Name: Flint “Comet” Skye

 

Sex: Male

 

Species: Weird-hairless-monkey-thing (Otherwise known as a human.)

 

Age: Unknown, but looks to be somewhere in his 20s.

 

Appearance: Comet is a thin young man with brown hair with length that can be either shaggy, or moderately long. He is nearsighted, yet he doesn’t wear glasses. Instead, he wears a pair of goggles with special lenses that allow him to see (Created by the lovely Rarity). He has thin facial hair, but mostly keeps himself clean-shaven and doesn’t normally allow more than the slight shadow of a soul patch just below his lower lip.

 

Personality: Comet is normally very quiet and introverted around those he doesn’t know, and even seem a bit shy at first. However once he warms up, then he is usually very quick to show his emotions, and won’t hesitate to speak his mind. The last bit has drawbacks, as it often makes him seem rather rude at times, even though it’s mostly unintentional. In his better moods, he can sometimes seem overly hyper, and quite chipper. Even during a battle he can be the biggest goof at times. If Comet doesn’t like someone or something, then he makes absolutely no effort to hide it. He also has a short temper, and will not hesitate to set ablaze the rear ends of those who provoke him.

 

History: Before he arrived to Equestria, Comet (Flint being his real name, and the name he went by during this time.) was young member of a cult who worshipped a fire and sun goddess known as Isra. Every few years, the cult would sacrifice a living thing - be it creature or human - to appease the goddess. For as long as he could, he kept his devotion a secret from his family… until Flint himself had been selected to become the next sacrifice. Finding out about this, his two brothers and one sister tried to stop the ritual, but it was too late. Flint had already been forcefully burned at the stake, and nothing remained of him save for his charred remains.

    Rather than going into the Afterlife, Flint ended up in Equestria, where he crash-landed in the mountains miles outside of the Crystal Empire like a meteor, leaving a massive impact in the ground (Originally in my fanfic it was in the Everfree, but I thought I’d adjust it here.). Princess Cadence had been sitting near the balcony in her room when she noticed the strange light falling from the sky. Shining Armor ordered a group of guards to investigate, and in less than an hour they returned carrying an injured, burned, unconscious and naked creature the likes of which they had never seen. Rather than leaving the human out in the cold, Cadence ordered for him to be put under the best medical care they could provide. He survived, but it took him three days to come to.

    Once he had, he was questioned by the royal sisters Celestia and Luna. However, the only thing he could remember was that he was called a “human”. Flint couldn’t remember his name, his age, where he came from or why he was there. He didn’t even know that he was supposed to be dead. However, Celestia still declared that he may reside in Ponyville under the watchful eye of Twilight Sparkle. While he was in the hospital, he met the famous Mane Six, who then gave him the name Comet, because of how he first arrived to Equestria. Weeks later, he found that he had strange powers pertaining to anything that has to do with open flames...

… However, here’s a bit of a twist.  Since Isra is a fire goddess and linked to the sun, she is jealous of Celestia, and views her as a false idol. When Comet was sacrificed, Isra purposefully had him sent to Equestria… because his soul purpose of being there was to destroy Celestia. However, Comet still has yet to even know this himself.

 

Residence: Comet currently lives with Twilight Sparkle, Spike and Starlight Glimmer in the Castle of Friendship. His clothes are supplied by Rarity.

 

Abilities: Comet has the ability to control and manipulate fire as long as he has an open flame. He can bend, twist, distort, and shape it to whatever he so desires, and can make it grow and shrink as well. He cannot summon fire, but he can absorb it. When he does this, it converts it into energy, which he can use to heal any injuries he has. However, absorbing too much fire can be quite harmful, as it is very similar to having too much caffeine. When he overexerts, he can show signs of a caffeine overdose: Jitters, restlessness, dizzines, sweating, vomiting, cardiac arrhythmia, and in worse cases, even cardiac arrest.

    When he makes a flame larger or spreads it, this takes energy away from him. The first symptom that shows when he overexerts is slight weakness, which turns into increased sluggish behavior, nosebleeds, nausea/vomiting, fainting and death.

    Comet is NOT immune to fire. He has to manipulate it and have it suspended a few inches from his palm whenever he has a flame in his hand. If he touches a flame without manipulating it, he will get burned just like anyone else would.

    He has also never been trained in unarmed combat. If there are no open flames around during a fight, he’s basically useless.
