen low and pulling him back up with a twist.

The hem of Glitzen's hobble skirt invoked the image of a black rose being twirled gently as Honeywing pulled the other stallion into his forelegs. During the little spin, one could almost catch a glimpse of glittering sparks coming from the pair of black horseshoes that graced their hooves. The Pegasus couldn't help but to give a soft giggle, but kept its tone in line of character, subtle bemusement rather than joyous exuberance.

And speaking of roses, Honeywing pulled one of his suit, a long stemmed black rose that he gripped between his teeth as he took a pair of steps back and pulled Glitzen close when he took the follow up forward step. The next pair of steps spun GG around and took a step forward (in the same direction that had previously been back). Each step still in time with the music.

Glitzen wondered to himself, was the audience enjoying watching the two as much as he was enjoying preforming it. GG was always one for attention, though they never truly actively sought it out from more than a few ponies, present dance partner chief amongst them all, but it still felt nice.

The stallion stepped in expert time along his partner, back to forward, forward to back. How many times had they had to practice this? More times than they'd like to count, but by harmony they were making it seem as though they were born for this dance.

The pair started using even larger and more exaggerated steps as the song gained energy. Honeywing slipping behind Glitzen for some of the more complex steps, or spinning the Pegasus out to arm's length only to step in himself a beat later. He dipped and twirled and cavorted with Glitzen until the song thundered out its final notes, leaving Honeywing panting and holding GG aloft with a jubilant expression. He was certainly glad the suit was tailored to fit snugly, because his wings were straining against the cloth.

As the dance grew faster and faster, ever closer to its climax, the duo's dance grew more extravagant. Whoo would he be feeling this later that evening. Each dip, twirl, and step now was sending out beautiful glittering sparks from the horse shoes that Glitzen wore, evoking imagery of flames as passionate as the dance. When all that was said and done and the last notes of the song reached their peak, Glitzen was lifted high above Honeywing's head in a pose that many a lovely Prench mare had struck on all those honestly awful romance novel covers with a black rose between their teeth and that same bemused smirk on their face.

If there was only other thing that Cadence the Bard was a sucker for other than adorable children, then it would be adorable couples. Let it be known that she envied the dancing skills of the costumed stallions. Sigh... if only Shining Armor could pull some moves like Honeywing or Glitzen. Cadence made a note to herself: sign her and her husband up for dance classes when she returned home to the Crystal Empire.

"That was amazing, the both of you!" the alicorn commented at the end of their routine; "Well done!" Apparently, the alicorn lacked the words to truly express her admiration. Everypony else made their appreciation known through the standard cheering.

"And that's it for our costume performances this evening. Our judges will be back with their picks for the Grand Prize and Runner-Up in a few minutes. Don't forget, the winner will be awarded two boxes worth of candy, and the runner-up receives one. So hang tight, everypony!"

*OOC: Before the night is through, the winners will be announced in a follow-up post.*
